SPEAKER_00:Welcome to the Scarlet, Orange, and Brown Podcast, the show that brings you the best of Ohio football every single week. From the Ohio State Buckeye to the Cincinnati Bengals to the Cleveland Browns, we've got every inch of the Buckeye State covered. Insight, action, and plenty of bold opinion. Because here it's all football, all Ohio, all the time. Here's your host coming to you live from the Dublin bubble, Chris Huseman and Ken Carpenter.
SPEAKER_04:Hello and welcome to the SOB Scarlet, Orange, and Brown podcast. I'm Ken Carpenter.
SPEAKER_01:And I'm Chris Usman.
SPEAKER_04:And we go into the probably the biggest week of the season for football in the state of Ohio. Last week, the Buckeyes took care of Rutgers 42-9. And up next is the team up north. And the Bengals, they had a tough loss to the uh New England Patriots 26-20. But Thanksgiving Day, they get to play the Ravens. And the Cleveland Browns pull off a W against the Las Vegas Raiders 24-10. Up next Shador Sanders. It's the biggest week of the season. So how do how do you how do you look at it, Chris?
SPEAKER_01:Well, you know, a couple things. Um number one, happy Thanksgiving to everybody weekend. And uh number two is you know, I found myself A happy that Ohio State clinched, I guess, a college football playoff spot, in my opinion. Um, regardless of the outcome against Michigan. And, you know, if if they don't win that, obviously they won't be in the Big Ten championship. But um, you know, several things came to my mind, I think. Um it was a typical Bengals uh weekend. Um, but I saw Joe Burrow wanting to come out of uh his injury a little early there, which uh was uplifting to me. And um I saw Shadur Sanders throw a bootleg right, one leg, 50-yard dime. Um that was just incredible. And I even saw the reaction of Miles Garrett on the sideline thinking, where has that been all season? So I think there's some things to be thankful for on this Thanksgiving weekend, Kenny.
SPEAKER_04:Without a doubt. Well, the Buckeyes are the latest side check, they're uh minus nine and a half against the Michigan Wolverines, and I think the two million dollar questions that need to be answered is Jeremiah Smith and Carnell Tate going to play, and what's the weather going to be like? What do you think?
SPEAKER_01:Well, I'm dead with you, and I'm I'm telling you this right now Smith and Tate are ready to go. Um they uh they've been ready. Um, if you've seen some of the interviews this week with um Jeremiah, all he's been talking about was I can't wait for this game. And you know, I want to get my first pair of gold pants. And Tate being a senior, Tate will be out there.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Uh I guarantee it. Um the one X factor is you mentioned it, Kenny, was the weather. You know, I mean, you put these guys in a dome, I'm taking high state 99 times out of a hundred. Yeah. Um, but you put them out in you know, weather like we had, it was just like that one um the one year um where we had um um uh uh the quarterback for the Texans, uh CJ Stroud.
SPEAKER_04:Stroud, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Uh he was our quarterback, and you know, the weather was bad, and they went out and they laid an egg up at Michigan, and then we found out later on that lo and behold, CJ had the flu. He had 103 degree temperature trying to play that game out there, and you know, there's always an X factor you gotta look for in this game. Uh, that's why they call it the game. Yes. And you know, whether it's the weather or you know, injuries or whatever, um, it's gonna be interesting to see.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, I think the the biggest decision is gonna be when they hit the running game. And if they can get a running game established and we get guys like Bo Jackson to to break a break a couple runs, I think it'll open it up. And without a doubt, uh just throwing the ball downfield is gonna be critical because they they did well with their backup receivers, but I really think that when you put the other two guys in there, uh they got to make a decision. Am I gonna double Jeremiah Smith or am I gonna just uh try to play it safe and see what I can do with uh Cornell Tate on the other side? And I and I I just don't see how you leave either one of those guys on single coverage.
SPEAKER_01:Well, not only that is you're talking about probably one of the strongest tight end rooms for Ohio State that we've had in recent memory. Ohio State has had some fabulous tight ends, and you can see that because they're still playing in the NFL. They've played in the NFL for years and years, but you know, um the tight ends that we have, I think, are gonna be a problem for Michigan. Um, I you know, there's uh those guys are just there's a couple that um, you know, I think are gonna be a major part of the game plan um coming up. And uh to me, you know, defensively, we have to have a spy. Uh after watching Michigan the past, you know, I've watched Michigan several times this year. And the thing that seems to bail Michigan out is on that third and eight, third and eleven, is that Underwood will scramble or run after good penetration by the defense, and he will run for the first down. So I think if we can um have a spy in there, um, I think we'll be able to shut that down.
SPEAKER_04:And I think if there is a spy, that the guy that's gonna be on him is probably Sonny Stiles.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_04:And you know, that there these guys have so much to uh to play for. The probably the biggest thing I think about is guys get so hyped up to play that they uh they almost need to be under control a little bit and not get uh too overhyped. But but what Underwood's gonna run into and I think is gonna really mess him up is Matt Patricia is gonna confuse the hell out of him. And that is going to be so uh critical to this game. Him uh just showing so many different types of looks and defenses that uh that's gotta be critical. And and if you can get you know Caden Curry on the outside and some penetration in the middle, let the DBs do their thing, I think we got a chance to have a really good outcome in the end.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I'm totally with you on that, Kenny. And and and I think you're exactly right. I think you know, we are healthy, uh, we're getting there. I think the two wide receivers are going to play. The question that I have too is, you know, safety-wise, is Lorenzo Styles Jr. going to be able to suit up and play um as well. So, you know, that's that's the other thing. I mean, Ryan Day and and I think you're exactly right with Matt Patricia changing things up. They looked so vanilla last week. Uh uh you know, against uh against uh Rutgers that it was like wow, okay, they they did not tip their hands, they didn't show anything, which leads me to believe the past several weeks, Kenny, they've been putting in a package for this game. And it's gonna be it's gonna be fun to see. Like I said, the X factor is gonna be the weather. Um, but you know, they're changing things up. Uh speaking of changing things up, I just heard yesterday uh that they were gonna fly. Um and they're gonna fly into Detroit and bus over to uh Ann Arbor. And you know, it's just that I think it's that different mindset that Ryan Day has that we saw at the beginning of the playoffs against Tennessee last year. It was just um after that, you know, and we mentioned this last week on the SOB, how you know, we thought that you know, that Michigan loss kind of vaulted us into the national championship. Yeah, you know, and what we meant by that was basically it forced us to focus. You know, it woke up the sleeping bear, the Ohio State Buckeyes, and no one could touch us in that playoffs, Kenny. I mean, it was it was just unbelievably awesome to watch.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:So, you know, changing things up, uh, the weather, the injury status with Lorenzo, you know, that and our wide receiver core, but um, you know, I just want to throw out some stats right now.
SPEAKER_04:Let's hear him.
SPEAKER_01:Justin's saying 27 TDs, only four interceptions. Bo has 835 yards, five TDs, and he's rolling at a 6.5 yards per carry clip. That's amazing.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Donaldson, on the other hand, 286 yards, and he's more of a goal line third down back, 38 yards, um, or 3.8 yards per carry. 10 TDs. So between Bo and Donaldson, that's 15 rushing TDs that we have there. And then you get the Smith-Tate duo. Smith's up to 69 receptions, 902 yards. It looks like he's going to go well over a thousand yards, 10 TDs. And you mix that with Tate, who's played sparingly here at the end, but he's got 39 receptions and 711 yards. So he's a big play receiver, and he has seven TDs. So we have tons of weapons that we can throw out, and we called this on the SOB, Kenny, in week two or three about how West, Isaiah West, is coming up through and asserting himself into being a nice alternative to Bo and Donaldson as well. And that's going to be fun to watch.
SPEAKER_04:And you know, you mentioned Donaldson the past couple weeks, he's hardly even getting on the field because people's Isaiah West and obviously Bo Jackson's on their job. So their practices have got to be amazing because they must really, really have to compete as hard as they can because they're having a hard time getting on the field. So you must have to be at the top of your game every single day. And and that's what competition does with with teams like this. They that's why they're so good. They're they're practic the team practicing against themselves is probably tougher than what they see when it comes game time. So it'll be it'll be a lot of fun to uh to watch. I I needed to ask you this one. If you could throw out a final score for this game, what would it be?
SPEAKER_01:You know, I was thinking about this for days, Kenny, um, honestly. And um I'm thinking it's gonna be more of a 30 30 to 17 game. Um I think we're gonna uh have a nice lead, but at the same time, you know, they'll be present. Um, you know, they're a good football team, they're a top 25 uh football team. Um they're playing for their uh they're playing for their playoff lives here. So it's gonna be it's gonna be an interesting game. Um it's I don't I uh it'd be nice to see a blowout in there, but you know, I think they're gonna keep it relatively close. I just don't I just think at the end of the day it's gonna come down to personnel. And um, you know, we're gonna we basically got the athletes to be able to cover that in all phases, special teams, defense and offense. So I think our defense is really gonna play a key.
SPEAKER_04:I would have to say that you know, there's a there's a part of me that thinks, you know, it's the Michigan game. So I, you know, I'd probably want to go 35-20 35-17, but there's a part of me that thinks that this whole entire season, Ryan Day has not ran it up. And if he gets an opportunity, I can see him just pouring it on him, and I would not be surprised at all.
SPEAKER_01:100%. I mean, what what Woody Hayes say back in the day, you know, the reason he couldn't go he went for two, and somebody said why? And he said, because he couldn't couldn't go for three.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And yeah, I think that's I think you're right on, spot on when you say that.
SPEAKER_04:And you know, after each one of these games the past couple years, the I just noticed that Sharone Moore, the you know, a lot of coaches when the game's over, it's you know, intense, it's everything, huge crowds, you know, gathering on the field. But he just he just rubs me the wrong way. He just doesn't seem as professional. And you know, it just I d I don't know. And I I really think that uh that's really bothered Ryan Day over the years. So hopefully uh, you know, they can get get things done. That's at least I I think that that's what the all the experts across the country are gonna say.
SPEAKER_01:But you listen to Nick Saban, and Nick Saban is you know a big proponent of hey, it doesn't matter what you do in this Michigan game as long as you win the national championship, period. And you know, being from Ohio, Nick Saban coasted Ohio, uh Ohio State, and you know, you know how important it is to the people of Ohio. Um and you know, it just it doesn't, even though we're 16 and 5 over the past 21 years, I think it is, 16 and 6, 16 and 7, something along those lines. Um, you know, it still doesn't rub us uh the right way when you know you're talking the last uh you know, the last several years, what has transpired.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, definitely. Well, let's uh let's um move to the the next topic, which is uh one that I think is gonna be interesting here on Thanksgiving Day and the potential the Joe Burrow returning. And I I I know you've really followed him really close. My biggest concern with that is if he comes back, is how much rust is gonna be there? And can the D slow down Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry?
SPEAKER_01:Um, I think uh honestly the past couple weeks our defense have been playing uh has been playing a lot better. Um if you'd look, uh New England really struggled the first half. Drake May, I mean, and what that was is um you know, Al Golden finally discovered, hey, you know, we need to mix up this defense, you know, and maybe play more of his own, or you know, rather than a man-to-man situation, and it kind of threw Drake May for a loop. Well, you know, uh great coach.
SPEAKER_03:Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And the adjustments they made at halftime, and you look at the gaping holes that were wide open over the middle of the field uh with their tight ends, their tight ends were just running uncovered.
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:Um, and every tight end that we play, um, that's why Mark Andrews uh always has a huge game against the Bengals. Tell us is you know, he runs basically wild, uh wide open um over the middle of the field. So if we don't make an adjustment covering the tight ends, um we usually do a very good job when it comes to uh uh Derrick Henry. Uh don't let him run crazy on us. Um, whatever that reason is, I don't know. But uh for some reason, Lamar Jackson, uh we just let him scramble around in the backfield back there, and then you know, lo and behold, a receiver breaks open and then it breaks our back on third and 15. And um, you know, if we can stay out of that situation, I think we'll be okay. Um, Joe Burrow, you know, uh let's face it, I mean, he came on, you know, earlier this week and said, Hey, you want to know why I'm playing? Because I'm a football player. And football players play. And I don't care what our record is, um, you know, we're gonna play. And some of the oddest things I've heard this week on some of these sports shows were the Bengals are not out of this. If we can somehow, uh, we always played well against Buffalo. Um, but if we can, and Buffalo's not playing the greatest right now.
SPEAKER_00:No.
SPEAKER_01:Um, but if we can somehow win this game and uh play well against Buffalo, um, and then play, we have to turn right around again and play the Ravens at home, can he? So if we can um you know do that and somehow our last three games are manageable to win, um, then there is a chance out there to win our division because Pittsburgh and Baltimore have not played uh uh they haven't played at all this year either.
SPEAKER_04:Right. And you look at at Pittsburgh now, I think Aaron Rodgers with his injury and and yeah, they got Mason Rudolph as the backup. And you know, it's it's wide open, and and it's all gonna come down to who has the least amount of injuries.
SPEAKER_01:Yes.
SPEAKER_04:Look at the Philadelphia Eagles, they they're having to play third third string defensive backs against Dallas, and that's why they lost. So it it's gonna be fun to watch. And the you know, the the energy that Joe Burrow is gonna bring to that team is gonna be crazy because you know he's gonna he's gonna be like T and uh, you know, the guys, I'm gonna get the ball to you, and you guys got to make things happen. And you know, it's gonna be uh I think it's got the potential to be a a high-scoring game.
SPEAKER_01:You know, I just don't know if T's T's uh T's probably gonna be out with his concussion uh that he had last week. And then um I think Jamar Chase has got such a chip on his shoulder after what transpired, that whole situation with the spitting incident and being goaded into you know into that. And I think he's just so upset with himself that he let down his team and the city of Cincinnati. I mean, he came out with that apology. Pittsburgh fans didn't really think the apology was good because uh they it wasn't directed towards um uh Ramsey. Uh Ramsey wasn't mentioned in that, but he did apologize to the Pittsburgh organization, and I think he's gonna come out and have a chip on his shoulder or something to say. And you know, the Bengals aren't healthy, but when you know, when has the Bengals ever been healthy? I mean you know, they still seem to come out and do it, and I think some of these these younger players, I mean, they're playing for their their NFL uh career.
SPEAKER_04:You know, I when I when I saw that spitting incident you know, we you know, we as coaches have been on the field and we we've had players do things and I can't imagine I can't imagine the level of trash talking that goes on in the NFL and for him to do that something really must have been said that was very personal to him because he's never done it before, you know, and that's that's the thing. But I mean we'll never know. I mean, they'll probably never come out and say what it was, but you know, it just uh you you hate to see that happen, but you know that they're always separating guys every NFL game because there's a lot of talking going.
SPEAKER_01:Well, and and and Jamar Chase is right up there with the bust of them as far as them. Okay. And I mean, you talk about somebody that's gonna let you know that you can't cover me or you know, I got the best of you on that play. I mean, Jamar Chase is gonna do it. It all stems back, Kenny, to, you know, it's just Pittsburgh in general. I mean, yeah. Pittsburgh and and Cincinnati are just you know, it it's so volatile. I mean, that that whole it goes back to, you know, Super Bowl run we had with Carson Palmer where he got cheap shot in his knee, and you know, it basically, you know, changed his career and it changed the direction of the Bengals, in my opinion, that one play.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And, you know, it it goes back to Vontez Burfect, where Vontez Burfeck and you know, Heinz Ward and Um, you know, Minka Fitzpatrick and you know, Joey Porter Jr. and you know, all these players, I mean, they play tough, you know, they really do. And, you know, I just don't see Pittsburgh playing that way against any other team, maybe the Browns. Um, but I just don't see him playing that way. I mean, even uh with Baltimore, there's like a respect there between both teams. You know, it's not like a dirty fight fest like you see with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati nonstop.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah. Well, you know, the thing is, is what makes that AFC North so good is you know, for the fan that's watching the game, they that's their entertainment. They they love the how hard they go at each other and it turns into pushing and shoving and who knows what else. But you know, that that's what they're out. That's what it's all about for the fan. They want to see that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_01:Kenny, I I I would if I wasn't a Bengals fan, I would love to watch the Bengals every week. Just for the simple fact that you're gonna see something that is totally crazy. And it's just like the Browns, you know, you're gonna see something that's totally crazy, and it's entertainment. It is really entertainment. Um, you know, for the for the typical NFL fan out there. I mean, if you if you really want to wide, you know, it's like watching a UFC fight. I mean, it's like, man, these guys are, you know, they're gonna go at each other, and you just don't know what's gonna happen one place to the next.
SPEAKER_04:Yes. Well, let's throw this one out there. Give me a final score on this one. What do you think is gonna happen?
SPEAKER_01:Um, I I'm like you, Kenny. I think it's it's it's real early for Burrow. Um, but you know, Joe, Joe's tired of being hurt. He's tired of uh sitting on the sidelines, he's tired of holding up in his mansion there across the river. And you know, I think he's gonna he's gonna do things that's you know, short, short little jabs here and there, you know, a couple step drops, get rid of it. Um if the line gives him time, he's gonna decimate that Baltimore secondary. Um if they don't give him time, it could turn ugly real quick. Um I really like this Chase Brown kid. I mean, I think he's a great, great player, very versatile. Um, I think we're really hurting not to have Sam giant uh Sam Jree P Rine uh healthy in NMX because he's just an awesome all-purpose back. So, you know, to me, um this game can go several ways. I'm thinking it's gonna be a uh something like a 33-27 game, uh, Baltimore. Um, you know, Baltimore gives up leads just like we do in the fourth quarter. Um, they've done that all year. They've been playing well lately, but um you know, I think it's gonna be a high scoring affair, somewhat closer than people think.
SPEAKER_04:Well, you mentioned earlier before that we we started recording about the uh problems that Cincinnati ran into just trying to get to Baltimore.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, they had their uh they sat on a layover on the um Cincinnati tarmac there. They sat for five hours. They had to deboard, get on another plane, they didn't get to their hotel until 1230 last night or this morning. And um uh, you know, it makes it tough. I mean, you're gonna sleep in and um get up and start moving around and hydrate and eat and uh you know they play a later game tonight, so um I think they'll be fine, but um, you know, the weather should be cold, a little windy, maybe a little rainy in Baltimore. Um so um, you know, it's gonna be one of those AFC North typical games in you know late November, early December.
SPEAKER_04:Well, I'm gonna go out on a limb here, and I'm gonna say just Burrow showing back up is gonna be the key here. And I got uh the Bengals winning uh 31-24.
SPEAKER_01:Nice.
SPEAKER_04:So let's move on to Cleveland Browns. Yes, they beat uh the Las Vegas Raiders 24-10. I really believe that this weekend in Cleveland it's gonna be the wildest the Browns stadium has been in a while. Just because Shadur Sanders is the starting quarterback and there's you know, he stepped in and did a pretty a decent job. And I really think that uh you know, the question will be is you know that having a whole entire week working with uh first team, if that's gonna make a difference for him. And you know, that you can count on Miles Garrett doing his job and that defense getting it done, but to me, it all comes down to the receivers because they're critical because Quinshawn Junkins is gonna get you know his probably 75 to 100 yards, the receivers have got to get open and get open quick to help Shador Sanders out.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, I totally agree. I mean, I you know, you're talking, you know, he's the first Browns rookie quarterback to win his debut since what 1995.
unknown:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:And, you know, that's saying something, I think. You know, I mean, the defense is a defense. I mean, you know, Miles Garrett's having a historic run, and he's up to like, what, 18 sacks now? And you know, they recorded 10 sacks last week and prompted Chip Kelly to get fired uh, you know, for the for the Raiders. And, you know, I a lot of people just, you know, from what I've been seeing around Cleveland, um, you know, people have been saying, hey, if we would have started Shadur from the beginning of the season, we would have a winning record right now. And I mean, that's might be true, to be honest with you. And you know, I mean, he was 11 of 20 for, you know, 210 and a touchdown interception. You know, the play on that naked boot that he had out, he threw off one leg and hit the guy in stride for like a 50-60 yard, you know, 52-yard pass to Isaiah Bond, I think it was. Um set up a touchdown. I mean, uh it was a 66 uh yard pass um uh to Dylan Samson. You know, my bad. But uh I just think, you know, he's he's that special guy that, you know, once he learns how to scramble and run, that he could be Just as not just as good, if not better, than Lamar Jackson, in my opinion. You know, the defense has that dominant pass rush, you know, it's uh uh Malik Collins, you know, Isaiah McGuire, all those guys pressure the quarterback just as long as, you know, just as well as Miles Garrett. So, you know, to me it's just the Browns have struggled with consistency and complimentary football. So, you know, I think once they start doing that, and let's face it, 49ers, um I mean, you come up here and playing this stuff, you're from San Francisco? I mean that's asking a lot, you know.
SPEAKER_04:Yeah, the weather's the weather's gonna be interesting, that's for sure. And uh, you know, I think that uh Stefanski's got to just uh open it up, in my opinion. And hopefully, hopefully that's what he'll do. And you know, if you know Shadow gets gets going and the crowd gets behind him, I mean who knows? It's a possibility he could be the quarterback of the future. But there is also a possibility that it could go wrong. So it's a it's a lot to a lot to think about. And uh, you know, hopefully getting a little time with the ones and you know, getting a chance to play, that's that's gotta mean the world to him.
SPEAKER_01:Well, and you know, you you say it mean the world to him too, and you know, here's something I heard too uh today that was kind of interesting to me was that you know, Dion, you know, came to watch him play, came to watch his son play, and he had to be put up in one of the Las Vegas Raiders uh suites, one of the uh suite owners there said, Hey, you can come watch it in my box. Um, because you know the Browns didn't didn't have a spot for him uh to watch that game. So yeah, it's one of those things is are you gonna take care of this kid or not?
SPEAKER_03:Yeah.
SPEAKER_01:You know, uh are you gonna make a decision or not? Are you gonna draft a quarterback or not? You know, uh another one. So, you know, we know who's out there. I mean, there's several qualified candidates that are out there, but you know, are you gonna make a commitment to this kid? And I think that's what the Browns lack is that commitment to their quarterback.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, and once they they rid themselves of Deshaun Watson, I think a lot of different things can happen for the good. And you know, like you said, it's it's NFL and and Cincinnati's similar to Cleveland. You know, they just don't take care of their players. You know, their facilities are the facilities, the the playing facilities are good, but it's where they practice, the food they get, all those kinds of things. That's that's gotta be the upgrade because it's it you gotta really take care of those players because that's what's gonna get those players to show up and want to be a part of that team.
SPEAKER_01:So Well, I I agree with you on that. I saw a report uh after the Pittsburgh game, uh, where the uh Pittsburgh players were complaining about the visiting locker room in Cincinnati. You know, and on the flip side of that, I'm like, so what? Yeah, you know, you guys are catered to everything else. You know, my God, I hope you're gonna be okay. I hope you're gonna make it through this game okay. You know, and um yeah, that's one of those things where you know everybody's trying to outdo one another with these stadiums. Uh Cleveland's got their own situation going. Cincinnati has um, you know, their situation going with the county um and trying to do their upgrades too as well. So it's yeah, I think you're right. It's trying to it's trying to put their best foot forward and making places for these players that they want to play, um, you know, and not be one of these cheap lower end franchises out there that you know people show up for a paycheck the last two or three years of their career.
SPEAKER_04:Yes. Well, let's just throw it out there. What do you think the final score is going to be in this one?
SPEAKER_01:Well, I um I like the Browns in this one. Um I like it in a low-scoring affair. You know, I don't think uh McCaffrey's gonna run wild, um, to be honest with you. So, you know, I like the Browns in this one. I'll say um I'll say 2017 on this one.
SPEAKER_04:I want I want the Browns to win, but I think San Fran will just probably get it done in the end. And you know, I could see it ended up being like a 21-14 game. So let's move on to the uh things that we do here at the end. Who's your upset pick and who's your lock for the week?
SPEAKER_01:Well, I think my upset pick this week is gonna be Carolina at home over the Rams. Um, and I would I'd I'd want to take the 10.5 points that they're giving Carolina on this. I think Carolina is, you know, that they don't have a losing record. I mean, they're six and six, and they're playing the nine and two Rams, but you know, you're talking a far trip across the other coast, and you know, I like the ten and a half points with Carolina on this. Um, as far as my lock is concerned, um just thumbing down through here, um, I think my lock on this is gonna be Seattle over Minnesota.
SPEAKER_04:Yes, I my lock, I I looked at it and I thought the Chiefs minus three and a half over the Cowboys. Kansas City's gotta you know put it on them, I would think, because they the NFL wants Kansas City there in the end. Yeah. My upset, I got I'm gonna take a chance here just because the Eagles have had so many injuries, the Bears getting seven, so that would be my upset for this week.
SPEAKER_01:Wow. Yeah, I think we're on to something there, and we've been very, very good on our picks, to be honest with you, Kenny. I think if we would you know start betting some of our own picks, we might have made some other that would be that'd be fun.
SPEAKER_04:Well, Chris, it's uh it's Thanksgiving Day, and uh we're filming or recording here on Thanksgiving Day, and you're in uh Indiana, and I'm op I'm serious back here in Ohio. Um, you know, I I appreciate you taking the time to do this because you know, we want to kind of keep the keep the ball rolling, and it's a lot of fun to get a chance to get on here and talk, talk a little football with you.
SPEAKER_01:Well, you know, I I I get the chance to come see my twin grand uh twin grandgirls um that were born um not too long ago. And um, you know, it's just uh it's one of those things as a dad that you know you're just happy to see. And I'm up here in Colts Country and Indiana, you know, IU country, and sport my Bengals gear today. And um, you know, one thing too, I'm very thankful to, Kenny, is you know, you've had some health issues um this past week. I know you were up at the Cleveland Clinic um getting the procedure done for you, and you know, I know you're not feeling 100% uh this week, but um that's why we're SOBs. Uh we're uh you know, we've got that that that mentality, and you know, nothing's gonna keep us from doing our podcast. And you know, I just appreciate that you're still um you're still plugging along after after the procedure that you had.
SPEAKER_04:Yes. Well, I think that's a wrap for this week. I'm Ken Carpenter.
SPEAKER_01:I'm Chris Usman.
SPEAKER_04:Thanks for checking out the SOB, Scarlet, Orange, and Brown.
SPEAKER_01:SOB.
