Hey guys, this is your host, Kayla. And you know what? I don't know why I always say like hi, I'm Kayla, because who else would it be? And maybe one day we'll have a guest host. So I guess it's best that I introduce myself. But also if you don't know me, right? If you've never listened to an episode and this is your first episode, that's also why I'm doing it. Because my name is Kayla Worthy, and I am the host. I am the creator of the Feel Worthy podcast. And I'm a CMP. I'm in corporate events. I'm an event coach. So yeah, you know what? I'm introducing myself because you may not know me. And this may be the first episode you listen to. It could also be your 26th. So again, I'm Kayla. It's nice that you're here. I do these like occasional pep talk episodes because I get inspired by a topic and I'm like, ah, I needed to hear that. I felt that I needed to share this with other people. And I hope it resonates. I hope it finds you exactly where you need it to so that you have some motivation. You have some like F yeah energy going into your week or going into whatever part of the day that you're in. So this episode is all about this idea of have you ever had that feeling that you were made for more? Not in my life isn't good enough or way, or I need more because I'm being greedy, like nothing like that, but just this quiet, persistent, deep down way where something inside of you just keeps whispering, there's more for me than this. There's more to life than this. If you've ever seen The Little Mermaid, that is sometimes what I think of when I hear this phrase come up for me. And it could be more impact, more freedom, leadership, confidence, more money, more room to breathe, or more space to become the version of you that you just keep imagining. You get this longing of the person that you're meant to be. She's on a boat, she is strutting into the boardroom. Maybe she is just playing peacefully with her kids and having so much fun, or she's conquering an event that she has always had on her mind, and it is her dream event to plan. The question I really want to ask you is if you know you want more, and any of what I just said resonated with you, why are you standing still? And I say that with so much love and compassion because I know we all go through different things in our lives, but why are you standing still? Sometimes we say, I'm waiting for the right time. It's not right now. I need the flexibility, I need whatever the season is. And maybe that's true. And sometimes we convince ourselves that being still is being responsible, is okay. But if you're listening to it this far, maybe it's not okay. Maybe you're just like, I don't want to wreck the boat. I'm not ready yet. Like, not yet. Soon, but not yet. But what we call patience or what we call waiting for the right time is actually fear. Sometimes what we call being realistic is playing small. And listen, I get it. I get it. But I made a promise to myself at the end of April that I was going to stop playing small. Moving forward can feel scary. But also, my word of the year is forward. I don't know what your word of the year is. If you have one, I challenge you to think about it again. What is it? It can feel risky to admit that you want more, especially when other people already think you should be satisfied. Maybe your mother-in-law or your dad is saying, You're good. You're good. Why? Why even chew for more? You have everything you could have ever dreamed of. What else is left? But you have this gnawing feeling that you're like, no, there's there's more to life than this. You have the job, the title, the experience, the responsibilities. You have the life that maybe at one point you prayed for. But there's something in you that says, this is not the final version of my story. I'm only so many chapters in. There's more that I could be doing. And it doesn't make you selfish. It makes you honest. Wanting more does not mean you're ungrateful for what you have. It means you're paying attention to what is still freaking possible. So let me remind you today: you are not a tree. You are not planted in one place forever. You are allowed to move, to change, to grow, to pivot. And I know event pros, we hate that word, but you are allowed to pivot in your own life. Maybe being in consumer events is no longer the plan for you. Maybe you really want to do weddings. I know after we all saw Taylor Swift's get married, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelsty get married. Maybe we want to all be wedding planners. I don't know. But you're allowed to raise your hand, apply for the role, change positions, change direction, start the business. Speak up in the meeting that you have been dying to say something in. You are allowed to ask for the money that you deserve, ask for the raise, or find it somewhere else. You are allowed to leave the room that can no longer hold you. You are allowed to be the version of yourself that you keep seeing in your mind. But at some point, you have to stop asking, am I capable of more? Is now the right time? Because capability is not the problem. You have figured out hard things before. You've led through the chaos. You have solved problems with no clear answer. You have held events, teams, clients, executives, families, deadlines, airlines, and expectations together when nobody saw the full weight of what you were carrying. So no, I don't think you're incapable. I think you may be underestimating yourself. I think you may be waiting for permission. I think you may be hoping someone else sees it in you first or makes the decision for you first. You may be standing still because moving forward would require you to trust yourself before there is proof for you to make the decision. Not to wait for someone else to say, go ahead. It is up to you. And that is the real work. It is freaking scary. You don't have to keep proving yourself though. You don't have to keep proving that you're worthy after the business makes money. You don't have to keep saying you're worthy after someone chooses you. You're worthy right now. You have to just believe that you are worthy enough to take the step now. It doesn't have to be all of the steps, it just has to be one decision forward. You have to do it before the applause, the validation, the perfect plan. So with all of that being said, what is the one step you're gonna move? What is the one step you're gonna take to go forward? Maybe it's setting the message, updating the resume, writing and publishing the post on LinkedIn. Ask the question. You know what? Tell the world that you are open for business and that you are accepting discovery calls for new clients. Make the decision and do the thing that reminds your body and brain: I am not stuck here. I can move. You're not stuck. You might be scared, you may be tired, you may be unsure and not sure of what comes around the corner, right? I think that's why sometimes we don't make the move. We're like, oh, maybe we don't know what's on the other side. Maybe the grass isn't greener, but maybe it is. Maybe it is. Maybe the grass is luscious and growing in new flowers and filled with abundance that you're missing out on because you're not willing to take the chance. You are capable of so much more. And deep down, I think, I think you know that and believe that. So this week, don't ask yourself to overhaul your whole life, right? You don't have to throw every single thing out. Just make one move. Ask yourself, what is one move I can make that proves I believe there's more available to me? And then make it. You are not a tree. You were made to grow. Okay, I leave you with that. And I leave you with that. I hope you feel worthy today and every day. Bye, guys.
