SPEAKER_00

Hi, my name is Abby.

SPEAKER_01

And I'm Brandon.

SPEAKER_00

And this is Travel Trauma, a podcast dedicated to sharing traumatic travel experiences we have encountered during our trips.

SPEAKER_01

Short disclaimer for you guys. Our opinions and experiences are our own. This podcast is not meant to throw shade on any travel tour or location we have visited. So take everything we say with a grain of salt.

SPEAKER_00

And we usually cause the trauma ourselves.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, if you've followed us up to this point, you should know that by now.

SPEAKER_00

But we are on day two of Iceland.

SPEAKER_01

Which surprisingly, we thought this was gonna be a much shorter trip in terms of uh episodes, but we're finding out that that's not the case. This episode, we're gonna go over a hungover hike, getting gas in the mess that that was. Collapse in pound town, 14-mile hike, the soup buffet catastrophe, blue lagoon, and microbar.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

So at first the hungover hike. I was not hungover, but I was feeling great because I had my neck quill the day before. I'm finally feeling better and ready for the day.

SPEAKER_01

Except for she thought that we brought strangers over the the previous night.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I did think that, but I'm happy that you guys didn't bring randos into our Airbnb.

SPEAKER_01

We did not do that, thank God. Otherwise, she would have been pissed off. I would have been there now. Yes. But everybody else was hungover. I wasn't really hungover either, though. Like I had pretty much winded it down for me, but apparently Amanda's guy and Harrison were all hungover. And I was just very confused about that because Harrison, we had literally just picked up. But I guess we did go out to the bars.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, he also like immediately got off a plane and like went out to the bars with you guys, and then you guys didn't sleep or anything.

SPEAKER_01

That is true. He did get off the plane.

SPEAKER_00

So maybe he wasn't hungover, maybe he was just tired.

SPEAKER_01

So since nobody really looked at my itinerary or anything, today was actually supposed to be the 14-mile hike, which uh I don't know what I was thinking.

SPEAKER_00

None of us questioned this hike. We were just like, Yeah, that sounds good.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's because you guys didn't look at my actual Excel spreadsheet.

SPEAKER_00

I just saw hike and I was like, yeah, that sounds good to me. Uh but then as we were getting closer and I actually pulled it up, I was like, why does it say 14 miles?

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so to preface this whole entire thing, like the week prior or a week or a half prior to coming to Iceland, there was a volcano eruption in Iceland on this specific hike. And I was like, oh my gosh, we're gonna do this hike and we're gonna hike to see real lava. I didn't really think it through my mind about how long it was gonna be, but I was like, we're doing it anyway because I mean, frickin'.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, we have to see lava. Yes, like I was really excited about the lava. I was hyping it up. I was telling everybody at work that I was gonna touch lava.

SPEAKER_01

And I had looked on Instagram and I had seen like all these things about this burrito man who makes lava. I saw burrito man. You saw I saw him too.

SPEAKER_00

I sent the reel to you. Oh, okay. Maybe that's what it was. I was like, we are visiting burrito man and he's gonna make his burritos over lava, and that's like so crazy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but to get there, we had to stop and actually get gas because at this point I had driven back and forth to the airport like twice now.

SPEAKER_00

And we weren't out of gas, we were just trying to be prepared because everything, this whole trip, everything is pretty far apart, and we had to drive like hours to get places. We were trying to be responsible, which I mean Yeah, we were trying not to run out of gas on a side of a random road in Iceland with nobody around us.

SPEAKER_01

Well, listen, you guys, like just like the parking machine, we could not figure out how to we could not figure out how to pump gas. This is the first time I've ever driven in a different country, and I didn't know that I I guess European countries because I guess they're a part of the European Union. Is Iceland a part of the European Union?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't think so. I'm not actually sure, so don't quote me on that, but I don't think that they are because they didn't use euros, they used those Atlantic like dollars. So I feel like they're not a part of the European Union.

SPEAKER_01

Point being, they use liters instead of gallons, so that automatically like us that you can make it part of the European Union. Well, I thought that that was part of like whatever the European Union just like the metric system. Oh, okay, the metric system. European Union is on the metric system, okay?

SPEAKER_00

That was everybody but America.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, anyway, they I could not figure out the leaders portion of it, but that wasn't even the issue. Like, I could not figure out how this machine worked. I was flipping switches, I was scanning my card at least five times. I had to walk into the gas station, talk to these poor women behind the counter, and they essentially just were like, How do you not know how to use a pump? So I'm there struggling, all while Abby, Amanda, and Harrison are off in the gas station buying collabs.

SPEAKER_00

So I didn't actually go into the gas station to buy collabs. I just sat in the car and watched you struggle. You see, I was like, I was there, I was there for moral support only.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah, I thought you had actually gone into the gas station one day.

SPEAKER_00

No, I think because we weren't that far into the drive and we had just like eaten something, so I wasn't like hungry or anything, and I had water, so I didn't want anything.

SPEAKER_01

So you lit legitimately just kept on watching me struggle and not help me at all.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Great. They're all five.

SPEAKER_00

I was like, he got it. Like it's fine.

SPEAKER_01

At least Harrison and Amanda brought me back a freaking collab.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that's when you guys became obsessed, and then you would buy like you would buy like three each every time we stopped anywhere.

SPEAKER_01

We were very hydrated.

SPEAKER_00

You were very hydrated, but you also had to go to the bathroom like every five seconds.

SPEAKER_01

But we'll get into that scenario later in the episodes. But also, like the collabs have like caffeine in them, so I love that. We needed to stay caffeinated.

SPEAKER_00

Which uh maybe that was the issue why you guys were just like crazy all the time and like started getting on my nerves because you were also caffeinated.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we were definitely over our CDC recommended 400 milligrams of caffeine per day. So I can see why you would definitely get annoyed with us. But anyway, we finally get back into the car, we start driving, we get to the trailhead, and we get on the hike, and we're about three miles in. And I think this is when you guys actually started realizing that this hike is gonna be a little bit longer than what you expected, especially the hungover people.

SPEAKER_00

Look, I was down to do a long hike as long as there was lava at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Which that was the promise. I promise you that's what I was going for. But I think this is when Abby decided to stop some people on the trail itself.

SPEAKER_00

I wasn't willing to go the whole 14 miles if there wasn't lava at the end. So we stopped them. We were just like, hey, is there lava at the end?

SPEAKER_01

And they were very confident.

SPEAKER_00

They were very confident and super energetic. They were like, Yeah, yeah, there's lava.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it was just like, oh, thank God.

SPEAKER_00

We're not wasting our lives. Live straight to our face. Straight to our face. There was no lava.

SPEAKER_01

Which sucks because it was like another two miles to get to the end.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, which luckily the hike was shorter than 14 miles. Yeah, we focus. It was it was 14 kilometers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I had gotten it wrong. I said that it was 14 miles, but it was 14 kilometers. So that actually was a good thing. We get to the sign and they're like, You're a dumbass brand.

SPEAKER_00

Well, we get to the end thinking we still have to keep going, and it was like over, like, or to the point where you turn around.

SPEAKER_01

I was so disappointed because like I walk up and it's just black tar looking.

SPEAKER_00

No lava to be found, just yeah, just black. Still cool, but not lava.

SPEAKER_01

At this point, the hunger people are not having it anymore.

SPEAKER_00

We're gonna, so we decided to pull out our ham sandwiches at Geral Mix.

SPEAKER_01

It was the saddest lunch when we were thinking it was burritos that we're gonna do.

SPEAKER_00

It was like squished. Yeah, I had no intention of eating this sandwich. I was like, no, there's gonna be burritos up there. It's fine. I don't even care if this sandwich sucks because I'm not gonna eat it. I'm gonna eat the burrito. Oh surprise, surprise. The burrito man wasn't there because there wasn't any lava. Yeah, it's okay. We still ate our sandwiches.

SPEAKER_01

We did not stay long.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we just kind of turned around and went back.

SPEAKER_01

But this is when we discovered that Harrison and Amanda, they walk like fucking psychopaths.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I think I walk pretty fast, but they they were walking. They were like, honestly, like it was a slight jog almost.

SPEAKER_01

It reminds me of those people that walk in the mall. Have you ever seen mall walkers?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like speed walkers.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like it was their exercise for the day.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so they finished the hike like 30 minutes before the rest of us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, they were just sitting at the car waiting on us, and it was just like you did not have to walk that fast.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, not necessary.

unknown

Oh god.

SPEAKER_01

But then we can back into the car.

SPEAKER_00

I'm getting hangry at this point. The ham sandwich did not do it.

SPEAKER_01

And the hungover people are not having it either. But somebody had the greatest idea to turn on sexy bread pound town. This is where Eppie's at it.

SPEAKER_00

Eppie is done. She's like, I'm hangry. We're buying this awful song.

SPEAKER_01

We did literally just do like an eight to nine mile hike. I think that's right. Right.

SPEAKER_00

Eight like eight point six or something miles.

SPEAKER_01

Everybody is pissed. But we decided to head to this little town near Blue Lagoon because later that day we had scheduled our Blue Lagoon visit, and I can't remember the name of it. Do you know the name?

SPEAKER_00

Of the town.

SPEAKER_01

Grendovic. Grendivic, thank you. What was the restaurant's name?

SPEAKER_00

Cafe Burg Brigani? Brigati? I don't know. I can't pronounce it. So sorry, everyone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, she was about to make me pronounce it. And like I've been pronouncing things wrong every single episode, so I made her do it this time. But we looked this place up and it looked so good.

SPEAKER_00

It has good reviews.

SPEAKER_01

And it smelled so good walking into it.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But we get upstairs, we sit down, and we're like, ooh, wow, a soup.

SPEAKER_00

They had soup on the menu, and it was like hearty soup. It's like potato soup.

SPEAKER_01

And like vegetable soup. And it was like unlimited too. Like you can have as much as you want. And it was like, fuck yes, we need to do this. Yes, I want soup. I think it was Harrison and Amanda that didn't order the soup.

SPEAKER_00

They didn't order soup. They got like other entrees. And their entrees came out at a reasonable time.

SPEAKER_01

Well, about 15 minutes. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

We're sitting there for another like 40, 45 minutes waiting for our soup. And it's soup. It's pre-made. I was like, why is this taking so long? They literally just have to label it into a bowl.

SPEAKER_01

Which, granted, we're used to like being in European countries where it takes longer to eat. Yeah, yeah. So we were like, we don't want to be Americans.

SPEAKER_00

God be patient, but I was already hangry.

SPEAKER_01

I was getting frustrated too. I was like, I'm fucking hungry and I'm tired of you people.

SPEAKER_00

So finally, did you go up and ask?

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I went up to the bar because we hadn't seen our server in like 30 minutes either. And it was just like, what the hell is going on? Yeah. So I go up to the bar and I'm like, hey, not trying to be rude, but like, where's our soup? And they literally looked me in the eye and was like, it's a bar and it's at the front. You go and serve yourself. And I literally almost throw a punch that bitch.

SPEAKER_00

It was self-served soup, but they didn't tell us it was.

SPEAKER_01

It did not tell us.

SPEAKER_00

And it wasn't, we were sitting outside and the soup was inside. And so we didn't see it. Like we had no idea it was in there. Our waiter didn't tell us. Couldn't have given us a heads up. Didn't yeah, didn't notice us sitting there for 40 minutes while our other friends were eating.

SPEAKER_01

Um don't worry, we got them back.

SPEAKER_00

I probably ate a whole I think we ate like a whole pot of soup that they had out.

SPEAKER_01

Between all of us, yes, 100%. And I know all of the bread. Me and Sky had at least two loaves of bread each. And I think you had like one half envelope.

SPEAKER_00

I think so.

SPEAKER_01

It was we destroyed their body.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it was very good. I just wish we didn't sit there for 40 minutes waiting for them to tell us it was self-serve soup.

SPEAKER_01

So pro tip for you guys.

SPEAKER_00

It's self-serve. It's self-serve soup.

SPEAKER_01

If you go to Grindavik and you go to this restaurant, self-service soup.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Now you know, don't do what we do.

SPEAKER_00

So then we get back in the car, and so this is where it becomes a theme where every time we get in the car, we have to play poundtown.

SPEAKER_01

Moody Hole Brown.

SPEAKER_00

No. I don't like this song. Well, I think you were okay with it at all. I was okay with it the first time. Like, okay, haha, this is a ridiculous song, but like, okay. Every single time we get in the car, I was contemplating murdering you guys. I didn't know it was that before.

SPEAKER_01

Should our theme song at the beginning of every podcast episode be Pound? I will quit. Out here in Miami. No. No. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

But so now we're in the car. Listen to Pound Town already. On the way to Blue Lagoon.

SPEAKER_01

I think I'll repeat on this point because we were just obsessed with it. It was really funny making you annoyed.

SPEAKER_00

So funny. Okay. Blue Lagoon.

SPEAKER_01

Blue Lagoon. Which Blue Lagoon is like a staple in Iceland. A lot of people know about Blue Lagoon. It's the geothermal spa. Yeah. I think. Um, do you remember the history behind it? I know we had story time there.

SPEAKER_00

Um so it was a man-made lagoon. I think it was made by accident because of the runoff from a geothermal power plant. And then they discovered that there was like silica or something in the water and had like healing properties, and then it gained like popularity, and people would go there for to like just for pleasure to like find relief for different ailments.

SPEAKER_01

It's actually kind of crazy that it's runoff from a geothermal power plant. Yeah. And it's like neon blue water, and people are just like, Yeah, we're gonna get into it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's I was like, I that wouldn't have been me. I would have been like, let's go test that out. Like but somebody did, and I guess it's safe. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Just like if you guys look up the pictures, it's kind of crazy. You don't think it's gonna be that blue, but it is that blue. Yeah. And it's wild looking. So we go in there and we get into our changing rooms, like, and I was expecting like my own like little shower or like stall or something of that nature. No, it was just like a straight up room with all these men just straight up naked. And this is the first time I've ever experienced that. But at the same time, this was the first time I saw Harrison's ass, and I was like, oh, look at that, we're bonding. So cute. Sorry, Caroline. That's his wife. But did you guys have the same experience?

SPEAKER_00

No, we ours wasn't like open. Like we walked in, we got like a locker and we're like getting our stuff ready. And then we went into each of ours was like a stall, like it was almost like a bathroom. You had stalls. It was like a bathroom stall almost, but there was no toilet, it was just like a shower, and then you just like did your thing really quick and then you got out. Nice, but it wasn't just like an open room. Okay, well, mine was an open room.

SPEAKER_01

Although why they didn't do whatever, it doesn't matter. Pro tip for you guys: do not put your hair in the blue lagoon water. Yeah, because of the high minerals like silica and sulfur that are in the water, it could actually make your hair very dry, stiff, and brittle. So I think you guys had conditioner as well. We had conditioner too.

SPEAKER_00

The the conditioner is supposed to help like protect, like give your hair like a layer to protect it from like the blue lagoon water. I would just not put it in at all. Like, I don't think I didn't put the um conditioner in my hair because I would just put my hair up and I was like, I'm not putting it in the water because new going in. So none of us had this hair issue.

SPEAKER_01

But just don't do it because we've seen videos and it was horrific.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it's like yeah, hard to brush your hair and stuff.

SPEAKER_01

That would have been terrible.

SPEAKER_00

But we got the package where we got all three face masks. Do you remember what they were?

SPEAKER_01

I think there was one that was like a silica mud mask, and then there was a green one that was an algae mask, and then one that looked more like clay, and I think that was supposed to be the lava scrub mask.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. I liked them. That was fun. I liked them. Um, the only issue I had is so my nose was still like kind of raw from being sick and like blowing my nose. So the mask like really stung my nose, and then like the water also stung it, but still worth it. I would do masks again.

SPEAKER_01

You know, that's actually a really good point because we were hiking too. You probably got a little bit of a sunburn.

SPEAKER_00

Uh, I mean, it wasn't that sunny. I would think more like wind burn than sunburn. If you got burned, be careful putting the masks on. Well, the masks were fine. It was mostly just washing them off with the water because there was no like fresh water to like wash your face off. You were just washing it off with like the blue lagoon water, which yeah. But um, those masks were really nice.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but overall, like Blue Lagoon was pretty calm. Like it was beautiful, it was amazing. It felt so good.

SPEAKER_00

And they also had drinks. We had a little drink package thing so you could you know get some wine.

SPEAKER_01

Which you guys found out and really be careful with that because like you guys were getting a little tipsy up in that water. I like wine. Well, it was because it was hot. The water is hot, so be careful when you're it's like you're in a hot tub, essentially. So like you're gonna get drunk quicker than you would being outside the water. So if you're in the water and you're drinking, be careful. Which I think they capped the capped the amount of drinks you have.

SPEAKER_00

No, you could only have like three, I think.

SPEAKER_01

Because I think they've had experiences where people got really twisted in the blue lagoon. Yeah. Do you uh what else was there? There uh there was a They had story time. The story time is where we learned a history, and it was actually really fun.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they just like kind of called over. I I think the guy was like kind of dressed up in a thing too, and he was like, everyone gather. We're gonna we're gonna tell you a story. And everybody just kind of like, you know, waddled over waddled over, was just like, okay. With our face mask on, drinking our wine, like, yes, story time.

SPEAKER_01

It was like we were back in kindergare.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like, please tell us story. It was a fun story, you know. Learned a lot. We did, we didn't do it justice. He definitely did a lot better job than us.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, yeah. Well, you have to go to Blue Lagoon to hear story time. That's right. We're not gonna ruin the experience for you.

SPEAKER_01

There was also like a sauna, like uh, a steam room and a sauna, if I remember correctly.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It was a whole experience, you guys. You kind of have to have to go there.

SPEAKER_00

And then we also got a little cheese thing.

SPEAKER_01

We got two because we were so we were so hungry.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't even like it was nothing spectacular. It was just like a box of cheese, but it was amazing.

SPEAKER_01

Which is kind of crazy because me and Sky literally ate two loaves of bread and to combine, we had destroyed like a whole pot of soup. Yeah, but cheese, there's always room for cheese. There's always room for cheese. It was not spectacular, but it did the trick.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. That kind of ended like our blue lagoon time, and then we just kind of got out, showered again.

SPEAKER_01

Showered again, got back in the car, pound town, round three.

SPEAKER_00

Hate everything.

SPEAKER_01

That was literally the theme song for this whole entire trip.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

We didn't do much after Blue Lagoon, if I remember correctly. I think we we may have driven around Grindavik a little bit and we saw horses.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah, we saw horses. Um, they were just like out taking pictures with them.

SPEAKER_01

So we should like farm. Which actual side note, like Icelandic horses are native to Iceland and you won't find them anywhere unless you like spend a shit ton of money to like export one. But they don't allow other horses into the country, I don't think. It's just literally that.

SPEAKER_00

They don't want them to like crossbreed, I don't think.

SPEAKER_01

It's that breed, and that's it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But they're beautiful, they're cute. We'll have to post some pics about uh with us taking pictures with these horses. They could just walk up to us. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Say hi. They were excited. And so now I don't even think we ate dinner. We immediately got back to our Airbnb, and there was a bar right across the street from our Airbnb. Like, and it was called Micro Bar.

SPEAKER_01

And it's like 10 o'clock at night at this point.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And we walk into this bar and they're actually about to be closing.

SPEAKER_00

And we're like, just one, just one drink, just one, it'll be quick, and then we'll leave.

SPEAKER_01

We were we had full intentions. Full intentions.

SPEAKER_00

That was the plan.

SPEAKER_01

Literally just going in, having one drink, and walking back across the street to our Airbnb and actually getting some sleep that night. That did not occur.

SPEAKER_00

No, he like we had our one drink, and the bar, the bartender, and his girlfriend was like talking to us, and they're like, you know what? We like you. We like you. Here's a shot. We're gonna go close down, we're gonna lock the door, and you guys can stay. We just think you'd back. Like, sounds kind of murdery. They like locked us into the bar.

SPEAKER_01

We really put ourselves in a lot of situations where we could be murdered.

SPEAKER_00

But he was they were cool, like, yeah, they gave us some free drinks, and we just we're sitting there.

SPEAKER_01

Not just free drinks. They gave us like half a bottle of liquor, which that was the first time that we tried the Icelandic lunch.

SPEAKER_00

This was, yeah, I drank too much this night. I mean, but it was free. So it was free.

SPEAKER_01

So who gives a shit? Like, we were just having a great time. Some of the conversations we were having were a little strange.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it got to the point. So you were talking to the guy at like your end of like I was like in the middle of the bar, and then I had Skye and the girlfriend on one side, and then you on the other. And then Harrison and Amanda like ended up leaving. Like they were there for a little while, but then they left to go get food. So you were having a conversation, and I was in the girl conversation for a while. We were we were having you know some great combo. We were talking about Brexit. We were talking about how like she came to Iceland and because she was originally from the UK, you know, everything's going great. And then like I turned to you for like a second. I turn back around and they're making out. I'm solid because I think I looked over. Yeah, it was just like the transition. I guess I'm out of the conversation. Like, full stop. Brexit make out. And I was like, okay, well, I'm just gonna sit here. And then I wasn't really in your conversation either. So I was just like sitting there, like, I don't see that we know what we were talking about.

SPEAKER_01

I think he was talking about how he had some wild experience in the kitchen, had a food fight, and then we were talking about some really deep stuff. And that was just like I met you like five minutes ago, but okay, this was just Continue this conversation. And then, yes, I look over and I saw Skye making up with his girlfriend. And then I kind of kind of came to the conclusion that I was thinking that he was trying to pick us up. Like me and Sky, because this is not the first situation that I've been in with Sky where like we've almost been picked up at a bar without us knowing that we're being picked up, which would explain the free drinks.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it makes it all makes sense now.

SPEAKER_01

It definitely makes sense. And you were just like in the middle, big like, what the fuck is that happening?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was like, should I leave?

SPEAKER_01

Like, well, thank God you didn't because I needed supervision, apparently. But I will say this, Sky did get to make one of the little signs, one of the beer signs.

SPEAKER_00

So they had like one of those, like, I guess it's like a chalkboard where they like draw pictures for the beer that's on tap. Um, and they were changing out one of them, and they let Sky draw like the name of the new beer that was going on tap.

SPEAKER_01

So it's there, hopefully.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's not there. It changes like every other week.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. Three years later, probably not there. It's definitely not there.

SPEAKER_00

But yeah, so you know, after that, we didn't get fully locked in the bar. We did leave eventually. We did.

SPEAKER_01

Well, what happened is because they got Harrison and um Amanda have gone to get donors and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_00

Don't get it but we like fully told them where we were staying too. We were like, yeah, you see that Airbnb right across the street, that window specifically.

SPEAKER_01

The one that was open.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I was like, that's where we're staying. I was like, why did we tell them that? Like, easily murdered.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, you know what? Going back to the whole, oh, we brought strangers back to the Airbnb. You're an accomplice to that now. You're a part of the branding because you would definitely do that too.

SPEAKER_00

No, I wouldn't. I would not have allowed them back to our Airbnb. I mean, not willingly.

SPEAKER_01

We did show them how to get into our Airbnb.

SPEAKER_00

We didn't tell them how to get in. We just showed them which building it was and what specific unit it was, but not the key.

SPEAKER_01

And which open window it was.

SPEAKER_00

It was on the second floor. They couldn't have gotten up there. But yeah, so they knew that, but then we left and we did not get murdered. So that's great.

SPEAKER_01

Harrison and Amanda came and got us and was like, hey, we're gonna go to the city.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they were like, we have food. We're gonna go back to the Airbnb. I was like, yes, please. I was not in either conversation at this point. I was like, I want to get out of here.

SPEAKER_01

And I wasn't ready to get out of there too. So we finally leave after taking another shot, which by the way, the name of the alcohol that we were taking shots of, it's called, I'm gonna mess this up, but Brennan, Brinovin. And it's like uh Icelandic liquor, and it was delicious. You have to admit, that was really good.

SPEAKER_00

It it tasted like alcohol. It tasted like a shot. I thought it was smooth.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, anyway, we got another like fourth shot at this point, and then we get back up to the airbag.

SPEAKER_00

And then we go back up to the Airbnb, and um Harrison and Amanda brought us food, and I asked Brandon very nicely, I pointed to the cabinet where the plates were. I was like, can you get me a plate, please? I did not know where the plates were. They were I don't even think the cabinet was closed. I think it was just open.

SPEAKER_01

I thought we had pretty much used all the plates. I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I was definitely drawing there for like a day and we never ate in there.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, well, Brandon does not bring me a plate, he brings me a strainer.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, okay, because I was rummaging around and it was like she's definitely hungry, obviously. So let me just find the most usable thing. And I thought it was a bowl at first, but then I was like, this is a weird bowl with a handle.

SPEAKER_00

It was a strainer, so I ate my donor out of a strainer.

SPEAKER_01

Straight up a strainer. Yeah, mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah.

SPEAKER_01

What a full day. My god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but now um next next day will be my turn to become over.

SPEAKER_01

And thank God, we were actually leaving Reykjavik at this point, so we're not going back to micro bar. We don't have to see those people again. Yeah, which they were nice, but they were definitely nice.

SPEAKER_00

If I ever went back to Iceland, I would do a stop by. I they probably don't still work there, but like I would stop by.

SPEAKER_01

Definitely.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, it was a good bar. Gala free drinks there. But yeah, this was the end of our second day of Iceland. Very eventful. Um, and then tomorrow will be day three, and we'll be hungover once again.

SPEAKER_01

Except for this time, me and Abby will be all. I was actually very hungover that I was quite hungover. I had to drive y'all's asses. Yeah, passenger princess. Oh god. Oh, side note though, the hike tomorrow that we're gonna discuss, I actually got from somebody at Blue Lagoon. Like, I was talking, like you guys had walked off. Oh, yeah, and I was talking to this random like cashier lady, and she's like, You gotta do this hike. So this was an additive to this is an added hike. This was an added hike.

SPEAKER_00

It wasn't even on the itinerary.

SPEAKER_01

You all enjoyed a lot more except for Amanda, but we'll get into that tomorrow.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, but thank you. Yeah, thank you. As always, stay chaotic, stay chaotic, lovins, lovins.
