SPEAKER_01

Today we have with us somebody who doesn't demand attention, but yet somehow always has it. He's the kind of man who makes you believe that chivalry is in debt, the kind of actor who shines without eclipsing, the kind of person who would want to get to know beyond cinema. This is Atar Ramurli, unfiltered, unperformed, and unforgettable.

SPEAKER_02

Welcome to reasonable.

SPEAKER_04

Pleasure being here.

SPEAKER_02

We are so happy that you're here finally. And it's uh it's such a surprise that we haven't gotten down to talking earlier because we have people from each other's lives overlapping each other's lives. Like Kamyakavanda Ansha's uh really good friend. She's our first mom friend, I mean. First mom friend, and she's such a sweetheart. I also really am fond of her. Layana's Rudus, you know, really close, my good friend, and they still keep seeing each other at their birthday parties. Right. And Sneha and I used to be best friends in college, and we still did remain good friends. And in fact, I think the first friend Sneha introduced Akash to was me.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, yeah? Yeah. So this has been long due then. Yeah, long due.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm so uh surprised, but I'm glad that we finally got down to it. So, but today, like Hancha said, it's not gonna be just an actor interview, but today we really just want to unpack a tarva as a person, not as an actor.

SPEAKER_01

So it's just going to be you with two curiosity conversation and coffee and my and we really want to let your guard, you want you to let your guard down and think of it as like you're just having coffee with two of your friends. I hope we create that space for you and it doesn't feel so performative, but yes, this is no act answers at all today.

SPEAKER_05

No, my guard is already half down because you guys know my family and everything. So you guys are half family and my guard is half down. Yeah, thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Glad, glad. Yeah, because I feel you're one of the most well-mannered person from the industry I've seen. Like that is you're so grounded in any function, in any place, you're always the one to welcome everyone. I remember I have this clear memory in one of Lionar's party that happened in Estel, I think, fifth birthday or fourth birthday. I was fully pregnant with my second one, and after everybody left, we all went up to sit with Snear's dad. I think you you took Dara aside and all of that, but you were like, made you made sure I was comfortable, you got water. There is no air about you. So when there is no camera on, who is Atarva on an off day? Like, what is your day like on an off day? We want to know.

SPEAKER_05

I'm just someone who wakes up, likes being in my own bubble. Like I don't plan anything uh up ahead, right? So when we talk about days that I have work, yes, that is very planned and everything. But then off day, nothing is planned. Like I wake up with a cup of coffee, even if I'm sitting by around if I wake up by around, say, eight o'clock, from eight o'clock to twelve o'clock, I'll just be sipping that mug of coffee. Silly. Listening to jazz music or something with nothing playing, just jazz music or coffee uh shop. You get you get those videos on the where it just goes on for like three hours. So I'll just keep looking at that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's my idea. I'm a daydreamer in general.

SPEAKER_01

Uh daydreaming is another word for manifestation. I want that life for me. I want to wake up at 7 a.m. and I want to daydream because this is closely to what Rade does. Yeah. She'll open the window and she'll just sit there and look at the lawn and it'll be like, What are you doing? I've gotten this done, this done, this done. Said you're forced to do all those things, you know. It's a privilege to be this. This is the real luxury of life, right?

SPEAKER_05

No, but for some reason, right? See, people assume me to be a very, very night person, but I'm not. I hate uh way staying up late nights.

SPEAKER_01

Why are people assuming that?

SPEAKER_05

No, because I've heard many people tell me that, oh, we've heard that you like night shoots or staying up in the night. But I I'm generally a very morning person.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, nice.

SPEAKER_05

So I wake up in the morning, I'm full of energy in the morning. Oh that's how I am. That's how I.

SPEAKER_01

What did you do right before coming here?

SPEAKER_05

Wake up happy morning to myself, happy morning, and everything. Then yeah, that's how I am.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice. But there's this one thing that I wanted to ask you. Why is your Instagram handled Starboy?

SPEAKER_05

Uh, two reasons. The first reason being I really like that song, Starboy. So for some reason I feel like it's my song. Yeah, it resonates with me and everything. But uh, beyond that, I like uh looking at the stars. So there was a point of my there was a point where I got myself a telescope. I would sit on the terrace, like see all these stars and everything, and there's an app called Sky Guide. Sky Guide. Yeah, Sky Guide. Where I like seeing the star Oh Mars Ingerka, oh, Jupiter Ingerka, it's not Jupiter or sometimes Killer or Jupiter Killer. Yeah. So I like seeing the stars. So both these reasons.

SPEAKER_02

I know you're a star boy, and uh as grounded as you are. Not that people know so much about you because you do not, you know, put your life out there too much. But if you had to say, okay, this is one ordinary thing about me that people would be surprised to know, what would it be?

SPEAKER_05

Like, I'm very homebound. I'm not sure if many people know that. I'm very homebound. I like staying in my own uh uh like whatever my own comfort zone.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And I like entertaining people. Right. Uh so as much as I'm homebound, I like it when people are around.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I think I know this about you. You're very like with your own little clan of your tribe. You've got your own tight little clan. Yeah, that's something.

SPEAKER_02

Your family is your first gang. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

No, but even during COVID and everything, like all of us were together, but how often do all of us get this particular time to stay together, right?

SPEAKER_04

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh so, but then Nangle, we'll create our own little games. Uh I I remember we created this game called Fireball.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Okay.

SPEAKER_05

No one knows about this game. So it's in a volleyball court, right?

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh so and the paka or nala peer, in the paka or nalapir. So I have this habit of getting the best in my team.

SPEAKER_04

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_05

But then they won't give me. They'll be like, no, no, you're physically strong and everything. And they'll give me like my sister-in-law, my mom, and team.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that word a spado?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so it always used to be me against my brother, right? It got so aggressive. Okay, okay. Till now, no one understands what the rules are because every single time, because the rules were not very defined, right? Right. We always got into arguments.

SPEAKER_01

Fight. Fights, fights, fights.

SPEAKER_05

It used to go very aggressive.

SPEAKER_01

Are you the kind of sore loser type? Like if you lose it, you're like, I'm not playing it anymore type of person. No.

SPEAKER_05

Next to the Raripa client. I I hate losing, I can't do it.

SPEAKER_04

Fair enough. Fair enough.

SPEAKER_05

So all these fights, initially, it started off as like whatever, right? Uh fun and everything. But these fights were carried on till dinner the next morning, until we played the game. We wouldn't talk to each other. Yeah, yeah, yeah. It used to go like that.

SPEAKER_01

That that yeah, yeah, understandable.

SPEAKER_05

One month after everything happened, we stopped playing this game completely. We come with something else.

SPEAKER_01

But like normally it's like you against your brother. So, where does Kavya fit inside here? She'll like, you know, be the peacemaker. Because Kavaker is really, she was a sports captain or something in her school. She's quite aggressive.

SPEAKER_05

She's quite sporty in general.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

But Nangala rules money now. A B C Sonna, X, Y said Linda or something. So and there's no arguing with my sister, right?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That time me and my brother will become on the same.

SPEAKER_01

She's like a darling. She's like the way she talks about you, even now, this morning, uh, when I opened Instagram, the way she's like, you know, she's the number one cheerleader. And even when she talks about you, you know, when I thought up, okay, I need to sit down with you. Uh for me, whatever I know of you, I know a little bit of Akash and all of that from Rave. Rave always tells me he's such a gentleman. Uh now, but we have met and you've always lived up to that, okay. The gentleman Kaviar, also, you can tell, like, okay, you guys have all like, you know, been brought up in a certain way of togetherness and all of that. And I call Cass and I told Casa, I want to sit down with your brother and have a conversation with him. And she's like, absolutely no, I love what you guys are doing. You have to do it. The very fact that I had the conversation with her, and then in a day or so, you immediately call me and you want to be on board. I think I was so impressed with that. Like, I can't even tell you that. I think that that's an attribute which I'm still in or of. Like, I'm not just saying it because I don't think I've ever said this to you, even on the number of phone calls, because this was supposed to happen in Feb, then it's finally happened. I'm so glad it happened.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so sorry, but no, you don't have to be don't have me like an all-so we just caught y type.

SPEAKER_01

But then then, like when you were busy with shoot and dubbing, so you're all busy, had come now, reach out to me. I don't think I've ever been left on red or left on, like, you know, I think that's an amazing attribute of yours, which I admire. I think I have mad respect for that. I think that's amazing, and I had to say it.

SPEAKER_02

You always used to say that. And Adma tool, I think when you guys spoke and Nansha asked, okay, is this something that we could explore? Ningavanda soninga, you actually recalled one of our reels from current episode then. Like he knew what we were doing and talking about. And we were so happy, we were like, oh no.

SPEAKER_05

You guys are all over my Instagram. What do you guys think?

SPEAKER_02

I like how I'm on all over y'all called them. That's like that's I think that's how Yeah, we're so happy. I was genuinely happy. I was like, oh, did he say that? And she said, Yeah, that's what he said. He was like, Yeah, Napate, it's all this reel about, you know, you girls talking about this.

SPEAKER_01

So we're so happy. You guys like look like you've been brought up with like uh good values and like good conversations more than values, right? And I've heard some stories from calves like how you all used to co-sleep. Because I'll I'll I'll tell her, like, you know, oh my god, I can never get Rudu and uh Veda out of my room. And she's like, what are you talking about? Me, my brothers, and uh we all used to go sleep with my parents till we were in school or something, you know? I was like, lolly calves, and it was like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And those are like stuff which uh a family who's tight, like I understand when you say like your little clan is your family, right? My little clan, you know, the best friend they are not my sister. Okay. Like literally, I've said that so many times that some people have been like, um, don't you think that's weird? For both of us, for both of us. It's like, I don't think it's weird. Like, literally, she's my best friend. I don't think it's weird. Remember Shruti one time, I was like, Don't you think it's weird? And I was like, Yeah, because I think like I'll look at again. So the next thing, like, what was one value that was non-negotiable growing up?

SPEAKER_05

Like, see, my mom got married very young, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh so for some reason I think it became very, very mandate that our wins, like if I uh I'm successful about something, it becomes everybody's wins.

SPEAKER_04

Right. That is so cute.

SPEAKER_05

And if somebody is in problem, like for example, my sister or my brother is in trouble or something, it becomes everybody's problem. It's not like it's just his problem, it's not like it's just my sister's problem or my mom's problem. It becomes everyone's issue, and everyone stands up for everyone. And I think it got stronger in the last, say, about 11 years or something. But this is one thing that's always been there. And even till today, I think uh it's been a while, uh like because of these promotions and everything. I couldn't talk to my sister. But whenever my sister uh picks up the phone and talks, right? It's it's like quite random. Nothing in particular. Yeah, even the conversation when she told me that you want to do a podcast and everything, she she called me. Like, where are you? I'm like, I'm I'm outside, can I just call you in some time? So she doesn't respect the fact that I'm out, I'm doing work, something is happening.

SPEAKER_00

You're just my brother, you need to listen to it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and I was in a very important meeting. I had people sitting there, and she's like, Okay, okay, I want you to do Anusha's interview. Just uh, I mean, podcast, just give her a call. And I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Thank you. Right? She's a nice one.

SPEAKER_05

So she's like that to the point. Nice, nice. And if I talk to her for like after the first two, three minutes, maybe the first two minutes will be about what she wants to tell me. The next two, three minutes about what I should be doing next. And after that, uh random. Random where I just have to keep the phone. She'll keep talking on her own. And at any given point, you can just take the phone, keep it in your ear, and you still know that she's thinking that I'm listening to it.

SPEAKER_01

But so you were in uh Michaels, Kara was in Michaels. Was Gakash also in Michael's?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So do you ever like you know, do you know how my sister's because she used to do that like in school, like never like it were like really well-behaved children in school.

SPEAKER_05

Oh no, see, I could proudly say that my sister is so and so, but I wasn't the best kid. According to me, I wasn't the best. Yeah, yeah. After a point of time, I think my life became about movies.

SPEAKER_01

I started going to theatre bunking classes and really um but I know your dad is like really strict because cars has told me now, culture is Ramachandra, la culture is like sitting in the car waiting for me.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I never got to do anything crazy, noosh. Like, you know, I remember that because when she was coming to our beach house, right when COVID was about to happen, you came to drop her. I think. I don't know whether it was you or Akash. And it's like my brothers came to drop me off noosh. Like, you know, we were in beach house, and that time you guys were living in ECR in that ECR house. I was like, what did your brothers think that I'm gonna steal you and take your kidney away?

unknown

What the hell?

SPEAKER_02

How does it normal people then? Yeah, because our sister's safe with them.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so but it used to be a thing, you know. I remember uh now college first year, I wanted to get into films and everything. So I used to have these um classes in the stunt class in the morning, which which used to happen, say about eight o'clock. So I was responsible, although we had a driver at home who could drop my brother. I used to drop my brother in school. So daily Kali Land that now licensed. I used to go drop my brother in school. Uh and I wanna put a pickup under to Nanda. I used to go pick him up after my first set of classes. I used to go pick him up.

SPEAKER_01

And this was during your college time.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, like the first year or something. Like 18 or something.

SPEAKER_01

How did you get away going to so many classes studying in Satya Bama? How did you even go to Satya Bama? Were you about to say Satya Bama was fun?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, I really liked the Wow. See, college life is college life by general. I haven't seen the other side of life, no? So this is what I've seen, and I really enjoyed it. Although, see, today when I go to that college, it's completely different. Uh, because when I studied it was quite strict and everything.

SPEAKER_03

I think it still is, isn't it?

SPEAKER_05

I don't think so. I think it's pretty chilled out right now because there's like a huge dome and everything built where it's it has Wi-Fi and everything. Oh, yeah. You can't take your phones also.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, really? Okay.

SPEAKER_05

It used to be a taboo and uh uh Basla Dampono and uh Parcha the co ed school. Here it was like uh I mean it was uh coed and everything, but then uh pasungal tanimas.

SPEAKER_01

But things have changed.

SPEAKER_05

It's no more than that, definitely not.

SPEAKER_01

Ah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

And I like going to that college. Apropos crosspoint, I'd probably tell people this is my college, this is where I study.

SPEAKER_02

But I find it so cute that you grew up with two siblings and uh you know you have an older sister, you know, Tambi. Is it true? Have you heard about the middle child theory where the middle child is the one that's confused because he's the middle child is torn between the older one and the younger one? Is that true?

SPEAKER_05

For the longest of time now, Lady Sabdinan Instagak. Because I remember there was this one fight that me and my sister had. This was the worst fight of our childhood, I'm telling you. After that, I didn't talk to my sister for months together.

SPEAKER_01

No, you know what the fight was? What was it?

SPEAKER_05

Uh so uh we do a grapravation. My dad was building that house, and upon the gifts. So there was this one gift that was a jewel box. Ah, yeah, yeah, yeah. One of those kinds. And top left open panna, there'll be two people dancing with music.

SPEAKER_01

I like how this is going.

SPEAKER_05

So my sister really liked that. Just because my sister really liked that, I really liked it. So my sister is like, no, no, you you take the thing. So in the plast of parasitic, she's like, You paint this. And she takes the more expensive one, whatever she took. Then we both started fighting, became a physical fight, and physical fight. I am not someone who can hit my sister at all. Then I was much shorter than her. This stopped. My sister stopped beating me up only after I grew taller than her. Until then, I used to get beaten up.

SPEAKER_01

She is quite tall too, though.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, she is told.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And uh, yeah, that was the worst fight of our childhood. Even now, I'm saying you my sister is a doctor.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And if you suddenly have a cold one, cough one, or something or fever one. You if I pick up the phone and I call my sister and I tell her in the cold, first two minutes, therapy solo matters. First two or three minutes. She'll be like, okay, fine, do this, do that, or she'll send medicines. So at this point of life, I don't call my sister if I have an issue. Body related. I I I I've decided to call like a proper doctor. What do you mean, proper doctor? Because this is like a sister doctor, no? Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

You get the added benefit of advice and I mean subjective.

SPEAKER_05

That is a benefit, it's a benefit. But then first three minutes of uh her yelling at me, it becomes a thing where Adana and a guy is the next uh uh one. I I decide to go talk to a doctor and everything. She gets offended for that also.

SPEAKER_01

But she's like one, I don't know, like Cavs, uh the way she talks about you, I swear to God, I've never I understand that because this is literally that's the di I think this podcast works because of this chemistry that I have with her. Sometimes my nephews and all came, uh well, he just came home and he left and he's like, you know what? You literally just said what uh Rave said. So it's like that dynamic that happens. So I told the way she talks about you is like solidly the most endearing thing ever, ever.

SPEAKER_05

Has to be, no, because I I'm telling you, no, why I said that is even when I was a child, uh, I used to look up to my sister so much. My sister, yes, my father was my hero and everything. But for me, my sister was the thing. Yeah, so whatever she does and whatever she says, uh if oh okay, so she likes eating in the chicken heart.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

We used to fight for that. I never used to like that at all. And because my sister liked that, I used to like it. I never have today I've realized that I don't have an issue eating chicken with skin. Okay, and my sister used to hate that. So preconceived notion that even I hate that. And my sister, in general, uh, when we grew up, at least for the longest period of time until I was 10 or 11, then there are so many pictures. In the rest! And she used to look at it.

SPEAKER_01

You need to show us those pictures. We need to get it. I don't have that. I don't have any of it.

SPEAKER_05

I'm scarred by that. But yeah, uh, and the extra extension hair. For some reason, all my sisters' clothes, they'll put it on me, and they used to dress me up like a girl and everything.

SPEAKER_01

Traumatized, gosh, but you turned out pretty great. Yeah. Nobody got traumatized, no one was hurt in the process.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, that's what we think.

SPEAKER_02

So, how does Akash fit into this uh equation? You see, like the pampered one, and um, Akash is the third uh child, like third and the last child. Is he pampered or independent? Do you cut him a lot of slack or rumbachlama or you get you are also strict along with Aka?

SPEAKER_05

Oh no. What's it like? I was never strict with Akash.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah?

SPEAKER_05

I think me and Akash were very close. Okay. The bond that my brother and my sister share is like more mother and the other wives. Me and my brother are very close.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_05

We used to be these kids where uh um so we used to have single beds. Uh so every day once school is over or something, on the bedrend that you say. And we used to be obsessed with WWE.

SPEAKER_03

Right.

SPEAKER_05

So I'm a brock listener.

SPEAKER_03

So bad.

SPEAKER_05

I used to like carry him uh this and a few body slum photo. There used to be times where 100% because that game will stop.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Play that game. Yeah, and yeah, we end up with finally they were like they bought us like four big mattresses that we can just put on the floor and do whatever you want.

SPEAKER_01

The one thing that I've always noticed about you is, like I said, you're one of the most well-mannered and one of the most grounded persons I've ever seen, like, ever seen. I it's beyond me. That's the first thing I actually tell people. For people, when I say it's never Atarwam only, it's obviously it's like when I tell people it's like Karv's brother, Lionel's uncle, or like you know, I don't know. Like it's it's it's like it's it's a sense of very grounding energy that all of you give away, you know. Who shaped your sense of who played a very important role in uh shaping that sense of dignity or like you know the self-respect you that it you walk into the room and you do have me? I I believe in main character energy. I I believe everybody should feel like they're the main character of their life. Nobody can tell me otherwise. It they might call me a narcissist or anything, but you need for self-love is the first love, isn't it? Like first Adikaprana Mataung we'll see you why to why how you look at yourself and uh who shaped that kind of uh innate quality in you growing up?

SPEAKER_05

Like I think initially it was 100% I'll have to give it to my parents uh because we were raised in a very uh very how do you say uh very very normal sense. Like although my father was an actor and everything, we didn't get those privileges of yes. We were being called so-and-so's son or everything. It's not like they used to give us money and we used to thrive for that one rupee and the law. And that's how we were raised. But I would say this was a minor part of our life. This was just early on in our life. But after that, I think life in general happened to all of us, right? We understood that we'll have to have our own independent characters and everything. And not that they'll always be like a decision. It was always given up. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And it's not like my parents or any anyone used to tell that in the decision correct, under the decision, at least we had that leverage, but after that life happened to us. Nowhere was my mother given that opportunity also to tell us, saying that do this or do that. Because she was also trying to figure things out, right? So it was all upon each and everyone, including my sister and my brother. I think all of us had to figure life in general for all of us. And life made us the way we are, I would say.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. There's no bigger lesson than that. True, true. So when your parents raised you, was it confidence? So forget parents raising you. For you, is it confidence first or kindness first?

SPEAKER_05

Kindness. I don't think we were ever confident as people. Confidence came growing up. I'm telling you, we're not we come off as confidence, maybe confident maybe. But then it's not like we were room kula kumbuta. I have to be confident that was never there. We we never used to put that pressure upon us. We always were kind to people, and uh not that it didn't come naturally to us. We were raised that way, and we we found out that now our example could be a good thing. The most happiest memories of my childhood would be that five to seven slot where uh I used to live in Ashoknagar, and those were the best times of my life. In a weed one, it was a rental house back then. Uh weeding. So it was a dead end this side, that's a good thing. And luckily, all our age group. Meaning four or five years above lesser and the maridakma. So four o'clock, four thirty wall of the valada. So that used to be the most uh fun times of my life and the most fondest memories of my childhood that I hold. Yeah, and no one cared that what you come with or who you are, otherwise, then I don't think that should even matter to anyone. And we are all individuals in our own senses, and it was nice uh with everybody.

SPEAKER_01

Um for me, also it was something like that because we lived in Kekinaga, we lived in a dead end like that, but in my grandmom's house, and our parents were hustlers, like they were working. So my mom found a house right opposite of grandmom's house. So, like you said, so for two that and the four till my mom comes and gets me from my grama's house, we'll all be on the road playing. Literally, apparently, I don't know how. I don't think I'll ever let Rudu or somebody fend for himself. They won't care. They won't care, they won't know. But I have this core memory because I was the tiniest at that time. So on the area lap and like you know, on the apartment, excuse. So they'll be like, oh yeah, come here, come here, let's all go here. And the so do you have any core memory like that? Like, you know, not necessarily the same thing. Like growing up, there was the okay, those are simpler times. So I often find myself talking about it with my friend. It's like, you know, we'll be playing on the road. Do you think I can let my kid right now to play on the road and be like, okay, literally, they won't even care. I'm sure it was like that for you as well. Like, right? Like, right? So, do you have something that you keep playing back in your head? Okay, yeah, that was like a really good memory. One core memory from that time.

SPEAKER_05

Like, see, limitations. It's not like we could go anywhere and come back. Uh but I upon the U port, in the packo main road. So other renders, okay. Uh like family friends. But on the U Tandi Poker. But uh for us, it used to be a thing where uh line across front of the poet. India India Pakistan and other one is a sense of anchor. Like you cross that you and you go the other side, no? Yeah, you become a man. So it used to be like that. And uh, even then, you know, uh hide and seek or some game that we play, right? We wouldn't even know their house.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I think it's a good thing.

SPEAKER_05

And I don't know if they knew that we were hiding. It's not the right thing to do.

SPEAKER_01

Now, now back then I feel like our parents were always friends with their neighbors, they knew each other. Like you said, aunt, but a family friend, right? Yeah. That culture existed then. Now I don't think it exists.

SPEAKER_05

But it's a good idea.

SPEAKER_01

Shut up, really. Yeah, I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_05

I wouldn't know how to come out.

SPEAKER_01

What if it was some creep then? Luckily, we didn't have a creeping.

SPEAKER_05

And there used to be a house, I remember, uh, on the corner building, uh businessman, where they used to have multiple cats. So my thing used to be catching the kitchen, it'll be sitting, you know? So, you know, the pura.

SPEAKER_01

But you have always been a pet person, or is it me assuming that because Laya always used to have like a lot of dogs, cats, Persian cat on which to Sutitruko? Were you a big pet person growing up?

SPEAKER_05

I used to be a dog person. I still am a dog person. Oh, nice. Uh I've never I don't remember a time where I didn't have a dog at home.

SPEAKER_01

Do you have one now?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, I do.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, nice. What's it?

SPEAKER_05

Praha.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, she's a Siberian husky.

SPEAKER_02

Husky, yeah, that's a very nice name. Um it's Prague.

SPEAKER_05

So that's my favorite city. Oh, that was one of the favorite city. City is Prague. So Adikapra, I just named my dog Praha.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice.

SPEAKER_05

Where my sister has this thing where Sadhana one is a very good thing. This is our dog. We used to have squirrels at home.

SPEAKER_04

No way.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, and the squirrel was the mala vegetables, yeah. Multiple squirrels at home. Uh colored chicken wheat, uh, squirrel, nine, puna kuti varo. But she takes care of it like two days. After that, it's up to us to take care of it.

SPEAKER_01

It's so good that you adopted it and took care of it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, yeah. But if uh bird kun cat cover.

SPEAKER_01

But they all coexist. How do you maintain? And husky, I'm sure they are like, you know, they they have instinctly go behind birds, don't they?

SPEAKER_05

Not birds, cats.

SPEAKER_01

Ah.

SPEAKER_05

My dog likes seeing birds and everything, bird watching. And of course, it can't fly, so there is no chance there. But cats, my dogs uh my dog generally doesn't like cats.

SPEAKER_04

Nice.

SPEAKER_02

But growing up, were you all thick ass thieves? Was it like, okay, even if one of us knows something that the parents shouldn't know, or one of us does something, apa makta? Like all three of you all like kept that secret.

SPEAKER_05

I wouldn't say that we are friends, friends, Abdi and Soly. It's not like that. We always had our own set of friends and everything. But the sibling bond was very, very high. So when I see my sister, there's a lot of respect for her. Yeah. Although today I sit and I talk to her, I have my own chats with her, I fight with her and everything. But beyond everything, even if I have like an argument with her, the next minute I want to just take the phone and say, sorry, sorry. And for my brother, also it's the same. So we can't call ourselves friends, but yeah, the sibling bonds are very like have she ever gotten you through a breakup or something?

SPEAKER_01

Like, did you ever have a breakup?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, yeah, of course.

SPEAKER_01

Like a heartbreak. Have you had your heart? Have you ever had your heart broken?

SPEAKER_05

Like really? Yeah. Everyone has.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

But I ca I don't go to my sister for advice. She'll hype me up so much.

SPEAKER_01

The number of times that I had a hyped a brave in a relationship, like, why are you even with him? Like, you know, like so much so Dora tells her sons when I think Rudu was five years old, and we're not going to be able to do that.

SPEAKER_02

He'll always say that. So like So we asked Aviaka actually for an embarrassing story of yours.

SPEAKER_05

Notion.

SPEAKER_02

And can you guess what she said?

SPEAKER_05

No.

SPEAKER_02

No, we won't chew together.

SPEAKER_05

There are many. I don't know which one she's.

SPEAKER_02

Take a wild guess.

SPEAKER_05

I don't want to. I wouldn't know. There's so many. No.

SPEAKER_01

There are so many? Okay. Okay, what would have been like the most.

SPEAKER_05

Is it PG 18 or that's a really smart move though?

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, obviously kids are watching. It's not CG. Um that many embarrassing things you would have done? Really? So we want to know that.

SPEAKER_05

No, you guys tell me which story you guys are talking about. No, I'm curious about that.

SPEAKER_02

No, you tell us and we'll tell you if it's the same story. Otherwise, we get two stories.

SPEAKER_05

No, but then you tell me which story I'll tell you if it's true or not, because my sister has her own version of the entire story.

SPEAKER_02

She does? No. Okay. We'll see if it aligns with us.

SPEAKER_05

Okay. I don't know if I can say this always.

SPEAKER_01

You can.

SPEAKER_00

If you don't mind saying it, we don't mind saying it.

SPEAKER_05

For me, no.

SPEAKER_02

Then we'll tell you.

SPEAKER_05

No, for the longest of time, no. For uh any events that my sister calls, or any invent in general, no, um laughing.

SPEAKER_01

Now I'm curious. Now you gotta you can't leave us hanging like this. How is it any fair?

SPEAKER_05

No, guys, wardrobe malfunctioner ko in general.

SPEAKER_02

Like uh all of us have had that. We've had it on our show and we literally shot like an episode and we've had a wardrobe malfunction the whole episode. We had to scrap it like that.

SPEAKER_05

But then for me, at the bigger moments of my life where award po we wangamod or wardrobe. Yeah, things like that happen too.

SPEAKER_02

But see, you've been lucky with it because we have not heard of such wardrobe malfunction.

SPEAKER_05

No, that's not the story then.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, that's not an outitude. There was no story.

SPEAKER_01

She caught it, she was finishing it out of the I'll give you the best one. Very, very off mic, then like without cameras, yes, I will tell you there's more. 100%, 100%. But then, like, let's get to this point where I feel like you never eclipse people. I I I I have like mad respect for you that way. I think you glow in your own sense. Like, is it intentionally you do it on screen? I think this is the only on-screen question that I'm gonna ask you. But or does it just come innately? You're so you know, you're so sure of yourself, right? Like, I'm just gonna go and do my magic because I know what I bring to the table, right? That is it an intentional thing, or it just is like an organic thing that you do.

SPEAKER_05

No, I'm quite comfortable in front of the uh cameras right now. Uh initially I wasn't. I was too scared of facing the camera. In the go on that frame that I know exactly what I'm gonna do. And as an actor, also I'm quite uh, how do you say, quite content as an actor. And I go on that on the whatever I'm doing, I know in that particular frame I can dominate. And it's not intentional that I want to dominate that particular frame. I always look at it as a bigger picture. So yeah. So it doesn't matter that I'm the only person shining out in a story.

SPEAKER_01

But you do do that. You know then? You have that aura when you come on screen, it it does have that energy because that's something that I'm always in awe of when I see you on screen, because you it feels like it's something innately in you to do that. It's like something you don't need to learn to do that.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but see, today I've come to an understanding that cinema is not just a one-person game, right? It's teamwork.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

So uh uh it becomes a relationship formed. It becomes like you want to do another film, you want to keep in touch with people. But when a movie doesn't do well, right, it's it it like sounds very superficial, but then it becomes harder to keep in touch with people because you always hold this baggage that's there's something that we did together. Yeah, it didn't do well. It wasn't appreciated by people. End of the day, we're all actors, we're here to get appreciated by people for the work that we do. Uh so the bigger picture matters to me a lot more than me as an individual. So we're seeing that if somebody else is like doing really well and it's a part of my film, you know, it gives me immense happiness more than me performing in that scene or me outshining in that particular scene, other one that it becomes secondary for me. So and the padama one that to work out, you know, these relationships are built over time. So this is how I see it.

SPEAKER_01

Like, have you ever worked in a movie and you thought, oh, this one did me dirty? Like you saw the screen, and I was like, this one did me dirty. I can't believe she did this on me. He did this to me, or any movie script like that. Okay, that feels a little like throwing you under the bust line. Yeah, those things.

SPEAKER_05

How would he follow us to think? Yeah, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, I'm getting him into trouble because this is not a podcast like that.

SPEAKER_05

No, there have been movies, of course, right? Over time, there'll be movies that you don't really enjoy the process. So today I've started believing in the process.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Till the very end, I will stick on to the process. But result, I will be like a little bit detached from it. Because the result is that. Yeah. There were like a couple of films that was close to my heart where I thought this will do really well. But it affected me to a certain degree. So, I have come to a realization that trust the process and not the result. So, result, I detach. So, I will do my best till the release, till the last second, I will do my best. If it does well, well and good, all of us are happy. It does well for everybody around the film. If it doesn't do well, then the uh lead faces the biggest brunt, right? Yeah. So Andamari one, I take the biggest brunt. I take responsibilities for whatever's gone wrong in that, and I move on in life.

SPEAKER_01

But how can you take the responsibility? Because it's like you knew the script and they knew what they were going to make. You went and did the job, and I think you're a phenomenal actor, someone who can cry, someone who can laugh, someone who can flirt. I think when Bode Ko the song came, honest to God, it came during uh COVID, yeah. It released during COVID. It was on loop because Rudu loved that song. And honest to God, I really thought it was going to be a movie, and then Cass told me it's a song. I thought the movie's coming out and it's gonna act in a girl to maintain a movie or something like that. I said, No, it's a song. Just how you emote, right? You you I think you're a very well-rounded like you're good at everything. Like, do you realize you're really good at everything? Do you know that? Are you very aware of that?

SPEAKER_05

I mean, I try to be the best in what I do.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but are you aware of it? That I am really good. I can cry, I can laugh, I can flirt, I can fight, I can dance.

SPEAKER_05

I'm comfortable doing what I do. So uh awareness comes from being comfortable, right? Yeah. So that way I think I'm aware of it.

SPEAKER_01

Um your mom and uh your big number one hype girl. Like, you know, she no matter what she does, she'll be like the best, no matter what. Is it like that?

SPEAKER_05

Really? My sister is that. My mom is not that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

My mom, certain films, she doesn't like the fact that I do hard-hitting stories where uh umbo intense on the films. My mom can't watch films like that. She doesn't want to. Uh that's her choice. Yeah, but she's like uh Adala Panambo, she doesn't really watch it all. So she'll see like uh certain glimpses of it, and she'll be like, Okay, you've done a good job. Sneepati, I don't think mom talks too much about it. Too much, yeah, yeah, yeah. It's more like we're still kids. Uh although uh we've grown up to be actors or whatever. We're still kids. She still advises me every morning. If I have a flight to catch, she's the most stressed-out person. She'll be like, Did you wake up? Did you do this? Did you do that? Like, I keep having those conversations with my mom saying that I'm a grown adult. I can handle it, I can do my thing. There are, even if not you, I mean, I have certain people uh who can take care of certain things. So you don't have to take up that responsibility of being solely solar.

SPEAKER_01

We had to take a short break from our conversation with Tatarva to talk about the beautiful outfit that we are wearing today. This is Rewind by Sanjana Anand. Uh, someone who reached out to me through a very dear friend. I've never met her, but this is a brand that she has launched very, very recently and wanted us to wear it on our podcast, and we couldn't have been more happier to say yes to her.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, thank you, Sanjana, because these outfits feel so buttery soft. They look so pretty. And I and even the colours, I really love the colours and the embroidery work. Everything about these uh outfits made us want to say, yeah, let's do it. Do it, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And she shared the website, and we had she has some amazing collection of clothes, co-s and tops. And this is something you could wear for a brunch or just like wake up and be fabulous. You don't need a reason to look great. And today we're wearing, we've partnered up with NAC Dwellers as well. Some of the most beautiful diamond pieces that we are wearing today is uh from them. And thank you so much, Sanjana, for reaching out to us to wear this beautiful ensemble and pairing it up with amazing jewelry. I I feel fabulous. Uh, everyone, if you loved what we are wearing today, you should definitely go and check out Rewind by Sanjana Anand. It it's a sheer honor to like know an amazing human like this, right? Like But is there like a process when you do your movie? Like, how do you go through? What's the process like? Like when you've picked the script already, like you love it.

SPEAKER_05

So how do you depends on what kind of scripts I pick? If I'm picking like a love story or something, other the process is not that much for us. Uh art form, uh I did this movie called E.T.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, where I had to play an athlete. It wasn't necessary for me to come ripped and everything. Yeah, no, it's about a boy next door. Uh, Bag Milka Bag. I was quite inspired by that stuff. Okay. And I wanted to create like under intensity. And I got the script, quite excited about it. And I was like, depends. If I have to learn an art form, which I am for the next one.

SPEAKER_01

What are you learning?

SPEAKER_05

Uh okay, fine. Okay, fine. All right. Yeah, if I have to learn an art form, then I'm completely engrossed in it.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh where I don't think about anything. If two hours, three hours, or something that I'm doing. I'll complete a concentration on where and uh it's it's quite fascinating to me because now the other I'll be thinking of too many things. Uh the kapro, maybe I will think of too many things, but that two hours, three hours, my mind doesn't go anywhere.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, not even for a second. Even when I'm just sitting down for like a couple of minutes, I'm very engrossed in what I do. That's that's how I tell you. Like certain people ask me why uh my phone or my Instagram, or in general, I take time to reply or something. You know, on the yankita irkad, uh I'm very present in that moment. Whatever I'm doing, when I travel, very low, it's not necessary for me to take pictures, nothing. Anger and the moment I like seeing it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. Okay, so before we before you continue, I just want to like cut in and have three quick questions. I'm not gonna put pressure and say rapid fire, you know, but then like three quick questions. Um, what is the most gentlemanly thing you've done lately? The last most gentlemanly thing you've done.

SPEAKER_05

I don't know. I don't know what the thresholders levels are.

SPEAKER_01

That's huge. Yeah, that's that's entirely up to you. Up to you. According to you, the most okay.

SPEAKER_02

Because we've heard that you are one of the most gentle gentlemanly people. Like you're such a gentleman as what I've heard, what I've seen from the list. So our bath is very relative. So according to you, what was the last standards that you hold yourself to without getting into details? Yeah, yeah, yeah. If you want if you want to break into soon, yeah, we can dance about it.

SPEAKER_05

Like I like giving flowers to on those important days.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh like giving flowers to my mother, my sister, or people that I know and I'm close to.

SPEAKER_01

And I saw that that calves put, thank you so much, Valentine's. They can also say, Oh my god. Did you wish that?

SPEAKER_02

Did you wish you had your brother instead of a sister?

SPEAKER_01

Did you let God have a little sister only? Just to give me flowers? Oh nonsense, of course not. I never trade you for anything, Dave. Rather than for Athena, still want you as my sister. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Nice, nice. Okay, next, uh, what's your biggest pet peeve?

SPEAKER_05

Like eye contact. It's necessary for me. When I'm looking and talking at someone, right? My eyes don't go anywhere.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, so you know, suddenly, get annoyed.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, okay, interesting. Next one, um, what does respect look like in 2026, according to you?

SPEAKER_05

Quite subjective, no? I mean, for certain people.

SPEAKER_01

We just want to know with you. So we want to pick your brain.

SPEAKER_05

Uh respect. The other person sometimes, although you want to hold on to someone so tight, it's better to let go. And even otherwise, I think uh it's better to give each one their own individual space. Definitely uh without barging too much into it. I expect that, and I I prefer it if I do the same for other people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. A hundred points for that. 100 points for that. But no, no, no, no. No, I have two truths in one room. Okay, so Atarva loves Lego. Secretly is obsessed with cooking. Atrava once wanted to be a sports person. Or is it two rumors and one truth in there?

SPEAKER_05

No, you're right. Two two truths and one.

SPEAKER_01

One. Okay, which one is the truth?

SPEAKER_05

I don't like cooking because I don't know how to cook. The only thing I know is to make dosas. For Laya, I mean, keep making Mickey Mouse dosa. Although she does not know what Mickey Mouse is. That's the my extent of cooking is putting dosas. I wanted to be a sports channel. Yeah. Which sport? Yeah, football.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, interesting.

SPEAKER_05

Right now?

SPEAKER_02

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_05

Sometimes. For fun. Like po on the set to Sarah Martha. All my boys have become lazy. They don't want to get out and play football.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. I have another thing, okay? So now it's a personality playlist. Give me the playlist of your personality. Just three songs, okay? One for 7 a.m. And it can be quick. One when you're at a party. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Like what kind of party?

SPEAKER_01

No, like a private party.

SPEAKER_02

No, like a party that you're hosting. Something you're hosting. You have people over at home to celebrate something.

SPEAKER_05

Someone music.

SPEAKER_01

One song.

SPEAKER_05

One song. China city gangster.

SPEAKER_01

And one when no one is around. Have you ever seen this movie Green Book? You must watch it. It's a real story about a jazz uh player, like a jazz pianist. It's a really nice one. Yeah, and he'll be a white guy with a black guy as a driver. Yeah. You will enjoy it, I think.

SPEAKER_05

Have you ever seen this movie called Almost Famous?

SPEAKER_01

No. No, but recently somebody was talking about it to me.

SPEAKER_02

Almost Famous. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

That's my all-time favorite film. Because I used to be that kid.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, yeah. Okay. So what's the movie about? I mean, don't give away all of it because I want to go watch it.

SPEAKER_05

It's about a kid who follows his favorite band everywhere the band goes.

SPEAKER_02

Ah, okay.

SPEAKER_05

So under Mari. I used to be a bigger, the biggest fan of Coldly.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Yeah. So concerts.

SPEAKER_05

I've been to like a couple of concerts here and there. But even when I was a kid, although I couldn't go to concerts, I used to follow each and everything. Add books of them, add like wallpapers of them. But timely, it keeps changing.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Rock or a photo. Then it used to be some band. So someone that I really like and admire, I keep following each and everything.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. That's sexy use commitment. One female artist that you've been following right now, a singer. Singer. Somebody.

SPEAKER_05

Right now for me, it's black pink.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, really? Is that because of Laia?

SPEAKER_05

No. No?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, then.

SPEAKER_05

Jenny and Lisa are my favorite.

SPEAKER_01

Really? Okay. I've never listened to Black. I think I'm obsessing about Olivia Dean right now. Like it's more like soul, like, you know, a little bit touching on jazz side. You should like Olivia Dean too. I mean, if you are a jazz person, you will like Olivia Dean's.

SPEAKER_05

What's it called? Olivia. Olivia Dean.

SPEAKER_02

She's the artist. Yeah. Yeah. I think you'll do that. Because recently, so many of the reels had Man I Need as a soundtrack.

SPEAKER_01

She started writing songs when COVID happened, and she played in a lot of jazz bars. So there was never solid, any solid album of hers that came out other than Dyes, I think. That album was it?

SPEAKER_04

Oh jazz.

SPEAKER_01

Jazz, yeah, yeah. You will love her. I think you should. Maybe one takeaway you can take back today and listen to in the car. Nice.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so I'm gonna have uh this segment called Expose Yourself where I ask you something and then you'll just have to fill in the blanks.

SPEAKER_05

Right.

SPEAKER_02

The first one is people think I am fill in the blanks, but I actually am.

SPEAKER_05

People think I'm an introvert, but I'm actually an ambivort.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Nice. Interesting. One thing I'm unnecessarily dramatic about is my hair.

SPEAKER_05

It has to be on point.

SPEAKER_02

But it's interesting when a guy says that. So that is something. Yo, but it's literally happening. Exactly. I think every guy.

SPEAKER_05

Every guy, his hair has to be on point.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he wouldn't. I think his biggest, he he's so happy with his hair, so proud of his hair. And like you said, if his hair is not in place, that is like a bad hair days are a real thing to me.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. There are times when I sit across the table and I'm like, it's so unfair that you get to have such good hair. Uh the next one, the most childish thing I still do is eat milk bikes and uh water. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_05

That's my favorite amongst all the cocoons. Not even milk. For me, milk bikes and water is one different.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. If I'm impossible to live with, it'll be because.

SPEAKER_05

Because I overthink at times.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Right. At it? Or are you just an overthinker?

SPEAKER_05

No, there'll be situations that I overthink. There'll be situations where I have to think so much and I don't even think.

SPEAKER_02

The balance. Yeah, it's all about the balance. So the last one then I always pretend to know about.

SPEAKER_05

I always pretend to know about the other person, I guess, whoever I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

Interesting. That is a strong suit.

SPEAKER_05

Okay, now I'm wondering like, okay, sitting at the- No, I have this thing where when I when I see someone and like even if I I don't even have to have a conversation, if I just hear them talk maybe for like a few seconds, I'll come up with this own theory that I know them.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Like I'm able to analyze what kind of person they are.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Now, now, now, now. Okay, I want to know. What have you analyzed about us now?

SPEAKER_05

But then again, you don't say our love to that person, right? My judgments are my.

SPEAKER_01

Maybe, maybe, maybe I'll just be like, Cast, just find out and let us know. Did he think it was fun? Like, did he think we were okay? But he also said that he's not to do it.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. Well, I have the nicest things to say about you guys in general.

SPEAKER_01

Thank you. Fair enough. Fair. Because also you're a very nice guy, and you're just being very polite. Yeah? Okay. Okay. Yeah. He just said, yeah, that's fair. That's fine. So I want to know about this cinema personality of yours. We did talk a lot now when I wish we could have spoken about that on camera, but like it is so nice to know about your process, how you finish all of that. But was there ever um uh a character that you took home with? Like you thought, okay, this is like you do you ever take one of your movie characters back home while you're in it?

SPEAKER_05

See, I I would like to say no, but then there have always been times when I've become that person.

SPEAKER_01

Isn't that how it always yeah?

SPEAKER_05

It doesn't have to be the most intense films, also, right? It can be uh like even like a chick flick or a rom-com or uh say uh an action film, something. Uh so when I'm doing a cop uh story, so I have this thing where um I feel I need to be rigid at all times. I don't know why that happens to me. Even when I'm at home, I start eating like a cop. Oh, yeah, that's how it is.

SPEAKER_01

So now that Idea Murli has released, have you taken the character back home?

SPEAKER_05

One side lover.

SPEAKER_01

I need to go watch his movie there. So who's this?

SPEAKER_05

What do you mean?

SPEAKER_01

A one side lover, you said.

SPEAKER_05

Um I'm talking about me. Yeah, you.

SPEAKER_01

So who's the other person?

SPEAKER_03

Uh right.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, okay, that. What is acting taught you as a human being?

SPEAKER_05

Like in life, you get to play so many characters, so many different roles, and you get to be somebody else that you're not. And I think that'll be my biggest takeaway because every movie that I do for a few months, I'm a completely different person. Although after work and everything, I come back home, I'm fine. But that process, when you go through that process, right? I pick certain traits from people that I meet. Uh, and somewhere subconsciously, that becomes a part of my film. So when I watch myself perform a particular scene, I start thinking about the person's characters who I robbed from or who I stole from, right? So that happens.

SPEAKER_01

Is there is there something like that you took from someone like that and incorporated into it? What was it?

SPEAKER_05

Many. Uh so there's a film called Parjesi that I did. Very intense.

SPEAKER_01

Ah, intense. And that was your de uh debut in the Barnac Athletic. Yeah. In the tense for a third film.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. But then under Parakula, I met a person. Uh, he was like slightly mentally challenged.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

Uh, and he he never had any uh inhibitions about talking. Urkarpa pay. Uh and there's this huge director who's sitting and directing uh and everything. He'll just watch like this and he'll be like shit and he'll go. So he won't have anything, uh no filter words. But then when when certain people yell at him or say something, no, he'll have this uh very innocent face, like he'll put his head down, he'll do this, he'll do that, and it'll look like he's acting, but that's his thing.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

I didn't apply that in that particular film, but then over time I started doing it in other films. Like even Idea Murli, for example, there's a little bit of that guy straight in. Straight in that?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, really?

SPEAKER_05

Subconsciously that came to me.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Nice. What role changed something inside of you? Was there ever a role like that?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Like change for the good, like or the bad, but definitely changed something inside of you. And that's who you are right now, Anna Madri.

SPEAKER_05

Like every film, you start growing as an actor, you start becoming confident as an actor. I was lucky enough that early on in my career I did like intense roles and everything. I'm able to pull it off. So now I don't have any barriers. So when I listen to a script, I don't have a preconceived notion that this is the kind of film that I have to do or anything. I'm able to know that, and I'm I have this confidence that I'll be able to pull off any role. You give me anything, I will be able to pull off.

SPEAKER_01

I'm sure of that too.

SPEAKER_05

Because early on in my career, I did the most uh tough, I wouldn't say toughest roles, I would say uh everything was out of my comfort zone. I had this thing where uh uh you can be successful only when you're outside your comfort zone. But today I understand that it's necessary to be in your comfort zone to play certain characters. Oh, yeah. So I I try to find the right balance between. Of course, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I see where that is coming from. Maybe that's the most fascinating part of being a movie actor. You get to play different roles. You there's always a learning from every role, isn't it?

SPEAKER_05

Like you it's easy to get typecasted here. Uh like a film does well. You start doing the same kind of film.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I want to see you do more like Idea Murli films.

SPEAKER_05

Oh, I think I want to see myself in colorful films.

SPEAKER_01

Right. It's so nice. It's so nice to see you. Because I think when you walk into a room, like it's not like you are uh I have seen people who movie stars who like live in a bubble and an important Sillana, like you know, they do like shrink and go away. Like you think, okay, where is all that charm? Like you keep emanating. But you are literally charming. Like wherever you've been, I've seen you in birthday parties, kids' birthday parties, and Aka's wedding, and like, you know, all of that thing. And even like you have been a fun police and like you know, party too, but then you still have that like uh a little charm about you that's always there. I think that's like innately your characteristic, right? And it will be lovely to see that in all its glory on a big screen.

SPEAKER_02

I think I think the ranger. We don't have too many heroes who can pull that off as well. That's true, you know, and I think that'll that is um that plays to your advantage because you are somebody who's who literally is probably made for a role like that.

SPEAKER_05

Today I've started enjoying those kind of films.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh the artist in me, like like for me, the art form mattered a lot more.

SPEAKER_04

Right.

SPEAKER_05

Today, I think beyond that, it's like films that I really enjoy doing. These are the kind of films that I'm enjoying doing. It's fun to be on sets, it's colorful to be on sets, and it's good music. You get inspired by so many different ways than you just focusing on the art part of it, right? So most probably in future I'll start doing more films like that.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, even we'd like that video. Really. So before we actually go on to the uh closing, I wanna ask all of us, even you, one thing. Okay, it's called guess. Guess the other person. So you'll guess something about him. Obviously, you and I know each other inside, also. Let's not even try.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's not.

SPEAKER_02

We both will guess something about him, and he'll tell us if we are right. And you have to guess something about the bullmaster.

SPEAKER_01

This is really a good one. Yesterday when she told me this, and I was like, good one. Now I and I didn't even spend time thinking what I should have done that.

SPEAKER_05

And I'll have to be completely honest about this.

SPEAKER_02

No, you're completely honest.

SPEAKER_05

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. We will too. Okay, you go, you go first, you go first.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, I think you'll guess. I mean, he's obviously like a very calm, collected, and centered person, but I have a feeling he might be short-tempered.

SPEAKER_05

At times, maybe. Yeah. No, I'm very patient as a person.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Uh like depends on the situation. Sometimes I can be aggressive, but it doesn't last long. Yeah. It's just for the spur of the moment.

SPEAKER_04

Of course.

SPEAKER_05

It happens to the best of us. Yeah. The Caproma, I think it just lasts for that particular second, and I don't hold grudges in general.

SPEAKER_02

100%. I think it's always the calm ones that are short-tempered, and it never happens regularly, you know? Which is why it's carrying.

SPEAKER_01

That's true, no. That's true. I'm guessing you're a guy, um uh a creature of habit who um I'm guessing you're somebody who takes your fitness seriously, who eats right, who calculates your calories, your protein thing. Not at all. Really? No. Okay, then I lost it.

SPEAKER_05

Now it's become a lifestyle where I am fond of certain kind of foods. And when you say habit, that's there. Because when I'm fond of certain things, I don't like changes around me.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_05

So uh changes positively is good, but apart from that, whatever I'm comfortable with, I don't like changing it. Like I'm very, very uh accustomed to certain things in my life. And uh Tapo Raito, there is a lot of things. There's no no change.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah, yeah. Can I can I get another chance? Okay. Okay. I'm guessing he's the kind of person who gets a coffee order and like break out into a little dance. Yeah. We saw him get a coffee order. Yeah. Right? Yeah, but I heard this from from who? From Calms. Oh, yeah. I just guessed that. It was like he's such a fun person. He's one of those people who'll be talking seriously and he'll just break out into something really fun. So yeah, I don't get funny.

SPEAKER_05

No, for me, I like when people around me are happy.

SPEAKER_01

Nice.

SPEAKER_05

So that gives me happiness. Energy, yeah. And when people around me are happy, I want to make them happier.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice. Then your niece is the luckiest girl in the world, isn't she? I'm sure you spoil her a lot.

SPEAKER_05

I do, to a certain degree.

SPEAKER_01

Does she ever humble you?

SPEAKER_05

Like she's at this age where she understands things. Uh like uh maybe a few years back, she would say that, come pick me up in my school.

SPEAKER_01

And uh, and I have seen you do that when she was in like a play school. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And yesterday she had a conversation with me. She's like, I made something for you for your release.

SPEAKER_04

Uh huh.

SPEAKER_05

And I was like, I'm busy, I can't really come meet you, but I'll try coming and meeting you before. Yeah, yeah. And she's like, it's okay, uh, it's fine, don't stress. Exact words. She's like, don't stress yourself too much. You manage your work. Maybe in theater after I watch the film, maybe then if I see you, I'll give it to you.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, it's so it just broke my heart.

SPEAKER_05

So maybe after this interview.

SPEAKER_04

If you'll go see her, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Well, uh, okay, but like this is a rapid fire. We're done with that, I think. Oh no, you have to guess something about us. He's a polite guy, he won't say mean things.

SPEAKER_05

You're quite emotional as a person.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that I am. Yeah. Like I am, but I don't think I uh don't let out.

SPEAKER_05

No, like peak of anything is uh any emotion would be tears. Like break into happy tears, break into sad tears.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, happy tears, yeah, but sad tears never. I don't think I ever let I don't think I ever cry about anything negative. I don't think that's something that my mom taught me. She always tells me that uh uh woman or a tears when they're um powerful, like she'll always say that. And I think I'm a pretty strong person. I I feel like I'd never cry. I think it's like a sense of weakness, I feel. I'm wired very weirdly like that. If some something the worst thing ever happens, my immediate thing will be like not to cry, like shut down. Like it's like an ironclad shutdown, and I'll be like, okay, what next?

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm not the kind of person who tears up for the weak.

SPEAKER_05

Right. Yeah. But then happy tears are there.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, sure. All the time. Extreme. Extreme. Like if I hear something and I'll be like, oh my god, that's right.

SPEAKER_05

So I was partially right about it. Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_02

I'll give you that. Yeah, 50%, 50%. Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

And um you like talking about your feelings in general?

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah. You're not someone who internalizes and everything.

SPEAKER_02

No, I internalize.

SPEAKER_05

No, but for you, it's better if you talk it out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, she's not. Yeah, I take a long time to talk about it because my internalizing period is like long. And then I love to talk after it.

SPEAKER_05

But for the spore of the moment, you talk. Or is it after internalizing?

SPEAKER_02

It's after internalizing, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like I've never talked about it. I feel like you know, uh, that's something I want to ask you. Does your mood ever affect your siblings? Like, would they know? Like, if you need to be, if you're in a bad mood, will they all be like a little scared? And like at the end, okay, Atawas in a bad mood. Or will they will they come and try to be like, do you need something? Do you need that? Do you need this? And the Madri does your b- Does your mood ever affect the people in your house?

SPEAKER_05

Mostly no. Uh no. I'm someone who doesn't talk about it. I keep it to myself. I internalize and everything. Uh the couple pays amount. Uh but even with my family, I think they give me my space.

SPEAKER_01

They wouldn't barge in or they know if you had a bad day, though.

SPEAKER_05

If I'm around, yes. If in if I'm in my house, then no. Not at all. Illiterate.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, this one's like a rapid fire. You really need to be fast about it. Can't take seconds or more than what is your most awkward compliment?

SPEAKER_05

My nose. I don't know. Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I think this was one of those reels which I saw in the morning and put the phone down, right?

SPEAKER_04

We're talking about it.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. What what is the one pick-up ha pickup line? I'm sure people have they pickup line that you were impressed with. Did someone ever try to come and pick your use a pickup line on you?

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, I mean, people who have access to me, yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I want to know which one impressed you. Like you're like, oh wow, that was a good one.

SPEAKER_05

I wouldn't know it on top of my mind. But then uh recently they've been doing these handmade uh drawings and paintings or whatnot.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_05

So that's quite sweet, I would say, because you put in so much effort.

SPEAKER_01

Or like somewhere when you went traveling.

SPEAKER_02

Like a girl who does not really like knowing you that well.

SPEAKER_05

That's a guy thing. Girls don't use pickup lines. Girls have this vibe going on where they don't just like try to uh match. That makes the guy want to use the pickup line.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, then you tell me the pickup line that you have ever used on someone.

SPEAKER_05

No, no.

SPEAKER_02

Never like I guess it is no.

SPEAKER_01

All this charm, and you've never used the pickup line on someone.

SPEAKER_02

All this charm, and probably that's why he's never used the pickup line.

SPEAKER_05

I mean, it it wasn't necessary. I'd probably be honest with you. No, no, no. No, no. It wasn't necessary to a point where uh so for me it's not like love at first sight. As soon as I see a person, I'm like, wow, and go start falling in love with that person. It's never been that. Uh so over time, I think it becomes a point when you start talking. You both know that you both are crushing over each other or you both are lusting over each other. And what it turns later is what it turns later. But so it's never been a thing where I had to use pickup lines. But school la panirgenar.

SPEAKER_01

What was it?

SPEAKER_05

Like uh I would say, like, do you know how much I love you and everything? And they'll be like, how much? Do you know how much I love you? So night is then count the number of stars. Count the number of dust particles. Oh my god. Ambients. And Gurley did work in my favor.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, nice, nice, cool, right? Like once your awareness fully comes in, only no, you yourself like not hold back and stuff.

SPEAKER_05

It's lean, but yeah, nicer way to pull.

SPEAKER_02

But at least it makes her smile or laugh. So that's all you need.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um, one thing you pretend not to care about care about, but you deeply care about.

SPEAKER_05

When the when the other person is affected by something that I do, uh then I would probably shut them down because when I know I'm not at fault, but then that keeps lingering in me.

SPEAKER_01

Like you made somebody feel that way.

SPEAKER_05

I don't like making people feel bad in general, not because of me. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I don't think you would have ever done that in your lifetime.

SPEAKER_05

Not uh not uh consciously.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, but yung or point la one, there'll be some misunderstandings or something. Well, there'll be this whole uh new story that they'll create and which won't be true from my perspective. It'll get to me. Uh although I I say it doesn't get to me, it does get to me.

SPEAKER_01

What is your role at a party? The dancer, the listener, the snack hunter, or the Irish goodbye? I'm talking about a private party, not in a club, club or something. So who are you?

SPEAKER_05

I'm a dancer.

SPEAKER_01

How can we never seen you dance? Or you've never invited us to any parties where you're dancing.

SPEAKER_05

It'll been a while since I've been in one of those parties.

SPEAKER_01

That's true. Okay. What would your friends say about you?

SPEAKER_05

Like I'm a good friend.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, nice.

SPEAKER_05

I consider myself a good friend. I'm that friend that you call me at 3M, I'm still uh there for them.

SPEAKER_01

That's a great character trait, isn't it? Like that's amazing. What would Laia say about you?

SPEAKER_05

Laya. She has different things to say about me.

SPEAKER_01

In a crux, what would she say about you?

SPEAKER_05

Now I'm her superhero.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm sure. That is so cute. You always were. That's how she always looked at you, didn't she? Like, right? Okay.

SPEAKER_05

I saw that kid grow up.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Yeah, of course. I was the first person to carry it. Yeah, I think there's this really cute photo or video. I don't know. I think it's a photo where she takes a pacifier and puts it in your mouth.

SPEAKER_05

No, even now, when she's eating something, she'll come and stuff it in my mouth. No questions asked. She won't even ask, do you want, do you can you eat? Do you like this? Nothing. She'll be eating something. Oh, it's nice. Just put it in my mouth.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so cute. Dao, thank you so much for sitting with us for this one. Ah, I think we enjoyed ourselves so much. I hope you had fun. So much fun. Yeah, like you know, but I want you to close this for us. I want you to drive this episode home. What do you hope people feel after meeting you, but not after watching you? Like what is it? If someone gets to meet you.

SPEAKER_02

Apart and beyond uh Atarva on screen or Atarva, the person you read about in papers or see on social media, when they actually get to know you. What do you hope for them to feel about? What do you hope for them to understand of you?

SPEAKER_05

I want them to always feel comfortable. I like it when people are comfortable. I want them to feel home. It's not nice when you meet someone, although they are a stranger, it's not nice to make them feel like one. So that's something I'm very conscious about. Not that it doesn't come naturally to me. I like listening to their uh them talk and I like having conversations with people. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Nice. And this has been a phenomenal conversation with you. We absolutely enjoyed having you here on our studio.

SPEAKER_02

And that was two piece in a pod with I think we really have achieved what we set out to do. Because we genuinely wanted to just get to know you as the person that you are, the human that you are. And you know, I'm so glad that this conversation has been so effortless. Thanks to you for making it.

SPEAKER_01

I think good things take time, and I'm glad it took this long, and I got to sit with you this morning. And thank you for being on the show. Thank you. Thank you for having me. Thank you.
