Hello everyone, welcome to another episode of the Celestial Origins Podcast. On today's episode, we're going to be continuing our exploration through all of the planets to dive into what those mean and how those can show up in our lives. The first two planets that we did, we were going in order within our solar system, started with Mercury, went into Venus, and since the next planet in the mix would be Earth, typically we don't see an Earth sign in terms of the planet represented in our chart, though there is some debate on how that can show up. So for this I wanted to focus on the Earth's moon, our moon, to just do a high-level understanding of moon signs. What is your moon sign? In astrology, the moon sign shares details about your inner world, and this is the intimate emotional side of you. This is your instincts, your emotional trends, how you react to stress. What makes you feel secure? And where you find that security. This is the side of you that not everyone may see. It's more of a personal or private. For some people, it's more private. For some people, they may wear their heart on their sleeve. Really, when you get to know someone is when you will start to see their moon sign showing up. When you meet someone for the first time, they may be showing up with the mask of their sun sign or their rising sign. The moon is where you start to really sit down and talk with somebody and get to know them on a deeper level. The moon can also represent the mother or the mother figure. In a birth chart, the moon can also provide insight into our childhood, our relationship with our mother or maternal figures in our lives. The moon can describe, or our moon sign can describe how sensitive we are and how we instinctively interact with our surroundings. The moon symbolizes our desire to dive into the unconscious, or not. Or it may be sticking more to the surface. It may be that going deep is scary, depending upon the sign. The moon, our moon sign, will also have us turn to the past and indulge in feelings. From the position of the moon in the zodiac, we can learn how a person behaves when they become an instinctual creature. It shows us the instinctive, irrational nature of people, their true raw form. The position of the moon also shows us how a child may view their mother and what energy their mother influenced them with, mostly when they were a child. And again, it doesn't necessarily have to be a biological mother. This could be anyone that is in a maternal role for that individual. So how the moon signs find emotional security. In astrology, think of the moon as your emotional home. Before your logic kicks in, your moon sign takes the wheel to help you feel safe and soothed. Water moons, this is Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces, they need deep, honest emotional bonds. They feel safest when they can share raw feelings and trust that you will not leave. They connect to energies around them and they feel the emotions of others. When they develop greater boundaries to protect their fragile energy, they find fulfillment. It is a very common trait of water placements, no matter where they are, to be one emotional. That's sort of the first thing that comes to mind. But emotionally receptive, emotionally uh connected, connected to energies. This is the the psychics, the intuitives of the zodiac. Water moons also enjoy and value and need time alone in solitude. They need to do a lot of self-exploration, and they also need to express love that can help them to find balance. They need to express their creativity. They need to have they enjoy listening to music. Physical touch can help them with connecting with their emotions. Um, sometimes having them put a hand over their heart and ask them what they're feeling, or um just putting, you know, a hand on their back to say, hey, what's going on right now for you? Listening to their gut instincts and intuition will help them to find answers to life's problems. Earth moons. This is Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn. They need tangible stability, a structured routine, quiet time in nature, or a clean space helps them to feel secure. They are stable, practical, and committed signs. Their emotional fulfillment comes through working hard, reaching goals, and creating emotional stability. Change for them can be challenging and they seek to control their emotions. Repressing what they feel is common. Having a stable routine and a plan helps them to feel comfortable to express their emotions. They dislike being vulnerable and might hide their true feelings from others. They are dependable, they're reliable, they're solid, and they have grounded energy that is really attractive to others. And I can absolutely relate to this. As a Virgo moon, I feel stressed when I don't have control. I feel stressed when there isn't a plan. I feel stressed when I don't feel stable, when my emotions don't feel stable, and it's something that I want to be able to have control over. So when I feel like I don't have control over my emotions or my um my exterior um exterior or external factors in my life, that is when I can feel a lot of stress. And for sure, it is hard at times to express feelings or express them in a true manner, and a lot of times I may cry when I'm frustrated, cry when I'm angry, cry when I'm upset, cry when I'm happy. Um, and that can feel very frustrating too because it's not exactly what I planned. Fire moons, Aries, Leo, Sagittarius. These are the signs that need freedom, and they need to be able to express express their passion. They feel safest when they can express themselves, chase their adventures, and be appreciated for who they are. These are the signs that typically at somewhere along their life were told that they were too much in some way, too loud, too passionate, too excitable, too fill in the blank. They are passionate, they're independent, and they value their freedom. Emotionally, they want to express themselves and act on what they feel. These moon signs like adventure, they like challenge, they like to move their bodies, and they are excitable, they need social interactions, they need relationships that will challenge them. They also need rot autonomy and romance. Fire sign moons express their emotions freely and passionately. And if you think about fire as an energy, it can be all-consuming, but it can also be a light glow, it can be warm, it can be um the the mood lighting. Um if it's if you're looking at a tea light candle versus a bonfire, it's a very big difference, but ultimately it's the same kind of energy, but depending upon how it is enhanced, it can give off a different feeling. Air moons, Gemini, Libra, and Aquarius, these are the moons that need mental connection. They feel safe when they can talk through their ideas, when they can socialize, and when they can understand the logic behind a situation. They handle emotional difficulties by analyzing things and mentally picking apart their emotions. They are excellent at communicating and giving others advice, but they can find it challenging to get in touch with their own feelings when it comes time to talk about what they're actually feeling. Air sign moons are detached from their emotions, or they can be. They are more comfortable thinking about things and have to make extra effort to get in touch with their inner feelings. They prefer using their intellect to solve their emotional problems. So I want to just go through the moon sign in all twelve zodiac signs, just quick keywords just to give you a sense of each of these on an individual basis. Moon in Aries is impulsive, bright, energetic, and independent. Moon in Taurus is practicality, endurance, stability, and loyalty. Moon in Gemini is changing, flexible, fast, talks about their feelings. Moon in Cancer, emotions, protection, concerning historians. Moon in Leo, goals, attention, pride needs to be seen by others. They're putting on a show. Moon in Virgo details, critical analysis, judges themselves harshly. Moon in Libra Harmony, justice, balance, indecisive, independent. Moon in Scorpio, mysterious intuition, impulses that can be perceived as hurtful or can feel hurtful. Moon in Sagittarius, enthusiastic, honest, bold, resilient. Moon in Capricorn, self control, patience, stable, solid. Moon in Aquarius, selfish yet helpful, detached, cut off, intuitive. Moon in Pisces, need for quiet, empathetic, and overly sensitive. Another aspect for understanding your moon sign is understanding the phase that the moon was in when you were born under that moon. It can provide insights into our chart as well about our some certain intricacies to our personalities. And to find the moon phase that you were born under, if you go to astroseek.com, they actually have a moon phase calculator by entering in your birth details. And this is just a very brief overview that can give you a little bit more insight into how your moon sign can show up for you specifically under that moon phase. In the next two episodes, we'll be going into moon signs a little bit further, such as working with the phases of the moon and what each of those phases mean from an astronomical standpoint and how that energy can show up from an astrological, psychological way as well. And we'll also go into practical planning with the moon phases. So look for those episodes in the coming weeks with Christy, and we will chat with you soon. Thank you for listening to another episode of the Celestial Origins podcast.
