Begin Anywhere: Less Script, More Presence
Begin Anywhere: Less Script, More Presence is a podcast about showing up as you are—without waiting for the “perfect moment.”
I’m Irina Pashina—coach, mentor, supervisor, facilitator, and speaker—inviting you into conversations and reflections that are recorded in one take, imperfect by design, and rooted in presence.
Each episode explores themes of authenticity, courage, leadership, transitions, and human connection, offering space to pause and notice what is unfolding in your own life.
This podcast isn’t about scripts or polish—it’s about what becomes possible when we trust ourselves and begin anywhere.
🎧 Join me to reflect, connect, and take the next intentional step on your own path.

Episode 31: Emotions... oh Emotions

I’ve been sitting with more emotions than usual in the last days and weeks. And noticing that the theme of close connections and how they shape our becoming has been present for me and many of my supervision and coaching clients in a parallel process. I’m bringing emotions to this episode. Not to lecture about them. Not to convey a message about them. But simply to shine a light on them as a landmark of humanity with the hope and wish for more acceptance.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of reflection and connection.
Hello and welcome. Welcome to Begin Anywhere. My name is Irina Pasina. And I'm here to hold space. To hold space for all of us where we can begin anywhere. With less script and more presence. Thank you for joining me. Hello and welcome to episode 31 of Begin Anywhere. And today is July 16th, 2026, and I'm choosing to begin anywhere again. It's been an emotional time, and I am aware how generic this statement can come across as an yeah, it's been a time of awareness around emotions. So this episode needs to be about emotions, and I'm saying need because I feel this is a truth that wants to emerge and come through me, and here with my voice. What they can mirror. A journey retrograding back into themes around family, upbringing, close connections, matters of the heart. I'm noticing this in my life, and I've been noticing this in my practice as well, in my supervision, in my coaching, there is something around the themes of glancing back at who and what shaped us, and perhaps becoming aware of deeper layers of our becoming. And the reason I'm bringing this very what feels intimate, very intimate topic, theme, thread is because I realize again and again how much resistance there is around it. I notice this in myself and I notice this in others, and I also have learned to appreciate the intelligence of the resistance. The intelligence of it not allowing a deeper presence to a certain emotion. And also the moment, appreciating the moment when there is an expansion of our capacity to meet ourselves, to meet our emotions, and to let them go. I have felt this very deeply in the last few weeks and in the last days, even more so, and I couldn't fully tell rationally where it came from, and there were many, many mirrors, and a mirror came in this morning as well in a shocking news about someone I have known for a long time, and it made me aware how fragile, how resilient, how human we are, and how much being human means being with emotions. That emotions in many ways are signals of humanity. And in my very recent experience, now in the last days and weeks, it felt truly liberating to be able to sit with deep sadness, deep joy, and to let them flow. In the depth of certain emotions, and when I do and when the emotion is allowed to go, there is so much more space. There is so much more space for life. What I have noticed as well is that trapping and holding on to emotions is difficult. It takes so much strength. And yet I do it again and again. Not because I don't know rationally, but because there are mechanisms within that want to protect. A system of so many parts and so many connections, interconnections, and moving in a certain way, or being stuck in a certain way, and now I found that like the emotional flow that goes through me when free or when not trapped, it's a source of aliveness. It's a source of alignment, it's a source of living life. I don't know that I have a very deep or important or wise message. I'm just here to share today, and I am just here to say that it's okay. It's okay to be and sit with emotions, it's okay to not. And there is a certain part of me that really wants to stand for acceptance, acceptance of where we are at and the ability to meet our system, our own system, ourselves with acceptance. And it's one of the things that sounds so simple and can be a process of a lifetime. It's always this humbling and for me life-affirming mirror of the joy of being human. The joy of calling oneself a human being and the joy of meeting other human beings where they're at and co-creating together with everything that comes up. I hope this episode meets you or part of you where you're at. And I hope as you're going through this period in some parts of the world, hot, hot summer, in others, probably cold winter, as you go through some intensity in these mid months of 2026. I hope you can meet yourself with more acceptance. Thank you for listening, and I look forward to our next time.
