We have a "hot topic" today: science and spirituality, are they "Biblical", and and how they connect to Christianity
From the lies versus truths, quantum physics, manifestation, "is science against God?" and more
The goal of this episode is to provide clarity on how to engage with these two areas, from the lens of Scripture
As always, have a beautiful and blessed week
Hello, hello ladies! Welcome into the Fruitful Feminine. I am so excited to be with you. We have a very juicy topic today. We're talking about Christianity, spirituality, science. How do all of these connect? What are the truths? What are the lies? And all of those major questions from quantum physics to can we trust science? Where does spirituality fit in with God and with the Bible? We're gonna talk about all of it today. And this is one of those episodes where I prayed right before, please, God, guide me on this. Let me know the words to say. And please just let me bring clarity. Because this is a very, we'll say sensitive topic, but it's one that I get a lot of requests about. I'm so happy to make it for you. So let's get into it. Uh one quick thing though is today's been one of those days where you know it just feels like things go wrong. Something randomly happened with my dishwasher where it wouldn't close all the way. And I'm playing around with it. I'm asking ChatGBT, sending photos what's wrong with it, and I finally get it to close. And then it pops open about halfway and water starts coming out. And this is while I'm writing out notes for this episode, by the way. And I go over to the dishwasher, I have to hold it closed with my knee. There's like 13 minutes left. I'm holding it closed with my knee. I'm writing in my journal about what we're gonna talk about today. And I'm just thinking, Enemy, you're not gonna get me today. We're talking about this. Anytime something crazy happens before an episode that I want to make, I always feel like it's some sort of spiritual warfare. And I may be over-spiritualizing here, which we're gonna talk about spirituality. But those things tend to happen a lot right before you do something that is challenging or something that you know is a bit scary to talk about. So if anyone has been through that recently, I feel for you. And I pray everyone's dishwasher, including mine, works good. I also want to say, ladies, thank you so much for your ratings and your comments on this podcast. I was looking at some of the ratings earlier, trying to get questions, topic ideas, and I saw we have 200 plus ratings on Spotify, over 100 plus on Apple Podcasts, and I'm just so grateful for you. So thank you for taking the time to click the five stars and to write out how this is helping you for all of your comments on the episode. I love hearing how this is helping you, and I just love seeing your names. I just love hearing your story. So thank you for sharing it with me. I read those and I really, really love them. Okay, now getting into this. So, this topic idea kind of came from this past weekend when I was at church. And I just started volunteering at the kids' ministry. It's amazing. The kids are cute and funny, and they're just so eager to learn about God. And it was my first time volunteering. And since it's summer in Dubai, almost everyone leaves the country. Not everyone, but a good majority. And so my church is really, really short on volunteers. And so they said, sorry, Alexis, this is not normally what we do, but can you step in as one of the teaching roles? Can you be the assistant teacher for the nine to 12 year olds? And I was thinking, okay, uh, I don't know how to teach a Sunday school lesson, but and I was thinking, you know what? If God can give me the words to say for a podcast for adults, I can do this for kids. But I was so nervous. And so the theme for the uh Bible study was creation, when God created the earth, when God created the word. And so I'm sitting with the assistant teacher, we're in the circle with the kids, and one of the kids asks this question that I thought, really, on my first day. And the question was, don't we come from monkeys? And I thought, okay, God, please give me the words. What am I gonna say here? And the other teacher and I, she was really young, she's 22, and we just looked at each other. We thought, okay, we will come back to this. That's a great question. And I was also very quiet. I told her, I'm just going to observe, like, I really just want to see how this is done before I start teaching. But the whole, uh, I was gonna say episode, the whole session, I could not stop thinking about this question and knew that we needed to come back to it because this is what kids are learning in school is that evolution is truth. It's not. That's what science says. God tells us something different, and what God says is that when He spoke, the world came into existence, his breath created our life. And because our minds are so limited as humans, and this is the funny thing about science. Science has even confirmed we use a small, small part of our brain. We barely use, I believe now we can use six, I don't want to say six to seven. The kids taught me that uh inside joke. But we use such a small part of our brain that here we are thinking, yep, we know everything about the world, or at least what scientists say, we know everything. It's the Big Bang Theory, it's evolution. We uh were monkeys, and then to adapt to the earth and to the environment, our body and our brain started changing to give us fingers to grab things and to uh give us different body parts and turned us into human. Because our brains cannot comprehend God's greatness, science gives a different explanation. Yet, science also says we can't use our full brain. So, how in the world could we think that we can comprehend how big God is? And so I was waiting for a moment to come back to this kid's question during the small group. And we were talking about false idols and how we shouldn't build up statues, we shouldn't build up other false gods or even celebrities and worship them. Because God says there is one God, He says, I'm a jealous God. Do not worship other gods. It's like cheating on God, being unfaithful to Him. And the other Sunday school teacher, she said, the reason why we shouldn't build statues and idols is because those are too small for what for how big God is. And then I felt the Holy Spirit say, Here you go. And what I said to the kid next was just like statues and idols are too small to represent God, so is science. I love science, especially neuroscience and physics. But just like idols are too small to worship God and to fully, fully represent Him, so is science. So science is great, but it will tell you things that are not the truth. It will limit God, it will shrink his vision and his capabilities because nothing besides God can comprehend God. And so this is where we're going to get into the spirituality and the science side of things. And I want to make this very clear. I'm not against spirituality. I am the type of Christian who would consider myself spiritual. I believe in a spiritual realm, meaning I believe that there are things happening in heaven and here on earth that we cannot see, but that God is rearranging. And I also believe what God has said in the word, how there is a spiritual force that governs the world. And that force is led by Satan. When Satan fell from heaven, and I go into this in another episode, I believe it's our latest Q ⁇ A where I talk about this story. When Satan fell to heaven, he governs the earth, and he took about, I think it was one-third or two-thirds of the angels with him, and they became the I say this in quotations, fallen angels. That is why there is evil in the world still, and Satan still has power, but it's limited and it's temporary. God still has ultimate power. And so uh there is a spiritual realm that exists, and I used to not believe this. Like, I used to not even believe that God would actually create hell. I would I used to believe that there were actually not uh demons. Like I would hear Christians talk about demons and their mind is being attacked, and I'm like, what? This is so weird. I used to not believe that until I started reading the Bible and until I went through a spiritual attack myself, which looks like anxiety on the outside, but now I see it was a spiritual attack. That's when I thought, oh, this is real. Spirituality is really growing popular today. There's crystals, tarot cards, uh, spiritual gurus, there's so much that is pushing out spirituality because we are more lost and directionless than ever. Not us when you're rooted in truth, but us in the world that are lost without God, that don't know the truth, that don't know what Jesus has done for us. There's an emptiness, there's a craving, there's a I love this this quote that says there's a God-sized hole in our hearts that only He can feel that only He can fill. And we were designed that way. It's why we always feel homesick until you realize my home is with God, my home is in heaven. It's why celebrities and multi-multi-millionaires, billionaires, people who have lived all around the world, never feel content until they find Jesus. Never enough money, never enough intimacy, never enough relationship status. It's because we're designed that way. It's like a puzzle piece so that we can find that missing piece, God, and go, whoa, now I feel complete. So both science and spirituality are limited because they leave out the creator. What spirituality does is two things. Spirituality will say either you are God or the universe is God. And I used to get so frustrated by this because I would think, if there is a need to believe that someone is God, why give power to the universe? Why give power to the creation rather than the creator? It makes no sense. It's like a piece of pottery that's sitting on a shelf, and all of the spectators come by and they worship the pottery. You're so beautiful, you're so wonderfully made. Oh, look at how you can hold water, look at how you were designed to do this, to do that. But the artist is sitting to the side going, I am the one who created this. Why are you worshiping the creation itself? The creation cannot do anything in your life. And so spirituality limits the creator in this way by either making use, and this is so dangerous that spirituality does, is when you think you are your own God, it is the most dangerous belief that you can have, and we'll come back to why in a bit. Science, on the other hand, it's either similar to spirituality, where the universe is God, big bang theory, the universe creates itself, the world created itself, or nothing. Everything was just random, everything was an accident, everything was a perfect collision. That is what science believes. Science also leads with truth and evidence, which is why I love it. Spirituality leads with faith. And so these are the differences. Science is truth rule, spirituality is faith rules. Christianity is both rule, which I love even more. In John 4, this is verse 24, it says, For God is spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit, aka faith, and in truth, and the Holy Spirit. Because we can't see the Holy Spirit, we have to believe through faith that he exists. And so Christianity, it's both. Science and spirituality pull different parts of Christianity and create a formula that makes sense because it can't comprehend the fullness of Christianity. So earlier, when I was saying spirituality, how it can make you feel like you are your own God, it is such a huge burden that we were never meant to carry. Because if you are your own God, if you are responsible for everything in your life, if you are the creator, I have this in quotations, then you need to fix everything that goes wrong. You are responsible for everything that goes wrong. You are responsible for everything that goes right. And when you believe you are in control of everything, the things that are outside of your control will destroy you. And there are things outside of your control. That was the hardest part of my inner work journey was accepting that. This is what the Bible says. Our flesh is weak, but our spirit is strong. And this is another thing. Things like willpower and discipline, we get tired, we have mood swings, our body changes, just the idea of our body aging and getting older and not working the way that it used to, you cannot rely on yourself for everything. It is a slippery slope. And it's like uh you are on thin ice just waiting to fall. Because if you make one wrong move, you're done for. But in Christianity, Jesus says, if you make one wrong move, you'll fall, but you'll get back up again because I will be there to help you. I will never leave you nor forsake you. But how many times do humans abandon themselves? How many times do humans believe, yeah, I'm on the right track, I'm doing this right, my flesh is strong, I can do this discipline, and then you wake up in the luteal phase and it all changes. Or you go through a breakup and something changes. Or you realize I was so wrong about this in the past. The best thing about Christianity is the truth is right here in the Bible, and it never changes. Never changes. It's consistent across thousands of generations. And I have talked about this before when we were talking about waiting till marriage, when I was really debating if I was going to, this is my first serious relationship. I always thought, I'm gonna wait till marriage. Then I got into a relationship and thought, I don't know. Thank God I did. But when I was questioning, was I going to, was I not, I talked to a family friend that we had, and I asked him, I said, okay, I know that, and I was not reading my Bible consistently at this time. I was Christian, but I was not, I was not the way that I was now where I know the word of God, where I'm so deep in my relationship with the Lord. I was praying here and there, like before meals, and I asked this family friend, but doesn't God say that it's better to wait till marriage? And he goes, Do you know how outdated the Bible is? Do you really think that what was written thousands of years ago would still stand true to this day? Look at how much the world has changed, Alexis. Phones weren't even invented when the Bible was written. It's funny how phones weren't even invented when the Bible was written, but God knew to put it in the Bible back then that we must guard our minds, we must protect our hearts, and we must not overindulge in the world. He knew that we would have this struggle with phone addiction, actual phone addiction. I was listening to this podcast where they were talking about most people talk about doom scrolling and brain rot, but nobody talks about that. Most Americans, especially, have an actual addiction to their phone. And I started thinking, I'm like, probably not me. And then they go, if you touch your phone more than 90 times a day, you have a phone addiction. If you always know where your phone is at all times, you have a phone addiction. If you have goals and like time timelines and things in your agenda that you want to do throughout the day, but your phone gets in the way of that, or you stay longer on it than you want to, you have a phone addiction. It is just like an addiction with alcohol, with food, with pornography. And I started thinking, oh my gosh, this is so dangerous. So, yes, phones weren't invented when scripture was written, but scripture still applies and will heal us from things like a phone addiction today. How have I healed from my phone addiction? Fasting and praying. It has changed my life because I don't touch my phone that much. I do, I do not open any social media. I do text or FaceTime, but when I fasted and detoxed from social media, even for one day, the next day I go on it, I'm more repelled to it. It feels like more of an ick. I don't have the same appetite for it. So God knew what to put in scripture even back then. So the Bible, it might seem outdated in the eyes of the culture, but it will save you and is it is the best medicine, best blueprint, even for a business. The Bible is the blueprint. We talked about this, I'm blanking on the name of the episode. It was talking about how to know if you have a business idea from God. And the Bible will change your business if you start reading it. It will give you the exact steps to follow. It will help make it clear what your purpose is meant to be. It will even help you feel worthy to charge the prices that you need to charge and to stay true to your authentic voice and not be swayed by the world. So, anyways, going off on a tangent here. And so uh spirituality says you are the source, you're responsible for everything that is extremely dangerous and the most stressful way to live because we were not designed that way. Here's the problem with spirituality, and again, I don't want to come here and hate on spirituality, hate on science. I love both. But there's two sides. One is rooted in God and the other is not. The side that's not rooted in God with spirituality, this is more of the side that worships the universe, new age, law, uh, I don't even know the name, law of assumption, stuff like that. So just like there are good spirits, there are also evil spirits. And the problem is that when you don't have the word of God, you don't have truth, and you don't have a relationship with God, you have zero protection and zero discernment from these evil spirits. Like I said, I used to be one of those Christians, I don't believe in the spiritual side of things. Like, yeah, I don't believe in demons. Uh, that's kind of a weird gate. I don't want to open up. Um, then when I started reading the Bible, my eyes were opened. An example of this in 1 Samuel 16, I was reading about how Saul was sent an evil spirit. And it's amazing how God works everything out for good because when you keep reading, you see why the evil spirit was sent to him, and everything was arranged so perfectly to work out for God's good in the end. But it was not very fun for Saul to receive that evil spirit. This evil spirit tormented him with two things. Want to guess what those were depression and fear. Fear is a spirit, and I wish I remembered, please, ladies, if any of you remember this episode where I'm talking about the seeds. I think it's about something fruitful or uh yeah, I don't remember the name. But I broke down what are fruits of the spirit and what are what are weeds of the enemy? And I said that the fruits of the spirit, it's things like love, patience, peace, gentleness, uh, faithfulness. Weeds of the enemy are anything that is not from God. Depression, fear, anxiety, anything like this. Most mental health issues. I know this is a very bold thing to say, but I believe it now. Most mental health issues are spiritual attacks. It's not an imbalance in the brain. Yes, for some people it is. Some people have an imbalance, a chemical imbalance that makes them feel depressed. For a huge majority of people, they are just under spiritual attack and they have no idea. This is why science and spirituality is not enough. Because spiritual spirituality will tell you do some somatic shaking, go back in the memory, release. Attrapt emotion, yeah, that can help heal, but it's a band-aid. Science will tell you okay, let's do some EDMR, let's do this type of therapy, let's uh let's give some medicine to help balance out the brain chemicals, relieve the depression. Also a band-aid. The only thing that roots up the depression and pulls it all the way out is healing from God. I know because he did this with the anxiety that I felt. And so the evil spirits, there's also a part in the New Testament where there's so many evil spirits in the New Testament that cause people to hurt others to be demonic. We're not gonna get too too deep into this, but I think that there's many things that we label as narcissism or other other issues that people have that are actually evil spirits inside that person. And Jesus casts out evil spirits when he is in the New Testament with the disciples. And there's a time where evil spirits are cast out and they go into pigs, and the pigs go and they fall off this cliff and they die. And that's the thing about evil spirits, they need a body to occupy. And that's what's scary. Because if you don't have the protection of Jesus, the moment you invite Jesus into your life, his blood covers you. And if we go back to Passover in the Old Testament, when God is using Moses to rescue his people from Egypt, and he's telling, he's giving all these plagues to Pharaoh and saying, Let my people go. The last and final plague is all of the firstborns, all of the firstborn sons, including Pharaoh's son, will die in Egypt if they are not covered by the blood of a sacrificial lamb. And so Moses instructs the Hebrews to sacrifice a lamb to God, take the blood, put it on the outside of your door, so that when that spirit of death passes over all the homes in Egypt, and it sees that that home is marked with the lamb of God, with the blood of God, those families will be saved and their sons will not die. And that night, one of the deepest, loudest cries is heard all throughout Egypt as people realize, including Pharaoh, that their firstborn son had died. The only ones who were saved were the ones who were covered by the blood of the Lord. And what is Jesus? He is that sacrificial lamb in the New Testament. Except his blood covers future people like us that accept him. And so the moment that you accept Jesus into your life, you are covered by the blood of Jesus. That is why you are protected in ways that other people don't understand. And it's why evil spirits can't touch you in the way that they want. You are covered. Doesn't mean that we need to let go of all protection. No, we still need the spiritual armor of God, which I believe 1 Corinthians talks about the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the helmet of salvation. You still need those. But without the truth and without God, you have no protection. And so important, you have no discernment. Have you ever met someone who just felt a little bit off? Where your body just tells you there's something dangerous about them. Or you're about to uh do a business deal or sign a contract, and you just feel the Holy Spirit telling you, no. That is discernment, and that is a fruit, that is a gift of the Holy Spirit. When you do not have God, when you have not accepted Jesus into your life, you don't have discernment. You have your intuition, but just like science compared to God, there is no comparison in intuition versus discernment. Discernment can have feelings about things that are across the country, that are across the world. Intuition needs to have sensor senses activated in your environment to understand how to make a decision. There was a topic that my friend and I were talking about the other day, and there was a movie that they went to go see. It was Wuthering Heights, and this was a while ago. And we were just talking about how certain movies just feel so heavy. She was talking about that new horror movie that came out, Obsession. And I told her, girl, I am not even gonna go see that. I have no desire. And she said that uh she was just she watched like the first 15 minutes and just felt so heavy, she didn't even want to watch it at first, and then turned it off. Just the sounds. There are evil spirits in movies and on media. You have to have the discernment to close your eyes and to close your ears, even in music. And I had told her, I said, There's no way that I would ever go see that movie. Any movie that I feel my spirit saying no, I listen to the voice and I don't do it. And I told her, Do you remember when you asked me if I wanted to go see Wuthering Heights? I told her, I said, I think I told you I wasn't feeling good that day or something, but really the Holy Spirit was telling me no. And I just knew that movie, there was something dark about it. I had read the book in English class years, years ago, but the movie it looked like a love movie. When I was seeing the images and the videos online, I thought, okay, Margot Robbie and that really tall guy I'm blanking on his name, they are great actors. Like this looks like a love story. Maybe it's gonna be romantic and good. I'm so glad I didn't see it. The only way that I knew not to see it was discernment. How you can have discernment is pray for it. Spend time with God and read his word. Pray. God says, ask and you shall receive. Whatever you ask for in my name will be given to you. Pray for discernment. And a bonus note, pray for wisdom. That's something that I pray for every day. Next, spend time with God. When you spend time with God, you will know what feels familiar and you will know what doesn't. When you read his word, same thing. You will know his voice and you will know what is not his voice. I've heard certain people on TikTok that are saying they are preaching the word of God, and I think this doesn't match what I read. It doesn't match the language, tone of voice, emotion that the Bible has. That is how you have discernment. You have to spend time with God to know what is off. And the thing about spirituality is it's so clever, the uh new age spirituality to sneak in things that are so similar to God, but not quite Him. For example, manifestation. Yeah, the Bible talks about manifestation. We're all talking about the same manifestation. Nope, that is not true. Manifestation when God is the source versus you are the source are very, very different. So you must know what is the truth versus what is not. Uh, I'm just gonna say this, I've already said this again. If people ask, do I believe in crystals, tarot cards, anything like that? Absolutely not. I do not mess with those. Do they have power? Maybe, but it's the type of power that the enemy has. It's limited, it's not sourced from God, and it opens up doors that can remove, it's almost like if the Israelites were to remove their door that had the blood of the lamb on it that night. Why am I gonna do that? Okay, I don't touch Ouija boards, I don't watch horror movies, nothing like that. Another thing about spirituality is spirituality says that people have authority over you. I never saw this until I moved to the Middle East. Here in the Middle East, there is something, um I think everyone knows this. I just for some reason didn't really know about it. There's a concept of the evil eye. Everyone puts that little evil eye uh symbol on their purses, on their Instagram posts, on their texts. Um, I remember when I first moved here and I was telling, I was talking with one of my friends who is Muslim, and I said, one of the differences that I notice is that the compliments are not really received by other women here in the Middle East. Like a lot of my Middle Eastern clients, they cannot receive compliments. And so I'm asking one of my friends, she started off as my client, but now we're friends. I asked her, Why is this? She's lived in Dubai her whole life, and she goes, It's because in Islam, if you don't, if you don't put um, I'm not even gonna say it, but they say like, God protect me. If you don't give a compliment and then put like God bless you or God protect you, they think that when you're giving that compliment, you're actually trying to take whatever you just complimented and you're sending them evil. You must say like, that's why you will always hear Middle Eastern women say a compliment, and then they'll say like God protect you after it, but they say it in Arabic. And I thought, what? How could if I compliment a woman's eyes, you have beautiful eyes, what business do I have of wanting to take that from her? And my friend, she goes, it's just how we are raised, it's just in our culture. And I thought, that is absolutely mind-blowing to me that there's that much fear. And here's the thing: when you are not rooted in God, you believe people have authority over you. It may be through the things like the evil eye, or it may be people are gonna judge me, people are gonna criticize me, but the word of God says, do not fear man. You cannot serve both both man and both Christ. If you let people control how you feel about yourself, you're serving them. You've made them your God and your master. And in the book of Matthew, it says, you cannot serve two masters. You will hate one and love the other. So if you're fearing man, that's not a very good outcome. Because what does it mean that you're hating? So Christianity, it says, this is one of my favorite, favorite verses. It's 1 John 4, 4. And it says, you have already won a victory over those people because the spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world. And I love that because you've already been given authority. Other people do not have authority over you. And that's the thing with spirituality is when you don't have these truths and you don't have this knowledge that you have authority, other people can't manifest things for you or control your will, things like that. You get to speak that and live in that confidence. Another verse, this is Luke 10, 19 through 20. It says, Look, this is Jesus speaking. Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy. And you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. But don't rejoice because the evil spirits obey you. Rejoice because your names are registered in heaven. And I love that. You've been given authority over not some of the power of the enemy, all of the power. And that last part, I love how he tells us without telling us directly, don't rejoice because the evil spirits obey you. Did you hear that? They obey you. Jesus just told us. He goes, Don't even rejoice about that because that's not even the best part. The best part is that your eternity is secured. You've been giving it, you've been given eternal life. Yes, there is a spiritual realm, as we talked about earlier. It's governed. God is the one that is in control of the heavenly realm. And until Jesus comes back, there is an earthly realm that is led by Satan. He does not have full power, but he does have some power. And I used to deny it, and that kept me stuck. Why do bad things happen to good people? Why do things like suffering, why does this exist? And a lot of Christians will say, Oh, it's because uh God wants to teach you a lesson, which that may be true, but also for someone who is going through a bad thing to hear that, it's like, that's the last thing that I need to hear. There is another reason why bad things happen to good people, and we just talked about it. Because Satan has power on earth, limited temporary power. And so he can cause bad things to happen, like he can send depression or fear or anxiety, but it's limited. Like I said, I have to keep saying that because I don't want anyone to think Satan can attack me and I'm helpless. No. Go back to Luke 10, 19 through 20 if you ever feel that way. But things like uh weather destructions, things like abuse, things like breakups, let's focus on abuse for a second. God did not send you an abusive mother or father if you have one. Satan may have done that. And God is even more powerful that he takes what Satan sends and turns it into good. I always say if I never went through the abuse that I did as a kid, I would never be a coach. I would never be helping women. And I thank God that that happened. Not that I'm happy, oh, that was such a great time of my life. No. But I would never take it back. I would never trade it. That's how sovereign God is, is that even the things that the enemy uses for good, God intends it for good. Genesis 50, 20. It's one of my favorite verses. You intended to harm me, but God intended it all for good. He brought me to this position so I could save the lives of many people. So just remember, Satan may feel like he is one because he's caused some destruction. With God, all of it can be used for good. Okay, we'll pause on spirituality. Science. I love science. This is always a difficult one to talk about because just like spirituality, there's two sides. There's a science that is aligned with truth, and then there's a science that is not. All right. The science side that is not aligned with truth will often rename what God created, and then they add a formula to it. So for example, um, confirmation bias. We love confirmation bias and studying it, right? This is why I also love science because the more that you research science and the more that you read the word of God, the more that both complement each other. It's mind-blowing. So confirmation bias, it's the uh concept that our brain will not allow us to receive anything that we don't believe. So your thoughts shaping your reality, that's where it comes from. Science has proven this, but God already said it first. Matthew 9, 29, according to your faith, let it be done to you. So again, science just takes what God already told us, repackages it up, and pushes it out. That's why if you remain in the Word of God, I say your business will go so much further because there's principles in here that the business community is just now discovering that God already told us. Spirituality also does this too, renaming things that God already created. An example, a soul tie. What is a soul tie? It's what God calls a covenant. When the covenant is broken, there is pain. When the covenant was broken with God and the Israelites in the Old Testament, when they started worshiping false gods, God grieved because his children turned his back on them or on him. And the Israelites grieved because they lost access to God, they lost protection from God. When a marriage ends, there's grief, there's pain, there's kids that are often hurt in the process because covenants were not meant to be broken. And science has called a covenant a soul tie and is saying all the exact things that God already told us. And what science is really great about is science is great, it's just um, I don't want to say slow, but it hasn't caught up to scripture yet. So it's always delayed. But what's really great about science is that it gives logic and it gives fact to comprehend what God told us. And sometimes this is this can make parts of scripture click. Because when you realize, oh, when there's a soul tie and there's energy that is exchanged through intimacy, and a woman's oxytocin raises, and she starts seeing that man as her husband and the father of her kids. And now her uh pink or rose-colored glasses goes on, and she can't see any of his red flags because her brain thinks this is my husband, he needs to work out, I just gave my body to him. When that happens, and then there's a separation, there's a breakup, there's a divorce. A woman especially grieves so much because her brain has just sent out so many hormones and chemicals to make her attached to that man. And science is talking about all of these impacts of the grief and the um the level of fear and just everything that's released when a soul tie is broken. But someone else already told us this first. So the side that is not the side of science not aligned to truth, how do you know it's not aligned to truth? Know what scripture says, and when science goes against it, you'll know. For example, God said that he created the earth and everything in it. He created our food, for example. He gave the Israelites when they were in the wilderness, he gave them manna, he supplied them with food. So, one thing that the Bible tells us indirectly, and the Bible does this a lot, it tells us that God is the source of our food. He creates food. So, what has happened in the world when humans started creating food? What has happened? Sicknesses have gone up, diseases have gone up, inflammation has gone up, digestive issues have gone up. Think about processed food. If we were meant to be eating processed food, wouldn't God have put it on this earth? And there are, I know that there's a lot of benefits in terms of affordability, and yes, there's some processed food, taking like nuts and seeds and dates, that's actually really good for you. I'm talking about things like farm, farmed salmon. I'm talking about things like Fruit Loops, Cheez-Its, Pizza Rolls. I'm just explaining my whole diet as a kid. Look what happens when we try to play God. This is the danger of the not rooted in truth science side. Look what happens when we try to play God with the weather. Ever lived in a place where rain is created? I have. It comes with a cost. Scripture surpasses science with its knowledge, and scripture is superior, it's way, way, way, way ahead. Yet it's thousands of years old. In the Bible, it says don't hold on to anger and forgive others. And what has science recently started to find that unforgiveness physically makes the body sick? I was listening to a podcast on this about three years ago now, and there was a scientist that was talking about the research that they had just discovered that you can actually see the unforgiveness making the body sick when it's trapped inside. And I thought, what? And I that's when I started forgiving one person every day when I started praying. And I said, even if it's someone who cut me off in traffic, even if it's a family member from years ago, every single day I'm going to choose to forgive one person. And still to this day I do it. Science says that that makes your body healthy. God told us first. The very, very, very beginning of scripture, back in Genesis, God says it's not good for man to be alone. So I will make him a helper. And he created Eve. And what is going on today with the male loneliness pandemic? God already knew it's not good for man to be alone. I can already feel a question. What about for women? It doesn't say it's not good for women to be alone. Um, but I don't think that that's what God was saying. I think God was saying it's not good for humans, human beings to be alone. We're not meant to be isolated. We are meant for fellowship. But I will say that the loneliness epidemics, women handle it a lot better than men do. And I think God knew that when he created Adam. Um, God also told us unequally yoked relationships do not work. What is an unequally yoked relationship? A yoke was a farming tool that was placed on donkeys or horses or whatever the animals were, oxen, for example, so that farmers could plow the land. And so when this yoke was placed on uh the animals, what would happen is if the animals were unequally yoked, meaning that one went faster, one went slower, the yoke could not move forward. Because if it was an old ox with a new ox or a young ox, the older ox would have a lot of wear and tear on the body, it would be moving slower, the young ox would be having a lot of energy, want to race forward, want to move really quick, and it would pull the, it would pull the old ox, but the old ox would pull the young ox and keep it behind. And so this is the dynamic where God said, do not be in unequally yoked relationships. Because when you are rooted in truth and you are with someone who is not, you are going to be pulled to places by Jesus that your partner is not, and there will be friction. You are going to have fights where where you get the resolution from is two completely different sources. One may be God, and one may be that partner thinks they are the source, and they have all the answers. A partnership where one person is surrendered and the other is not is going to lead to chaos. And what's interesting is I don't think these are scientists, but they are more on the psychology side. The Gottmans, Dr. John Gottman and his wife, they have done so much research about divorce and marriage. And one thing that they find is that in couples who are divorced, one of the main things that lead to divorce is not having the same values, which we all pretty much knew. But not having the same values can lead to divorce. It's one of the biggest predictions of divorce. God already told us this when he said, Don't be unequally yoked. You have different values if you are. Science looks for evidence. And why this is not enough is because Jesus tells us, He's telling uh, I believe this was his disciple Thomas, who only started believing Jesus was the Messiah after he saw Jesus do a miracle. And Jesus looks at him and says, You're blessed because you've seen, but greater blessed are those who believe before they have seen. This is in John, I think it's John 20. And so science is not enough because it does have truth, yes, but it does not have faith. Spirituality is not enough because there's faith, but there's not truth. You need both. We're gonna get into quantum physics for a little bit. We couldn't talk about science and not talk about this. So quantum physics. Quantum physics, let's talk about quantum leaping and time, time specifically. I always get asked if I can talk about this. Here we go. So time. This is where science is very helpful because science is starting to find through quantum physics that time does not move linear. What we used to believe is that time is measured in minutes past, and actually, many people still believe this. If you're one of my Gold Vault students, don't tell me you still believe this. Many people believe that time is measured in minutes past. How is time actually measured? Distance traveled. I'm not gonna get too much into that, but just remember that minutes past is linear, distance traveled is quantum. And so when minutes are past, for example, someone might say it's gonna take four years to graduate college. Yes, that may be the time measurement of how long it's going to take from going to uh not graduated to graduated, but what if you could speed time up? What if you could make a jump that may not exist? Time is not linear. For example, if we look at, and also for my visual girls, let me paint you a picture. Think about a graph where there's the X, Y blanking on the name, but there's the XY type of graph. And think about a diagonal line that starts from zero and goes in a straight line pointing up to the right. So that's just a standard graph. That's how time is measured linearly. You move from zero, then to one, then to two, then to three. Quantum leaping and quantum physics says time is actually not linear, so cross out that diagonal line. You can start from zero and jump to a hundred. You can start from zero and jump to 50, or you can jump back to 20, then you can jump to a hundred again. What's an example of this in the Bible? The Israelites in the wilderness for 40 years. The Israelites were circling around the wilderness, looking for the promised land, hanging out in the desert for 40 years. That journey was supposed to take 11 days. I think this is the perfect example of quantum physics. You can travel a distance that will take you 40 years, I don't know how many minutes or seconds that is, or you can work with God and you can travel a distance that takes you 11 days. If you can understand this for your and you're a business owner, it will change your life. So that 11-day journey, why did it take them 40 years? Because they were disobedient, they were unfaithful to God, they complained, they worshiped false idols, they literally built a golden calf, like a baby cow, out of gold, and worshipped it after God had just rescued them from Egypt and part of the Red Sea for them. And so God goes, All right, none of you are going to enter the promised land, only your children will, and Joshua. And so we often move linearly. We're moving in a 40-year journey that if we were working with God and we're faithful to Him would actually only take us 11 days. You could get healing that the doctors will tell you this will take three years, or this will take this medication, this will take this movement. But if God heals you, you could be healed in a single second, in a single minute. So the 11-day journey. Um, this is so hard to not go into a deep, deep discussion about it. I'm gonna try to keep this kind of short and concise. So, another example here in the beginning was the word, and the word was God, and the word was with God. This is John 1 1. So John 1 1 is saying that at the very beginning in Genesis, the Word already existed. So before scripture was written, the Word already existed, which says to me that things are already in existence before they manifest physically. Then in John 1, verses 14, uh John says, or the author says, that the word became human, and that was Jesus walking on this earth. And so, Jesus, how did he exist during the New Testament and how did he exist in Genesis? There's so many times where uh Jesus is in the Old Testament, there's some uh pastors that talk about Jesus being in the Garden of Eden. I haven't looked into that yet, I need to know for sure, but the parts of the Old Testament where you will see an appearance of um the angel of the Lord. Anytime scripture says the angel of the Lord appeared, that's Jesus. So Jesus existed in many different timelines. And speaking of the timelines, I'm gonna share another example of you or with you about Moses. This example came from my pastor from my church here in Dubai. I have never sat in sermons where I'm like taking notes the way that I am because my pastor is so brilliant and such a good man of God. He, yeah, I just think he's amazing. He shared this uh story with us. We were talking about why God says no and how a no is actually a yes later. We just can't see it. He was talking about Moses. So when the Israelites were in the wilderness for 40 days, Moses was leading them. And um, what happened was God told Moses to, I'm blanking on what it was. God told Moses to do something. I think the people were thirsty, and so God told Moses to, I think, point the stick at the rock. Um, but what happened was Moses hit a rock twice with his rod or with his staff, and that's not what God told him to do. God said, To make the water come out of the rock, do this. I'm just blanking on what it was. I think it was just point the stick at the rock. Moses disobeyed, and so that one moment of disobedience cost Moses the promised land. And Moses go, or God told Moses, you will not enter the promised land. You will look at it and then you will you will not enter it. Joshua will lead the Israelites into the wilderness. So Moses had to be on that 40-year journey with the Israelites, knowing he was also not going to enter the promised land. And so I promise this has a good ending. Moses had two requests for God. He asked God, God, show me your face and take me to the land. And so when I read, uh, I think this was in Deuteronomy or Numbers, when I was reading these books, I thought, well, technically God did both for Moses. Like God saw the burning bush, so technically that could be God's face. Moses also saw the promised land from afar. He saw the land of Canaan, which later became Israel. So technically he saw the promised land. But that's not the full answer of how God delivered. So Moses dies. And that's all that I thought of it. Until my pastor said this, he goes, We cannot comprehend the fullness of God. God created time, which means we also can't comprehend the fullness of time and time, uh, like moving timelines, things like that. And I was like, all right, here we go. Let's talk about some quantum physics. And he said that there's a thousand-year gap between when Moses died and the transfiguration. What is the transfiguration? The transfiguration is when Jesus took a couple of his disciples up onto a mountain, and the disciples are up there with Jesus, and they're totally secluded from down below. And all of a sudden, Moses and Elijah appear before Jesus and the disciples, and the disciples they freak out because the Jews at this time they worshiped the Old Testament prophets. Like Moses and Elijah, they were like saints to the Jews. So they see Moses and Elijah on top of this mountain, and they're like, Oh my gosh, like uh you guys are so amazing, you're so amazing, and they're just shocked. And then God sends his voice and he goes, This is my son, whom I love dearly. And he cuts the disciples off. I think it was Peter who he cut off. And what God was doing was, okay, yes, Moses and Elijah are great, but my son, the Messiah, is standing in front of you right now, and you can't even see how great he is compared to Moses and Elijah. Get your attention back on my son. And that's not what God said, that's just me describing how it must have felt. And for the first time, the disciples, their eyes are open and they they realize, like, whoa, you are really, really the Messiah. And so the transfiguration, it was a really important moment. And when you look into where it happened, the transfiguration occurred in Lower Galilee in Israel. Oh, I'm getting chills talking about this. And my pastor goes, Moses was standing in the promised land 1,000 years later, after his death. And if you think that's good, this next part, Moses asked for two things. He said, Take me to the promised land, done. He's standing with Jesus on the mountain in the transfiguration. And Moses asked, Show me your face. And Moses comes face to face with Jesus. Moses asked for Canaan, God showed him Christ. That blew my mind. So many parts of that story, especially because Moses was in a different timeline that does not make logical sense. Like I can't understand how someone that died thousands of years ago is standing right now. It makes no sense when I think about it, because our minds cannot comprehend it. And God moves people across time, moves time, can bend time, can show you that time is limited and is not actually represented in the way that you think. But you must have faith in addition to the truth. That's the thing about quantum physics. I think scientists who are really passionate about quantum physics are most of the time spiritual scientists because there is no formula or explanation that can prove how it is possible. So my friend and I, we were at the beach this Sunday and we were just hanging out and talking, and she asks me this question. And now I like it has been on my mind for the last couple of days. She goes, Alexis, when Jesus died on Friday, he was raised on Sunday. Where was he during these three days? And I was like, I have never thought about this. And I'm just gonna leave that right there. Because if you think Jesus spent his three days like an ordinary 24-hour cycle that humans have, mm-mm. Where was he during these three days? Which timeline was he in during these three days? Alright. So again, science looks for evidence, and scripture says, Blessed are those who believe but have not seen. It says, for ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God. So that says to me that the earth, the sky, everything that God has created is evidence of his existence, which means that it disproves the Big Bang Theory, disproves evolution. Everything that was created intentionally was not random, was not an accident. There is a creator. His name is Yahweh, his name is the Lord God. He is the one who created everything that we see. And everything we see is evidence of the creator. That is how science beautifully works with Christianity, and same with spirituality. Something that is different in my faith now, as it is deeper, is I no longer believe in relative truth, meaning you have your truth, I have my truth, they're all true. I believe in absolute truth. The absolute truth is the word of God. There can only be one God. Something that spirituality says is all religions point to the same God. That is not true. God says there is one God. And Jesus says there is only one way to the Father, and that way is through me. If you do not know me, you do not know God. So if that is true, if Jesus is the only way to know God, then not every religion points to the same God. And remembering too that science and spirituality, if yourself or the universe or nothing is responsible for existence, it's going to leave you feeling empty and homesick. There's going to be a puzzle piece that feels like it's missing. In Judges 10, 13 through 14, God, so what happens is the Israelites, they just had major victory. They're in the promised lands, they're conquering all their land, they're driving out the enemies, and they start worshiping false gods again. And this is why the flesh is weak. They start worshiping false gods, they forget everything that God's done for them, and God goes, you know what? Call on those false gods to come and rescue you because you've lost my protection. And he tells them, Call on the false gods, let them come and rescue you. If you who you worship is the universe, yourself, or the science side where there is nothing to worship, everything is equal, everything is random. If that is what you worship, when you need saving, those sources will not save you. And if I had never discovered, let's say that I was not Christian, but I had heard an episode like this, what I may think is this is a lot to take in. Yes. And I would also think, you know what? Let me just try. Let me just call on God and see what happens. Let me just ask God for help and see what happens. If I have my uh mom would always tell this family member that we have who is not Christian, they are more atheist. My mom would always say, if I'm wrong, I've lived a life of peace and joy and contentment, living by how God's called me to live. But if you're wrong, she says this to the family member your eternity is not going to be good. So I would rather me be wrong. And even if all of this is not real, I would rather me be wrong than you be wrong. And there's eternal consequences, and that never left. My mind. Back on that point about when God told the Israelites, call on those false gods to worship you. When I was going through a spiritual attack, I talk about this in the episode Spiritual Warfare, How to Win the Battle for Your Soul. That I'm sorry if you hear the sirens in the back. They're uh going perfectly with this topic right now. Because this period of my life in 2024, I had so much anxiety. It literally felt like those sirens in my head all the time. I could not create, I could not get on the internet without feeling anxious. I like something. I remember my mom came to visit me in Dubai, and I took her to this uh souk, and we're walking through the souk, we're walking through the mall, and I just remember feeling so overwhelmed by this anxiety. And I think because I felt safe with my mom, I just finally let it all out. I start sobbing in this souk, and I'm like, I need to leave, I need to leave. So we go out of the shopping center, we're outside, I'm like, I just need air. And I don't know what exactly that was, if it was a panic attack or what, but I told her, I am so stressed out and anxious. Like I cannot get control of my mind, I cannot stop these thoughts from attacking me, that I'm not enough, that I'm under attack. Uh, just constantly my self-worth was being attacked. And I tried everything to fight the anxiety. I tried holistic approaches, I tried breath work, I did breath work classes, I tried meditation, I tried all the spiritual tools. Then I tried the science route. I tried getting to the root of the anxiety, pulling it up. Like I tried everything to fix my brain, nothing worked. I almost started taking um, what is it called? Ashwagandha, which I talked about in another episode, and I felt the Holy Spirit say, stop. God wanted to heal my anxiety, and I needed to see first that it was a spiritual attack, and it was. That is another story for another day. I talk about it in this spiritual warfare episode, how I healed from that. When the anxiety was gone, it was gone and it has never returned. Sometimes I will feel anxious, but that anxiety with my identity and with coaching and creating specifically, it completely left me. And I never thought that I would get back to a place of peace and confidence. The enemy, he has one job in scripture. It says he is set out to kill, to steal, and to destroy. And he's very, very good at throwing out spirituality and science as a remedy to say, these will help you. They won't. They will be a band-aid and you'll be stuck in a trap and in a loop trying to heal from something that only God can heal you from. Your faith and the word of God is what will free you, is what will empower you, it's what will save you. So I hope that this episode has helped bring some clarity around science, spirituality, Christianity, how they work together, what is truth versus what are the lies. And feel free to leave your comments and things that you've discovered, things that you've learned. I think it can really help each other, especially with this episode. So I love you, ladies, so much. I'm not ready to say bye to you yet. I feel like there's so much more that we can still talk about. Just know that I'm praying for you, that I love you so much. I love your questions. We're probably going to do a QA episode very soon. I'll post on my Instagram and ask you what you want to talk about on this podcast. So I love you so much. Have a beautiful week, and I'll see you in the next one.
