SCARLET ORANGE BROWN

How The Buckeyes Cruise While The Bengals And Browns Search For Answers

Ken Carpenter and Chris Huesman Season 1 Episode 13

Ohio football handed us a full spectrum of emotions: the Buckeyes steamrolled UCLA behind ruthless efficiency and depth, the Bengals unraveled under pressure without Joe Burrow, and the Browns proved elite on defense while searching for quarterback stability. We dig into how Julian Sayin’s calm start and a 100-yard Lorenzo Styles Jr. return set the tone for Ohio State, why resting Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith now matters for Rutgers and Michigan, and how Matt Patricia’s fingerprints are all over a disciplined, relentless defense that looks playoff-ready.

Then we head to Cincinnati, where the lack of sustained drives exposed a defense already stretched thin. We unpack how pressure changed the Bengals’ short-game rhythm, where tempers and penalties flipped momentum, and who actually flashed promise: Mims, Fairchild, Chase Brown, and a trio of young defenders who need snaps more than speeches. The conversation turns candid about what a Burrow-less plan must look like and which pieces are worth building around when the margins tighten.

Cleveland’s story sits in the middle: Myles Garrett continues a Hall-of-Fame arc as the offense scrambles after Dylan Gabriel’s concussion. Shedeur Sanders stepped in, took hits, and showed leadership beyond the box score, while a few officiating moments sparked the recurring question about consistency across the league. We map the Browns’ best path on turf in Las Vegas: simplify early-down calls, protect the pocket, and let the defense cash in field position.

If you love Ohio State football, need a sober read on the Bengals’ identity crisis, or want the clearest plan for the Browns to grind out wins, this one delivers real answers and bold calls. Miles Garrett in the first half. Here's the snap in a rollout to the right. Jackson with pressure for Bush Puckfate. Miles has four.

SPEAKER_02:

Welcome to the Scarlet, Orange, and Brown Podcast, the show that brings you the best of Ohio football every single week. From the Ohio State Buckeyes to the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cleveland Browns, we've got every inch of the Buckeye State covered. Insight, passion, and plenty of bold opinion. Because here it's all football. All Ohio, all the time. Here's your host coming to you live from the Dublin bubble, Chris Husman and Ken Carpenter.

SPEAKER_00:

Hello, and welcome to the SOB Scarlet Orange and Brown Podcast. I'm Ken Carpenter.

SPEAKER_01:

And I'm Chris Usman.

SPEAKER_00:

And this week in the state of Ohio, we went one for three. Buckeyes cruised till 48-10 win over Rut, not Rutgers, but UCLA. They get Rutgers next. Bengals suffered a 34-12 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and they get New England Patriots next. And the Browns were competitive against the Ravens, but lost 23-16. Up next, they go to Las Vegas. By their hand out there, and uh what was your take on the weekend?

SPEAKER_01:

Well, it was another typical weekend here in Ohio for watching our pro sport teams. And again, we have to rely on the Ohio State Buckeyes to keep us uh our head above water here, Kenny. Uh 10-0, 7-0. Hey, just like Urban Meyer said, it's a chance to go 11-0.

SPEAKER_00:

No doubt. Well, the Buckeyes uh, like we said, had an easy win with UCLA. UCLA starting a first-time quarterback. They um they the good thing is they second and third team players got a chance to get some playing time. And uh the big concern is we gotta get Carnell Tate and Jeremiah Smith healthy because the the chemistry wasn't exactly where it needed to be, probably the worst day for Julian Sain, which wasn't really all that bad. A lot of teams would like to have that kick returned by Lorenzo Styles for 100 yards. Defense is ridiculous, and the running game led by Bo Jackson and Peoples, 33 33 runs for 222 yards.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, you know, it's just um I think what we're seeing too, Kenny, is a is a lot of great depth at wide receiver. And you know, we continue to be wide receiver U out there, and just our wide receiver room is ridiculous. That depth that we have, and you know, now we're seeing uh uh a breakout of uh Bryson Rogers. Uh this kid comes out of nowhere as well. So Ennis is continually uh getting better every week. I'm I'm just more and more impressed with him. And you know, the thing about uh Brandon Ennis is I see him as just a great team player. Yeah he's just cheering his fan his uh teammates on. He's up and down the field, he's a ball of energy, uh, he returns kicks and punts, and you know, this kid is just worth his weight in gold, in my opinion. But um, you know, Bo and we talk, we talked about, I think I brought this up, you know, four or five weeks ago, Kenny, but this Isaiah West is just um is so impressive to me. I mean, I think his once he learns to block, and you know, I think he came in um with all the skills available, and then now he's learning to be a complete running back, which means you have to block on those uh play action fakes. And I think once he starts to do that, he's gonna be a good one. Oh, Kenny, he's gonna be really good. Um I just, you know, the whole thing, um yeah, we had the historic, you know, the 100-yard, you know, touchdown return on special teams. Um Carnell and Jeremiah were absent, you know, obviously the majority of those games. Uh Julian just completed um, you know, 18 to 21, but he completed his first 11 passes. And he goes out and sets the tone, yeah, in my opinion. I mean, I don't I just honestly I don't know about the Heisman, you know, all that, and this, that, and the other. And that's great. Those are good athlete or accolades, Kenny, but he sets the tone of the game. I mean, we don't fall, we don't fall behind um, you know, in in large quantities or or behind the eight ball from the get-go in the game because he's usually starts out 11 for 11 or 13 for 13 or 8 for 8 or whatever it might be. And what that does, it just basically puts the defense back on their heels and gives us that, you know that that um that start that everybody needs that quite frankly, the the Bengals and the Browns uh are not getting, right? And so um I don't know. You know, Ennis had six catches, uh, the rushing uh combo there had 222 yards. I I think that's the most this year. Uh don't quote me on that. Um but again, the defense, like you said, Kenny, only gave up 10 points. Uh you know, key interception uh aided that. Lorenzo Styles Jr. with the TD return. Um, you know, again, the first since 2010. Um, but you know, a couple things here um I I think culminated from all that. In my mind, a win versus Rutgers pretty much solidifies and guarantees us a spot in the college football playoffs.

SPEAKER_00:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Um I know we have Michigan looming. You know, I know there's a chance to play, you know, Indiana in the um Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis. Um, but hey, we're number one in the college football playoffs right now. That that just came out. Um but we have to be able to go in at full health. And you've called this from the get-go, Kenny, that um, you know, we've been resting these guys, these little nagging injuries that you get, you know, being in game uh coming up for us, be a game 11. Um, I mean, I'm looking at our injury list, I kind of just googled that today, uh, Kenny, and you know, Smith had a little limp. Uh Day is really downplaying that. Um, but Donaldson with a thumb. Um, you got an offensive lineman in Padilla. Um, and I really and that's uh that looms from the Penn State game, and I really don't get a description, and and they're being pretty tight-lipped on his injury. You know, Saiyan got dinged up with the ankle, Tate with the lower leg. Other than that, we're pretty healthy, Kenny. And um, you know, I think that's evident too with the offense just um uh doing what they had to do, and with the wide receivers being absent, too, uh, I think that just bolstered the running game. And uh and we saw a really good balance of the running game and a passing game uh on Saturday.

SPEAKER_00:

And the one thing that um you know, I'm I'm still a big proponent of, and you know, maybe a lot of people might not like it, but Lincoln Keenholz, when he got his opportunity, he the ball comes out of his hand well, and he he runs with an attitude. I he had a chance to run out of bounds, and he just trucks a guy. And uh, you know, I I just like that guy. I think he's he's someone that you know you you put him in there down around the goal line. I think he gives us a chance to either run or throw it. And I I want to say that uh the the defensive backs in the in the linebackers, I mean Kenyatta Jackson up front, the those guys are just ridiculous, and I can't imagine what it's like for these teams that just don't have the talent to go up against these guys. And but they're just so well coached, and I mean I'm gonna say right now, I think Matt Patricia should be his assistant coach of the year because he is he's doing stuff with these guys, and and the thing that really stands out to me is they they the guys love him, and and you know, you see after the game stuff going on with him, and you know, I've heard people say, well, you know, he's probably gonna leave, go back to the NFL. I think he's having too much fun and he might just stick around.

SPEAKER_01:

I totally agree with what you just said. Um, if he's not assistant coach of the year, I don't know who would be.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

And um I I see the same thing you do, Kenny. I I I what was that comment he made um last week, I think, after or after Penn State game, the comment that he made was, you know, I I just I've been in the NFL so long, I didn't think college football would be like this. And Ohio State, um, it just blows his mind how uh what they do, I mean, their their strength program, um, you know, everything off the field that they do, um, the uh activities that we're they're involved with on campus. Um, you know, I mean, it just blows you away. And you know, I think they're doing a great job. You know, I I did hear um, you know, the Titans were trying to woo Ryan Day away from uh Ohio State. You know, that was a rumor. Um, you know, Penn State was trying to woo Brian Hartline away. Um, hey, that's the ultimate compliment for a football program is you know, they're trying to take all your assistants, your top-rated assistants, your head coach, and um things are just going really, really well for the Buckeyes. And, you know, I'm just looking forward to clinching a college football playoff spot, and then uh let's get it on with Michigan this year.

SPEAKER_00:

Yes, definitely. That'll be a fun one, even though it's there being games going to be played at Michigan. And you know, the the only other thing I I wanted to mention about the Buckeyes before we move on at Cincinnati is Brian Day, his approach this year to complacency has been phenomenal. And the way I believe he the champion grade, he's not even basing it on the opponent now. He jumped it from 80 to 83. So he's just making these guys, hey, it you better you better practice your butt off in every every aspect of the game, or you're not gonna get that champion grade, and that's that's making them better. And the competitive side of it is you see running backs when they get in there, regardless if it's West, Jackson, or Peoples, those guys are running hard and they're fighting for playing time. And that that's that's the best compliment you can have as a coach when you got guys that are third team and and they're they're making the highlights and and just running like crazy.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, you you we said it on the SOB early on, Kenny, uh episode one or two, that the focus that we saw Ryan Day have starting with the college football playoffs versus Tennessee, um, that Michigan game, even though we lost, I think it's paying dividends today. And um, and the reason I say that is because of weekly focus that we have, and the whole entire program has. It's brought us tighter together. Um, you see all the recruits, Kenny. I can't even keep track of the four and five-star recruits that have uh um committing to Ohio State in the past couple weeks. And you just see it's a program that everybody wants to be a part of right now.

SPEAKER_00:

No doubt.

SPEAKER_01:

And you know, I would have no problem sending my son to high estate because of you know what they do and their preparation and what they do off the field, and you were spot on when you said that.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, let's move on and transition over to the uh Cincinnati Bengals. And uh they struggled a little bit this weekend. Flacco, 199 yards, a TV, and a pick. And you know, you you're you're really a big follower of the the Bengals, and the and I don't know. I if I'm coaching that team, I gotta have Higgins and Chase have more than six catches to win a football game. To me, that's the difference right there.

SPEAKER_01:

Well, if you notice the first time we played Pittsburgh, it was you know, two-step drop, get rid of it. Um, it was a slant, it was an out, um, you know, it was a tight end, uh, it was a running back releasing in the flat, uh, it was a running back releasing uh right past the line where the linebackers uh usually line up. I mean, we were just, you know, five, seven yarding them to death. Um, they obviously watch film, they're in the NFL for a reason. Their coaches are good. Um, you know, they kind of took that away. And um, you know, they put a lot more pressure, I think the defensive ends, uh TJ Watt. Um, you know, if you notice when we we ran the ball for the first time all year against the Steelers. Yeah. Um the for the first time we played him. Um we kind of struggled to get that going a little bit too as well. The game was close up until you know halfway through the third quarter. And um I just think to me, you know, Flacco's visibly hurt. Um he has uh you know, just is throwing shoulders dinged up. Um every pass, you know, he's he's feeling he's feeling that shoulder, you know. Um he's got he's got a tendon uh uh in that you know in there that's really causing him problems, and you know, he's not putting that same zip on the ball. Um Jamar got roped into the Pittsburgh thuggery. Um and you know, it's just like in the past. I mean, Pittsburgh's game plan is well, you know, let's be thugs against the Bengals, and you know, they'll jump right in and you know, we'll play the victim card and uh get them in trouble and get them all out of sorts. And you know, the first game we did, we didn't fall into that uh at home. And um, you know, we ended up beating them. And uh this game, you know, here we are, right back into it. So, you know, Ramsey got ejected, but you know, there's gonna be some uh suspension, you know, there. Uh Jamar supposedly spit on him. Um you can do anything with AI nowadays, so who knows what's gonna happen there. I mean, if he did or didn't, he said he didn't do it, but you know, I wouldn't put it past Jamar. I mean, um, you know, uh Porter, Ramsey, all those guys are just, you know, they're thugs. So uh it was the same old thing. I mean, TJ Watt, you know, cheap shots is our quarterback again, and and early, and that that you know, Flacco was, you know, Mr. High Road. Yeah, it was a good hit, you know, so on and so forth. Um, but we can't um without sustained drives, um, by our uh offense, the defense um just can't hold up. And I think that's where Burrow comes into play. I mean, uh, Joe Burrow doesn't get enough credit for sustaining drives, hitting that third down and 14 play, or you know, hitting that third down and seven play that um you know it's just a a run, you know, uh make something happen. But um, I mean, let's face it, you had Aaron Rodgers out of the game with uh, you know, probably a broken wrist. Um, you had their number one running back worn out. Um he goes out of the game. And then here comes Mason Rudolph and their second string running back, you know, driving down the field three times on us, and we just can't make that uh we can't we couldn't tackle their tight ends to save our life. You know, Hendrickson's hurt, that hurts us. Um Cam Sample got hurt with an oblique. Um poor tackling still comes out. Geno Stone, bless his heart. Don't know what he's still doing in the NFL. Um can't tackle a soul. Uh our linebackers are non-existent. You want to watch linebacker play? You watch Carson uh Schwezinger play for the Browns.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

That kid is in on every play. Yeah. I mean, he you talk about getting under the skin of uh, you know, the Ravens. I mean, every time you look up, that kid's making a play somewhere. We just don't have that in Cincinnati.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, I I agree. He uh, you know, the thing is, is what would this season look like before the Bengals if Joe Burrow doesn't get hurt? I mean, yes, they would have had to score a lot because the defense doesn't do a good enough job, but I really believe that if Burrow is healthy, you know, and he's he gets to stick around the way uh Patrick Mahomes gets to play all season, it could be a totally different season for the Bengals.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, uh well, we don't lose to the Jets. We didn't lose we wouldn't lose to the Bears and those fiascos. Um we would have beat Pittsburgh again. Um, you know, I mean it's just uh to to me, um you know, the turnovers, the uh, you know, Geno Smith, like I said, was you know, I just looked at the pro football focus grading. Uh he was the uh lowest graded player uh uh last week. Um but here's the bright side of a season like this. I guess you get to see who you want to keep and who you don't. You know, Mims continues to impress. Fairchild to me is good. Uh Brown, um, Chase Brown is is is worth his weight in gold. Um you gotta have guys like um Brooks, you know, the other running back in there. Um I think he's uh he could be a very, very good one too as well. Turner, uh Battle, Newton, I think are three guys that once they learn the position are gonna be you know stalwarts for you later on down the road. Murphy, I think, could be good. Um I even think Knight, our running our linebacker, could be good once he gets some some experience. Those are some guys you keep. The rest of them, get rid of them. Um, there's a couple guys on the defensive line that I think are very, very, very good. Um but you know, at the same time, Kenny, I mean, we could we got to overhaul the whole entire defense.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, it's it's a it's gonna be a struggle. And you know, it the Bengals are the complete opposite of the Browns, and you know, they're they struggle on defense, and the Browns are just lights out on defense, and and you know, Miles Garrett with four more sacks against you know the Ravens, which usually it's it's tough to get their quarterback down, but the offense once again struggled. Defense did their job. Um before we even get into the Browns, I guess wanted to just mention that uh Bernie Kozar went in this morning for a liver transplant, so there's a good chance that may have saved his life, and you know, that's really uh you know, obviously someone had to lose their life to for Bernie to benefit from that, but uh it it's good because he he's doing everything he can to uh fight and stay alive.

SPEAKER_01:

And yeah, uh we saw that with Mang Nick Mengold, right? With the Jets here a couple of weeks ago. And you know what happened with him and um you know with the whole liver. And he he even went out and you know, there was an outreach on social media uh by him, you know, trying to you know plead for you know his case for liver uh on that too as well. So I just I just wish him, Bernie, all the all the prayers, prayers up to him.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, definitely. And you know, Gabriel went out and you know, he was 7-10, and then he got a concussion. Stadium erupts when uh Shador Sanders steps in. And of course, the Ravens, they they did what you should do with a guy that's getting zero first team reps, and they blitzed him to death. And you know, we'll give Shador credit though. He he he he played as hard as he could, and then you know, on top of that, when the game was over, he stepped up for Dylan Gabriel and said, Look, you know, I appreciate everybody cheering for me, but you know, you you shouldn't view it the way that a lot of the fans for the Browns are viewing it. And you know, they they got an idea what it's like for Dylan Gabriel to sit back here in the pocket. You know, Shador went four for 16, had a pick. Uh, you know, he could have had a touchdown pass that uh you know got broke up there at the end, and they had a chance to to be in it there at the end. It just it's uh one of those things that you know the Browns just they just cannot catch a break and just do not get lucky and have things go their way. But probably more than anything, I I'm looking at you know Garrett and Miles Garrett, and he is having a Hall of Fame career, and he's falling into the same trap that Joe Thomas did. Gonna have a Hall of Fame career, and there's gonna be no nothing to show for it as far as wins or or playoffs and you know a chance at a Super Bowl.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I agree, Kenny. It's unfortunate. And you know, you're talking who has nine sacks in two games?

unknown:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

That that's a season for some of these guys.

SPEAKER_00:

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

And um, yeah, it's unfortunate. Um, it really is. Um, I I would like to see a week with the number ones under Shadur's belt.

SPEAKER_00:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

Uh practice. Um, I think you're gonna see a totally different player if the concussion protocol holds true with Gabriel. I think you'll see a totally different player with Shadur out in um Las Vegas. Um get that guy on turf. And, you know, I mean, it's gonna be it'll be a track meet, you know. And um, yeah, I just you know, I don't think Lamar Jackson uh for Baltimore is uh I don't think he's healthy. I mean, his passing is terrible. Um he's not running like he used to. Um, you know, that reckless just abandon that he does. Um, I thought I thought the Browns had a chance, you know. I think Shadur missed a pass uh where he had two receivers in the end zone, and because he was scrambling and running forward, you know, he overthrew them. Um that's just lack of practice time, I think, with uh you know, receivers and so on and so forth. But you got with that defense, and you throw Schwezniger in the mix, uh, you know, that linebacker's having he's having an all-pro year. I mean, uh, you're at the Raiders, you're you're home against the 49ers, you're home against the Titans, and you're at the Bears. I mean, yeah, the Bears and the 49ers are decent, but um, you know, there's a chance, Kenny, that two, three, four games, you know, you could they could come out with that defense, they could come out on top.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, that's that's all you can hope for. And and I'll give them credit because when you're in that situation, you know, you you and I both know that when teams are having a bad season, you know, from coaching baseball, we know that sometimes you know they guys can just cash it in, and you know, that they look like they're still playing hard and they're they're excited and want to win. So I'll give them credit on that. But but what I wanted to bring up is at the end of the game, you noticed uh my uh teller, the lineman, just freak out on the last offensive play for the Browns, where the guy clearly lined up in the neutral zone, was offside, no call, and there are calls happening around the league. I saw a another game where a guy caught a pass, got tackled, and he stood up, and like every other player in the NFL, he just stood up and pointed, you know, first down, taunting. And you know, there's all these plays that are happening. I'm just like, what I don't understand the refereeing at times, and that's not just the Browns, I'm talking across the league.

SPEAKER_01:

I saw the same thing. I mean, if you watch the Pittsburgh game, um we had I don't I I can't even uh I want to say five spots on two drives that we were driving down, uh that they we didn't get a first down, and um, you know, and then I flip it over uh watching um uh Denver and Kansas City game, and they're doing these reviews where they're on the headset going, uh timeout, you know, officials timeout, uh, you know, the review uh upstairs, um, you know, the spot has moved. And I'm like, where was that during the Bengals game? Yeah. I mean, it's obvious, they get a first down. You know, I mean, the officials were even or the announcers were like, uh, yeah, I got nothing on this. I mean, I don't know why this is uh not being changed, but I I am right there with you. I hey, listen, I'm not gonna blame officiating for the Bengals and the Browns seasons. Um, but you know, there are um, in my opinion, some sometimes where it's like, you know, I'm looking at the referee, the head referee Pat Aaron Rodgers on the back and uh joke with him and laugh. And um, you know, I mean he got uh three roughing the passer penalties. Um you gotta be kidding me, you know, and I know Flacco got one too as well, but you know, there's times where I just don't think it's um I don't think it's even across the board.

SPEAKER_00:

Right. And you know, and I'm I'm talking, this is 30 years ago. I had a job, I was working at a YMCA in uh Charlotte, North Carolina, and there was an official that worked the NFL games, and um he uh would come in and I you know I would always strike up a conversation with him, and and something happened. This is 34 years ago, I want to say, something like that. And I asked him, I said, why did that happen? And he said, I hate uh I hate that F and John Elway. And I was just like, Oh my god, I mean, there was no social media at the time, so and it makes you wonder. I mean, it's that you know, a lot of things can be changed with reviews and stuff, but sometimes you just you gotta wonder, and it's it's the NFL, it's entertainment, it's it's not WWE by no means, but sometimes you gotta wonder if things are meant to go a certain way.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, I totally agree with you, and um, you know, they talk about the old um conspiracy theories and uh scripted this and scripted that, but um, you know, my whole thing is have you ever noticed uh that when they bring um the guy uh Mike Pereira or uh you know the the guys that are and you know used to be head referees and now they're like commentators and analysts for the um you know for the TV programs, and you know, he comes. On he's like, oh, that's clearly, you know, past interference and blah blah blah. And you know, they don't call it. Or, you know, there's something being looked at on the headsets, on an official review, and you know, he says, Ah, it's clearly a fumble, and you know, it's upheld. And it's like these guys, I mean, there's no there's no um, you know, standard or benchmark that they can just say, here's the rule, this is what it is, this is the call. And you know, I just I just don't I don't get it either. I mean, you know, when there's no room for uh error by the Bengals or the Browns, we need those calls every time. Every single one of them we need. And um, you know, that's why people, you know, oh, they're always against the Bengals, they're always against the Browns. Well, we just we don't have any room for error. So one little call is a difference in the game for us sometimes.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah, without a doubt. Well, who do you have for your upset and your lock for this week?

SPEAKER_01:

Um my uh lock would be uh the Bears minus three over Pittsburgh. Um I just think you know Aaron Rodgers probably being out for a week or two. Um I just think that you know Chicago's playing really well right now. And um to only give them minus three against Pittsburgh, I just think that's you know, kind of respect for them, but I just don't see Pittsburgh going out to Chicago and uh keeping it a close game, in my opinion. Um my upset uh would be Kansas City minus three and a half uh to beat Indianapolis. Um I don't see Kansas City loot going to five and six, you know, and um I just don't uh see them losing that uh many games right now. Uh and the Indianapolis has uh not played well the past couple weeks, and um I see Kansas City making that uh making that upset.

SPEAKER_00:

Well, I have on my upset, I kind of went the opposite of you. I thought that if you could if uh Pittsburgh's getting three points, you got to take that over the Bears. And I'm basing it strictly on I just don't know what's gonna happen in the NFL. Yeah, yeah. Uh my luck, I have the Eagles uh given to Cowboys four and a half, and I just think the Eagles are just that much better than the Cowboys, and you know who who knows going in. It's just it's a total guess every week. I don't know how well you saw any.

SPEAKER_01:

I'm I'm watching uh Detroit play last night, and you know, uh their head coach for Detroit has taken over play calling responsibilities. And I mean, he's looking down, he has to put his glasses on so he can see. He's looking down, he's got like three sheets looking down, he's trying to watch the game and the clock, and he's trying to manage all this stuff, and you know, being a great coach of the ye is, I mean, I'm sure, but you just in my opinion, all right, if you're gonna be a head coach, it's like Zach Taylor, if you're gonna be a head coach and call plays, then that's what you need to concentrate on.

SPEAKER_00:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01:

I mean, you can't concentrate on should I throw the penalty flag or the challenge flag here and this, that, and the other. Um, there's just a lot going on, uh, in my opinion. And I just, you know, for a head coach to take it over halfway the year, it's uh I don't know if that's the right call. Yeah, you know, and I think look at look at what happened with Cleveland. I mean, didn't he give the play calling responsibility up?

SPEAKER_00:

Yes, he did.

SPEAKER_01:
