You're right. You know? Yeah. Don't give up, but you also gotta give up. I've gave up a lot. I have, you know, I'm not even the same person I used to be. But you know, this is one thing you gotta remember. There's nothing, people see this. Like, for instance, the rich young ruler. Jesus asked him to give up all of his rich and come follow me. And people see that as giving something up. But Jesus was gonna have him follow me. He was gonna be one of the apostles. Wow. He was gonna forever reign with Jesus Christ forever. Jesus is never gonna ask you to give something up that isn't gonna replace it with something a hundred times better.

And I we mentioned this, I don't know if it was last podcast or the podcast before, but a lot of people are like, man, I can't wait to get to heaven, you know. Mansion built for me, right? In my father's house, there are many mansions. Yeah. The Sea of Glass, Streets of Gold, you know. Seeing David, right? Seeing Elijah, seeing Samson, seeing all these great men of God. Yeah. It's not even gonna compare. You're not even gonna be focused on that. The thing we're gonna be focused on is the height and the depth and the width and the measure of God's mercy, goodness, and grace. Forever and ever. His love. We're gonna be able to experience his love. Yes. The unseen thing, the thing that Adam got to see before the separation happened. We're gonna be able to come boldly into it.

Imagine the best time you ever felt. One of your kids born, or you know, uh one of us winning something, or you know, the greatest feeling you're about just constantly. That's heaven. You know, I I don't have Facebook or Instagram, you know, I'm weird because I'm not sure. It is it blows my mind you don't have a even to the world, it's just strange. People ask you, like, what's your Facebook? I'm like, no, they're like you're a serial killer or something, you know, like what but I try not to be distracted that's a lot of people. You're not a part of the system because I got a YouTube channel because we're on YouTube now. Yeah. And uh, and and they have these little videos that pop up. And one video I watched was about heaven, and it showed what heaven was gonna be like, okay? And it was talking about like just lions walking around, and you could pet them, and you know, and you're all the family members that you ever you know lost before just to hang out with them all day, and time was forever, so there was never like, oh, I only have five minutes with them, it was just forever. Time doesn't exist, yes. So, and and like you said, what made me think of it, you said walk it up to David or Elijah, all these men and hang out are Jesus. How about that? Wow, you know, just for the for you know, we call it a day, but for what however long you feel like it, you know? Wow, and then yes, there is a mansion, but how about there was a mansion in the city part of it? Then there was a mansion in the country part of it. So if you wanted to hang out and everybody had a garden, and you was just and I say all this because these are the things that Paul wrote. When when Paul wrote some of these letters to us, he, you know, he was in a hole in the ground in Rome, chained, and he was like, Count it all joy and count it all joy and and all these things that we read and that's encouraging to us, but he was in, but how could you be like that? Only if you're looking for eternity, seeking first the kingdom of heaven. And it did, even though it was a video and it was a YouTube, and it was all made with AI and like you know what I mean, like all these things. I can't explain to you how great it made me feel all day long, and all my problems seem this big compared to what we are about to walk into eventually, you know, and I think that's important to understand when you're uh approached with the the give up part of this, you know, that you're talking about to to surrender and give up different parts of your life that's for your benefit.

We're gonna title this most likely give it up to gain everything. There you go. That's a good one, huh? Yeah, that is good. Yeah, I mean, of course, yeah, we don't give up the prize, don't give up the high calling. You gotta aim when you're aiming at a target, you have to aim higher so you can reach the target. You know, when you're when you're shooting something with an arrow, right? You're aiming it above the target, and it will it it'll it have a better chance of it hitting the target. Yeah, you know, and that's it. We're aiming towards Jesus. Yes, you know what I mean? We're aiming towards heaven, you know what I'm saying? We're aiming towards Jesus to reach heaven, you know? And um all that to say uh you know, like you said, uh uh I I there's a lot of things sleep, you know, uh work. You're gonna give up a lot of things. You know, like you said with the rich young ruler, there's a lot of things you you gotta give up. You know what I mean? I had to give up cigarettes. How about your own will? That's good. That's good, Bob. Pride.

100%. Well, 1 Thessalonians 5 and 18 says uh in everything, in every circumstance, give thanks. Yes. For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. How about when you give that thing up, whatever it is, you fill in your blanks, I'll fill in mind, whoever's watching, if when you give that up, you're gonna realize and you're gonna come to realize, wow, Jesus is concerned about me. He loves me. Oh man, and then the thankfulness comes in. You'll be sitting on the side of the road with a POB tire, God forbid it, but you'll just start thanking the Lord.

It doesn't matter. And that's the right way, not to manufacture it. Because sometimes we'll read the scripture, we're like, okay, this is what we gotta do, so we'll pretend, you know, or fake it until you make it. But you're right, this is where you gotta get to, is that attitude. Uh, and that's where a true attitude of gratitude. You start being thankful, and your situation changes. We just come out of the worst week. I had like the worst week last week. And but you know what? I knew. I've I'm I've been in this for a little while now, and I knew better. And I instead of crying about it and complaining about it, you know what I've done? I woke up and me and my my boy Peter, Preacher Pete, shout out Preacher Pete. Preach it Pete. We turned up the music, and nowadays it wasn't always this way, but we I I have a TV and it's all connected to it, and and and the Christian music is upbeat now. You know, you have Force Frank and I think. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And we got a lot of good Christian music. We just we just uh blasted it and we started worshiping, and we've and but we had in the natural, we had nothing to be happy about. Like everything was going, and that's a stretch, because I think we was all healthy and you know, we was fine. But that week, we was having a really bad week, and we started worshiping, and when I tell you there's power in it, we we seen results immediately. It started breaking, and you know, something happened in the spiritual realm. We seen breakthrough that day, that minute, that hour when we decided to do that. And that's I would say that to encourage that to give up that that complaining part of you. Yes, to give up that, you know, the depressed. There's always a reason to be depressed and cry and complain. And God wants you to throw that to the side and look to the things we're talking about and be truly thankful, not pretend thankful. No, no, no. Sometimes we're gritted through our teeth, like, you know, thank you so much, and then you end up getting there. And maybe that's your process, I don't know. But I think he wants you to truly realize what we're seeing. You know, through the word of God, we're seeing that these promises are true and God does not go back on these promises.

100%. I mean, yesterday I was um I was on my knees all day long uh replacing bricks into a driveway. And uh sound fun at all. I can't lie. Although I do like that, I do like, you know, uh brick lane. I I actually enjoy it. I do, I actually enjoy it, the patterns and putting it all down, but this was different, you know, and uh all that to say at the end of the day, um, and because I'm gonna be going here, I guess, Monday or Tuesday, whenever we get done that. Uh, I'm supposed to be heading back to Delaware for uh a month or two. I'm trying to tie up some loose ends, and I'm coming back down to Florida, Lord willing. And uh I was I I can't lie, I was pretty depressed. I was, I was I was ready to give up. I'm not gonna lie. And I called up my mom, and I I was, I was just complaining. And uh man, she just started putting the word into me. She's very good at she was like, Greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world, you know. She was like, don't get discouraged, you know. Uh the the the the righteous have many problems, but he will deliver them all, you know what I mean? From every one of them. And these are things that the Bible tells you. You're gonna have problems. But guess what? He will deliver you of them all. Every one of them, God will deliver you, he will give you victory, you know, and the greatest victory is we're gonna have heaven, you know. But uh, you know, the things that I've given up in my life, like you said, you know, I almost feel bad saying that. Like you're giving it up, but you are at the same time. Yeah, you're exactly and but you are you're gaining so much more. The peace that I have can't compare to the restless nights.

That's all you got. I'm telling you. It's worth it. If that's all you got, 100% come to that conclusion because I've lived without that piece. And if that piece was the only thing I received from that, it's worth it. And that's not true, because you know me, I'm a preacher, I preach abundant life, stake on the plate while you wait. You know, I do, and I believe this. And maybe I just tried to aim for the stars, hit the moon. But, you know, there is a part of this that even if, you know, like in Hebrews chapter 11, there was people they lived in in sheep's clothes, and and they were sawn asunder, and and the world was not a and they never did see the goodness of the Lord on this side of heaven. Yeah, they they see nothing but torment and and show, and the world was not worthy of them. There was kings and castles that was like you said you said scumbags, you know, and here was people that the on this side of heaven, sometimes it's like that. There's countries and there's people that are suffering, you know, and don't, you know, we're very blessed in this country, but there's people that that maybe never see it, but it's all still worth it. There's all still, even at that horrible thing to say, when you've gave up your life, it's all worth it for what is on the other side of this.

That's so good, man. That is amazing. Uh, the people that have given up their life. People that have given up everything. I'm talking about I I I I know he's my dad, but I gotta shout him out. Eddie Smith is he he he I remember there was a time he loaded up me and my brothers into a junk astro van. Give up a beautiful business. Give up a beautiful business, and we're man, we had a folders can fill with quarters. That was how we were, you know, getting around. And it my dad was one of the hardest workers I know, smartest men I know, and give it up to to to to to minister the word. And there's men like these, like, like, like my dad, like Uncle Ham Parker, you know, Uncle Billy McKenzie, they've given up so much to to to give you the word of God. And because they've seen how much there is to gain. And there is things you have to give up. But I will say this: what you have to gain spiritually, like Bob said, the peace of mind, the the the comfort of knowing that, hey, I'm going to live forever. You know, I'm able to take problems, you know. Our last episode was rolling with the punches. You're gonna be able to roll with the punches so much better, being filled with the Holy Spirit, being filled with God's word, you know. And uh don't give up on giving up things of this world.

John chapter 12, verse 25, is this he said, He that loves his life shall lose it. Think about that. And he that hates his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal. You can't escape that. You know, so it there is a part of this sometimes where you know you're you you're liable to lose something. But you can't be that superficial to where that changes you and you give up on Christ. You know, if you have to surrender something here, it's so minute compared to what Christ has for you. But he surrendered it. Everything. He gave it all.

Yeah. What does this look like? Yeah, that's right. Reach for the sky. Well, some people say Jesus was murdered or killed, but he's not. No, he willingly gave down his life. At any time he could have walked away.

I mean, a legion of angels. One angel could have destroyed the whole world.

Right, exactly. And he and he surrendered his he gave it up willingly. Willingly. And while we were spitting in his face, hatred.

Shaking our heads at him, spitting in his face, ripping the beard out of his face. Wow. And not just saying, because all we hear is father forgive them. Uh uh Josephus says that he repeatedly because if you notice, when he first got there, the boat the thieves on the cross was mocking him. But then roughly hours went by and he just kept on saying, Forgive him, forgive him, forgive him.

You know what I'm saying? Yeah, wow. Every time they said something. Wow. And Josephus said this?

Yeah. So there's i the the uh longest uh crucifix was eleven days, supposedly. Really? The shortest crucifix other than Jesus Christ was um thirty-two hours.

Well, Jesus died. It took six hours for Jesus to die.

So what I'm saying is when he realized that everything had been fulfilled. Yeah. That he had drank the whole cup, all of it. That is finished. He gave up the ghost. Right? That's when the centurion looked up and said, truly, this was the son of God. It can only come from this guy's got beat to death marred more than any other man. Yeah. Right? Give up his pride and dignity, right? The creator of the universe gave that up. And he gave up the ghost.

And he gave up the ghost.

And that's that's the that what he did for me, when I realized that that's how much he loves me, that Jesus gave up the ghost for me. And it is finished. He drank the cup, the the veil is torn, I can boldly walk into the throne of grace, so that way all the things that I give up, yeah, nothing compared to what he gave up for me. It's a reasonable service and gave us the Holy Ghost.

Oh, I love this. This is so much fun. How fun is this? I love to talk about the Lord. I can do this all day, every day. I do all day, every day. I have four sons. We do this same thing, you know. And uh, I just love the and we're trying to put the pieces together. I'm not trying to pretend like I know everything about everything. Uh, but uh, this is the most important thing to me. There is nothing more important to me. Like, like our previous guy, Henry was like, he's all in. I've been all in on this for a long time. And and there's there's shout out Henry Stewart. Henry Stewart, he's amazing, and uh, and and I love how he locks in and he's and he's and he's fully committed to something, and uh, and uh that's how I've been with the Lord, and I've tried to not come off of that and and still putting the pieces together. Let's face it, it's endless. I don't know, do we live long enough to know it all? You know, I don't think so. I don't know, and I got a late start, man. I was I was deranged for a long period of time. Me too. But uh, but praise God for his mercy and his grace, you know, uh that that he that he gave us that while we were still in our sins. Enemies of him, enemies of him, that he died for us and he made us alive together in him, you know, raised us up together in him, and made us sit in heavenly places that like what like we would have took the servant role, we would have took whatever and been happy as can be. This could this whole story could have been different. It could have been we are just happy to be your servant, your slave, how about to God. God Almighty, yeah, and that ain't how He done. No, He made you a son. Joint heirs with Christ. Joint heirs with Christ, the robe, the sandals, the ring on your finger, authority, and and do that to you. I mean, how much more if you not really giving up a lot. No, I'm right. That's what I'm saying. When anything in light of what the give up list that we have created, you know, none of it compares to what you have in Christ Jesus. It's so easy to uh to let it go. And I think that would be a better word, is just let it go. Yeah. More than giving up. Yeah.

And I I do, I do, like I said, I do want to switch gears, but there is one thing I want to tell people, whoever is watching this, to give up. Give up your suicidal thoughts. It's not you don't have to give up your life for for a thought. Give up those thoughts to the Lord. The joy of the Lord is your strength. The joy of the Lord is your that's your power. Christ in you, you're nothing without Christ. But what is it? We're not without Christ. We're not without Christ. You are not without Christ. You can come boldly to his throne. Give that thought up. You don't have to commit suicide. Jesus loves you. I love you. Bob loves you. You can reach out. Don't do that in Jesus' name. Like I said, I want to switch up gears and I want to talk about what we talked about last night, the future of Don't Give Up. Alright. So we got some pretty exciting things. I know that's crazy to say because we're like, at one point, you're like, if you're having suicidal thoughts, you know, don't give up. But then give up your life, you know what I mean? For Christ. For Jesus. Right. So I yes, and of course you want to see it. The old you, you know, that's the thing. You know, the old me, the biggest enemy I ever had was never the devil. You know, he's aggravating. But the worst enemy I ever had was me. I was probably the biggest obstacle in my life, you know, and God helped me deal with me by eliminating me. And I think that's important to understand for people that is not fully committed to this thing. The the old you, the old nature that is not born again, nature, the old Adam nature that you have is at enemy with God, the Bible says. It is not God's friend, and it is trying to kill you, it's trying to destroy you, and that's where mine was. And listen, you put that with a don't give up attitude, it can destroy you pretty fast. And it was going in that direction. And God actually helped me with that by getting rid of the old me.

Well, I think uh once you like I said, I I feel like I broken record because once you get into the word, right? Where it separates flesh and spirit, it's kind of it does make it easier to get rid of the old you, you know, and I think you kind of have to be sick of it as well. You know, I that's where a lukewarm Christian, right? You know, there's there's not really you're in one week, you're out the next, you know. Yeah, I remember I can't tell you how many times I would be in church and I feel the Holy Ghost. I'm telling you, I f I felt great. But then Monday come along and I'd go back into the same thing, you know, fall into the same trap because it was going on by feelings, you know? Correct. Yeah, but it's not about how you feel.

And and also, you know, uh uh the word of God, right? It it builds your faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing of the word of God. Yeah and without faith, it is impossible to please him.

So how about being offended? Yeah, how many people go to church you end up going there and listen, let's face it, church is filled with hypocrites sometimes. You know, if you find a good church, do not join it, you're gonna ruin it. But you go in there and you'll go in, you're liable to get offended, but you have to let that part of you go. You can't be offended. And all we otherwise, what you do is you end up a church hopper. You go from one church to the next. It's only a matter of time. If you're easily offended, bitterness, unforgiveness. There's no place with this with God. Yes, it has to be eliminated. If you're gonna have any relationship with God, you have to let those things go. And that's not easy. That's not an easy, you know, uh phrase that I said to do. I understand how hard that is to do, but it is absolutely a must. Give up being right all the time. Yeah, that's you know I have trouble with that one. Thanks a lot, you know.

Find the excuse to get up, pray, read your Bible, worship, lead your family, be the menly God of your home.

That is something that has to be eliminated, and you gotta you gotta be bold as a lion and go right after these things. And you and you're one of those people, you know, you're you go after your dad's one of those people that go after it. And all of us that are trying to do this thing, we're always amazed. Like we want to do those things, but to sometimes just uh abandon all those thoughts that we could talk ourselves out of excuses, fears, all these things, and just go after it. And look at the results that you end up seeing, changed people's lives. You know what I mean? It's Christ in you, of course. I'm not trying to take you out of the way, but that's something that is is from giving up.

And I can't think of anything better than the word of God. Get in your word, and I promise you, you know, it will, it'll divide all those things that that that flesh that is rising up inside of you. Give it up. It's impossible not to change if you if you uh meditate on the word. Yep. You shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of living waters. Yep, you'll bear that fruit because the fruit that you're gonna bear from from that thing that you shouldn't be watching, yeah, it brings forth that death. When sin is conceived, it brings forth death.

You know, and Zekiel talks about uh when his vision, the the trees planted by the river of water and um and bearing fruit, and the leaves was healing for the nations, and also in Revelations and then Psalms talks about that too, and that's what we are. We are those trees planted into the river of water, bearing fruit, and and the outcome is the healing of the nation. Wouldn't it be nice for our people, instead of being known for all the negative things that's been known up until this point, to be known as those people that that is that that is holds the the secrets to the kingdom of God. Yeah. To wherever town you're in, where are they at, so I can be healed. Amen. I love so where I can be, I need to find, you know, everybody's known for something. The Amish is known for this, and and the you know, wouldn't it be something for our people to be known for that? And that's that's something that can be accomplished. Yeah. The men you're talking about in your life was only the pioneers in the beginning of it. And then look what it's happened since then. And we could turn the tide of that to where a generation sees and says, Well, they might have been this or that, but my goodness, look what they are now. And and if we could ever just find them in this town, I'm going through a lot. I need to find a gypsy or a traveling person. You'd imagine that.
