Week 1 predictions and division winner predictions
Yo yo yo, we are back. Max Vert. Football season is officially back. It is crazy, but uh it is back. So Stefan and I are back with Max Vert. We're gonna do week one picks and we're going to do our predictions on the uh divisions in the NFL. How are you doing today? Oh man, I'm super excited.
SPEAKER_01Before we hopped on the pot, I was just telling you that this is one of the things that I enjoy most. Like I do all these different ventures I have that trying to figure out ways to just, I want to say like make money or not making money from this. Maybe one day we will. But there's a lot of different things. I start and I may or may not like it, but when I talk about sports, it's always a good time. So if it can get to that point eventually, that's dope. But the first thing we got to do in is put in the reps, put in the time and see if it's something that we like and enjoy. And uh if people rock with us as well. So I'm glad to hop back in with you, E, and see what we can do on Max Vert. I know last year we were a little inconsistent, but we settled some things. Our life is a little bit different now. You know, you had your wedding, I have my second child, so things are a little bit more smooth. So excited for this football season and having some conversation with you and just having some fun with sports again.
SPEAKER_00Yes, we were a little consistent as far as after the football season, but I think we got to give ourselves credit. For the first year, I think we were very uh consistent on top of it, especially during the football season. Once football season ended, you know, I kind of tried to hold on and do a couple basketball pies, but with the wedding coming up and you know, you having another child coming into the picture, that's when we kind of fell off. So um, yeah, I think we definitely got to give ourselves credit though at the same time. So, and another thing to your point, um, this is yeah, it's all about having fun, right? That's the number one thing. But if you can make money off something that you love, I mean that that's what everybody wants to do, right? Everybody wants to make money off of uh something they love. That's that's why I had the dream to play in the NBA, you know, because I wanted I wanted to make money doing something I loved. I wanted to play basketball. So um first and foremost, we are just having fun. We appreciate all the friends and family uh that continue to support and listen to the show. And then there are some, believe it or not, there's some people that um, you know, I see random cities all over, honestly, the world uh that listen up to. So if you listen to us and you you're not a fri friend or family, we appreciate that as well.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, most definitely appreciate the love. And yeah, this past year was a crazy year for us, so I will give us some credit. You know, I had my second child. Um, we moved two times within the year uh from Ohio to California, back to Ohio, long story short, we missed the family support, so we're back in Ohio now, and I know you had a amazing big year for you too. So it was a lot going on, but we still held it down a little bit. And basketball was tough, basketball was definitely tough, but we're back with football season. Let's go.
SPEAKER_00We are that we are so what what was I gonna say? One other thing along the lines of oh, I was gonna say this is actually perfect. I think this is this season, NFL season or podcast season, if you will, will work better for us because now you are back fully East Coast timing. So our our our time zones are gonna match up a um, you know, a lot better. So when he was out in L or when he was out in California, we were still able to do these pods when, you know, that with that three-hour difference. So it should be easier for us to figure this out. Hopefully so.
SPEAKER_01And my schedule is pretty consistent when I can do things with free time. So other fathers, I'm sure you understand this. It's before they wake up, the kids and the family, or after they go to bed. So right now it's late, it's like 9.27 in the evening. Um, kids are asleep, wifey's getting ready to go to sleep. So here we are. So yeah, I think it's gonna be a more established schedule. So we should be off and running.
SPEAKER_00Should be good. Okay, so let me know where would you like to start? Would you like to start with divisional winners predictions for the for the season? We can kind of fly through that uh and write those down, or would you like to start with the week one games? Let's go with divisions first and then we can go into week one. Okay. So uh we will start in the AFC East. Uh let me go ahead and click on 2025 season and kind of refresh the memory. So AFC East last year the Patriots won um 14 wins. Bills, 12 wins, solid season. Uh obviously the Miami Dolphins and Jets are in that division. But uh I guess I will go first uh for the AFC West in 2026. East or sorry, East, yeah. I'm so used to saying AFC West. Of course you are. Uh a little biased there, but thank you for that. AFC East 2026. Uh I'm gonna go with the Buffalo Bills.
SPEAKER_01All right. Do you want to give our ranks for the whole division, all four teams, or just the winner?
SPEAKER_00Uh yeah, I can do that. That that'll make it a little more interesting. So AFC East, Buffalo Bills won. Uh, and really the reason behind that, I just think they have more experience than the Patriots. Patriots had a great year last year, but the fact of the matter is they did play only one team during the regular season that went on to make the playoffs. So uh schedule did help them out tremendously last year. Not to say that they're a bad team, but the Bills have a little bit more experience. Uh so I'm gonna go with the Patriots as the number two seed in that uh division, followed by the New York Jets and then the Miami Dolphins.
SPEAKER_01All right. Well, I'll spice it up and go from last to first. So with the last two teams, of course, we don't really need to talk about much. I agree. I got Miami last, um Jets in third. And then we have a little bit of a difference right off the bat. I love it. I'm gonna go with Buffalo as my second place out of the AFC East, and I'm gonna go Patriots coming back and getting that one seed again. Um, and my reasoning, I agree with the schedule. New England definitely had a historically bad as far as strength of schedule last year. But I think another year of Drake May getting some playoff experience, although he didn't play that great in the playoffs, but having more experience under his belt, seeing what it's like to go through some tough teams will help him in this next run. And then a lot of this pick for me is that I don't really think that Buffalo made some improvements. I mean, they made a change with their head coach, they brought in DJ Moore. I don't know if that's enough for them to really make a big jump. They have Josh Allen, but I think they're two Josh Allen dependent. Uh, and then new coach, new defensive coordinator, some new things going on there. Patriots have another year under Vabrel. Vabrill, damn, how'd I say his name? Vrabel. There we go. Vrabel. Yeah. Yeah. And uh he's a culture setter there. So I like what they're what they're doing. Okay, kitty in the back. If they're listening on a pod, they're gonna be like, what's going on? My man, uh, his cat jumped on his Deborah Broncos helmet in the background over there. But um, yeah, so I'm gonna go with New England. I think they're gonna have another solid year. I don't think it's gonna be as good as last year, record-wise, but I also don't think Buffalo is as good of it as they've been in the past. So I think both of these teams aren't gonna be as good as some people think, but I think New England will win the division.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so we got Bills, Patriots uh for the AFC East, AFC North. Uh I actually did a a couple YouTube videos. Uh you can check them out. Uh my my page on YouTube, easy underscore E underscore 80. And just on predictions of the 2026 season on a couple teams. I think I've done four teams now, and the Bengals and Browns uh were two teams I did. And so the Browns, long story short, um I actually think they're gonna have a pretty good year. Uh, and that good year is six wins, okay? But I don't think they're gonna be favored, and I wouldn't have them the favorite in probably any game. So I think they're gonna steal six wins. I think they're gonna win two divisional games, and then uh they'll win four other just games outside of the division. Uh, but I actually have the Bengals going 12-5 this year. And the reason for that is I have the Bengals uh winning this division because I have them going four and two in the AFC North. Um, and the reason for that is the other three teams in this division, Steelers, Ravens, and Bengals, all have a new head coach on their team. So they had a different head coach last year. And whether it be a veteran head coach or first-time head coach, teams that get a new head coach on their team from the following year, um the the prior year, uh they have a win percentage of roughly 45 to 50 percent. So that tells me that you know, new head coaches just don't come in, whether they have experience or not, and go, you know, get out and win 12, you know, plus games. So because of that, I have the Bengals uh winning this division, followed by the Ravens, Steelers, and sorry uh for the Browns fans, I have the Browns coming in the four spot. But listen to me, six wins out of the Browns this year, I think, is a success. So I'm gonna go with the um the Bengals.
SPEAKER_01All right, and the Browns are my team now. So not now. I've been rooting for them for a while, but Alex always gives me a side eye because it's like, yo, you don't have no teams, you just got players and whatnot. But the Browns, I've been rocking with them for the last like five or six years, but yeah, they're not doing nothing until they figure out that quarterback position. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like they have that quarterback on their roster as much as I'd love to see Shador do his thing. If they're saying Deshaun Watson is more capable right now, that's not a good look. Um, so but I do agree they have a good roster. So I think that they can steal some games, but I still have them last in division. And then uh followed by I got the Steelers after that. I just think kind of like you said, new head coach Aaron Rodgers is a a year older. Even though I like their defense a little bit, they got some good players. I'm still thinking that they're not going to be able to achieve anything crazy. And then here we go. We got another difference. I'm going with um Bengals seconds. I like what you said about Zach Taylor returning as the only returning coach from this division. My thing about the Bengals is that they really tried to make some differences or some changes on their defense. So I like that. And I think they're gonna be better off. But my problem with the Bengals is they have slow starts usually, and then also Joe Burrow seems to get dinged up a lot. So I'm gonna lean with the team that has been pretty, I can't say dominant because that division is like Steelers, Ravens, Bengals haven't been that great recently. Um, but I'm gonna go ahead and go with the Ravens. I think that's my team that I always have trust in, and I think Lamar is gonna have a bounce back season. They do have a new coach, but maybe they needed a change in the locker room. Sometimes that can be beneficial. Um, so we'll see how it goes. Also, they got the new defensive coordinator from the Chargers. I think that's gonna be a plus for them on the defensive side of the ball. So hopefully Lamar can get back to his winning ways, not get dinged up, start running the ball again a little bit more, and the Ravens can take that division.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so Bills, Bengals, and then Pats, Ravens. Let's move on to the AFC South. This one, this one's a pretty competitive division. Um I could make a case for three of the teams. Tennessee, you know, I still think they're gonna have to go through growing pains, although they are kind of a sleeper team for a lot of uh analysts. You know, they think the Titans can, you know, kind of be sneaky and and win win in, you know, maybe eight or nine games. But I want to go with the Colts, but with Daniel Jones coming off an Achilles injury, it's gonna take a little bit of time to bounce back. Um I think I'm gonna go with the the Texans to win this division this this year. Jacksonville had a hell of a year last year. They went uh 13 wins, four losses, and they won that division. It almost seemed like Houston had a down year with the way CJ Stroud was playing, uh, but they won 12 games last year. So as we know, CJ Stroud has not played well since his rookie year, and they're somehow still winning 12, you know, 12 games. So if CJ Stroud is just a little bit better, which I think he will do this year, because I think he understands um it's put up or shut up, and if he has another bad season, they might have to consider other options. So I am going to take the Houston Texans to win this division, followed by the Jacksonville Jaguars and then the Indianapolis Colts and then the Titans.
SPEAKER_01Awesome. So we have the same order in this division. So Titans last, Colts third, Jags second, and Houston first for me as well. My reason with Houston is that defense is so legit. It's the the best unit in this division. Um, Jacksonville, I like Jacksonville. I liked them a lot last year. I had them win a division last year. Um, but the thing with Jacksonville is their offensive line is trash, and Trevor Lawrence tends to be very inconsistent. So if the offensive line isn't doing great, he's liable to do some kind of fraud. And then their defense was very opportunistic last year. They had a lot of turnovers, but that's one of the stats that doesn't really carry over to the next year a lot of times because it's you know it's turnovers. Sometimes you get lucky with those. Um so I like Houston. Their defense is super consistent. It's the the best defense, in my opinion, in the NFL. Right now, we'll see how the Rams are now that they got uh Miles Garrett and Airdano back, but I really like their defense and um CJ Stroud.
SPEAKER_00You're missing the team there on the best defense. Oh, my bad, my bad, my bad. I know y'all led the league of sacks, but you know more than just sacks. More than just sacks. Boys took them to the took them to the AFC championship game.
SPEAKER_01We'll talk about that, you know. We got that coming up a little bit. But um, yeah, I like the Texans here. I think CJ is gonna kind of like what you said. He he has to step up. He doesn't have to do anything crazy, you know. They also got David Montgomery now, so hopefully that can help their run game. Um, I know they have some injuries with the receivers, so the receivers come in healthy this year. I think he's gonna have more options and he is gonna understand that the defense is legit. He just has to not turn the ball over, make some solid plays, and they'll be all right.
SPEAKER_00Okay. We agree. We agree on one. Last division of the AFC. We have the Denver Broncos. The uh the Denver Broncos, the um Chargers, Chiefs, and Raiders. Uh easiest one on this. Raiders will finish last. Yes. Um uh this one's pretty easy for me. Uh Denver, uh, if you if you remove the bias, you know, they brought all their players back um from last year. They they they really only lost John Franklin Myers on the defensive line, uh, which he was kind of a pickup. Um so they pretty much brought all their players back, and then they added Jalen Waddles. So, you know, now Cortland Sutton has a guy on the opposite side of the ball that, you know, is just as good as him, if not better. So teams can't just key on Cortland Sutton the entire game. Uh J.K. Dobbins uh hopefully, you know, is healthy. So I have Denver, uh, you know, they went to the AFC Championship game last year, and um, you know, Bo Nicks had a great win. Uh he he beat Josh Allen in the playoffs. So uh yeah, I think the experience, you know, all that, Kansas City, I think a little bit of a step back. They were already declining, I think, last year, and that's again, no bias or hatred towards the Chiefs, but they were 6-8 with Pat Mahomes last year, healthy. So coming off of the ACL injury, I know how it is. Um, you're not 100% right away. Uh so I think the Chiefs take a step back. I have the Chiefs finishing in third and the Chargers in second place.
SPEAKER_01All right, we're all mixed up here. I knew this was gonna be a tough one for us. So I got, of course, Raiders last. You're not gonna like this, but I got your Broncos third. Hey, every time you dump the Broncos, they they they they show you up, so that's fine. I got the Chiefs second, and I got the Chargers first. But I think actually all three of these teams, the three teams at the top here, all three will make the playoffs, in my opinion. I think this division is just brutal right now. You have the Chargers first? Chargers first, yes. The reason I have the Chargers first is I like um the new offensive coordinator coming in, Mike McDaniels. I think he is gonna have something special for um Herbert, and I think that their offensive line was just terrible, injured last year. They get both more.
SPEAKER_00They just lost, they just lost the guy for the season this year on the offensive line. Uh it is they lost him in uh training camp. Tyler Beatis, uh center.
SPEAKER_01Damn, man, they can't catch a break off that offensive line.
SPEAKER_00So Chargers are always Charger.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's true. It's true. It's not a team that has seen a lot of success. But I like over that changes me a little bit, but I'm still gonna I'm gonna stick with the pick. I'm gonna go with the Chargers. Um I'm nervous about it. I'm not confident about that at all. And then the reason I have the Chiefs second is just one thing Patrick Mahomes. You mean he's like he's like, you know, LeBron and Jordan. He's in he's in the goat debate for me. So as long as he is in his prime, I know he's coming off the injury. You can't say that, bro. Like he's still catching that.
SPEAKER_00He was six and eight last year. Bro, they've been to 22 touchdowns, 11 interceptions. He's been declining every year. Every year, look at his stats. He didn't but it's about winning the games, right? You drank the cool you drank the Kool-Aid last year with Patrick Mahomes, and you picked them week after week to win games, and you probably had eight losses on your picks because you just didn't think the the Chiefs could lose a game because that's Patrick Mahomes.
SPEAKER_01That's fair. And I'm gonna keep going. I'm gonna give it another year, bro. They have one down year. The one down year. He's had some years where his stats have declined, but they've been to the last, they've been to five Super Bowls the last seven years, and he's still in his prime. So it's hard to for me to be. Yes. I I if if I'm wrong, I'm not gonna like I feel you. Like I'm just gonna go ahead and be like, all right, bro, he's Patrick Mahomes, he's still, what is he like, 29 or 30?
SPEAKER_00And here's a here he's 30, but here's another point. Mobile quarterbacks, 30 is different than Joe Joe Burrow.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, but he's not mobile like that.
SPEAKER_00He's not he extends plays, that's exactly what he does. He he is not he's not a Peyton man, he doesn't sit back and carve up the defense or a Joe Burrow. He doesn't sit there like Joe and and and Peyton Manning. He moves a lot. And to come off an ACL injury, how did he tear his ACL? Moving around, trying to buy time. It's he's declining, he's 30 years old. It's it's more like he's 35 years old because of the because of the way he plays quarterbacks. So I don't know, man.
SPEAKER_0127 touchdowns and one more year, one more year, one more year. I'm gonna rock with him one more year. And I didn't even say they're gonna win the division or the Super Bowl or nothing. I just said they come in the second in their division. That's all I said.
SPEAKER_00Because Patrick Mahomes.
SPEAKER_01Because of Patrick Mahomes. Hopefully, their running game is more supportive this year. They bring in Kenneth Walker. Uh the defense, uh, I don't know what's gonna happen there. Chris Jones getting older. Um, obviously, Travis Kelsey as tight end getting older. So I don't love it. I definitely don't love it, but I'm a guy that believes in greatness of individuals, and I've seen him do it too many times for me to just be like, okay, one bad year, I'm done with him. So I don't want to do that. And on the opposite end, that's kind of how I feel why I don't have Denver higher than the Chiefs. I just don't feel like I've seen enough from Bo Knicks to be like, oh yeah, he's that dude. And he came off an injury too. So they might have a little bit slower start. A broken bone or a torn looking. There's I mean, it's a difference, but he's still he's not gonna be. I'm saying he might have a slow start at the beginning because he hasn't been getting a lot of reps in and everything, trying to trying to get back where he needs to be. So I think that the beginning of their season might be a little bit rough for Denver. Last year they won a lot of close games, some comeback games. I don't know if they have the same fortune this year. Um, so I think that division is really tough. I like all three of those teams. Uh, I like Denver's team and I like Chargers team more than I like the Chiefs team, but I'm just arrive with with my homes to to have some my homes magic. So we'll see how that goes for me. It might be losing money like I did last year with the Chiefs.
SPEAKER_00100% you are if if you're thinking they're going to be old time 2023 Chiefs. And one other point on the on the Chargers, they don't have offensive talent. So I'm very surprised that you made that pick because their skill players are they're they're pretty average. You know, Ladd McConkey on you know would lad McConkey play on the Bengals? You know with T Higgins and I'm just saying the best team the best receivers would Ladd McConkey play on the Broncos with Cortland Sutton and Jalen Waddell? Would Ladd McConkey play man on a lot of teams uh you know Ladd McConkey Amarian Hampton Quentin Johnson I like Hampton I like the run I like the running back but you're right yeah they don't have that many weapons so I just scares nothing scares anyone on that offensive side of the ball. So I was surprised with that pick. But you know they do have a good coach so I I I will give you that anyone it really comes down to Denver and the Chargers in my opinion. The Chiefs are they're just they're in a they're in a tough spot right now. And we'll see though. I could be wrong but uh I'm I can't wait to come back to this podcast.
SPEAKER_01Yeah I mean I like like I said I like all three of these teams I wouldn't be surprised I I would be surprised if the Chiefs won the conference but I wouldn't be surprised if Devil did.
SPEAKER_00Yeah won the um division okay all right you know I had to that's the well we're gonna spend the most time on that of course passionate about my boys. That's fair yeah that is fair now let's go to the NFC so NFC East Philly is a team that I'm I I'm in the middle on I feel like they could be really good. I feel like they could take a step back you got the Cowboys the commanders the Giants I will say now this season I am starting to see on quarterback ranking list almost on anyone I see in the media Dak above Jalen. And I tried it last year I tried to say it Dak is a better pure quarterback than Jalen and Jalen was not not the greatest last year. He wasn't wasn't the worst but um Dak really moves that ball. I mean he has two really good receivers but um you know I think hands down Dak is better better than uh Jalen Hurts but anyway um I do think I do think the Eagles are going to win this division they just have you know they're kind of like um you know they just they're they they got a nice mold of players and they're bringing a lot of players back. I know they lost AJ Brown but that guy that could actually help the team because of the headache he can be on and off the field. So uh I got the Eagles winning this division and followed I mean I think it's literally going to finish exactly how it did last year. Eagles won, Cowboys two commanders three and Giants four.
SPEAKER_01All right yeah this is a tough division for me with the top two teams as well kind of split like you said with the Eagles but I'll start from the bottom like I have been I'm going commanders at the bottom here. I just last year I obviously had a whole bunch of injuries and though they brought in some new defensive guys but I don't know if Daniels can can get back to form like his rookie year. Seems like he just his overall style of play his body type I don't know if that's going to hold up in the NFL so unfortunately though like he was pretty fun to watch and then hopefully he can get back to that but um another fun team to watch which I don't think they'll be good but they'll be entertaining is the Giants so I'll have them third with uh Jackson Dart and Scataboo like they're definitely an interesting fun team to watch but I don't know if they have enough talent to really do much or experience so I don't think they'll they'll really be able to do anything crazy. Love to see OBJ you know catch some balls. That'll be nice. And then yes pause but I mean that's like that's what receivers do man they be catching balls bro it ain't that it ain't that serious bro you need to do all that you'd have to do all that all right number two number two um I'm gonna go with the Eagles as second here and my biggest reason isn't because so much the Eagles are kind of weird like they've been weird for the last couple years they had the the whole like like the energy from AJ Brown and the locker room situation. The coachings like with the quarterback is kind of weird. There's a lot of things that I don't like but they just keep winning a lot of football games so I still like the Eagles I think they could make a run but I like what the Cowboys did on the defensive side of the ball. So we already know their offense is explosive their defense was trash last year. They tried to address it a little bit this year. So I like their additions on defense and I think Dak with um Lamb and pick ins I think that's gonna be a lot of touchdowns a lot of of almost as something else a lot of balls in the air a lot of balls in the air a lot of ball catching out there yeah so I think they're gonna be solid for sure on offense. I mean like you said Dak Prescott Prescott he's been great uh for a while now so I think that'll continue and I think their defense is going to be better than it has been so I like the Cowboys to win that division this year.
SPEAKER_00I like that pick and I think I'm gonna root for the Cowboys to win that division just because you know I I feel I kind of feel for the Cowboys fans you know they haven't been good for a long time and the Eagles have pretty much won that division it seems for like 10 straight years so I would just like to see something different and uh I think I'll be rooting for the Cowboys to win that division this year on a personal side. So let's move on to the NFC North this is another division that's what was it like the AFC AFC South it's it's could it's comparable to the AFC South where you can make a case for several teams winning. So this is the Bears, Packers, Vikings and Lions um I I mean you literally it's it's it's a crab shoe you can literally make a case for every one of these teams even the Vikings with getting Kyler Murray I think Kevin O'Connell is such a good coach he knows how to get greatness out of um average quarterbacks and you know Kyler I still think is a little bit above average so interesting to see how he will perform Kyler will perform with Kevin O'Connell I think they'll have a solid team Green Bay will be good. I'm just gonna throw one in the air right now and I'm not gonna have anything to back it up on because that's how competitive I think this division is so I'm gonna go with the Detroit Lions to win this division.
SPEAKER_01I think Jameer Gibbs is going to have an MVP type season and it's gonna be enough to uh get Detroit back around let's say 12 wins uh so I'm gonna go with the Lions yes this division is real tough I'm having a hard time picking but I'm gonna go with the team that I thought was going to go to the Super Bowl last year with Green Bay as my my number one well I'm messing up my order here so I'll start from the bottom we got uh we got the Vikings although I am very interested like you are to see how Kyler does with a quarterback coach I'm I'm really interested for that I like Kyler Murray he's one of my favorite players to watch because you know he's a small guy like me getting after in the NFL but he's had some issues and some growing pains but that maybe that was a lot of Arizona's problem too. So we'll see what happens there. And then I'm gonna go lions third and I feel like with the Lions the reason I have them lower is I almost feel like with Dan Campbell his magic kind of wore off like I feel like when he first came in he brought a lot of different energy and then they had that that horrible loss to I think it was the 49ers when they were up by like 20 points or something.
SPEAKER_00I knew then they were toast because I think they were up they they were up they were up 14 I believe I could be wrong but they were up like two scores could have taken a field goal in the fourth quarter to go up 17 like I'm talking 40 yard field goal very makeable to go 17 three scores and end up losing and I was like right then and there I said he messed up he might not ever get back to that situation.
SPEAKER_01And he even said it at the in the press conference he was like you know we may never get back here again and I feel like he sealed his own fate with that. So the team in my opinion has a great offense but golf is like he's a great game manager but as soon as things get a little bit hectic, you know he's not the best quarterback for that. So I think they'll have a good year but yeah I don't I don't think they're going to win the division. I think they've already let their window pass unfortunately in my opinion. So I have them third and then a team that's on the rise in that division after a pretty good outing last year the Bears you know they they had a new coach Ben Johnson come in. Caleb showed that he can be you know a little bit of a comeback kid so I think they had a lot of luck in my opinion so I don't know if they'll be able to sustain that and win the division. Green Bay is the team that I feel like is most consistent, is most reliable and then once they get Micah once they get Micah Parsons back, I think their defense will be just as good as it was before he got injured. So I like what they did. The only thing that kind of scares me is when Micah got hurt, they just started losing real bad and he's not going to be there at the beginning of the year so I don't know how they'll start but I think they have the highest highest uh ceiling of the teams in this division so I like Green Bay coming out of this division.
SPEAKER_00It's crazy that through six divisions we only have one of the same pick. I don't know this is I'd like to see us probably have at least like four of the same the NFL is tough man there's a lot of parody out here. I know it is it is it's it's it's nothing personal it's just like man we we know ball or we or maybe we don't know ball because we are all over the place.
SPEAKER_01I feel like every one we've said there's been pretty reasonable like explanation behind it on both sides.
SPEAKER_00Yeah I mean four of the six got teams that I've picked were first in their division last year. So um so the ones that weren't were the Lions and um the Bengals so and then the Bills you said you picked the Bills oh yeah I did pick the Bills. So yeah three and three yeah you're right though with the parody so we'll see we got two more divisions we'll see don't no pressure don't feel like you have to to to pick the same as me this is another division man NFC is just kind of I'm gonna say it's just not as competitive as uh the the AFC in my opinion so NFC South Panthers Buccaneers Falcons and Saints this is a poo poo division right here. You know this is eight and nine made it to the playoffs last year. Three teams went eight and nine in this division last year Panthers, Buccaneers, Falcons Panthers went to the playoffs and I was happy to see that because I I was happy to see a success story uh with Bryce Young and you know everyone you know kind of being hard on him and he turned it around his stats weren't spectacular but man give the guy credit he he went to the playoffs um so in a poo poo now he's the start yeah poo poo division for sure 100% um it's so poo I shouldn't even take any more time on it I'm gonna go with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to win the division this year and that's because of quarterback Baker Mayfield okay so we're gonna have another difference here um I got Panthers last Tampa Bay third uh Atlanta second and the Saints first how do you say the quarterback's name?
SPEAKER_01Dude you should um Tyler Shah Tyler or Tyler Shah Tyler Shah he's having a coming out party this year bro he he did pretty good his last like four or five games last year their defense is legit like their defense is good so if they get anything out of that offense in this division they'll be just fine the defense is the best in my opinion what am I looking at Tampa Panthers Atlanta yeah I think their defense is the best in that division if their offense can do anything I like it they got um I like the Travis Etienne signing so I like him with Kamara back there Chris Olave Go Bucks if uh Tyler whatever can do anything I think they're gonna have a nice little run this year and it doesn't take much to win this division. Atlanta I don't know what's happening with the quarterback situation in Kevin Stefansky after seeing what happened with Cleveland not a big fan so I don't know if they'll be able to get the most out of Bichon um but you know they might they might do something they got some talent on that team and then Panthers I'm not a Bryce young guy and Tampa Tampa was my favorite team in this division last year easily um I love their uh oh my gosh I'm blanking on our our receiver Abuka but Mecca yeah but they lost um Mike Evans they lost some other key players as well so I'm not and the vibes are kind of off with the whole like Baker trying to get his contract it seemed like there's a little disbelief in him from the front office don't like that so I don't know how I feel about Tampa this year.
SPEAKER_00So I'm gonna go with the Saints okay and and it's that's not a it's not a I can't I can't say that's a bad pick. Vegas currently has Saints as the second best odds to win that division at plus 270 Tampa Bay is plus 170 Panthers plus 310 and Falcons plus 400. So like I was saying I mean anybody can win that division. Alright last division I believe yes the NFC West this was a powerhouse division last year with the Seahawks Rams Niners and not so much the Cardinals as they lost nine straight games. I'm gonna start here just with personal experience and all bias. Nathaniel Hackett is the Cardinals offensive coordinator. He is absolutely horrendous I don't know how he keeps getting jobs and it's not just me saying this because of what he did in the Broncos. Every time he's been an offensive coordinator outside of his years with Aaron Rodgers now it's important to say outside of his years with Aaron Rodgers in Green Bay because that's an outlier and that's because Aaron Rodgers was in his prime and balling. It didn't matter who his offensive coordinator was he's been a uh a coordinator for the Jaguars the Jets uh Broncos he called offensive plays for every place he's gone he's been around the 28th 20 you know 27th through 30th ranked offenses and I hate it because Jeremiah Love went to the Cardinals I'm a big Notre Dame fan and I want him to see him do so well and I think Nathaniel Hackett's so bad he's gonna slow down Jeremiah Love. So the Cardinals are gonna their offense is going to be horrendous this year. You're hearing it right now Nathaniel Hackett is just terrible who's their quarterback starting quarterback it's uh Jacoby Brissett which is a solid yeah yeah he he's he's he's um signed a nice little deal with them for like a year or two and and they're just gonna play that role they did draft Carson Beck I think in maybe like the third round. So there's a chance he plays which um man I just it's not I think it's a little too much time on the Cardinals bro. It's uh listen it's hey you're scarred I'm I'm letting I'm letting you know how bad it's gonna be because not only that Trey McBride so you're not really a fantasy football player but McBride is sweet though. Well yeah this is where I'm going this is where I'm going. Trey McBride like number one tight end fantasy football uh I mean it's between him and Brock Bowers you know gets a hundred and something catches over a thousand something yards I don't expect that this year because of Nathaniel Hackett so that's also why I wanted to bring this up Trey McBride might have 800 yards this year. Now we can move on from the Cardinals I have the San Francisco 49ers winning the NFC that's the boldest one you've done so far. Yep you're gonna have any type of explanation for that uh you're just gonna talk about the Cardinals you know because I talked about the Cardinals so much I figured I would you know just drop the Niners and let it go but um yeah I just think uh Debo is a great ad. They know how to use him and you know Christian McCaffrey Mike Evans I can see him doing really well this year he's still a great receiver in the NFL even with his age I think the Seahawks are going to take a step back. I think that was just kind of like a uh a a Cinderella year but not you know they were good the the the Seahawks kind of remind me of like the Denver Nuggets they got their one I don't see them going back okay uh and then the Rams they're just they're they're a little old you know they're a little old you know I know Donham's come coming back defense should be fine but you know Devontae Adams and Puka's having uh on off the field issues and yeah what's up with Puka I don't know he's got off the I mean I don't know he's got off the field issues he he's he's getting hurt a little bit so um you know I think the Rams and the the Seahawks take just a little step back and I I think that the Niners are gonna steal their division this year.
SPEAKER_01All right well I'm not gonna talk about the Cardinals at all their last um 49ers are gonna be third for the Cardinals fans yeah are there any I was surprised last year when you found you found some uh you found a Carolina Panthers fan I was surprised by that well at least they made the playoffs Arizona and it ain't sniffing nothing like that. All right so 49ers they're gonna be third um second for me Seahawks stink Seahawks and uh first will be the Rams I think that potentially I don't I don't know I think the the 49ers kind of your point you mentioned about the Rams I think is more true for the 49ers in my opinion just their age and their usage like they've just been giving that ball to Christian McCaffrey so much last year and he's getting older he already had injury history before so I think that they're gonna take their offense going to take a step back. I think uh Brock Purdy's always had a lot of weapons in front of him and kind of like what I know you've said before about the Shanahan system is that a lot of quarterbacks can succeed there. So I don't know how much he can do if he has to put on the Superman cape. I think you might have to do that a little bit more. I think Mike Evans does help but I'm not sold on just the overall age and health of their lineup they always seem to be banged up. And then they also lost um uh uh oh I'm I'm losing the names again um the defensive coordinator so I think that will be a loss for them um what's his name he was a yeah Sala they lost Sala and he made a difference when he came back from the Jets when after he was done coaching the the Jets I saw I think that the defense will take a step back defense also getting older too and then the Seahawks and the Rams I think that's gonna be another just super close like it was last year. Whoever wins between the their two games together is going to go ahead and get the division probably some point towards the end of the season. I don't know the schedule but I think both of these teams will have a great year. My issue with the Rams is kind of like what you said they are a little bit older with Matthew Stafford being an older quarterback but they're stacked their rosters loaded you know they bring in Miles Garrett I watched a lot of Browns games last year in the last couple years and to imagine a Miles Garrett potentially playing with the lead often because the Rams offense is going to be pretty good I can't even imagine that because they're the Browns are always playing from behind and Dude was still getting after the quarterback. So looking forward to seeing how Miles Garrett looks um with some actual support from his offense and other good defensive players if Aaron Donald can can be himself in their off their whole defensive line is good. So they're gonna have a solid defense too so I like their overall roster build with the Seahawks I'm kind of torn if I want to say is Sam Darnold reached a point where all of his issues are behind him and he can have like a breakout year or is it just going to be more of the same and last year was more of an outlier kind of like you said like a Cinderella type story. But we have to say the last two seasons he's whether it was in Minnesota or with the Seahawks he's winning 14 plus games so they're probably going to be doing that again. So I like the Seahawks but I think that the Rams are just going to edge him out and get the dub in that division. Okay. So we had uh so many differences which ones do we have the same bro that's a just one so just the AFC South that's it's just the Texans.
SPEAKER_00Wow that's crazy yeah that's yeah yeah I mean one of us is gonna feel good one of us is gonna feel I mean or could just fall in the middle that is true that is true Um yeah, but so recap, I went these are just who we we picked through the the eight divisions. I went Bills, Bengals, Texans, Broncos, Eagles, Lions, Buccaneers, and 49ers. And Stefan went Patriots, Ravens, Texans, Chargers, Cowboys, Green Bay, Saints, and Rams. Yeah, the only one I'm not feeling good about is still your division. That's the only one. You can change it. The Broncos. You got time. You want to change it? I don't know, man. I don't know if I can get down with Bo is. Well, you were saying this, you were saying this last year, and then when they went on to beat the Bills, you're like, you know what? I was saying I I was doubting him. I gotta give Bo his credit now. That that's the game. I don't know.
SPEAKER_01Now you're backtracking. Gotta see it again, man. Greatness is hard to come by in the NFL, mate. Listen, it's hard to do things for consecutive years. Now they got more tape than know what this guy's about.
SPEAKER_00I know. He's got more touchdowns than any of the other rookie quarterbacks that were in the draft class. Caleb Williams, uh uh Jalen, Jaden Daniels.
SPEAKER_01So are you taking are you taking him ahead of all those quarterbacks if you could draft right now?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he's on my team. We went to the AFC or the AFC Championship because of him. I mean he's got more touchdowns than them.
SPEAKER_01But if you put those quarterbacks on Denver with that support with that defense, you know, they can make some noise too. But yeah, he's been balling. I'm not hating. I'm just I'm I'm just not sold. That's all. Kind of sounds like you're hating.
SPEAKER_00No, there's a difference, there's a difference between hating and believing. You said you believed last year after they beat the Bills. I forgot that. I need to see it again pull it up. I need to see it again. Because I remember calling you out about it. You're like, yeah, yeah, I know. I had to see him do it. Yeah, all right, all right, all right.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's I'll believe if he does it this year again. There we go. I'm tough, man. I'm like, greatness is hard to come by. I see that when the professional sports.
SPEAKER_00You live in the past. That's what you do. You live in the teams did in the past. It's just it's hard, bro. Like it's like the teams that win, win. And just last year was very unique. Okay, well, this is a great segment into the next section because um, you know, obviously I'm I'm giving them a little hell about Bonex and all that stuff. And no, I like to think I'm right. Okay, so this next segment is going to be picks. And, you know, quite frankly, last year um I was right in in comparison to uh in comparison to me. Um I, you know, I I won the moneyline picks.
SPEAKER_01I was trash last year because of what you said. I was I was thinking about what the teams did in the past. I was believing in in my homes and and you're doing this again.
SPEAKER_00You're doing it again. You said I need to see Bonex do it again. But that's fine. I'll let you learn your lessons for a second time. So let's go into the week one picks. And we're gonna start with uh Wednesday. I am so happy with this new NFL uh first week.
SPEAKER_01Wednesday we got a game every day and then Thursday we have a game.
SPEAKER_00So they should have just pulled off Friday, too.
SPEAKER_01What are they doing?
SPEAKER_00I thought they did, honestly, until I just now looked at it. Uh let me write down this real quick a little chart. Oh, by the way, did you join our Families League yet? They asked about you. Yeah, shoot. No, I didn't. I'm gonna do that when we get off the phone. I forgot. All right. Okay. So we'll go through these ones a little bit quicker than this that last segment, um, just because of time here. Yeah, we already talked about the teams, so you guys got an idea of what we feel about these teams. Yeah, and these picks are these are just money lines, so we're not geniuses, we're not trying to predict spreads or anything. So uh Patriots at Seattle, Super Bowl rematch, Wednesday. So the last two NFL games will be the exact same uh matchup, which is kind of interesting. So uh I'm gonna go with Seattle at home.
SPEAKER_01Yep, I like the Seahawks. They beat them down pretty bad in the Super Bowl. Still think it's gonna be much of the same. Maybe not as bad, but yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. So we are in agreement there. Let's go. Uh Thursday, San Francisco at this is big for your division.
SPEAKER_01We're talking about right here. We got your division winner against my division winner. So that's that's right.
SPEAKER_00Um Rams are favored by three and a half. Um man, this is this is gonna be a good game. It really is. Um I'm gonna go with I'm gonna go with the Rams at home. I like the Rams here too. Okay, we're going to Tampa Bay at Cincinnati. So the Cincinnati Bengals open up at home week one. I think this would be a pretty good game, but I think the defensive line with Dexter Lawrence and Jonathan Allen is gonna make a huge difference for the Bengals. Uh, and I also think this is Joe Burrow, Jamar Chase, and T. Higgins. Like, I think this is put up or shut up. If they don't have a good record this year, as long as Bo uh Burrow stays healthy, one of those receivers is gonna have to leave. So I'm going with the Bengals.
SPEAKER_01I like the Bengals. This one actually made me scratch my head a little bit because I was like, Bengals always have these slow starts, but I think kind of what you just said, they're coming in this season, no games. They really got to turn it up. They got the defensive guys in there now. So I like the Bengals to start a little bit stronger this year. And Tampa Bay's taking a step back, in my opinion. So let's go, Bengals. All right.
SPEAKER_00So far, we're on the same page. We're on the same page. All right, Saints at the Detroit Lions. It's pretty easy for me. I'm gonna go with the Lions to win at home.
SPEAKER_01This is where I'm starting up with this. Uh, this is my biggest upset of the week. I'm pretty sure I like the Saints to go ahead and shock the Lions. I think their defense is gonna show up, and I think uh Tyler Schaaf is gonna hold his ground against the Lions defense. So I like the um the Saints to have an upset here.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I like it. I like upsets. Jets at Tennessee. So the Jets at the Titans. Yeah, this is another poo-poo game right here. We uh who's the Jets quarterback right now? Gino. Oh, yeah, that's right. It's drawing a blank. Uh Geno is correct. No, we're gonna go with the Tennessee Titans at home.
SPEAKER_01All right. I'm gonna go with the Jets. I just like um Gino's experience, and I'm still not completely a fan of uh uh of Cam Ward. I don't really think the Titans have much going on for him. Neither do the Jets, so who knows who can win this game, but I'm gonna go with the Jets.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Ravens at the Colts. Ravens at the Colts, week one. Uh here is my first shocker. I am going to go with the Colts to win at home.
SPEAKER_01I like the Ravens. I think they're gonna start strong this year. New offense, have some fun with it. I think they'll come out strong. So let's go, Ravens.
SPEAKER_00Next we have the Atlanta Falcons at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Uh this is a tough one. I could see either team winning. Um I think I'm gonna have to go with the experience of the Pittsburgh Steelers and Mike McCarthy, Aaron Rodgers, because Atlanta, they they still don't even know who their starting quarterback is. So uh I'm gonna go with the Steelers.
SPEAKER_01I like the Steelers here too. I think Atlanta has potential a little bit later on in the year once they figure out that quarterback room. I think if Tua can be decent, he might be okay in um Stefansi's system, but at the beginning of the season here, they're just not ready. So I like the Steelers to win this first game.
SPEAKER_00I would love to see Penix, like that's who I wanted the Broncos to draft over over Bonex, but he obviously got drafted before. Um, you know, and obviously he got hurt. But uh so I'm a fan of Penix. I want to see him play over Tua. Um so hopefully he heals up and uh gets a chance to to play this year. Okay, Bears at Carolina. So the uh Bears at Panthers. Ooh, this is where I'm gonna go with the away team. I feel like I've taken all home teams. I'm gonna go with the Bears.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I like the Bears too. Just not a fan of Carolina overall. The Panthers still, even though they made it to the playoffs last year. The Bears are ascending team. I think another year under uh Ben Johnson. I'd like them to start a little bit stronger this year. So I think the Bears will take this one.
SPEAKER_00Browns at Jacksonville. Unfortunately, like I said, I don't think the Browns are gonna be favored in very many games this year. So because of that, I think I'm gonna have to pick against the Browns every game until they win. So I'm gonna go with the Jacksonville Jaguaters.
SPEAKER_01I'm gonna pick against the Browns every game until Deshaun Watson is no longer the starting quarterback. So he's a starting quarterback, so they're gonna lose.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I think that uh it's fair to think that you know Deshaun Watson isn't isn't great uh because he's not, but uh they think they got a lot of other I think they got a lot of other problems.
SPEAKER_01Uh then uh Hey man, their their roster, their roster is actually decent. Every NFL roster is decent. I know, but like their quarterback situation, obviously the quarterback's the most important position. So but I like their players. They got a lot of young players that are exciting and pretty good. So I think if they can just I don't think this is the year because I don't think the quarterback is in the room, unfortunately, for them. But yeah, it's definitely not Deshaun. I think they gotta at least see if Shador can do anything.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, it'll get there at some point during the season. Okay, Bills at Texans. I like I like Buffalo in this game. CJ Stroud is um it's just not looking good. He's not looking good. And uh yeah, that's it. I got I got Bills.
SPEAKER_01I like um the Texans in this game. This might be incorrect, but I'm pretty sure the last couple times these these teams have played the Texans defenses, has some for Josh Allen. I think it'll be more of the same. That defense is just so legit. So as long as they come with the same energy and the same talent and on the same vibes as last year on the defensive side of the ball, I think CJ will be able to do enough to put up uh enough points because I don't think they're gonna have to put up a crazy amount. Uh, a lot of games this year. So I like the Texans at home.
SPEAKER_00Okay. This one is the battle of the bad. We got Miami at Las Vegas. So Dolphins at um at the Raiders. Oof man, I don't really I'm gonna go Kirk Cousins. It's just that simple. I'm gonna go with Kirk Cousins and the veteran over the Dolphins. I'm gonna go with the Raiders.
SPEAKER_01That's how I feel too. I think Cousins with that offense with Gentee and Bowers, and I don't know if don't be able to do too much, but at least it's better than what Miami can do. Sorry, Malik Willis. I hope you do your thing, man. But I don't think that it's gonna be much for you this year. So uh Raiders will feel good for one game at least.
SPEAKER_00Exactly. Packers at Vikings. Minnesota was always a pretty good team at home, I feel like. Um I'm gonna go with Minnesota. I think they just have more uh talent on the offensive side of the ball. And at the end of the day, points win you games, so I'm gonna go with the Vikings to win.
SPEAKER_01I like Green Bay, although I feel like a lot of times this season I'm gonna feel a little bit hesitant to pick Green Bay, but I just feel like they have the the um I don't maybe chemistry might not be the best word, but they have you know stability. Head coach, Jordan Love's been the quarterback a couple years. He's pretty good. I think he has potential to be really good. Uh I agree with their weapons aren't the best, but maybe Golden can come into his own this year and be a number one receiver. They have a lot of good players, but not great players. So I think they have enough good players, and if Jordan Love plays well, they should be fine. So I like um Green Bay to start the season right.
SPEAKER_00Uh are you sure you don't want to uh reconsider with Josh Jacobs being out indefinitely?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Josh Jacob is he's a really good back, but yeah, like I still like the Green Bay Packers overall. We have to see what we don't even know what's gonna happen with Minnesota. Like we don't even know if Kyler's gonna be sweet or not.
SPEAKER_00So For sure. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of the situation. So I appreciate that. He he's uh suspended right now. Okay, suspended? Yeah, Alton definitely. So he he's on the commissioner exempt list. Same with Jonathan Cooper for the Broncos. Him and Jacobs for their domestic um violence a allegations, they're currently on the exempt list, so they they cannot play.
SPEAKER_01So there's no resolution for that.
SPEAKER_00They don't know when it would be. Exactly. I think they just it's pretty much just like paid leave. So they want the facts to come out legally wise before they uh let the guys play. So I'm pretty sure, but let me just um I'm pretty sure he's suspended. So I don't know that that that might change your pick a little bit. I don't know. I'm just letting you know.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I'll still go with the Packers. I like Jordan Love.
SPEAKER_00I think I have too much faith in him, but I like him. Okay. All right, fair enough. We will move on to commanders at Philadelphia. Philly's just not losing this game at home. Uh, so I got the Eagles.
SPEAKER_01I like the Eagles, but I think that the Commanders might have, you know, they're gonna be healthy. Jane Daniels first game, healthy. That could be scary for the opponent, but I think the Eagles are just too much. They have, like you said, their rosters pretty uh there's not too many places you can look at the roster and say, what's going on? They have a lot of good things for them. So I like the Eagles to win.
SPEAKER_00Okay. Two more games. We got Cardinals at uh Chargers. Same thing with the Cardinals that I said with the Browns. So we'll make it short with the Cardinals this time around. I have the um the Chargers winning.
SPEAKER_01Yep, same here. Just don't think the Cardinals are gonna win many games this year at all. And it's not gonna happen in week one.
SPEAKER_00And then lastly, to finish it off, uh-oh. Actually, we got two more. We got two more. We got two more. Dallas at New York. So the Cowboys at the Giants. Uh I think the Giants, I think Jackson Darts, his hype is fair, uh, but I think Cam's Scatterboo hype is way overblown. Um, I think I don't think he's that good, honestly. Um, I'm gonna go with the Cowboys to win this game pretty easy.
SPEAKER_01I mean, the Cam Scataboo hype for me was his college, like I don't know if you were watching. Well, his college highlights were dope. Not even the college highlights. I'm talking about when he put his team on his back, and I was watching that game against, I think it was Texas that were playing, and he was just going crazy. I was like, who is this dude, bro? So I was pushing him down. Yeah, yeah, he was a warrior, man. I think people can they can they can get behind that type of mindset. But yeah, as far as like, I think people know he's not like the one of the best backs in the NFL or nothing. I think they just they vibe with his his energy. Um, and Jackson Dart, I agree he does have some upside, but he has a very immature mindset. I don't think he's ready to lead an NFL team to too many victories, and it's not gonna start in this first game uh against the Cowboys. So Cowboys should take care of business.
SPEAKER_00All right. Now, last but not least, I can't believe they're gonna do this to me. They're gonna make me wait till 8.15 on Monday. And you probably gotta work at like 4 a.m. or something. I gotta get up at 5.8 5 30 a.m. the next day. Whew, that's gonna be tough. Uh, but the good news is um um the Broncos are gonna win this game. The Broncos are playing.
SPEAKER_01We're waiting for the good news.
SPEAKER_00The date was tripping me up because uh it says Monday, September 14th, and I'm thinking of the holiday Monday this weekend. I'm like, oh, well, I have that day off from my my nine to five job. So I was just like in a mind, you know what. Right. All right, so Denver at Kansas City. Um, bias aside, I I try to tell people if you listen, if you want to listen, you can listen. But this is the easiest money line of week one.
SPEAKER_01Oh, it's the definitive it's not the easiest money line.
SPEAKER_00The easiest money line of week one. You want to you want to make some money. Kansas City's favored by three. Denver is going to win this game and Kansas City. I'm not sure if Mahomes is playing. Uh, it'd probably be smart if they you know didn't play him. Uh, but if he is playing, you best believe he's not gonna be running around like he did uh when he got hurt last year because he needs to make sure that Neith is healthy for the entirety of the year. So it's gonna take time for Patrick Mahomes to get back to where he is used to being. And with all that being said, the Broncos are gonna beat the Chiefs for the um third straight time, fourth straight time? Oh, yeah. That's right. Broncos. All right. Well, I'm gonna make you mad. You're making yourself mad. Listen. I'm winning.
SPEAKER_01We're gonna go with the Chiefs. You know, four straight times we beat them. Has it been four straight? Well, I guess one time was without um Patrick Mahomes. Yeah, the last game was without Mahomes, and they almost y'all almost lost, right? That was that close game, and I don't even remember the quarterback's name for the Chiefs. It was like the last game or second to last game of the season. Um but uh I I'm gonna go with the Chiefs, and I'm obviously expecting Patrick Mahomes to play in this game. And going into Arrowhead Monday night game, Mahomes is gonna do some Mahomesy and stuff, even if it's all one leg. Even if it's all one leg. Uh it's all one leg, he's gonna live in 2021.
SPEAKER_00He's gonna he's gonna buy it. Patrick Mahomes is Mahomes of 2021. But the K-Pon Patrick's capable. Oh my gosh. I got outplayed by Bill Knicks last year.
SPEAKER_01Oh, we'll see what happens. We'll see what happens. But I'm gonna go to the Chiefs too many times. I mean, I will say this. If we get like three, four games into the season, and Patrick looks like he's moving okay with his knee and and the Chiefs aren't doing well, I'm not gonna give him as long as a leash as I gave him last year. I'm not gonna do that because the decline has been steady, even when they were winning games. Even when they went to the Super Bowl two years ago, Mahomes, his um stats start weren't looking as great. But he they still were winning games. So last year was the year where his stats didn't look great. He got hurt, and they were losing games. So I don't know if if that all is gonna happen again. I think that they still have, I think they still they still have something to prove. Now they have something more to prove because they came off Super Bowl loss, a bad year. Now we got something new. Uh-oh. For those of you not watching, we're gonna bring it to him, boys. My man just put on the the Broncos helmet.
SPEAKER_00Broncos by 10, 9.5. Take the alternate spread. It's happening. Chiefs are washed.
SPEAKER_01They might be, they might be, but I'm gonna hold the I'm gonna hold the line for him. Like you're holding that LeBron line, huh? Oh, no, no. LeBron at this point, LeBron at this point, I'm not expecting anything. LeBron is just, that's just seeing how long he can still play decently. I'm not saying he's the GOAT. Mahomes is like, I still feel like when it comes to quarterbacks, I still would want him on my team. I can't, I mean, I still want Mahomes.
SPEAKER_00All right, brother. Well, what a great pod back. I I felt a little bit rusty, but it'll get better. It'll get better for sure. I shouldn't feel rusty because I've been doing similar stuff to this, but you know, a lie, not a lie, but you know, first take can kind of mess you up a little bit. So uh great pod, an hour long. I'll send this to my friends, uh, family, get this uploaded. It's probably gonna be at this point uh tomorrow when I'm gonna get it. Yeah, we'll get it out tomorrow.
SPEAKER_01So I'll try um, I'll check out the YouTube situation too. We'll see what we're doing, and then hopefully as we get more reps underneath us, we'll figure out how to get the short form content too, so you guys can follow us on TikTok and Instagram, all that good stuff, and we'll have some fun with it. Some of you guys hop on with us.
SPEAKER_00So we got I'll just one last thing. One game, two game, three, four, five. Five different games. That's actually not too bad. So we're pretty much in the same area for the game.
SPEAKER_01I mean, five is still a good amount, though. Like that's still a lot. So out of the five, like the ones that I'm I'm not confident about the Chiefs game. I can easily see Denver win that game.
SPEAKER_00I know you want to pick the Broncos so bad. You can do it.
SPEAKER_01It's not it's not even it's not it, it's not even a Broncos thing, it's the Chiefs thing. That's the that's the holder. It's not the Broncos like that. It's like I'm still I'm still believing that Patrick Mahomes is still Patrick Mahomes.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_01And then oh yeah, the Saints, that's my upset. Okay. So we'll see. We'll see what happens with the Saints. I'm interested. I'm intrigued by them.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, uh the one the one game that I think you should be worried about is probably the Saints at at Detroit. Detroit at Detroit's pretty good, so um, yeah, that one's that one and that was yeah.
SPEAKER_01I feel like they might get routed or something.
SPEAKER_00Now the one I'm worried about, yeah, they could get routed. The one I'm worried about is Ravens at Colts. Um now that I'm looking at it, I'm like, where's the logic in that? But we'll see.
SPEAKER_01Hey. Hey, this is what it's about. We don't know. The good thing about the games is they gotta play them, right? So here we go.
SPEAKER_00All right, man. Well, enjoy that uh zoo tomorrow with the family. Uh of course, the time I'm coming into Dayton year, coming to Columbus.
SPEAKER_01Right. All right, brother. Sounds good, man. And uh yeah, we'll be in touch soon. Go Broncos, go Browns. Peace.
