'And Can It Be?' was written by Charles Wesley and Thomas Campbell and is skillfully combined with the song 'My Savior's Love' which was written by Charles H. Gabriel. This great medley seamlessly weaves together two significant hymns focused on the theme of Christ's sacrificial love. The words to the chorus of 'And Can It Be?' are well-known for the deep devotion that states "Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God should'st die for me?"
The second song in this medley is 'My Savior's Love' (I Stand Amazed in the Presence) which resonates a similar perspective of being completely overwhelmed by God's grace.
'Amazing Love! Medley' is ONE of the selections released from a WORD Music Project entitled 'Majestic Hymns' and was Arranged and Orchestrated by David T. Clydesdale. The orchestra tracks for this medley were recorded in Prague, Czech Republic by the City of Prague Symphonic Orchestra and the vocals were recorded by WORD Music in Nashville, Tennessee.
'And Can It Be?' is a deeply personal hymn examining the subjects of grace, redemption, and a sinner's freedom from condemnation. It takes you on a journey from a state of spiritual imprisonment in sin, to the liberating experience of God's love and the assurance of salvation.
