Hello, hello. Welcome to the Fruitful Feminine. I'm Alexis. I'm so excited to have you. We are going to get straight into this episode because it is a juicy one. It is a very, very important impact session today. We're talking about how to know if a business idea is from God. Not just a business idea, but an idea in general. When I say business, a business could be your marriage, it can be your family, your kids, your passion project, your mission. And we're going to be talking about how to truly know if it's from God. How to know what it is to even create. What to do when you're feeling stuck. And a few more bonus questions, such as finances, how to know where to go when things feel like they're not working out. We're gonna get into all of it. So welcome, welcome. If this is your first episode, I'm so happy that you are here. This is the space where we talk all things Jesus and femininity. I am a feminine energy coach. It is my dream job, and I'm so happy to be with you here also on this podcast. So welcome back to my girls who have been with me for a while. When thinking about what to make for today's video, this idea came to me. How to know if a business idea is from God. And I thought, oh, I don't know. Will the girls want to hear that? Maybe a lot of them won't want to talk about business. But then I go into my Instagram stories where I had asked a while ago, ladies, what do you want to see on this podcast? And do you know the first thing that I see is a question that says, How to know if a business idea is from God? That's the thing about God is He will make things clear to us, right? So shout out to whoever asked that question. This is especially for you, okay? So I'm gonna give a quick backstory to my own business and how I knew what to create, how I knew that it was a yes from God. But the episode is going to be broken into three parts. After that, we're going to do a little bit of reading. Actually, not a little bit, we're going to be doing a lot of reading, but I promise it is going to be such a juicy, juicy, good story. I've read this story before. It's one of my favorites in the Bible. And then we'll move into part two. I'm going to break down three ways to know when it's a yes from God. Things that you'll see, things that will start to happen in your life. And then part three, we'll move into what's next. What about when you're feeling stuck? What about charging prices and the finances of things? So, starting with part one, many of you know my story, and many of you may not. I'll give a quick summary of how this happened. And one thing I will say before that is the only business that I have to this day is the one that God told me yes to. The rest I didn't ask him. And maybe that's why I don't have them anymore. But the only one that I have, the feminine glow, it's my coaching business, is the only one that I ever went to God and said, Is this from you? And is it a yes? And he said yes. And fast forward four years later, which I cannot believe it's been four years, here we are. And it is my dream, dream business. It's how I've met many of you. Well, how that even happened is I never thought that I would be a coach. It was never something that was even on my radar. I always knew growing up that I wanted to have control of my finances and my time. So I always thought, yeah, I'll have my own business one day. But I thought it would be something makeup related, something just not coaching for sure. I was working at a restaurant at this time. I had just gotten my degree in marketing, and I did not like it. Marketing was not for me. I thought, alright, what if I quit this job? What if I start working in a restaurant? I can still make an income, but I can do something that I actually like, which is talking about feminine energy. I had been studying it during college and I thought, this has changed my life. I'm going to start sharing TikToks about it. And so I quit the marketing job, replaced that with making TikToks during the day, and then I would go and work in a restaurant at night. Then one day I'm thinking, okay, I love making TikToks. I love teaching about feminine energy. I love the results that these women are having and that they're sharing with me. And I don't love working in this restaurant. God. Hey there. I want to quit my job, but I'm scared. You know I love stability. I don't know where I'm going to make a paycheck. I am scared to trust in an app that I said I would never even use. That's a silly dancing app. Can I quit my job? And I had my work uniform on. I was sitting at my desk living in my mom's house at the time. It's a hot summer day in Las Vegas. My Las Vegas girls and desert girls, I'm sorry because you're probably starved for a rain. That's what was that's what I was feeling at this point when I asked God this next question. God, so that I know that it's really from you. If it is okay for me to quit my job and to go all in on teaching about feminine energy and becoming a coach, please make it rain today. So I'm sitting at my desk. There is not a cloud in the sky, which is why I ask this, because I'm someone who needs certainty. Ten minutes later, I hear drops of water on my window. I start crying. I whip out my phone, I take a picture of the rain. I'm like, I'm gonna remember this day forever. Still have the picture, by the way. It was such a beautiful day. And I drive to work that day, so excited. I get there, I tell my boss that I'm putting in my two weeks. I had wonderful bosses, and that day I quit my job and I started my business. Four years later, it is my absolute dream business, has changed so many lives, has caused so many new businesses to be born around the world. And I feel so lucky and so grateful. However, there were steps to even leading me to ask God, is this a yes? There were steps to even start creating the TikToks, to know how to make videos and to understand some of the gifts that God has given and put those into effect. And so next we're going to read a story that will make that clear so that you can see what it is that God is calling you to do, how that journey is probably going to go, because if you've read the Bible, you know there's a lot of patterns in there. And just to know that your creation, whether it's a business, whether it's a family, whether it's a project that you work on, it has it will have a huge ripple effect on the generations of your family and on the world. And we'll come back to that point specifically at the end. Alright, moving into the reading part. We're gonna be doing a bit of reading in this next part. So just get cozy, get a good drink. Here we go. We're in Genesis. This is Genesis Genesis. I'm trying to read about Joseph, so you'll see this confusion in a second. We're in Genesis 37, starting with verse 1, and this is the story of Joseph. I just I love the story. I could read it every day. Genesis 37. So Jacob settled again in the land of Canaan where his father had lived as a foreigner. That first part right there, by the way, is going to be extremely, extremely important. We've never talked about it on the podcast because I literally just got this revelation this morning. We'll come back to this at the end. So, Jacob settled again in the land of Canaan where his father had lived as a foreigner. Jacob's father was Isaac, Isaac's father was Abraham. Verse 2, this is the account of Jacob and his family. When Joseph was 17 years old, he often tended his father's flocks. He worked for his half-brothers, the sons of his father's wives, Bilhah and Zilpah. But Joseph reported to his father some of the bad things his brothers were doing. Jacob loved Joseph more than any of his other children, because Joseph had been born to him in his old age. So one day Jacob had a special gift made for Joseph, a beautiful robe. But his brothers hated Joseph because their father loved him more than the rest of them. They couldn't say a kind word to him. One night Joseph had a dream, and when he told his brothers about it, they hated him more than ever. Listen to this dream, he said. We were out in the field tying up bundles of grain. Suddenly my bundle stood up, and your bundles all gathered around and bowed low before mine. His brothers responded, So you think you will be our king, do you? Do you actually think you will reign over us? And they hated him all the more because of his dreams and the way he talked about them. Soon Joseph had another dream, and again he told his brothers about it. Listen, I have had another dream, he said. The sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before me. Side note, Joseph had eleven brothers. This time he told the dream to his father as well as his brothers, but his father scolded him. What kind of dream is that? He asked. Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow to the ground before you? But while his brothers were jealous of Joseph, his father wondered what the dreams meant. We'll pause there for one second. What I want to point out here is that when it comes to your business or your calling, you will have a unique gift that is assigned to it. You will have some sort of natural talent that not everyone has, that you can't pinpoint where it came from, but it gives you this supernatural ability. And for Joseph, it was his dreams. Now moving on to 37, this is verse 18. When Joseph's brothers okay, actually, let me summarize something real quick. So Joseph and his brothers at the time. Joseph's brothers, they're out in the field, and what's about to happen is their jealousy and their rage against Joseph for having this unique talent, which you may be resonating with, by the way, is maybe people have been jealous, maybe they've even made fun of a of a gift or a unique talent that you've had. That's what is about to happen with Joseph. So verse 18, when Joseph's brothers saw him coming, they recognized him in the distance. As he approached, they made plans to kill him. Here comes the dreamer, they said. Come on, let's kill him and throw him into one of these cisterns. We can tell our father a wild animal has eaten him. Then we'll see what becomes of his dreams. But when Reuben heard of their scheme, he came to Joseph's rescue. Let's not kill him, he said. Why should we shed any blood? Let's just throw him into this empty cistern here in the wilderness. Then he'll die without our laying a hand on him. Reuben was secretly planning to rescue Joseph and return him to his father. So when Joseph arrived, his brothers ripped off the beautiful robe he was wearing. Then they grabbed him and threw him into the cistern. Now the cistern was empty, there was no water in it. Then, just as they were sitting down to eat, they looked up and saw a caravan of camels in the distance coming toward them. It was a group of Ishmaelite traders taking a load of gum, balm, and aromatic resin from Gilead down to Egypt. Okay, that sentence right there, it was a group of Ishmaelite traders. That is going to be very important in the story, too. A side note about who the Ishmaelite traders are. If you go back to the story of Abraham in Genesis, Abraham, he was very, very close with God. And God told Abraham, look up into the stars. All of the stars that you see, count them. This is how many descendants I will give to you. At this time, Abraham didn't have any children, but God was making a promise, and God is a promise keeper. And so Abraham goes, Okay, God, I trust you. You say that you have all of these descendants. However, he did not fully believe God. And neither did his wife, Sarah. And so Sarah and Abraham, they're both in their old age, and Sarah, she's getting restless. She's going, We're supposed to have a kid, we don't have any children, what's wrong with us? And so she has Abraham sleep with her servant Hagar. Anytime we try to bend things in our own timing, in our own will, there's going to be consequences, not just for us, but for generations. My mom would always tell me, sin doesn't happen in a vacuum. When you sin or when you disobey God, you don't trust God, it doesn't just impact you, it impacts so many people around you. And so Abraham sleeps with Sarah's servant Hagar. They have a son, the son's name is Ishmael. Then the son that God promised to give Abraham, Isaac, is born to Sarah after this happens. However, Ishmael and Isaac have constant tension as half-brothers. Ishmael goes on to be the father of the nation of Islam. Isaac goes on to be the father of the Jewish nation, which, as you know, are still at war today. And now we can see that this group of Ishmaelite traders here in Genesis, they're going, they're going by, and Joseph's family, who uh descends from Isaac and Abraham, Joseph is about to be sold into the hands of the enemy of these Ishmaelite traders who are on their way to Egypt. So we'll we'll keep on reading. Judah said to the brothers, What will we gain by killing our brother? We'd have to cover up the crime. Instead of hurting him, let's sell him to those Ishmaelite traitors. After all, he is our brother, our own flesh and blood. And his brothers agreed. So when the Ishmaelites, who were Midianite traitors, came by, Joseph's brothers pulled him out of the cistern and sold him to them for twenty pieces of silver, and the traitors took him to Egypt. We'll pause here for one moment. So can you imagine, first of all, your family selling you into slavery because they're jealous? No, that would not be good. Uh one note here is that when it comes to your journey, especially around your business that you build, there will be unexpected challenges that come up. That may look like trauma, it may look like closed doors, it may look like something that you go, God, why did you let this happen to me? And God gave Joseph the ability to have these dreams, but the dreams led him to being sold into slavery. But what's special about Joseph, he never lost his faith. And this is just the beginning of his challenges. He never once said, God, what are you doing? Why have you abandoned me? Next part, Genesis 39. So, when Joseph was taken to Egypt by the Ishmaelite traders, he was purchased by Potiphar, an Egyptian officer. Potiphar was captain of the guard for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The Lord was with Joseph, so he succeeded in everything he did as he served in the home of his Egyptian master. You'll want to remember that part. The Lord was with Joseph. He succeeded in everything he did. Potiphar noticed this and realized that the Lord was with Joseph, giving him success in everything he did. This pleased Potiphar, so he soon made Joseph his personal attendant. I'm going to summarize this next part here. What happens is absolutely crazy and will maybe make you go, oh, that's not fair. Well, Potiphar's wife was living in the house. Potiphar, he's out working, he's doing his business, and Joseph is managing his house. Because Joseph's character is so good, and because God is giving him favor, he goes from being a servant to being the manager of the household, which was a huge leap. Well, Joseph was described as being very attractive to Potiphar's wife. And so Potiphar's wife, led with lust, goes after Joseph and says, I want you to sleep with me. Come on, come on, let's sleep together. And Joseph, he is a man of integrity, goes, No. First of all, I'm not going to dishonor my God by committing adultery. And second of all, I respect Potiphar. This this is your husband, and I respect his household. And so he refuses Potiphar's wife. Potiphar's wife gets upset and she's chasing after him. She grabs onto his cloak and Joseph is running away. The cloak rips and she's holding on to a little piece of it. And she goes, Joseph tried to sleep with me. He tried to attack me and tells everyone that he came onto her. This lie gets Joseph ended up in prison. Potiphar throws him into Pharaoh's prison. So we're gonna pick up at verse 19 now. Um actually no. Okay, so I just summarized this, but we're gonna read what I just summarized because there's one important detail. So verse 19 of 39, Potiphar was furious when he heard his wife's story about how Joseph had treated her. So he took Joseph and threw him into the prison where the king's prisoners were held, and there he remained. But the Lord was with Joseph in the prison and showed him his faithful love. And the Lord made Joseph a favorite with the prison warden. Before long, the warden put Joseph in charge of all the other prisoners and over everything that happened in the prison. The warden had no more words because Joseph took care of everything. The Lord was with him and caused him and caused everything he did to succeed. Then what happens is two very important men come into the prison. One is the cupbearer for the king, and the other is the baker for the king. I'm gonna summarize what's going to happen here. So they both have dreams and they can't figure out what they mean. Joseph comes along and tells them exactly what the dreams mean. The baker, he had a dream. Uh I don't remember exactly what the dream was, but Joseph pretty much tells him, Oh yeah, Pharaoh's gonna kill you. Bad day for the baker. However, for the cupbearer, uh, the cupbearer has a dream, and uh he comes to Pharaoh and or he comes to Joseph, and Joseph tells him, uh, the three branches in your dream represent three days. Within three days, Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as the chief cutbearer. And exactly what Joseph says the dreams mean happened to both the baker and the cupbearer. The cutbearer is restored in the palace and the baker is killed. But Joseph says to the cutbearer, he says, Remember me when you get out of prison. Sadly, the cutbearer he has short-term memory loss. No, I'm just making that up. Uh, but he actually doesn't remember Joseph telling him, Remember me when you get out of prison. Like, help me, please give me a favor back. The cupbearer forgets all about Joseph. For two years, Joseph is sitting in prison. Can you imagine this waiting season? And for so many of us, we expect instant gratification, instant speed, not knowing that we're sitting in what feels like a prison, but it is actually our development. It is actually our season of growth. It's actually our classroom. It's where our gift and our talent is being sharpened, it's where our faith is being tested, it's where our intimacy and our trust in God is being deepened. It may look like prison, but it's actually exactly what we need to move forward with the business and the idea. This is now verse or chapter 41. It says, Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing on the bank of the Nile River. In his dream, he saw seven fat, healthy cows come up out of the river and begin grazing in the marsh grass. Then he saw seven more cows come up behind from the Nile, but these were scrawny and thin. These cows stood beside the fat cows on the riverbank. Then the scrawny, thin cows ate the seven healthy fat cows. At this point in the dream, Pharaoh woke up. And I also am just realizing something now. Joseph's gift and talent directly coordinates to problems and experiences that other people go through. And so, where God maybe assigned you to help people learn to public speak, there is someone that needs to be on stage and speak. There's someone that needs to be at a job where they speak in front of a room, and you have the gift and the talent that matches with exactly their need. So Pharaoh is given this dream. Now he has. Has this need. Pharaoh is freaked out. He tells everyone in the palace, he goes, get me the top sorcerers, get me the top uh the most intelligent people, get me. I know he didn't say this, but this is just my own language, get me the most uh conscious, healed person that exists in the world to come and interpret my dream for me. No one can interpret Pharaoh's dream. And all of a sudden, the cupbearer remembers oh yeah, there was a guy in prison two years ago who, when I told him my dream, he was able to interpret it exactly what happened. And so this is what he says. The cupbearer says, There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told each of us what our dreams meant, and everything happened just as he predicted. I was restored to my position as cupbearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole. Pharaoh sent for Joseph at once, and he was quickly brought from the prison. After he shaved and changed his clothes, he went in and stood before Pharaoh. One thing to point out, God is the God of suddenly. It may feel like nothing is moving, and then suddenly there is a shift. This is exactly what it felt like in my business. So much was going wrong in my life, so much even felt stagnant, and suddenly it felt like there was a shift. It felt like life changed so quick. And I promise you, the challenge or the rough season, the waiting season that you're in, it will be nothing compared to the prosperity that God will give you later. Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, this is picking up verse 15. I had a dream last night, and no one here can tell me what it means. But I have heard that when you hear about a dream, you can interpret it. I love Joseph. He goes, It's beyond my power to do this, Joseph replied, but God can tell you what it means and set you at ease. I also think this is why God did not put Joseph in front of Pharaoh at 17 years old as the story started off, because Joseph may have said, Yeah, I have this ability to read dreams, rather than God gave me this ability to read dreams. It's not me, it's God. And sometimes that's why we're still in a waiting season, because we think it is all on us. But the problem is, if we are the full one responsible for it, when things start to not work out, we go, okay, it's the end of the world. Or when we don't know what to do, we go inward to ourself rather than upward to God. And so now Joseph is standing in front of Pharaoh, and what he tells Pharaoh is God is telling Pharaoh in advance what he is about to do. The seven healthy cows and the seven uh healthy grains of head, that's another dream that Pharaoh had. I just didn't read about it. Both of these, the healthy cows and the healthy grain, they represent seven years of prosperity. The seven thin scrawny cows that came up later, and the seven thin heads of grain withered by the east wind represent seven years of famine. This will happen just as I've described it for God, for God has revealed to Pharaoh in advance what he is about to do. The next seven years will be a period of great prosperity throughout the land of Egypt. But afterward, there will be seven years of famine so great that all the prosperity will be forgotten in Egypt. So now Pharaoh goes, Okay, let's start getting everything together. We believe this man, we are going to prepare for the famine. It says in verse 37, Joseph's suggestions were well received by Pharaoh and his officials. So Pharaoh asked his officials, Can we find anyone else like this man, so obviously filled with the Spirit of God? Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, Since God has revealed the meaning of the dreams to you, clearly no one else is as intelligent or wise as you are. You will be in charge of my court, and all my people will take orders from you. Only I, sitting on my throne, will have a rank higher than yours. Pharaoh said to Joseph, I hereby put you in charge of the entire land of Egypt. Then Pharaoh removed his signet ring from his hand and placed it on Joseph's finger. Just powerful. Joseph goes from being bullied by his brothers, being sold into slavery, working as a servant, being thrown into prison, to being the most powerful person in Egypt besides Pharaoh. And Pharaoh didn't say, you'll be the most important besides me. He said, You'll be the most important besides me when I'm sitting on my throne. He trusted Joseph so much that when Pharaoh is busy or he's absent, Joseph is still in charge. That is how God moves. So what happens next is exactly what Joseph said. The famine, or no, they have seven healthy years. There's great prosperity in the land, Egypt grows very powerful. But during this time, Pharaoh is making sure that they're setting food aside. They're being wise with the abundance and the harvest God is giving them. And then seven years later, famine hits, and it hits so hard that even the surrounding nations are hit by the famine, including Joseph's family back in Canaan. I'm not gonna read the rest of the story. I've done that in a different episode. I don't remember which one. I'll just summarize what happens. Joseph's brothers come, they don't recognize Joseph. Uh, long story short, they have a family reunion and they go, Joseph, what are you doing ruling Egypt? We're so sorry that we traded you into slavery. We thought that you were dead. Joseph forgives them. Mmm, beautiful forgiveness. He forgives his family and he tells his family, Come and move here to Egypt with me. I will take care of you. And Pharaoh goes, Yeah, bring your family, we'll give them some land. Uh, we will take care of them. I love you, Joseph, therefore I love your family. So Joseph's family, they move from Canaan to Egypt. That'll be important. We'll come back to that at the end. All right, moving into part two now. How do you know if it's a yes from God? When it's a yes from God, there's favor. And when there's a yes from God, there's natural talent. We'll talk about favor first. What favor looks like in the modern day is things like success on social media. And I'm not saying favor means you will have success on social media, I'm saying this is something that may happen to you, is you will get a lot of views, a lot of open doors. Things will feel easy. Favor is God's special treat that he gives, not based on your behavior, but because he just wants to give you extra love. It's almost like giving a dog a treat. It's not because they're always being well behaved. Sometimes you you just love them, you want to spoil them. That's what God does for us with our favor. And maybe we'll do an episode on favor one day because there's certain things such as faithfulness and obedience that unlock more favor from God. However, coming back to this, you will see things like open doors, you will just be in the right place at the right time, it feels like. You will have people in your network that want to work with you or that know someone and introduce you to someone, you will find things in a book or online that you just needed to hear. Uh, you will have speed, you will have success, and so with your business, when it's a yes from God, most of the time you will see favor. The favor will not be immediately, though. For some people, yes, but not always. Look at Joseph. He had sprinkles of favor, even when he's working at Potiphar's house, to go from a servant to the head of the household, that was favor, to be in prison and to be a favorite of the warden, that was favor. God is protecting you as you're on the route to your to your destination, to your dream business. The other part here is when it's a yes from God, you will have natural talent. When people have asked you, how did you do this, or how did you know to create this? How did you know what ingredient to add to this meal? How did you know how to speak online like that? Things that come easily to you. Natural talent. Yes, there's still going to be work involved. For example, if let's say that you are a chef, or let's say that you are a masseuse, yes, you're still going to want to learn techniques to make the uh massage better or to make the meal better. But there's going to be things that don't come from a book. There's going to be things that don't come from a massage school that God gives you as a download and you just know how to do it. And it's often very difficult to explain because it's just natural. It's like if someone asks you, how do you breathe? Uh, I don't know, let me think for a second, how do I explain something that I just naturally do? Why is it a natural talent? It's because it's the Holy Spirit moving in you. When you accept Jesus into your life, you accept the Holy Spirit into your life. That comes with a gift. Spiritual gifts is a whole other conversation, but every single person that has the Holy Spirit in them has a spiritual gift. And that gift is used to glorify God and to help serve people. And what I find in my life, in my community life, usually that gift it helps us individually at first, but then we realize, oh, this was never about me. This was to serve. When I started making YouTube videos, YouTube, it took off, not in the beginning. We'll come back to that story, but uh when I actually started talking about feminine energy, not other random topics that I wasn't supposed to be on YouTube for, like curly hair, masks, and all that stuff. Um, when I started talking about feminine energy, the channel took off so quick. I think in six months we reached 100,000 subscribers. And on YouTube, that is pretty, pretty difficult. And I didn't have an answer for how that happened. I just said, God is good, and I I feel so lucky that this is happening. And I thought at first that YouTube was going to be for me. I thought YouTube's my project, I talk about what I want to, this channel is mine, like it's my it's my passion. No, the channel was never about me. It was about serving my community and helping women. It was about hearing what are the topics that they need to hear about and making videos for them. That's when my business really started to grow. Because I was using a gift that I felt naturally came to me, creating videos, speaking about something that I was so passionate about, healing and empowerment, and just being connected to your body again. But when I made it for others rather than me, that is when it felt like the talent just multiplied. One time I was teaching a retreat. This was the Dubai retreat that we had, and one of the girls she asked me, she goes, How do you know what to say when you don't have your notes? And I said, I don't. I have no idea what to say, but the words just come out. And she goes, uh like, is it something that you have to sit and think about? Like, how do you do it? And I said, I don't know. I don't think that it's me though. I think that it's the Holy Spirit. And I wasn't sure back then, but absolutely now I know that it was the Holy Spirit speaking. Because sometimes I would listen to videos back or I would listen to recordings, and I would have no memory of even saying that. For Joseph, he did not know how to interpret the dreams. When it came time for him to say what the dreams were about, God gave him the words. They just came out of his mouth. And if you read in the New Testament, I don't know which verse it is, but there's a part in the New Testament where it says, at the right time, the Holy Spirit will give you the words to say. You don't need to know the words. What stops a lot of us in our business is, well, I need to have the next step. Especially my type A girls, I really try to break them with this, my business students, is you will never have all the steps before you start your business. And if you are someone like me where you you need to know what the future looks like, ouch, that's going to hurt when God, when God starts to break that and go, Nope, I'm not going to give you the full map, I'm just giving you the next step. And you need to trust and move in faith. That's why I think it's so easy to have a business now because when I trust God, I focus on that rather than bringing the materials. When I think about creating YouTube videos every week, I'm not worried about am I going to run out of things to talk about? What am I going to say? That's never been a concern because God has always provided what to say. There's a quote that my friends and I always say, and if God provides, or if it's God's will, it's God's bill. And I'm not saying that that's actually true, it's more like a funny quote. But when it's God's will for you, he will give you the recipe for it. He's not going to say, okay, I want you to start the business and you figure out the rest. He is in it with you. But until you trust, he won't put those words in your mouth, he won't put the recipe in your mind, he won't put the right techniques in your hand for the massage. Shout out to all of my girls who are chiropractors and masseuses. Um, you will get that from God, from the Holy Spirit. A side note before we move on to the next one is you must be an available vessel. If Joseph was stressed, if he was swimming and drowning in fear and anxiety, his dreams would have looked very different. He probably would have been having nightmares, he would have been having stressful dreams, he would have been dreaming about his to-do list or his escape from prison. How many of you have dreamt about your to-do list? Speaking to myself, it's not fun. And when your thoughts drown out the Holy Spirit's thoughts, you're not going to hear the download. And that's the thing about God's voice is it is quiet. You will not hear it until you have peace within. And so, if the vessel, meaning if your body, your mind is not at peace, you will not be able to work for God. You need to work to clear out the fear and the anxiety and the intrusive thoughts and the overwhelming to-do list. You must clear that out first to be an available vessel. If I was about to speak on YouTube, and in fact, in 2024, when I had so much anxiety and I was like, oh, but what about negative comments? What do people think? I was so blocked from speaking on YouTube. I would have so much fear before I would sit down and live stream because I was not an available vessel. I was holding anxious thoughts and I needed to clear those out, which I talked about how to do in the spiritual warfare episode. And then suddenly all of the teachings came again. So that's one. When it's a yes from God, there's favor and natural talent. Number two, when it's a yes from God, there's a no. And I know that that one might hurt, but I'll explain. When I say no, it's a no somewhere else. What this will look like is two ways. Number one, you will see that there's a season of challenge, and this can feel like a huge no. So for Joseph, when I don't know if Joseph knew that his dreams would come to do anything for the kingdom of God, but he probably had a feeling that there's something more to this. When he was sold into slavery, and then he was a servant, and then he's in prison. That's a lot of no's back to back. God, can I live in peace? Can I uh get rescued out of this? God did not rescue him out of prison. He was not supposed to be rescued out of prison. And so sometimes it feels that we are in a challenging season, or it feels like we're in a season of no's. And that is because you are getting a yes somewhere else, but you just cannot see the yes right now. There's so many times where I asked God, God, why did you not say yes to giving me a stable, safe home growing up? I wish that I had this, God. I wish that I had this relationship with this parent. I wish that I didn't have to go through this. All of those no's led to the feminine glow, led to this dream business. Because God said no to having a stable childhood, he said yes to having a dream business. I never would even do the inner work or the studying of feminine energy. That passion for feminine energy never would have come if I had a safe, stable upbringing. Because I would have felt connected to my feminine already. I wouldn't have known that there was a disconnection. I wouldn't have known that other women are probably disconnected too. And a no can also look like other doors closing. When Joseph was forced by his brothers to leave his home, it probably felt like an abandonment. It probably felt very scary. And so for the door to his home to close, and by the way, why that's so important that Joseph had to leave his home in Canaan is because God told Abraham, this land where you're standing, which was Canaan, will belong to your descendants later. And we'll come back to that at the end. But it felt like a closed door. And sometimes closed doors, they are permanent closed doors, sometimes they're temporary closed doors, sometimes you're in a waiting season, whether it's for marriage or a baby, or for the idea to come or for the finances to come, it feels like that door has been closed a long time. But remember that God is a God of suddenly, and the door is a no now because God wants to give you a yes later. So, an example of a door closing in my own life. When I was in college, there was this part of my university called M School, and it was a special uh what's it called? It's like a special, not club, but extra program that you could join if you are a marketing major. And the M School, it's so I went to school in Los Angeles, and this school, it was a really big deal because you got to work with all of the top advertisers in LA. And if you work in marketing, LA in New York is where you want to be. And so pretty much everyone who got accepted into M school, they got a guaranteed internship right out of college working for a huge advertising agency. And I didn't want that, but my flesh, like my spirit didn't want that, but my flesh said, Yes, I want to make 200k a year getting out of college, I want to work for these huge advertisers, I want to work on billboard campaigns and all of this. And I applied for the school, I was so set on getting in, and I got rejected, and I remember crying, and also COVID had just happened, so there was so much that was happening at this time. I just remember crying, like, what am I gonna do after college? I'm not good enough for marketing, this door just closed. Thank God that it closed because to leave that kind of security and follow this business, I don't know if I would have done that. Same thing with when I was applying for jobs. I felt like I applied for hundreds of jobs when I was at my previous marketing job. I could not stand that job. I also was not being paid a lot, and I was desperately looking to get out of that job and have another one. I didn't really care what the job was. I was applying for so many marketing jobs, LinkedIn, indeed. I was working with recruiters. Every single job that I applied to, I got rejected from. It hurt so bad, and I'm so glad that it did. Because I also was not supposed to have a job. I was supposed to start this business. So sometimes God knows that we are not strong enough to close a door on our own, so he will force us to close it. Leaving stability has always been really hard for me. And again, I don't know if I would have left a job to start the business. Coming back to YouTube for a second, like I said, when I first started on YouTube, I was 13 or 14 and I was making videos about. Uh, like hair care, little just like fashion videos, hauls, that kind of stuff has always been very fun for me. It's been a passion project, but it was never soul aligned. I knew that I wanted to do something more than lifestyle. And so when I was on YouTube as a teenager, it never grew. I think I had like 500 subscribers for five years. I had one video that went viral how to put coconut oil in your hair. And yeah, maybe that was a little bit of favor, but I did not gain any subscribers from that. And so sometimes when you feel frustrated because you're not seeing growth, it may be because there's another door, another niche, another topic, another direction that you are supposed to be going in. And another example, this is for my girls who are maybe heartbroken or you've recently been out of a relationship. I had a relationship in college that ended and it hurt me really, really bad. But that's the one that even got me into feminine energy. Because I'm online, I'm like, how did this happen? Why did I attract this guy? And I discover feminine energy and I think, all right, here we go. I need to start focusing on inner work. Yesterday I was at a hair appointment and I'm talking to the hairstylist, and she has teenage daughters, and she told me that her daughters came up to her and said, Mom, I have an I have a new MU. And she asked me, she goes, Do you know what this means? I was like, I have no idea what the kids are saying nowadays. And she told me that an MU is a new term for mutual understanding. If anyone is in an MU right now, get out, okay? An MU, it's not even a situationship. It's to describe, we just have a mutual understanding that we like each other, we're seeing where things go, we're seeing other people still, uh, we're not gonna commit yet. Her daughter's 16, by the way, so I guess at this age that is okay. Uh, but she told me that I'm like, we're just going downwards from here. First, we've got situationships, now we have MU's. This is totally not anything to do with this episode, but I just thought that is hilarious. Next week's episode, how to get out of an MU. No, I'm just kidding. We're not even going to talk about that. You already know. Um, okay, so that's number two is when it's a yes from God, there's a no somewhere else. Number three, when it's a yes from God, you feel peace. And I'm very careful to say this one peace, you can still have peace and feel nervous. You can still have peace and not feel 100% confident. But you cannot have peace and anxiety. Because one is a fruit of the spirit, one is a weed from the enemy. Anxiety is not from God. And so a lot of advice about women in relationships who don't know if they should leave or stay is I hear people say, Well, do you have peace? And that's very difficult to base the answer on because peace is very easily confused. If you feel nervous, you will say, Oh, okay, I don't have peace. When I host retreats, I'm about to teach a course, I feel nervous. If I was basing peace on a hundred percent feeling soothed, I would say, okay, I don't have peace. I'm not meant to host this retreat, I'm not meant to teach this course. Peace and nerves can still coexist. So uh, why do I say when it's a yes from God, you feel peace? It's because when you feel peace, that means that there's an alignment with the word and the spirit. The word is the Bible, which is the truth. And when your business idea matches what the word of God says and it does not contradict the word, you will feel peace. When your when your business idea matches what the Holy Spirit living in you is telling you to do, you will feel peace. God will never tell you, start a tarot card business. Why? Because reading tarot cards, that is getting into a demonic spiritual realm. God very clearly tells us in Leviticus 19, 31, don't turn to mediums or seek out spiritors, for you will be defiled by them. God is never going to contradict his word. And his word says, don't even mess with mediums, psychics, anything in that realm. And so he's not going to tell you to start a business that does that. And also, you'll probably feel the Holy Spirit tell you, this is not right to do. And that's an extreme, extreme example. A small example for me is when I wanted to start a clothing brand. I, a lot of people don't know this, but I actually was going to start a swimsuit line before Solista wear. I had the domain name for the website done. I had samples of swimsuits, I had designed swimsuit pieces, I spent so much time and money creating the swimsuit brand, but I never felt peace with it. And what I mean by peace is I never felt, I never felt like it was a full yes. I always felt that something was a little bit off. I always felt that I was uh going away from what I was meant to be doing. I always just felt like something bad was coming. And I remember setting up the website and I was getting ready to launch it, and I just feel God say, no, this is not what you're supposed to be doing. Not because swimsuits are bad. I love swimsuits. But because I was supposed to be doing something else. I was supposed to be creating loungewear and robes and pajamas. Then when I thought about solista wear and creating robes, my whole body felt peace. Like, yes, this is it. It just became clear. And that's one thing with peace is when you start to ponder another decision and you feel excitement and you feel relief from the previous decision, that is a yes from God. And the reason why I think God told me to make robes is first of all, because the swimsuit market, I didn't realize this till later, every single creator, clothing designer makes swimsuits, but not every single influencer, creator, fashion designer makes robes. I saw that there's a gap in the market, and if I had gone into creating swimsuits rather than robes, I would never have been profitable in the business. I never would have seen success because there's so much competition in swimsuits. But robes, I didn't know this, but God was saying, Alexis, no one's making robes. Tell me one popular company that you can think of that specializes in robes and pajamas. And I could not name one. Maybe Victoria's Secret, but that's not even their focus. And so I saw, God, you saw something in the market that I didn't even see. And that's why I didn't feel peace with it, with making swimsuits. So when it's a yes from God, you feel peace. That's also why God will never tell you yes to an unequally yoked relationship. Number one, because the Holy Spirit does not want to be with someone who doesn't share the same spirit, which is being aligned to the Spirit. And number two, because being aligned to the Word, 2 Corinthians 6.14, it tells us, do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? So when it's a yes from God, it aligns with the word, it aligns with the Holy Spirit, and you will feel peace. What about though when you don't hear anything? What I would say here is be patient, wait for God to reveal something to you, ask him for a sign, ask him to speak to you and draw closer to him. The best, best, best way to get clarity on what to do is to fast and pray. And we have a whole episode on fasting and praying. When I asked God, what is my word for the year? I didn't hear my word for the year until March. So for 60 to 80 days, I'm like, God, I don't hear anything. What is my theme? What is my word for the year? And finally in March, I get it. And he tells me that my word for 2026 is planted. And you know what happens? The war happens in the United Arab Emirates. And I'm here, like, um, are you sure, God, that planted was the word that I had for this year? Planted in a country where there is now an active war zone. I'm not, I'm not so sure about this. And that season, the war is still active. Thank God it is not the way that it was back in March. And thank you all so much for your prayers, by the way. That season of being here during the war broke me, healed me, made me so much stronger in my faith. And it changed me. I needed to be here during it. And so that word of the year, when I got it, I got it because not even because I'm like, God, show me a sign. Is it this? Is it that? I just woke up one day around 3 a.m. and I felt it so much on my heart planted, and I thought, I know that this is my word for the year. But I didn't feel it at first. And so sometimes you just have to wait. Sometimes it's not the right time for God to tell you. And what are the chances he tells me that right before the war happens in March? Alright. So, how to know if it's a yes from God? There's favor, there's natural talent, you'll feel a no from somewhere else, past or in the present, and you will feel peace. Okay, part three here. This is what I'm excited about. And one more note on what if you don't hear anything. I think a lot of questions that some of you may be having is I'm feeling stuck. Alexis, what do I do? When you're feeling stuck, here's a few things that could be going on. I want you to just feel in your body which one feels like it's a yes. If you're feeling stuck, it could be time for a new direction. Maybe you need to change your niche, my content creator girls. Maybe you need to change your brand, maybe you need to change the, not change the desire, but maybe you need to lean in towards another desire. Maybe you feel stuck because you're burnt out. And that's where healing will need to come in. YouTube will be really, really helpful for you here. I have so many videos on how to heal your body from trauma, from stress, from survival mode. Like I said, if you are not a healthy, available vessel for God, you can't hear him. If Joseph's nightmares drowned out the prophetic dreams that God gave him, his life would have looked really different. Joseph was available to be used by God and to hear him. You must heal to hear God. And in your healing, in that brokenness, is where you will actually feel God the most. And it's beautiful. If you're feeling stuck, turn to the word, or yeah, turn to the word, not the world. What a lot of us do. Hey chat. I can't even say that with a straight face. Hey chat GPT, why am I not getting any views right now? Why is this business not bringing in any sales? Hey ChatGPT, why am I burnt out? We're going to the world, we're not going to God. And then we're asking, God, why is the problem not being fixed? We're going to the same source that caused the problem in the first place. Your healing, your full healing is never going to come from the world. So how do you go to the word? You open the Bible and you just read it and you let it read you. Listen to podcasts. I love the Girls Gone Bible podcast. I love the podcast, conversations with John and Lisa Bevere. Oh, they're so good. Going to church, being fed by the word, listening to worship music, starting your day, reading the word. My phone is on airplane mode until I've read the Bible, because I am not going to be consumed by the world. I want my mind and while my subconscious is open to be consumed by the word. It changes you so much. If you're feeling stuck, make your goal service. Like I said on YouTube, I was stuck for so many years because my channel, it was for me. It wasn't for others. And that's why I was stuck. And sometimes we feel frozen as content creators. Ah, but I'm scared. What do people think? When you're focused on serving people, you can't be focused on serving people and be thinking about what people think about you at the same time. If you're caring too much what people think, bad news. You're not caring to help other people very much. Speaking to myself here, when I cared so much what people thought, I put myself above other people. So serving others above self-service, that's when it's going to be very, very easy for you to get unstuck. And simply just ask God. There's a verse that I love, love, love. And this is the I think this is the message version. It's James 1, 5 through 8. I want to do a whole episode on this verse one day. So it says, um, let me think for a second. It says, if you don't know what you're doing, pray to the Father. He loves to help. You'll get his help, and you won't be condescended to when you ask for it. And there's more to that verse, but we'll save that. Can't give all the spoilers away. Even though you can go and read it. But it says, pray to the Father. He loves to help. And I love how God knows us so much. It says, if you don't know what you're doing, anyone else relate to this? God knew what we would need. There's been so many times where I do not know what I'm doing. I don't know what decision to make going forward. I don't even know where to start with some things. And God tells us the exact formula for what to do. Pray to the Father. He loves to help. And you'll get his help. And he won't condescend you for asking for his help. So that is if you are feeling stuck. Another note here about finances. There's two questions that I get a lot about finances. I'm gonna go through this very, very quick, but there's so much more to this. Number one, tithing. Tithing is the most important financial decision I have ever made in my life. It is the most important investment that I've ever made in my life. Period. The moment that I started tithing, I think I was 21 or 22, I learned in the Bible that we are supposed to take our first 10% of our income, of our harvest that God brings, and give it back to God. Well, I was not making a lot of money at this time. And I said, God, I trust you more than I trust myself. I want to start tithing. I had just started going to church. I had gone to church as a kid, but this was the first time that I was like actually going to church as an adult. This church, it was changing my life. It was healing me, it was teaching me so much. And I thought, I want other people to come here. I want this church to grow, and I want this to bring more people in. So I'm happy to invest into the church. I took the first 10% of my paycheck, which was like $35 every week, and I would just give it to my church. And one day God told me, what you make in a week will be your average tithe. And I thought, but God, do you know how much I'm making in a week? If you're saying that I'm making $350 in a as my tithe, if I'm going to be giving that as my tithe, that means that that's 10% of $3,500. You're saying that I'm going to make that in a week? I didn't understand it at the time. But good thing about God math is it overrules world math. And fast forward a couple years later, exactly what God told me happened. What I was making in a week, $350, I was giving that as a tithe because I started making $3,000, $4,000, $5,000 in a week. And I could not believe how much financial abundance God had given me. Even to this day, I don't think it'll ever feel real. And God wants to bless us. And sometimes our lack of faith and our scarcity holds us back from that blessing. God tells us in Malachi 3.10, and I'm actually going to read this one because it's so important. He tells us, Bring all the tithes into the storehouse so that there will be enough food in my temple. If you do, says the Lord, says the Lord of Heaven's armies, I will open the windows of heaven for you. I will pour out a blessing so great, you won't have enough room to take it in. Try it. Put me to the test. So God is saying, Bring the tithes into the storehouse. And at this time, the tithe, they the Israelites had to bring their tithes to the temple. And this is the one place in scripture, Malachi 3.10, where God tells us to test him. And it's with our finances. I also think this is so intentional where it's placed in the Bible. Everything in the Bible is so intentional. Every sentence, every word, every placement, it's so, so thoughtful by God because Malachi is the last book of the Bible before we switch to the New Testament. So there's something to me about a connection between the old and the new, where God has a conversation about tithing and then directly transitions from the old to the new, from the life before Jesus to the life after Jesus comes. There's a connection there. Tithing opens up doors from the old to the new. Next question about finances is so I was talking with one of my close friends about this, and she goes, she's trying to start her business now, and she goes, but I just can't wrap my mind around the concept of charging people. And I said, I so understand that. And that was something else that I would always go back and forth on is prices, raising prices, charging prices in general. As a creator, I'm going to be also creating free content because creating free content is my way to serve. It's going to be different from my paid content, but I'm still going to create another area for those who are not ready to access the paid content. So that's number one. And number two is my girls who have done a lot of money in our work is you will know this. Your price is an invitation for someone to say yes. The price is not about you. The price is almost a question. It's an exchange of value. When you set a price and someone pays that price, they're choosing to invest in themselves. That investment gives them something back in the form of an activation, in the form of permission, in the form of confidence, in the form of a stretch of abundance that they can hold. And so the price, it's actually not for you. When you charge prices, it's an invitation for someone to say yes. I like to say that I don't coach in public. I don't coach people that are not asking for it. Why? Is because when someone makes a payment for a coaching session, I don't even care about the payment. I care about them giving me permission to coach them. I've tried coaching for free in the past, it doesn't work out. It's like when you invest in college. If you didn't have to pay for college, you wouldn't care about it as much. You wouldn't fully be ready. But when you say yes to that price, you give up, you sacrifice something, and you get something else in return. You value it more and you show up more. You find more value in what you invest in. So that fear of charging people, please know that you are doing someone a favor by offering a product of value. And I'm not saying make your price uh not equivalent to the value that you're giving. Absolutely, the value and the price should match. However, Don't be afraid to charge prices because really what's happening is you are afraid to provide value. People want your value and they want to say yes to your prices. So here's the bonus that I said that I would come back to. Earlier, when we're talking about the important detail of the family of Jacob leaving Canaan, so when Joseph is in charge with Pharaoh and the famine hits, and Joseph brings all of his family out of Ca out of Canaan and into Egypt, thank God he was there because he saved his family from that famine. Well, it was a very, very important detail because Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, Jacob's grandfather was promised by God earlier in Genesis that this land of Canaan that you are standing in, I will bless you and your descendants with it. You guys will own this land and I will give you so many descendants. This morning I just finished the book of Joshua, and I promise this is going to connect. You know those moments where you're like, oh my gosh, God, thank you for showing me this revelation. I'm just finishing the book of Joshua, and at the end, it this is Joshua 24, verse 32. It says, The bones of Joseph, which the Israelites had brought along with them when they left Egypt, were buried at Shechem in the plot of land Jacob had bought from the sons of Hamor for 100 pieces of silver. Long story short, I just finished reading about the whole journey of the Israelites being in enslavement in Egypt. When the good pharaoh dies, that Joseph uh is working for, a new pharaoh rises up, and this pharaoh is evil. He turns all of the Hebrews living in Egypt, which is all of Joseph's family and Jacob's family, he turns all of the Hebrews into slaves because he's afraid of their power. And so God then uses a very important man named Moses, who is also a Hebrew from this family. Moses leaves the people out of enslavement, out of Egypt. It was a huge, huge story in Exodus. And then the Israelites, they are now wandering around in the wilderness for 40 years. And God is trying to bring them to the promised land. It was supposed to be an 11-day journey. It turned into a 40-year journey. It's a very crazy story. You can read Exodus. And finally, Genesis, or not Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, Deuteronomy, now Joshua. The Israelites are finally in their promised land that God told them, This will belong to your descendant. And so the Israelites are settled into the land. Things are good now. Joshua 32, I'm reading, the bones of Joseph were buried at Shechem, which Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, bought, but had to leave during the famine. And so I'm wondering this morning, I'm like, why is there this detail about Joseph's bones being carried and brought into Canaan? Like, why does this matter? Then I'm learning something. I'm flipping back, reading some notes, and I realize Shechem is in the heart of the promised land in Canaan. This is where Abraham stopped when God promised him the territory back in Genesis 12:7. Although the Canaanites were still living there at the time. Jacob, son of Isaac, grandson of Abraham, purchases Shechem in Genesis 33, 19. But Joseph's family is forced to leave the land during the famine and move to Egypt. Genesis, uh I can't read my writing. Genesis 46. I think that's supposed to be Exodus 46. And so how many times does it feel like you're moving further away from a promise? This is exactly what Jacob's probably thinking, but my ancestors were promised this land now because of the famine. God, you could have stopped the famine, but you allowed it to happen. And you allowed us to now be in Egypt. There may be even things in life that you're like, God, why did this happen? This doesn't match the promise, but it's coming. Joseph, his bones being buried in the land of God all these years later, it signifies a full circle moment and completion of God's original promise and covenant that the land will belong to Abraham's descendants and that he will have many descendants. So Joseph, since he's uh Jacob's son, his bones, it was very important that Jacob's family, Abraham's lineage, would be buried in the land that God promised him. So the Israelites were holding on to his bones, holding on to this promise, saying, We will reach the promised land that God has told our ancestors. And I just love it because I'm thinking about this episode and I'm thinking about something. Your business idea will impact generations to come. All of the characteristics of Joseph's story brought his family wealth, brought his family healing, brought his family their partners and their kids, brought his family their faith in the generations to come. When Joseph is kicked out, sold into slavery, all of that turmoil, Potiphar's house, imprisonment, all gets them to Egypt, which gets them out of Egypt, brings them on a 40-year journey back to the wilderness. And now, fast forward here in Joshua, the Israelites, they have so much wealth, they have so much land, they have so much abundance. Their faith in God is different. That 40-year journey, it changed their faith. They're now they go from being the Hebrew, um Hebrew descent to now being a nation called Israel. And that nation, this is back in the Old Testament I'm referring to. They form their relationship with God, they form the customs of the Jewish religion, and you can see even to this day that there's a generational impact from the Jewish nation back in the Old Testament. And if we go many, many, many generations forward, one man, one very special man named Jesus Christ is also a descendant from Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. And he comes, and Jesus is also from a Jewish family. And Jesus comes and says, Okay, Israel, you have the idea of God going great. You have the customs and the religion side of God going great. Now I want to bring you the relationship with God, and it is through me that you will have this. Great that you can sacrifice on the altars and purify yourselves from sin and do your best to follow the Torah. However, God has sent me to say, I love you, I forgive you. When you accept my Son and you believe in your hearts that He is Lord and you have a relationship with Him, no more having to sacrifice on the altars, no more needing to feel that you need to be perfect from sin, your sin has been cleansed by my Son's blood on the cross. And so the sacrifice that literally saves our soul is also a ripple effect from Joseph being in a position of power, bringing his family to Egypt, his family getting out of Egypt during the Exodus, getting into their promised land, building a nation in Jerusalem. And Jesus comes from that ripple effect. Your business idea will do this. Your business idea will bring your family such a ripple effect of health, of wealth, of abundance, of family, of connections, of partners, of friends. It will form a community. It will do more than serve you, is it will serve the world, starting with serving your family. And I just love how God works. That's also why I say it's not just a business idea. Joseph's idea, it was a dream. It was a gift that he had that brought him into a position of power and influence. And it changed the world. And I cannot wait to see how you change the world. There is something that you have. If you are living, if you are breathing, you have a purpose. And maybe you have it right now, maybe you don't. Either way, God wants to show you what it is. And I can't wait to see what it is. And I hope that this episode has helped you and just given you some encouragement. Thank you all so much for being here. I love you. I love your comments.
