Bet Big Talk Loud Podcast with Chrish Hodge and JR July 17th, 2026

SPEAKER_00

All right, welcome back to the Bet Big Talk Loud Podcast. It is Friday, July 17th. We had a week off, but we're back refreshed. I'm Chris Hodge. This is JR. We're gonna do a fun podcast here. We got some things to talk about. Um, but first, I have to say this, and and you don't know this, okay, but I think you're going to agree with me. One of the bigger scumbags in the entire world, okay, is a guy that when you're playing craps, bets against the table. I don't think there's a bigger scumbag on earth than a guy like that.

SPEAKER_01

Man, you no good? I was taught when when I was learning all the different casino games that the better bet at the craps table is always gonna be the don't pass.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Whatever.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, am I gonna sit there and be like, bro, it's seven?

SPEAKER_00

No, that's it.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, you gotta be quiet. You put your money on, you just shut up.

SPEAKER_00

That guy did that. Uh, I was in Atlantic City this past weekend having fun, playing the table games, getting my cock knocked in, whatever, with these friggin' blackjack. Yo, the blackjack dealer remembered me the next day. He's like, oh, I got this guy yesterday, man. He killed me, man. But that was fun. We're playing craps. And, you know, we got this guy after the point is made. He's betting the seven and outwardly betting. And now it's his right. He's allowed to do it, it's his money. He's allowed to do whatever he wants to do.

SPEAKER_01

I see nothing wrong.

SPEAKER_00

He's a scumbag. I don't like people like that. I don't like people that root against the table.

SPEAKER_01

Root for the casino? He's looking to make money. The casino doesn't make money on your seven. I don't care, man.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like it.

SPEAKER_01

They have a rake.

SPEAKER_00

No, no part of me liked it. I didn't like it. Betting against the seven. They're making money no matter what.

SPEAKER_01

But casino's making money no matter what. Agreed. So if why wouldn't you take the casino? So does the casino beat the player more often than not? You're right. More than 90%. I just don't like it. So why not just put, you know. It's a scumbag thing to do. You just gotta be quiet about it. You don't get up there and be like, jinx, jinx, jinx.

SPEAKER_00

Yo, man. I tex you. This was a guy. I did not like him. I flat out told him I didn't like him. And then I went and got my own table. I couldn't deal with him no more.

SPEAKER_01

Do you know all my years, and I've played some big money in the casinos, I've never gotten my own table. I went and got it. Never looked, I don't even know who to go to if I want to. I'm in the high limit rooms. I'm like, are you serious? And I never had the audacity to say, hey, can I get my own table? And I love one-on-one. You know that. That's my thing. One-on-one blackjack. Yep. System that don't lose.

SPEAKER_00

I had enough and I hate people. And every time I'm around people, I'm reminded of why I hate people. So that was that. But that is the truth, folks.

SPEAKER_01

Make no mistake. Yeah, I hate them. Big, big summon on this card should say dogs, because people suck. I saw that.

SPEAKER_00

Someone had that. I know, I told you. Someone had that. Yeah, that's a great people sticker. Should be yours. Um, couple things here, just some comedy stuff. I don't know if y'all we're gonna play the video right now. The guy who supposedly lost 250,000. Oh my god. I did it three times.

SPEAKER_01

It's so funny.

SPEAKER_00

Yo, here's my be a man. Okay, you lost 250, not good. No, not but I'm telling you right now, if I lost 250 at a casino, there would not be a video of me being dragged out crying.

SPEAKER_01

Might be a video of me so drunk that I'm on a stretcher, but no, never ever.

SPEAKER_00

Might be a video of me with a knife in my heart from my wife when I go back and tell her. Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Listen, in this business, you you and I know how much how much money have we had on games in the past where I mean there was one I can remember almost 20 years ago when I was living in Las Vegas where the game meant uh, and it was it was a Super Bowl. It was the Pittsburgh Steelers, Arizona Cardinals Super Bowl, and I had Pittsburgh in the under. It was a lock with seven minutes to go. Seven and eight minutes.

SPEAKER_00

We know not we know better than you know.

SPEAKER_01

When I say a lock, yo, I'm making literally just under 400,000 in my pocket if if that holds on, okay. Even if I get the split, I'm still picking up like 200K. And I'm a Steelers fan. I'm watching it with my family, okay? My family at the time is young. All my kids are wearing Pittsburgh Steelers jerseys. My wife has a Pittsburgh Steelers jersey on. Now, if you guys remember how that game ended, great play. A lot of points. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So second best pass in touch in Super Bowl history.

SPEAKER_01

That's unbelievable. And again, the under was a lock. You're gonna get mad at that. And and the Steelers covering was a lock, and I went 0-2 in a matter of six minutes. Now the Steelers won the game. So my family is going crazy. Like, yeah, you gotta daddy and I'm like they're like, how come you're not happy? Yeah, yeah, no, I'm happy. Meanwhile, I'm like $400,000.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna tell you why. Well, I can't I can't talk about the Steelers, but I was in Vegas for that Super Bowl as well, and I'm gonna tell you why the under lost. Because everybody bet it? No, no, no, not everybody. One guy. And my best friend, he's watching this, my best friend Rob, he loaded up on the under in that Super Bowl. And my boy Rob, and he knows this, he will just text me out of the blue, B-L-E. He would just text me that out of the blue. And I'll be like, what the hell does that mean? This was years ago, and he's he does it to this day. He's like biggest loser ever. And he would just text me, he's talking about himself. He was on the under in that game, and that you're right, that game had no business ever going over.

SPEAKER_01

Ever. Not even remotely close. I think the score was like 14 to 3 with seven or eight. It was some stupid score. 17 points or something like that. The total was 38. Yeah, and then it just they scored just back and forth, back and forth.

SPEAKER_00

Before we get going, I gotta talk about this story here. Um, by the way, I I have a great idea for the NFL, which you know nothing about in terms of my idea. You're very knowledgeable and astute with the NFL. I'm gonna bring it up to you. I want to see if you like it. But before we get there, you know that I have railed against the NCAA and college coaches forever. Yes. Now, I had a college coach who I revered and loved, Coach O, who passed uh many, many years ago. He was my favorite coach of all time. I've never run into a better coach than this guy, and he taught me a lot. And I think he's the only college coach that I really liked. I hated the rest of them, right? He was my wide receiver's coach. You got this kid from Western Kentucky. I don't know if you heard this story. Victory Vaca. Okay. His mother died, unfortunately. He goes to the funeral, okay? Western Kentucky. I guess he got back later. It was taking some time because his mother died. There are more important things in life, right? They pulled the scholarship.

unknown

Come on.

SPEAKER_00

And that's what colleges do. I told my son when he was going through it, I said, you gotta understand these coaches do not care. And if you're a coach out there watching this, you're full of shit. You do not truly care about the players, you care about your own one loss percentage and your own pocket and feeding your own families and making your own money. That's what you truly care about. You do not truly care about the 85 athletes for you. Maybe you care about the two that are gonna help you win games, but to drop this kid's scholarship from Western Kentucky after he went to his mother's funeral. This is a now you know.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know nothing about the kid. He must suck as a wide receiver.

SPEAKER_00

No, not even a wide receiver. He's a defensive lineman, and we're not gonna say that. I don't know if he's a good or bad player.

SPEAKER_01

I'm assuming they didn't want to have the scholarship there. They wanted to.

SPEAKER_00

You gave him one.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

You gave him one.

SPEAKER_01

They were looking for a reason.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

I agree with that. Terrible reason. Right. So And I'm glad they're being put on blast.

SPEAKER_00

You know I hate lawyers almost as much as anyone. The only ones that like lawyers are lawyers. This is the time I wish I was a lawyer because I would take this case and suit them to the bejesus bell man and just say, fuck it. Get this kid all of this money and um go from there. But at the end of the day, I don't understand how that how that happens. I don't understand why that happens. This guy, this just my my producer sends me a picture of me playing poker with dog when my nick's coming in.

SPEAKER_01

Get over here, put that producer. Put that on put that on the damn thing.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, he's got a me play. What is this, blackjack getting my dick knocked in by by all the greatest players that you know? And not you didn't have enough, you didn't have you couldn't put my dog in there. Damn, uh, whatever.

SPEAKER_01

You should have put all pit bulls in there.

SPEAKER_00

All right, let's get to this NFL. Because we're we're three, we're three months, three weeks away from the first preseason game, the Hall of Fame game. So I have an idea.

SPEAKER_01

Are we three weeks away?

SPEAKER_00

Three weeks away from the preseason game. August 6th is the uh Hall of Fame game. So I have an idea. Okay. I want you guys out there, put your comments in. See if you like this idea, you tell me if you like this idea. We agree that sports is changing in basically every landscape, right? Absolutely. Different rules, like MLB has the pitch clock, which I think was phenomenal. That's great. ABS this year, with you know, I think they've done a really good job, even though it's still getting wrong with all the technology they're using for replays, hockey offsides, ball out of bounds, NBA.

SPEAKER_01

You know, soccer with the VARs or whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. I I think I think we're doing a better job in terms of changing and making games more interesting. Okay. What we're not doing is we're really not changing the way the playoffs are done or constructed. And I was thinking about the World Cup this year. The World Cup was always 32 teams.

SPEAKER_01

Sure.

SPEAKER_00

And it went to 48. And this tournament, I'm not saying this because it was in the United States, this was one of the most like interesting tournaments that I've ever seen.

SPEAKER_01

Now, I don't know, I don't know, but I'm going to assume viewership was Studel Roof. Had to be. Because guys that I I mean, you know, we we're surrounded by sports guys. These guys don't watch soccer. Nope. Most of the guys, you do. Yeah, I do. My brother does. And and like one or two of my friends do, but everyone's watching soccer right now. Like everybody. I'm getting phone calls from my construction friends at two o'clock in the afternoon, Eastern time. You seeing this? To ask me about Argentina, and and you know, it's like wow, you know, and even me, I've I've watched more soccer in the last three weeks than I've watched in a lifetime.

SPEAKER_00

So, I mean, what Argentina did with their comebacks, and and that's gonna be a great game. We'll talk about that towards the end of the podcast. It's been great. I I think it's been great, but we don't, we haven't really changed the playoffs. So here's my idea for the NFL. Okay, okay. I hate conference play. So think about it. At some point, they're gonna go from seven, they were at 16 games, they went to 17. We're gonna get to 18 at some point.

SPEAKER_01

With two buys or one?

SPEAKER_00

I I don't know the configuration of how they're gonna do it. All right. But they're gonna play 18 games, only six games against a divisional opponent, right? And then the other 12 games are scattered out amongst the league, which is great, right? I would love to do away with the AFC and the NFC. I would love eight divisions and then the top 14 teams make the playoffs. I can't stand this seven and seven AFC, NFC. I want one, two through fourteen. Okay, one and two get the buys, all right, and then three plays 14, you know, four plays twelve, four plays thirteen, on down. You don't like it. I don't know why.

SPEAKER_01

Well, just like in politics, I I believe I like the Electoral College because it represents all of the country, not just the popular vote of a major city. Okay. What you're talking about is just taking the very best, or what seems to be the best two teams, or eight teams, or fourteen, whatever you want to do, and you're gonna have no representation from certain conferences, from certain divisions. We're getting rid of the company. No, the division winners are. I mean, so all the division winners are in.

SPEAKER_00

All division winners are in. So that's eight. That's eight. And then you got six others. So get in.

SPEAKER_01

So you're gonna tell me that there's gonna be two divisions that only have one team.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, how is that different than now? The seven and seven, there's no different. What I don't like or sometimes, and it doesn't happen every year, but what I don't like is sometimes you get a 10 and 6 team, missed the or 10 and 7 team, missed the playoffs, and then an eight and nine team wins the division and gets in. So this way, that team is going to get in. But I just I want to get to the best of the best. Okay. I want the best teams. If you play 17 games, all right, you should not miss the playoffs because of conferences where they only have seven spots to get in.

SPEAKER_01

Be better in your conference.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, but sometimes you're playing a tougher schedule than the eight or nine team.

SPEAKER_01

AFC North has always been one of the toughest conferences, right? I mean, we we know that those teams battle it out and you get.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, you got the Browns in that conference is too much.

SPEAKER_01

But still, the Bengals used to suck, but now they're very good as long as Burrow's healthy. Baltimore Ravens have been a wreck for Steelers all decades, right?

SPEAKER_00

Steelers have won had winning seasons.

SPEAKER_01

They had seasons, nothing but winning seasons for 17 straight years.

SPEAKER_00

But let's so if we went, so tell me what's more interesting, right? So we're gonna go through this, right? I like the idea of a tournament. Well, it basically is a tournament. Yeah, it is. So if you go one through 14, let's take last year's standings. Okay, okay. Broncos would be the number one seed, Seahawks would have been the number two seed. Okay. So they have buys. Number three would be the Patriots, they would have played Carolina in the first round. Okay. Number four would be Jags Jaguars, they would have played the Packers in the first round. Rams vs. Steelers is a 5'12, and we know the 5'12 in the NCAA tournament is great. Always. All right. Uh Texans were six, Chargers were, I want to say 11. Bills, Eagles, 7'10, Niners, Bay, and the biggest. That would have been insane.

SPEAKER_01

That would have been an unfair advantage for Bills playing the fuck the Eagles.

SPEAKER_00

Why is an unfair advantage?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I guess because they were number seven overall.

SPEAKER_00

Number seven overall. Yeah. So now I just I think that would have been fascinating. I think that tournament would have been fascinating. Instead of doing seven and seven, where one gets the bye, now you just have eight divisions. Your eight division winners are in. But something the NFL does now that I fucking hate is like Carolina got a home playoff game last year against the Rams. They were eight-nine. I know. They uh eight-nine, I don't care if you win your division. An eight-nine team does not deserve a home game in the playoffs. I hate it.

SPEAKER_01

I don't like it, but the setup, the way the setup is, I mean, they did their job. Okay. They were a game under 500, but they won the games they were supposed to win so much.

SPEAKER_00

So they won a shit division. Yes. And they had a home game against a team that had to play in a division with the Seahawks who won a Super Bowl. The 49ers were very good. Arizona sucks, but whatever. Okay. But you don't know what you're getting every year. Yeah, but you're not going to have four really good teams in a division. When the hell has that ever happened? You know, that's right.

SPEAKER_01

I'm one of those guys. I have not been disappointed in the way that the NFL has it set up.

SPEAKER_00

No, so here's my point to this, right? We're changing everything. I know what you're trying to do. Right. Why not take a shot with it? Why not see if it works? You uh sport the landscape.

SPEAKER_01

So that eight and nine team is still getting in, they're just not getting a home field advantage.

SPEAKER_00

Well, they'll they'll get their divisional win, right? Their divisional championship, but wherever they rank in that top 14, that's where they are record-wise. So Carolina would have been last in. And so if you look at last year, like so I would have thought I don't hate the idea. It's I listen, there's been worse ideas. I'll give you a crazy idea. I'll give you a really stupid idea. And it would this actually, I don't, well, it's a stupid idea, but I think it would be fucking fascinating. You if if the gamblers really ruled the world, I love this fucking idea. All right, a team. Let's say a college football team.

SPEAKER_01

Gamblers are like the deep state.

SPEAKER_00

How about this? College football team is minus 14. Uh uh Texas is playing whoever, right? And Texas is minus 14. Let's just get crazy. Let's just get stupid. Texas starts the game down 14-0. No point spread. Oh my god. So Texas plays Arkansas, Texas is minus 14 in the game. At kickoff, Arkansas's up 14. 14-0. And you just play it from there. Whatever the whatever Vegas or the sports books have the line at, that's what the score starts at.

unknown

Wow.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but now you're gonna have corruption in all of the lines making it. There's no there's no corruption. No, I'm just talking about the lines making is gonna be out of control. I mean, you're gonna have to have a board watching the board that's watching the board. You know what I mean? I it's but how how crazy would that be? That would be amazing.

SPEAKER_00

But you know I I wanna, I'm not trying to plagiarize anyone to say anything. Do you are you familiar with the um the comedian Jim Jeffries?

SPEAKER_01

Sure. Okay, love him, I think he's hilarious.

SPEAKER_00

All right, we're not political, we don't do politics, but Jim Jeffries did a skit when Donald Trump was running for his first presidency. It was in 2015, and he's he's on his stage and he's like, part of me is like, fuck it, let's do it. Let's see how crazy shit gets. You could just YouTube, Jim Jeffries, Donald Trump. It's great. He gets down on a knee and he's like, let's see how crazy shit can get. And I was like, that's fascinating. That's a great way of looking at it. Fuck it. Let's see how crazy shit can get. If we did that in gambling, where we just took the point spread out of it and just added it to the to the let's just see what could happen.

SPEAKER_01

Let's just see how crazy it gets. Not for nothing. Gamblers have been running a lot of shit. Like, even in the 90s when we were like taboo, right? Our business is taboo. People don't realize how much gambling. Like, we used to estimate, you know, oh, uh in like the early uh mid-90s, it's a billion-dollar business. I'm like, bullshit. Yeah, yeah, right. It's like a five billion dollar business. Now they're saying legally, yeah, it's like 40 billion to 18 billion. Can you imagine the real numbers on what's going on on everything in sports when it comes to gambling? Don't tell me that it hasn't had a huge impact.

SPEAKER_00

Huge impact. Huge impact. How about so you have all of these, you have these teams like Alabama, they're notorious for it. They end up, I don't know why they do this every year. It's like even before they play Auburn or LSU or whatever, they end up playing Furman or Chattanooga, and they're minus 48 in the game. You might not take that game if you start it down 48-0.

SPEAKER_01

Can you imagine starting down 48-0? Can you imagine? And hey, can you imagine? I mean, seriously, think about that. Now it's not about just beating a team. Right. You got to be careful when you choose. Right. In fact, you're looking for better matchups. 100%. Right? You're looking for teams that are very, they're gonna schedule more Georges, more, you know, more Florida matchups, games that are gonna be like that two, three, four, five point. And you know what this gets rid of? I mean that I I kind of like that. Well, it's a crazy idea. Right, that never millions.

SPEAKER_00

It's a crazy idea. But you know what it gets rid of? The backdoor cover fucking that makes people. I I'm just I'm not gonna name any names. What happened to flat numbers? But hold on. Just let people throw TVs off walls. Not gonna name any names when the backdoor happens. Or why he threw three televisions off the wall in a season? We're not gonna talk about all Christmas and now has to watch TV through a window. Refuses I refuse to put a TV in my office. Yeah, you can't. I put a picture of my grandmother up. No, you can't have a TV. What's the uh Seinfeld? Serenity Now. Just look at my grandmother.

SPEAKER_01

Give me peace. Serenity now. Give me peace, man. Oh, God. I mean, and you really it was really basketball. It wasn't even football. Maybe one got lost in football.

SPEAKER_00

Two got lost in football. Did they? Texas, Vanderbilt, Arizona, Tennessee. Arizona, Tennessee, and the NFL, when Dumb Fuck dropped the ball running against North Carolina when we were.

SPEAKER_01

North Carolina, Syracuse.

SPEAKER_00

That was the third time a TV went. Minus 11 and a half, and they're up by 35. And then when Syracuse covers the game, like with a with 30 seconds left, they're going, no, no foul. No foul.

SPEAKER_01

It's unbelievable. Talk about rig jobs.

SPEAKER_00

So Chris Haji has come up with two ideas. One, NFL goes one through 14. We we keep the eight divisions, we get rid of the conferences, we go one through 14 in the playoffs. I could be talking to that. Okay. We can go around that. By the way, I think the NBA should do it. I think the NHL should do it.

SPEAKER_01

No, your idea in the NBA was one of the greatest ideas you've ever had.

SPEAKER_00

Which was I come up with so many good ideas, I don't even remember them. Please.

SPEAKER_01

You finally had one and you don't remember it. For them to stop the tanking.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes. I do that in the NFL as well.

SPEAKER_01

I I that's where I thought you were going with that originally.

SPEAKER_00

No, we already talked about that. But for all who are new to the podcast, my idea to stop tanking was you take the team that missed the playoffs, the closest team that missed the playoffs, and you give them the most ping-pong balls. No doubt. Or the team that finished 15th in the NFL, now they have the number one pick. I love it. Right.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. Now it does suck for the team that, you know, like like the Dolphins last year. I mean, Cleveland Browns, they're not going to get better unless they go spend money and I'm so happy you brought that up, this not get better argument.

SPEAKER_00

When have the Browns ever been good? When have the Jets, the Jets drafting a top five every friggin' year and never all good.

SPEAKER_01

The last guy to bring them to a championship game is it just tried stabbing somebody.

SPEAKER_00

So here's my here's my reasoning behind this, right? It's a phenomenal idea. Well, the reasoning is, and a lot of people, by the way, I'm always very honest whether when I come up with an idea like, you know, shoot the dog, shoot your best friend versus shoot the dog. I I won that argument. No, you didn't. Yes, I did. The more people that emailed him were saying they would shoot their best friends.

SPEAKER_01

The psychos are the ones that that that troll. They were all over it. They're like, yeah, yeah, kill the humans. No, you're out of your fucking mind.

SPEAKER_00

With this one, right? I know I'm right. Where I came with you weren't right with that one, but we'll with this one, it was there was a Giants, there was a New York Giants Las Vegas Raiders game this year. Now you're in bed with the sports books. I said this numerous times. You're you're you're you have to be a good one.

SPEAKER_01

I remember the game.

SPEAKER_00

And you had fan bases wanting to lose that game because it improved draft position, and the Raiders ended up losing the game, and the Raiders get the number one draft pick, right? So if you're gonna be in bed with the sports books, right, you cannot have any. Ankling of integrity being ruined. And needing to lose. Correct. So now, if you're going to improve your draft position based on where you are, right? You know you're going to try to win. So for all the fucking idiots out there that didn't like that idea, and there was a lot of you, okay? That is why that idea was born into existence. It's a great idea.

SPEAKER_01

It really is. I don't give you any credit for any of your knucklehead ideas most of the time. Ralph Cramden. Uh, but no, that was a good one. Yeah, I like that one. Because it really does, even to the very end, even the Raiders and the Giants are going to play each other harder to get a better draft. So you win, you get rewarded. Correct.

SPEAKER_00

When do I now I noticed when you get rewarded for losing? Well, it's the United States of America. Right. So somewhere along the line. Is that when the participation trophies came in? I I bro. So you were how old are you again?

SPEAKER_01

Uh 51.

SPEAKER_00

So you're four years older than me. So this happened in our lifetime. This happened in our lifetime. I remember it. I I don't remember when it actually happened. But I know this in the mid-90s to late 90s when I was in high school and college, there was no participation trophies. I was I got called. If I there was a particular play where I catch a ball and I'm not trying to get hit again. So I went down. This was a bad play. This was a pussy play. It was. You watch this on video, it was a bad play. I could have got the first down if I like put my shoulder down and barrel through someone, but instead I kind of just lost track of where the yard marker was, and I just went down, right? A yard short. And this was in the day where you punted on fourth and one. Man, my coaches called me every fucking name that you can call a human being. Now they'd get fired. Yo, I got caught up. I bet you didn't go down again? No, not once. Out of fear. I bet you thought about it. As you were going, you're like, oh my God, barrel. I have PTSD from that. That the the friggin' when they when they played it on the um when they were watching film and they showed, they were just here he is going down again, here he is going down again. And this is now this was 30 years ago. And I still remember the ass ripping that I got. But you know what? They were right. Of course they were.

SPEAKER_01

I did a pussy thing, and that's how you get in somebody's head and make them better. Correct.

SPEAKER_00

So when the hell did this shit start? In the late 90s. No, I was I was in this in the late 90s. I I disagree. I was going to start in the late 90s.

SPEAKER_01

Because I I don't know about you, but when I was growing up, field day was a big deal, right? Back in elementary school when you were younger. There was no everybody wins. It was first place, second place, third place, everyone else sucks. Correct. Okay. So whatever event you were in, you were trying to get that ribbon. If you didn't come home with a first place ribbon, I don't know about your dad. My dad would be like, what are you? Yeah, it's a waste of time. Are you serious? You don't get one, not one? So I mean, I always came home with at least one or two first place ribbons. Had to. Now, fast forward, 1997, I had my first kid. So she was in field day by okay, so the early 2000s. There was no more ribbons. It all became water games and shooting. Yeah, like water guns and getting wet. I'm like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. Where's the competition? Now it's coming back. It's coming back right now. I don't think it's coming back. The last couple of field days that I went to, now it's done because my my kids are getting older and I just went to my last field day, but they started giving out ribbons again. They started having tug of war again. They started having like I I think they recognize that we've created 25 years of fucking pussies in this country. And there's one or multiple ways to get it back, but coming how do you how do you reprimand your children these days without getting locked up? Oh no, and I don't think the cops can show up at my door. I did it. Everything is on everyone's side other than the right, the people that are right, right? And it's because of a bad couple apples, a couple of guys beat the fuck out of their kids so bad that they had to take that right away from parents. Yeah. But I don't know about you. What kept me safe or kept me from going to jail as a kid was the fear of my dad beating the shit out of my dad was a serious, you know, veteran. Three tours in Nam. I got taken home by the cops once. I begged them, please take me to jail. Please. They're like, no, we're taking you home. Don't take me home. Please don't take me home. It's better to go to jail. It was something stupid. I was shooting out streetlights with a it looked like a real gun. It was a CO2 gun. I'm shooting out streetlights and I got put at that was the first time I got put at gunpoint by police officers. They're like, no, we're taking you home. I'm begging you, Dad. And the man, he didn't put a not one finger on me, he ignored me for two days. It was even worse than getting a beaten. He just looked at me and goes, I am so disappointed in you. See, I would have liked that. And he looked at the cops and he looked at the cops and said, Don't worry, I'll take care of this. They're like, Thank you very much.

SPEAKER_00

That's how it went.

SPEAKER_01

Holy shit.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, I kicked the shit out of my first two kids. My younger guy figured it out. He didn't want to get into a fight with me. I gotta be careful with my middle guy now. Now he's a trained killer. So I really I gotta listen, he's 22, so I'm probably not gonna get into a fight with him now. And I would lose that fight. And if I didn't lose that fight, he'd probably shoot me. I just had to look at my 14-year-old the other day.

SPEAKER_01

Because he said something, I put the tiniest little smack on him. He goes, Is that as hard as you can hit? Yeah. Oh my god. I'm like, Do you understand how much I'm I'm holding back because if I hit you, I'm knocking you the fuck out. And now he thinks that he can take me.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's not good. Hilarious. Hilarious. I told you, I said this on the podcast, I believe, a few weeks ago. So I had three boys. If I took the time to get up, someone was getting it. Whoever I caught first was getting it.

SPEAKER_01

You don't have my wife.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, my wife, they hate that shit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they hate it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they don't like that shit.

SPEAKER_01

How about they sick you on them? They're like, take care of that. And you go to take care of it. You're like, no, don't take care of it that way. Like, what do you what do you expect? You just allowed a pit bull out of the cage, and now you're gonna tell them to act like a lasso hopsa?

SPEAKER_00

But we go back to sports, right? Like back when I was growing up, my mom and dad always took the coach's side. Always. Rightfully so. Always. Now it's like, no, my baby's not playing. You're bad. Now, and you're you're you're donating to the biggest.

SPEAKER_01

It really did. Like the parents, even back when I was growing up, I don't remember. My father was the commissioner of the league that I was in, and he used to have to deal with all the parents. How come my son's not playing?

SPEAKER_00

Right now, the parents are worse. The parents are the worst they've ever been. Especially in hockey or the money sports. They got to pay to get their little boys to play. If they don't pay, then mom suck the guy's dick to get their guy to play. The producer's kids play. His kids play hockey. Better watch your wife, bro. Um, you never know. Jesus, what if his kid starts getting on? If his kid starts getting extra freaking players, he's a Tom Stringer, but he's a center now. You better know. If the dads don't pay, the mom suck the coaches off. That's how hockey works. You got me sweating. It's great. Um, you got a free pick in football. I do. Now, I wanna now again, we say this a lot. We do not talk much about what we're going to say on this show because we want the the ideas and everything to seem genuine. I have an idea of why this man is picking what he's picking. And I'm telling you. No, it's not bullshit. I'm telling you it's due to hatred. Now, I'm gonna preempt this. He's a Steelers fan. Give your pick.

SPEAKER_01

As a Steelers. Give your pick. I do not have a biased opinion during the football season.

SPEAKER_00

Ass. Bullshit. None of you Steeler fans are capable of it, and I'm and none of you. I'm not a homer. You are when it comes to this team. Give your pick. Yeah. America, you decide. World, you decide.

SPEAKER_01

I went through all of them. I'm looking at all of them, and I was I looked at the bottom numbers. I looked. There's a team that has an over-under of 11 and a half. Okay, get the fuck out of here with 11 and 10. Here comes the hatred. Listen, it's not hatred. They're in a tough division. They got to play Cincinnati twice. They got to play Pittsburgh twice. They'll beat the Browns twice. The Baltimore Ravens do not belong at 11.5. Now, I'm even going to go a step further because at 11 and a half, it's minus 140 plus 110 on the other side. Take it down to 10.5 and get them at plus 130, 120. All right. They're not winning. They might win 10 games. I'll give them that. They're going to go 10 and 7 somewhere around.

SPEAKER_00

Hand on the Celsius. It's not due to hatred. I don't have a Bible here. It's not due to hatred.

SPEAKER_01

It is not due to hatred. It is because they are not. Listen, if Burrow was going to come into this season injured and not play, not start, I might say, all right, well, that's two wins. That's another. But they are in a really fucking tough division, period. I can't say they're going to sweep the Steelers. They'll probably go one-on-one. They should go two and oh against Pittsburgh, but they'll probably go one and one. And they're definitely going one-on-one against Cincinnati if they're healthy. They might lose both those games. And we saw how they've started off multiple seasons now, where they fall behind and then they got to play big at the end of the season. So if they go two and three to start the year like they have in years past, how'd they get into 11 and a half, bro? Come on.

SPEAKER_00

So they got to get to 12. They got to go 12 and 5. I'm throwing you a little grief. It's a good set. Because listen, I will have this argument with anyone, by the way, I have no dog in the fight. I have no dog in this race, right? Like I both teams are. I cannot care less about both of these teams, right? But the most heated, hated, greatest rivalry right now in football. It's been this way for years and years is Pittsburgh, Baltimore. There is not a bigger, more hated rivalry than.

SPEAKER_01

It used to be Green Bay, Chicago.

SPEAKER_00

Dallas Philly is up there. Dallas Philly's up there. You know, I don't know. Giants, Philly. Giants whole division, but it's not because the Giants have sucked for so long. Pittsburgh, Baltimore, man. Hatred. Hatred. So that's why when a Pittsburgh fan says the Ravens aren't going to win 11, 12 games.

SPEAKER_01

That is a true sports handicapping opinion without bias. Now, if I would have gone under in the Browns, would it have still been a biased opinion? No, the Browns are terrible. But it's still the same division.

SPEAKER_00

And by the way, that was the pick we gave out. That was the future we gave out last year. Last year, that was a winner. Yeah. And I gave out mine under. I don't know how the fuck Miami gets to five or six.

SPEAKER_01

What was the win when you gave it out? Wasn't it three or two?

SPEAKER_00

No, five and a half. Five and a half.

SPEAKER_01

It's at four and a half now.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you're talking about Miami? Yes. Oh no, Miami, it might have been four and a half. They're not getting a five.

SPEAKER_01

I think it was three and a half when you gave out. They're not getting a five. The under. There's no way Miami gets to get up to four and a half.

SPEAKER_00

I don't give, I don't care. There's not. I'll tell you, you would make it.

SPEAKER_01

Four and a half and under is a lock.

SPEAKER_00

Arizona was three and a half?

SPEAKER_01

Three and a half.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, you can't go four and thirteen?

SPEAKER_01

Fucking three and a half.

SPEAKER_00

Listen, I want to bring it back to the Ravens, though, because something ridiculous came out. Okay? And again, no dog in the race, no dog in the fight.

SPEAKER_01

Even I said this is absurd.

SPEAKER_00

I know where you're going. Lamar Jackson? I mean, come on. Number 69? 69.

SPEAKER_01

Who is watching? Did they just want to put a chip on his shoulder to start the year?

SPEAKER_00

Who's watching? Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_01

Two-time MVP. He's number 69. He's he then this is. And we would talk about it. Top five, maybe top ten for sure, quarterback in the NFL. Two-time M MVP. The guy's numbers are off the charts. He can get out of trouble.

SPEAKER_00

You and I have a disagreement over where he is. All right. I put I put Mahomes, Allen. Okay. They're definitely in front of him. Okay. Those are the only two. 100%. Okay. You like Burroughs more than you like Lamar Jackson. I like Lamar Jackson more than I like Burroughs. I know Burroughs went to a Super Bowl, but I Lamar Jackson is a two-time MVP.

SPEAKER_01

I feel like he's a better general on the field. He can also pocket pass better. He's not looking to run within two seconds of having the ball.

SPEAKER_00

Lamar Jackson wins. He might not win the big playoff game, and a lot of them don't. Because, oh, Chris, he doesn't win the big game. A lot of quarterbacks don't. One of the greatest quarterbacks of all time didn't win the big game. Okay, and only got the one of them. This is out, Dan. Dan Marino. We all agree is one of the best quarterbacks. So don't sit here and tell me, oh, he didn't win the big game. Because everyone loves Dan Marino.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but the big difference there was Dan truly didn't. And thank God my brother's not watching this, but he didn't have any talent.

SPEAKER_00

He didn't have Mark Duper, Mark Mark. He had some players. He never wanted to.

SPEAKER_01

Mark Duper and Mark Clayton on any other team, or not Mark Duper and Mark Clayton.

SPEAKER_00

Without Dan Marino.

SPEAKER_01

He had Dan Marino.

SPEAKER_00

But Lamar Jackson to me, you know, I know ESPN had come out with this top 10 list, and um somebody like Drake May. Drake May is a top 10 quarterback? What? What? Um, you know who else I put in front of Lamar Jackson? Matthew Stafford. I was gonna say how Matthew Stafford. Matthew Stafford, so there's three. Um you would go with Burroughs, you'd four. I would put Lamar Jackson ahead. Is there anyone else? Is there another not Dak, um, not Jalen Hurts, forget Minnesota? They don't even have a quarterback right now. They got Kyler Murray there, and then uh who's the other guy?

SPEAKER_01

McCarthy, you gotta take Aaron Rodgers out. He's too old.

SPEAKER_00

Aaron Rodgers too old, but Aaron Rodgers in his prime, yes, better than Lamar Jackson, 100%. Jared Goff, I'd rather have Lamar Jackson. Um really to her. I'd rather have Lamar Jackson, no questions asked. No questions asked. Anyone employed by the Cleveland Browns or the New York Jets, anyone, any quarterback in Lamar Jackson. Um Justin Herbert, no. I I and I do think Justin Herbert's a good quarterback. I do not think he's better than Lamar Jackson. So me.

SPEAKER_01

So so if you were building a team right now, would you rather have Justin Herbert or Lamar Jackson?

SPEAKER_00

Lamar Jackson without question. Oh, you're talking right now? Right now. All right, well, Lamar Jackson's getting a little older, right? But in career for career, up to this point, I would take Lamar Jackson. Um I Lamar. More opportunity, more weapons. But how are you gonna be number five as a quarterback? The most important position in the world, and then number 69. So you mean to tell me there's fucking so right off the bat, you know there's not better quarterbacks.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

Running backs are a dumbass.

SPEAKER_01

How many wide receivers are they putting in there? Right. How many wide receivers? Unless you're telling me that linemen are on that. I mean I mean, how many could there be? I don't know. So there's 64. I gotta see the whole list. I don't give a word that he was 69. I want to see all the names they put ahead of him.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm a Lamar Jackson hater.

SPEAKER_00

You can number Jesus Christ could be on that list, and I'd be like, huh. What the fuck? Hey, Lamar, I'm a fan, bro.

SPEAKER_01

Bro, if you told me he was number 24 on a list of 25, I'd be like, really? Yeah, crazy. That's insane. I'm a fan of Lamar Jackson. I I fucking hate the guy, but he's still a top 10 player in the league.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, you look at these AFC quarterbacks right now, you know, you Mahomes was like the Jordan. Mahomes is Mahomes. You could unfortunately Josh Allen just loses. And another guy. Josh Allen, we got number two.

SPEAKER_01

What is the deal with Buffalo? Is it really the Jinx? Is it really a God hates them?

SPEAKER_00

I said that. God hates them. I did a whole thing on that. You know something? When I did the video entitled Buffalo, the Mafia, who I've had a love hate. No, no, they did not. They attacked me when I went against them. I think it was a couple years ago when Pittsburgh played them in the playoffs. We had used Pittsburgh in that game. That was when the kid missed the field goal to the right. Yes. Okay. I went on Buffalo Radio the Friday before that game, and they asked me for a free pick on that game, and I gave out Pittsburgh. You would think I murdered kids. The way the emails came in, as fast as they did. You think I murdered kids? It was it was crazy. And you think I murdered kids for sport. Like I put them on TV and shot them and just picked them off one at a time. I was getting annihilated. If I ever see you, I'm gonna fucking kill you. Fuck your wife. Oh, it was brutal. Right? Oh, yeah. So I do this video truly expecting to get killed. I said, God just hate you guys. This was after they lost the bad guys. They're like, you're right. And they were like, yo, it might be something to it. It might be the mafia actually, they actually took my side with that.

SPEAKER_01

If the Red Sox were able to get rid of their curse and the Cubs, and I mean, you're telling me that there's really that big of a curse on Buffalo.

SPEAKER_00

It might be. You live with nine feet of snow basically nine months a year. God might hate them. Uh so your your free pick was under? Under. All right.

SPEAKER_01

11 and a half. Buy it down at 10 and a half and get a better number.

SPEAKER_00

I'm gonna give a free pick on the uh World Cup for this weekend. France plays England in a third place game. Really tough situation for England off a very emotional loss, um, very short rest. Okay. I think France beats them. France is like minus 115, 90 minutes. All right, so I'm gonna go with that. You doing the 90 minutes or this one, yes. Uh England and France. I think France beats them in 90 minutes, which I believe is minus 115.

SPEAKER_01

What is it to win the game and take third, advanced for third?

SPEAKER_00

Uh, they're probably much higher. I didn't even look at it. But 90 minutes. But here's what I will do. If you all remember the last World Cup final, it was an epic game. Argentina, France, 3-3, goes to penalty kicks. I think we're in for another epic, epic World Cup final. Spain's defense is insane. Insane. They've given up one goal. One. Argentina, I don't give. You could cry all you want. Cry me a river, Argentina, is that the name? You can cry all you want, okay? They're there. However, they got them. They don't belong there. Go ahead. Oh my God. I think it, I think it's going to go to penalty take.

SPEAKER_01

The easiest pathway there, they had all the refs in play. They probably had those refs called that three months in advance as to who was going to be ref in those games. No, it's not. Listen, Leno Messi is what? Arguably the greatest of all time. Yeah, yeah. Yes, he is. Arguably, not right now. He's 39. He's still amazing. Okay. But he's the best player right now. He's the best player right now. Can we bring up from a couple weeks when we said Mbappe is the best player in the world?

SPEAKER_00

I might have said that a couple years ago. Yeah, the video, the internet, the shit don't die in the internet.

SPEAKER_01

I might have said that.

SPEAKER_00

But right now, Mbappe's gone. He's only playing the third place game. So right now, Messi's the best. But I think it's going to be a draw after 90 minutes. You get some good plus value with that. I truly think it's going to penalty kicks. I truly believe that. I think this is going to be an epic world.

SPEAKER_01

Well, that would mean that would mean that Spain's not going to score. Because listen, that that Spain defense is downright fucking suffocating. Well, you look at Argentina. They talk about the goaltenders only allowed one goal. That defense has not allowed shots on the screen. It's crazy. It's insane.

SPEAKER_00

You look at Argentina, they scored late against Japan, I want to say. They scored late against England. This team has been shut out in like the 85-minute mark for numerous games. And then they just do Argentina type things.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but we both said that France was the best team in this, in you know, in the tournament, right? And they really were. And now Spain, I don't know, man. They just look straight.

SPEAKER_00

We gave out two picks to win the game.

SPEAKER_01

I do like your idea of it going to goal penalty kicks, though.

SPEAKER_00

We gave out France, we gave out Spain to win. Um they played each other, so we guaranteed to get one to the final. Um, Spain is good value, but I think it's gonna go to penalty kicks, and I think Spain's gonna win the game. I do think Spain.

SPEAKER_01

The refs are gonna be betting the shit out of Argentina.

SPEAKER_00

The frigging refs.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, come on, bro, seriously. You're telling me that FIFA has no reference.

SPEAKER_00

There is no one that hates referees on earth more than me. I don't buy it.

SPEAKER_01

Come on. Come on, bro. You don't buy it. Guy hates referees more than anybody, not buying that they're in for an This is probably his last world.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, look at this. The producer put me with my dogs. You gotta put that on. We'll put that on, Bella and Sadie. Let me see. Bella and Sadie got. Was it just a bunch of Bellas and Sadies? No, there's two of them. There you go.

SPEAKER_01

They're playing Black Jack.

SPEAKER_00

Don't you see the start of the video right now, playing blackjack with me. Black Bella there, though. She makes sure I win. Uh, hope you guys enjoyed the podcast. We'll be back next week. In August, we start having uh some celebrities come back on.
