SPEAKER_00

It's time for your wake up call.

SPEAKER_01

Hello and welcome to the wake up call show. I'm Pastor Annie Sally.

SPEAKER_00

And I'm Pastor Warren Sally. Our scripture for this evening is coming from Matthew 11, 28 through 29 that says, Then Jesus said, Come to me, all you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your soul.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Amen. Thank you for tuning in to this week's empowerment. Our topic tonight is understanding the promises of God through the name of God's prayer. Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you and we praise you. Dear God, we thank you for who you are. God, we thank you, God, for all that you're doing, dear Father. Lord, we ask that you, God, touch tonight, God. Touch every listener, God. Touch every viewer tonight, God. Everyone under the sound of my voice, God, give us revelation. Give us knowledge and understanding tonight, God. As we, God, study your word, God, to show ourselves approved. Need us not be ashamed, but rightly defy the word of God. Lord, you give us increase tonight, God. You do a new thing in us, God. And for that, we'll give your name all the honor and all the glory. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Grab your pencils and your paper. Let's go into the word of God.

SPEAKER_00

Amen. Let's look at Exodus 15 and 26. Exodus chapter 15, verse 26. The term Jehovah Rapha first appears in the Exodus 15, 26, where God reveals Himself as the Lord who heals. This phrase means the Lord who heals and is significant in the context, amen, of the uh Israelites journey in the desert where they encountered bitter waters that were unfit to drink, where God, uh the man of God was uh obedient and God telling him to put this wood in uh to make the water drinkable to demonstrate his uh healing power. Wow. Um the man of God being Moses and who was uh talking about here in Exodus 15, 26. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

So he mocked a spot and called him Jehovah Raphael, the God who heals. Amen. Amen. You know when I look at these names and think of the time in which they were instituted, it makes me thinking, it makes me think of certain instances in my life where I mocked a spot, you know, and called him Jehovah Rapha. I know personally about Jehovah Rapha, the God who heals this body, this mind, the soul. Amen. You can attest to that, and many of you can as well. So let's go deeper into the study of Jehovah Raphael, the Lord who heals. So that was one incidence and the very first recorded in the Bible with Moses in Exodus 15 and 26. And there are other illustrations throughout the Bible, and we're gonna talk about some of those as well. Well, when we think of healing, we think of healing in many instances. We think of sickness and infirmity. I alluded to that just a moment ago. And so, in doing so, we can look at Psalms uh 41 and 3.

SPEAKER_00

The Lord sustains them on their sick bed and restores them from their bed of illness.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. So that's healing manifestation from sickness and infirmity. We serve a God not only to save us, but to deliver us, to heal us, to um supply our needs. You know, the names of God mean so many different things, and that's why it's so imperative that we break down these studies where we can call on him according to the name that describes where we are.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, if you need physical. And it's just like um, you know, we have many, many names. Um I'm father, um, I'm papa, um, I'm I'm uncle. My mom called me Warren Lee. So this it's you know, we I have all these names, and it's whomever calls that needs that specific name. So if my kids need me, they they call me daddy. All right. You know, so it's so that's and it's just like you're saying with the the the names of God that um the names of God that we've been dealing with and and and and this one on tonight um is a name that we've all called on many times, and every morning, every morning before I get up, these old bones are creaking. You know, I gotta call on that name.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. You and I both, amen, amen. It's nothing like having a personal relationship with God and also in different instances. That's where our faith grows deeper, right? And our roots intertwine even the more. You know, when I call him Jehovah Rapha, you know, I feel the presence of God because of my affliction, because of my pain, whether it be physical, mental, uh, emotional, any type, when I call him Jehovah Rapha, I feel that that hovering father comes to my aid. Yes. You know, and many don't understand because you may not have reached out to him in that instance as of yet. But when you do, you will grow in that relationship with him as Jehovah Rapha. Amen. And our next scripture.

SPEAKER_00

Um, if we'll turn to Jonah uh chapter 2, verses 5 through 7, it says, the waters closed in over me to take my life, the deep surrounded me, weeds were wrapped about my head at the roots of the mountains. Wow. I went down to the land whose bars closed upon me forever. Yet you brought me up my life from the pit. Have you ever been brought up from the pit? Amen. Oh Lord God, when my life was fading away, I remembered the Lord, and my prayer came to you into your holy temple. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

And that's talking, uh, this is Jonah, and we talked about Jonah a few weeks ago, how Jonah, God gave him a commandment and gave him um um directions, and Jonah went the opposite direction. And what I love about this story, regardless to whether or not the Bible says that wherever we make our bed, he'll be there with us. Jonah was in the belly of the whale at this particular time because he was disobedient and he went into the opposite direction in which God sent him. However, God heard him through his prayer, and the Bible says God delivered him, and he caused that whale to release them on dry ground. So wherever you are tonight, whatever you're going through, think it not strange the fiery trials which come to try you as though something strange has happened. The Bible said the eyes of the Lord is on the righteous, his ears are open to our prayers. If you pray, God will hear your prayer. If you're sincere, regardless to how deep you have dead into the sea. Do not think you are without a God that cares and a God that can and a God that will deliver you. Amen. Amen. Spiritual fatigue. We can all attest to that. Psalms 23 and 3. He refreshes my soul, David says. He guides me along the right path for his name's sake.

SPEAKER_00

Oh man.

SPEAKER_01

I love that. Not for my name's sake, for his name's sake.

SPEAKER_00

And we all need we need refreshing. I mean, every every every day I ask the Lord to refresh my mind and pray for my family. I pray for all my family every day. Yes. Um, to refresh us because you never know what the day is going to hold. Right. And and and one thing about me, I don't worry about tomorrow because the Bible tells me that. The word of God tells you it'll take care of itself. So I just ask God just to give me the grace and the strength and the refreshing I need to go about my day.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. And I love that you said that, babe, because oftentimes people feel as though they don't need a refreshing because they've been in Christ for many, many years. That is untrue. David here is asking the Lord to refresh him. And he calls David a man after his own heart. David knew just who he was and who he was to God. Even when he fell with Bathsheba, David knew how to get on his knees and seek God's face. David knew how to pray and ask God's forgiveness. So David is here and saying, God, refresh my soul. My soul, refresh me, God, renew me, strengthen me, build me up where I've been torn down. Life happens to us all. And during the course of life, sometimes we lose our resilience. We lose our strength and our drive to move forward. And we have to ask the Lord and be quite frank with him and honest with him. God, I'm not feeling like myself today. I need you to strengthen me. I need you to restore the joy of my salvation. Pick me up, guide me, lead me. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

And then we have emotional healing. Yes, Psalms 147 and 3. He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. And you may be right in that predicament tonight. You may be broken. We're in our holiday season. Many of us have lost family members. And during the season, we feel um sometimes distressed, sometimes we feel anxious, um, depressed. Whatever the Bible says in Psalm 47 and 3, he heals the brokenhearted and he binds up our wound. We have not a high priest that cannot be touched by the feeling of our infirmity. Whatever you're going through, wherever you find yourself tonight, God knows and he's waiting to hear from you. And that's why it's imperative to understand just who you are in him and who's um and who he is to you. You know, as you um as you gather together in a relationship, such as you know, our relationship as husband and wife, as friends before husband and wife, the more I know about you, the more I glean to you.

SPEAKER_00

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. And the more you know about me, you know about me as well, because our relationship is evolving. And so that's why you have to have a relationship with God. Not Sundays, not Sunday afternoons, but 24-7. Whisper a word of prayer. Wake up in the morning and say, Good morning, Holy Spirit. Lead God and direct me. God, if you find anything in me that should not be, take it out. Lead and God, direct me, God, my mouth, but your will be done. And so that's embarking on that relationship, such as we do during our throughout the day. How are you doing? How are you feeling? I just called to say that I'm thinking about you, I'm praying, I'm praying for you, I'm praying with you. That's what God desires.

SPEAKER_00

Amen. Amen. What about anxiety and worry um out of John chapter 14, verse 27? It says, The peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives. I give it to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful. Amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

So that equates to the peaceful God. Talk about that. The peace of God.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the peace, the peace of God. You know, uh, just as he says, not as the world gives, because the peace that you may think that the world gives you is not lasting. Uh, we may try to find peace in a bottle or drugs or or what have you. Um it may be peaceful for a little while. And but it's not something that's lasting. That's just, you know, you I've I've read and heard stories of of people that had lots of money, they had everything they want that they can need, but yet they didn't have a relationship with God. But they always felt that there was something a void, there was uh um, there was something missing. Um, but just as it says in John 14 and 27, he said he's gonna leave peace with you. And this is a peace that that the world doesn't understand. Um when um when when you go through a lot of uh these uh tragic events and things that you may see on TV, or you may have experienced yourself, and and people are wondering, looking for you to just go crazy, but they just don't know that the God, that the peace that they have, you know, of course, family is important. Absolutely, and to have someone you can lean on, right, but it's nothing like the peace of God, nothing like the peace of God.

SPEAKER_01

There is nothing like the peace of God, and you can be in a turmoil and you've got the peace of God, and folks are looking around like, how in the world? How did he make it through that? Yes, how is she making it through that? It's the peace of God that surpasses all understanding, the Bible says. Amen. Amen. And then we're gonna talk about Psalms 34, 18. And we mentioned that one already. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted. So, what I love about this scripture, and I go back to it oftentimes in different types of situations, I remind God of his word concerning the scripture, meaning that when I am too heavy to pray, when I'm overwhelmed, I pray for God to lead me, guide me, cover me, and I feel as though he's carrying me in those seasons. And so I think the scripture is telling us when you're brokenhearted, when you're down in odds, you still have a God that cares.

SPEAKER_00

But then, but and and then, too, if you look at that that same scripture, um a lot of people feel that just because they're going through a lot or they're brokenhearted, they feel that God is far away from them. Because if it if he was close, then this wouldn't happen to them. But the thing um that you should thank God and praise God for when you're going through stuff like that, you're going through broken-hearted times, just know that he comes closer. He is closer than and and not far away. I know, trust me, I know what you're talking about. I know how it's how it feels to go through and feel that you're the only one in this whole world that's going through what you're going through. But just know and and and and just recite this Psalm 34 and 18 that God is closer. Amen. He comes close to me, even though even the close.

SPEAKER_01

And that makes me think about the Hebrew boys when they were thrown into the pit and how they saw God in the midst with them. He was in the furnace right with them. So he is in the midst of what you're going through. God is there, he will never leave you, nor will he forsake you. The Bible declares that he will never leave you and forsake you. He says, when you're going through the fire, I'll be there with you, and you won't even come out smelling like the smokes. When you're overwhelmed by the waters of life, I'm right there with you. So remember in those times when the enemy is speaking to your mind and you're having all of these negative conversations with yourself. God is a forever present help in the time of trouble. The Bible said this old man he prayed, he cried out to the Lord in his distresses, and the Lord delivered him out of everything, but he had to cry out to the Lord, he had to acknowledge that God, I'm here and I need you. And God delivered him, and God is waiting on you tonight to cry out to him. Amen. Amen. Amen. Oh, praise God, praise God. And any other ones you want to uh single out tonight.

SPEAKER_00

Um, Matthew 19 and 2, and it says in Judea, large crowds followed him, and he healed them there. In fact, wherever he went into villages, towns, or countryside, they placed the sick in the marketplace. Wow. Because they knew when he was. And it's something how um back they didn't have social media, they didn't have cell phones, so they could say, hey man, Jesus coming to town. Come on, let's go. Yeah, and his his greatness, his his power preceded him to the point where whenever he came to the village, to these villages, the people had to sit out there waiting. This man healed his people, making them making them blind, see, lame his walking. And and like I said, and his popularity spread it like spreading like wildfire. And like I said, they didn't have social media, they didn't have uh podcasts and television shows. Amen. You know, Jesus, um Jesus' power went and preceded him. And these people said, hey, we got sick, we're gonna bring him up and let people get healed. Just like the man that dropped that dropped the um dropped that friend from the roof. Right, right, made a hole in the roof. Yes. Yes, yes, you got to do what you got to do to get to him.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. And what about the woman with the issue of blood? The Bible said she had it for 12 long years, and and she heard. She heard something. She heard that Jesus was coming. So she pressed through the crowd, and they were trying to keep her from touching him. But the Bible said she touched the hem of his garment. Yes, and he looked back. He felt the virtue leaving him, and he said, Your faith has made you home. So it's faith. It's faith that's gonna get you what you need from God, it's faith that's gonna get your healing tonight. He is Jehovah Rafa, he is the Lord that heals, he is a delivering God, he is a prayer-answering God, but you're gonna have to reach out and touch him. What about the Satyrian? You remember?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he said, um, he said, just speak the word.

SPEAKER_01

Just speak the word. And you know, I've got someone home that's sick. And Jesus said, I'll come.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, because he felt like um he wasn't worthy enough for Jesus to even come into his own. He said, just send the word. That's all I need. And he and his faith, just by just believing, he can just send a word, um, healed that man.

SPEAKER_01

That's right, that's right, without even going. And just where you are tonight, where your loved ones may be, you may not be in reach, but guess what? He is. Speak the word, send the word, pray, cover them in prayer, and God will heal, God will deliver. He said, if I have two or three touching of the green on anything, I'll be in the midst. So if we're together touching to the green, believing God for our healing, God's gonna answer. Believe in God for your Healing, God's gonna deliver. Amen. Amen. Amen. He is the Lord that heals. He's the Lord that uh binds up the brokenhearted and bandages your wounds. Amen. Amen. Jeremiah 3 and 22 says, Oh Lord, if you heal me, I'll truly be healed. If you save me, I'll truly be saved. Amen. Amen. Can't nobody do it like the Lord. Nobody. Can't nobody do it like the Lord. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Closer to Mark. You know, all of this is good to, you know, for us and for us as a refresher, to refresh our souls, and also to speak to you out there that's that's that's that's needing healing. But it's emotionally, mentally, physically, spiritually, spiritual healing. God is able and he's ready to do it for you right now. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Rapha. The Lord that heals.

SPEAKER_01

He's ready to fix whatever's broken in your life. Amen. Amen. And closing remarks tonight. The God who heals restores us physically, spiritually, and emotionally. We can call on Jehovah Rafa right now. And he'll be ready to fix whatever is broken in our lives. If there is anything in your life that you need healing, you can come to him right now. With the words of Jeremiah 17, 14, says, Heal me, O Lord, and I shall be healed. Save me and I shall be saved. And I will praise your name. Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Let's apply this. Let's make this applicable to today. You know, we heard the words of Jeremiah and David and all that. Let's make that applicable to today. Let's start by engaging in prayer, meditation, inviting the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us through your struggles, through our struggles. Reflect on scripture, but particularly passages that speak of God's compassion and restoration, such as Psalms 147 and 3, which reminds us that He heals the brokenhearted. Surround yourself with a supportive community, your church family, your trusted friends, those you that can encourage you, give you an encouraging word and pray with you.

SPEAKER_01

Amen. Amen. And remember, healing is not always instantaneously. It's often a gradual process that requires patience and faith. Remember, all things work together for the good of them that love God. And in doing so, he increases our faith, increases our walk, increases our calling. So be mindful. It may not be instantaneously, but it may be a gradual process. Do not be weary while doing. Okay? And remember that God will heal and God will deliver.

SPEAKER_00

Amen. Let's pray for healing tonight. Let's just pray, you know, this time of the year, a lot of people are going through a lot of mental anguish because of loved ones that they're missing.

unknown

Amen.

SPEAKER_00

Let's pray for let's pray for spiritual, emotional, and physical healing.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So let's pray for the clause of Jehovah Rafa. Amen. Jehovah Rafa, we call on you tonight. Amen. We call on your name to heal our marriages. Yes. We call on your name to heal our minds. We call on your name to heal us physically and emotionally. And God, you you know where they are right now. You know where each of us are. You say you are close to our broken brook to the broken heartedness. Yes, God. And Father, right now, my heart is broken in two. Yes. And God, I pray that you touch that heart tonight. Yes, God. Oh God, we pray that you heal, God. Deliver and set free right now in the name of Jesus. We thank you. We come to you tonight in praise and in prayer right now.

unknown

And we're giving you the praise in advance.

SPEAKER_00

Oh God, for your healing in the name of Jesus. We give all praise, honor, and glory to you right now. In Jesus' name. Amen. Amen.

SPEAKER_01

And when you're praying this prayer to Jehovah, we'll pray to heal. Remember the scriptures that pertains to healing. Amen. Jot those down. Isaiah 53. We want to pray the remember the Bible said that he will uh heal us. And so Isaiah is one of those ones. And all of the ones that we spoke we uh uh read tonight, write those scriptures down. Go in your index. Get other scriptures that's relatable. When you're praying to Jehovah Ralph for healing, you want to get the scriptures that's relatable to healing. You want to read the Bible verses and the stories that pertains to. Because what you're doing, you're proving God's word back to him. Amen. Isaiah 53 and 5. So remember that, okay?
