Beautiful Me-Empowerment Ministry 🦋
God is Not Burying You-He is Building You. 🦋🤍
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
The pit experience is often God building your capacity for purpose.
We pray for purpose, influence, healing, marriage, impact—but often resist the process that prepares us to sustain it.
Like Joseph, the pit may feel painful, lonely, and unfair… but it is not wasted.
In hidden seasons, God is strengthening your faith, healing your heart, developing endurance, and preparing you for what’s ahead.
The pit is not your final destination.
It is preparation.
God is not burying you—He is building you.

Good morning, good morning, good morning. Happy, happy Monday. Welcome to the Beautiful Me Empowerment Ministry Podcast, the space where faith meets healing, where we grow and learn together. Of course, I am your host, Monique Anderson. It has been a while, but listen, sometimes God calls you to rest, and the truth is sometimes we don't know how to rest. I have been resting, or I've been trying to rest. I've been asking the Holy Spirit to teach me how to rest. You'd be surprised to know how hard it is to just rest, right? Um, but I hope that everyone has been doing well. Uh, the truth is, life is life in the other day. I went out for a jog because your girl was going through some stuff, and I was sitting at table with the Lord, just trying to, you know, do my devotional, write my letter to Jesus, pray, uh, read the scripture, and just trying to focus on the goodness of God, and it was so hard. I had tears just rolling down my eyes, and I just felt like there was a moment as I was writing, and I was telling God, thank you for all your goodness, all your blessings, because they are many. I started writing that you know, even though I am grateful because I can see your goodness right here in the land of the living, but I felt like I was in a pit, I felt like I was in a pit of um depression, I felt like I was in a pit of discouragement, I felt like I was in a pit of failed attempts, I was in a pit of broken dreams, a pit of darkness, and I cried out to God, and you know, the Holy Spirit, I was just there, and I was just telling God that this was how I was feeling. And the Holy Spirit said to me, He said, Go outside and jog, just go outside, a different scenery, fresh air, and you know, I I obeyed because you know the importance of obedience, right? So I went outside and I jogged. Your girl jogged for uh your girl literally did a 5k. Glory to God. I don't know where I got the strength from, but hey, guess what? Our strength comes from the Lord, and so I went out and I jogged, I jogged, and it felt good, and I heard the Lord just reminding me that he is my help, he's my Ebenezer, and Ebenezer means stone of help. And as I was out there, I started just repeating the scripture. You know, I will lift up mine eyes to the hills from whence cometh my help. My help comes from the Lord, the maker, the creator of heaven and earth, and it continues that you know, he will not suffer thy foot to be moved. The Lord who keepeth thee will not slumber nor sleep, the sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. He shall preserve thy soul even forevermore. And you know, the Lord just started to minister in my spirit for me to just start making some declarations over my life, you know, and just declaring who I am because the devil is after your purpose, and he's also after your identity, and if he can fill your head with lies, the lies to say that you're a failure, to say that you're too broken, the lies to say that you're a disappointment, you are not good enough. If he can, if he can fill your head with all of these lies and cause you to start thinking that you are less than who God has called you to be, like he's he's an identity, he he steals your identity. You know, they talk about identity theft. So that's what he does, he tries to steal your identity, and so the Lord just the Lord was just ministering to me as I was out there and I was jogging and just feeling it. I mean, it the brut the the wind it hit differently, it was almost as if it was just the Holy Spirit, and we were just out there, and it was just an amazing feeling, and I just started declaring, you know, that I am a child of God, I am blessed in the city, I am blessed in the gates, I am blessed in my going out, I am blessed in my coming in, I am an overcomer, I am redeemed, I am victorious. And I just started to declare some things over to just to just make some declarations and to just speak, you know, as the Holy Spirit would lead to just speak into my spirit about who I am, remind me of who I am in God, right? And I I I put my hand on my head, child, and I started just to say that I have the mind of Christ because, like I said, you know, life is life in, right? Life is happening, and you know, when disappointment comes, listen, whenever one thing starts happening, is like 10 more things starts going wrong. There's a popular saying, um, in Jamaica and probably elsewhere, when it rains, it pours. So for me, it's like everything was coming all at once, and I felt so discouraged. I felt uh I just I felt stuck, I felt left behind, but feelings aren't always facts, and so you know, it's like I was trying to you know, I I had the the conference was really good, I've said that before, and then you know, it was like I was in that space where okay, so I did the conference victory, received some disappointing news. However, God has spoken, right? God has spoken, but I have a it's like you have the visions, you get confirmation, you hear the prophetic, and you see little doors opening, and so you know, you know that you know that you know that you know that all things will work together for your good, like you know, you know all the scriptures, you know the songs, and we sing the song even when you can't see it, he's working, but you know how we are, it's like we want to see the whole map, right? And so, yes, there was the victory, and there were some disappointments, but the God God is God is moving, however, it is like I was just in the space where I felt like all right, God said rest, but I did not know what rest looked like, and it's it's just it's it's crazy, isn't it? Yeah, and so I was in this space trying to help God, and me trying to help God, it became frustrating because I didn't know the I I didn't have the know-how, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't have the resources, I didn't have any of the resources to to be out here helping God. I'm not even supposed to be helping God, and it reminded me of the story again of Abraham, right? Where God told Abraham and Sarah that God told Abraham actually that you're gonna be the father of many nations, however, you know, here is Abraham looking at his age, and that's the thing because we have our own timeline of when we want the thing to happen, or when we think the promise should be fulfilled, and so we're looking at our age, and not only that, but we are comparing our journey with others, right? And so we're in this place now, and we're like, Okay, Abraham and Sarah, they're like, Alright, so we get the promise, but years are passing by, and we don't see anything happening. Sarah is getting old, Abraham is getting old, and we know how childbearing works, yeah. After a while, if in our lenses, in our eyes, it's it's impossible after a certain age, right? And so Abraham and Sarah ended up helping God, and we hear this in scripture where Sarah encouraged Abraham to go and be with Agar, right? The maid, and then from Agar came Ishmael. However, Ishmael was not the promised son, my God, and and Abraham even went to God, like went to God again because he was like, God, I'm going up in age. You promised me, you said to me that I am going to be the father of many nations. But look at our age, like, and we don't see nothing happening. It's like God promised you something, and he's not a man that he should lie, mind you, neither is he the son of man that he should repent. Let me tell you something. If he says I'm gonna happen, it is going to happen, but again, not on our timeline, and in God's economy, his time and our time works differently because for us, what seems like 10 years for God is just a snap of the finger. Yeah, and so Abraham went back and he's like, God, we're going up in age. You said I'm going to be the father of many nations, but nothing is happening. And here I am, in between the space where you tell me to move and go to this land, and I'm obedient, and I went, I packed up everything, and I go, I go to this land, I'm obedient to you, and obedience is better than sacrifice, so I am obedient, and here I am. Yes, things happening, you know, we're progressing, and everything, the land, all of the good stuff happening, and then now here you promise me that I am going to be the father of many nations, but I am right here in the in-between space, and the in-between space, it looks nothing like I am going to be the father of many nations. It's like for us, you know, God. Maybe you have a ministry and you were obedient to start the ministry, to start the business, right? You you make the move and you see where the ministry, you know, the ministry is is is is is blooming, there is growth, but then it's like God it has said that, all right, so you start the ministry, right? And you're doing what God tells you to do, you know, persons, you're getting good feedback and everything, and whatever. On like me, you know, I host a conference, the conference was victorious, but then here we are now where God says, Alright, I am going to take you to many nations, your ministry is gonna go to many nations, your business is going to expand, but here you are still with the small business when God promised you expansion, and you don't see like your financial status does not look nothing like expanding, like you can't use what you have right now to expand anything at all, and you're like God, but you promise me this, and here I am in the in-between space, and it is hard. The in-between space looks like a wilderness, the in-between space looks like a pit, it almost looks like a pit, right? And and and we know if we look at the story of Joseph. So Joseph got the dreams, he got the revelations, right? The prophecies, the confirmation. Yeah, however, guess what? Sometimes the journey to the to the to the to the palace for Joseph, Joseph endured so much, he was thrown in a pit, even by the very persons, the family members who were supposed to be there for him, right? He went through so much before he ended up at the palace, and so the tendency sometimes is for us to try to help ourselves because here I am, my god, in the in-between, and it's an uncomfortable place, right? It doesn't look like promise, it doesn't look like for Abraham. I'm gonna be the father of many nations, and so Abraham helped himself. I mean, and even before he helped himself, I believe he went back to God again and he said, This does not look nothing, my situation, age, and all of that. It doesn't look nothing like I am going to be the father of many nations. And God took him outside. God said, Look in the sky and look at the stars, and he said to him that if you can count all of these stars, that is the number that that's what's gonna happen. Right? But Abraham felt disappointed, he probably felt exhausted, tired of waiting, much like all of us sometimes. And so he tried to help himself, and so here I was trying to help myself. Listen, yesterday I had to literally say, God, thank you for knocking some sense in me. But let me tell you, it is okay, though. Like, it is okay because when you get in that space, it is a space that causes you to trust God. I mean, radical trust in God and to just really have faith in God, right? And it is in that place where you grow, because the reality is the pit is not proof that God has forgotten you. Sometimes it's the proof that He is preparing you, and we offer romanticize purpose, but we ignore the process that birth the purpose. So everyone wants the palace, but very few want the pit. But in the scripture, like it shows us that many of God's chosen people they encountered a pit season before they stepped into purpose. David was anointed king, but had to survive caves and rejection and warfare before wearing the crown. Jeremiah was thrown in a cistern before fulfilling his prophetic assignment. And if we look at Jesus' life, even Jesus experienced wilderness, he experienced betrayal and suffering before resurrection glory. The pit is where God stretches your faith, the pit is where God confronts your pride, the pit heals your need for validation, the pit teaches you endurance. God develops emotional and spiritual maturity in the pit, and this is where God strips away what cannot go where He's taking you. The pit reveals what applause can hide, so it exposes our insecurity. Let me tell you something. Oh my god, it confronts your impatience, and I tell you, I say, God, you have been teaching me a lesson in patience for many, many, many years now, and I don't think I've gotten it right as yet. Oh my word, it reveals idols because guess what? You see, the thing that God is giving us, the promise that He has made, some got God has to ready us because what may happen is we may idolize that very thing. So if it is the business, if it is the ministry, if it is a child, if it is your finances, whatever it is, and this is how intentional God is about you. You think God wants us to miss heaven? He does not want us to miss heaven, he doesn't want us to miss out on the blessings, and so we have to go through the pit experience sometimes where he grows us and he develops us, and and we have to deal with some things, he has to strip us down because he doesn't want when we get the thing that he promised us, it becomes an idol, and so we start worshiping the gift instead of the gift the the the gifter. Is that a word? Or we are the blesser. We don't start, we don't start worshiping the ministry instead of worshiping God, we don't start worshiping the marriage instead of worshiping God, we don't start worshiping the kids instead of worshiping God. Well, listen, God knows us in on He will strip us down, He will strip us down, right? And this is what the pit does it teaches us to hear how to hear God when everything around us feels silenced, and I heard God when I went out and I jogged, I jogged for three days, y'all, and it felt really good. It felt really good. Um, it settled my spirit, however, like I said, I've been sick. So in psychology, uh, they talk about psychosomatic, right? And so, what happens is the mental emotional pain, that one that is in your head, in your mind, that you you just sometimes you don't even have language for those emotions, it starts trickling down into the physical, so you start feeling physical pain, right? And I went to the hospital, spent four hours at the hospital only for the doctor to tell me that I don't see nothing wrong with you, girl. And it was only when I was out there jogging that the Lord reminded me that last year when you were so broken, remember you were feeling the same way, so you were experiencing the stomach cramps, the vomiting, the nausea, you know, the dizziness, the weakness, the loss of appetite, and everything. And I was like, Ah, there we go. And let me tell you something, when you're in that space, sometimes it's so hard to shift. I started writing the prayers, like even the worship couldn't come. Let me tell you something. I experienced some migraine, I was just so sick, and I knew as the Holy Spirit told me that this was all emotional stuff, and I tried to help God, but it never worked. And like I said yesterday, I had to say to God, I said, God. Thank you for loving me. Listen, I was in the shower yesterday, and God said, Girl, I am passionate about you, I'm desirous about you. Listen, God, God delights in you. Oh my god, you know how we love our children, how we love upon them, how we protect them with their life, and you know, we delight we enjoy our kids, and and even for those persons who have their spouses, you know how you're passionate about your spouses, you desire your spouse, you love upon your spouse, and them thing there is the same way how God feels about you, my God. I'm gonna say yesterday morning I was in the bathroom, and when the Holy Spirit said, God is passionate about your girl. Lisa, I start worshiping. Let me tell you something. I put on a piece of worship, you know. Oh my god, and that was my breakthrough. And it's good to have community. Let me tell you something. I am so grateful God has blessed me with a community. People, we need each other because one of those mornings, I know that this is not even what I plan to talk about this morning, but I pray it blesses someone. So, as I was out there the first morning and I posted on my status, you know, Ebenezer, and a woman of God messaged me and she said, Oh my god, girl, I need help. I am struggling so bad. And in that moment, you know, I was like, you know, everybody's going through something. My my my situation may be very different from yours, but every single person is going through something, and you know, I'm I reached out to her, and I and the song came to me. You're my brother, you're my sister. Let come to um come take me by the hand. Together we will work until he comes. There's no foe that can defeat us if we're walking side by side. As long as there is love, we will stand. It is so important that we show up for each other, pray for each other. Listen, I may not be able to give you something tangible. Maybe you're experiencing financial struggles, but I don't have the money to give you, but I can pray. And when somebody prays for you, let me tell you something. It is the best gift that they can give you because prayers open doors, prayers give breakthrough. Because sometimes, yes, we get in that space of prayerlessness, and it's like we want to pray, but our mouth just cannot open. It's like there's a podlock on it, and so uh let me tell you something, man. I believe that persons have been praying for me. Another song that I love. Somebody prayed for me, they had me on their mind, they sacrificed their time, they got down on their knees and prayed for me. They had no doubt that God would bring me out, that he would save my life and set me free. I'm so glad that someone prayed for me. So I'm encouraging you this morning, encouraging you this morning, pray for somebody. You don't have to know what they are going through, but just be intentional and call their name in prayer to God. And so I reach out to the woman of God and I was like, My God, instead of us backbiting each other and comparing and competing and being jealous and everything, we need to just lift up each other in prayer and love on each other because unity is strength. The devil thrives in division, he enjoys when we're we're backstabbing each other, when we're competing and all of that. Listen, none of us know better than none in the kingdom of God. Seeing blood run through our veins, we are all one, and so it is important that we that we lift up each other because every single person in this world is fighting a battle. They may not tell you because persons we we show up every day and we put on our mask, we dress up and we smile. Nobody could tell that I was experiencing that kind of pain and everything last week if I didn't say, Because let me tell you something, girl gonna show up, and I showed up, but a lot was going on, it's like my whole world was crumbling, and so we need to show up for each other, amen. See, I gone straight, you know, but anyways, so I'm back and I'm almost finished, but yeah, so sometimes the truth is, you know, the pit it feels like unanswered prayers, delayed promises, closed doors, betrayal, grief, waiting, loneliness, starting over, watching others move ahead while you feel buried. But like I said, listen, God delights in you, and he is a promise keeper. And yesterday, so I went to a book launch on um on Saturday, and the the yesterday the Lord would have spoken to me through the day one of the scripture. Listen, God pulled me out yesterday, no man. Listen, let me tell you something. And the scripture was um from Isaiah 59, verse 19, where he says, So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west and his glory from the rising of the sun. And this is the part when the enemy shall come in like a flood, my god, the spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Hallelujah, my god. I'm gonna say yesterday when I read that, oh my god, I was jumping, I was worshiping, I was screaming because right there, in the middle of my going through and going through and going through in the middle of the grief, in the middle of the betrayal, in the middle of the closed door, the loneliness, the starting over. Let me tell you something, man. God was out there in the middle of the lies, in the middle of the pit experience. God was up there lifting up a standard against the enemy. My God, I'm excited, I'm excited. Oh God. So I want to encourage you. Just remember, buried is not the same as abandoned. God delights in you, He's passionate about you, He loves you. A seed must go into dark soil before it produces fruit. Right? What if this season is not punishment? What if this season is preparation? What if God is building the capacity required for where you're going? Because purpose is heavy, influence is heavy, leadership is heavy, motherhood is heavy, marriage is heavy, healing others is heavy, and God loves you too much to give you what your current capacity cannot sustain. Let me say that again. God loves you too much to give you what your current capacity cannot sustain. Hallelujah. The pit teaches you how to carry oil without becoming arrogant, how to carry influence without losing humility, how to carry blessing without forgetting dependence on God. And when God finally lifts you, you'll realize the pit did not destroy you. My God, look at Abraham. Abraham finally, when he stopped, help God and rest. And another day we'll talk about the sacrifice because let me tell you, God, have a sense of humor because you know that thing that you've been praying for and trying to help God for everything, God will turn around and ask you to sacrifice it. But that's for another day. Glory to God. Glory to God. But when God finally lifts you, you'll realize that the pit didn't destroy you, but it built you. God has to do some root work in order because there are some things under the soil of our lives, of our heart, of our soul, and so God has to do some root work in order for us to bring forth healthy fruits. And so I've seen over the past couple of days where, yes, maybe I could have prayed out loud, but there came a point where I saw where you know it the pit, it deepened my prayer life, it strengthened my discernment, and it taught me to surrender, it introduced me to parts of God that I did not even know. Yes, it was painful, but it was purposeful. And the truth is, I'll tell you that one day you will look back and you will say, Had God not hidden me there, I would not have survived where he was taking me. So hold on. Your pit has an expiration date, yeah? But and in the moment, God is building your capacity for the calling that is attached to your life. My God, hallelujah. I did not even pray. You see, the Holy Spirit just go out with himself in all, but God, I want to thank you. Thank you for your goodness, thank you for your love, thank you for your grace, thank you for your faithfulness and your kindness, thank you for who you are. You are indeed a good, good father, and we appreciate you, Daddy God. Thank you for your mercies, your mercies that endures forever. And God, today we are so grateful. Thank you for keeping us, thank you for open doors, thank you for the ones you've closed, God. We appreciate you. We thank you for our families and our jobs. We thank you, oh God, for everything, every blessing, mighty God. Thank you this morning. We're so grateful, thank you, God, that this morning, we're alive and we are well. We may not see the bigger picture right now, but you do, and so God help us to trust you this morning with all our hearts and to lean out to our own understanding, but in all our ways, acknowledge you, and we know you will direct our path. So, God, run things in our lives like only you know how to. In Jesus' name, amen. God bless you, God bless you, God bless you. I hope you were encouraged this morning. I appreciate you and have an amazing week in the Lord. Of course, you know this is your girl Monique. You know I love you, but God loves you even more.
