Oh god, I hate doing these. What I can't get any better. Just do an improv. It's fun.
SPEAKER_08Well, I have it pulled up now. I do have it pulled up, so.
SPEAKER_10No, no, no, you don't need the fucking document.
SPEAKER_08No document. Hello everyone. Welcome back to the Motor View First Podcast. My name is Doby, and this is our podcast where we talk about anything related to the furry fandom. My buddy Ryu and I take turns hosting topics each episode, sometimes fandom, or just not enough fandom. But Ryu, Jexy Slimy Stalamander, how are you?
SPEAKER_02What's up, dude? I'm chilling. Today's been a pretty good day.
SPEAKER_08What have you been up to today? What's new? Tell me all the news.
SPEAKER_02What have I been up to today? I'm ready. Dude, I w I went to so I went to the range at like 10 a.m. whenever they opened. I was the first person on the fucking shooting line. I walk in there with my new 300 blackout in uh lever action and I'm going to zero in my iron sights on it. So I go and zero my iron sights. I'm like, oh, that was fun. So I go back home. And then turns out my parts came in for me to mount my suppressor to my FAL. So I put that on and I mounted my suppressor to my FAL, and I was like, well fuck. I need to go see if this changes the point of impact on my zero. So I went to go see if it changes point of impact on my zero if I would get a baffle strike. And no, I didn't get a baffle strike.
SPEAKER_10And it didn't change the point of impact on my zero. My zero was still the same with a suppressor, and which was fantastic. And then I went home and I was like, huh, I'm bored again. I want to get my Mark 18.
SPEAKER_02So I got my Mark 18 and I went to the range again and I zeroed my Eotech that I have had on it for like four months now and it never zeroed. So I became pretty good friends with all the range, all the range staff today. And they they liked all my stuff. So um I got I I let a guy shoot my gun as well. So that was pretty cool.
SPEAKER_08I actually followed that a lot better than I thought I would, I'm not gonna lie. We need um listen, you've been talking about guns a lot. We need a we need a gun segment. We need like a name and like a tune for a gun segment. Hurry up, gun segment? How about the name?
SPEAKER_02Uh Gucci Gun Skalore. Okay. Dude, this new lever gun is it's such an old school looking gun, but it takes AR mags, dude. It takes modern AR mags. And it's chambered in 300 blackout.
SPEAKER_08Wait, what? A lever action with AR mags?
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_08Oh, that's weird.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's the actions on it are really cool. The bolt, the, the, the mechanism is really cool on how this firearm works, and it's it's such a beautiful piece of machinery. And that's sick. It has a threat, it has a threaded barrel, so I cannot wait to suppress it and shoot subsonics through it. Go holl hunting.
SPEAKER_08You're gonna earn gold camo on that? You can get your hundred headshots in, get your camo challenge.
SPEAKER_02I might just fucking spray. I might just say fuck it to spray paint it.
SPEAKER_07What do you guys spray paint it?
SPEAKER_02I don't know.
SPEAKER_08We should hydro dip it. Can you hydro dip those guns or can we do that with airsoft guns?
SPEAKER_02No, it would hydro dipping wouldn't last long. It's a boy. It wouldn't last too long.
SPEAKER_08How about you? What did you do today? I worked today and I have to finish a ref sheet for myself that I bought line art for, so I can actually have a proper Adobe ref sheet. But I had a really cool experience over the weekend. It was like my favorite thing that ever happened. It was really, really cool.
SPEAKER_02What happened?
SPEAKER_08So I was outside with my family. I was visiting my father, stepmom, and um and their kids, and uh my siblings and uh my girlfriend was with me. Twinkles. And we were just doing some hacky sacking, learning how to do that. It was fun, just a little outdoor thing. And then I heard like little chimes in the background, and I my my my ears perked up like I'm a dog, which you know sometimes I am, and I was like, guys, it sounds like an ice cream truck. Is that an ice cream truck? Do you guys get ice cream trucks around here? And I believe it's my stepmom or someone else that mentions like, oh, it's just you know, it could be just wind chimes from the neighbors, like sometimes it kind of sounds like that, and then you hear the tune the ice cream truck tune, and it's all the way down the block.
SPEAKER_09And I'm so excited!
SPEAKER_08I haven't seen ice cream truck in so long. I had no idea they were still thing. I've never really lived in a neighborhood that really did them. So we got ice cream from an ice cream truck. You have no idea the unbridled excitement that I had.
SPEAKER_02That's so cool, dude. The nostalgia.
SPEAKER_08It was just a white van that was, you know, painted with cheaply painted with some like ice cream truck stuff and stickered with the prices, not prices, but the popsicles, but it had that really loud ice cream truck tune.
SPEAKER_10Oh yeah, I know exactly what you did.
SPEAKER_09It was really nice, and I got a SpongeBob popsicle. Did it did it look funny? No, it actually looked right. What? Except they got rid of the big gumball eyeballs.
SPEAKER_08Oh they have like little chocolate dots now. It's not a big ball for the eyeballs. Weird. But man, listen, an expensive ice cream truck, SpongeBob popsicle hits like nothing else. I was so excited because I had a really bad day following.
SPEAKER_02I know you, I know you paid like five bucks for that bitch. I didn't pay for it, my dad paid for it.
SPEAKER_08Uh that was like a child all over again.
SPEAKER_00I was like, Dad, take an ice cream truck.
SPEAKER_01All right, let's go get the ice cream.
SPEAKER_00Daddy, I want ice cream.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, it makes all my my excitement. I I kept expressing it to her. I was like, this is really cool. This has made me really happy. That's so true.
SPEAKER_02She was happy. I'm so happy for you. That that's that's such a that's such a good moment. It's such a great memory.
SPEAKER_08It's the little things in life. Like that it has it was just such oh man.
SPEAKER_09I it's it never happens. Have you ever have you ever had an ice cream truck experience?
SPEAKER_02Uh like maybe once whenever I was a little kid.
SPEAKER_08Yeah exactly. I think I only had a couple as well as a kid too. Because I mean you always hear about it, like it'd be in cartoons and whatever. Like you're familiar with the idea of an ice cream truck, but as a kid, it never happened besides a couple times for me. And then it had that was that was hot. That was really hot. Are you learning how to breathe fire?
SPEAKER_04Thank you. Yes, actually.
SPEAKER_08You should give up on that. Let let dragons try that. Um yeah, ice cream truck. Really cool. Love it. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_08What is what what are three things that made you smile today?
SPEAKER_02Three things that made me smile today. Um 300 blackout, 308, and 556.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. Guns. Guns. Ryu!
SPEAKER_02Yes?
SPEAKER_08My friend. You lovely, lovely individual.
SPEAKER_02Call me what you want to call me. Call me what?
SPEAKER_08What are we in for today? You said do you have the shit? No, I don't have the shit. I did that earlier.
SPEAKER_02We're into we're in, we're into we're into, we're in for what are we into?
SPEAKER_01Ooh.
SPEAKER_02We're in we're into shit, apparently.
SPEAKER_01Alright, guys, this is a shit fetish podcast. Moving forward, Adobe, please play like the most obnoxious obnoxious heart sound effect right now. Perfect. Perfect. The audience is eye rolling, I guarantee it.
SPEAKER_02Um yeah, probably so. Yeah, so um, tell us. Funny enough, today we're talking about green flags and the furry fandom. What makes you what what makes you instantly think, yeah, I'd like to hang out with that person again?
SPEAKER_08It's usually a solid, trustworthy personality, and it's it's hit or miss depending on the person you talk to. And it also depends on the experience I have with that person. Like, where is the meeting? Is this like at a conspace hotel area or is this at like a you know local furry meetup where we're sharing a beer? Let's say, let's say a con space. Conspace? Yeah. And you're asking the question of what would make me want to like hang out with that person again? Yeah. I think um expressing interest past just my fursuit. Okay. Not looking at my fursuit going, you're a cute dog. Let's talk and pretend like you're a dog, which you know, that that is the fun of a furry, the furry uh furry uh community, but I really enjoy the the personal connection that can go past that if the conversation is bound to last that long.
SPEAKER_07Right.
SPEAKER_08Because not all conversations have to be deep, none of them have to be. But if I want to hang out with someone again, it's when they look past just the fursuit character. So it just depends on the conversation, but that's usually what it does. That's usually what does it for me.
SPEAKER_02Funny enough, funny enough, I got really, really, really green flags, a lot of green flags from this one blue tiger. I think his name was Extra O from TFF. And I had a really great time with him at the bar, and he hung out with me and my friends, and um, he was he was a really great individual, and I wanted to hang out with him again, but he seemed to be too busy, and it's okay. That is the worst. I know it was I was sad. I was like, oh, I really wanted to see them again.
SPEAKER_08They were so fun. I was in slight side tangent when I was in VR chat, way, but this is way a while back. I was in a public lobby, and I mean I was I was socializing a lot back then. I mean, you know that. And um, there's this one guy I talked to, I don't know if it was in the furry hideout or where it was specifically. They were, what were they? Like a white and pink protegen, super cool, super chill guy. Started talking a bit more, and once we got past the the first, or not the first soup, but the VR chat avatar aspect, we started talking about personal life stuff and getting to know who we were. And then I was like, hey guy, come to Anthrocon. And he's like, Okay. And then look where we're at now.
SPEAKER_02Because that guy's look where we're at. I wonder who that is. Yeah, maybe who that was.
SPEAKER_09Remember when you were remember when you were a Protogen? Remember those days?
SPEAKER_02I remember when I was a Protogen, yes. Adobe, post a photo on Twitter if it is Protogen Days. Oh, my Protogen Days. Do you do you have a picture of me and my Protogen Days?
SPEAKER_08Yeah, I do. They're on they're actually on my old computer. Meg and I were going through my old laptop, and uh, I have some old photos.
SPEAKER_09But anyway, green flags!
SPEAKER_02Green flags! Um, yeah, I think red flags are just talked about too much. Like bad behavior, drama, toxicity. This all things to like avoid, you know. But green flags are just as important. Green flags are those little behaviors that make people feel welcome, safe, valued, and included. And honestly, I think those people are often the main reason that many of us stay in the fandom.
SPEAKER_08Green flags really I I haven't even thought of the idea of green flags because you're correct. All I ever hear about is red flags. And honestly, when we talk about when we talk about you know certain topics or ideas of like furry fandom, we do talk a lot about red topics because it it's just a very prominent uh like thing that gets brought up. It's always always a drama. So green uh green flags, yeah. That's a really good thing to um like think about. I don't get to think about it a lot. I lost train of thought if you can't tell.
SPEAKER_09I'm gonna lean back my chair awkwardly or spinning away. No, you're fine.
SPEAKER_02I can go ahead. I can go ahead and start us off with the with our first one. Uh a good green flag is somebody that makes new furries feel welcome.
SPEAKER_08It's funny because you get polar opposites from some people.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, like especially when if it's a green flag, especially if people answer like beginners' questions without sarcasm and don't act like superior to them.
SPEAKER_00Yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_02You got cause you because you you remember what it feels like to be new, you know? I mean, we all start somewhere, everyone was new. Uh every every single furry was nuanced. Nobody came into the fandom knowing convention etiquette, nobody knew commission etiquette, uh, the social norms or like species lore or that you can't poodle in a fucking furshoot parade, apparently. Fuck you, Anthrocon. So I'm not going this year. I'm boycotting Anthrocon.
SPEAKER_08I'm not, I'm gonna go. Fuck you. I wanna go. I'm boycotting. I wanna go. I miss you.
SPEAKER_09I miss you.
SPEAKER_08Aww. So what do you think? Do you want me to just talk about the idea, bring up personal like stories, or just a little bit of both?
SPEAKER_02Kind of both. Let's let's kind of do both.
SPEAKER_08Yeah, so speaking of the idea of like, you know, people who are actually welcoming to new furries and the fandom, I think that's what gives the fandom its almost you may continue?
SPEAKER_04Go ahead. I'm done.
SPEAKER_08I think when someone is first getting into the fandom and they have that good initial experience, that's what kind of helps create that magic. And when you if you go into the fandom and you're initially met with that negative feedback, it kind of pushes people away, or it takes them a while to kind of gain uh that uh attraction towards the fandom. They need trust. Trust for sure. I think some of the best moments, and it kind of skates around your your green like this current green flag idea, but um, you know, that first initial reaction you have, or like you know, someone is welcoming the new people into the fandom is some of my personal experiences is when that a random person comes up to me in the hotel space. So granted, you know, it's it's not the new personal experience, but maybe it's my first time at the at that uh convention center. I think TFF is a great example. When you would have a group like a couple people or someone come up to you and like talk to you, like, hey, is this your first time first time at TFF? Or um, you know, it's like, oh I like your suit. Where are you from? And we we talk about that from like, you know, I'm new to the area kind of perspective. It makes me love the con because you get to know the community and the people there. Um, and you just start having those really good conversations. So some of the newest interactions, some of the first interactions I ever had were probably on furry amino, but if I'm trying to think of like in-person experiences, it'd be like our first anther cons or any first time that I go to a con. Um, yeah, and those always make that make or break that con, depending on how that experience is with that community.
SPEAKER_02I agree. Like, no, but you said like the I think the people who made me feel welcome when I started in the fandom are still the people I remember years later. And I still talk to some of those people, like for example, you and Crow. And um, I don't really talk to to him anymore, but Cody, I uh I miss you if you're out there.
SPEAKER_08Cody, come come on the podcast. Let's catch up with your let's catch up with one of your best friends. We'll do a we'll do a best friend catch-up episode. We'll just bring Cody on randomly.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I might have to try to get in contact with that'd be fun.
SPEAKER_07That'd be fun. You guys catch up on the podcast? Oh, I mean, that's your comment. I don't know.
SPEAKER_02That's too personal. Maybe. Who knows? We'll see, we'll see how it feels.
SPEAKER_08But I mean, that resonates with me too, because the people that have the mo the biggest lasting impact on me are people that I've met initially, the first people I met in the fandom. Those are people I probably think about the most. Um, good or bad, I would say. But um yeah, those are the people I'm like are still on my mind. Man, I hope that person's doing well. Man, I I miss that person. Man, it was really good having that conversation with this person way back when. Right. But it was leaving a lasting impact. I mean, just having a just being a nice person, it has a lasting impact. Some people don't like to think of it that way, but it really does.
SPEAKER_02I love being a nice person. Especially especially like throughout my daily life, I just try to be nice to people, and that's what I tried I strive to be.
SPEAKER_08Good vibes come back around.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_08Always, always, always. And I mean, I was just saying earlier with like the ice cream truck story, but like it is the little things. Um and in the in the Freddy family, especially your first experiences, the people that help welcome you, whether it's your first con, your first you know, online forum, your first uh time of being in the area, your first local meetup, when you have those first good few interactions, those little things absolutely make the building blocks for things moving forward. But it just makes everything so much better. And you start snowballing because um from there you'll start snowballing your friendships. Yeah, you you start with a small snowball and then it rolls into something much bigger. So it helps create a lot of um possibilities and avenues, I guess is the best way to put it. Because you routes it. Absolutely figure out how you want to explore that um that given scenario, I guess.
SPEAKER_02But yeah. Who what or I'm sorry, what helped you feel comfortable when you first started in the furry fandom?
SPEAKER_08What helped me feel comfortable?
SPEAKER_02Yes.
SPEAKER_08Initially it was uh the welcoming of um the sexuality I was uh identifying under. It was knowing that it was a very pride, um, uh a welcoming pride. Nope. What's the wording? Yes, what's the word? Welcoming, nope. Um uh open space, open sexual, penis, open pride-based, pride-based fandom. Yes, it's pride-based fandom with a lot of acceptance to uh towards anyone's sexuality. So knowing I was stepping into that kind of space already gave me that initial burst of confidence I needed to start interacting. But going forward, it was interacting with those people that were part of the pride community, or even even the people who like were maybe were straight or um identify as something different than what I did. It was still knowing that I was accepted, and I was in a space where I knew I was allowed to be myself, and I don't know that I would feel the same about the furry fandom if I didn't feel that way stepping into it. Yeah, it felt like the only way I could escape healthily in in a healthy manner, I should say. Right. What about what about you?
SPEAKER_02I I think uh there was this one guy that I would um that I came into contact with on Fur Affinity back in like 2014, and we would chat a lot and do a lot of role plays together, and we would build a lot of relation with each other based off of our role plays, if that makes sense. And like we would have stuff to talk about like story story-wise with each other and like brainstorm like ideas for this story that we would be building, or you is is you know, role-playing. And um I think that's the person who helped me start feeling comfortable in my early years of in my young years of being a furry and like like I mentioned him before, Cody again. Um I met him on Fur Affinity as well, um, in high school. And uh he he and I were really good friends for many, many years, and unfortunately unfortunately we never got to meet up. And um, like I said, if I can try to link up with him again, maybe I can take a trip up to see him.
SPEAKER_08So that would be cool. That'd be really awesome.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_08I know that some of my initial experiences that um we're relating to that pride idea, um, was also just kind of joining group chats. Um, granted, I did this on like a plethora of different platforms. It was mostly furry Mino, which I've talked about previously, but this kind of goes in tandem with other apps too, was joining um different furry group chats. Maybe maybe it was like a local group chat, maybe it was a um like an art-related group chat. It could have been and I say group chat meaning like it could be a telegram, it could be like a Twitter thing, it could be um or not Twitter, I guess be Twitter forums and whatnot, or Reddit forums, I should say. Or you know, a Discord server, but just kind of like giving myself the opportunity to spectate until I felt the right time to start interacting. Okay. It gave me time to learn, it gave me like I didn't feel rushed to have to get into anything. Knowing I was stepping into a comfortable space, but also knowing that I had the time to step in when I wanted to or where I was ready, defin definitely gave me that positive boost getting into the fandom. For sure. That was that was a bad one.
SPEAKER_02Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_08I'm gonna open another LaCroix. I really like my LaCroix if you can't tell.
SPEAKER_02I need more sparkling water.
SPEAKER_09They're so good! And they're healthy.
SPEAKER_02They are healthy.
SPEAKER_09Why is there a fly in my fridge? What is that?
SPEAKER_02You know what else is healthy? There's a thing in my fridge! There's a thing in your fridge?
SPEAKER_09What the fuck is that? It's not a mod. Eat it.
SPEAKER_08100 bucks.
SPEAKER_04Alright.
SPEAKER_08I'm not taking money off you.
SPEAKER_04I'm definitely not whipping it out or anything.
SPEAKER_07I don't know what to do. It's just in there.
SPEAKER_02You know what is healthier than your LaCroix? Another green flag. Crediting artists without being asked.
SPEAKER_08Wow, I feel like that's getting more rare, may I add.
SPEAKER_02What do you mean?
SPEAKER_08So, not to jump immediately into a red flag, but I guess for the compare the the opposing uh idea of this is on Twitter you'll have a lot of people who post art of artists that they have commissioned, but you know put little AI flings on it, and then they either don't credit the artist or they don't ask if that's okay. Ooh, I hate that. That's where my mind goes when you mention that type of green flag. So when people actually, you know, credit the artist and respect like the artist asks in works. Again, Toli makes a fandom amazing. God, I forget how nice the fandom can actually be.
SPEAKER_02Crediting artists sounds simple, but it says a lot about a person's character when you actually support the creator, and you just uh always give an artist their their credit where it where it's due. It's that that's just how the art that's just how everything in art goes. Like furry art and non-furry art. Just give the artist credit.
SPEAKER_08When I mean this literally just happened a few hours ago, was I needed to get my a ref sheet available for um a thing later down the road, and I have to burp. I'm done burping now. But I could have used a free ref sheet, but I was trying to find a style I liked, and I want once I found a ref sheet style that I really enjoyed, I it was a purchasable one. So I'm like, yes, I absolutely want to buy it, I want to support the artist. And the artist allows you to edit their base as long as you keep the credit in like their name and credit them. And I was like, okay, as long as I'm allowed to edit the base, it says that in the TOS, I'm good to do that. Keep them credited, like absolutely. So you know, I just I mean, I I come from an artistic background. So when people don't respect an artist, you disrespect them, me. And if you disrespect me, you disrespect Ryu. If you disrespect the both of us, you know I'm gonna get the paw.
SPEAKER_03You go you go get the you're gonna get the claws.
SPEAKER_02You're gonna get the claws, and we're very intimidating.
SPEAKER_08We're very, very intimidating.
SPEAKER_02Uh don't we put intimidating music in there? I have my very quite I have my very quite large two and a half inch um micro blade.
SPEAKER_08I have my large two and a half inch between my thumb base.
SPEAKER_02What It's not two and a half.
SPEAKER_07It is when it's flashing.
SPEAKER_02No, it's not. Anyways.
SPEAKER_00But you can get the clue.
SPEAKER_02Respecting artists. I think people who consistently credit artists are showing they value the people who make the fandom possible. Adobe. Uh-huh. Have you ever discovered an artist because someone has credited them properly?
SPEAKER_08That is actually how I would say I try to find a lot of the art that I um might either commission or enjoys just by asking like through friends, like, oh hey, I really enjoy this art piece. Who drew it? And they'll be like, oh, this person drew it. They'll they'll they'll send me the credit, they'll send me their information so I can uh commission them. Because a lot of word of mouth for artists is a really good way to grow uh you're putting one in my mouth. Huh? You're putting one in my mouth? Put my two and a half inch between my thighs and my mouth. Adobe, please clip that MP3 and put it in the Discord server. Thank you. Please don't. But word of mouth is very good for artists because it helps get the word out more. So I I do enjoy asking friends or people I'm familiar with, like, oh hey, where'd you find this? Or I'll go on Twitter. I think Twitter is a good example. So when I can find people who actually credit the artist, hang on. I think for anyone who is listening, Ryu is showing his camera and it's a very nice two and a half inch. It's even the color of mine too. Look at that. Well, anyway, if you guys want to know what's going on, you guys can always join our Discord server. We do have a link down below for our Discord server. It's for the podcast. If you guys want to join in, join any community uh recordings that we have right now, tune into the audience. We have an audience right now just listening, tuning in, chatting in our little chat. It's kind of like a Twitch thing, I guess. You know, that's kind of a thing. But we also will be doing community game nights, events. We have also just your general uh channels for anyone to interact with. Um gaming stuff too. Yeah, whatever you guys are looking for, just come come on, join that link. See that link down below. You guys want to see reuse two and a half inch? Now it's time to do it. You wanna see it? You gotta come join. Gotta do it. I don't put my camera on, but you can. Green flag!
SPEAKER_02It's a green flag. I think if you compliment other people freely.
SPEAKER_08There's just not enough of that in the general day-to-day.
SPEAKER_02I know. There's not enough compliments to people made out day-to-day. And it's really sad that people don't compliment each other anymore. I try to compliment people at work all the time.
SPEAKER_10I say, Oh my god, I love your dog and his little bandana, he's so cute. And I'll be like, Oh, I love your nails.
SPEAKER_02Or like, oh my god, I love your shoes. And they'll be like, Oh my god, thank you so much. I got them at so-and-so. And I'll be like, Oh, I love that store. Anyways, how's your dog today? Blah blah blah.
SPEAKER_08So were you you're one of my best friends, and I truly don't know where I'd be without you. I appreciate that you I appreciate that you're in my life.
SPEAKER_02I love you, and I really appreciate that you're in my life as well. And then I met you on VR Chat that one day after Christmas. After Christmas. And it was after Christmas because I've if I didn't go and buy that Oculus on Christmas Day because I got Christmas money and I didn't get any cool gifts that Christmas. I went and bought an Oculus because all I got was shirts and underwear and money. So I went and bought an Oculus, and then I found this guy. And look where we are.
SPEAKER_08I um underwear. Underwear. So, but as you were saying earlier, and I I I had all I had also mentioned it previously, was um kind of what goes around comes around the idea of like you know, you just do a good Art and sending underwear in the audience in the pride, the pride pride, in the pride, very prideful, so prideful.
SPEAKER_02All the gays.
SPEAKER_03So prideful for the pride, all the gays.
SPEAKER_02Anyways, yes, I think complimenting others, um, especially in the furry fandom, like encouraging artists, complimenting fursuits, supporting creators, and celebrating successes. One six one one sixteen one fuck! One fuck one fuck. I I believe one sincere compliment can stick with someone for years.
SPEAKER_07I have worn the same the same cologne for Dude, if you wore the same underwear for a year, you could sell that shit for a pretty penny.
SPEAKER_02I was I was in an elevator once going to Dick's. Where's this going? This was about a year ago. And I was in the elevator and there was this guy in there with me, and I had this cologne on. I had the graphite cologne from Bath and Body Works on. And this guy was in there and he was like, What do you what cologne do you have on? I was like, Oh, it's so-and-so. And he's like, It smells really good. It smells really good on you. And I was like, Thank you. And I have not changed it ever since. I actually just bought a new bottle.
SPEAKER_07Oh, you're so cute. That's so happy for you.
SPEAKER_02I know.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I think I don't know.
SPEAKER_08I I'm I'm very interested in psychology and stuff, and I actually have an episode I want to talk about that kind of delves into like just more psychology stuff and just stuff that you and I can rain about that's like um a little more in depth. But I think the idea of compliments, and the reason why they hit so hard is literally the basis of this episode, is that we are so accustomed to negativity. That is what we digest and recognize the most. That when something good comes from out of the blue, it's immediately seen as green. It's immediately seen as something that it it it catches you off guard because you're not most people aren't typically accustomed to just a genuine, nice compliment. And I mean like a meaningful one, not like, oh, nice weather today, you look nice. Like I mean like a genuine nice compliment, like a gentleman having a conversation about you, about your cologne in a private setting. Like, well, the elevator would be more, you know, an enclosed area. Compliments don't come around that often. So when you do have something that is genuine, like it you feel good about that person, it makes you feel better about yourself. Um, it just puts you in a better mindset throughout the day. We just I just don't feel like as a society we see enough things that give us that that so I don't say social dopamine boost. I'm sure that there's some word or phrase for that, but just something that feel makes us feel good about ourselves as well as other people. We digest too much red flags, there's too many.
SPEAKER_02All the serotonin, all the dopamine, all the gay. Why do I keep going back? I can't do the Trump impression, dude. I can't either. I can't either. That's that's what makes it funnier and stupider.
SPEAKER_08So compliments. I mean the idea of compliments are it's I mean, how how do I explain this? I feel like it's an idea that is skated over very easily, but when it I as I was mentioning, God damn. I hate myself. God damn compliments are really nice. And I feel like we need more of them. And I think that's part of the reason why I enjoy helping build communities or helping like, you know, just be like help helping people get together, helping people with whatever problems they're dealing with, because it's that out of the norm. It's that thing that you don't seem to see as often. So when something like that can come up, or you know, you or I have control of it, it would help other people or help our friends. I mean, it just it's it's giving little things out that it all comes back around.
SPEAKER_02I well, I think the fandom grows when people feel appreciated. So what what's a compliment that someone's given you that you still remember to this day?
SPEAKER_08So one that stuck with me was from multiple people, and it was people calling me a like, oh, you have golden retriever energy. Now, it was typically worded in a nice manner because it usually meant one of a few things. Very friendly, very happy and extroverted and outgoing, or uh just kind of very like sporadic, but like you know, having fun and you know, just kind of being around and just talking to everyone, right? Yeah, anytime that that that anytime that that personality trait of mine was recognized, it made me feel a lot better about myself because it was it's harder for me to bring out those traits. And it stuck with me so much that I ended up changing my species around that. I I've always liked golden retrievers, but by no means were they ever my favorite dog. But over time, as I was kind of not feeling the wolf as much, and I I've been told by people even outside the fandom that I am a golden retriever, I have golden retriever energy. It was always brought up in like a fun way or a nice way, it was never brought up in any rude way. Yeah. So those were like nice little compliments, little little you know why it's never brought up in a rude way?
SPEAKER_02Because there are no there is no such thing as a rude golden retriever. I have yet to meet a mean golden retriever to this day.
SPEAKER_08Exactly. And when people would say that to me, it's it's just a passing by comment half the time. Like people we don't like delve into it much more past that, but you're a good boy. Uh you're a good boy.
SPEAKER_02That's that's all it's said. That's all that needs to be said is that you're a good boy.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_02Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_04Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_08But yeah, so I end up changing it. I end up changing my my son around that idea. Um, can it just it it's bringing out the better parts of me and it makes me feel a little better about the sad lump of shit that I currently am? But but I'm just kidding, it's a funny ha ha hee hee. I'm laughing, I'm laughing. But I mean for you, like, is there anything that like has happened in the fandom where there's was this one thing that resonates with you?
SPEAKER_02Let's see here. I'm trying to think about all the things that have happened at cons.
SPEAKER_08I can say a story that someone relates if you want me to kill time.
SPEAKER_02About me?
SPEAKER_08No, no, it's not. It's about me. Because I want to talk about me. I'm just kidding.
SPEAKER_02I don't want I don't want to talk about you. I want to talk about me, bitch. Somebody said that they like my somebody said that they like my harness around my muzzle. My muzzle on my my muzzle harness on my first shoot head. So I've kept I've kept it on.
SPEAKER_06I bet. Were they trying to pull you to the room too?
SPEAKER_02No. What are you talking about? No. No. No, Adobe, no. But no, I've I've had I've kept my little I've kept my little muzzle my little muzzle on ever since. So I can shut the fuck up.
SPEAKER_07It's an it's a nice accessory. It is a nice accessory.
SPEAKER_02And my little worm in my nose.
SPEAKER_08I say this in like the most genuine way possible is you are an adorable fursuiter. You think so? Between the look of your fursuit, your energy, and just like kind of how you go about suiting, like you are someone that like I I will look at in the distance be like, I want to talk to that person. I'm not just saying that because I know you, like, I mean that as a genuine comment, as you as a fursuiter. I'm disconnecting our friendship, I'm pushing you away for a minute.
SPEAKER_10Are you serious?
SPEAKER_08Yes, I'm serious.
SPEAKER_10Because that's so sweet. Nobody's ever said that to me before. You're gonna make me cry. Don't cry, hold back your tears.
SPEAKER_09Hold back your teachers. You're gonna make me cry.
SPEAKER_08But I do mean that. Like in a genuine manner, I do mean that. Like you have a very nice personality to be around when you're in fursuit. And you you um I would say you stand out in the crowd a bit. Because you're also not like a blue fox. That's a bottom.
SPEAKER_02So Yeah. Looking at you, Aeon. He he isn't a volley. Well, he has a blue fox.
SPEAKER_09Head! It's like white mostly. But also blue. And a fox. Okay, listen, you have blue in you, okay? I don't want to hear it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, there's blue in me.
SPEAKER_07Isn't your anus blue on your sauna?
SPEAKER_02Yes. Blue hole.
SPEAKER_07And a blue penis.
SPEAKER_02Oh man. Okay, I think I got time for one more.
SPEAKER_08I think you have time for one more.
SPEAKER_02Shut the fuck up. I'm running this show, bitch.
SPEAKER_08I love you.
SPEAKER_07Enough, but our my yeah. Do you want you around the show if you can't talk?
SPEAKER_11Cashew.
SPEAKER_02I need to take a sip of water. Because that was terrible. I need a punch in the face. I need to punch you in the face so you forget about that every time.

SPEAKER_07Down below. Give it a click. It's also green. Like the green flags.
SPEAKER_02You know, you know what our final green flag is?
SPEAKER_07Am I able to guess?
SPEAKER_02I mean you can. Or actually you can pick you can you can pick a green flag. I don't have one! You don't have one. I don't have one!
SPEAKER_11Why?
SPEAKER_07I don't know. I'm just putting on the screen.
SPEAKER_11That's a that's not that's a that's a red flag already if you don't have a green flag. You're a red flag.
SPEAKER_08Just because I look like a red flag, because I'm red flag.
SPEAKER_00The red coach. The red coats? Yeah. The red coats are coming! The red coats are coming! The Pentagon!
SPEAKER_09The Pentagon. The Pentagon's ass! I just listened to that episode today.
SPEAKER_02The Pentagon's ass. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07Green flag.
SPEAKER_02Green flag. Our final green flag is whenever someone stays kind while nobody is watching. I think genuine kindness, integrity, consistent behavior, and being kind in public is easy.
SPEAKER_08So uh the green flag you were you were mentioning, uh and this kind of goes back to what I was mentioning earlier as well, was the idea of like how we only notice red flags. As a society, we're under a lot of stress and a lot of intensive um expectations, I guess the best way to put it. So I know that a lot of individuals are typically under high stress, hard financial situations. There's usually some life personal relational issue that each individual also goes through. So it the idea of, hey, let me be nice today isn't necessarily an easy, passive idea that a lot of people might have. Even though like their their intent might be that way, it might not come off that way. I've learned that and trying to intentionally put on a smile when I can just helps a little bit. It it helps you kind of it's it's a gentle reminder to yourself that like things kind of suck, so so so make someone else smile. If you can if you can smile, make helps make someone else smile. We were talking we were I mean, uh this honestly just overviews the entire episode topic. It's like it's just you know, just giving a comment out to someone, you know, being there for someone when they need it. It those little things go so far. And unfortunately, there just isn't enough of that that a lot of individual individuals should be around. It's just it's very unfortunate. But come back to me. I had I had a follow-up to that, and then I looked at my LaCroix can and started reading it. Maybe I am ADHD. Come back. Circle back.
SPEAKER_02Circle back. Alright, where were we? Okay, no. In integrity, genuine kindness. Be kind when nobody's noticing you, nobody rewards you, nobody gives you credit. That's character right there. Those are people that build healthy communities.
SPEAKER_03Adobe, what it what isn't exist w what? What? What'd you say? I said hi. Oh.
SPEAKER_09You said Adobe. I said hi.
SPEAKER_03I thought you said ho.
SPEAKER_08I didn't say ho, you ho. Shut up, bitch! You shut up, bitch. You beautiful fucking specimen of a human being that I have no idea where I'd be without without a few.
SPEAKER_09God damn, good good fucking job, your mother putting you on this fucking earth, you you wonderful piece of uh bio gallogy. Oh god. I fell apart really quick. Anyways.
SPEAKER_07I'm crude.
SPEAKER_02Closing closing out. What's one what's what's one green flag that you wish was more that fuck. What's one green flag that you wish that there was more of in the fandom?
SPEAKER_08I need a minute to think on this one, because there's there's some things that go through my head that I wish I would see more of, but I know we mentioned a lot of those today. I just need a minute. I'm really bad thinking on the spot. There's people watching.
SPEAKER_02There's people watching. People are waiting. The people are waiting.
SPEAKER_08They're they're in their cuck chairs just watching us.
SPEAKER_02In their cuck chairs? They're cucking it up right now. Just watching us make out with our microphones. Oh, we are we making out with our okay, that's not going in.
SPEAKER_08Adobe, cut that out.
SPEAKER_07Adobe, skip to the point where I come up with the white western what I should say.
SPEAKER_08I wish in the fandom I would see a lot more of um This is this is very in tandem of um Sex. No, there's more than enough of that. There's so much of that. There's so much of that. Fuck you, dude.
SPEAKER_00I was just thought. Did I make you lose it? Yes! I made you lose it, man! I made you lose your climax!
SPEAKER_08You always made me a climax, honey. Uh that was towards Meg. Hi, honey.
SPEAKER_03Oh, sorry.
SPEAKER_08Well, what about you? Before I go, what what's something you wish you saw more of?
SPEAKER_02I think I I think being nice to the newcomers.
SPEAKER_08Um No, no, no, something new. Not something you already came up with.
SPEAKER_02Okay. I I I was just gonna reiterate about that, but whatever. Be a little bitch.
SPEAKER_07I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry. I'm sorry, I'd be a little bit cranky.
SPEAKER_02Shut the fuck up. Yes, I know. I know you're a little fucking cranky because you're a little fucking bitch, and you haven't fucking had your fucking LaCroix today, and you just drank your fucking LaCroix and now you're burping all over the place and you're a gas, and you're a gassy little bitch. Yeah, you're a gassy little baby bitch, and be burped like a baby, pat on the back like a little baby, because you're a little baby bitch.
SPEAKER_08So my green flag is I wish my my my my best friend appreciated me more.
SPEAKER_10Oh, I appreciate you. I appreciate you too. You're being a little baby, a little baby. Well, you'd be a little daddy. Whoa.
SPEAKER_07I I walk away. I'm walking away for a minute. I'm I'm taking care of myself today.
SPEAKER_09Go ahead. Go ahead, Dad.
SPEAKER_02The furry fandom isn't remembered because of the loudest people. It's remembered because of the people who made someone feel like they belonged. Thanks for tuning in to the What Are We Infirm Podcast.
SPEAKER_08I have my green flag. I wish that people would carry the traits that are in the furry fandom. The acceptance, the pride, the joyfulness that we have, and the magic that we have in the community. I wish they would carry that over into other communities, other, other subgenres, other um gatherings, other communities, other forums. I wish that the acceptance and joy that we have that we can take advantage of in this fandom can be brought to other fandoms. There are a lot of other fandoms out there, whether they're game fandoms, they could be uh, you know, anime or our uh you know, superhero stuff.
SPEAKER_02What are we in for fandom? Exactly.
SPEAKER_08But any even even smaller fandoms, they're typically led with a much different outlook, and they have different, you know, just the environment, the atmosphere is different. I what I would love to see is the the magic that the furry fandom has brought into other uh yeah, other fandoms. I I think that I think that just makes I think that just makes everything better because we're just all trying to be good people and the the personalities that we have in the free fandom that sometimes we're too afraid to show to other people. Why not? It's nothing to be ashamed of. Just because you're open and accepting doesn't mean they have to change when you're stepping out of the furry fandom. So that's my green flag. That's my green flag. I wish I saw more of.
SPEAKER_02Fuck yeah.
SPEAKER_08Thank you, Daddy.
SPEAKER_02You're welcome, baby girl.
