I'm Dr. Dino Prato, founder of Envita Medical Center, and after 25 years treating thousands of patients, including many who were told there was nothing left to be done at top hospitals, I wanted to sit down and talk about what actually drives cancer risk, the part most people never get explained to them in a normal doctor's visit.
In this one I break down what I call the fastest way to get cancer in 2026, not because anyone wants that, but because when you understand what stacks the deck against you, you understand what to remove. The truth is cancer usually doesn't appear out of nowhere. It's rarely one villain. It's the combination, the metabolic dysfunction, poor sleep, chronic toxic load, chronic stress, gut damage, and a sedentary lifestyle all piling up year after year until the body's terrain turns against you.
I walk through all six, why each one matters, and the simple daily changes that move the needle on every one of them. Then at the end I share the specific tools I actually use with patients to help the body repair and heal, the building blocks for reducing inflammation, restoring your cell membranes, and strengthening immunity, plus why deep testing and modern cancer screening matter even for people who seem to be doing everything right.
Because some people do everything right and still develop cancer, and that's usually because nobody looked deep enough to find the real root cause.
Before you change anything, work with a good doctor. This video is for education, not a substitute for personal medical care.

So in today's modern world, if someone wanted to give themselves cancer in the fastest way possible, they would do it with poor diet and lifestyles. They're infections we get exposed to that we don't even know. Heavy metals, microplastics, pesticides, herbicides, chronic stress, poor sleep, and all these things are changes that are going to happen with no movement, no vitamin D and sunlight. Now let me be careful. None of these things actually on their own are causing cancer at the moment, but there's the combination, and it's all of them stacked that increase the risk for cancer. But if you remove them and improve these aspects, you can clearly do a lot to help you. If you have a stack of all these together year after year, they can absolutely increase our risk of many chronic diseases. One of them is cancer itself. I'm Dr. Dino Prado, founder of InVita Medical Center. For the last 25 years, my team and I have treated thousands of patients, including many who failed to top hospitals across the country that were told there was nothing left to be done. And with precision targeting and testing, we've been able to help many of our patients. In this video, I'm gonna walk you through the fastest way to get cancer in 2026. The lifestyle patterns that suggest the strongest evidence, like smokers, people that are obese. Because the truth is cancer usually does not appear out of nowhere. I'm also gonna end this episode giving you my idea of what you can do to prevent these with some real simple things, but I'm gonna try to take it to the next level of things you can do to heal and restore the body. Now, before we get started, make sure you're working with a doctor before you change anything. And let's get into this episode. So, this is what I want people to understand. In 2026, doesn't mean in our normal lifestyle, we're not being exposed to highly processed foods. Chemicals, toxins, refined foods, these are all going to impact metabolic function and health. Sleep affects immunity, endless stress, sedentary lifestyles, toxic exposures, heavy metals, plastics, microplastics, metabolic dysfunction, where we have way too much sugar in the diet, or our body can't metabolize it well, and we have too much cortisol from stress, gut damage, inflammation. So all of these things is part of modern life. That's why we've seen an increase in cancers, infections like people being exposed to viruses, bacteria, all these different infections. It causes, in our clinical opinion, upward to 20 to 30 percent of cancers can have infectious diseases as causes. The stack of toxins matters. This is the key factor. After years and years of our team working with many patients, I can tell you people don't look at these things. And all these things add up. So what we want to do is zoom out and look at our body's terrain, look at our total stress load, look at our metabolic function, look at our total toxic burden, look at our inflammation, our gut function, our lifestyle, and see that'll give us a picture of prevention. Now, it doesn't always solve everything because some people actually do these things right and they still have risks for cancerous. That's why I recommend doing in-depth cancer screenings, work with a good functional medicine doctor, look for the biomarkers that you can impact to really get prevention to the next level. But these are the things you can do. When you see these signs, it's a red flag. That doesn't mean you need to blame yourself. It just means you need to be aware. And the little changes you make every day can make a big difference. So if we were to rank these and think about the fastest way someone can get cancer is number one, chronic metabolic dysfunction. Way too much sugar, refined carbohydrates and toxins in our food, and too much stress. Both of those things deal with metabolic dysfunction. Too much cortisol, your hormones are off, your insulin levels are too elevated, you have too much visceral fat. And this is a common inflammation and ultra-processed foods. So, how do we fix these things? Number one, diet and exercise. Get rid of all the refined carbohydrates and toxins, need the fresh fruits and vegetables and healthy, high-quality meats, organic products, grass-fed beef, wild-caught fish. All these things are good if you can handle those proteins. If you're vegetarian, make sure you're getting good vegetarian organic proteins. And if you just put protein at the head of your meals, that's already gonna help a lot. Then you start moving. One of the best movements is walking because it's a metabolic function that your body can handle and it brings down your cortisol levels, your stress. Make sure you're getting enough fluids in the body and you're getting rid of these refined foods. That's the insulin problem. That's the obesity. And that deals with chronic hyperinsulinemia, chronic metabolic stress, chronic inflammation, and it builds the wrong lifestyle for your health. So that's one of the things that I want to talk about. That's one I think everybody can fix, but don't need to fix it overnight. Day by day improvements within a month, two, six months, you're gonna see big changes in your life. Two people can eat the same meal and have very different biological outcomes because of metabolism. And some people might look like they're healthy, but they have all kinds of toxins and still are having hurdles. So when you get your blood work done from your doctor, look for A1C hemoglobin, fructosamine, fasting glucose, insulin. This is gonna show you how your body deals with glucose. And sometimes it's not even a poor diet, it can be stress. So make sure you look at both of those. That really matters over time, controlling the stress and the diet. So let's move on to number two. We're talking about sleep here. And one of the best ways to make sure we're sleeping well is to just make sure when we wake up in the morning we feel well rested. This is a massively underrated area. Most people do not connect poor sleep to cancer or chronic disease, but it does play a role. So there are things you can do. One of them is taking melatonin. Some people do very well with that. And by the way, it has natural anti-cancer properties. Melatonin has good data for cancer prevention, but it also might help you get deeper sleep. Go for a walk after dinner, exercising, staying active, breathing, breath work. All these are great ways to get your parasympathetic, if you will, kicked in, your rest recovery state, and getting better sleep. Getting up in the morning and getting the direct sunlight so you set your circadian rhythms. Those are gonna help you as well. Reducing the screen time and all the blue light, that's important too. And all of those things are gonna help you sleep better at night. You don't have to panic over sleep, just help the sleep be deeper. Also, if we have deep emotional problems going on, then that's where prayer comes in because we can hand it over to the Lord, make the changes we need to make in our lives so we can be at peace. So now we've talked about metabolic function and the body. We've talked about poor sleep, we've talked about those basic things that you can fix. Now, let me give you another factor no one thinks about seriously. This is number three chronic toxic load. Think of it like a bucket. It's the amount of toxins and the various toxic exposures are different for every person. You could look great and feel great, but you may have very high toxic levels, heavy metals, chemical toxins, infections, chronic inflammation. So you can work with a good functional medicine doctor and get all those things tested. Everybody's genetics will respond differently to these epigenetic factors. Epigenetics are the things you do that impact genetics, but toxins are silent. You can't see them. You might be getting around them, but how do you know what levels of microplastics are affecting you? There's really not much you can do. How do you reduce microplastics? Well, increase your fiber, maybe take some sulfirophanes like broccoli, reduce pesticides by eating organic foods, drinking lots of water, detoxing, keeping the liver strong, industrial chemicals, air pollution that might be affecting lung cancer, contaminated water, food packaging, household chemicals. These are all signs of an overchemical load. Mold exposure, which I've talked about in another episode, you can watch how mold can affect immunity. So I'm not saying these in their own cause cancer, but it's the combinations that we are not aware of because they increase oxidative stress, mitochondrial damage, they burden detox pathways, our hormonal endocrine signaling, affects the gut microbiome. It's all these little things. So you could be a great runner, you could be doing all the right things, but you need to find out what these things are for you so you can reduce your toxic load. And here at the end, I'm gonna show you a simple way to do it. But nobody wakes up one day saying, Oh, I think my toxic burden is too high. I'm pro-cancerous. And maybe you got an infection or you had one several years ago and you've never felt the same. That's part of that total toxic load. So stop dismissing the terrain or the symptoms and stop dismissing the toxic exposure and these components and just make it part of your daily life to improve in these areas. Little by little, day by day, you're gonna improve. Let's move on to number four. Chronic stress. Chronic stress is dangerous. We're talking about stress that's with you all the time. And this affects your cortisol levels. When people are in a cycle of chronic stress, there's a couple things we should do. Number one, look at the emotional causes of those stressors, family, friends, traumas, maybe things that happened to you years ago when you were little, and you got to give them to the Lord. That's a process of prayer and surrender, and you get that healing and start moving the body into parasympathetic. The cheapest and most powerful thing that we should include with our daily exercise is breath work, deep breath work, where we're working on the diaphragm and our lungs expanding, and that starts to bring peace and you can start disrupting those signals of stress. Wonderful herbs like ashwagandha and rhodiola and many others, kava, that can really bring you into parasympathetic. Exercising and keeping your heart rate like at 120 to 110. So that's that zone two area where you're gonna get that nice fat burn, but you're not gonna have the stress because sometimes when you exercise too high for too long and go go like a marathon writer, long-term cyclist, triathlons, they look really healthy, but they may have big problems because of these hormonal disruptions. So inflammation, immune behavior, gut health, it's all linked to these things. We wanna make sure we take good care of that. I don't know if you know this, but when you go to a funeral and somebody close to you or somebody you love that's passed away, the immune system, your natural killer cells, can be depressed by 80%. That's how much stress can affect your immune system. And remember, immune system, your first and last defense against cancer, so you've weakened your immunity and your body shutting down. So you need to heal, and that's part of the healing process. When I'm talking about stress, I'm talking about all of these things. Here are the things we want to fix sleep, gut, microbiome, and gut health, total body inflammation, and immune regulation. We do that with specific testing. When we run the lab test, we can look into all those areas, we can run all the toxic exposures, and we can help balance the vitamins, minerals, enzymes, nutrients that are needed to maximize that. See, this is the age of health we live in. We have more information than we ever did before. And in fact, one of the things you can do is start incorporating techniques to improve this in your life. Even use an AI tool, ChatGPT, Gemini, and you can speak into it. These are the areas that I want to improve in. Here's the way I'm eating. Give me a basic program to fix that. And then get tested by a doctor. That's gonna make a big difference. Let me move on to number five gut damage and microbiome. The gut is a central part of immunity and brain function. So we want good gut health. It'll impact inflammation and immune surveillance, and it has to do with our vulnerability to disease. So let's eliminate as much of ultra-processed food as we can. Let's get the right fibers in the diet, the foods that we can digest, the right fruits and vegetables, get rid of the alcohol, the antibiotics. That is gonna play a big role, decreasing our stress, improving our sleep, and feeding fermented foods that are healthy, like fermented vegetables or good high-quality yogurts and things of that nature that are gonna help our gut microbiome. So getting our gut healthy by first removing the things that insult the gut and then giving the things that help heal the gut permeability, microbiome, inflammation, and improve the terrain of the gut. This will get your immune system going and it's an important part. And you can even take probiotics along the way that can help your immune system or your gut as well. Now, I want to add one more factor. That's another one of these things that can really worsen our health and give us a higher risk of cancer. Number six, sedentary lifestyle. There's so much data. If we could make exercise a pill, we could change the world. So I know a lot of you are like, well, there's a peptide that does some of that. Never to the degree of full exercise. Exercise is one of the most powerful medicines in the world. Now, I'm not talking about strenuous, intense exercise, but short bursts or zone two. So you can do that for a long time, and that has great benefits. You can go for an hour, two hour walk, or 10 minutes. It depends what you can do. But you can even do things like small sprints, weight-bearing exercise, like lifting weights or swimming. So activity is so important because when you combine poor sleep, poor food with a sedentary lifestyle, a high toxic load that you weren't able to detoxify, you're gonna have a worse chance of developing cancer. You're making your environment unfavorable. So that's how we put all this to work. Now, I promised you in the end I was gonna give you something in this podcast that you could put together. So, of course, avoid the villains, the high sugar, the seed oils, the plastics, the stress. But there's a couple things I like and I've seen that most people don't talk about. First of all, I love when you get about 3,000 milligrams of fish in the body or fish oils. And these are quality ones, PCBs and heavy metals, adding phosphatidylcholine, maybe another 2,400 milligrams of phosphatidylcholine and then a liposomal axanthin. Why? Because it's an antioxidant that spans the membrane of your cells and your mitochondria. So if you do this every day as part of your daily regime, you're gonna have the building blocks to repair and heal some of the toxins that are stored in your fat. You're putting in all these healthy builders and the body at the same time, you've changed your lifestyle. And over the months, your inflammation goes down, your cell membranes repair, they become more fluid, like when you were young, your mitochondrial membranes repair, which has everything to do with cancer risk. And these are some tools you can add to your regimen. For immunity, I love the mushrooms. So you can use beta glucans from the mushrooms. Those kinds of tools every day with exercise, prevention, and working with a good doctor, because sometimes you can be exposed to toxins and infections you're unaware of. And sometimes you'll see people that are really healthy that do all the right stuff and still develop cancer. And that's because we haven't done a deep enough testing to help them detect the cancer or the causes of the cancer when we look at root cause analysis. In addition to that, everybody should be getting cancer screenings. Use these blood tests that are coming out, multi-cancer early detection tests. These tests are fantastic. You can look for a number of cancers with a blood test. If you get a signal, it doesn't mean you have cancer. Then you get imaging. And if they see something, then biopsy, and from there we'll know if there's a cancer and then treat it very quickly. So this episode, we're talking about we want to avoid the things that would cause cancer. And the ones that would are very clearly here: inflammation, stress, sedentary lifestyle, deprivation of sleep, metabolic problems, gut problems. These are all things that you can fix. These are all things you can improve with your family that gives you a better chance of not getting cancer. Now, nothing's perfect, but if we do these things, we're gonna give ourselves a huge advantage. I hope you found this episode helpful. I hope it gave you some more information of another way to look at it, of the things that we can change, that we can remove, that can help us really live a higher quality of life. I hope you found the episode helpful and may the Lord bless you on your journey to healing.
