SPEAKER_00

Hey everyone, welcome back to Don't Mess with Texas. I am late as fuck today, per usual, but 27 minutes late. But you know what? We're here, and I will karmically make up for being late. And I know I will. So sorry, Sebastian, but you guys are right on time. Yeah. Um, grab a glass of wine, grab a soda, a pop, whatever you want, and get your popcorn, and we're just gonna have fun today.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know how long we'll go for, but yeah, no, because I literally have a negotiation after this, and I'm looking like this in my von Dutch. Like literally, I don't even have my backpack. We're running a little bit late. Your papers got Yeah, literally walking to class today. It is the windiest day in all of fucking history of Denver. I feel like March is always pretty windy here. But um I was walking to class, the fucking I don't have a folder or anything smart like you would bring for school, and my papers blew out of my bag and fell into a puddle. So I'm just like putting on a really brave face today and um being toxic positive. Yeah. And we're gonna have a good one. We're gonna have a good episode.

SPEAKER_01

Yep.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. Okay, so first order of things.

SPEAKER_01

So you want to talk about last night since that was the most recent thing.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so I went to Zara Larson. I don't know if people can see. Can they see my clip?

SPEAKER_01

Uh like that way, yeah. Like the way you're looking right now.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, period. I couldn't find Zara Larson in your Apple music library.

SPEAKER_01

No, you can ask me to play a radio station.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, big brother. Pop off. Um, yeah, I saw Zara Larson last night. I completed my dad's biggest dream. Um, he is the OG Zara Larson stan. Like he was before, he was before all the pop girlies got on. So basically.

SPEAKER_01

How did he know about Zara Larson?

SPEAKER_00

I literally have no idea, but like when this was, I'm not kidding, like 2023. Um probably I don't know, probably before even summer. I don't know, early 2023. I was like taking out my extensions for the first time in like years, because I always had really long extensions. And I was so just like self-conscious and like freaked out. Cause like it is freaky when you have like your dream hair and then it's just like gone, and then you're like, oh fuck, like I'm left with my ratty growl's hair I don't like. And my dad was like, Oh my, you look so much better. You like Zara Larson, like her hair is. And I'm just like, how do you even know who Zara Larson was? Because at the time it was like Zara Larson was just like, Yeah, she had a couple hit songs from 2016, literally.

SPEAKER_01

Wait, what when did she or when did he say that?

SPEAKER_00

Probably like summer or like early 2023. Okay. When I took my extensions out. And he was like, Zara Larson looks way better with like short hair. Like, I think you look better with short hair. And then I was like, uh stunned. I'm just like, what? And then like we have these conversations of like just randomly, and like it's such a weird dichotomy because my dad is very like he's very like masculine, conservative, you know, just like whatever dad vibes. But then like maybe it's just a girl dad thing, but he's just like uh it's maybe it's like when a straight guy is like, I love this Taylor Swift song or something. Like that, I maybe it's those vibes. Yeah, literally, or their femininity, I guess. But like my dad is like not like that. So it's very just like, what are you talking about? And like, um, we'll get in these like our literal arguments where he's like, Dua Leap is the best performer of all time. And I'm just like, I don't I f first of all, I don't like Dua Lipa, and then I'm gonna say that, and then she's gonna like fucking like pop off and be like huge in 10 years. He's always ahead of the time. It was the same thing with like literally Taylor Swift, like, not that obviously Taylor Swift was like one of the best pop girlies, but when she was kind of like hidden, like she wasn't in public, like literally he was like, she's like the best performer of all time. Like she's huge, like best artist in the world. And I'm just like, this is when she was like wasn't cool, like not mainstream, but just like kind of like oh, she had her moment, whatever. And then like Aerostour, like next couple years, and same thing with Birkinstocks. He would wear Birkenstocks dropping me off in kindergarten, and this was not when they were cool.

SPEAKER_01

My mom used to do that.

SPEAKER_00

And then I would be like, Stop wearing those fucking Birkinstocks, and he was like, they're cool, they're good. And then like same thing with like I don't know what they're called, but not the like toe ones, like they're covered. They're like kind of like loafers vibes.

SPEAKER_01

Where it's like toe shoes.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, no, no, not toe shoes. They're still Birkin stocks. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

It's like a type of moccasin?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're like the moccasins. He would wear those because he has like, I think he's a size 16 or 14. Oh wait.

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

No, but like, you know what I mean. I know what you mean. Yeah. Um, so he would wear those when like the sandal Birgen socks were, I mean, they're still like huge, but these? Yeah, literally those. He had like an all-white pair, and then I was like so embarrassed. I was like, those are so ugly, and then they became so popular. So whatever. But anyway, my dad is like the biggest Zara Larson fan. Like, we'll literally call and talk about, yeah, like that. Um, we'll literally call and talk about her. And my dad accidentally was like reposting shit on TikTok, and it was like he didn't know he was doing it. It was like Zara Larson, and like sh he loves Shakira too.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Of course, who doesn't? But it it was just so funny. So yeah, Zara Larson was fun. Everyone was dressed so cute.

SPEAKER_01

I know. You were I I liked your outfit.

SPEAKER_00

Thank you. I was like, I kind of because okay, I bought a different outfit, but I didn't even know if I was gonna go.

SPEAKER_01

Cause like no one screenshot it and posted it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, oh, thank you. No one like really not that no one wanted to go, but it was kind of like it's on a Wednesday. Like the tickets at the time were really expensive because it was at Summit. Um, and then she moved to Fillmore because I think it it was just I don't know why.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But I think Fillmore is bigger than Summit. My suspicion is like tickets were so expensive that they had to move to a bigger venue or something.

SPEAKER_01

So they moved to the filmmore?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Oh wow, that's like a couple to me. Oh, yeah, yeah. Literally next to Charlie's. Because I was like, every time I go to the filmmore, I think everything's in a different area than it is. Yeah. And I was like, wait, there's expert and there's Charlie's right there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like right across the street.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, you're in the prime place. I know.

SPEAKER_01

That's why it's gonna be fun for my birthday weekend.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, yes, that is gonna be lit. Do you want to talk about your birthday a little or no?

SPEAKER_01

We can a little. I mean, I don't have a lot planned, like at all. Just like that I want to have people over and then go out. I kind of want to get a birthday cake, but I'm like, that's so much money. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Well, if you go to like Costco or Sam's, I mean, if you want like a big one, but even the Walmart ones are super cute and affordable.

SPEAKER_01

I'll show you what I want because I have like a design I want.

SPEAKER_00

So Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

That's what makes it a little bit more expensive.

SPEAKER_00

Um But uh, did you see my Valentine's Day cake? Do you remember it? Oh, that's so cute.

SPEAKER_01

Like just something goofy like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that's so cute. And to take pictures with. Yes. That would be adorable. Yeah, are you gonna get like a sash or anything?

SPEAKER_01

Maybe. I don't know. Maybe I'll get that for you. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um, I have your gift. Well, I like bought it, but it's like coming.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

I'm so excited for that. It's like uh whatever I hope you like it. I it's either hit or miss. Like you're gonna like it no matter what, but we'll see. Yeah, but um, I'm excited for your birthday. Everyone's fucking birthday is.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say that brings us to the next topic I wanted to talk about. How March is just so fucking busy.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, yeah. I literally have been slam, I've had no downtime at all.

SPEAKER_01

I don't know why it's this month. That's just I know.

SPEAKER_00

It hasn't felt like this before, I feel like.

SPEAKER_01

And maybe because I'm like using a calendar more, but when I see it all laid out, I'm like Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I I low key, I have to get an outfit for St. Paddy's.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I know. I need to.

SPEAKER_00

Because I'm like, is that what we're celebrating this weekend, like St. Patrick's Day? I think.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, we could like, yeah, because Well, because I wanted to do a beer crawl.

SPEAKER_00

I had like a couple people text me.

SPEAKER_01

My friend Ella wanted to do a beer crawl on St. Paddy's Day, and I'm like, girl, I'm in school.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I'm you're like, you were like no, and then I'm like, I'm down. No, I I said yes, but I'm like I think I work literally the next day at 6 30 in the morning.

SPEAKER_01

So I'm like gonna try and get that treated, but I have my Wednesday class earlier that next day.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm like I like hope I don't work Wednesday. I know I will. I've been working like every Wednesday. Speaking of that, like yesterday, um my rings literally like oh, I okay. Chew Gie alert called me. I wear my Apple Watch like sometimes when I'm like I wear it every time I'm working because I can see my text like on my phone, like I might not respond.

SPEAKER_01

But your steps in the case.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I like I want to see how much I'm like tracking. First of all, I need the time when I'm working, um, because I'm never on my phone. But like it just being a server, like it's a right of passage to have an Apple Watch. But uh oh. Just family tea. Uh-oh. Uh yeah, that's the tea. But so I got this like gold band. I don't know if y'all can see. Um, I still I got a gold case for it, but I shipped it to my dad's and it has the diamonds around it. So hopefully it'll make it a little less chugs.

SPEAKER_01

I like it though.

SPEAKER_00

I I do too, because it's just like it kind of look blends in.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But it just like my other watch that I normally wear.

SPEAKER_01

The only like faux pas is the silver and I know, so that's why I got that gold cover.

SPEAKER_00

Because you would think it fucking comes with a case, like because it showed a gold case on it. No, it just came with the fucking chain, so I had to order it separate. But what I'm glad because it has diamonds. Like I wore this one watch all the time from Alex and Alex and Ani from Altered State, and it was just fucking broken and whatever it was on sale. But yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I know I have that Garmin watch. I wal I try and wear it all the time, but it's just difficult because I like forget it, and then like sometimes I get down on myself when I see my like body score, like energy score, and it's like lower than what I think I'm at. Like I think I have a good night's sleep, and then I look at the like body score, and it's like, oh, your today's score is like starting at 66. And I'm like, Oh, yeah, and then I just like it off, and then I'm like, Yeah. But I need to get in the habit of just wearing it more.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I like mine because first of all, my like move rings are pr very like obtainable. Like, I feel like I only have like 20 minutes of like actual like exercise on a move ring, and then like I don't even know how many steps. But yesterday, I don't think it can pull. I'm not very good at like working it.

SPEAKER_01

It'll be on your phone if you look in your head up on your phone.

SPEAKER_00

On activity, but yesterday at work, just fucking work. I mean and Lauren, shout out my coworker. We walked six and a half miles.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and that was from 6 30 a.m. to like 2 15-ish.

SPEAKER_01

That is insane.

SPEAKER_00

I know. Like I really don't realize how much I walk serving, and sometimes I'll even do seven. Because I'm literally just like walking, walking, walking. Let's see how many miles. And I didn't work out yesterday. Let's see. Um, but yeah, I'm kind of just using it for that. Wait.

SPEAKER_01

Summary. I know I have like really minimal goals as well on the thing. Um, it's like 10,000 is like what I try and do daily, and that's super easy to do if I can like walk in the park in the morning.

SPEAKER_00

That was just like at fucking work plus the concert.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Hers was 16,000 steps.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, that is like crazy work. Um, but yeah, fun, fun, fun, fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but oh, okay, back to Zara Larson really quick. Everyone looked so good, and everyone like showed out, and like the girl who got on stage was she was a little girl. I saw it, right? Yeah, she was so cute. And like, I guess I don't know if it's showed this on the TikToks, but like she was in like the um, they did like they could do like ask questions at soundcheck. And she was like, Can I be the girl who goes on stage with you? And then she Zara was like, if you keep your energy up, like I'll think about it the whole time. And she knew like every song because she was so good. Like I was like, you're like a professional fucking dancer. And Zara Larson, oh, she made me want to put my extensions in. Literally, her hair is like down to her ass, and like at least with me and my extensions, like I'm not very mobile with them. Like, you can't you can like go like this with your hair, but whipping it and like hairography is so hard.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, that is. I don't know if like that's it's so long.

SPEAKER_00

It's giving like the Miley Cyrus like last season extensions that Trish Cyrus was like, we need more extensions in her hair. Like, uh just she is such a good dancer. She was dancing the whole fucking time, and I'm like, how are you literally able to sing like this? It like she is such a good singer, she was dancing the whole time, and it was like hard choreography.

SPEAKER_01

Like the breath control must just be in.

SPEAKER_00

Literally, and then like when she was doing Midnight Sun, they like pick her up and she's like Oh my god. Uh it's literally crazy. Like she her legs are in the air, she's like a mermaid, basically, and like singing like super high notes.

SPEAKER_01

Especially at like altitude. Yeah. When you're not from here and it's like Well, she even said that.

SPEAKER_00

She was like, everyone says it's hard to perform in Denver, but I'm having a good time.

SPEAKER_01

Did you see Cardi B? Yeah. You literally had to get like oxygen.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I feel like a lot of them do. Even like um athletes, like when they come here, they have to get oxygen, and we don't think about it because we're from here, but a lot of uh I went to a Kodak Black concert.

SPEAKER_01

What do you mean? I think almost 10 years ago or like eight years ago.

SPEAKER_00

He got too high and only performed like three songs, and that was it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god. He came out late and then stopped early, and I was like.

SPEAKER_00

Did he play patty cake?

SPEAKER_01

I don't remember. I was like literally like he went with my brother and uh and like two of my friends.

SPEAKER_00

I love Koda Black. Oh yeah, a lot of people get too high. Yeah. Like I think Nick something, he's like a comedian. He like talked about like he like took too many edibles, like, and he like literally just like not greened out, like threw up, but just got way too high on a set and was just like it was so embarrassing. And everyone was talking about it. You do, and drinking, like if you're not from here, because you get drunk quicker, higher altitude, like yeah, it's crazy. Um, but she was like, Yeah, this is fun. Like, she's such a good performer. And she was saying, I was like shocked. She was like, This is the biggest US show I've played.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. And I'm like, wow, that's at the film. That's crazy. What's the capac? Let me look. I think I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Because I think the film on like small venue, it is one of those. But it's bigger than Red Rock's.

SPEAKER_01

Um I think. 3,000 to 3,700. Wait, so what's Red Rock?

SPEAKER_00

Or maybe it was Fiddlers.

SPEAKER_01

Red Rock's capacity is 9,000. Oh no, I don't know. So maybe it was Fiddlers.

SPEAKER_00

It's crazy.

SPEAKER_01

18,000. Wait, what?

SPEAKER_00

I know, because someone was like, um playing Fiddlers is bigger than Red Rocks, and I'm like, what are you talking about? Maybe they say 18,000 because they squish everyone in the fucking grass.

SPEAKER_01

But I think like Red Rocks is more of like a monumental thing to like perform at Red Rocks because it's like it's an experience for the concert goers, and it's just such like a uh like a it's iconic. Iconic landmark to like perform at. Yeah. Okay. So many iconic Red Rocks performances. I know.

SPEAKER_00

What if Zora was there?

SPEAKER_01

That'd be crazy.

SPEAKER_00

I know.

SPEAKER_01

Iconic Red The Beatles The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, The Grateful Dead. Yeah. U2. That's the big one. 1983 under a lot of people.

SPEAKER_00

Why does everyone like U2?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

I don't like them because of like um the album on the iPhone that we were subjected and listening to. Literally. I'm not sure.

SPEAKER_01

Jimmy Nick performed at Red Rocks in '86.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I bet. And like John Denver, like it okay, that's it's just like kind of like you hit it.

SPEAKER_01

Can I do a promo really quickly? Because I just saw 1986. Yeah. So I've been working partially on this film that is coming out on March 28th. We're having the screening at Truss House over in Rhino.

SPEAKER_00

Oh cute.

SPEAKER_01

Um, 1986. It's an homage to Paris is Burning, which is like a documentary about New York's drag scene and queer scene in the 80s or it might have been 70s, actually, but so it's an homage to that. I've been just doing a little bit of behind the scenes work and PA stuff.

SPEAKER_00

That is so cool.

SPEAKER_01

But we screen on the 28th. I'll put a QR code on the screen if you want to buy tickets.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, yes.

SPEAKER_01

It goes from 6 to 11 p.m.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

And it's gonna be the screening, there's gonna be performances and art installations. So like if you can come out, I'd love to see you. If you can't, that's it.

SPEAKER_00

That is so exciting. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Coming soon.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, oh my gosh. That uh because I saw you posting that and I was gonna ask you. But that all the art and stuff for it looks super cute.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. How did how did you like doing that?

SPEAKER_01

It was cool. It was cool to work with a lot of the people on just like the creative part of it because I started helping out in um October-ish, I think.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

But they had been working on it since I want to say March. So it's been a full year of them filming and stuff.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, that is so cool.

SPEAKER_01

So yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we'll have to see it. Y'all have to get your tickets and check it out.

SPEAKER_01

Support your queer community in Denver.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, is that okay? So you were taking pictures of those girlies. Yeah. Uh is that a part of it as well? Or no? Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like I mean, not the photos themselves, but I like helped with like just like behind the scenes stuff.

SPEAKER_00

They were literally so beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

Like they are all so pretty.

SPEAKER_00

And like and your photos look amazing. Like I was like starstruck. They look great.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but I'm super excited about that. And I just saw that 1986 performance and I was like, oh, I should talk about it.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, oh my god. Okay, period. What else do you want to talk about?

SPEAKER_01

Um we have new vlogs coming soon.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, yes. I'm so excited for that. We should do a vlog night out. Okay, period.

SPEAKER_01

So it like fully works.

SPEAKER_00

This is the new system we this is the one that um I spent my last dollars on and it didn't work.

SPEAKER_01

We got $90 cash for it. Yeah. And then, but this is like it has like a that, and then you can like turn it around, and it has like face tracking. Oh my god. So this is like the newest model.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, period. You know what? We need to think about. I feel like we need to sit down and have a don't mess with Texas brainstorming session. But I'm like, we need to be at Coachella and Rolling Loud.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god, I would love Rolling Loud. Also. There's another one. It's in a weird place. I think it's in Iowa, but hold on.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Um I've never been to a festival. I always thought I would hate it, but now I'm at a place in my life where I feel like I would love it.

SPEAKER_01

It's called Kilby Block Party. It's in Salt Lake City.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I feel like I've Oh yeah. I feel like I've heard of that.

SPEAKER_01

It's like one of the bigger, like niche ones. Like this was this is this year's The Lord, XX, Turnstyle, Modest Mouse. So it's a little bit more like indie music, but it's still like pretty cool. Yeah. Oh my god, Lord is crazy. I have always wanted to do Coachella, but I feel like over the years it's kind of gotten worse. I know. And it's scary.

SPEAKER_00

Expensive in like I don't know. I feel like if you show up in an outfit, it's very fashion like you're just showing up to be critiqued.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Rolling Loud is a good one. And then there's one. Is that the one in Chicago? What's the big one in is that?

SPEAKER_00

Chicago's Rolling Loud.

SPEAKER_01

And then there's another one.

SPEAKER_00

Um, is it the one in Miami, Ultra?

SPEAKER_01

Or Electric Daisy Festival. It's more of an EDM one, but I think that would be cool to go to.

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And I always wanted to go go to Austin City Limits.

SPEAKER_01

That's the one. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I like um always, it's super sad. Like, I literally was like telling Tess, I'm like, we need to go to Austin City Limits. Like, and the reason why I didn't go this year is because I was just like, I don't want to take off school. Like, I really need to just like lock in and not be missing school for travel. Yeah. And um I always was gonna stay with my aunt because my aunt lives in Austin and it's like right there. Like, so, but then literally, like during Austin City Limits, my aunt passed away. That was her funeral. So I was like flying with everyone. It was so weird. Like they're all going to like. Yeah, and I was like, I'm gonna like stay there one day and we'll just stay with my aunt. Like, it's so sad we never got to go. I mean, we can still go, but it's just crazy. But anyway, not to be a donor.

SPEAKER_01

No, you're good. And I looked up like the most iconic ones. Tomorrowland, which is in Belgium.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That would be Rockin' Rio, which is like just more of like a historical one. It's like still pretty cool to go to. Burning Man, which is a little weird.

SPEAKER_00

I'm not going to Burning Man.

SPEAKER_01

Electric Daisy Carnival, not festival. Okay. And then Lollapalooza. That's the one I was thinking.

SPEAKER_00

So Rolling Loud, I think, is Miami and Lollapalooza's.

SPEAKER_01

Rolling Loud is in Lollapalooza's Chicago. Lollapalooza's Chicago. Rolling Loud is give me a second.

SPEAKER_00

Well, that's my next concert while you're looking that up as ASAP Rocky. Like that, I know I'm just gonna cry. Yeah. I cry at like every concert. It's so emotional.

SPEAKER_01

I guess it changes. This year it's in Oh Um Orlando.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

So maybe that is Orlando. I guess. Because then it's also like there's one in Mumbai, India.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, wow. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

So I guess I don't know shit about fuck.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I I we I don't know anything either. So okay, that's like chill.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um yeah, I'm like, hopefully I gotta get my certifications for like the bartending and catering side of things for Peak, but like I'm gonna be working all the music festivals and just picking them up for like my side gig, you know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Aspen has a lot.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And they pay for like your mileage and like your hotel and shit. Like if I were to do Aspen, um or like something, or Veil and Brick. Like the last time every time Stevie Nix comes here, she always performs in like Veil or at like a music festival.

SPEAKER_01

So I want to see her so badly.

SPEAKER_00

I know we have to be four times.

SPEAKER_01

I know.

SPEAKER_00

Like she came like and I just didn't get to go or something. I think the last time she came was when we were in high school.

SPEAKER_01

I would go that's a concert I would go to Vegas for.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, totally. Great idea. Yes. And that that's what Vegas is for, is literally just like going out, like seeing concerts if you can.

SPEAKER_01

Because it's so easy. It's like an hour plane right now.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, literally. And it's just it's a fun night. Like, especially you can stay in the hotel where the concert's at.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like Planet Hollywood, we were gonna go with my mom to Shania Twain. But we saw her, she came to Denver. And then I think like Miranda Lambert, we were gonna go see.

SPEAKER_01

But yeah, I know my parents just went out to go see somebody, and they stayed uh I think the Aria. That's where we usually stay.

SPEAKER_00

That is where my second fave club is, Marquine.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um, or honestly, no, like not to be. This is gonna make me sound like a Vegas, like I don't know anything, but I did have so much fun at Omnia seeing Poly D. Oh. With like the chandelier dropping, but it only drops Saturdays.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, not every night.

SPEAKER_00

No, so like don't expect it. Um I need a week into Vegas this summer. Maybe I want to see if Aesop Rocky is going.

SPEAKER_01

My summer is kind of freeing up question work because like we were supposed to go on a hike June through July. Holy shit. On June 30th, leave and then come back the 13th. Oh, okay. And have a hike for like five days within that period. But my brother, he just got accepted into an art school in New York. Um I'm like, we should visit. Literally, it's called Parsons. It's Parsons and it's the new school. And he's getting his master in fine arts and photography.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Um, but we booked like those tickets before then, but we might have to cancel them. So I know. If so, then either go to New York or go to Vegas.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and I always wanted to see shout out Naya. I always wanted to go out and see Naya in New York, but it never was like a good time because she plays D1 softball. So it's like pretty slim pickings of when you can go. But I want to go to New York so bad.

SPEAKER_01

You have you been?

SPEAKER_00

No. I've never been. Isn't that crazy?

SPEAKER_01

You'd like need New York and you're I know.

SPEAKER_00

I'm kind of thinking I'm like one day, I love Colorado. That's the thing, is I love Denver. I love Colorado. But like if I ever like want to move, like, which I do, I want to move to like LA for the weather. Like, and I love LA. But I'm like, I feel like I would love New York. I think the only thing is the weather that I would hate.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. New York, I think, for some people is a place to be for like a week at a time, or even like a week at a most like a Vegas for some people, but then also some people just thrive in New York so much. Like I have so many friends who like and just the art and shit. It's like a major art hub and creative hub.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, I low-key might go to Vegas for ASAP Rocky. Or I could fuck. Um my grandparents live in Ohio and I need to see them. Oh, they're actually coming out to Colorado, so never mind. But I was thinking about either going to Phoenix, like to see Alexis and then go to ASAP Rocky together because she wants to go too. But I'm like, maybe me, Alexis, Naya, and whoever wants to go go to ASAP Rocky in Vegas.

SPEAKER_01

When is it?

SPEAKER_00

It's June 26th at the MGM Grand.

SPEAKER_01

That would yeah. I mean, I don't have anything.

SPEAKER_00

I'm like, why doesn't he come to Denver?

SPEAKER_01

I don't know. Some people avoid Denver. Like a lot of like we're like comics. A lot of comics avoid Denver and like drag queens. I know.

SPEAKER_00

Denver, I feel like I I don't know. I feel like we have a really huge gay crowd.

SPEAKER_01

We do, but I think there's also places that are bigger, and I think a lot of artists are trying to go to places that don't usually get uh queer art and cool. The Chopperone effect. Like um I think Caleb Heron recently was like going on tour and he didn't or he no, he did come to Denver, but he was joking about it, I remember.

SPEAKER_00

He's like, check on your friends who want to say they want to move to Denver, literally though.

SPEAKER_01

I want to move out of Denver at some point. I think I want to go Pacific Northwest. I want to like do Seattle or Portland.

SPEAKER_00

That would be fun.

SPEAKER_01

I've been there like three times in my life, and that's it.

SPEAKER_00

My grandma used to live there. It was beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

I crave that weather. I love rain every day. Like I love that shit.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and like you should live like on the seaside on seaside. Like it is so beautiful. We literally had a film Goonies is like Canon Beach. Like beautiful.

SPEAKER_01

We had a friend who had a beach house there, and we stayed there for I was like eight, so I don't remember much of it. But like I still remember so like I just say you don't remember much of it, but I remember like a lot of pivotal moments, and like we had like campfires on the beach and like roasted more marshmallows, and it's like I yearn for that. I need that.

SPEAKER_00

Literally, I love that. Um I also thinking about talking about the beach like that, I want to go to Nantucket.

SPEAKER_01

I wanna go, I wanna go to the like upper east like Upper East Side.

SPEAKER_00

Like the summer turned pretty. Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I want to go to the Hamptons. Yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_00

That's kind of where my friend lives, like Hamptons area-ish, kind of.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, like Cape Cod, something like that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I've never been in it, like it's all the rage, I guess, and all the rich people are there. So I'm like, ooh, I love it. Speaking of that, with like movies, I know that was like kind of on our list. I kind of am starting to compile a spring movie list. I'm like so happy to be in springtime.

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I hate that we didn't get winter. I do like we got like I just was reading something like right before we started filming that like this was our driest winter since 1933. And I'm like, oh, great.

SPEAKER_00

That was horrible. Because winter is like I don't know how I get through a normal winter. Because I'm already like I love spring, I'm like ready for it. But like even we were having such warm weather, like it was no particip precipitation. Um, but I'm just like, how do I survive a normal, like cold winter with like all the snow? Because I'm already ready for summer, but I do like that winter is or well it's prettier with snow, because then here it's just so fucking dead. Like it's just brown and dead.

SPEAKER_02

Brown, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like no fun. Um but yeah, like it snowed so beautifully last week. Yeah. And then I'm like, I don't even know.

SPEAKER_01

It's supposed to snow this Sunday, and then we're supposed to have a heat wave next week. It's literally gonna get into the 80s, and I'm like, okay, wait.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. What about Tuesday, St. Paddy's?

SPEAKER_01

Um fucking cold.

SPEAKER_00

It's cold every year.

SPEAKER_01

It probably is it like won't be on the forecast, and then it will be the day after.

SPEAKER_00

I know. I don't even know what I'm gonna wear, guys. We need to go to the city.

SPEAKER_01

Tuesday 67.

SPEAKER_00

Like maybe wait, maybe St. Patrick's Day. We could low key do our St. Patrick's Ebb. Maybe like pre or something. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'll have to see what I have already scheduled with Ella, but Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, period. That's gonna be fun. I don't know what I'm gonna wear. I like normally every year I'm so hyped because St. Patrick's Day is so fucking fun, and I always have crazy lore. But I just it's been it came so quick.

SPEAKER_02

It did.

SPEAKER_00

Like I feel like it was just Valentine's Day, and then Easter's coming up. Jesus Christ. Um rising. Um, it says Kevin Gates is gonna be here May 19th at Red Rocks.

SPEAKER_01

Did you actually no, he didn't. Oh, wait. No, never mind. I thought he was in Brockhampton.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no.

SPEAKER_01

No. I went to go see them as well.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, really? Oh, that's so fun. I wish I got to see um Kodak Black. Wait. Okay, yeah, I'm just looking at all these fucking tickets. But um, yeah, craziness. Maybe we'll do something silly for St. Pax. Yes and dress up like leprechauns or something.

SPEAKER_01

The weekend before or after, maybe we'll do like a fun podcast. Like a vlog. We might do a vlog.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, going out in Denver.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, beer crawl vibes.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Cause okay, Loki, if we do a beer crawl, we should all wear like matching something if we can.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Or get like stupid tacky shirts at like Walmart or something. That would be fun. Because I literally don't even have an outfit.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, we don't have like any green in my closet.

SPEAKER_00

I don't do, but it's like not going out stuff. And one of them I've worn like every year for St. Pat's. So nonetheless, um, well, and that happened with me for Zara Larson too, is literally the shit I ordered. Um fucking, it didn't come in time, so I had to like scramble for my outfit. So that's why I was like kind of worried. But she wore like a polo in a couple of her other shows, and I was like, let's bring it back, like the polos. Yeah. Not that I'm like bringing it back or whatever. And I just saw it at fucking Marshalls. That was literally a size small. I'm not a size small, but I'm like, maybe it's not supposed to fit like a crop top or something, but I wore it as one. And uh the heels I wore, I posted a picture on my story, like a mirror picture. Those heels I was gonna wear, but they're too uncomfortable. And it's a fucking one. Yeah, so I they're both white, but like the first ones weren't like platform, they were just like a stiletto. I need like a platform if I'm going out, or else I literally can't. Like it hurts too bad. Um oh, but speaking of movies, like spring movies, I'm kind of compiling a list. Yeah, that's how we white chicks makes me think of spring.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm like, white white chicks, that's why it was like Hamptons. And then um two can play at that game. I haven't seen it, but it just looks so sort of like the aesthetic and the colors and stuff. And I just see clips on TikTok, so basically I've seen it. And 13 going on 30. Um, those are my spring movie lists so far that I'm gonna watch. Do you have any like spring movie or Steel Magnolias too?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I mean, I'm getting back into my movie era. Oh, yes, I'm definitely more. Alamo Draft House, the one near us. I got a I re-upped my subscription because I canceled it for a while, but I can go, I pay $19 a month, and I can see basically a movie every day of the month if I want to. That's crazy for a dollar.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

Um tonight I'm gonna go see Undertone. It's a horror movie about a podcaster who gets sent a message like different audio files, and the audio files are like possessed apparently, or something like that. I'm so scared. And then they get haunted or something. I don't know much about it, but I'm like, oh god. None of y'all better sound like someone's gonna be like.

SPEAKER_00

And don't be pulling some That's crazy. How come I've never heard of it?

SPEAKER_01

It uh it's like kind of I hate the word indie, but like indie-ish, kind of.

SPEAKER_00

No way, it kind of seems like very camp. Um or is it not?

SPEAKER_01

Kinda like I don't want to play the full. Maybe I'll like show you later, but I'm scared.

SPEAKER_00

I do not need a VC in that right now.

SPEAKER_01

Undertone. Well, it's just like a plot. A an A24 horror film that I love A24 follows Evie. Eevee Evie.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

A paranormal podcast host caring for her dying mother who becomes haunted by ten mysterious, unsettling audio recordings sent to her. The film featuring mostly one-one performance by Nina Keary blurs the line between recordings and her reality.

SPEAKER_00

That's kind of like giving Blair Witch Project. And this other horror movie that I forget the name of it. It was so fucking scary. It was like some guy like was saying his kid was dying and like wanted to show his like he wanted to make basically like tapes for his kid before he died or something. Like, and he saw this like random guy and they went hiking or whatever, he ended up killing him, but it was all just record the whole movie was on like a camcorder.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. I love horror movies. There's another movie that I want to go watch.

SPEAKER_00

Um, but yeah, I think is it I is it Scream, another Scream coming out of it. Scream seven.

SPEAKER_01

It's Scream Seven.

SPEAKER_00

Okay. Cause I wanted to I love Scream's like my favorite. Yeah. Um, but I want to see Scary Movie 2. They're making a new one. And I'm excited for that. Because I love the scary movie series.

SPEAKER_01

Scary movie six?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. When is it?

SPEAKER_01

June 5th.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yes. I'm so excited for that. I'm back in my movie grind. I still haven't seen the moment though. Well, it's Charlie XCX's like that thing. Um, and then I just saw Solo Mio. It was horrible, Don't See It with Kevin James. Um, I I don't Yeah, it was it's this whole thing, I don't even want to get into it. But um Wuthering Heights, I might, because I'm kind of running out of time, I have class at 1230. But um maybe I'll dedicate even an an entire episode. That is crazy work. But literally loved Wuthering Heights. Have you seen it yet?

SPEAKER_01

No, I was thinking about buying a ticket to go see it sometime.

SPEAKER_00

Is it at the Alamo already? Yeah. Okay. Should I go?

SPEAKER_01

Should I get a ticket?

SPEAKER_00

Yes. And I will literally go with you. How much is it normally? Because it's pretty expensive there.

SPEAKER_01

Well, because the tickets are like $17. And then food it's expensive. Like one time I spent $48 there on but I got a drink.

SPEAKER_00

It's expensive at the regular movie theater too.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my God. I went out to with my mom on her birthday. We all went out as family to Red Robin because we used to go there when we were kids and we hadn't been in a while. I want you to guess how much it was for four people at Red Robin.

SPEAKER_00

Did you get like drinks?

SPEAKER_01

Two people got drinks. Alcohol? Yes.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_01

One drink.

SPEAKER_00

Did you get desserts or apps?

SPEAKER_01

We got one app, four mains, and then one dessert.

SPEAKER_00

Um 120.

SPEAKER_01

Uh with tip, it was $206. What? And I was like, I literally had to look over the receipt because I'm usually the one who like tips and like whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But I looked it over like three times and I was like, how in the hell is red robin $206? That's $3 a person.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. For four people.

SPEAKER_01

And then we went out to an Italian restaurant in Denver on the night of her birthday, the night after. It was 240 with Tip for a while.

SPEAKER_00

And it was like a nice Italian place. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Four people. I got a drink. Henry got three drinks, and my other mom got three drinks.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

And I was like, what the hell?

SPEAKER_00

That is insane. That's robbery.

SPEAKER_01

Literally. And like it wasn't good food either. I literally had food poisoning that night. I was like on the toilet.

SPEAKER_00

Like oh my god.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, that is a scam.

SPEAKER_00

That's horrible. Yeah. Well, the red rob I fuck Red Robin.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, we were like, that's the last time we're going back there, but but I think I used to get a milkshake from there, maybe.

SPEAKER_00

It used to be good food. Yeah, it used to be. It used to be really good food. Because it's just like a normal chain restaurant. It's nothing like crazy. That's why you gotta stick with chilies. We literally almost went to chilies.

SPEAKER_01

When are you free next to see this? Or we can do chilies. Both.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I'm gonna be I'll be like able to go at the most random times, but mostly night times. Okay. Like maybe next week.

SPEAKER_01

I can do next Friday, Thursday, Friday.

SPEAKER_00

I don't have my next schedule out, but I'll let you know as soon as I do. Because like Friday should work. If Friday day doesn't work, then Friday night.

SPEAKER_01

And we need to do a Chili's, like, get them on.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, yes. I love a Chili's day. But Wuthering Heights, like, uh, I won't talk about it, but I'm like, I wanna I need like a Wuthering Heights photo shoot.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, you can't, I've heard a lot about it.

SPEAKER_00

So like if you wanna uh well I I want to watch it with you and then we'll talk about it on the pod because your life will be changed. And Charlie XCX's like album is so good on it. Um okay. But we're running out of time there because of me. But um I love you guys so much. Thank you for watching. We're gonna have so much more content coming in. Um we're stepping up the we're at 199 followers on the Instagram. So one more person, 200.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and we really need you guys to like share this link, this video. And interact. Especially on YouTube. Please just like, even if it's just like put I think honestly, copying the link into like your notes app on iPhone, the YouTube link would work as a share. Do whatever you can. We gotta get our shares up, we gotta get subscribers.

SPEAKER_00

Um Panhandling Jason Nash.

SPEAKER_01

Literally.

SPEAKER_00

Oh my god, Brooke Schofield got married the other day.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

And a side part slick back bun.

SPEAKER_01

Is she the one She's canceled.

SPEAKER_00

She was uncancelled. She was uncancelled.

SPEAKER_01

She just got married.

SPEAKER_00

To a pedo. Tu a pedto and And there's so many hot topics that I low-key just forgot about. But next week. Next episode. Next weekend. It's been two weeks. Let's hope. Next up, we're gonna dive into these hot topics. Okay. Love you, mess heads. We'll see y'all soon. Interact the fuck. Bye. Period.
