Begin Anywhere: Less Script, More Presence
Begin Anywhere: Less Script, More Presence is a podcast about showing up as you are—without waiting for the “perfect moment.”
I’m Irina Pashina—coach, mentor, supervisor, facilitator, and speaker—inviting you into conversations and reflections that are recorded in one take, imperfect by design, and rooted in presence.
Each episode explores themes of authenticity, courage, leadership, transitions, and human connection, offering space to pause and notice what is unfolding in your own life.
This podcast isn’t about scripts or polish—it’s about what becomes possible when we trust ourselves and begin anywhere.
🎧 Join me to reflect, connect, and take the next intentional step on your own path.

Episode 27: Doors Open, Doors Shut

An episode that came to me through reflection on recent life experiences. And the image of doors in life. Doors opening and closing. Knocking at doors, being invited to enter or a door that is simply locked and doesn't budge. So many variations of how opportunities arise, how we go about them, how they materialize or not.
It's also an episode about feeling our human feelings and being on our own side in the process of experiencing life.
So much in less than 10 minutes. I hope you find a spark for your reflection in there.

Hello and welcome. Welcome to Begin Anywhere. My name is Irina Pashina. And I'm here to hold space. To hold space for all of us where we can begin anywhere. With less script and more presence. Thank you for joining me. Hello and welcome to episode 27 of Begin Anywhere. I'm recording on a hot, hot, not even summer yet day in Germany. It's been extreme. June has uh offered everything from torrential rain to scorching heat and almost nothing in between. I feel tired and excited at the same time. I feel thrown to wishing for more sun and warmth, and then wishing for more cold and rain. It feels like there is a fiery energy in the air. And this is where I'm at today. We have crossed the middle of June, and it's been an expansive month. Expansive in terms of learning, expansive in terms of meeting new people, expansive as um growing into trying out new things of expression and even art. And there were contractions as well of trying something and realizing it wasn't right, or knocking at doors that didn't open. And sometimes doors open readily without us even knocking, or one single knock is sufficient, and then we're in, we can enter, we can walk through, and sometimes we keep knocking and knocking and knocking, and a door doesn't open, and these experiences of doors not opening can be such a frustrating and challenging experience, and in hindsight, there are such compelling invitations to redirect, to be with what is to imagine, and potentially to create something that is more aligned and more life for our life in our life and on our path. Yeah, I feel a little bit heavy speaking about that because I just experienced a door not opening, and I'm in reflection of what it means. Where is it pointing me to? And I am also realizing today how much more and deeper I can be with myself through this process. The process of experiencing life, and I use doors here as a metaphor, as a door to how life unfolds and how we can meet it with acceptance, openness, with resistance perhaps even stubbornness, and all of it is okay. All of it is valid for one reason or for many reasons, and noticing how much easier it can be to keep my heart open and to be with the herd and also to let it go. Letting go can be such a challenge, certainly for me. And today I'm finding myself opening up my hands and letting this experience go through me and flow out of me Yeah, I'm curious what is coming up for you as you listen to what I've been sharing What doors are opening for you now? And what doors aren't? And what doors continue to be open and what doors are starting to close I find these questions an incredibly compelling invitation to reflect on how our lives are changing over time. I hope today's episode has been interesting and useful in some way. I trust it has been, and I'm wishing you well. I'm wishing you warmth and sending you very best regards on your path with whatever doors open and close right now.
