Some cancer patients lose the battle not because they're just on the wrong drugs or because they miss the mutations, but sometimes not having the mind in the right space and having domination of fear can really impact your cancer treatment. And fear begins to dominate the mind. And that's not uncommon. It's gonna happen with cancer patients, but you need to take control. And that's what this episode's about is getting the right mindset for healing. Now, here's the part most people don't realize fear isn't just an emotion, fear has biology. Chronic fear disrupts sleep, raises cortisol, inflammation levels, stresses other hormones, suppresses your immune system. So you see, we need to get fear under control because we need to get the body to do the healing that it was designed to do. And we need to move the fear out. And I'm gonna talk about that today in this episode. In that sense, fear can become like a second cancer, not the disease itself, but a force that weakens the body's ability to fight. I've been doing this for over 25, probably 27, 28 years now, working with late-stage cancer patients and our teams. And I can tell you those with the right mindsets always do better. They respond to treatment better, and they always get a better chance of a quality of life because their mindset is about healing. So today I want you to have that same mindset so you can have healing too and overcome the obstacles that are gonna be in your way along the journey to healing. That's something we don't normally talk about is how do we win the battle of the mind? How to defeat both the biology of cancer with precision, like I've talked about in other episodes, targeting and treating the cancer correctly, but also the biology of fear, if you will. We're gonna do three things today. First, we're gonna separate truths from dangerous ideas because I don't want you to have any of those. I want you to have a mindset of healing. Second, we're gonna talk about the real science connected to the brain and the immune system and healing. And third, I'm gonna give you some daily battle plans, things you can put to work right away to help use both faith and prayer, and also the things that we can do to improve our mental health. Because the strongest patients I've seen, like I said, over 25 plus years, are the ones that have the right mindset, those that refuse to let fear make their decisions, but operate in faith. I'm Dr. Dino Prado, founder of Invita Medical Center. For the last 25 years, my team and I have helped patients that fail some of the top cancer hospitals across the country by using precision targeting. We actually are able to target their care and their outcome improves. And it's because oftentimes they were on the wrong medication. 90 plus percent of the patients we see are on the wrong medications before they come to us because they didn't have testing. And so precision oncology, in my opinion, is really important to helping patients. Before you change anything, make sure you're working with a doctor. And so let's get started. So today we're gonna talk about this hidden switch that most people overlook. The hidden switch that isn't a drug, it's not a supplement, you're not gonna get this at a medical center. It's the hidden switch that's related to a patient's ability to stop reacting to fear and to start responding to the plan. It's the moment your mind shifts from what if everything goes wrong, to what is the next step in my fight to win? See, that's a very big difference there. You can't stop every thought from entering your mind, but you can stop the wrong thoughts from taking control. And that's where this process begins. Take every thought captive, don't let it run you. Recorrect it, remove the lie and replace it with the truth. So here's a simple framework I like to teach patients. Three steps. Number one, identify the lie. You're gonna die. Okay, cancer has the ability to take somebody's life, but that doesn't necessarily mean you're gonna die because everybody's different. Everybody has different targets, different treatment plans, different strategies, and you are one of those that has a great plan. So you identify that lie and you don't let it enter. So you move it out. And I always like to add, in the name of Jesus, I move out the spirit of fear, death, worry, and I plant it with hope. My body is capable of healing. I'm giving it everything it needs so that it can heal and restore. This isn't just positive thinking, it's shifting that mindset. Fear often whispers things like, Oh, this is hopeless. There's nothing you can do, you're alone. To me, those are like demonic thoughts. They're trying to steal your life way before it's time. Those thoughts may feel real, but you have control. And so, number one, identify the lie and call it a lie. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Second Timothy 1:7, fear tries to steal your clarity, truth restores it. See, we can take healing scriptures and replace those lies with those scriptures. God only knows when it's our time. We're not gonna let fear dominate us. Step three, find what the next move is. So after you've identified the lie and you've replaced it with the word of God or healing or an encouraging word, go to prayer. This is not just positive thinking, this is a spiritual alignment. Spend some quiet time in your mind to listen to the word of God in your heart, which will bring peace. That's the peace that surpasses all understanding. Prayer allows God to speak into our lives. Many times it's early in the morning, it could be three or four, and I'm praying quietly in bed. And I'm just talking to the Lord and I listen to him speak in my spirit, and I he'll give me direction and peace. And as I'm praying for all our patients, all our staff, all my family members, everybody, I'm listening to the word of God being spoken to me. That's the tool I want you to build. So the fear will come in and say, You've got cancer, this is gonna kill you, it's gonna take your life away, it's hopeless, and you say, No, that's a lie. I move that out in the name of Jesus. I'm gonna listen to the word of God and then I'm gonna quietly pray. Sometimes the answer doesn't come right away, but as you keep praying and stay humble and listening to God, you'll get a sense of purpose and peace that'll give you the direction for the journey. It'll direct you to the right care, and it'll also give you direction during care so you have strength for the journey. See, I believe that God is always talking to us, but we're just not listening because we're a little busy and we need to stop being so busy and listen. All our life, from the moment we were born, we had no idea we were coming into the world. Let's be honest, nobody here knows when we were to be born, and we don't know exactly when the Lord's gonna take us home, but we operate in faith and we let God speak to us in peace. The other critical step is community, a faith-filled community. So, what does this mean? I come from an Italian family, so I wouldn't want any lamenters around me that would be bringing things down. I'd want to be around people that are uplifting, encouraging, praying with me, helping me fight the battle and not amplifying the fear. So get a community around you. Sometimes that might be your church or in your neighborhood or somebody you love, and just that's the encouraging word you want. People that are operating in the hope and love of God, and then surround yourself with the word of God. Where two or three are gathered in my name, there I am, says the Lord. We know that scripture. So pray. And I recommend anybody, listen, I know people have different religious backgrounds, they have different kinds of faith, but God loves us all. If we can listen in our spirit, we can hear Him speak to us and give us guidance for our life. So we don't have to operate in fear. This is the connection of moving away from fear and operating in faith. Now you start looking at things that you are looking forward to in your life, the blessings, and you start counting your blessings. And you thank the Lord that as you're walking through this moment of suffering, that there's joy on the other end. There is always that resurrection, that joy that's coming because you've been healed. You look at life from a different perspective. You're able to impact the people around you from your experience. There's a lot of power when someone goes through a difficult moment that they can use that to lift up the people around them. So I just want to say that's the tools. And now there's many more, but those are the tools I'd like for patients to really build on. In fact, I always say find a great pastor online or a priest or somebody you love listening to and get them on your YouTube and start listening to their positive words, their encouraging words to lift you up. Scriptures that are healing, encouragement. These are good things to surround yourself with because in the end of the day, whenever it is our time to go home to the Lord, we're gonna be at peace and we wanna hear that voice of God speaking to us. So we are at peace with God. That's an important thing, and that's part of that journey. We don't want to ignore that. Now, I want to address this. There's a lot of stuff out there in integrative medicine, new German medicine, or this is the idea that the theory of you know, cancer is caused purely by emotional traumas, and that by resolving those emotional conflicts, you can eliminate the disease and the cancer goes away. And so let me explain this to you in a way. Yes, we can have traumas in our life that affect our body. We can have, you know, somebody who died in our life a long time ago, and we can have grief, and grief can make our immune system weaker and increase our chance for cancer. For some people, traumas and emotional traumas can be a big factor that need to be healed in their journey of healing, but they're not isolated. It's not just the trauma that brings about a cancer, it's a combination of things. It's diet and lifestyle, it's stress, it's emotional stress. And see, that's where these traumas come in. Lack of sleep, lack of good immunity, lack of good hormones, too much inflammation, all these epigenetic changes that are changing our body in the direction of cancer. And that's where, yes, identifying root causes to your disease are important. So, for example, and this I've seen over the years, if a patient's had somebody who's abused them at a young age, they don't need to necessarily go and talk to that person, but they need to forgive them in their heart and give them to the Lord. So the Lord will deal with it. Remember, the Lord is our strength, He will deal with the person who's harmed you. You let him go, and now you receive the love of God. So you don't have to carry the weight. The main idea here is you don't have to carry these traumas alone. You can give them to the Lord, let the Lord carry them, and you carry God's healing and love that He has for you. That's the transition. That doesn't mean that we do foolish things, we use wisdom, but in our heart, in our mind, we want to be totally open to receiving healing and we don't want traumas to block that healing. So that's what makes most sense, but just not the idea that there's some new German medicine that finds an emotion linked to a problem in your body and you eliminate that emotion and that problem heals. I think it's very important that we pay attention to the traumas in our lives, the voice that we're listening to that could be harmful and cleaning all that up so we can move ourselves to healing and living our best life. That's where God comes in because I believe the Lord loves us so much. He has every hair on our head counted, he knows us better than we know ourselves. And that's where the spiritual healing happens when we can surrender. So cancer involves a real understanding of your life because it brings you to that idea of is the Lord gonna take me home? Is this disease the end for me? And if you start listening to God, I believe many patients will see a path of healing and they will be giving encouragement of the next direction they need to take to heal their illness physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Those are the things. God is in charge of everything. He's the best doctor, he's the ultimate doctor. I've seen patients that have been prayed with and are total healings from cancer. It's not something I haven't seen. But I also believe God is working through your doctors and working through your family members and through your church community if you allow him to. And he's also wanting to speak to you in your heart. So this is where we get good planning. We stop the lie of fear, we replace it with a truth, we go into prayer and we listen to the Lord speak to us. When the Lord speaks to us, he might reveal to us areas of people we need to forgive. You know who those are, usually family members, people close to us, people we have to let go of, people that have hurt us, and we surrender that to the Lord. And then we come back to that plan and we re-change our diet and lifestyle, get our immune system strong, get a proper treatment plan. So we're working in precision, not just random care, and we're doing all those things to bring about healing. So fear does not need to dominate because we have a plan. We give everything to the Lord and we receive what Jesus says is that peace that surpasses all understanding, which gives us wisdom and clarity. So we're not reacting, we're acting with a direction that makes sense for our healing. So this is why I want to emphasize that because it's not just about tumor biology and immunity and inflammation. Yes, but there also is an emotional component. And we want to trust in the Lord so that He can heal us. And now diet in Lifestyle, now immunity, now the right treatments, and all these things are working in your favor in a concert to bring you healing. So that's the part I want you to grasp. In this episode, I want you to think about fear is something that you need a plan. You don't want just to happen randomly, so that you can remove that stressor because stressors impact immunity and healing. And as you remove that stressor and you start listening to the Lord, you start having hope and real hope, and you have a good plan and good diet and good lifestyle, and all these things which improve your overall health. Now, I talked about gut microbiome often and how important that is to the brain. As you improve the gut microbiome and you improve that diet, which I really think you should watch some of my other episodes on that, you're now gonna improve serotonin, other things in the brain that are gonna give you a good natural antidepressant, if you will. You're gonna feel more uplifted, more energetic, and that's gonna help you with proper nutrition, gut microbiomes, reducing the inflammation and building your immune system. Those are an important part of the diet. And then getting the right treatment so that you're targeted using practical steps to get the right treatment plans, support our emotional resilience, remove the fear, build a strong immune system. And now we're giving our body the opportunity to heal. You know, our bodies are amazing. They are designed by God to heal if we give them the right things. And we don't need to operate in fear. We can trust in the Lord and the time that He's given us, and we can trust in the Lord that He has our best interest in mind. Through quiet prayer, God will speak to you. He will give you revelation about your life. As you meditate on his word, he will give you his voice that can replace the negative voices that we often hear. That's what I want you to get from this episode. I hope you found this episode helpful and encouraging. Please share this with others because these fears can not just happen to cancer patients, they can happen to anybody. But if we have a plan and it's as simple as I went over, and we follow the right plan for ourselves, we can transform that fear into actual motivation to help us heal and live a better life. I hope you found this episode helpful, and may the Lord bless you on your journey to healing.
