On this episode I will be telling you the true story of Easter.
Hi, I'm Olive, a young girl with a big heart to share God's love and truth through a family-friendly podcast for listeners of all ages. My hope is that as I grow in loving God and my neighbors, that you'll be inspired to do the same. So let's get started. Hey guys, welcome back to Loving Neighbor. I'm your host Olive, and today I'll be doing something a little different. It's Easter week. So I thought I would tell you guys the true story of Easter. So let's get started. In the beginning, God created the world and everything. He made it good. He made people to have a relationship with him. But people chose to sin, which means disobeying God. Sin separates us from God. The Bible says, for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. Romans 3 23. That means we all need forgiveness. Because God loves us so much, he sent his son Jesus Christ. Jesus lived a perfect life. He taught people to love, help the sick, and showed kindness to everyone. One night Jesus had a special meal with his disciples. This was called the Last Supper. He broke bread and shared it, telling them to remember him. Then Jesus did something amazing. He washed his disciples' feet. This was a servant's shock, so the disciples were a little confused. When it came to Peter, a disciple of Jesus' turn, Peter said, No, you shall never wash my feet. But Jesus answered, If you do not if I do not wash you, you have no part with me. John 13 8. Then Peter said, Then not just my feet, but my hands and my head too. Jesus was teaching them something important. He said that he came to serve others. The Bible tells us the Son of Man did not come to serve but to be served but to serve. Mark 10 45. This shows Jesus' heart full of love, humility, and service. Later that night, soldiers came to arrest Jesus. One of his followers tried to stop them and cut off this man's ear. But Jesus healed the man's ear right away. Even in that moment, Jesus chose peace and kindness. Jesus was taken away, treated unfairly, and was nailed to a cross. He had done nothing wrong, but he chose to take the punishment for our sins. While on the cross he said, Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. Luke 23, verse 34. Then even he showed love. The Bible says, while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5.8. Jesus took our place so we could be forgiven. And for God so loved the world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3 16. That is how much God loves us. Three days later, Jesus rose from the dead. This shows he has power over sin and death. Because of Jesus, we can be forgiven. We can be close to God and we can have hope in a new life. So I'm gonna pray. Dear God, thank you for loving us so much. Thank you for sending Jesus to save us and forgive our sins. Help us to follow you, love others, and serve like Jesus did. Please guide us every day. In Jesus' name, amen. Well, thank you guys so much for listening to love your neighbor and remember even if you think you've done too much wrong or had too much sin, God will still forgive you and He's waiting for you with open arms. Bye. Thanks.
