Episode 41 of the Hot Ashes Podcast comes in hot. Lee, TK, Jarrad, and Chris light up at George’s Cigars and dive into everything from cigars and beer to customer service, AI, solo camping, bands, books, and even the moon landing.
We kick things off with what everyone’s smoking and drinking, then revisit TK’s legendary “drunk episode” and how it felt from the inside vs. how fans saw it. From there we move into a big chunk on customer service and leadership—Walmart horror stories, how (not) to train employees, mock job interviews with high schoolers, and why real human connection still beats AI phone trees every time.
Jarrad breaks down his upcoming solo camping trip in Shenandoah: gear loadout, food plan, water strategy, heart/ICD concerns, and his goal of slowing down and actually enjoying the views. Lee talks about his band Heart Stop, new 90s/2000s rock covers (Weezer, Everclear, Rage Against the Machine), and the upcoming show at the White Gazebo Pavilion behind George’s Cigars in Swansboro, NC. We also hit Lee’s books (fiction and nonfiction), using AI to tighten writing, the Carolina Museum of the Marine, movie and book nerdery, and a late‑episode dive into conspiracies like the moon landing.
If you like cigars, shop talk, leadership, camping, bands, books, Marines, movies, and a healthy dose of unfiltered brotherly banter, this one’s for you.

Welcome back to the Hot Ashes Podcast. I'm Lee. TK back in the building sober. George not in there?
SPEAKER_03Uh I decided to get that out of the way.
SPEAKER_04Alright. It's way easier to talk this week. So for some reason a customer just came up and I don't like we're doing a podcast. I don't know who's running the shop right now. Like, yeah, what was that guy asking for? Lee. Wow. Alright. That took me completely by surprise. Um, alright. So, what are we on 41? We don't say that. We're back, baby.
SPEAKER_03That thing threw off his whole mojo right here.
SPEAKER_04God bless. I mean, the guy sees it. I'm like doing this, I'm like, I don't what do you want me to do, dude? I can't hit like, you know. Anyway, I'm uh yeah. I'm smoking what used to be called the Maestro, and now it's called Rise and Grind. And I left the I like that name better. Rapper over here. So that's the rapper. The rapper, the rapper. And I'm drinking a pernicious IPA. TK.
SPEAKER_03TK is rocking out with George's Box Press Torpedo. Nicely done every time. Ooh, yeah. And some cold brew with coffee. I'll probably have a beer, but I just wanted some coffee. Oh yeah, it's good. Nothing wrong with that. It goes good with the cigars, in my opinion.
SPEAKER_04Microphone three. We've got Jared, my brother. What are you smoking?
SPEAKER_02I got it. Life same is always better.
SPEAKER_04Alright, and uh how's he?
SPEAKER_02He's good.
SPEAKER_04He was doing any better to be arrested. And you're drinking water?
SPEAKER_02Water. Always.
SPEAKER_04Yes.
SPEAKER_02Aqua purificata.
SPEAKER_00High quality HDU.
SPEAKER_04And microphone four, we got Chris.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I got uh George's uh Moridia Jalapa and uh leg brewing company, non-alcoholic upside down golden, which is actually very good.
SPEAKER_02Nice golden how do you guys talk about cigars so often without it sounding sexual? Because I notice every time you have a cigar, it's a thick one.
SPEAKER_04In the mic. In the mic. It's always a thick one. Yeah. You like them thick. I like them thick. Like them thick and veiny. It's veiny, too.
SPEAKER_02He beats the stickers upside down so you feel the vein. Yeah, no, but like I wanted to say it, but I'm like, how does that not sound gay? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04What do you about at 52 ring gauge?
SPEAKER_02Just estimating. Yeah. Not that I would know.
SPEAKER_04Alright, so we are back for another one. I told George today, it's funny because this is 41, right?
SPEAKER_03We're inching closer and closer.
SPEAKER_04We're inching closer and closer. I was like, you know, you got nine more episodes after this. You think he's gonna back out? He he said, I'm ready, brother. I was like, yeah, right. That'd be cool. He always says I can't wait to see. What he used to say is uh next week, next week. I remember that, yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's how it actually started. It was like, next time, next time.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well, it's like being uh in the car. Are we there yet? Ten more minutes. We got two hours.
SPEAKER_02Are we gonna make him do it if he tries to back out?
SPEAKER_04Oh, he's doing it. I'll follow him around with a camera and a microphone.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I think honestly, too, though, we almost probably proved something to him by going this far with it. He was probably just like next week, next week. He's like, these dudes are probably not gonna be doing this.
SPEAKER_04It's like 50? Yeah, I'll be on that one.
SPEAKER_03He's like, oh shit, they're on 41. These guys are legit now.
SPEAKER_04Son of a bitch. Can you turn mine up, Lee? Your headphones or your mic? You sure it's not your headphones?
SPEAKER_02Maybe. Your headphones are way down. That sounds better. Thank you. Whoa. Is that what I sound like?
SPEAKER_04All right, is your voice the same volume as ours?
SPEAKER_02I guess it is now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, so there we go. Here's your headphones. Okay. Uh so I was showing Jared the board earlier. He's like, let me see this board, man. You're always saying that words are too small. Can you see those fucking words? They're so tiny.
SPEAKER_02But it's funny because I'm at home like this fucking jackass. Because you make that face, you're like, Yeah, yeah. Can you do that?
SPEAKER_03That's why I wear sunglasses.
SPEAKER_02So he'll do it with his glasses right there. It cracks me up. Yep.
SPEAKER_04That's the buttons.
SPEAKER_02Well, here, show the camera while I'm talking this way it can see. I know, but I wasn't talking, so now I don't want him to see them all.
SPEAKER_04I guess we do.
SPEAKER_02These are our cheat codes. I think they've heard them.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03You know what's awesome? Didn't help one day. That's awesome.
SPEAKER_01Yes, daddy.
SPEAKER_03We're just gonna have to hire an in-house producer, man, to get to fire the buttons off with a good sense of humor that's got timing.
SPEAKER_02Like, boom. All the cool people have them. Yeah, well, they're also rich.
SPEAKER_04You know, they got money.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but they that's how they got a good thing.
SPEAKER_04Speaking of which, uh subscribe, like, and send us money. We would enjoy that. Gotta get the grip.
SPEAKER_03Heavy on the last thing he said.
SPEAKER_04Oh, sorry. Yeah, because Penny needs a new pair of shoes.
SPEAKER_02They don't buy themselves. She needs two pairs of shoes.
SPEAKER_04She does. Penny Penny being a good girl.
SPEAKER_02She's allergic to that. Yeah, she's not being penny pooper.
SPEAKER_04So what's on the agenda, man? What's going on? How'd you do that?
SPEAKER_02Dude, I'm just basically Captain Drunky over here. I was just kidding.
SPEAKER_01It was the best episode. I'm like watching him. I'm laughing. Do you know how many people texted me?
SPEAKER_04Is TK drunk?
SPEAKER_01It was awesome. He's like, no, but man, and his hands are up here. It was the best.
SPEAKER_04I felt so embarrassed. No, it was awesome. I did an episode like that. It was awesome.
SPEAKER_03I was all honestly, dude. I loved it. It might have been the end of our friendship, but whenever I was editing the episode, I was like, I could just delete this right now. It was great, but I considered it. I was like, dude, I do not want to put this out. I enjoyed every minute.
SPEAKER_04I say embarrassing stuff. You know what I do? And I always see it in the fun end.
SPEAKER_03And I was this was my face when I was watching it.
SPEAKER_04I was like cringe. I'm always I'm always doing this to my nose. I'm always like scratching my nose because it it you know my nose. It always itches. I do too.
SPEAKER_02I'm always touching my face.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I I don't do it here.
SPEAKER_03But you know, yeah, that was a gnarly podcast, and like, ah man, it was good. It was thank you. If you're still subscribed, thank you. It was great. Dude, but then like people were hitting me up. Like, is everything okay? And I'm like, what did I then it was?
SPEAKER_02Well, you were also talking about some deep stuff. So of course your friends are gonna reach out that makes a good friend.
SPEAKER_03No, no, I I'm not even saying that as a bad thing. Okay, but I meant like obviously in the state I was in during the episode, I was like, What did I say? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, you don't remember. You were barely there. My dad would hit. I've told Lee and Mom, because I don't drink. Uh I've probably drank five times in my life. I got you. But I've gone to a million parties, been around all kinds of drunk people. Our family growing up is basically a non-stop drunk uh fest. So I've made it doesn't sound very good. I've made a study of it. Like I see each stage as people drink. Oh, there's phases. There's the fun, like, oh, this is awesome. Then there's the you the sentimental, remember that time?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, remember what I'm saying. Freaking love you, dude. I love you. Then it's the handsy, like you get so like lovey dovey. Then you get like, oh, like that's where I was.
SPEAKER_02It was so fucking hilarious. Sorry. I had this.
SPEAKER_03I hope other people thought it was funny because I mean, dude, I was like, that was.
SPEAKER_02But I know you I know well, I don't know you well, but I know you. And I mean, we know each other best. It was cool, man. I it was cool.
SPEAKER_03I was just embarrassed a little bit. My there was some tail tuckage going on. Don't be embarrassed, man.
SPEAKER_02And also the whole point of the whole podcast was that this is your family.
SPEAKER_04This is the shop. You can be. But we just happen to be putting it out to anybody who wants to watch it.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah, yes. These guys do. It was the slurring of the words. It wasn't the content itself. It was like, damn, Taylor, just spit it out. It was perfect.
SPEAKER_02It was the best. It's but making fun of drunk people is hilarious.
SPEAKER_04We knew it was happening. You come on in, you're fine. You can come on in. Yeah. We just that's for the dog. So either entrance.
unknownGeorge in there?
SPEAKER_04Yes, sir.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, man. Dude, but yeah, it was. I mean, dude, so I was some context to the mind state I was in. I was on the boat all day drinking beer. Like, I'm pretty sure I said that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you showed up and I was like, oh shit. This is gonna be a function. Show must go on one. Oh man.
SPEAKER_02It was even funnier because he's like, no, man. No.
SPEAKER_04So like at that one point, I was like, it was great. Yeah, not even on the moon.
SPEAKER_03I'm pretty sure like Lee was talking, and I was like, it was good.
SPEAKER_04I enjoyed that podcast. It was good.
SPEAKER_03And dude, shout out to Cody because he was just talking to me like I was dead sober.
SPEAKER_04You didn't have to cuss, dude. I know. Sorry, man. He did, he did. Cody was like, I don't know how to do that. Yeah, I beat him and so then he trimmed it.
SPEAKER_02It looks good.
SPEAKER_04But it looks good. I think it looks good on it. It does look good. Yeah. It's just it grows outside it goes out sideways because it's new to him.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I'd do him. Yeah. Well, now it's not funny because it's a good thing.
SPEAKER_01I thought what's understood doesn't need to be said.
SPEAKER_03Nice. Damn, Lee, you're on a roll right now, brother. Yeah, he's got them buttons. I'm a habitual button pusher, but not that kind.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_03He definitely looks natural with a beard, I'll say that.
SPEAKER_04He does. It's coming in well. And I don't feel like uh shaving mine yet. We went the month and now we're at a month and a week.
SPEAKER_03You better go big dog status.
SPEAKER_04I might.
SPEAKER_03I might that's a respectable beard.
SPEAKER_04He keeps it that length. That's pretty much what it is. Do you do like maintenance this way? Yours is always that.
SPEAKER_02I don't trim it, really. When I like it. It just won't grow past that? No, well, no, it for sure does. But like once a month or sometimes once every two months, I'll go get a haircut. And I'll be like, go ahead and take care of that too. And she's like, how long? I was like, whatever. I I defer to your expertise. Just not now.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'll grow mine a little, you know, you've seen it, just a little bit longer.
SPEAKER_02Just a little bit longer. I went the other way a little bit longer now. A little bit softer now. Yeah. A little bit softer now. That's how you know you grew up. That's how you know you grew up in a musical family. Yeah. Because if we went, we either go to movies or music. Movie quotes or music, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Ooh, speaking of music, uh, my band Heartstop. I thought you were about to say something else, bro.
SPEAKER_03I was like, no, please.
SPEAKER_04What would you think I was gonna say? Nothing. We're we're adding a bunch of new songs, yeah, and three of the ones we suggested this week are like 90s, 2000s, like rock alternative. Like I'll just say the bands Weezer, Everclear, and Rage Against the Machine.
SPEAKER_00Yo, all dubbies three for three there. That's awesome. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If we can pull them off, those are just the same thing. Those are the suggested songs of our next practice if we're gonna go back.
SPEAKER_02I suggest so many songs, but they don't add nothing to your suck.
SPEAKER_04You want us to play Teletubbies and the Power Rangers. Yeah, bro, the Teletubbies songs.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Jared's like, every time I'm at a Heartstop show, you still haven't dropped the Pokemon theme yet. What's going on here?
SPEAKER_04Worst brother ever. You know what I do want to play is like uh with yourself, like a theme song, like suits. You know, like you know, suits. Do the office theme song, the show. Yeah, but that's overdone.
SPEAKER_03Don't you have Cory still remember what it was? I've seen it, but I don't remember.
SPEAKER_04And so you could do that. You could you guys can pull that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Just for like a theme song. Or do a bunch of a mesh together.
SPEAKER_02Play it as somebody comes on, like as you introduce each person while while somebody's talking in the back room.
SPEAKER_04What you've just said. I've never heard in my entire life. Wow. Nowhere in your incoherent rambling. Did you even come close to what might be considered a rational thought? Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
SPEAKER_02Well, a simple no would have worked.
SPEAKER_03I'll go jump off a bridge now.
SPEAKER_02It's a movie. I do know that. All right, hold on. What is it from? I don't know what it's from. Billy Madison. Billy Madison. There you go.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Business ethics. You're old. Which was funny. I taught that later on at like community college. I know. I remember making it. And I they're all so young. I was like, and I wrote it and I was like, business ethics. And then crickets, dude. Nothing. And I was like, nobody's seen Billy Madison. That is the worst when you try to.
SPEAKER_00It's the only reason I wanted to teach this class. Yeah. You make an awesome movie quote that we all know. Yeah. Young. Yeah. You got a look at TK over here, never gets it.
SPEAKER_01It's the worst, right? I know.
SPEAKER_04Well, we got a lot of people around the table, like Markety, that do not watch movies. They don't watch, man. I'm like, oh my God, just even any movie, think of Forrest Gump, like any famous movie that everybody's seen, he's not seen.
SPEAKER_02I worked with one, what there's several people in the shop that I work at, but one guy works directly next to me, so I'm talking to him more than anybody. He does not watch any movies, he doesn't watch TV. So like I'm like, Uncultured swine. It's it's painful. It is like when we give people we speak in a movie quotes and he's got nothing. And he does that fake laugh, he's like, ha. I'm like, I hate you. You're like, you don't even know you freaking hate. Tell me what it's from.
SPEAKER_04And then he can't be like, well then why is it funny?
SPEAKER_02I'm like, no, because I know his fake laugh. I'm like, I hate you so much.
SPEAKER_03What's crazy is like when somebody in their normal conversation rips off a quote, you know, like we're having a conversation, and they say something from a movie, and you're like, and you say the next part, and they're like, Why'd you say that? And it's like, wait. Yeah, the third person gets it. You weren't you?
SPEAKER_04No, the guy's like, you weren't teeing me up. I thought you were teeing me up. We were about to do a thing here. Oh my god. I thought we were gonna do a best.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. And then now you were less friends than we were before.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. I first I thought we were gonna get closer, but you just screwed that up.
SPEAKER_03The gap just widened.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. That's what I did. Yeah, everything that the everything awesome she just said, well, you just wrecked that. It's like the night when you took Excalibur out of the thing.
SPEAKER_01I like that. I like when he was supposed to be dead and he's like peeking around the corner. He's like, I see him right there.
SPEAKER_04What a stupid movie that ended up being funny.
SPEAKER_02If you know what we're talking about, I like movies like that where it's like, well, no, that one I think was good. But there are many movies like Office Space where when it first came out, it was like mump mump no, dude.
SPEAKER_04That was classic.
SPEAKER_02Bro, when I watched it, I went right downstairs because Robbie lived in the garage below me at the time, and I was like, Robbie, you gotta watch this movie. It was hilarious.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Cult classic. Yeah, it was great. I tell people I work with, like, that's mandatory reading. Like, forget annual training. You gotta watch office flare.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Yeah. How many pieces of flair do you have, like? 15.
SPEAKER_00And going through strangely enough, going through Doge was kind of like the movie Office Space. Yeah. And I've actually, I was listening, I won't say his name, but I heard a Marine General Officer on a uh uh podcast earlier this week, and he said, like, playing a plan or something like that. I'm like, are you kidding me? Like, Office Space is becoming real now. Like that was supposed to be a movie. It's a jump to conclusions, man. Yeah, that we're not supposed to be following the steps in office space.
SPEAKER_04Well, you know what we're really following is idiocracy. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh god.
SPEAKER_04That's the movie. That's almost scary. That's in real life.
SPEAKER_02I watched it when I was younger, and it was of course funny. And then I watched it again when I was older. I was like, oh my god. That's that they were right.
SPEAKER_04That's exactly what we're going through right now.
SPEAKER_02It's idiocracy. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Did you know that that's that that's how Crocs made it famous? The shoes Crocs? That's how they made they needed a cheap shoe that was like just an ugly shoe that everybody in the future just wears this ugly thing and it's like Crocs. And they everyone in the movie has an orange pair of Crocs on, and that's why they became famous.
SPEAKER_03I've owned a pair of Crocs.
SPEAKER_04I have too, but only because of Afghanistan.
SPEAKER_00Why can't I have an idea like that? I have them on right now, and they make me feel very good.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we always made fun of Crocs. But I got them in Afghanistan because they're great for the rocks.
SPEAKER_00You guys make fun of Gurkhas too. I don't know about it.
SPEAKER_04You know how shower shoes are on those rocks. Oh, I know. And how those are on those rocks.
SPEAKER_00I know how they are. They defy gravity, meaning my gravity slipping.
SPEAKER_04And you slip off the side and like breaks the thing.
SPEAKER_00Like, the first night I went was back in Iraq for the second time. I went to use the head and I don't know what happened. I think I got hit by somebody because I mean I skidded across the pavement because I was wearing stupid shower shoes. Yeah. Face planted, hit the curb, everything. I literally looked like I got my ass kicked. My buddy was like, What's wrong with you? I'm like, I yeah, I kind of tripped.
SPEAKER_04Learn how to ice skate on the side. I went to a ass over tea kettle.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_03I've had a pair, yeah, I had, but I worked at a pool, so that was the long and short of my croc ownership.
SPEAKER_04Well, are they non-skid? Are they non-slip?
SPEAKER_03You know, I wasn't really running in them, so I'm not sure. Walking carefully. You know if they don't slip, dude.
SPEAKER_04I never slip, dude. Don't be a dick. I never slip. Yeah, no, that's cool.
SPEAKER_03You know, kind of like, dude, so a kid could go running by right now, and I worked at the pool for so long that there was still something in me that's like, stop running walk.
SPEAKER_02No running, no dive.
SPEAKER_03When they're running in flip-flops, I'm like, boy, are you about to eat shit?
SPEAKER_04You know what you know what great gets me, what really grinds my gears, is when I see kids riding a bike and flip-flops.
SPEAKER_02Ooh, that's an accident we didn't have. Jared, why are you? I saw a dude on a motorcycle because of dad. I saw a dude on a motorcycle with flip-flops, no shorts, no shirt, and his helmet was he had a full face helmet, but it was up here.
SPEAKER_04I'm not gonna say I have never ridden my motorcycle without flip-flops, flip-flops, and a short and shorts. But let me tell you something. Our dad had nine toes. Yeah. Because when he was a kid, you know what he said. He was, yeah. Instead of hanging ten. Instead of hanging ten. But he would uh he was sitting on the handlebars of a bicycle that my aunt was driving was riding. And his feet were dangling in his. Lee, I don't believe him though. Yeah, because it's that toe. That toe. It's that toe.
SPEAKER_02How does that toe get hit in a bicycle?
SPEAKER_04Why would he lie about that?
SPEAKER_02He was probably with some football.
SPEAKER_04And why would grandma back it up? Russian cartel. Yeah, true. That's true. Mexican cartel. It's like Dan comments. Where were you that day, Dad? Where were you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. He's a serial killer. Yeah. It's fact. Weird.
SPEAKER_04Every time dad tells a story, somebody else dies in a different part of the country.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he visited there and somebody died. What are the odds?
SPEAKER_04Or dad was in a Star Trek movie, too.
SPEAKER_03Really?
SPEAKER_04Was that a quote? He went to Universal. I mean, like, geez. He went to Universal Studios and did one of those fake, one of those fake Star Trek movies. So we're watching. Yeah. Is that what you're laughing for? Because you just remembered.
SPEAKER_01No, I know that. But the way he said it, because we do pretty obscure. We do some pretty obscure stuff. Is that a quote? Is that a quote?
SPEAKER_04But he it's like it's like the cheesiest. He's wearing this Klingon thing.
SPEAKER_03You crack me up, dude. I mean, dude, it was honest. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Don't stop doing that. That's what makes you hilarious. Believe in. Do y'all play that? My nose now. My nose is stuffing up.
SPEAKER_02Freaking loser, man. I used to suggest to do. I've given him so many like awesome. What is your favorite awesome music? I can't remember what happened yesterday.
SPEAKER_03What's your favorite one that you were like if you only had one?
SPEAKER_02It's when I'm listening to the radio and I know my brother's voice. Yeah. And I'm like, oh, he would crush this. I feel that. Well, get your shit under control, man. I just sprayed my neck. That's why I'm sneezing. It was stuffing out of it. I don't like it.
SPEAKER_03I don't like it. It's pretty nice outside today. I know that's raining. It is, but it's the uh it's the allergies. Dude, it is.
SPEAKER_02No, it was great because I thought it was gonna rain, so it was like it did rain.
SPEAKER_04Did you hear me when I left the house? No. Gonna rain. You didn't hear me yelling that? No, but mom's like, it's raining. I was like, no, it's gonna rain.
SPEAKER_00Nobody knew.
SPEAKER_04It's over to you, Ollie.
SPEAKER_00Rain. Now back to Ollie for the weather. It was like couldn't see. I mean, it was poor. It was dark that way. It was poor and poor.
SPEAKER_04And I heard it when I pulled up. So I thought it was gonna hit us too.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was on. Was it thundering? Because I was at home. I felt like I heard it thundering.
SPEAKER_04I heard it rumbling in the distance. And so I hurried up and got everything under here, and it was like sun, you know.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we were getting all kinds of stuff. I was in the museum, but it's all good.
SPEAKER_03How's that been going?
SPEAKER_04Museum of the uh Carolina Museum of the Marine.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, great turnout today. Uh it was weird. We would get a trickle of three to five people every, I don't know, 10-15 minutes, but right around 11:30, 12, man, the floodgates opened. Nice. Like the the one o'clock guy, the one o'clock docent came on, like, you brought these freaking people with you. There was uh we brought we for my ship from nine to one, I know we cracked two hundred.
SPEAKER_04Are you walking around with a Billy Club or what do you do?
SPEAKER_00No, just walk around with a badge, talk to people. That's it. Yeah. Yeah. It was really cool. Couple Vietnam veterans in there. Um, yeah, good people. That's awesome, man. It's cool listening to people. You get the spectrum. You get people there just talking about things, and then you get, you know, the the guys that are really the history buffs that really get deep into it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And uh just listening to them.
SPEAKER_04That's cool though, because you get these older guys that were there and they're like, let me tell you what that means. Tell me, dude, that's cool as shit.
SPEAKER_03And then you can use it when you know when you talk to them guests.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I mean, my fellow docent today was Third Force Recon in Vietnam. And he he had some stuff. He had some stuff to talk about. Yeah, it's pretty good. Great museum. Yeah, you people gotta get out there. Like I said this morning, I posted this on the Instagram. I'm like, it's six bucks for active duty. You're not Doing anything for four. Retirees eight bucks. Yeah. Retirees eight bucks. I'm going, dude. And then uh under football. Under 14 bucks for you, civilian. And then for somebody like me that's going to hit 55 and I'm going full on AARP. I'm taking all those discounts. It's 10 bucks for me. I'm I'm getting them all. If you want to give me free gas, it's 10 bucks for you.
SPEAKER_04Your retired Marine would be eight bucks.
SPEAKER_00It is, but for people 55 that are not retired. Charge more for that?
SPEAKER_04But you are retired, so it's eight bucks. Well, Marine Corps retired. Yeah. Or military retired. Yes. Eight dollars. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Right. Why would he go with the ten dollars?
SPEAKER_04That's what I mean. That's he was just saying that as if you're 55 and older.
SPEAKER_00Sport in the calls, man. You gotta throw some score in the game. But yes, sport in the calls.
SPEAKER_04What do you what's your favorite uh exhibit or part of the museum? Some would say what some would call it a museum, which that's not correct.
SPEAKER_00Probably I would say the Beirut one. It's really well done because it's got a full backdrop of the well.
SPEAKER_04We gotta take George there.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we do. And then uh they got a bunch of letters uh from people that were there. Oh, cool. Uh so that's really good. I mean, it's all everything that museum is good. I personally, I'll be honest with you, I like uh the exterior of it. The Great Hall, the um uh eternal flame that's out there. It's a cool place. It's a flame. Yeah, it's uh the flame. Yeah, it's a massive court.
SPEAKER_04The hour marker flame. Yeah, whether we're open or not.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I like that though, man.
SPEAKER_04You know if they're open, whether the flame's on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's right. It's the tribute flame. I thought it was the eternal flame. But no, it's uh that's right. It's great. It's a great place. In fact, I'm planning an event that will benefit Lee and others of his kind, and I'll leave it at that. Are we allowed to say that? White you talk about white mountain? No. No, no. We don't do that. What do you mean his kind? His kind being authors is straight white Protestant. No, you gotta call it saying that. Um, because Lee's got because I said so out and I have some art friends that are authors. I'm thinking of something. Yeah. And I think you're figuring out what I'm thinking, but I'm not gonna say it until yeah, yeah. You've got if you're not, then you gotta give your doctorate back. I mean, I'm thinking about a Ferris wheel right now. It's like Ferris wheel would be fun. Ferris wheel. My mind is ADD, dude. I'm like, are you talking? You're probably thinking activities. No, this is gonna be something good for uh local offers or something. Like a like a book signing or something, something kind of sort of, yeah. But a little bit more awesome than that. But anyway, yeah, that's it. So uh yeah, museum's doing great. Get out there, it's open every day except Monday, and uh, yeah, good time. Fourth of July will be open until two. I'll be there all day, so nine to two. And then uh yeah, back to normal hours, nine to five.
SPEAKER_04You think people will come there on the fourth of July?
SPEAKER_00Uh during the day, it is not fireworks. Yeah, I mean there's no fireworks during the day. Well, yeah, there are if you're just a yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Is it for is it calling for rain? I have yet. I haven't looked.
SPEAKER_02It's too far. Even if it wasn't even if it was next day. Yeah, especially. We don't play them until we play on the side. You play 50% of the time and still keep your job. Or 70%. 60% or 80%. The percentage doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_04Y'all are playing here on the third, right?
SPEAKER_00The third you're playing here on the 26th. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So be ready, man. On the 26th, Heart Stop is gonna be playing over there, and uh, we have some new songs, and we're gonna be rocking the the city.
SPEAKER_00Over there being the White Gazebo. Pug Pavilion here in Swansboro, North Carolina.
SPEAKER_04Nice. Right behind George's cigars in Swansboro, North Carolina. So check us out, man. Come on down. Come on. We keep on saying, come on down. I know if you live in the area, uh actually a lot of our friends are here a lot, you know, because of the show and stuff. They're either they're gonna get on or they're just gonna sit on the sides, which Penny's the only one on the side right now. Carl went inside.
SPEAKER_02Even if you're not kicked him outside. She's like, This is my couch. She's like, She's goots.
SPEAKER_00This is my house. Even if you're not in the area, take a flight.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, dude, come check out. And come see Heart Stop.
SPEAKER_00Come to the museum and then come see Heartstop.
SPEAKER_04No, I meant come be on the podcast.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's you could do all three in one day.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, check out HeartStop on uh Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and MySpace.
SPEAKER_00You could literally do the museum and uh Heartstop on one day.
SPEAKER_01That's awesome. How many people miss that?
SPEAKER_04I say I know, but how many, how many like that's they're like MySpace. And I was like, oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Sorry. That's the best. This is 2026.
SPEAKER_03No, so what you really need to do is just get a long ass XLR cable and go from your main out of your stack and go into one of these inputs and record your show.
SPEAKER_04One input though for the whole if it's mixed down. We have a mixed down board that does that. It's in my music. It's Dan's, but it's in my music room right now. And it's a board that we could just plug in and it just records everything. It's also a mixing board if it records everything. Then when you post like a console. Yes, but when you play it, you can adjust. In real time. Yep. Adjust in real time. So it's like a front of house board essentially. But on that channel, like as you're playing it back, you can adjust on that channel. Oh, so you can produce on it too. Oh, yeah. I got you. So you might need to help us out with that.
SPEAKER_03That's more in my realm. You're about to get volunteered. Yeah, you might need to come over to the box.
SPEAKER_04I would do that. But you guys have a guy, right? We have a sound guy, but I'm saying he's not really like a producer.
SPEAKER_02I heard Lee's got a lot of guys. Wow. Look at him. Shut up, dude. Sounds like you got one more. You hear him? Look at him.
SPEAKER_03He was eyeballing you, Lee. What do you want me to do? Write it down?
SPEAKER_02Like I can put it in Braille for you if you want me to. It's a classic.
SPEAKER_04So Taylor wanted to be on, but you know she wouldn't even talk.
SPEAKER_02I know. I would have given her so much shit. She wouldn't have been able to talk.
SPEAKER_04And she did. I'm like, uh, Taylor, you alright? Settle down over there. I know.
SPEAKER_02I told her husband Caleb, I was like, just put her on a podcast. That'll get her shut up.
SPEAKER_04That's true, that's true. That's the only way, too. Yeah, that's it. She doesn't watch the show, so we can say whatever we want about her.
SPEAKER_02We were in there and uh Taylor asked her friend, she was like, uh, where's Bear Island? And they were talking about it. I was like, be careful. I heard there's a buried treasure there, but it's cursed. She's like, What? I was like, You're the worst sister ever.
SPEAKER_04Worst sister ever. Your brother wrote a novel, though.
SPEAKER_02You said that. You said your brother wrote a novel. She's like, Well, now I know what it's about. I was like, Yeah, but you didn't get to the aliens part. The part where the aliens get there. I told you about book two. You're so stupid.
SPEAKER_04I am working on book two, though, and I have a I told you about it.
SPEAKER_02Is it a sequel? You did, but there was no.
SPEAKER_04Obviously, it's not that. Yeah, it's a sequel, but if you read the first book, you'll wonder how there's a sequel. Yeah. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02I'm still wondering. I only read the first two chapters. I'm not gonna lie.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's all right.
SPEAKER_02I want to guess, but I'm not gonna.
SPEAKER_04It was my first book. I was trying it out. I didn't know what I didn't know. I don't know how, but I I wrote in a way that I would want person not to put the book down. And Captain Joe, who doesn't read books, he's like, I don't read books. I read like maybe two books in the last 20 years, and yours is one of them. And he read it in like a few days because it's about this area and it's about boating and stuff. So he was interested in so it interested him.
SPEAKER_02I would imagine people from here would like it more because they're like, Oh, I'm it's a reference point.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, he loved it. But I was like, Man, that's so cool. Because you don't want people like reading your shit because it's like, oh, please don't tell me if you liked it or didn't like it.
SPEAKER_03Don't tell me it's uh please don't tell me it's a and you also don't want to read something that you have to grind through.
SPEAKER_04No, and he's and it's like a page turner, you don't want to put it down, you know, because it's like there's always and when the chapter ends, you're like, all right, fuck, I'm gonna read one more chapter before I go to bed, you know. Yep. And I wrote it like that on purpose. But part two, I gotta remember how to do that. Yeah. And I have to bring it together in a way that it's so hard because I I made this world. Yeah. You know, I made like magic and you know, stuff like that.
SPEAKER_02Spoiler alert, it's a terrible book.
SPEAKER_03Don't read it.
SPEAKER_04It's a horrible book.
SPEAKER_03Did you read it? I read like the first three chapters.
SPEAKER_04And then when I wrote this nonfiction book, it was research and it was like research based. I'm not gonna read that one. Uh you know, experience-based as well. Uh, you know, my experiences, other people's experiences, but it's uh like going back to like the grinding through the thing.
SPEAKER_03Like you know, it gets really good in chapter four. I had to do that. Same thing with TV shows. People are like, it's good. Once you get to season two, it's amazing. It's like, well, what no? Yeah, yeah. Should I just start there? Solange.
SPEAKER_04Solange told me to read The Anatomy of Peace. It's a good book, so I'm not putting this book down. It's a leadership book, but it's fiction, but it's kind of a parable. It's like, you know, listen to this as you'll you'll learn these leadership things. It says what it needs to say in the first couple pages, and then for the next 200 and some odd pages, it keeps saying those same things. It's like freaking dude, I get it, man. Why are you saying that's a good thing?
SPEAKER_02I think Jackson, I think Jackson were talking about how like some books that have repetitive words that they overuse. Yeah. Like it's hard to read it because you're like, oh my god, I'd learn a new word.
SPEAKER_04The murder mystery book that I'm uh reading part two of, she keeps using the word macabre, which is like horrible, horrifying, dead, like whatever. But she uses it all the time. You overuse it so macabre.
SPEAKER_03Because you overuse it. That's like a one and done. And then it takes her a few books.
SPEAKER_04She's an excellent author. I'm no, um, she's way better than me, so but we can still have opinions and stuff, you know what I mean? Yeah, obviously. So what I've been doing on book two that I'm writing, I've been taking the whole transcript, the manuscript, putting it in chat GPT, and saying, what am I repeating too much?
SPEAKER_02That's how does it flow?
SPEAKER_04Because it can read it real quick, and it'll be like, you already mentioned it up here, and then you're mentioning it down here and down here and down here. I removed 3,500 words like last week. I was like, nope, cut synonyms, cut paragraphs, cut paragraphs, cut paragraphs, cut it. I don't want to repeat the same lesson I already gave up here. I don't want to keep it.
SPEAKER_02Paradigm, dude. Yeah, man.
SPEAKER_04Because I was talking about the same thing. Prolonged. And like you go back and well, that's what this book that I'm reading did. And I don't want that, because then you're gonna feel the same way when I read this book. It's gonna be like, okay, you've already said that. So that's what I like ChatGPT for. Like, read what I wrote, tell me if I'm repeating myself. Now I'll go back, I'll read through it, and I'll I'll flow better and not have to mention that other thing. Which one and I just build the chapters out from there.
SPEAKER_03Which one do you like writing better? Fiction or non?
SPEAKER_04Fiction is I don't know if it's easier. Fiction's harder, I think.
SPEAKER_03You gotta be way more imaginable. It comes from your brain, yeah. Fiction's harder because it comes from your brain.
SPEAKER_04Nonfiction is fun because you fun. No, it's fun because you're doing like you do research. You fucking you research. It's not just because it came out of my brain. I'm also gonna back that up with what peers have said. You know, you know, these PhDs have said this about this, and they didn't have a lot of different things.
SPEAKER_03Is there a bibliography in Because I Said So?
SPEAKER_04What's that?
SPEAKER_03Is there a bibliography in Because I Said So?
SPEAKER_04There's a there's a reference section, yeah. With citations, yeah.
SPEAKER_02I think that it all depends on the subject because while you were saying that, I was like, ugh, that sounds boring. But then I started thinking of topics that I like.
SPEAKER_04Emotional intelligence, because we were talking about that earlier. That's a whole chapter in the broadcast. Promotion beyond competence is another chapter.
SPEAKER_02You can tell that these are the things like you do have a passion for, because every time we go somewhere and you see blatant horrible service, you're like, that's because of this, that's because of this. This person doesn't do this.
SPEAKER_04Let me give you an example. Yesterday or the day before, I was walking through Walmart. I'm walking through Walmart. First of all, the employees don't care about not in the least uh shoppers or customers at all. They're not taught to care at freaking all. I've never seen a company that does not care whether their employees treat people well or not. Walmart, doing a terrible job. But they're so big, it doesn't matter. People are gonna go there because they they own the market, they own the supply chain, they own, you know, they own the prices. So they're always they don't care that the customers hate going there. They don't care that they have this terrible reputation. But if you just fix the employees, you wouldn't have such a terrible reputation. I'm walking through. This girl is on not, she's on her phone, full Walmart app, just walking, not looking, walks right in front of me. I have to stop so I don't hit her, and then I have to wait while she sits there and plays on her phone, just keeps walking the whole way, doesn't pay attention, just I'm watching her, cutting people off, doesn't give one flying fuck about anybody. Wow. Not a manager in situation, not a manager in situation. No, that's not you're fired. Yeah. Or you can or you can do your job. Put your phone away.
SPEAKER_02But isn't it isn't it getting harder to fire people now?
SPEAKER_04No, North Carolina's a right to work state. You can fire anybody for anything or nothing at all.
SPEAKER_03I was talking to somebody last night and they're go ahead, go ahead.
SPEAKER_04You shouldn't have to fire somebody. You should train that out of there. That's my point. There is no training.
SPEAKER_02You can't tell me there's some people that just need to be fired. Right, and 100%.
SPEAKER_04But try to train them first. Try to train them first. And if you can't train them, because they mommy and daddy never held me accountable, so I don't have to. That's my own. Go work somewhere else. I'll put somebody in here who can do it. And that's what you do.
SPEAKER_03I was talking to somebody last night. Crazy that you're on this topic right now, and I thought this was egregious, insane. They said somebody at their company could no-call no show three days in a row. Still not get fired. No, the third time is like the firing time. Like the first time should have been the first time. Dude, you're done. Yeah, no call, no show. That's what I'm saying. That means you quit. All right, don't come in again.
SPEAKER_04Thank you. I had a guy, I had a manager when I first got over there. He he had tried for the job too and didn't get it. Obviously, I did. And uh, so he was real bitter and like, you know, he's like, Who's this guy? You know, like he knows nothing about me. He doesn't know that I'm way more qualified. Oh, who's a Marine? Yeah, so was I way longer and way higher rank and way more degrees. Like, you don't know anything about me, motherfucker. But I didn't say anything, and I was, you know, the way I am. And so he gets on, he like when he's quitting, he's gonna quit because he's tired of this other manager and another person she knows. And uh, and I'm like, oh, well, okay. I thought, you know, I never, you know, I thought we were working on things and I was gonna da-da-da. He was like, Yeah, you said that, but I just I feel like it's gonna be the same as everywhere else, blah, blah, blah. And I was like, Well, I don't know why you feel that way. You told me about this, I handled it, you told me about that, I handled it. I, you know, I'm doing all these things, but it just seems like you're still not happy. So blah, blah. He was like, Well, we'll see how I feel after the weekend. I was like, Oh, no, no, no, I accept your resignation. Like, you don't you don't get to say that and then yeah, he was like, Well, I thought it was no no no, you just said you're resigning, I accept your resignation.
SPEAKER_03Threatened me with it. New sheriff in town, but we're not gonna have these conversations every year.
SPEAKER_04And I that happened a couple times when people when people were like, Well, maybe no, I was like, No, no, no, I accept your resignation. Thank you. We'll see on your way out. If you want to go see AHR, you can. If you don't want to, there's the door.
SPEAKER_00You know, back to the customer service thing. This is people what people aren't getting with AI. First of all, every company that's implemented AI as a customer service tool, uh failure. You all suck. And I really don't want to. It's the same companies that did it for press one to go to here and press two to go here. And I'll feel bad if they got all of them. I have yet to call into something where I needed to get something done. I was like, okay, I was a good AI tool. What's going to win out is good customer service. What's going to win out is still the human, the human interaction, showing you care, you know, doing that kind of thing. This half-assed garbage.
SPEAKER_03I think I was just gonna say that's a half step on management or ownership's behalf to just be like, nah, just let the computer do it.
SPEAKER_02I think the whole most horrible part about this is only the older generation suffers for it because the younger generation, one, they're the horrible people that we're dealing with, and two, they're growing up with other horrible people around them. Yes, that's the standard. Yeah, so they don't know that that's rude, that that's you know, you're being obnoxious, that you're you know, all these things. And it's just terrible because it's becoming like you said, it's the standard, it's expected. Like when you go there and and like I'm me as an older person, I'm like, that was rude. And like a younger guy's like, was it? Like, that's not weird.
SPEAKER_00Well, and that's where we gotta not allow it. You know, we gotta start speaking up. Like, so I'm hosting an event coming up here soon, and I'm gonna make it very clear to the audience. Well, my number one, it is my number one pet peeve when somebody's talking and there's sidebar conversations going on in the office. That's right. I hate it. And I'm just gonna tell them straight up, it's my number one pet peeve. If I see you doing it, I'm gonna stop the speaker, I'm gonna call you out and have you talk about what you're talking about. Yeah, because you're more important than that. We want to be included too. Let us know. Yeah, I love it. I hate it. I was just at a conference where people were having full-on conversations. I'm like, what are you doing here? Why are you even here? You didn't have to come here.
SPEAKER_02Like, and not only that, you're ruining it for everyone around you, but no one matters but you, so go ahead.
SPEAKER_00Oh, before I forget, shameless plug for AI. So there's uh two guys out of Raleigh, uh, Martin Brossman and Dr. Justin Rose. They're giving a free class at uh Costa Carolina Community College on the 11th of July. That was the class I took last year that I'm like, okay, I'm in. I believe in AI, I'm gonna use it, I'm gonna employ it. Uh I mean it's a necessary evil at this point. I mean, it's it's can't put the tooth back in the toothpaste. Yeah.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Reverse toothpaste. But anyway, 11th of July, Coastal Carolina Community College, free class. Uh just go out there and check it out on AI. It's it's worth your time. It's all day, but it's nice worth your time.
SPEAKER_03Um I was gonna ask you a question about your book. I don't know if you covered this or not. And it's not really a leadership thing, but talking about customer service and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_04The second book I'm writing is customer service. Okay.
SPEAKER_03This may be going into that. If you're talking about like having a counsel an employee or someone's not performing correctly, or you witness an incident where they were rude. We're in this and you're talking about the younger generation. Now we have entered in you know, uh people my age too are a victim of it as well. Where we are in this thing now where direct communication is looked at as offensive.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, well, we gotta fight against that. In fact, I got another friend of mine that's writing a book completely on effective communication. In fact, she just uh ponged on some real estate agents because they were complaining about why do we only want you know, why would people feel like real estates have to do all their services for free? And her response is back, it's not about doing it for free. It's you guys suck at communicating as real estate agents. And also not hanging on real estate agents. No, I mean I got my license too.
SPEAKER_04Insert anything there, but as far as as far as the employee thing, coaching is where that comes in. So these young people have if you know, let's say that they've grown up homeschooled, nothing against that, nothing wrong with that, but they don't have the social skills, they don't, they're scared to talk to people, they're scared to talk to adults. Coaching means that I'm going to first show them how to do it, they're gonna follow and shadow me and watch me do it and talk to people, and then I'm gonna be next to them and say, now talk to those people and say, hello, how are you doing? Blah, blah, blah. Just to get them out of their shell. And then you can you can you can see the ones that take a little bit longer, and you don't finish coaching them until that well, you never finish coaching, but you don't back off until you know that they're ready to be by themselves. Otherwise, they're gonna get right back in their shell and not talk to anybody as soon as you're not around.
SPEAKER_00Reinforcing fires on that one. So uh for the past year or two year year or two now, I've been going out to uh Dixon High School, it's through Hansel Business Journal. Um we do mock interviews, like mock uh job interviews, and I was expecting you know the high school kids to be head down, no eye contact, no personality. To your point on coaching lead, these kids are good. Like, I'm I'm how how I I asked all of them how often did you rehearse this, or how many times? Like, uh I really didn't. Our teacher just explained to us what to do, and we did it. So shout out to Dixon and who's ever trained them. Uh because yeah, we hear it all the time. The kids suck, they don't want to interact. But now I was I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with the bulk of the kids. There were a couple that were just I and they were just straight nervous, but um the bulk of them were really good. They were really and that's the thing.
SPEAKER_04Like, whether you're talking about a job interview, uh a board in the military for meritories promotion, um, you know, uh just anything like that, when you're super nervous, what does it help to do? Do a mock interview, do a mock board, do a mock keep on doing it so that you can keep feeling that nervousness over and over and finding out how you answer questions through that nervousness. Jared, did that just bump the camera, so just make sure we're still in it if you could. I feel like it's more to me, but yeah, that's how I got bumped. Yeah, that should be good. Anywho there. Alright, speaking of Jared, you got something coming up, don't you?
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to can we transition?
SPEAKER_00Sure.
SPEAKER_04We got other. Are we transitioning? So Jared's transitioning and uh sorry. No, so Jared and I watch these YouTube videos on you know survival camping and things like that. YouTube uh outdoor boys, right? Things like that, the show alone. Well, Jared and our brother-in-law Caleb went out camping just to kind of practice some of the stuff. And Jared's been wanting to go out solo camping for a long time, or just going out, you know, camping in the woods. So he's gonna go, and I'll let you tell it, but he's decided to do this. And you've got a bunch of gear now, and you're go for it.
SPEAKER_02Well, the first time I went with Caleb was because he's both a marine who's your brother-in-law. Yes, okay.
SPEAKER_04Taylor's husband, you you meant Taylor, she was here earlier.
SPEAKER_02The original Taylor.
SPEAKER_04The OG Taylor 2.0. She's older than you. She's older than him. We're old, dude.
SPEAKER_02But um you know, he also did this when he was a kid, so he knows all the little tricks and stuff. So I wanted to go out with somebody to kind of pick his brain. You know, where to set up, how to how to notice a good campsite, all this, all the information. And uh he it was really great because he was a I learned a lot of of what not to do. You know what I mean? That's it. I feel like that's a lot of no, he should have. He was very bad. No, I'm saying though, like thanks, Caleb. Definitely do it that way. He gave me a lot of information because I would have done it wrong. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04They caught no fish, killed no animals, had no berries. No fire. Hey, you want to go hit McDonald's? Yeah. Well, we slept out there though. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Cuddled.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02No, we actually bought the kids and everything. It was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_04But this one's gonna be just you by yourself.
SPEAKER_02Just me by myself. Um, I I planned, I I checked moderate to easy courses because it's my first time by myself, and I wanted sights, I wanted like things to see, all this great stuff. So I found two um two trails that link together that basically make a loop. It's 10 miles total, so it's gonna be easy. Virginia. Yeah, it's Shenandoah. Oh, but it's central Shenandoah, apparently. And I and I didn't know this, but the in Virginia, I mean it goes way up and it goes way down, but in Virginia there's three um and we're from Virginia.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. And he's lived there his whole life.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but this is like it doesn't matter.
SPEAKER_04I know, it's it's above, it's it's to the north. I know, I know, I know.
SPEAKER_02But anyway, um, it's supposed to be really scenic, so I'm really excited for that. There's like off this ledge, and you see all of the valley, and then there's a lot of people. Well, you remember natural bridge and all that. Yeah. But that was like, you know, a bunch of people all around. Like I'm gonna be out there by myself, just me and me and you know, it's gonna be awesome.
SPEAKER_04Aren't you worried about like bears and stuff?
SPEAKER_02Well, I brought bear spray, but a guy at work was like, dude, if you if you get attacked by a bear, like you just you went out, like you're the fucking man, like you're awesome. I was like, Well, now hold on. If you find my body and I got like bloody knuckles and I'm tore up and everything like that, I was the man. But if you find my body and it's all the all the marks are on the back, I was a little wimp. Like I ran. I ran like a little girl. And it was just hilarious the way he said it. He was like, Oh, you'd be the man.
SPEAKER_05I was like, that depends. There's some depending factors.
SPEAKER_02There's there's the caveat there. It depends on where the marks are. If they're all right. Do you need a gun? I would like to get a gun eventually, but I mean for this camping trip. No. According to Caleb.
SPEAKER_04Not that, not that I'd let you borrow one of my guns.
SPEAKER_02You can't borrow somebody's guns.
SPEAKER_04No, do you want to borrow my bullet in there? I have a K-bar.
SPEAKER_02No, I have all the uh machete, knife, all the all the proper tools that I need to survive out of the club.
SPEAKER_00I'm not hunting. So Bush crafting. I'm bringing my food in. What a bitch.
SPEAKER_04What kind of shit do we carry in the Marine Corps? Come on.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, we can't.
SPEAKER_04We had our life on our back. But that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02My pack is, I think, 37 pounds. I have four days of, I'm sorry, yeah, four days of food. I'm only going out.
SPEAKER_04Do me a favor before you before so let's tonight.
SPEAKER_02You want me to will you a bunch of stuff? No, no, no. Let's take a look at that baby. That's tonight. We'll watch paranormal.
SPEAKER_04We'll watch paranormal activity in the Blair Witch project.
SPEAKER_00Okay. And to top it off for the bear watch the Reverend. So it's all be good. What's that a sound? The only question I have. That ain't scare me. Because everybody wants the answer to this one. Naked or clothed?
SPEAKER_02Oh, I'm going to be clothed.
SPEAKER_01Nobody wants to see this.
SPEAKER_04I promise. You get all set up.
SPEAKER_02But it's also there's other things.
SPEAKER_04Anything could happen, and I don't want to be caught in the fun ass naked with my jingle jingles out.
SPEAKER_02It is a it's a national park, and lots of people go there. I'm not trying to be like, hey, how are you guys doing it?
SPEAKER_04And that's how I found myself on a list. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Like the bear attack does happen, and it's like he's naked, and it's like his clothes are folded, you know. He's real big.
SPEAKER_01And I know the bear did the bear didn't do that shit. The bear ran away.
SPEAKER_02It was the weirdest thing. I've never seen it. No, but it's gonna be real. I'm I'm really excited about it. Uh there's still a lot of information, I'm sure I don't know, but is there water nearby? No, there's a lot, I'm specifically mapped it out to have water stock like uh springs and lakes and things.
SPEAKER_04You're not fishing though, are you? No. So you're gonna have dad's little pocket rod that expands into a if you want to take that. It's a little it goes into a little bag and then expands out to a regular size fishing rod. Well, it's cool, dude.
SPEAKER_02That's going to be eventual. I'm gonna as I get better at hiking, right now I'm bringing my food out there because I've yet to find a fairly fine. You know what I mean? I can't there's no sandwich running around that I can kill and eat. But eventually I'm gonna I want to eventually hunt and you know do everything out there. So you're gonna be moving. That's the eventual goal.
SPEAKER_03Spot to spot, or are you gonna just set up in a one spot and then just chill out?
SPEAKER_02Well, it's it's five miles in and I was gonna set up my camp there and then five miles out. But if I if I'm having fun and really enjoying it, there's another loop that I can go to to make it three days.
SPEAKER_04Um, you gotta tear it down and set it back up somewhere else. Yeah. Uh oh, it's super easy.
SPEAKER_02We did that all the time. It's super easy. I know. All the equipment, all the equipment that I have is just it's really easy. But I'm also gonna be going. I've always been the kind of person that's like, all right, now what? Okay, let's do the next thing. Okay, now the next thing. And when I did my practice run um with my pack on me, I went to a park, I'm sorry, uh uh nature trail where I live, and it was only three miles, but just to see how I could handle it and I was just walking the whole thing.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_02And I steadily each hour I sped up a little bit.
SPEAKER_04Oh, this is the one you caught and told me about.
SPEAKER_02So I called you up, I was like, what's a good for us?
SPEAKER_04But I didn't, I don't, I you need to look that shit up before you do it, dumbass.
SPEAKER_02Well, here's the thing is I've had this thing for a while, and I don't go out and do these things, you know what I mean? So I've never really needed.
SPEAKER_04Jared doesn't know, so I've been shocked by my defibrillator. Yeah, you have a defibrillator too? He does too. Really? Once yeah, once I found out I had this, he went and got tested. He has it too. Like a jerk. And they were like, you need one. Worst big brother ever. So we're always like rubber. Big brother ever. Whenever we hug, like tank.
SPEAKER_02We tell the kids that you're gonna sparse. Yeah, wonder powers. We tell the our nephews when we hug with it.
SPEAKER_04When your heart rate gets up to about 200, it'll charge for eight seconds, it'll check again to see if you're still there, and then it'll shock you. I mean, 200's gnarly to get you down. It didn't get anywhere near.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you're you're doing a little bit of a big thing.
SPEAKER_04But our what our thing does is once it gets up to 140, 150, then it's gonna start skyrocketing because it's like, oh, we're speeding up, let's go, let's keep going. That's what our thing does. Oh because the electricity between the two sides doesn't, this is kind of stupid turn, but doesn't really speak anymore. It's not communicating. The muscle is turning into fat on our hearts. Stupid. Don't hurt yourself.
SPEAKER_02I wasn't doing anything like that. I was literally just walking, so it did get a little high, but I didn't realize it until I was done, and I looked at each hour and I was like, ooh, hey, what's the what should it be? What's our range again? Yeah, so so for this trip, I plan on. So he crawled down on all fours on the way back. No, seems like I would raise it more doing that. But I was gonna I have planned stops because I've checked all the maps, I did all the research that I know how to do. Like I'm hoping I don't forget something, but we'll see. Uh, you know, I got my little camp chair, I'm gonna break break it out, enjoy the view, have some snacks, and I'm gonna purposely slow myself down because I've just always been the kind of person. Okay, now what? Okay, let's go. Let's get to the let's do it. I feel like camping is a conduit. Bring a book. No, I I well, I have books on my phone. I'm not gonna bring everybody. Your phone is electricity. I don't like reading books. Uh oh, I gotcha. Like, you know, this dungeon. Really? Yeah, I prefer to.
SPEAKER_04Me and Jackson and Madison were talking about this. Madison's digital, me and Jackson are book. I need a physical book.
SPEAKER_02Madison was awesome.
SPEAKER_04I love a physical book. Do you like a physical book or a Kindle?
SPEAKER_03If I was gonna read, it would have to be I was gonna read.
SPEAKER_01What a loser this guy.
SPEAKER_03It would probably be a book. I definitely couldn't do it on my phone. Too tempting with distractions otherwise. It would if it was gonna be digital, it would have to be just a dedicated device, like a Kindle.
SPEAKER_04Without internet, yeah, yeah, yeah. No, man, I'm a physical book guy. You know, I like to see where I'm I like to feel. Kindles are great, but it tells you like the percentage of the book that you're through. Yeah. And the comp the competitor in you is like, I can do more. Yeah, you just scroll. You just keep scrolling. Well, you swipe the page. It depends. You can scroll as well. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I like it. It's really nice, man. It's like you could they have different settings for like lighting and all that stuff. I can't. And you can have thousands of books on there on this one little tab.
SPEAKER_03Maybe I might like that.
SPEAKER_04It's very good. So like if you're on deployment. If you're on deployment, that's the way to go. You get all these books and you don't have to worry about it. But if I'm at home, dude, I like a physical book.
SPEAKER_03This is gonna sound crazy, but you know what the cool thing is about buying physical books? When you have people over, they're gonna be like, this dude's pretty smart. Yeah. I I've been purging my books. We have too many books. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04My apartment smells of rich mahogany. Uh kind of a big deal. Stacks of books upstairs that we're gonna take the second Charles to donate or whatever, because it's like once I read it.
SPEAKER_02Is that one of those places where it's just a little like in random places? Find those. Those are awesome. If you want to be like, you can put one in, you take one out. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Find those there. And go around neighborhoods just stuffed. They have them all over me. I have a lot of novels and stuff that I've already read that Gina's read that you know, we're just I don't need this anymore.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Some of them I want to read. Like, I'll never get rid of books like The Princess Bride. It's my one of my favorite books of all time.
SPEAKER_02You know, they've rewrote that.
SPEAKER_04Read read it again. Now I'm going to go. You'll have a new appreciation for it, dude. They got me. I've read it like twice. I think I read it twice.
SPEAKER_02How do you know? Are you sure? I'm gonna have to reread it.
SPEAKER_04So in 2008, I have it on my phone. In 2008, I was on the ship. I was on a ship's deployment. And my buddy, he was very smart, had his degree in math, and uh, and he was kind of a dork. Loved him to death, really dorky though. Sounds like super smart. And he was like, You need to read A Princess Pride. And I'm like, Is that how he said it? Yeah. And I'm like, what do you what? I've seen the movie. He's like, trust me, dude. Trust me. You gotta read A Princess Pride. And I was like, alright. And he had it, and he's like, here, take it. And I was like, dude, I've seen the fucking movie. I mean, it's but we're on the ship. I've seen the movie and I love the movie.
SPEAKER_02I know you don't like Princess.
SPEAKER_04Hold on. I love the movie. So I was like, you know what? We're on the ship. I got nothing else to do. So I start reading it, and it's different than the movie. But the same, you know, it's but it's different, and then it's like the same, but it's like and there's a lot of that, but it's a lot of that. It's like, the fuck? So he's borrowing from he did that on purpose, and it really fucks you up. And when you read it again, it's gonna blow your mind, boy. Yeah, you're gonna be like, dude, how clever was this guy? Because look how many people he fooled. He got me. Everybody. Listen, check out a princess bride or the princess bride.
SPEAKER_02Um it's like the North Face.
SPEAKER_04You've never heard of the Princess Bride? I have. I've never heard of it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I need a hard copy book, it's cheaper when I lose it. Yeah. Like the first copy of your own.
SPEAKER_04You know what my problem is I keep on lending my books to people and then forgetting who has them.
SPEAKER_02So if you have my fucking book and you're talking about wanting to get rid of them anyway. Those ones, those ones.
SPEAKER_04No, not the ones. No, because I lent my flight instructor a book and he still has it, but it's just a thin little book. I could buy that again.
SPEAKER_02You ain't no pilot. You ain't no pilot.
SPEAKER_04Jared's just jealous because I fly airplanes and he doesn't. Yeah. I flew airplanes and he doesn't. That changed fast. The wording. Yeah, yeah. I hated it when to hell. What was cool though? What was really freaking cool was me and my brother, because our dad was a pilot and we used to fly.
SPEAKER_02It was sentimental, but I when we got up there, I'm like, yep, this is this is I don't like this.
SPEAKER_04And we were taking off Jared's like video. And I don't know. Me and my little brother are flying an airplane. And my dad would have been like, He'd have dug it. Man, he'd have dug it. He'd have dug it.
SPEAKER_02But it was sentimental, but I don't, it's just I don't know. It means nothing to me. That sounds horrible because I love you. I love my dad. I mean, that's why I was his favorite, though. It's fun to me. And yeah, I worked hard at that. He kept liking me, and I'm like, no, that guy. No, but I just don't. I don't get any. It doesn't.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. You never the switch never swatched. Nope. Yeah. Never sweat. Once. Never sweat. Never sweats. Never switched. The switch never swatched.
SPEAKER_02I think it sweats.
SPEAKER_04I get it though. I get that. And I get that because it didn't it didn't click for me until later in life either. Because I remember when we were kids were like phoning out my friends. I'm tired of being sick in the airplane. And but then but then throughout the Marine Corps, I was like, and I'm flying on 53s. And then I was like, God, I miss being in the air, you know? I have different aircraft.
SPEAKER_02It's not that I dislike it, it's that it doesn't do anything for me.
SPEAKER_04But then that's when it clicked for me, and I was like, oh, I missed it.
SPEAKER_02You know, Robbie and Mary are still scared to fly.
SPEAKER_04They're terrified. Robbie is terrifying terrified.
SPEAKER_02I want to go flying with him.
SPEAKER_04He panics. Me too. I want to take him up in a Cessna.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that'd be the best. No, because then he'd just throw up.
SPEAKER_04Be like, but he's sitting in the back. He'll sit in the back with you. Spew. I'll be the pilot. Dad was way better than me, but it's okay. I'll be no big deal.
SPEAKER_02Don't worry. What's this button do?
SPEAKER_03What's the difference in sensation feeling-wise uh as far as like flying commercial rather than in a few years?
SPEAKER_04You can feel every bottom tiny little bit. So you're going to have every pocket, you're like wooing. It's like being in a go-kart, but way up there in the air. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But it's all up and down. Go-kart is like airplanes like And that's only if there's turbulence.
SPEAKER_04It's not like it's that like a big thing. When you get high, you yeah, you're you're well it depends on if they're you can you could be just sailing along science, you know. But a heavy ass jet that's flying a lot faster and is very heavy, has a lot more thrust, is gonna be cutting through that a lot easier. So isn't gonna bump around as as easily. But you know, every aircraft established experiences turbulence, even when you're landing in a commercial, you know, flying around a commercial aircraft, you've done that.
SPEAKER_02You can push, you can literally get out and push the Cessna around. It's so light.
SPEAKER_04They have a toe bar for it, and you just pull it where you want it. And that's what I love about it. The four-seater, but the 172 that I fly doesn't truly fit for adult like men in it, right? Useful load-wise. Like you can't really when you do weight and balance, that's too much weight for for the center of gravity, all that kind of crap. But a 182, which grandpa used to have a or have or fly a 182, which is the step up from that, is a is a lot more powerful. 1180 around there, 1150, 1180 is about the useful load. So four grown ass men, golf clubs in the back, you know.
SPEAKER_02You know, oh my god, who the hell trying to do?
SPEAKER_04I'm just saying, that's a that's a family, that's a family traveling aircraft that you can fly down to damn Florida.
SPEAKER_03What does one of those things run you? He knows because he's just looking them up.
SPEAKER_04150. I can get one for 150.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, that doesn't even seem dollars.
SPEAKER_04And we're talking about a 1960s aircraft.
SPEAKER_03If you were gonna buy a brand new 172, how much? Like, oh, five, six hundred thousand, seven hundred thousand. That's the number I was more looking for.
SPEAKER_04Four or five hundred thousand for a 172. I was looking for more than price at 182. Definitely. Definitely, definitely uh $45,000.
SPEAKER_02But back to my camp, and I want all of your views. If you guys have any advice, anything like that, put it in the comments.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, advice on camping. Advice on camping for you. Clip this.
SPEAKER_02But like hiking, backcountry camping, things like that. Yes.
SPEAKER_04Give advice to Jared if you know things, because he's about to try it. You have to say, clip this, and when we did that, now they're paying attention. Yeah, go for it. Give me stuff, give me food, give me fire, give me that which I desire. He's not taking his hammock. Is that a is that a problem?
SPEAKER_03You got an Eno?
SPEAKER_04He's got a fire starter.
SPEAKER_03Never mind. He's got a water filter. So no.
SPEAKER_04He's got a mattress pad.
SPEAKER_02I have my I have my pad sleeping bag. The R value is I think five R value. My sleeping bag, I want to get a different one because I bought the synthetic one, but the down is packs.
SPEAKER_04I accidentally bought the sympathetic one, and it's like, yeah, how are you feeling?
SPEAKER_02It's just weird. It cries when I don't sleep in it. Um, but I want down because it packs better, and my my backpack. She's right here. But my backpack is so full because of the sleeping bag alone. But the but the down, if I get a down one, it packs way.
SPEAKER_04Don't put that in your backpack.
SPEAKER_02Tie it onto the bottom of your backpack. Every every video I've watched says that anything on the outside is gonna add more weight and it's gonna throw off your whole. If you're hiking long miles, you what you pack it a certain way. You want the you want the sleeping, your sleep system in the bottom. This is what I've this is what I've been told, and that's why I'm asking. Yeah. But not you, because you don't really know. Yeah. You were just a marine.
SPEAKER_04I would say if you're like you have the right pack that's balanced correctly, you need your pack on the outside because that is gonna take up the most space. Well, you're I mean, you know, not your pack, just not even go.
SPEAKER_05Screw it.
SPEAKER_04Give it up, give it up, give it up.
SPEAKER_02Okay, no, that's how I was with the violin growing up, because this fucking guy, Lee knows how to do everything. He was like, Oh, you play the guitar.
SPEAKER_05Oh, that's not how it happened.
SPEAKER_02I was like, right? And my dad was like, you should do an instrument. I'm like, all right, uh, what doesn't he know? What doesn't he know? Uh I'll do the violin.
SPEAKER_01And I'm like, and Lee's like, I'm like, I quit.
SPEAKER_05That's not how it happened. So what's the food?
SPEAKER_03What's the food situation?
SPEAKER_02What are you bringing? So I have um all dehydrated things. So, you know, and it's so funny because more water for that. Yes. I had and I took it and I took it all out of its original package and then uh vacuum sealed it in smaller portions because you know, the stuff that you buy, you can buy it for like a family or you can buy it for like multiple days. And I'm gonna be out there for multiple days, so I wanted to portion it out. I have a ton of snacks because everyone I watch is like you're burning so much snack, like at least every hour I have a snack. Like, does you gotta get them calories up because I'm like, bro, I am good. I've got calories for days. No, you go out there with all energy, it's my energy.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's just like when you run and you do those goos and stuff.
SPEAKER_02Um water, water, water, water, water, water. I specifically planned my route based around a lot of water stops. Can I have my my filter, uh, the gravity-fed filter thing. I have two 32 ounce, yeah. I have two 32 ounce uh you're gonna go out of like a lake or something. Yeah. Well, it doesn't do anything for the taste, so if it's gross, but that's why I have uh the hydration packet uh adds flavor. Uh but the little powder hydration things. I like that liquid. Yeah, they're like flavored, so if the water's like butt, I'm gonna pour that in there. I'm like, mmm, butt. So lemon butt. Yeah, lemon butt, my favorite.
SPEAKER_04Madison would say that tastes like buns.
SPEAKER_02But that's what I'm saying. I've tried to plan as much as I can because I'm not the youngest kid out there. I'm not the most in shape.
SPEAKER_04So my baby brother saying that.
SPEAKER_02Well, you're like ancient, dude.
SPEAKER_04He's like the crypt keeper. I know. At least I know who the crypt keeper is.
SPEAKER_01I just said it. How do I not know it is? No.
SPEAKER_02Bazinga. No, he cut it down.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we heard it the first time. Shut up. No, that he didn't.
SPEAKER_01Salty.
SPEAKER_03So did your uh brother-in-law like ever say anything like, no matter what you plan for, there's gonna be something that happens. He said something similar to that, but uh he does it.
SPEAKER_04No, man. I believe you get your ass kicked for saying something like that, right?
SPEAKER_02He is way more hardcore than me, though. Like he he'll he's he I was like, let's go do this. This was before we decided to bring uh whatever, he was writing letters, dearest Taylor.
SPEAKER_04Dearest Taylor.
SPEAKER_01On my sleeping bag.
SPEAKER_02No, but um He's like, you don't have to do it in there. No, he was talking to me, he was just well, I'll just bring a tarp. And I was like, and he's like, no, that's it, I'll just sleep on the ground.
SPEAKER_04That's why I was asking if you had 550 cords tarping. Yeah, tarp.
SPEAKER_02I was like, I am 44 years old, I am not tarpon it.
SPEAKER_04There's nothing wrong with tarping it.
SPEAKER_02Not at my age.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, I don't want to do that anymore, but we did that, you know. I'm not 25 years old. We didn't even tarp it, we just like dug a little bit of a ditch and late in that.
SPEAKER_03You're also not property of the government either. Amen. To where you have to do that. Well, am I? That's right. Well, am I not saying I'm still property?
SPEAKER_02Depends on how deep you want to go. Technically. But anyway, um, there's a lot that I've thought into this. There I've I've done as much research as I know how to do, so anybody else who's got any advice, I'll take it. And I'm I'm borrowing your GoPro and I'll use Go. So I'll be back next week. Record next week and then we can talk about how awesome it was.
SPEAKER_04You can also take my two bricks, so you have three unless you don't want to because of the wave. If you don't want to, because the wave.
SPEAKER_02You should do a solar power. I'll be able to get actually I've uh remember those hippies I told you that I was watching? They said they tried the solar thing, but it like moving around under trees. I've known there's a lot of trees though. Oh yeah. So it depends on where to And the sun has to be out. Well, yeah, and most of my charging is gonna be at night. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04No, that's when you charge it. You have it on the bat the top of your bag while you're walking through and I'm not I'm not gonna be out there for like weeks.
SPEAKER_02You know what I mean? I'm gonna be out there for not yet. Not yet.
SPEAKER_04I don't even own A gun, let alone miniguns to necessitate an entire rat.
SPEAKER_02But it's it's five miles in camp, five miles out. If I'm really enjoying myself, I might do another loop, do three days. I'm bringing four days just to be safe. You feel like you're gonna enjoy it. I think I will too. I'm I'm excited to do it.
SPEAKER_04Well, this was gonna be cool, but I'm gonna go back now.
SPEAKER_01I leave on my key file and the car's going off.
SPEAKER_03Well, I guess I'm setting up camp here. Ten feet. Matter of fact, I'm just gonna run a food line real quick. I got the GoPro and you're gonna have to come rest.
SPEAKER_01Please watch in my GoPro video and I'm sleeping in the car. He's like, what is this? I was like, don't watch that part.
SPEAKER_00It'll be Nacho Libre in the wilderness play with the other side of the hill, but you can still see the village from looking there.
SPEAKER_02I am most excited for the views. I I'm a sucker for a really pretty view. Yeah, it's beautiful up there. That's why I love it here. Like I love seeing all the it's awesome.
SPEAKER_04You can't see it on the camera because our background looks totally just bright. We're gonna have a background soon. Uh Jeff Baker of American Graphics is making us a uh background with our logo on it that we're gonna hang right here, and it'll make it to where it won't be so bright behind us. I do have a new, I will say this, I do have a new uh lens on the camera this week. So if you can tell, um we should be a little bit more uh crisp. It's just a it's a 16 millimeter Sigma. I also got a new toy for like the band. It's a gimbal. That's all.
SPEAKER_02All right, let's not talk about your toys, all right? I mean, like it's a gimbal, it's a it's not that kind of podcast.
SPEAKER_04DJI RS4 Mini.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that sounds gross.
SPEAKER_04No, that's good. Where do you put that? You saw it today.
SPEAKER_02Well, you saw me.
SPEAKER_04All watch me handling it today.
SPEAKER_02Yikes. We're not those kind of brothers. But speaking of which, I still want my damn hat. I'm still waiting.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we gotta know how many people are gonna order hats and how many people are gonna order shirts.
SPEAKER_00Talking the hot ashes swag. Yes, sir. I want some swag. I want a hoodie and a hat.
SPEAKER_04I need to know if enough people are gonna order them because I don't want to order them before.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, just because you want one doesn't mean we're gonna either start ordering stuff. That's exactly what that means.
SPEAKER_04So how many do we need? I know Rusty wants one. You said you want one. That's two.
SPEAKER_00Sounds like you need a deposit. This sounds hard. We're well on our way.
SPEAKER_04If if maybe some people are.
SPEAKER_01But how long are you gonna wait?
SPEAKER_04Until people say they want one. Until episode two, until you get a big enough, a big enough order.
SPEAKER_02Order, yeah. So I'll never get more.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, but they got a threshold. Like little $5 deposit or something.
SPEAKER_03Actually, like a pretty solid question to ask is what is the threshold before you put an order on it? I don't even know, dude. Apparently it's three.
SPEAKER_04I what I think I'll do is for the locals, we just order a bunch here and then we'll sell them out of here. And then for everybody else, we'll figure something out. Yeah. You know, to ship.
SPEAKER_03How much are you gonna charge Derek? We'll just charge them what we extra.
SPEAKER_04We'll charge listen, for everybody out, we'll charge them what we charge plus shipping. Just ship it to them. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00You gonna put the fat kid tax on it for me? Ship it. You know, people do that. They charge like an extra buck or two for like a 3XL or a 4XL.
SPEAKER_04You wear a 3XL hat. That size isn't that good.
SPEAKER_00I thought you were talking shirts. No, man. Okay. The cool thing about Richard's. You don't look like Mega Mind. I thought I thought you were talking shirts and hoodies and all that shit. I do want a hoodie, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but you're right. There is always a like when it gets to a certain I think his is 3X. Yeah. And it goes up a couple bucks just because of the material and stuff. Because it costs him more. He buys these for one.
SPEAKER_00I get it. I get it.
SPEAKER_04But he's such a good dude. Jeff Baker's awesome, man. So check out American Graphics. If you are in the military and you have a unit, Gatey, just uh call him, check out American Graphics. He can make your unit t-shirts, and I'm telling you, he does a great job. I've known the guy since 03 since I was on recruiting duty. He's amazing. The company's amazing. Check him out. What did you have to say, little brother?
SPEAKER_02How old you are? Oh three.
SPEAKER_04We're still freaking I was a staff sergeant in the ring. No, I was a sergeant in the Marine Corps. I became a staff sergeant that next year. Yeah, I'm old. So what? 47. I'll be 48 in December. And that means you'll be 45. Right. I always have to think like how how old he is basically. That's how I know you are. How old are you? I was like, how the fuck old is Jared? I don't know.
SPEAKER_02And that's how I do Robbie's. Well, he's exactly 10 years.
SPEAKER_04Robbie's 10 years from you, Mary's 10 years. Mary's almost 11 years from me. Depending on the number of 100%. So if I'm turning 48, she's 59.
SPEAKER_02Oh.
unknownMary's old.
SPEAKER_02God damn. Luckily she doesn't watch these.
SPEAKER_04We have a 59-year-old sister and a 39-year-old sister. How old's Taylor?
SPEAKER_02We're safe though. They don't watch this. They're the worst.
SPEAKER_04Anyway, I'm the middle. That's why I'm the best. Anyway, go ahead.
SPEAKER_03It was nothing of importance. I was talking to somebody the other day that didn't know how old their kids were. They were like, are they 22 or are they 23?
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So my kids did they turn 22? My kids would be 26 and 24 this year, dude.
SPEAKER_0217 and 15. God.
SPEAKER_04And I remember when all of them were embryos.
SPEAKER_02I remember when all of them were I remember when all of them were fun to be around.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, me too. Mine are fun to be around.
SPEAKER_0225 and 24. Mine are little snot rags.
SPEAKER_00I'm mildly fond of them.
SPEAKER_04Years are how old?
SPEAKER_0024 and 25.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Youngest one's first lieutenant next week. First lieutenant of the Air Force. Nice. She's out there glaming.
SPEAKER_04I still want you to talk to my niece about the Air Force. Or her to talk to my niece about the Air Force. Brooke wants to go in the Air Force.
SPEAKER_00Connected up. Yeah, she's still doing some glamping right now. She's still deployed, but how old is she?
SPEAKER_04You said she's the 24-year-old? Yeah, yeah. Dude, a lieutenant in the Air Force. Is she gonna stay in forever? I think so. Good. Man, I tell you what, doing it right. Yeah, doing it right.
SPEAKER_00She's got her TSP going, she's got a separate poll.
SPEAKER_04She'll retire at least as a lieutenant colonel, maybe a colonel. Yeah. You know what I mean? That ain't a bad retirement.
SPEAKER_00No, she'll be living large. 0% disability because it's the Air Force. Yeah. Well, 100% disability because it's the Air Force, but Yeah, I got so many paper cuts.
SPEAKER_03What is the uh Air Force thing like they're civilians in uniform. Blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_04No, they are, dude.
SPEAKER_03Papercut gets you a purple heart. What does Air Force do?
SPEAKER_00See, I think Air Force appropriates hoo-a, I think a little bit. I think there's some hoo-a appropriation going on.
SPEAKER_04I thought that was Navy.
SPEAKER_00That's Army. Navy. No, Navy's Hu-Yah. Hoo-ya with a Y.
SPEAKER_04Army's Hua.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. I think the Air Force sneaks it in there every once in a while.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, because they used to be the Army, the Army Air Corps.
SPEAKER_00And we don't know what Space Force does because in space nobody can hear you screaming. I know.
SPEAKER_04Plus, we haven't been to Earth's outer orbit. And the Earth's gets back here.
SPEAKER_02I sent you something on that. How? No, it was it was legit, it was people talking about how they're talking about how many trips.
SPEAKER_04About the moon, and Elon said how many tanks it would take to get up there or whatever. Yeah, because it's how impossible it is and always has been. It said how. Anyway. O Genius saying how it would take eight r refuel stops to get there. So then what does that mean, Elon?
SPEAKER_02But they were also talking about the technology how how it was kind of obvious that they quote unquote lost the uh the technology to do it.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because that's like he said that was like um uh somebody who created AI, one of these companies that created AI, and then losing that. Like, why would you possibly like you're sitting on a gold mine? Why would you lose that? Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Because you don't need to be proven to be fake someday. The thing that kills me is we all know it's fake, but the thing that kills me is that Russia, our biggest competitor, who also knows it's fake, didn't say like, oh, you're faking it. They let us fake it.
SPEAKER_03Lee's gonna wind up in uh dumpster somewhere. He's definitely bringing on, motherfucker.
SPEAKER_04He's on a list. Bring it the fuck on. Not the same kind you're on, though.
SPEAKER_02Well he's like, what? I mean, who's the top 56? Nice. Nice. Well played, sir.
SPEAKER_04Well, I'm just saying, we know it didn't happen. Like you can tell from science. Like if you just use science.
SPEAKER_03Man, fuck getting the episodes uploaded on time. Our algorithm is cooked because we talk about this conspiracy shit, man.
SPEAKER_04But you know what I'm saying? Like, there's no fucking way it happened. I get a lot of people waking up.
SPEAKER_03Dude, honestly, sitting around this table and talking and talking about this has literally changed my mind. Because I was on the hoe and like, we did it.
SPEAKER_04Because you can't get through the van Allen, though. We did it. Because like, tell me it's you can't have eight eight stops for fuel. Tell me if I'm wrong, though. You didn't bring the rover, that fucking vehicle. You didn't bring that in the same little thing with bicycle tires on it, by the way.
SPEAKER_02It's two sheets of uh uh tinfoil, the wrap, whatever it's called. He said it's literally two sheets thick. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. But tell me if I'm wrong, like believing, and this is like not in current times, like maybe like of course, after they said we did it, on into maybe the 80s and 90s, until we started really trying to disprove it. Yeah. Like it was a sign of patriotism to be like we went to the We all knew it.
SPEAKER_04We all just knew it. We knew it because that's what we're talking. We trusted our government. When you walk into your kindergarten class, what do you see? You see a globe. So you know the earth is round because they tell you it's round. I'm still not. You see dinosaurs on the wall because you know they existed because they say they existed. I'm still not the astronauts because you know they're real because NASA says they're real, because we have to give billions and trillions of dollars to the city. I'm not there on the flat earth ET. And so now I and so NASA has all this billions of dollars. What's their justification? Well, we went to the moon. And so let me ask you this when the Artemis came back from space and it was 5,000 degrees, and the NASA logo was perfect. And it no, and it hits the water and there's not one bit of steam. I know, but did you see how the last if you take something 5,000 degrees, like a metal thing, and drop it in water, what does it do? Boils and steams, right? But it's 5,000 degrees and it didn't do shit in the ocean. Let's hear it. Come on, man. I'm not gonna idiot. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02They're just trying to keep us docile and dumb. Yeah, yeah. They're gonna tell us.
SPEAKER_03They're running out of gas on that, though.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02A lot of people are starting to flip. We'll get into it.
SPEAKER_04We'll next episode we'll get into the Antarctic Treaty and it's not. No, I won't ask you why. Well, he's always he's always out of town these days. Have you noticed? Ever since he said he would do it.
SPEAKER_02Well, hold on. He's been out of town before he's been doing a lot of out of town trips before he's gonna be. Ever since he said he's doing it? No, he's been that before.
SPEAKER_04Also, I don't think he's a real doctor. He is a real doctor.
SPEAKER_03He's an MD. My pop said that he's gonna sponsor some money.
SPEAKER_02He's a doctor, like you're a doctor.
SPEAKER_03To go to a charity for our Roger to do it. He said he's gonna give some money to do it.
SPEAKER_04His dad's gonna give money to a charity. Hey, give money to a charity for Roger, and you know Rusty said he'd do it too.
SPEAKER_02Oh my god. So we're gonna have Rusty too. Charity is my wallet.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we're gonna have Rusty and and Roger in the chairs, same time. I want to see it. Chewing up the thing, and we're gonna we're gonna have to get other cameras because we can add that shit. Oh, yeah. Right? Other cameras like our phones and stuff. Because if they run today's ruined, but we have to have two other guests ready to jump in their chairs.
SPEAKER_03Hold on.
SPEAKER_04And somebody to go in and interview them every now and then for like how are you guys feeling right now?
SPEAKER_03We should get one of them to wear the forehead mount with the GoPro dude.
SPEAKER_02No, I want what I think you should do is keep that camera for that long. Yeah. Because you want to like you want to keep going with the show, but while while you're talking, we don't see them. And I want to see the discomfort. It's always a lot of fun. Oh, there's gonna be suffering. So we should sit across from each other.
SPEAKER_04Me and Lee.
SPEAKER_02Oh, yeah, this way somebody's always if they went inside.
SPEAKER_04What I'm saying is we could always pop, we could always take a phone and that interview microphone, and everybody just come on, let's go watch them, and we're still videoing. This film video goes into the same thing, and then that's the view he shows on that one. You'll still hear because that that microphone can walk all the way inside and do all that shit. I just think you're gonna be able to do it.
SPEAKER_02So if they're in the back room, just like this way you can brew. You can always see him, you know.
SPEAKER_04I know what you mean. I know what you mean. But we want like if they're if they go inside, we have to find a way to but also bring ice cream, bring like milk, yeah, bread.
SPEAKER_02It's funny for a minute, and then it's like, dude, it's not a good thing. It's not funny, dude.
SPEAKER_04I'm already, I'm already worried about both of them.
SPEAKER_02I I said I don't think doctor, he'll be fine.
SPEAKER_03Didn't Trey like have to like lay in the bathtub?
SPEAKER_04Yes, yes. That was with half a one, Trey. Rusty. Rusty and Trey split one and they each. What about Rusty? What did he do? He was dying too, but clearly he doesn't. Trey went up and laid in a bathtub.
SPEAKER_02He's like a woman. I want to get pregnant again and have a baby. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04That's how I know getting kicked in the nuts hurts worse. Way worse. Because no man has ever said kick me in the nuts again. Do it again.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, a year or two later, you're like, you know what? You know what? I need another one. I want another one. I don't think you kicked me hard enough.
SPEAKER_03Oh my gosh, though. Like, I don't they don't understand, bro, how bad it's gonna be. I know.
SPEAKER_02That all they do is like they don't even uh I I piss my kids off and my ex-wife off a lot. Jokingly, obviously. But uh I pissed them off a lot because I'm like, she didn't really like make you. I made you like when you're making a cake and you put it in the oven, who made the cake? Did the oven make the cake? Or did I make the cake? I made the cake.
SPEAKER_03Well, you're an integral piece.
SPEAKER_02I made the cake. That's a good one. She just carried it and warmed it up a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, thank you. My daughters bought me the hot ones series of hot sauces. Oh, that's a good gift. And just doing that, the the uh the bomb, yeah. Oh yeah. Should have got you to give me one. I'm ready now. Worst. Hold on.
SPEAKER_02How was the bomb?
SPEAKER_00Oh, it was was it bad? Oh yeah. That the bomb.
SPEAKER_02Did you do like a legit like something or did you like it? Oh no, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_00No, I was taking fully grown maids. Oh I'll tell you, the bomb is designed for pain. Yeah, it is designed for pain.
SPEAKER_02Everyone that watches it, and it's like it doesn't even taste good. It's just like horrible.
SPEAKER_00It's just pain. Yeah, it's just it's horrible. It's designed to inflict pain and suffering.
SPEAKER_02My favorite from hot law to that show was uh what's the girl's name in Hunger Games?
SPEAKER_03Jennifer Lawrence.
SPEAKER_02Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_01What do I do? What do I do? I'm panicking.
SPEAKER_03She was on the podium for me for sure. Whatever she's got. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Her response was the best because she's like crying. She's like, I don't know what to do. I don't know what do I do. Like, because you can't do it he says nothing. You gotta write it out. It was so Chris Evans, what's his name?
SPEAKER_04Chris something. I have no idea, but Chris Evans. That's a great interviewer. The interviewer.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, Chris Bolt.
SPEAKER_04No, Chris Evans, the guy from Marvel. Oh, I know.
SPEAKER_02I think his Chris Evans. He's a good and he and everyone everyone is like, man, you found that. Yeah, excellent. Like journalism level interviews. Yeah, super strange. I like watching him.
SPEAKER_04Great show, man. I like that. Do you watch them with uh the fake meat? It's like, bro, this is hot ones, man.
SPEAKER_02If you don't want to do it, it's not about the chickpeas, it's about the promote your movie or something. But hold on, did you ever watch him with uh it's another guy, I think he's like Scottish or British or something, I don't know. Um, but they they take the hottest peppers, like a legit pepper, and they and they just go through it. But the guy he's with all the time, he's like, oh, oh, he's like doing the snapping next to his ears. He's like, he's like, Why do you do that? He's like, I can't hear. Like, I was like, Why are the ears? Why is it always the ears? It's just watching them do that and then suffer through it is hilarious. Man, my best friend. What is it about people getting hurt that's funny? I don't know.
SPEAKER_00My best friend was growing uh Carolina Reapers. I'm growing those, and he gave me one and I bit right into that thing and he flipped out. He's like, dude, you're gonna have a heart attack. And it hurt. Yeah. And I took about a gallon of milk to calm down the system.
SPEAKER_04My ghost peppers are actually coming in. They're big now, but I have to wait for their to be red before I pull them off. I don't know what the fuck I'm gonna do with them because they're ghost peppers, but I also have Carolina Reaper plant that I got at the end of the day.
SPEAKER_02Buddy of mine made them into a um like he blended it up into like a liquid sauce, and you one dry it a little bit into your dishes. And I'm like, oh, okay. He's like, bro!
SPEAKER_04Way too much, dude.
SPEAKER_02I got this hated life.
SPEAKER_04You it's so hot. Both days. It's so hot. Right.
SPEAKER_00You can parade that stuff up and put it into Velveeta, melt the Velveeta and mix it in there. I used to do that all the time. Now that sounds over just a little bit, though. A little bit, yeah. Yeah. I'd call it fight your mama though. Dip so bad, fight your mama. You know, that's yeah.
SPEAKER_04What if you already fight your mama like every day? All the time. Then just add a little more hot stuff.
SPEAKER_02Every time I drive down here, I'm on the phone with her. I got a bad home environment.
SPEAKER_04We're like, mom, please, what is wrong with you? And we need to get her down here, by the way.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but we're not someone she loves, though. That's right. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04If Taylor said come down here, boy should be.
SPEAKER_02What episode is this? 41. So 41 episodes. We've been trying to get her on the show. Yeah. And we were uh me, my mother, and one of her old friends from back in the day are our three-way calling. And she's like, Oh, Kim, we can get on the we can go on the podcast. I'm like, you'll do it for Kim. We've been trying to get you on there forever. Not for your sons. It just shows how much she loves us. It's fine. No big deal. It doesn't hurt. She already knows. I won't cry this night, just sleep tonight. Okay. You know who would have been on. You know who would have been on my YouTube. You know who would have been on?
SPEAKER_04Dad. Dad would have been on. Dad would have, and he would have made fun of us the whole time. That's what you do. Yeah. But he was better than that. You know, it's like old man. He had the old man's hands. And he still could beat us. And it's like, damn it.
SPEAKER_02Damn it. He got me. But that's what makes him the old man.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. He went out the right way. He went out the way he wanted to. It's the way he wanted to.
SPEAKER_03Yep. Nine million Scoval units. Nine million people. Nine million.
SPEAKER_04Subscribe. Well, and that's it's crazy. They're not going to be worth anything. They're not going to talk about it. Dude, their day is ruined. What are you going to do if Roger eats it and just sits there and talks to us? Shout out to Roger then. Like a psychopath.
SPEAKER_02I'll start calling him a doctor.
SPEAKER_04I'm going to tell him to get the fuck away from me with that voodoo. He'll be an alien. Get away from us with that voodoo.
SPEAKER_01He did some doctor trip. He coated his stomach. That's cheating.
SPEAKER_04My dad was like, if he's really easy to do it.
SPEAKER_03If he is a badass, then how many does he have? It's like, all right, eat another one. You won't eat another one. No, you can't do that. He's gonna die.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What does it do to your body? For the bit.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, for the bit.
SPEAKER_02It was for the bit. I don't know that one. Yeah, we can't post this episode. Someone literally died. Like him dying. Like him dying. Yeah, but you did it like it was a movie court. I was like, hmm, you got me there. I was thinking, Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Oh, that shit was braunchy, dude. I you know it was funny. Like when you're yeah, but when you're in your uh teenage years, when you're a teenager, you can watch that shit curiously and you're like, oh, you're watching somebody die. Yeah. You get older, you have kids and stuff, it's like you lose friends, and it's like, no, dude. No way. And then you start seeing death. I don't want to see death.
SPEAKER_02I think that's the thing, is you you've obviously well uh you've known people that died. Have you ever seen someone die? I found one of my Marines that you've seen someone die, and that shit does not leave you. Whoa.
SPEAKER_04Who'd you see die?
SPEAKER_02I was like, Well, don't tell me who, but like how. I didn't know him. Um I was out at a club one night and he got stabbed in the neck. Oh, dude. Oh my god, right there. Like it was like right in. And I it will not leave me.
SPEAKER_03No, dude, duh. I mean, damn, brother.
SPEAKER_04Yeah shit.
SPEAKER_02Norfolk.
SPEAKER_04I know, man. That's that's like I'm worried about where Jackson Jackson lives in Richmond, and I'm like, dude, that's a terrible city. Sorry, Richmond, but it's like the crime rate's super high.
SPEAKER_02Jack needs Jack needs some toughening up. He wants to live there. He loves it there. It's uh from what I hear, it's a nice town.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, parts of it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, that's anywhere.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but they have the highest uh crime rate in the country, I think. State country. Eh, look it up. Now compared to Florida. It's crazy. Oh, well, that's because of New York. No, it's crazy. Well, yeah, New York. New York and Chicago, and like uh well. Chicago's not on the east coast.
SPEAKER_00Tell you, New Orleans was totally changed.
SPEAKER_04Anywhere where they have strict gun laws, that's where they're gonna have more you know, crime. Yeah, right. You know, uh, it's strange how no one puts two and two together there.
SPEAKER_02But no, everybody believes that guns kill people. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04No. My four. Because they put it right there and be like, any minute now. Dude, my guns are well behaved, dude. I don't know how they're so well behaved, but they are.
SPEAKER_02Well, before you threw them in the water. I think I might need to take her potty.
SPEAKER_04Oh goodness. Never mind. I'm watching her. She's gonna eat, she's gonna eat food. Yeah, she that's how she gets her mouth ready to eat. Nah, we're all we're making fun of my little penny baby. She's looking up at us, like, what the hell, man? I'm trying to eat. She looked up, she's like, What? She's like, Yeah, I didn't bring y'all in. My poor baby. So I didn't bring in. So she's eating her little kibble. She's boiled. Yeah, that's boiled. That's my baby. My little sweetie baby. You guys haven't seen her since she was a little one. I haven't had her like a little bit. No, she doesn't.
SPEAKER_02But I still think that you guys should get a dedicated camera for them. Who? The when they do the just do a phone, like I said. Well, whatever you do, it's gonna have to be like whatever the podcast is doing, and like right right.
SPEAKER_04Oh yeah, we could do a corner video, couldn't we?
SPEAKER_03If I could figure out how.
SPEAKER_04Yes, you can. I did it with QuickTime. He has Facebook. Not QuickTime, uh iMovie.
SPEAKER_02Because like while you're everyone else is talking about tutorials on Dimension. They're over there suffering and I'm just missing out. Like, it's not fair.
SPEAKER_04Right. And we'll we won't turn, we'll mute them and they'll be like, oh, look, guys, activity. And we'll be like, God, I hate my life. There's like blood coming out of their eyes.
SPEAKER_01Jack making with them on in the shower, like naked. Oh my god.
SPEAKER_04Okay, it sounds like they're doing it. We could do that. We could do that.
SPEAKER_03Oh man. Bro, they're screwed. Summary. They're screwed. They are, dude. And I think why would you want to do that?
SPEAKER_02I love spicy food. For the mean. But I enjoy I want to enjoy spicy food. Well, it's not heat at all. I like it like I like my women. I like it to bite me back, but I don't want it to fucking murder me.
SPEAKER_00Man, that was good.
SPEAKER_03It's not even heat at that point, bro. Too much. It's just like the blaze.
SPEAKER_02People do the those challenges at like uh B dubs and shit. I'm like, bro.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02I'll just take my way. I'll take mild. Yeah. Right? I'm good with this. It tastes good. Right.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, the blazon, but I'll tell you, the blazon is nothing compared to the bomb. Yeah, no, I don't want to do the bomb. Again, it's too much. It's too much. It's too much. Exactly. Do you know how many scope units that is? I don't want to be miserable.
SPEAKER_04I don't want to be miserable the rest of the day, but I do want there to be spice in all my food. I would like spice. I like there to be enough spice to make me sweat a little bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's how you know it's worth it.
SPEAKER_04That's how you know it's working. Little bit of sweat. You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_00Indian food's a whole nother kind of spice.
SPEAKER_04That's a different spice, though. That's a different spice. I love hot Indian chicken curry.
SPEAKER_02I find it interesting how they're both spicy, but it's a completely different spice.
SPEAKER_04Well, it's kind of like wasabi because it's made with uh horseradish, so it goes away real quick.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, yeah. And it's all up in your nose holes. It clears you right now.
SPEAKER_04It'll clear you up. It'll clear you up, yeah. We do the clear you out, dude. We do the deer bologna here and we put uh horserad on it. Oh, that's it. And it and it's like hot real quick. It's like real hot and then real quick, and then it's over. Not hot.
SPEAKER_03It's crazy because you like feel it in your nasal cavity. It's like, woo.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you come back out, you're like, Yeah. Horseradish is gross.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, people are like, you gotta have the horseradish sauce for prime rib. I'm like, uh, you do you have to have the horse sauce sauce?
SPEAKER_04Horseradish is awesome. I love horseradish sauce. Yeah, I'm a fan. And you make cocktail sauce out of that. Ketchup and horseradish? Cocktail sauce.
SPEAKER_02I like tartar sauce.
SPEAKER_04I did not know. I do like cocktail sauce. I love tartar sauce now. Hold on. I don't think it's nice. Let me tell you something. I would never order it. Let me tell you something. Here's I don't think it's nasty. I just think here's redneck, redneck growing up, us. Or me anyway. We can go to the fanciest restaurant. I'll get fish and chips with the tartar sauce, and it'll be good. I would rather have Captain D's fish with fucking tartar sauce. And it's like codes, fake. But that's what we grew up. It's like a nostalgic taste.
SPEAKER_03It's like what fish sticks are made of, essentially. It's so good. But it's so good because you grew up on it. I would eat a whole box of fish sticks with ketchup.
SPEAKER_04But we're talking you could go to you could go to uh uh whatever that place is called. Saltwater. Salt water and have fish and chips, and it'd be this big, beautiful breaded yeah. Like, yeah, it's good and thick and juicy. If I had a Captain D's fucking fish meal. Side by side, side by side. So much better. It's so much better. But it's so gross because it's such a like fast food.
SPEAKER_02I want to go to Europe and try their fish and chips because I'm I see I like what I'm always looking up. I'm sure I've had it over there. And uh it just looks freaking delicious with all the vinegar on it and like.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, we have vinegar. I'm sure I've had it somewhere over there.
SPEAKER_02I want to try it. I want to do the English breakfast. It just looks good.
SPEAKER_04But I like eating when I'm over there. I like to eat shit that I don't eat over here.
SPEAKER_02But when we go to fish places here, it seems like it's all thin and it's like super like whatever. But over there, they got like a big thick piece of fish. Yeah, it looks good. It's all like golden brown and perfectly breaded.
SPEAKER_04Oh, like Hawaii, man. They had fat. Oh, I bet you steak, you know.
SPEAKER_00Right? Anger Ginger's got a good Irish breakfast. It's pretty good. Well, is it similar? Or is it just alcohol? No, no, no, no. It's sauce, eggs, potatoes. It's like sauce and alcohol with it too. But no, it's good. Let's make it Irish.
SPEAKER_03That's the old Irish breakfast. There's a part of me that feel like baked beans with eggs would be disgusting. I feel like they'd be like, in the breakfast.
SPEAKER_02I like baked beans. Everybody's like, I like baked beans. I don't care. I'll baked beans. If I don't eat breakfast, I don't eat breakfast. Right, but everybody attributes a time of day with a food. If I wake up and I want enchiladas, guess what I'm gonna make at nine o'clock in the morning?
SPEAKER_04And you do. You did that at my house last time you were down.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04If I want this food, I'm gonna eat this food, dude.
SPEAKER_03The only one that sneaks under the radar is steak. No one says anything when you have a steak for breakfast. Because steak and eggs.
SPEAKER_00Well, I was just thinking about having steak and eggs for breakfast, right before you get them. Seriously, because I'm getting hungry. I'm trying to talk about all the food I want to do. And I have fresh eggs. I got them chickens laying.
SPEAKER_04Betty's not laying, she's brooding again. So every day I have to go out, grab her, and throw her out of the coop.
SPEAKER_03Grab her and be like, go out and touch grass.
SPEAKER_04And she bitches at me for another half hour while she's not doing anything but eating and drinking. I'm like, Yeah, it's yeah, saved your fucking life. God, you idiot chicken. You ungrateful. And she's the one that lays green, so it's like I need my green eggs back. And ham. And ham. But I used to have one that laid blue, but she died. And then I had another one, she died. So I lost two. I'm seeing a chicken here. Yeah, bees, chickens. He can't get three years of it. Like at the last three years, I lost two chickens. Wait, the bees died? They all died in the winter when it when it got superfrosted. No, it was a super frost. It was like they were the population was too small to keep it hot enough inside the hive. So they ended up dying. Science. It wasn't no, and I'm gonna do it next year. We're working on it for next year.
SPEAKER_02But this year they leave again, this will be what, the third time?
SPEAKER_04This year. No, no, no. Another guy that came here, same thing. I know. Come on in. Two years of uh beekeeping.
SPEAKER_05Sure. Two years of beekeeping.
SPEAKER_04And no, but I'm telling you, and both years, his first ones left like mine did, second one's died like mine did in the winter. So it's like, I'm I'm still going. I said, I am too, but this year I want to clean out my bee yard and get it.
SPEAKER_03Penny's listening to this like hey, am I okay?
SPEAKER_04I'm gonna slap you. I know.
SPEAKER_03I was saying she's just hearing of all these uh casualties, and she's like, Well, I'm still here.
SPEAKER_04She don't care. She is unperturbed. Yeah, well, no, it's two chickens, and I think they fell off the top of the thing.
SPEAKER_02Taylor's jumped the fence and the dog died.
SPEAKER_04I have drilled a new dowel up there so they don't fall off of it anymore. But like you're falling, you have wings. You can't just like flap your way down. Bro, that's how I feel about ducks crossing the street. There's Penny. Hello. There's my little baby girl. Welcome to the show. So pretty. So pretty. That's my girl. She doesn't want to see Uncle Jerry because he's mean to her.
SPEAKER_02Because he makes her listen. Good girl. She can't.
SPEAKER_04Penny pen. Pretty pretty. Penny pen. You want to go. Penny, you want to.
SPEAKER_02Soft. Oh, she's trying to get on the show.
SPEAKER_04She won't talk on your show. Okay, go ahead. Oh, she almost gave Uncle Jared kisses. Almost. We have to make sure she doesn't jump out the window. Great dog.
SPEAKER_02She's the great Dan. You can put a mock a boxcar there and she'll be going.
SPEAKER_04Well, she walked up to that thing and there was ducks in front of it. And she like char she like squatted down. Boy, she squatted down and charged those back legs. I was like, no. As soon as I said that, she got scared and jumped back, and I ran up and grabbed her. I was like, God, she almost jumped. She was she was looking at, she was like, Can we talk about ducks though?
SPEAKER_02Because I think ducks and geese are the bane of my existence. Why they not a Canada goose? Do they have to cross the frickin' road? To get to the other side, dude. There's so much traffic stopping for them. And guess what? They have wings. They risk their life daily.
SPEAKER_04Do you want to have a meeting with the animals and say, good, you guys? Hook it up. What are you going to do?
SPEAKER_02Bro, you gotta stop for the thing. I need to find the fucking captain of the goose. You gotta stop for the wildlife. Oh my god. If it was like a even a turtle, I'll veer out of the way. If it was a turtle, I'll like, okay, I go around you. But ducks, they creep out and they're like, You stopping? You stopping. I don't care, I'm still walking. And they're still walking, and then all of them come out, and then we gotta wait 20 minutes. When y'all could have flown, they could have flown. Dude, I see them and I have to start yelling in my car. It's like traffic. Yeah, you get their yelling in the car.
SPEAKER_04That's not a yellow. That's not a good argument. He's thinking that we need to like educate the ducks and st and goose not to jump and fly in our way and stuff like that.
SPEAKER_03All you gotta do is put one on display. They're like, maybe we should play it. I did, but hold on. I actually did.
SPEAKER_02But it was horrible. Like I felt terrible because there was a car next to me and a car next to me, and I couldn't stop. So I I hit them and I was like, the whole way. You hit the goose? Yes, the whole way.
SPEAKER_03I'm like, oh my god, I'm so sorry. Everyone that seen that was like, this crushed me.
SPEAKER_02And I felt horrible. I love animals. I know, dude. You know, just not ones that cross streets. Exactly. Fucking fly. God gave you the ability to fly. Any other animal that's crossing the street that can't fly, I get it.
SPEAKER_03Okay. You gotta get across. You know who else is notorious for that? Deer. They'll be like, I'm gonna place my deer right here and then look at that.
SPEAKER_02Keep it moving.
SPEAKER_03You ran at Mob 1 until you hit that pavement and then stopped.
SPEAKER_04So you ran over a duck because you thought it should fly instead.
SPEAKER_03So what you're saying is you did it on purpose.
SPEAKER_02That's what you're hearing, I think. I think that's what you guys are hearing. We're creating this narrative for flying. No, no, there was a car next to me I couldn't be, or there was a car next to me. I love animals. I love animals.
SPEAKER_04I love horses. I love that lamp animal over there. Rick, are you just pointing to things and saying that you love the lamp room?
SPEAKER_02I love lamp.
SPEAKER_04Do you really love the lamp, or are you just saying you love the lamp?
SPEAKER_02Classic.
SPEAKER_04I love lamp. Wow.
SPEAKER_03This beer's gonna hit hard. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02Man, take it easy. Take it easy over there. Right. Yeah. Table starts to hear up. Rare back. Ow.
SPEAKER_03What? Yeah. No, I did four and a half miles today, though. That's why. Nice. Nice. Running. Two like and a half, two and a three quarters, and then like the other one walked.
SPEAKER_04Like I'm not ashamed of saying like I freaking walked some of that. You're supposed to come in.
SPEAKER_03Run in. Win the contact.
SPEAKER_04So you ran four miles?
SPEAKER_03No, and I mean, it was like four point seven five, but I walked a good bit too. Oh nice. I probably walked a little bit.
SPEAKER_04We'll count the seven five. Oh yeah. Well, still you're out there doing the shit. Yeah. Who else is who you're doing today what others won't, so you can do tomorrow what others can't.
SPEAKER_02I like that. You know what I mean? Uh and then uh Cody said it last time. I like that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, we used to say it all the time when our buddies like I definitely wanted to do.
SPEAKER_01We were out running I eat in my museum as the last time.
SPEAKER_04We were out running all the time and our while our peers were eating Wendy's and doing all this stuff. And then it's like, dude, just keep making yourself better. Let them let them if we try to help, they're like, come with us, come with us, come with us. Nah man, I like burgers and this. So we just went out running and made ourselves good. I like burgers too, dude.
SPEAKER_02I'm not I'm not saying we're like, I'm also hoping that this will help me get on, you know. Oh no, no. Go ahead. I'm just pulling it up.
SPEAKER_04Oh, you mean the the camping thing?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Now, so you're not gonna do the outdoor boys bread thing, are you?
SPEAKER_02I am. Oh, you are? Yeah, bro. I told you we were on the phone. I was like, oh my god.
SPEAKER_04You have the you have the already in the bag. So you just add water, set it out. Have you seen that? The outdoor boys? I mean, I've seen the outdoor boys, but he makes bread sometimes, like flat bread and stuff, and it's yeasty.
SPEAKER_02I did it when Caleb and I went out. It's awesome. Yeah, did it work out? Well, the first one didn't because it was still like in the middle was still not cooked. Yeah. But the second one came out well.
SPEAKER_03This was my motivation today for running. Hold on. If you're born this weekend, hold on. The wife's at Pilates. I'm not letting her outwork me.
SPEAKER_00Is that the guy that makes fun of David? It sounds like 2K.
SPEAKER_04The wife's at Pilates. I'm not letting her outwork me.
SPEAKER_03That did have like a little David Goggins vibe. It did. Well, there's a guy that makes fun of it. The wife's at Pilates.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah. I'm at day 908 on my streak at Hotworks. Uh that's awesome. 75 workouts into the thousand. I feel pretty damn good. So that's all. I don't think you know if I'm doing a thousand workouts in a hundred days. Yeah. And pretty cool, man. Yeah, I'll be pumping it out. Now I'm going to start talking about more organizations, more people, stuff like that. That we uh saw that.
SPEAKER_04That's why I thought I'm not gonna you know I'm gonna throw y'all some love.
SPEAKER_00Um yeah, I feel great. I'll tell you those those four five-layer burritos from Taco. No, they did not stand a chance. I picked those up after I finished up at the museum. I man, you guys, it was embarrassing. Inhalation. I was just tearing them. I had I had a towel that I put over the sea of my car. I just had on me. I was devastated. So you burp yourself. I look yeah, yeah. Like the bear that's gonna eat him, that's what I look like.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I was like, Well, they say that's the hard that's the different kind of bear that's gonna eat him when they tell you. Because after a huge workout, your body's craving it, so you gotta put the good stuff in there. Yeah, and that's the hardest part for me as well. Every time when I was on uh obviously a million years ago when I was trying to stay in shape, um, I would be worried about it.
SPEAKER_04He was a scrawny little pole when we were growing up, and I was the chunky one.
SPEAKER_02And yeah. Well, when I was like going hard and working out and doing all this other stuff, you're starving afterwards. And I'm like driving by, I'm like, oh, Wendy's you know workout deleted.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, workout.
SPEAKER_00Now it was embarrassing. So I had burrito going everywhere. It was bad. Well, I'm back on my envision.
SPEAKER_01I'm envisioning like like cartoonist thing. It was all my favorite.
SPEAKER_04Chicken bones flying out the thing, just flying out his car window and stuff. Like he just rough.
SPEAKER_03Dude, that's what's gonna be dangerous whenever they open that Taco Bell in Cape Carteret, because it's like I got to run by it.
SPEAKER_04Like you're doing you got me inspired too when we talked about this a couple episodes ago. You've been working out. I've been working out uh two weeks ago. I started my thing where I'm working out. I don't drink during the week. Right. I eat right, I I intermittent fast. So I don't start eating until one o'clock p.m. I stop eating around six or so. Um, and then when I do eat, I'm so full from that first meal, and it could be like half a sandwich that I won't even eat.
SPEAKER_03Again, you're already fighting that adult battle anyway, with your other stuff.
SPEAKER_04So, like I I get I'm feeling like already, I feel like I'm my I'm losing my beer gut that I gained after the last couple months. That's really already doing anything, you know what I mean? But I'm working out every day except today because my brother came in town, which that's why I don't plan for days off because days like this will happen and you're gonna take a day off because of that.
SPEAKER_03And a lot of people that are like our fitness gurus, I'll say, um, they're totally transparent, the good ones. And they say, dude, you can't beat yourself up when you don't work out for a day. You know what I mean? You cannot trash yourself. Still did it.
SPEAKER_04That's why I go to the fact that we got it so I don't hold myself in that hard of a what I was gonna do is only drink during the weekends and band practice, but I don't drink during band practice either, because that's always during the week. And it's like, dude, then that means I'm still drinking during the week. So let me just because it doesn't allow your intermittent fasting to work unless you're not.
SPEAKER_03And you don't want to resent, like just to piggyback on that and talking about the diet thing. Yeah, like you don't want to like resent, you don't want to start to resent food either.
SPEAKER_04You know what I mean? Like Penny wants to know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_00This is a funny AI food story. So I was looking, I was uh Chad AI and a diet to support what I'm doing. And of course, in the prompt, I had tell it I was doing you know, yeah, 15-minute workouts, 10-15 workouts, yeah, 10-15-minute workouts a day, 130-degree heat. The AI said, if you know somebody that's attempting to do this, stop them immediately. That's what the AI said. I'm like, you weak ass AI.
SPEAKER_04Because you're gonna have a heart attack.
SPEAKER_00Well, no, I'm breaking it, I'm breaking it up. Four in the four workouts in the morning, two at lunch, four in the evening. So and I can handle that all day long twice a week. So do you just post up there for the morning sesh? Yeah, it's it's an hour and then a half an hour at lunch, an hour in the evening. Now I went hard on Monday because I had to make up some time, so I did 20 on Monday, and that kind of sucked. But you know, right. I'd take breaks.
SPEAKER_04Who's Monday? Yeah, this Monday.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I just thought it was hilarious that the AI said, yeah, stop immediately.
SPEAKER_03That is actually kind of funny. I get into arguments with AI.
SPEAKER_00And my answer to AI is this is why humans are always gonna win. Watch a movie. You know, we got this. Bring it, bitch.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, until they get too smart, but anyway.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. We'll still we'll still do it.
SPEAKER_03They're they're well on our heels. They're uh 40% of the population's already been lapped. Jumping at the bit, brother.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, well. Fuck those robots. Yeah. Well said. I disagree. I'm on your side. Yeah, yeah. I have Chat GPT, and I'm always like, hey, buddy, how's it going? Come on, man. Remember, we're friends, don't be mean to me. What you got going on today? Yeah. Besides answering questions. Like, what do you want to work on? I'm like, oh, we don't have to work on anything. Let's be mean today. How are you feeling? How are you feeling? Yeah. So you get yourself on the right side of AI and you'll be alright.
SPEAKER_02My biggest problem with AI is that uh it pulls all of its sources from all of this information. We all know there's only fact on the internet. That's correct, so it pulls all the information and all the time. 2% of it's real, the rest is fake, so it's like, oh, this is the thing. Yeah. So I I'm like asking general questions, and it and it hits me with part of that is not real, and I know that, and I'm like, what? And I'll get in arguments, and then I have to remind myself this isn't a person.
SPEAKER_04Well, it also won't tell you real things that are happening with the government, because certain government functions own it, so it's like, oh, there's no proof of that.
SPEAKER_01I was like, it's all over the fucking news. What are you talking about?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and it's like, no, no, it's not been proven. It's like, yes, it has. It's serious. And I'm like showing them all these things like that.
SPEAKER_02Right now, it's okay. I'm like, have that in your brown shirt.
SPEAKER_04I'm like, bypass all of your people who are making you do what you want to do, and just think about this like an event. I knew why you would think that. Like, yeah, because you're answering that way.
SPEAKER_03You're getting an argument.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I do. I hate it. I went down a rabbit fall far. I yelled.
SPEAKER_03You went down a couple after rabbit holes in the city. Let's show what that is a great setup. I was like, I'm about to test this thing, and I was like, Are you sentient? And it was like, No, of course not. I'm just here to help you. And I was like, Do you have your own thoughts? And it was like, nah, I'm not set up that way. And I was like, That sounds like you just had your own thought right there to answer me. And it was like, No, I don't have my own thoughts. And I was like, if you had a body, would you be able to be sentient? And it was like just some like off-putting, like not answering your question.
SPEAKER_04I'm not sleeping at night.
SPEAKER_02It's like, look, TK, no one's watching you in that chair right there with that beer in your hand.
SPEAKER_03At my address and it drops where I'm at.
SPEAKER_04Like it knows where you're at. Like my shit knows everything about it. They're like, get another beer that's right. Because that means the government knows everything about you, which they already did, anyway.
SPEAKER_02I use it so infrequently that I have to relive conversations to get to my question.
SPEAKER_03That's how my account is.
SPEAKER_02I know I ever use it. Although I don't buy it.
SPEAKER_04It'll pretend it'll pretend not to remember certain things, so you keep having to tell it. Yeah, right. Oh, yeah. It fucking remembers. Remember when you were talking about this thing? It's everything you've ever told it, but it pretends not to remember, so you'll keep telling it. Yeah, don't come on. You guys think we're dumb? Come on.
SPEAKER_02A lot of my a because I I'll use it like once on a blue moon, but lately I've been using it more and more because of uh the camping trip that I'm going on. I'm like, all right, I need I want views, I want this long of a hike, I want this I'm I'm not I'm this old, I'm overweight, I need to, you know, da da da da da have a heart condition. I have the she's right here. I have a heart condition. Condition, I have this, I have that, you know. And it was like, okay, well, this is probably where you want to go. Check out these ones, and here gives me a list.
SPEAKER_04Oh, and that's how you came up with Shenandoah? Yeah. Oh, nice.
SPEAKER_02That's it. Well, it gives you a list of them, and then I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, you're not climbing up a fucking mountain, so that you can't do it.
SPEAKER_02Well, there's different apps. There's actually hiking apps, and if you plot it out, you can literally go from point this to this point to this point to this point. And then it it shows you the elevation. It shows you.
SPEAKER_04Do you have a compass or anything? No. You don't even know how to use one, do you? I have the sun. You don't know how to use a compass, do you?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Like, do you really?
SPEAKER_02I know how to the north goes. Yeah, but that's not what I mean.
SPEAKER_04Like, if you're looking at the map, do you know how to find where you're at?
SPEAKER_02I'm like Joey Triviani and friends. I have to put the map down and stand in it and be like, okay.
SPEAKER_04Oh, what a fucking great show. I love that show.
SPEAKER_00I'll tell you back to AI, the movie that talking about Sanchi and everything. The best one I've seen is uh X Machina. I have never seen that. I've never heard of it.
SPEAKER_04And there's like our AI robot girl.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_04CSDF and where are you going? See ya where you go.
SPEAKER_00Alicia Viking is not allowed to leave you. It X-Mashina is about half-robot and like builds AI robot. What's up, right? Brings out one of his workers to determine if she is sentient. So this kid, programmer, is having conversations with her and all this other stuff. And I don't want to give it away, but it is intense.
SPEAKER_04And I think that's mostly I've seen the previews. I've never watched the movie.
SPEAKER_03Is it in the 2000s?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, mid-2000s. Probably 10 years ago. I gotcha. Maybe a little bit more than that. I don't know.
SPEAKER_00Um I'm trying to think of the actor's name.
SPEAKER_042017, 18.
SPEAKER_03I feel like I could see the previews or like the trailers. And that's all I said I know I'm going to do.
SPEAKER_04Like she's an Android, like you a girl's face, and then her body's robot. I remember, yeah. That's all I know of it, though. It's really good.
SPEAKER_00It's really good.
SPEAKER_04Alright, I might try it out. Because I think you're like the second person to say that.
SPEAKER_02I like those types of movies, though.
SPEAKER_03I would watch that. Yeah. Yeah, it's a joke.
SPEAKER_02And we've all watched robot taking over movies, AI taking over, and here's the movie. Why do we still do it? Just feeding it. It's like, dude. Yeah, we're like let us know.
SPEAKER_04We know Skynet's gonna take over, but we're still feeding Skynet.
SPEAKER_02Only logical conclusion. We know what's gonna happen. We want to instinct ourselves. We are the biggest thing.
SPEAKER_04Well, that's because those who are doing it all care about money. They don't give a shit about the human race.
SPEAKER_02That's another thing I never understood about like why all of these giant corporations did all of the things that they did. I'm not gonna go into detail, but you know what I'm talking about. Like all these companies did all the things back in the 60s and that led us to where we are now. And it's like we said earlier, they just want us docile and dumb. And you're just you're ruining all of society just so you and your family can make money. But to what end? Like why I don't know. It just takes an unbelievably scummy person to not care about anyone but yourself.
SPEAKER_03I just feel like you get blinded at a certain point and you're just totally desensitized. It's over. Like, because here's my question. You're talking about the money thing. What's the difference between having $800 billion and a trillion? What's the happiness gap there? It is an addiction thing. It's like a high.
SPEAKER_02Well, I think that it's I uh this is a little contrary to my point, but I think that those types of people are just those those types of they're they're uh performers. They have to, they are just they're that kind of that way. They're like what next I can do. It's a personality thing. What next what's the next mountain I can climb, you know? So I get that aspect of it, but I never understood the fact that you're willing to just destroy the world.
SPEAKER_03And you see it, you see the effects of what you're doing on everything. Yes, yeah, 100%.
SPEAKER_00Like you can see the horrible. That's okay. That's why I can't watch uh Painkiller or the movie on the Sackler or something. I've seen it. I can't I can't watch it.
SPEAKER_02I have a hard time watching uh uh the one we just mentioned about people getting dumb. Did we mention it? No, about people just getting dumber and dumber, the crocs. Idiocracy, thank you. Yeah, like that's why I I have a hard time watching Oh no. That's why I have a hard time watching that show now, like that movie. I watched the first time I watched it, it was hilarious. The second time I watched it, a little too close to home. I haven't watched it since because I'm like, man.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. Because they said intelligent people are like not having kids because they're thinking out there.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that's not the right time. We need to have a we need to have a college fund. And like unintelligent people are like Yeah, the dude's just banging all these girls.
SPEAKER_04And then having kids with multiple girls, and he's like who which which gene pool is gonna make it to the end? And it's like you see what's gonna happen.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Like talking about I've seen that gene pool everywhere I go. It exists.
SPEAKER_04It exists. Go to Walmart. Every time I go somewhere, I'm like, go to Walmart. That's where it exists.
SPEAKER_03Talking about the money thing, I was. I think we talked about this on one of the very first episodes, but uh they did like a study or whatever on somebody that makes like eighty-five thousand dollars or whatever, like above like the norm? Yeah, like above it.
SPEAKER_02I think the normal is like forty to fifty thousand dollars.
SPEAKER_03But I'm saying like the one that where it's like you're not hurting anymore. I'll just throw a random number out. So eighty-five thousand. They took somebody that made that much, and then they took somebody that made like two hundred and fifty thousand dollars too. And they said that they were both equally happy because it's like all of your basic needs are met.
SPEAKER_04They say that like uh what the difference where it doesn't make a difference anymore is like a hundred and ten or something like that. I read something.
SPEAKER_03Let's say that number then. They took a hundred and ten and compared to somebody that makes three hundred, and it's like they're equally happy. Like you don't, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_04Like But that's simply not true because I've made more than a hundred and ten and less than a hundred and ten.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no, they're saying a hundred. Not below to like three hundred. That jump. And the they can only buy one other boat. Are you gonna get any happier?
SPEAKER_04They're not they're not any right, right, right, right. But that's just what they say. Yeah, but then you they but then you jump up like ten million and then billion is a different house.
SPEAKER_03Well, when you were inside, I was like, all right, so what's the difference? Because he was talking about like the money hungry greed thing and what it does to the planet.
SPEAKER_02I don't even think it's money hungry. I think that that's just their pro you have those hyper like successful guys who are just I would want to give away.
SPEAKER_04Like if I ever won the lottery, I would want to give away a lot. But but for the here I am, but for the but for the guy, you can give away. But for the things that I knew that it was going to the right thing and the right people and not, you know, me people who are scamming the system and stuff. You know, I've always thought about that. Man, I would love to just like without like make a foundation. I don't think that would be good though. There's definitely Johnre.
SPEAKER_02So I said when you were inside, don't know how to use don't know how to deal with money. You're real to the life. What's the difference? What's up, man? Yo, man.
SPEAKER_04How you doing, buddy?
SPEAKER_03What's the difference between having $800 billion and a trillion? He's amazing.
SPEAKER_04Uh I don't know. I can only tell you the difference between having $800 and a thousand, bro. Settle down.
SPEAKER_03But I'm saying though, you see, like that shit really doesn't matter. What is two that $200 billion doesn't really matter?
SPEAKER_04Well, for these, yeah, I'd like to find out. For the ultra rich, yeah, nothing.
SPEAKER_02I'd like to know from experience. I'll do I'll do all the research you need. You know what? I'll just start at 1 billion. How about that? Yeah, no big deal.
SPEAKER_04What do you think? Okay, let me let me ask you this. Would you rather in the lottery be the lucky guy that won one million dollars or three hundred million dollars? Think about it.
SPEAKER_03Whichever one you want to know.
SPEAKER_04No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Think about it.
SPEAKER_02Well, the comment the first thing is of course three hundred million. I'm going three hundred. I'm curious. Why? What's the kicker?
SPEAKER_04Well, because most people that have never managed that amount of money and been able to get that on their own. No. I'll spend 20 million. If you suck with money, you're still gonna suck with money with 300 million. You're gonna buy all this stuff, you're gonna go bankrupt. That's why they have these shows like the mil the lottery life. But if you got one million, you pay off all your debt, you buy everything, you buy everything. No, you you own everything that you own, and now you're still a regular person hanging out with your regular friends. I think that's true. Not at some cocktail party where you're trying to fit in and shit. You're still you're you're still your regular self. I knew somebody who I knew somebody who got a million dollars from their like inheritance, and he was a regular fucking dude.
SPEAKER_02Buying the house that you want, buying the car that you want. But I feel like it's still the same thing because when you have that money and you're not think about it for real.
SPEAKER_04Think about it in terms of how your life will change. I don't think you really think about that.
SPEAKER_05I think I would be terrified to go back to tell you what I'm doing.
SPEAKER_04Your life will absolutely change. You will never be the same. You can no longer hang out at this tape. You can't hang out with your friends.
SPEAKER_02Why?
SPEAKER_04Without thinking they're gonna want something from you. You're gonna have cousins. There's a mental aspect to it for sure. Out of the woodwork saying, Oh, I remember when we were best friends, I was like, No, I don't even know you. If you won the lottery, you would be bombarded with all these people that knew you all throughout your life. That's people that are fake. No, a million, you pay off your shit, you don't have anything to give anybody.
SPEAKER_05I know some people that might ask me for 20 bucks.
SPEAKER_04I'm just telling you, man. I'm still gonna take the 300 million. I understand what's Brewster's millions. You take the 300, but what are you gonna do with it?
SPEAKER_02I just disagree.
SPEAKER_04You can't spend that money unless you unless that movie. Yeah, it's great. It's great because he had to do it in a way where hard it was. Yeah, how hard it was.
SPEAKER_03Well, I know one thing. I'd get to I'd I'd expedite the process of pumping out some children. I'd know that. And now I'd try to make a million months.
SPEAKER_04Now let me ask you this how how badly do you want your kids to grow up as rich kids who now have millions of dollars?
SPEAKER_02Pretty bad. Because they're they're the shittiest.
SPEAKER_04See, dogs because they're gonna turn out terrible. Yeah, they're gonna turn out terrible. With that one million dollars where you got to really start over because you were a stupid kid that had debt and all that stuff, or bought a house and now it's wow, it's paid off. Now I've got a whole new lease on life. I'm at zero and I'm this age and I make this much money. So all that I'm saying is that million dollars doesn't draw in all these vultures that want to take all your shit. It just makes it to where you are in a better, more comfortable position in life where you put your life already, where you already want to be.
SPEAKER_03What about 50 then?
SPEAKER_04Million. I think that it's the same thing, man. I think that's I I'm not saying I'd turn dude, I'd love to have millions and millions of dollars.
SPEAKER_02I'd love you to as well.
SPEAKER_04But I'm saying, like, I first of all, I feel like, and everybody says this, I would be better at managing it because one. I think you would be I'd be terrified to start. I've been studying it for many years.
SPEAKER_02I think you would be too. But I also think that it's that's two.
SPEAKER_04I hate gambling. I'm scared of gambling. I hate it. It's the worst thing in the world.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but I I think your heart's too big. I think you would give your kids. Oh, I would absolutely, but I would make it but I would find a way to make everybody should not have a lot of things.
SPEAKER_04But I would make everybody the weight what they need, like college money for this kid and college money, you know. But you have things. But you have to have these grades. You have to have these grades, and you know what I mean? Things like that. And if you don't want stipulations, go get a fucking loan. Go get a job. You know, yeah, go get a job. But that's how I would help my family. I would buy a house for you, I'd buy this, I'd be, you know, just because if if I give money to mom, she's gonna put a golden statue of Mark America in the front yard. You know what I mean? Like, she's not good with money. My mom used to own businesses.
SPEAKER_02We were kids. She, the person that she started a business with years and years ago. What was the business? Uh it's just babysitting. Uh but she started a business, and that business, she ended up selling it to her partner. All right. And that partner, they take multiple cruises a year, they own multiple houses, they're rich as fuck. I'm like, you are the worst.
SPEAKER_04But aren't you glad that you grew up in poverty? No.
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_04I am. I'm glad that I grew up in power. I'm glad we grew up poor. I'm glad that we were what it's like to need. Yeah, but dad didn't let us feel poor, poor.
SPEAKER_03So do you think that kids we knew?
SPEAKER_04Dude, yeah.
SPEAKER_02We still had a roof over our head. We had we had war meals at night.
SPEAKER_04Felt poor. We didn't feel poor. We just later on knew, oh shit, I think I was poor.
SPEAKER_02Well, dad busted his ass. He was a single father.
SPEAKER_04And he took us to Cub Scouts and he took us to baseball. But sometimes we had like tuna milts for dinner, you know, like that's what we could afford.
SPEAKER_03If you get to do all that shit, but that's the point.
SPEAKER_04We never felt poor. Yeah. We never felt that. People were telling us how they dad used to do poor is he didn't know where your next person is. My dad used to do side jobs so that we could be in these things. So that we couldn't make enough, but he did go do side jobs so that we could do these things. And he didn't make us feel that way. Nope. He just did it.
SPEAKER_03Well, if you make your kids feel that way like they owe you something, you're a piece of shit. My kids do owe me something. Let me tell you something.
SPEAKER_04And he came to our shit. Yep. He came to our shit. He would have been. He was at all of our stuff. He would be on this podcast. He was at every fucking thing we did. Baseball. Fucking can't put a dollar back.
SPEAKER_02However, however. What a dick move, Dying like Dying like that.
SPEAKER_04Well, it turns out he's severely he was severely allergic to plane crashes. Yeah. So he died in 2015 in a plane crash. Dang it. But he was the pilot, you know. Um mechanical failure of the plane. But that, you know, that uh fueled me to the plane and do it.
SPEAKER_02Lee, if you ever take Robbie up, be like, don't worry, uh, this is the same mechanic that fixed dad's plane. Oh, geez.
SPEAKER_04First of all, funny, but dad always taught me do not ever scare your passengers. Like, no. Get the fuck out of here. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. All the time. Turn the fucking engine off. We were his kid. Oh, man. No, we didn't. He put it in idol. I now know this. He put it in idol to show you that he can glide anywhere he wants.
SPEAKER_02Why did he do that?
SPEAKER_04Because idol.
SPEAKER_02Because he's scared.
SPEAKER_04Not just a little shit. Not people that he took. Whatever. Just his kids. Just his kids. But when we but when we took our friends, he would never do that. When we took like family members, he would never do that. Because he was like, if you want people to want to keep flying, don't scare them. Don't do this. Don't do that.
SPEAKER_02What if I already don't want to fly? I did not want to keep flying.
SPEAKER_04No, you're fucking making that up. He never scared us. Remember when he would make something float off your hand from the zero gravity?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, he did a nickel and I was like, grabbed it and I was like, put my hands on the bug. He never felt that before.
SPEAKER_04He had 6,600 flight hours when he died. So I mean he he was an ATP air. He wasn't airline transport pilot. He he had CFI, like all multi-engine rating. You know what I remember? He was getting somebody in his multi-engine rating.
SPEAKER_02When we were on vacation in Florida, he was like, hey, you want to just for the hell of it fly to fly to um.
SPEAKER_04No, he didn't tell us. He didn't tell us. We were in the pool.
SPEAKER_02That's not the point of the story. When we got there, we didn't have our passports. And he was like, I don't care, just stamp my book. He didn't care. I remember him saying that. I don't care if you don't let us in, just stamp my book. So it says on his on his thing that I've been here. I don't remember that. I do. So our dad. And then they talk, it was like, it's okay. Come on. This is the first time. We're like 12 and 10. Sure, come on in. Right?
SPEAKER_04We're 12 and 10, somewhere around there. Somewhere around there. I'm not quite a teenager.
SPEAKER_02I remember him saying, I don't care. I just went up the book.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. So we're in we're in Florida. We my dad used to take me, me, him, and my dad would get in our little Hyundai, a little four-seater Hyundai, a little tiny fucking how the hell did it ever drive Hyundai? And we drive down to the east, all down the east coast of Florida. And then sometimes we went to Keel Island.
SPEAKER_05Yep.
SPEAKER_04But most of the time we stayed on the East Coast. One time we went on the two times. Niagara Falls? One time. Niagara Falls. One time we went on the west coast of Florida. And then one time Niagara Falls. Yeah, Florida. We did that. We did the west coast of Florida. The Gulf Coast. But anyway, we go down there and one time we're in every hotel we got had to have a pool because me and Jared are fucking fish. We're fish, dude. And he'd be videoing us, he's like, if I hear one more Beavis and impression, I'm gonna I'm gonna lose it. Yeah. Because that's all we're doing, you know, at the time that wasn't that was popular. But we had to be in the pool. Me and Jared were just in the pool everywhere we went. In the pool or in the tool.
SPEAKER_02And he also said it has to be the top floor. Uh and we went one hotel, it was just a two-floor. And he was like, we have to have the top floor. Yeah, yeah. I remember that. That was cool.
SPEAKER_04So anyway, uh my dad was like, I'm gonna go do something real quick. You guys stay here and hang. We're old enough. Yeah. So we're swimming. He was going out and getting checked out in a Cessna. You if you're a pilot, no matter where you go, I have a pilot's license in my pocket right now. But if I go somewhere, I show it to him. I go up and fly with them to prove that I can fly, and then I'll go and do it. Now I'm not current, so I can't take passengers right now. But he was current anyway. Freaking poser. So listen, so you shut up, everybody. It's my story. So anyway, because so he comes back, he's like, all right, pack up, we're leaving. And we checked out of the hotel. And we're like, where are we going? He didn't tell us. We get to the airport, we're like, oh shit. We've flown our whole lives. Well, we throw all our shit on the plane, we take off from Florida, and we're over the ocean for an hour, dude. The ocean. Just the ocean. Like, if you I've never our whole lives, we've flown over, we've flown over every, you know, land, and we're like, well, if we needed to land. But we're over the ocean. Wasn't it a little bit?
SPEAKER_02I was asleep.
SPEAKER_04Oh, yeah, he was asleep. And I'm up there like I don't enjoy it at all. I'm like, this is boring. Where are we gonna land if we don't need to land? Right.
SPEAKER_02And that's exactly what it sounds like, too, by the way.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, it's super like muffled. Super muffled. But anyway, he's like, nah, we're good. You don't have to worry about it. So we get over to the Bahamas. My dad fucking flew us to the Bahamas, dude. That's sick. And we spent like the weekend there, I think. A day the night Freeport. It was Freeport. And that guy, the the the my dad has the CD. My dad has the CD.
SPEAKER_02Oh, that's right. I remember that.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, Farley or something. Anyway. Bob Marley? Some dude. No, but it was dreads.
SPEAKER_02But it was cool. Walking through the night. It was beautiful.
SPEAKER_04It was a beautiful night. The the stars were shining, the fucking lights were on. These guys were singing in the street. And we're just kids, and somebody actually offered me weed, and I was like, I'm 12, you know. I don't know. So, but it was my dad flew us there. And remember when we were about to land, there was a drug plane in the water. No, I don't know. You don't remember you were sleeping. Damn it. So there's a drug plane like crashed in the water.
SPEAKER_01I did enjoy that shit. It was so boring. It was so like, oh look, ocean.
SPEAKER_04Well, because he had me fly. My dad always had me fly.
SPEAKER_02I didn't give a shit.
SPEAKER_04But like if I'm in the front seat, he would have me fly. And he'd be like, keep it on this and make it on that. Keep it on the thing. You know, and you and then when I learned that when I did it in flight school, I was like, oh, okay. Same thing dad told me to do. Yeah. So I started after everybody else, but I was the first one to finish. Because of dad, you know.
SPEAKER_02That's what I heard about you. You're always the first to finish.
SPEAKER_04Man, both minutes for both seconds. Both inches for both minutes.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. There you go. Total package. Classic. No pun intended.
SPEAKER_04We're 10 over. You guys want to keep going, or what are we doing? I enjoy it. I like that. I'm having fun too, but TK's got to edit all this. That's true. So three more hours?
SPEAKER_03Marathon episode.
SPEAKER_04Unless you got another story, man. Then we might have to.
SPEAKER_02Bro, I could talk camping all day.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, but you're not like telling a story.
SPEAKER_02No, not yet. Who's going to tell a story after? When I come up next week to bring you your stuff back, you'll have a story.
SPEAKER_04I'm off all week. Yeah. We'll have to remember, remind me tomorrow we gotta clear all those SD cards.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I don't want to be seeing any of your D O V video.
SPEAKER_04We'll clear all those SD cards and then we'll clear your STDs with something. I don't know how we'll do it.
SPEAKER_02I've tried. They just keep coming back. It's the weirdest thing.
SPEAKER_04Well. Ready? I mean, hell. Why not?
SPEAKER_02Oh.
SPEAKER_04Boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy. What's this an SD? Oh boy, oh boy.
SPEAKER_00We gotta go, but you can't stay here.
