That's insane. Frank is a friend of ours here at the shop. We're gonna have him on in a in a very near future episode. He not only is a four-time published author, but he is a former journalist. Um, so he he he actually worked for the newspapers and and and did some really, really awesome interviews. Should I say, like the two famous ones that I know of?

There I think there's 501 players who made it to the uh majors from North Carolina, and he talks about that. He'll talk about that, he'll talk about his career in journalism. Um, he's got some interesting stuff, and then we'll, you know, obviously talk about his slip.

What's up with the uh meal prep life? That's what I'm on right now. Okay. First, like seven days in now. I didn't tell you what I made.

You didn't. So the bit the first meal prep I did, uh, you know, and they're all from these videos that we see on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube. They're just the short, you know.

I could see where somebody would become a compulsive eater just by watching social media because the stuff they make it look so good.

Yes, and I'll tell you what, and I've tried some things that I've seen, and they're not so good, but that's how I know not to repeat that up that uh recipe. But this one I made was a Philly cheese steak um burrito. Whoa. But like in low carb, low calorie uh burrito, you know, uh tortillas. Right, right. Um, it turned out really, really good, but I had to use a pot to cook it because I didn't have anything like that. Like you don't have like a massive cook, like all those cooking people have, and I bought one and it gets there today.

You know, all the influences and stuff who have the cooking shows and stuff, they're always putting three pounds of meat in the pan. I'm like, well, I don't have enough room for that.

But well, you can do meal prepping though. So I got one of those electric skillets that gets here today. I'm like, I don't want to do that. Do you meal prep ever?

I have in the past. I mean, I would have to be in the same place at one time. Like that's for a little bit. That's true. That's fair.

See, so for like somebody like me, I have to go to the same place every day, you know. And meal prepping, not only is it gonna lead to a healthier lifestyle for sure, just by off-rip, if you get the right ingredients of stuff, you're gonna have a better overall, you know, diet. Secondly, it does it save money? Does meal prepping actually save money? Because if you buy good quality groceries, you're gonna pay for those.

Well, if you're going to the drive-thru every day or eating terribly, uh, and it does save time.

I mean, that's the whole point because nobody meal preps their McDonald's burgers. Sure.

They're convenient and fast, they're unhealthy, like it's and expensive too. I don't want yeah, they are getting expensive. I like never go, and then out of nowhere, I come in and I'm like, I just paid $14. So expensive. Oh, no, I don't think.

I'll be in a I'll be in the drive-thru and I'll be looking at the prices. I'm like, that's how much you guys are paying these days? Yes, yes. That's crazy. Yeah, Ubers are expensive. Depends on the time, depends on where, but man, that guy is so cool.

No, hang on, we're back to McDonald's being convenient and meal prepping.

Okay. You can just go to McDonald's and get that real fast. But if you want to eat healthy, it takes time to cook again and again and again and again each day of the week. If you want to eat healthy, if you want to make it work. And especially with lunches, like if you're not exclusively talking about you work Monday through Friday and you have a fridge at home, and then you can bring it in, however, works for you. Either way, you don't have to do anything other than what you did on Sunday for the next five days to make sure that you have eaten healthy, yeah, easily.

For sure. And that's what's I'm going down these rabbit holes of these videos because they're they're healthier meals, higher, you know, protein and lower in the city.

It's better than what what I would have eaten out of convenience. Yep. But they are I'll start sending you some of the like some of the cool stuff I'm I'm seeing them make. Uh, and I'm gonna try. There's there's one that I want to try, and I can't remember what it is. Uh well, no, I can't remember.

I'll like do like a breakfast casserole as a big meal prep. When I was dog sitting and I was like very far away from from work, right? I would like pre-prep a like huge, awesome breakfast casserole in a Pyrex, you know, and I would just microwave it every day before work. I would eat it, and it was like whole wheat, eggs, uh spinach, and all sorts of healthy things just baked into eggs. To eggs that you just heat up and then you just do really quick, and now like in a week of eating one thing is not gonna make you sick.

Um anyway, I forgot what the hell I was talking about. You've been working out in a fasted state. If you work out in a fasted state, it's it's better for the intermittent fasting. Like it it your body goes into high gear basically with burning fat uh because you haven't introduced sugar in your hand.

And you just go down and you can swim in the water. You can't climb on rocks. My friend Danny got it, didn't you? My friend Danny did, yeah. That was about to go, and then they hold up a loud, like, megaphone bee, and like and do not climb on the rocks. Like, and it is a huge place, lots of people, and then she's just like, uh shit, jumps in the water. They got me. Yeah, it was so loud. It was good times.

No, well, that's a false. It's like almost half of my flight. And like, um anyways, so I was like, I've gotta know somebody in Raleigh. And then I was like, oh my god, I do. And I remember thinking how he was like, You guys are welcome anytime. Perfect. So I hit him my best if I could crash on his couch. And he said that he was that he works close to the airport, which was like 30 minutes away. And it was in the morning, and he's like, I can take you there on my way to work. I was like, Really? And I was like, Well, what does that mean for my car? Like, can I park it there long term? And he was like, Well, how long are you going? Two weeks. So I parked it at his house. He saved me like $250.

Okay, is not randomized. If you played this game, you know who the murderer is. This one you can reuse over and over, and there will be a different murderer every time. I personally really enjoyed the other ways that I've played because it was it was we had 20 people.

So she sent out a Google sheet, and then here was the a little a little blurb of each character, it'll say whether it should be male or female, whereas the other games I've played, they're all gender neutral, so anybody could be it.

But outside of that, like the way that the game is played, like in the other games that I've had, you just are you just are talking and trying to figure out between people, like, because they already know their stories. This game was like, here's a script if you're innocent, here's a script if you're guilty. And that's kind of like I really do prefer my other the other ones that I've played. Yeah, um, because we've got 20 people, and that just means that 19 people are reading through innocence. Yeah, now is it better to have a lot of here's a little evidence, here's a little evidence, and the scripts are attached to that, and like you're supposed to like pick another character that you start rumors about, so it was like interactive, and then it would come to a point where I needed to rally everybody in and then tell everybody what's happening, and then I'd pick somebody, and then they have to ask specific other people around the circle a question, and then they read the script, and so we go till everybody's been asked, which with 20 people that was a lot, and then um and there was a couple there was like four rounds, and then so at the very beginning when I gave out the packets and the name tags, and oh, we give them a little letter of the alphabet, so it was like A through P or something, but little lowercase, whatever. And and um give them a little letter. Well, cause if it's a little piece of lower that would be lowercase, all caps letter on a really small piece of paper. Lee. Come on, come on, okay.

So now the mom is telling her that she's a murderer, and then she came up to me and she's like, I just found something out, is it true? And I was like, Yes, wink, you know.

Uh yes. There was a lot of people voted for, so at the end there's a tally, a sheet that everybody says who they think it is and why, if they want to. And um, so then I tallied it up and she did have the most votes, but only by one, you know. So like and that was fun, and then I just made everybody like we ended up skipping around because everything was taking really long with 20 people.

Um, I think with the way that that one's set up, yes, because the only way that you can figure anything out is if is through the person's script. So you have to hear it out. So when we were like, okay, let's just pass this next part of questioning. Because that's like it was 15 to 20 minutes. Yeah, you know. So um it's probably 20.

Well, it it really with the more people, probably. It depends. No, because the one that I've done where I was the murderer, there's 24 of us playing, but because it's not scripted and it's just we have little internal missions in the game, yeah, that and like we already know our character, and everyone's trying to figure out okay, who is it? Um and I thought about that too, because if anybody was sitting there socializing with the same people the whole time, and no one in that group got told that they were the murderer, that's kind of a problem too. So it's like the other gameplay is here's your script, you are or you're not in in sorry, not script, you are or you're not the murderer in your character sheet. And then you go into the game and it was like a camp setting. So we played like water balloon toss and like through-ins. There was some games as part of the plot line, which was really awesome because the people who created this entire like several different plot lines, my friend, okay, so I the reason I got my um my the murder mystery party at my party was because I know somebody who knows somebody who writes them. And so that girl, my friend, who knows the people who writes them, I asked if she would do it for my birthday party one time. Then at their wedding, those people are there at her wedding. So then they put on this entire um murder mystery. The people who wrote it were the were the game masters at the game, which was super cool. And so everything went on without a hitch. It was awesome. And each character has its own like um little niches that they like all of my little pieces were like like you could what's an example of one?

So, two different games happening essentially, and like um, so it's really complex, really super fun, and only one person at the end of it was pointing at me. And so it's not so it's a totally different gameplay depending on what murdered. I basically I did win.
