Beautiful Me-Empowerment Ministry 🦋
Discernment-Learning to Recognize What Aligns With Your Healing 🦋🤍
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Not everything that was once part of your life is meant to stay in your healed life.
Healing changes your awareness. Conversations feel different. Environments feel different. Patterns you once tolerated start to feel misaligned.
That’s not you becoming difficult. That’s you becoming discerned. Growth will shift your life — and sometimes that means certain things can’t stay the same. And that’s okay.
That’s healing.

#40DaysToWholeness
Thank you, Jesus. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hey, family. Good morning. Happy Friday. We made it. Glory to God. This is indeed the day the Lord has made, and we are going to rejoice and be glad in it. I want to thank you for joining me on this 40-day journey of sanctification to wholeness. Hallelujah. We are on day 18. And of course, you know, this is your girl Monique. And this, of course, is the beautiful Me Empowerment Ministry where we're healing and growing and learning together. Amen. Today, I want to talk to you on the topic of discernment, learning to recognize what aligns with your healing. Glory to God. Father, we come before you today with hearts full of gratitude. Daddy, thank you. Thank you so much for sparing our lives. Thank you, God, for miracles upon miracles. The song says, I've got miracles. A million little miracles. And we are so grateful this morning. One of which is the miracle of life, the miracle of a new day. Thank you this morning for eyes that can see, ears that can hear, nose or we can smell, a mouth that we can open and use to talk, a tongue that can taste. Abba Father, thank you, oh God, for everything. Thank you that we can walk. The song says, if you can see and if you can talk, if you can hear and if you can walk, then be grateful. Be grateful for what you've got. Because to some folks, these things would mean a lot. Hallelujah. And so, God, we are grateful that all of our members are intact this morning. Thank you, Daddy God. You are truly amazing. There's another song that says, God is truly amazing. Hallelujah. You are indeed amazing, God. And from the bottom of my heart, I am grateful. I'm grateful, Abba Father, for your son Jesus Christ, whom you sent to die for us. Thank you this morning for the Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit, you are welcome in this space and in this place. Hallelujah. Your awesome presence is needed as we go even throughout this day and as we go throughout the weekend. And God, we thank you for your love. Thank you, oh God, that you thought about everything. You knew the moments that we didn't we wouldn't know what to pray and what to say. And so you sent us the sweet Holy Spirit who understands the groanings of our hearts and intercedes on our behalf. Thank you for Jesus Christ, Father. You knew we needed a redeemer, a savior, mighty God. You knew we needed somebody to tear the veil, mighty God. Hallelujah. And we want to thank you this morning that you sent your son Jesus Christ. And God, thank you for being our constant. Thank you for being mindful of us. Thank you for being so intentional, oh God, about us and about every single thing that concerns us. Thank you, God, that we are fully known by you. You even know the number of the strands of a hair that is on our head. What an awesome God! Thank you for you. Hallelujah. Thank you, God, this morning that you call us chosen, that we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation. Thank you this morning, Abba Father. That we are the head and not the tail. Thank you, God, that we are above and not beneath. Thank you, God, this morning that we are lenders and not borrowers. In the mighty name of Jesus, thank you, God, that we are blessed in the city, we are blessed in the gates, mighty God. Thank you, Abba Father, for grace and mercy that has brought us through, that has kept us. God, we are kept by you. And this morning we're so grateful and we're grateful for this journey, Abba Father. And even in this moment, God, we repent of our sins and we ask you, oh God, to forgive us. Daddy, we sin against you in a man. Like every day, we sin in our thoughts and in our deeds, and we're sorry. We ask you to forgive us this morning and that you will wash us and cleanse us, oh God, and move everything from us, Daddy, that is not of you, that does not represent you, that does not reflect you, everything that does not smell like you, don't taste like you, don't everything that is not kingdom, remove it from us, mighty God, and help us this morning to seek first, oh God, the kingdom of heaven, and then all other things will be added, mighty God. Holy Spirit, help us to stay connected to the true vine this morning, Abba Father, and God, we ask you to prune us every branch, oh God, that does not bear fruit. We ask you to prune us, remove it from us, mighty God, trim us down, Abba Father, oh God, and make us whole, hallelujah. Thank you for walking with us, God, through this journey of healing and sanctification, hallelujah. Thank you, thank you, God, for the courage to repent. Thank you, oh God, for purifying our hearts, thank you for renewing our minds and restoring our identity. Thank you, God, for teaching us how to forgive and how to establish healthy boundaries. You have been faithful every step of the way, and your word says in James 1, verse 5 that if any lack wisdom, let them ask, and you give generously. And today, God, like Solomon, we are asking for wisdom. Teach us, our Father, how to discern what aligns with the healing you are producing in us, mighty God. Help us to recognize what nurtures our growth and what quietly undermines it. Father, today we declare that you are sharpening our discernment and our spirit is becoming sensitive to your truth. We will no longer confuse familiarity with alignment, Holy Spirit. Guide our decisions, guide our relationships, and guide our steps. And we tell you thanks in Jesus' name. Hallelujah. Amen and amen and amen. So, not everything is meant to stay. One of the realities of healing that many people don't talk about is that as you grow, your life begins to shift. I asked God to change my appetite, and He did, and I I like healing is beautiful, and I'm going to say to you, pray about it, ask God to help you, help you to heal, heal and grow, heal from the things that don't serve you anymore. Healing is beautiful, and when you get to a place where you experience a healed version of yourself, oh my god, you will think and you will probably even start beating up on yourself and say, Why did I not go on this journey a long time ago? And I sat yesterday evening and I just thought about my journey and just the growth, and there are so many things, it's just the way how God has over time changed my appetite as it relates to so many things. Like I am moving from a place where I didn't love more, and now I love myself unconditionally, I love myself through God's lenses, and I mean it's kind of like I'm in that space now where certain things does not it does not appeal to me anymore. And when like I question, I question a lot of things, you know. Healing, I was sitting yesterday even and I was like, you know, this self-love, this becoming more, this journey, this growth. I mean, it has its positives and its negatives, you know. I'm gonna tell you that because I was there and I was just sitting, and it is good, and I was like, I know my worth, I finally know my worth, you know, I finally know my value, I am valuable in the kingdom, you are valuable in the kingdom. You know, the Bible talks about the lilies, and we are more valuable, and look how God takes care of them. And so I was there and I like I know my value, I know my worth, and I question, and I'm like, anybody, any man of God, any any partner that is going to be coming in my life, boy, I sorry for them. I'm gonna have to pray because I'm like, I know my worth, I know how I love myself through God's lenses, through through God's eyes, I know how I see myself, I know how I treat myself, and I know how God treats me. So anybody that is gonna come in my life, they're gonna have to come good because I refuse to settle, and that is the thing. As you grow, as you heal, your life begins to shift, your perspective changes, your tolerance changes, and your awareness increases, and it's beautiful. Healing is beautiful, showing up as a healed version of yourself every day is beautiful. Things that once felt normal begin to feel different. Conversations that once felt harmless may now feel draining. Let me tell you something. Anybody mention anybody's name to me, I disappear. I won't hear it. And I tell my kids when my kids come in my office and they want to talk about, I make sure I say to them, is this about another girl or another boy who is absent, who is not in this room? And if they say yes, I say hello, we ain't talking about nobody who is not in the room. Go get the person. So I'm teaching them, right? Environments that once felt familiar now feels heavy. Patterns you once participated in may now feel misaligned with the person you are becoming, and at first it can feel confusing, but because you you you may start asking yourself, why does this feel different now? Why can't I tolerate this the way I used to? Why does this situation feel uncomfortable now? And sometimes, you know, the people around us they may assume that something is wrong with them, but nothing is wrong, it's just that we are changing, and healing changes your internal compass as God renews your mind, purifies your heart, and restores your identity, your sensitivity to what is healthy begins to increase. What once felt normal may have only felt normal because you were accustomed to it. But when healing begins, your spirit shift, your mind starts recognizing what truly nurtures your growth and what quietly disrupts it. Growth naturally creates separation, and one of the most natural outcomes, as I said, of growth is separation, not you know dramatic separation, but they're small shifts. Certain conversations become less appealing, certain environments no longer hold the same attraction, certain habits begin to lose their pull, and this doesn't mean you are rejecting people or becoming distant, it just means that you're becoming aligned. You know, we talk about times and seasons, and when you talk about times and seasons, it it is also about people as well, and the the popular saying, people come into our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. So we have to shed as we become aligned, the version of you that was surviving, tolerated things that heal version of you can no longer sustain, and that's awareness, and awareness is such a beautiful thing. I talk to my kids about awareness and about knowledge. Knowledge is power, and it is not just academic knowledge, but it is also having knowledge, having an awareness of your surroundings, even of you, getting to know you, and on my healing journey, I have gotten to know more because I didn't know myself, and when now that I know me, like I know how I know what I need. Well, I asked the Holy Spirit, of course, to help me. I know, and and I move away, I'm able to make certain shifts and certain decisions, and I say to my kids, when you're aware of people and their behavior and their attitude, what they do doesn't surprise you. You use that, that like that that is like your ammunition, so if they behave a particular way, you're like, Okay, hmm, I know that this is how this person behaves, so you don't let it get to you at all, and that's awareness. Sometimes we tend to hold on to things simply because they have been part of our lives for a long time. Familiarity can feel comfortable even when it's unhealthy, but familiarity does not equal alignment. Something can be familiar and still be misaligned with who God is forming you to be, and that's why discernment is important. I pray for discernment every day. Discernment allows you to ask Does this relationship nurture my growth? Does this environment support my healing? Does this pattern reflect the person God is shaping me to become? Because not everything that once had a place in your life is meant to stay there forever, and you have to let go because letting go is part of growth. The scripture tells us that God is the master pruner, and yes, even though once we are connected to the true vine, which is Jesus Christ, and we the moment we're connected, and we should always try to stay connected so that we can bear fruit. And then the Bible tells us that God is the master pruner, and so and every tree that is not bearing fruit, every branch, he's gonna cut them off. Because if you keep walking around with dead branches, then the whole tree is going to get if um affect infected and you're not going to produce the way that you are supposed to produce, and so the master pruner has to remove some of those those branches, not some that are not that no longer serve you. It cannot go to the next level of growth, the next level that God is taking you. So God has to prune you, and pruning means removing some relationships, pruning means moving you out of certain environments, pruning for me meant changing my taste, and I like I said, I asked for God to change my taste in so many things, and I had to let go, I had to even let go of certain habits, and pruning is not easy by no means. I imagine if a tree could talk when um the farmer or when the person um is is is removing branches. If they could talk, they would probably be bawling and screaming and hollering because it's painful, but it is necessary when healing is taking place, some things will naturally fall away, some habits will change, some conversations will shift, some relationships will will evolve, and I mean this this is this is change, it's change, and it's not always dramatic, sometimes it's quiet, and over time, some of the time you don't even realize that that realize what is happening until maybe a couple months later you may sit and the Holy Spirit remind you that you remember you were changing you were talking about this or you were stressing about this or da-da-da. And you know, he's like I I removed it, and you didn't even realize. And sometimes I'm here, and you know, as I as I journal every day, you know, some of the the things that I've prayed and asked God for and ask him to change my mindset uh towards certain things and just how I respond towards certain things, and in the moment while you're praying, it can be a little bit frustrating because you're like, God, how is it that I'm I'm praying for this? You know, like I'm praying for kingdom, but as Paul said, you know, he the the good that he tries to do, somehow evil keeps presenting itself, and he also spoke about the thorn uh in his flesh, how many times he's asked God to remove it, but God not removed it, however, what it did was it drew him him closer to God, and that is what happens as you heal and as you grow. You know, God does some quiet work in us, and it may not seem as nothing is happening, but you while you are praying and you're developing intimacy, you're developing that relationship with God, He is doing His quiet work, and you will really you will realize that you know you become this person like this person who is excited about God, you know, your relationship with God has deepened. Praise and worship that used to seem so hard, it now comes. So much easier, and you start to experience a peace, a peace that surpasses understanding. That is God just doing his quiet work in you, and while you're increasing in kingdom, you realize that slowly undercover that the thorn sometimes is leaving, those attitudes and those habits and everything is leaving, and it's only like a couple of months or so or weeks that you are writing and you're talking to God and you're smiling and you're saying, Oh my god, I'm not doing this anymore. And it is just so exciting, you know. Um, and so it's not through the changes, it doesn't happen through dramatic endings. Sometimes it happens quietly where your priorities change, your value deepens, your desire for peace grows stronger than your desire to maintain familiarity. Like the sweetest thing for me is just leaving work. And yes, I socialize at work, I am the loudest person at work, probably. I'm the bubbly mo at work, but then I like at after work has ended, I come home and I just want to be in this space of peace. And I'm gonna be honest with you, sometimes I see some calls coming in, and I'm like, Yeah, I know that one. I ain't answered, I ain't taken that call, and I like I felt there was a moment in time, you know, when I would I would drop everything because I see a message coming in, and I'm like, oh my god, is this person alright? Oh my god, I need to respond to this message. No, I I listen, messages come in, and I'm not going to attend to the message until after I finish work. I'm sorry. If it is an emergency, yes, you can call. At one time that was never me, and I see how I'm changing, and I'm I'm excited about it, and I'm so grateful to God about it, and I pray that you will pray about this and you will trust the process because peace is important, the things that once this defined your environment, even those begin to adjust. And here's the thing God often removes before He replaces, and we see this throughout scripture. We see that God often allows certain things to shift before something new is established, and sometimes it's your posture. He takes you in those seasons where the posture of your heart, even as it relates to prayer and fasting, you know, it shifts right before he established something new, because before he takes you um into a new thing, and like it like it's preparation season, he takes you in those seasons where he prepares you, right? And and he he probably pulls you away from everything and everyone because growth requires space, and sometimes that space can only be created when certain things are no longer occupying it, so he will pull some relationships and situationships and and some things that we we that that we chased after. Healing is not just about about repairing wounds, it's about becoming the person God designed you to be. And I don't know about you, but I want to be everything that God has designed me to be, and as that transformation happened, your life begins to reflect it. Me want kingdom in Jamaican terms. Me want kingdom, I want kingdom, because kingdom is beautiful, and I've always said, I mean, beautiful me empowerment ministry is not about mo. There was a moment in time when, yeah, it was birthed throughout my journey, but it is not about me, it's a movement, it's you, beautiful me is you, all my listeners, beautiful me is me. Hallelujah, and so we see that as we become the person God designed us to be, our life begins to reflect it, our choices become wiser, our environments become healthier, our relationships become more aligned, and my dad would be so proud of me and a couple other persons because there was a moment in time, and I saw it the other day, and I just smile and I said, God, you are just so amazing. Because there was a moment in time when every outfit that I bought, I felt like I had to have my breast showing. And now I see where I'm so selective. I'm I there was a moment when I wasn't afraid even to wear, you know, those nice little dresses with the top part of my you know my breast showing or whatever. And I realized the other day, you know, I was just going back through some photos and I was like, Did I post this? Like I I went on Facebook or Instagram and I was like, Did I really post this? And I see where you know my taste, even as it relates to how I adorn myself as has changed, and that is the Holy Spirit, and it's you know, oh my god, listen, embrace the process, embrace the process. Not everything that once fits your life will continue to fit the healed version of you, and that's not loss, it's growth, and growth is beautiful because as God makes you whole, your life begins to align with that wholeness. I hope you are learning, hallelujah, and I hope that the Holy Spirit has used me this morning to convince you to take the bold step towards healing and to becoming the version of you that God created you to be. Healing brings clarity, and clarity leads to wise decisions. So, tomorrow we will continue learning on how to walk confidently in wholeness, in the wholeness that God is forming in us. Father, we thank you for sharpening our awareness. Help us to recognize what aligns with the healing you are producing in our lives, and give us wisdom to make decisions that honor the transformation you are working in us, guide our steps and guard our heart, and continue making us whole in Jesus' name. Amen. God bless you and I love you. Have an amazing weekend, and I will see you right here in this space Beautiful Me Empowerment Ministry Podcast on Monday.
