In this episode, the host J, along with co-hosts Javan and Angus discuss the incredible testimonies and attention to Christian prayer that has been brought out the World Cup by both fans and the actual players themselves. The three then discuss news developments in the Church world such as the Southern Baptists officially banning women pastors as well as CCV outbidding other property developers in the Gilbert area for a 19 acre piece of land. The group then looks at an interesting video taken in Indonesia involving a visual phenomenon that looked like a rainbow portal taking by on-passing fisherman. The trio then takes delves into a discussion about the end times and the different perspectives on it as told by Islam, the Communist agenda, DMT users, and even the newly released Disclosure Day from Steven Spielberg. The group then closes by talking about Elon Musk becoming the world's first trillionaire due to the SpaceX IPO skyrocketing, Indian workers filming housework for AI to learn how to do as well as Chinese drone swarms.

SPEAKER_06

Hello, friends. Welcome to the Cornerstone Collective. My name is Jay Brown. I'm your host. Today with me is Angus McLeod. Hey, hey. As well as Javen Brown. Hello, hello. We're talking about the intersection of Christ and culture, and we talk about our seven C's that help Gus guide us in that conversation. They are commitment, community, communication, competence, creativity, compassion, and celebration. We want us to start with the scripture today. I'm asking Angus to read it.

SPEAKER_01

We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering you be uh before our God and Father, your work and work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. First Thessalonians 1, 2, and 3.

SPEAKER_06

Amen to that. Now we've been talking about our commitment to God with our new theme, letters. What's that been like for you guys?

SPEAKER_01

It was really cool. This last weekend uh we had three different voices share, uh, which is always fun uh because you get other people's perspectives on uh on what the scripture says. But what was super neat was uh, and what I love is how Holy Spirit doesn't just speak on Sunday. He speaks to people throughout the week and uh and through the month because we had uh several people who just came up to us during service, after service, and and spoke about how they had recently been there and uh in scriptures and reading it. And so uh it's really neat that the Lord will lead you there and get you to start thinking about it and then give you a whole other perspective. It's been really cool. Yeah, absolutely.

SPEAKER_07

Jamie, what's been your perspective, your take on it? Yeah, I mean, I thought it was really good. I I same as Angus, also really enjoyed the fact that we got three different perspectives on it. I thought Angie would did really well with sharing her own testimony and what that's been like, not only for her, but for her family as well, and seeing the fulfillment of what it means to be consistent in your own walk and have that reflect upon your family in terms of the way that they come to view Christ and come to view what it means to be a Christian. Yeah, it's and then themselves opening the door into that and becoming part of a church and things like that. And also uh Serena's bit that she shared on grief, which for their family within the last year has been a really big proponent of what they've had to deal with and had to have struggled with uh in losing such a valuable member of their family. So I thought that was really big, even though personally it didn't resonate with me. I understood that a lot of people really felt the heaviness of that message, especially because of how silent it was and just kind of like the somber attitude that was maintained throughout all of it. So I thought it was it was really powerful that we got a mix of different perspectives that everybody seemed to emotionally and spiritually resonate with.

SPEAKER_06

There's a lot of response at the altar for those that wanted to come forward and pray along those lines for you know, trusting the Lord in the middle of a difficult season, maybe in the middle of a trial, uh and living the way of God and listening to the Holy Spirit to guide us as well as as we're navigating loss, how to how to hold on to Christ and how to navigate that process of healing and what that means for the peace of God to rest upon us and to outpace us as we walk in in that process. Uh really powerful Angus. We we're we um part of talking to some people, we lost one of our members this last week, and I don't think it's uh inappropriate to share kind of what happened in her story, but Evangelina is somebody who's been a part of us and with us, especially with with Mercy House for a long time. Uh we were speaking with her husband Charlie and and their and their children as we lost her this last week. Uh and she's with the Lord. Uh, but in doing so, it was really amazing because the day before she wrote down a scripture. And she wrote down the scripture that Serena talked about on Sunday. Now we've been planning that sermon for months, and so in the breakdown of who was going to talk about it, and then she wrote that literally the day before she passed about the hope that we have in Christ about being internal with him. And I man, it just all of us in the room were just kind of blown away.

SPEAKER_01

What was your take from it? Uh yeah, it was it was incredible. Uh again, it's that thing that Holy Spirit works all the time, all the way around with with everybody, and it's it's really neat. Um, you know, we in in our profession we're faced with eternity a lot more than other people. Right. And so usually it's not until somebody in your life passes away that you're faced with mortality and and what comes next. That's right. And so for us, uh, because you know, I'm I'm walking with through another with another family too. So we've got two services, one this Saturday, one next Saturday. And uh and so with that, it gives me personally a lot of time to reflect on uh on eternity and what it is, what is it I'm doing with my life now, you know. And um it's it's also great to see because when you when you start to talk about that with other people, you see these people through other lenses. You know, we we saw Evangeline through uh just on Sunday mornings and and serving with her at Mercy House and different things. But as you begin to hear from other people, man, it's incredible how how many facets we all have to life. And um and it's just we what we didn't know is that she was sending out prayers and and scriptures to all of her family members every day. Uh, but she also now her family is finding out how many different people that she was sending outside of the family, different scriptures and encouragements to. Uh, and it man, it's just really encouraging to see um to see that uh people are taking you know their part of being the church and going forth and making disciples. It's really cool to see.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's encouraging to hear. And we've had even people, others that have lost people recently, and so we've been praying just for them as they navigate that loss, that they would be in the same way, remembering those highlights. We you know, we we love deeply, we grieve deeply. But we want to be those that don't stay with that um open wound in our heart, but instead we want healing from God so we can move forward. So praise the Lord. One of the things we've been talking about is the World Cup. J Bo, you and I have been watching the World Cup and watching some of the soccer. I know Angus knows it exists. I don't know if it's permeated your house yet. No, it hasn't. But yeah, we've been watching a bunch of the matches and even through uh you know, through an antenna on the outdoor TV so we can watch some stuff in the back garden. But uh, what what's your and your take from watching these guys uh playing each other? Oh, I mean, it's been super fun.

SPEAKER_07

I think every single World Cup that we get, the level of the game has just continued to rise. I know a lot of people complain about modern-day football and it being about tactics and all that, but as far as the actual level of competition, level of upsets that we're getting from quote unquote smaller countries playing historically better countries, it just seems like the skill gap kind of gets closer and closer and closer every year. It's right. And just the highest level football is being played no matter what game you're watching. Um, so it's been it's been incredible to watch. Like we've seen some of the titans of world football in Europe, like Spain and Portugal, go on and tie nations that they should have never been able to tie. Like uh um, beat them, yeah. Shouldn't beat them outright, yeah. Exactly. Like Capa Verde, and I know I think Portugal today just tied was it Congo? Yeah, it was pretty pretty crazy. So stuff and results that you never really would expect. And I hope we get more results like this for the World Cup now that we have a bunch more games that we get to watch rather than before, where it was only like uh I think it was only 32 teams that played before, and now it's like 48. So the level of competition just has continued to increase, and the level of games has also continued to increase as well. So it's been super fun to watch.

SPEAKER_06

It's true. Time of recording, we're still in the group stage. Um, most people not even having played their first game yet, but we did have some pretty amazing um things happen and been really enjoying that and what has been happening with it. Um, as far as like we had Messi get a hat trick the other day, we had Killian Obappe with two goals, got a brace. We saw Harlan Collins got a brace. So some really good highlights from that. And one of the cool things that we've seen consistent across all these games is that players who are Christians who are of faith, they're joining together from both teams after the games and are praying in the middle of the center of the pitch. And that's been pretty cool. I mean, one of the first games we saw that happen, we're like, man, this is awesome from both sides, despite who won, who lost, if they tied, they're coming to the middle and uh and worshiping the Lord. It's been pretty bad. That is cool. Yeah, it's been amazing. Um, Javen, you saw where they were singing different different uh teams were singing worship songs and doing that. That's like what they're doing in their locker room.

SPEAKER_07

No, I know, absolutely amazing. I know I saw a video of Ecuador doing it where they themselves were just in the hotel room and they were all praying together, which is super powerful. Um, also worshiping in the same way. I saw the entire team of Curacao right now. Yeah, Curacao. Literally, I think they were gathered in like a hotel conference room or something like that. There was like around 30 of them or something, even their coaches included, and they were all just holding hands and singing worship songs. That was super amazing. I know Curacao also in the game after with Germany. There's one German player that went over to with the rest of the team and all pray in the middle, saying, even though we're um we're against each other as far as being on the pitch and playing one another uh in terms of the World Cup, we're United as Brothers in Christ, which I thought was super powerful. Yeah, the US men's team doing the same exact thing with themselves, all gathering in the middle to pray together. That was super powerful.

SPEAKER_06

It was.

SPEAKER_07

And it's just been amazing to see demonstrations of people really actively living for Christ and using sports kind of as an introductory platform to people for people to really come to understand just how committed people are in their walk to Christ and what the game really means to them, as far as how God has helped propel them to use them as a platform for his glory and and shedding that all back to him instead of using it in order to boost their own ego and stuff like that.

SPEAKER_06

I love it. There's been so many that have been posting scriptures, they've been they've been giving love to God um right after their matches, or even as they've been interviewed, many of the players of the match have been giving glory to God. I know even uh Messi, he had a his first hat trick in is playing international football. Um obviously he's one of the all-time scoring uh leaders for the most goals in World Cups. He's playing his fourth World Cup, which is pretty amazing. But he just said right after the thing, he's like, Yeah, God has blessed me so much, like what a blessing to do, which is pretty amazing for you know him to even have that talk about that, you know, and doesn't seem to be caught up in ego the way that some can. Um, but staying staying, keeping it the right thing, the right thing, 100%. Pretty amazing.

SPEAKER_01

One thing I'm curious about because you guys have followed the World Cup for many years and all of that. Um, in the past, I haven't heard you guys talk about the the faith level of the players. Is this is this kind of a different World Cup as far as that goes? Are more people sharing their faith and being more open about it than they have in the past?

SPEAKER_06

I think it's so, and I think it has very much to do with uh because it's held in America and so people in in obviously Mexico and also Canada, but because the especially here, it's been very open, and people are very feel feel free to speak and they feel free to do those kind of things. We didn't see that in Qatar in the same way. Not that we didn't see people that would pray or give you know love to God after they scored a goal. Um, you see you definitely saw the Muslim players like bow down and kneel and do what they would do for their prayer, so you'd see them celebrate in that way. Saw Christian players that would give glory to God the other way. But it's very interesting. You didn't have the same kind of thing with with that kind of promotion happening. No, though there was a very good vibe amongst the the fans, everybody was very like at peace with each other, everybody was cool, even if we're playing against somebody else, like everybody was friends, and that was really cool. That's still happening, which is pretty amazing. So I will say to that end, like it's been powerful to see like, man, these guys are uh, you know, they're they're letting really letting their light shine for Christ. That's that's pretty cool.

SPEAKER_01

Because I haven't seen, you know, in the past I hadn't seen that kind of stuff across social media, but now it's kind of it's kind of all over the place, which is really cool.

SPEAKER_06

It really is, yeah. It's been really, really popular, and we thank that. We thank God for that and seeing these people have the the boldness to share their story with God, which is awesome. One of the people that recently just gave their faith to Christ and it's kind of went public with that faith, is the uh YouTuber uh and kind of popular uh influencer, Joe Weller. He's out of the UK. Javen, you know a little bit about Joe's story, he's kind of a wild boy from the young days.

SPEAKER_07

Oh, 100%, dude. Joe back in like 2017, uh fresh off of fighting KSI, had like a huge ego. And I mean, that was basically what made him popular on the internet, is just the fact that he was like a crazy FIFA slash football YouTuber that was like really enthusiastic and ecstatic in his personality and just like kind of all about himself. But watching his transformation, not only in how he treats other people, even before he came to Christ before was so refreshing because it was like you get this young kid that's all full of energy, but also all about himself and like spending money on himself and being like, I'm the best in this scene, nobody else can touch me. And then after that thing with KSI kind of happened, he's sort of is like brought back to a level where he's been humbled and he realizes okay, there's levels to what we're really doing here. And then the way that he just like has treated everybody around him has been super, super mature and him just essentially stepping up and becoming a man. And especially with him now turning to Christ, it's it's an amazing thing to hear because it kind of just reaffirms that journey in the fact that his works have kind of been leading him there, but also he's finally found that motivation for what he's truly seeking after. And I think just because of the way that he's propelled himself to live now, especially within the last few years, 100% he'll continue to be an incredible proponent and an incredible witness to not only the side man, not only the other UK influencers like Kalix and Cal Freeze and other people out there, but he'll just continue to kind of serve as a perfect testimony to anybody who's really watched him since the beginning of what it means to walk with Christ and what that transformation really looks like over a long period of time.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it changes attitude, change the way that he's interacting with others. Absolutely. Powerful, love that. Uh, one of the things that we did see recently, a decision in the Christendom was the Southern Baptist Convention came together. Uh, and they had been kind of uh there's been a lot of things that have been up for discussion with the Southern Baptists. Obviously, um we we love them as brothers and sisters in Christ, um, and we believe in Jesus the way they believe in Jesus. We have some things that we disagree about as far as Holy Spirit and some other things like that. But one of the things that they did bring about to convert to have a conversation about and did continue to reinforce was that they banned women pastors. Very interesting tick. Angus, what's your what was your thought on that?

SPEAKER_01

Uh, you know, I I understand where they they grab from scripture and different things like that. Um, but I know we've got some incredible women here who who preach just they preach absolute fire. And it's I think that it's it's sad for them as a as a faith group because what they're doing is they're cutting out 50% of the voices, cutting out 50% of the revelation, you know, and um I I think it's kind of of a disservice to themselves. Again, I see I I can see where they're coming from, but at the same time First Timothy. Yeah, but that's one uh one area that I'm glad that we as Pentecostals in the AG, we don't necessarily align with that. And so it gives us the ability to have women come up and preach because I know you know, Celeste this weekend with Angie and Serena, we've had a lot of women come and uh and they've brought great revelation. And I think it's as as men, we think a certain way. And so it's always good for us to hear from a woman's perspective, and uh because we think differently, we see things from a different angle, and sometimes I think it's it's really good for us to be able to see that.

SPEAKER_06

It's absolutely right. You know, we see it within context, so we see it as Paul's writing to Timothy about how he should do those things. The context of where he was was that the women ran that that um that culture, and they were very much it was about sex and about worship of these things, and so it was dictatorial in that way, and so we see that within its context of trying to bring about the right kind of setup about uh having those things and having someone that is the head of the house and things like that. But it doesn't anyway from our perspective disqualify the voice of a woman, and especially especially in the in regards to faith. We see where you know women went alongside and were working with Paul in planting the churches, we see that within the early churches, people had voices that were there, we see that in the Proverbs, even way before Christ, and talking about what it means to be a Proverbs 31 woman. We see continually where even Jesus Himself at the first miracle would listen to his mother. So it's not like we were there was a there was a uh rejection of the woman's voice or influence. And so we see it within those contexts. And so from the assemblies of God, um, which is a the network of churches that were a part of your cornerstone, we affirm uh women in their ministry and their anointing to be called by God and to share the word. Amen. Which has been good. Um, I will say it is interesting because we have some good friends of ours that are in neighboring churches, some of them quite large. Uh one of our friends uh there they are also Southern Baptists, a different convention than this one. Though this convention is the same one that uh that actually had Rick Warren's church and then kind of like kicked them out of their thing as they ordained women for ministry. Similarly, our friends that are here at Palm Valley, as they ordained women for ministry, their organization pushed against them, and they had women kind of in those roles without the title for a long time. And so I was talking to their pastor about it, Ryan, uh, and he's a great guy, very a man of the word and other things, and he was like, Yeah, you know, we're wrestling with this and trying to figure out how do we walk together, how do we walk this thing forward. And that's now been a uh a few years, and so they've been walking that thing out, and you know, God has continued to bless the ministry and what's going on there, but it is very insightful to see how that'll look and what that'll look as we walk forward as Christendom, especially within America. So the Lord help us. Give us grace to walk together. Now, one of our neighboring churches, one of the largest churches in America, is actually here in Phoenix Metro. It's called Christ Church of the Valley, CCV. And uh they recently just won a bid that actually hit the news here in Phoenix, but it's actually not just here as national news, that they outbid the developers in Gilbert, Arizona, which is a growing area uh to buy a 19-acre uh plot of land right by the top gulf, kind of in the heart of Gilbert in that area, in that developing area, for nine million bucks. J-Va, what'd you think about the CCV winning the bid?

SPEAKER_07

Oh, yeah, I mean, that's crazy. Well, we understand, especially in Arizona, you can feel the presence of CCV a lot as far as how big their congregation is. I think they're estimated to have at least like 20 or in between like 20 to 30,000 just in this valley alone, and they kind of have more campuses going out towards California and some out in Nevada as well. But especially with how big and how well funded their congregation is because of some of the notable names that they have in Arizona that attend their churches, this makes complete sense that they have the funding to do it. But the fact that they outbid the developers is so funny to me to get the actual plot of land, and especially right by the top golf, because that just means it'll serve kind of as like using that as an outlet because they've been extremely notable or extremely notable for using sports as a big outlet to get people into their church. They're huge on their soccer club teams and their soccer program, even if it's recreational. Yeah, same thing with like flag football. They do, I think, like basketball club teams, things like that. They've been really good at it, and they also play at some of the highest levels that you can in Arizona. Yeah. Um, and they use that just as a funnel for people to come into their congregation. So I have a feeling probably with being in a neighboring parking lot to top golf, it'll probably act as the same situation, except now they don't have to fund it, which is pretty funny. But yeah, so maybe that's where that extra money went to going into actually spending it towards the the building of the church.

SPEAKER_06

Uh CCB is the internet independent church, but I will say like they have had a vision to be 15 minutes from every person in uh Maricopa or in the in the valley. I think that's spread even further to other parts of Arizona. But uh, I think they have 14, if not 15, campuses that are happening right now in Metro Phoenix, and then they have others like up in north or even towards Tucson. Uh so we cheer for them, pray for them, want them to thrive. I mean, we need more people to know Jesus in this in the valley.

SPEAKER_01

Amen.

SPEAKER_06

And so we really much involved with that. We've connected with Pastor Ashley in the past. He's someone who's their their lead pastor and teaching uh voice that's there. They have a number of different people on all these campuses. We've interacted with a lot of their team, even had their team here leading worship at our spot for different conferences. So, man, we cheer for them. And I was I was encouraged because this has been an issue, especially for we're we're kind of a small to medium-sized church. We have other friends kind of in the next bracket, that you know, thousand to two thousand, and we have some friends that are in that that kind of like three to five thousand, others that are more like the ten thousand. And all of us, including the ten thousand member churches, have a real hard time getting the kind of land we would want to have for a church property because we can't outbid the developers. And so, you know, in Arizona, man, we're everything gets snapped up right away. They do not leave room for a church place that would have been a normal part of the center part of a town or a new part of a development. They'd always have, you know, a school, places for churches and other things. They don't have any of that in these master plan communities. So you have to kind of make your way into it by the by the bucks. And so I was really encouraged by that in some of the people that you know, yeah, just because you're a high worth individual going to a big church does not mean that you're parting with your dollars to help the vision of the church. So I was encouraged that they do have people that are sharing in that vision, giving to that that uh in uh to that focus of church planting. Really encouraged, especially in Gilbert. Yeah, really, really cool. Yeah, that's very cool. They you know they do a really good job with their sports complexes and some of those things that are kind of adjacent to their church buildings, and I really do like that concept. I'm thankful for it. And it's one of the things that they have thought about that. They've also done a really good job in reaching special needs families and doing a lot of great work with them. I know they're partnered with Tim Debo Foundation, have done some big mu big nights there, and I just think it's really great. Yeah, it's really, really cool. So cheering for them, praying for them, and go do it again, guys. Go for it. We're praying for you. One of the cool things we saw recently that happened that someone caught uh video of was something that they that that uh scientists and kind of uh weather people are calling a rainbow portal. It was where several rainbows they came, they came together, where they're coming not just across the sky from like you know, east to west and north-south, but from every direction. It was kind of like this massive set of them coming all together. I sent it to you guys, you guys get a chance to check that out.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it looked like a rainbow dome. It was incredible. Uh and when you look at it, at first you think, oh, this is AI or whatever, but um, it's uh it's a scientific phenomenon that's extremely rare, but it's beautiful. Uh it's and it just uh reaffirms how much God loves beauty that he would put that into the science of our of our globe so that uh so that we can see things like that every once in a while. It's really cool. I think it's a blessing. I I would love to have been on that boat when when you came across it. You know, that would have been so cool.

SPEAKER_07

Absolutely. J will you got a chance to see it? What'd you think? Yeah, it was super cool. It it was super funny to me because it almost looked like as somebody that's been doing math a lot for the past five years, it looks like one of those Desmos graphs that you see like a bunch of different functions going on, but they're all different rainbows. So to me, I was like, oh, this is super cool to look at. And I it almost is super crazy to think that a phenomenon like that is technically rarer than seeing something like an Aurora Borealis, which to me is like it in and of itself is like a crazy phenomenon that you can only really see during like one part of the year or something like that. But the fact that there's only a select group of people that will ever really see something like this is kind of just speaks volumes as to just the craziness of the occurrence happening, and the fact that it's caught on camera now obviously is always gonna raise speculation about the AI, but there's nothing like obtusely apparent about the video. That looks out of place or different or anything like that. So I definitely believe that it could be real, and it's super cool that they caught it on camera.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think it's real from what I understood it to be. And also it immediately made me think of double rainbow. I don't know if you guys remember that from the internet. There was a guy who caught a double rainbow in the sky, and he he's recording it, and he just starts, he's so overwhelmed by the double rainbow, he starts crying because it's beauty. And then like later, Shimoyo and these other guys they take and make it into a song.

SPEAKER_04

So it's like double rainbow all the way across the sky. My my oh my. It's so intense. And has his voiceover, he's like, it's so beautiful. He's like crying or whatever. It's pretty good, man. I was like, dude, we need a new song, you know. Yeah, you know, rainbow dome or whatever they're gonna call it, it's a portal.

SPEAKER_06

But uh, man, what a cool thing. It reminds us of the Genesis narrative of Noah, the promise from God showing the rainbow as a promise not to flood the earth again, and and that imagery, and it brings us right back into this conversation we've talked about before about how during Pride Month and the use of the rainbow flag identifying LGBTQ uh plus initiatives um within those groups, they've used that, continue to use that flag. And so a lot of sports teams will run things during what's been designated as Pride Month. And it's about some of the teams are doing it, some of the teams are not doing it in baseball, but some of the bigger teams are. And uh man, both players in San Francisco as well as in as in LA and all these bigger, bigger uh places that are participating, a lot of their players are taking and writing the Genesis scripture reference. We talked about Clayton Kershaw and others that have done it, and they're writing that on their hat right beside it. So as they're pitching, as they're catching, as they're fielding, they're seeing everyone's seeing the Genesis reference to the to the rainbow-colored version of whatever their team insignia is. So that's been pretty interesting. You guys got a chance to see that?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I I love that they're um that they're willing. It's just kind of a silent protest. Um, and I think that that's a a great thing to be able to stand up and just say, no, you know, I I understand what you're trying to take it as, but this is its real meaning. And um I really think that we should take back the rainbow.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I thought it was interesting because they oh I felt like they're overreaching MLB because um there are some teams that aren't participating at all, didn't make any statements about it, or not changing the colorway for their for their logo for for Pride Month. And you don't hear anything from MLB about that, but then now MLB is saying to these players, if you you know, warning them, saying if you don't stop doing this, you will be fined for it. Uh Jayvo, Rod Rob Schneider, the actor, the comedy actor, he says, Hey, I'll take care of all your fines. Did you get a chance to see that?

SPEAKER_07

No, I didn't see that, but that's that's super cool from him. It's just interesting to think about the fact that they make them kind of put it on, or for some of these organizations, like the players don't even get a say of whether or not they have to wear their jersey, they just have to wear it. Um, and to me, it's like almost interesting because the fact that they're banning a scripture that you can put on is really double-sided because if you think about if the MLB was like in support of everybody putting like a cross or putting like um a Muslim insignia of like a of the moon and the star on it, or even like if they wanted to put like a pentagram, obviously there would be backlash from something because you're in support of that thing. So if people were against that, then the MLB wouldn't really have any protests against it. But it's a fact that this is almost like a like social government colliding with sports, and now you essentially have to partake, or else you're like non-American and you're not supporting the overall agenda of like world peace and everything. So I think it's like a really um kind of double-sided standard that they the fact that they only care about this for that, but if they were to do it another way, nobody would really bat an eye. Um, so I I respect Rob Schneier for what he's doing, and then I also entirely respect the players that continue to do it despite the fact that they may get fined or whatever. Um, so yeah, I mean, I hope there's some sort of settling of that, whether or not it has to go to like a Supreme Court or something, that MOB will probably end up getting away with finding people, but still it's like it's definitely something to think about for a lot of sports fans.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's interesting to think about how how people would respond to it. Obviously, these players are not trying to get saying anything against the LGBTQ um community at all, and that's not really their their perspective. They're just trying to say, listen, I I see it for what for this other reason, and this is what I'm gonna be in support of. So it's not like they're trying to be an anti-thing, they're still wearing the hat, they're still wearing the thing and supporting the team because they're on the team. The team is wearing this jersey, okay. But here's here's my spin. And so I thought that was really interesting. You see in other sports, like uh I was thinking about soccer, I was thinking about uh basketball, how lots of players will write on their shoes or have custom shoes that actually have scripture verses on. I think about Steph Curry, I think about a bunch of people like that, where that this is what they're doing. They're writing it right on their on their stuff, and they don't get a fine for that. So I think it's a very interesting thing that they would make this decision. Uh, you know, within World Cup this year, uh as before every match, they would actually bring out the two flags for the countries, and that's this really big um this demonstration with these people on the field. It looks really nice with like the the FIFA uh centerpiece that's there and be playing kind of the intro music and all that kind of stuff. One of the things that's important for a lot of people of faith is that a lot of these countries, they they have like all the all the Nordic countries have crosses as their as their main as their main insignia for their stuff. So that's Norway, that's Denmark, that's Sweden. And the same thing for for people of Islam. So that's the same thing for Saudi. Saudi literally has their kind of the statement of faith in Arabic uh in the middle of their crest with swords, and so they were like, This flag cannot touch the ground. Like this is really important to us, making a big point about that. And of course, everybody, you know, went along and tried to honor their flag like you would honor any flag from any country. But I thought it was really interesting because you you know you see more of a neutral position there, and then you see this other thing within our culture, within our sports thing in America. So the Lord help us in trying to navigate these things. And we embrace his perspective. One of the things that we've seen that is a heartbreak for us is this plan and and process in Canada where they're allowing people to be killed and go to what what they call like um they're saying that it's like assisted suicide or that it's like some kind of an ingratiated death. Um, but it there's a lot of people talking about this, including the the pundits and political pundits like Tucker Carlson. Angus, did you get a chance to take a take a look at this?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the the MAID program where it's basically doctor-assisted suicide and um and you can um you can be you can allow yourself to be killed for any number of reasons. Um and now they're they're finding out that they're using uh that from these people who are who commit euthanasia, they're uh they're taking body parts and organs and selling those, the blood and and all of that. It's it's very satanic. It's it's horrible. Um and what I don't understand is how you know how as a free country the people are allowing this to happen. And and you know, it just it's mind-boggling.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, on the heels of them passing uh passing law against reading of certain scriptures and things like that, and then also being okay with this, it seems very it seems out of misalignment completely for your people. It's like, why would you be doing this and killing off your own population? Yeah. It seems insane. Javen, what's your take?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, yeah, it's pretty much the exact same thing that we're seeing in America with uh like Planned Parenthood and companies like that that are just doing it under the rug that news companies are like finally getting a hold of, but people have basically been knowing about for a while as far as like them selling things on the black market, and that's basically what the entirety of their of their backfunding is that they're not reporting, um, and why a bunch of like politicians and certain people are invested in it, which also should raise some eyebrows. And yeah, I mean, for Canada to be extremely open about it and for basically nobody to do anything kind of just speaks volumes as to where the country's headed. It's almost like Canada themselves are like a future of what America looks like, but like 10 or 15 years in the future. And if we don't get our act together now, we'll probably end up looking like that very soon.

SPEAKER_06

So yeah, I don't necessarily agree with Tucker's perspective that we should invade Canada on this marker. I mean, that's a that's an interesting take. I love America. I don't necessarily need think that we need to take over Canada. Um, uh, but you know, I wouldn't mind having part of Mexico because Rocket Point would be pretty great. Love Mexico, by the way. But uh, you know, it's like we start thinking from a patriotic perspective. But as far as that, man, it's heartbreaking, especially I think about you know, how many teenagers is a youth pastor, and so you've been a youth pastor, and how many teenagers do you know that go through some kind of depression or some kind of a difficult season? Well, man, that's not the end of the world. You know, like you're going through a hard time. You're you're pumped full of hormones and you get rejected or something's going on, you're trying to figure it out. You know, it it takes some of that. That's part of adulting, it's part of growing up, it's part of a normal thing.

SPEAKER_01

And they're allowing these people to go in and they're letting people who don't have fully formed brains, uh, you know, because their prefrontal cortex isn't formed, and they're allowing them to make these decisions that will prevent them from ever reaching that, from ever coming to a place where they they see that, you know, what this is not the end, uh, you know, just because you had a horrible breakup doesn't mean that it's time to end it all. You know, and uh I just wonder how long is Canada gonna be a country? Because if you if you start killing your own citizenry, um how long can you stand? You know, I I just don't understand how they're what the logic is behind this or what the what the uh thought process is behind it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, exactly. That it breaks my heart and makes me think that way. Jamin, but as you're thinking about it from a younger perspective, uh, you know, I mean, obviously you've had friends that have gone through some difficulties but been successful on the other side of those things. Uh, what's been your take? I mean, what if they would have chosen to gone this route?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I don't think most rational people would ever really choose to make that decision, but I understand like if you're really at a point where you're struggling financially, everything could just kind of seem like you're living for the fact just to make it to another day, but your life's almost a burden to you, whether or not you have like a condition, you have like chronic depression that stems from something in your childhood or stems from trauma, something like that. Obviously, that's a very difficult season to walk through. And for some people, it lasts a lot longer than other people. So they'll go through it for years and things like that. And especially within this generation, where a lot of what you tend to think about and a lot of what you tend to look for on social media is all that your algorithm really is. If you're just flooded with content that kind of reflects that negative outlook on life, then of course that's really going to be the only way you're thinking about moving forward. Right. And then it almost seems like living itself is a burden to you. So I understand the the thought process for why people reach that level. And it is especially common within young people, as you're talking about, that are going through those changes within life, especially within the social world that we live in now, which is like it's super hard to kind of find your identity in or find validation in that a lot of people are looking for nowadays. Um, so I mean I've I've had friends that have gone through like smaller seasons like that, but nothing really substantial in that way. Um, so uh the fact that Canada has kind of reached this state as a country is really sad. And the fact that they kind of view the fact that this is the answer for the upcoming generation and we're willing to fund this going forward is extremely sad. And I think once again, like if America doesn't look at this as a problem and kind of is doesn't really say anything about it and it it almost pushes towards uh making the same decisions as far as what we're allowing to have happen in our lawmaking abilities and calling it states' rights or national or government rights, whatever we want to say, then we'll pretty soon end up looking like Canada in the same way.

SPEAKER_06

That's a good point. You know, as uh as a person who myself I've lost a few friends to suicide. Um it it's heartbreaking to me because you know it's one of those things where uh it it it just you know, a lot of people they have a check and you know, even I even gone sl through seasons when I was young with thoughts of self-harm, things like that. Other friends of mine who they went through those season, we were able to encourage them, they didn't go through with it. I've had people in our own community of faith here that took those actions, God graciously saved them. Um but you know, thinking about the friends that I lost, in in each case of that, they did not let anyone around them know. They were very much like quiet and had all those things, were very quiet about that. They didn't show any of the normal signs of you know giving everything they have away, all the other things that like have been kind of some of those those markers where people are like, Wait, wait, wait, wait, what's going on? You know what I mean? Like, what's up? And so they literally cocooned and then made some decisions that that broke all of our hearts. And if any of us would have known, all of us would have stepped in and tried to do something. And so that's kind of where my heart goes, is that these people do know that they're dealing with something and they're willing to be like, Yeah, let me help you out with that. It's like, what are you doing, man?

SPEAKER_01

Well, not only that, but they're they're banning the hope of Jesus. You know, they're making it so that it's it's a crime to to publicly speak about you know and and reference scripture. And that's um, you know, in my experience, I've got some family members who committed suicide and and things like that. And so I know also it's it's horribly painful, but to know that um as a believer, that that is our hope. And and knowing that the Lord said, you will have times of trouble, there will be suffering, but it's not for no reason. And and he, if we allow him to, he'll use those times of suffering so that not only will he see us through it, but we can then minister to others who are going through that. And if you you ban that uh that ability to to share your story and and to share the good news, um I I just see this this uh stone rolling downhill faster and faster as time progresses because it's just gonna become a more and more hopeless society.

SPEAKER_06

That's such a good point, man. You know, we we're praying for Canada, we love Canada, we want them to thrive. And so praying for them that you know their lawmakers, their leaders would have the heart of Christ and be drawn to him. One of the things that's being released uh right now is uh a new movie called Disclosure Day. It's a new movie by Steven Spielberg, and it's very interesting because I don't know if this is an just like a uh some kind of tactic to try to get people to pay attention to it, like publicity, but he's saying that this new movie will make Christians rethink their beliefs. Javen, have you seen this? What do you what do you think about this?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I feel like this is another sign that's clear to say of kind of a lot of things that are happening. Um, it also kind of ties into some other things that we'll talk about here in the future. But like Spielberg, I mean, in his name, you can understand that he's a Jewish man. So obviously he's gonna have things that aren't aligned with an understanding of what scripture is, but especially somebody that has been so integrated within the top levels of society for so long, you would think that he has knowledge of something else that's going on, right? With a lot of what's been talking or of surfacing about like Project Blue Beam and certain things being funded, or like um even like the satanic agenda being uh revealed all the way back in like I think it was the late 1800s for how the next three world wars were gonna be set up and it essentially being exactly what's been happening within society, yeah. It almost makes you wonder if Spielberg is also connected or tied into these groups in some way, especially with the financial backing that he would have for producers and things like that that would be in support of him making a movie like this. So to me, it doesn't really or this kind of just solidifies the fact that there is a really firm line in the ground about what is being told and kind of what is being made to be manipulated to look like it's something else, especially with um like government and UFOs being released right now, all in a very strategic and timely manner. There's a lot of things that aren't really being told or are being manipulated to look like there's something else. And I think a lot of what's being done is that certain groups are being or almost infiltrating the the government or infiltrating media within that respective realm, and then just all tying it to look like one narrative so that when something else does end up happening in the future that's also orchestrated by them, then suddenly the world will have an answer for it that doesn't align with what the Bible says, it doesn't align with what Islam says, but instead is what the US government is telling you about.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I think it's very interesting. Um, you know, put on your tinfold hats, kids, because you know, as we talk about these things, it's the revelation that people are like saying, Oh, you know, we're gonna we're gonna bring all these pastors together and talk to them about this reveal of aliens that's gonna help, you know, it's gonna upset everyone's faith because they're saying the aliens are the ones that brought about this this seed of Christianity and about the concept that's there and the whole thing that's there. And so this essentially is aligning with that, which you have to make the movie and then produce it and shoot it, produce it, edit it, all the things. So I'm like, when did he do this? And then why is this other stuff coming out? Yeah, what is what's tied to that? Obviously, we know Spielberg Spielberg is connected to a lot of alien narratives, they're great movies, they're very entertaining, and you know, think of ET, think about like, you know, uh Indiana Jones and their alien narrative that happens in Peru or whatever. It's it's really interesting because it's like tying this stuff together where we're like, oh yeah, cool, you know, like science fiction, interesting, kind of you know, the future, whatever it is. And then it was like, no, no, no, no, no. This is all real.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I think that there are a lot of people out there looking for something to believe in and looking for uh just answers. And so a well-crafted, well um, well-produced narrative is something that people can get behind. I mean, we we see like when I remember when the Da Vinci Code came out, that was something that people all of a sudden started to think, well, Jesus had a wife and and all of these things that we know aren't scripturally accurate. Uh and there are people who now believe as a result of the matrix that you know that's what we are living in is the matrix. And uh, and so these these movies, they you know, they're made to entertain, but uh to some extent they're also made because uh Hollywood and uh and art it it controls culture, it it helps to guide culture where we're going. And so with these big uh blockbusters and things like that, it's gonna it's gonna start to steer. And if you've got uh the movie saying one thing and the news saying another, and and all of these uh these um realms of influence start to converge, people are who don't have a firm foundation, they're gonna go, oh well, because you know you start to believe what you hear the most. And um people I I don't remember what the the number is, but if you uh if you hear the same lie repeated X amount of times, you begin to believe it is truth. And so if you don't have the truth in your life to balance that against, I really I think that um you know that there will be people who start to to feel this way and believe this way. Um and so that's why it's important for us as Christians to be able to, I mean, I'll probably see the movie just to see what it's about, but I don't think that it's gonna change well, I know it's not gonna change my faith. Uh it's not gonna affect me in that way. I'll I'll enjoy it for its production value. Um, but I think that it's it's important that we have, you know, if you're if you're question or if you're questioning things or it's a little shaky in your faith, you know, you have to be really careful about what you watch and and what you take in because um you know there is a current to culture, and if you don't know how to paddle against it, you'll go with it.

SPEAKER_06

You're right on. I mean, the statistics recently from Barna, we were talking, you know, from inside baseball for the church world, meaning like talking about the inside workings of how things operate. You know, we're always trying to better connect with people so that they don't just accidentally fall out of community with us. You know, people get busy, start going other directions, and and so suddenly they, you know, they built a new habit doing something else. So we don't want them to feel feel like they're falling away out of the community, so we want to connect with them. They're saying one of the number one reasons that people quit right now is not because of that. It's not because of uh the kids' programs or the youth programs or the preaching or any of the things, the events we do. It's not the excellence by which we do stuff or lack thereof. No, it's because they stop believing the same way. And so it comes from things like this, to your point. It's because that message keeps getting banged on, that drum keeps getting hit. You know, oh, you can't trust it, you can't trust, you can't trust. And so if they can't trust, you know, AI, then they're not gonna trust the politicians, they're definitely not gonna and then it parallels to people that are talking about the word of God. And so I think that's the same concept that we see here. So the Lord help us, man, to be genuine, to be real, and to understand it's like, hey, let's share from from a real faith, not you don't believe because I believe, you believe because you've experienced God.

SPEAKER_01

See, and and the other thing too, living in this technical technological age, you have to be very intentional about what you go out and and consume because um, you know, the the people who feed you the information that you get, the entertainment that you receive, that's all based on algorithms. And all it takes is some people who decide they're gonna target a certain uh vein of society, a certain people group, and say, you know what, we're gonna start uh attacking them with this mindset or that. And you think you're making a choice, but really you're just being fed an algorithm that you know they're trying to sell you something, whether it's a product or an idea or an ideology. And so that's why we have to be intentional about reading our word and uh taking time to hear from from the Lord and all of those things, because if if we allow, you know, this thing here to feed us, that's right, it'll it'll take us where they want us to go.

SPEAKER_06

That's a hundred percent right. Absolutely. I think it's one of the things that's a challenge to us is to actually understand the people that are trying to influence us and why they're doing it. It brings us back to something that's kind of resurfaced recently, and I was gonna pull up the reference for it. It is something that we've seen with um the communist agenda from the Cold War. Now, communists are obviously not capitalists, so you know, definitely in the in the age of the 70s, 80s, everything kind of post-World War II, all the way through, but ramping up in those years through the 60s and then on forward, you know, all the things that we saw happen was very much like a fight between the USSR and and the USA, you know, the USA and kind of allies being those who are capitalists, the USSR being those who are communist. But they start talking about the communist agenda and talking about how to infiltrate and to change the society. And it's very interesting seeing how so many places, especially in Europe right now, but also in America, are experiencing this very thing. They said that the way you do that is you start you start taking out all the beauty of what's going on, you start to kill the culture of a place, you start to remove the infrastructure of family and the value of family, you start to make everything be vulgar and take away the morality of a place, you kill the family ties and the connectivity of a person to their family. I want to them all to be independent. And so they're kind of pushing against us even further. Whereas they're saying we're coming together as comrades. No, they're pushing against the idea of family to break that down. So the only option you have is that your family's now. The government and they're talking about ethics changing. Very interesting from that perspective. Javen, what was your take on that?

SPEAKER_07

I mean, I think there's a lot that goes into this just because of the history behind kind of how communism has come up and historically certain people groups that have been in support of communism, most no nota sorry, most notably um a lot of Jewish people that kind of run banks and institutions and things like that that are willing to push uh communist parties as well as communist agendas within their respective countries that they kind of oversee and control. So it is interesting because Marxism or Marx himself was a Jewish person about whether or not this all kind of connects to what we were talking about earlier, as far as like an overall agenda in order to kind of get everybody to believe in like a one-world religion or just disestablish religion entirely, which is something that we've seen communism kind of historically do, especially within like the USSR and things like that. Um, and within uh Marx's actual like alignment of the communist manifesto and like what the breakdown of it would be as far as just kind of getting everybody on one page, but also breaking down the thought process that anybody has behind or besides just being of the influence that's there on and what it worked, what they're trying to work in the very end of it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, basically it's interesting because if you start to see anybody who's had any kind of growing up underneath that idea, a perfect example of that is Arnold Schwarzenegger. When he came out of Austria, Austria having the influence r back then over that under that kind of control, even though they they were more technically Western, the way he grew up underneath that era of that stuff, man, it changed everything. He's like, No, I'm anti that. Any anytime that anybody brought anything that had to do with that, he's like, You didn't live this. You don't understand what you're saying. You think it's a good idea, it's like a utopian idea. It's not how it works. Yeah, and a lot of people that support it are kind of it's more theoretical. They don't really want it for them, they want it for others. No. And so it's never been about, oh, you know, we want to do this for the other people. It's like, well, you're an elite already. You know, you're going to Berkeley, you're going to this place, you're going to that place. And so it doesn't really, it doesn't really work. And the agenda is starts to take away the incentive of a person to work hard. Now we know that we can decide collectively to go and to be a part of something. That's what we see the early church doing. They collectively decided to do those things. Nobody forced them to do it. That's why the story of Ananias' Safari is so important because they lied to the leaders of the church saying, Oh, we sold everything we had to give this money. No, they didn't. They sold the property, kept some of it back, and then gave some. If they would just said we gave some money to the church, people were like, Great, thank you. But they didn't do that. They were trying to get clout saying, Oh, we sold everything while they were actually keeping it back. And that's why the situation happened with them. You have to have people who have means been able to give them. Without it, how do you ever get there? So that's why I think it's such an interesting thing. We're called to be people who do well in business, who do well in in helping others, but it's not compulsory. It's from our heart. And that's why missions works the way it does with us, where we, you know, no one's forcing you to give your tithe, no one's forcing you to give this to missions. No, you do it out of your heart to God, out of uh out of being in covenant with him, and then trusting him and wanting other people to know the hope of Jesus.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

Huge difference.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's an incredible lie though, because I mean, it's sold as this is good for the people, it's good for the common man, but really it's good for the people who are above and and all of that. And you see that in control. Yeah, it's control, and you see that across all of these other countries. You see North Korea um and uh Venezuela and Cuba and all of these other places that uh it doesn't work. But you know, it's funny when it comes here because Americans are so arrogant, they go, well, but we can make it work, you know. But but it really is about control, and it it's it's proven out in the necessity to break down these other things so that you can control. Um, and uh because you can't uh you can't have strong family units. This is one of the big things. You can't have strong family units and communism, you know, and so you have to pit one against another and and all of these things. And while we're at the common man fighting each other, fighting ourselves, the ones who are in control, the elites, they then get to dictate that because they're not they're not gonna live the same life as the common man, you know, and so it just it creates this bigger divide, you know, than we than we see in in other societies that are capitalist and and variations thereof.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's so true. And it's one of those things that we have to be paying attention to. You know, I think about how how much uh China has developed in the recent years in the last three decades, and a lot of that was their shift to embrace capitalistic uh ideology, and that man, their people just ran with it. Really smart, very in in you know, having ingenuity and trying to create new things and new concepts and new new items. Um, and and there's something about that and that they embraced it now. They did it in part, so they're kind of a very like pseudo, either both of them. Uh so there's still obviously uh some control apparatuses that I think our government would love to have. Yeah, that does have, but we're thankful that we were, you know, we have some freedom. Um, but it is one of those things that you see that that's when they started to thrive, that's when they started to really do well, and that's whenever they you see their GDP like exploded and their influence exploded in the world because they embrace these ideas. If you work hard, there's a reward for that, and then you can actually see something happen. It's not that you're not wanting to care for others. That's why I think you know the concept of having a balance between a capitalistic society, but also with social programs the way we do with like fire and police and roads and you know, school and all the other things through taxes. But the idea is that it has to be the right balance. And whenever it starts to go leverage too far the other way, that's how you have such a big pullback within our culture because we value freedom and the choice a lot. And I think that's with people as they're coming to the World Cup, they're embracing that. They're like, man, look how big how big these places are, look how crazy this place is, look how much you get on a plate for food, look how much it's it's an abundance of everything. And the abundance that's so radical is because we've had this opportunity to work this way. Now the Lord help us, we don't want to hurt other people because we're making a buck off of them. I think that's where we've gone with medical in some places, that's where we've gone with other ideas. But the Lord help us, man, to to navigate those things well. We want to do things as unto God and and do them that way. Now we're not trying to make a buck off every person or anything like that in the businesses we run or own or any of those kind of things, but we do need to be those that are working well and working hard and doing as unto the Lord. So Jim, what do you think in your culture in in your in your uh generation? The culture has kind of been interesting. It's been kind of embracing both ends of that. What's what's your take?

SPEAKER_07

What's been interesting because I was just thinking about this kind of holistically, is the fact that communism sort of reduces everybody to just entirely being bought in for a utilitarian standpoint, and almost in some way, yes, it reinforces the the idea that your country is like collectively put towards producing something so that everybody benefits, but at the same time, it completely minimizes your individualism and also kind of reduces your humanity in some sense, because like the fact that people have differences and are good at one thing or good at the other is almost just completely not if everybody's meant to be bought into a system and perform like one function, and that's the entirety, entire purpose of their life. So even looking at that lens through some of the other things we've been talking about, like the fact that if you yourself don't feel like you're a value to society, you can completely scratch yourself off the face of the earth in Canada, or like the fact that institutionally we're supporting things like Planned Parenthood within the United States is all kind of contributing towards that. If you're um if you have a child that you think is gonna have like a deficit and or maybe have like Down syndrome or something that would be uh what society views as like a hindrance to their capability, then you would have the ability to essentially put them down if you wanted to. And that's so sad because it's like you see what the Soviets were talking about so long ago, or what early Marxists were talking about as far as uh reducing mankind and performing a function. Right. And then that's almost seemingly what a lot of the laws that have been passed in these so-called libertarian countries that are doing it for the good of everybody and making a choice, but in reality, it's giving you a narrower pathway to work towards one global function, and that's to do whatever the people at the top tell you to do.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's scary whenever all the elites keep copying and see saying there's too many people, there's too many people, there's too many people. I'm like, you know, there we there's a lot of the world. We've had a chance to travel a pretty good amount of it and see a lot of interesting things. We've been in lots of Soviet ex-Soviet countries, we've been in all sorts of places. Thanks be to God, have the opportunity to do that. I mean, I see the same shambles in the back end of all those uh post-Soviet countries. They have to kind of build them their way out of it really hard. Um, it takes a lot, and usually it's a pretty violent change that starts to happen in a lot of these places. I think about, you know, like Serbia and Albania and all those that block and that's in that corner that still kind of pops off from time to time. You think about as your examples, Venezuela having everything as far as like all the resources in the world. I think about DRC, all the resources in the world, and they're locked in underneath this other this other agenda. And so it's it's not helping the people, it's actually the other way. It's treating the people as the asset and they work them into the ground the way that you know, early on, which is a blight on our own our own history that we did with slavery, the same same kind of concept. And so, man, what a terrible thing to embrace. And it's sad that you know someone has come up with this idea and marketed to these young people that it's the way forward. And I'm like, man, nothing about this is what you really want. Yeah, and so the Lord help us to navigate that as people who are both living for Christ, but also living with an understanding of how we should live with others.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and this whole idea of overpopulation and and the fact that the world can't support mankind is so anti-God because I mean He created it, He told us to go and fill it, right? You know, and um and sure there's a lot of the really good places that are taken up and all that, and there's a lot of places that are not very inhabitable. However, um necessity is the mother of all invention, right? And so we we've also in these last uh this last decade, we've seen such an explosion of innovation and um and to to start killing off potential innovators and to reduce the need for further innovation, you know. I mean, seeing these gardens that are being grown in containers underground and and things like that, there are so many new uh technologies and things that are coming out that make it possible to inhabit those places that they've said are inha uninhabitable. You know, and um it's just it's a demonic idea to to say that God created something that he can't sustain. Right, you know, and so um that's one area that I wish people would just stop and think for a little bit before they swallow that hook and go, oh yeah, that's you know, let's let's support this agenda and things like that. Um it's it because it doesn't lead anywhere good.

SPEAKER_06

No, that's right. Yeah, the Lord help us. And like I said, we want to reiterate, man, we want to care for people. We obviously we do that all the time through Mercy House and giving food and clothing to those in need. And so it's not that we don't have a compassionate heart, we do quite the opposite. You know, um, Angus, you give up every month Monday to go get food and and to help that process, our team is there, you know, throughout the week and helping people and giving that food out on the weekends as well. And so, man, that that is our heart that we want to help people where they're at at the same time. It doesn't mean to be something where we're like, hey, you have to do this because we said so. And so the Lord help us in navigating those things. Yeah, one of the things that we've also seen is this cont an in times conversation as we've seen the proliferation of talks about aliens and about all sorts of different things. We are seeing a real big push in the end times conversation, which makes sense. We see wars happening again in the Middle East and continuing to pop off. You see escalation and in some of these things, people see AI and technology as a thread of that, a possible understanding of the beast. And so, really interesting conversation that happened on Josh Howerton's podcast with John Bere as they started to talk about the end times, and it's specific specifically with Iran and the end times perspective of uh people that are in Islam in the idea that there's a parallel but a very different narrative than what we would expand in the Bible and scripture that we embrace is that what they have. Jabin, you had a chance to check this out and talk through this?

SPEAKER_07

A little bit. I know I've I think I've read through the end times on the day of judgment, and it almost looks very similar to what happens in Revelation, but the entire end of its change as far as like what judgment looks like, and the fact that uh according to Islam, Christ comes back almost as a witness to testify to the goodness of God and the fact that there is only one God and He Himself is not God in some convoluted way, and then everybody's thus given a process for judgment, and either you go to Jannah or you go to hell after all that's said and done. But in the same apocalyptic way, it pretty much mirrors what the Christian understanding of Revelation would be as far as like a trial of end times, the fact that the entire earth itself essentially like kills itself over and everything's like a wasteland, and then there's a re-establishment of a kingdom within that way. Yeah, um, so it is interesting, like it the parallels, but obviously, like it's not the same. No, obviously.

SPEAKER_06

The narratives are different, who the people are is completely different. Yeah, you know, the focus of people repenting and all of a sudden is not an agenda, it's not a thing because that that's not possible within their faith context. So it's very interesting how they would embrace it and be like, Yeah, we're cool, we're cool with totally running it to the end of the ground, yeah, and just nuking everybody. You're like, Great.

SPEAKER_01

Great. We feel warm about that, Angus.

SPEAKER_02

What's your take, man?

SPEAKER_01

Um, I I kind of thought of it almost like a two-way mirror. You've got uh you've got um one the Christians on one side looking at this mirror, and then you've got Iran on the other side looking at the same mirror at the same events that are going on, but believing at it from a different way. So, I mean, they talk about um, you know, the the one who's gonna come on a white horse and and all of these things, and we see that, you know, we see the things from Revelation as as something that's not positive and um but will usher in Christ and his return and his reign and which is our hope. Uh it's not something that you're like, yay, let's do it, you know. Um, but they're looking at the same thing from the other side, going, yay, let's do it.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

And uh, and that's just a you know, that's something that we have to be aware of. And, you know, this is what their kind of their point is, is that you know, they're not afraid to get bombed, and they're not afraid because they know that this war, these wars and and all of that stuff will usher in their end times and what they say, and that's what we see from the other side going, yeah, we don't want to, Lord, let the rapture be something that you know uh that we can be caught up in and don't have to necessarily go through it, but they're seeing the same thing just from a different point of view.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, and it's it is a little bit frightening whenever you start to think about now. We have lots of friends who are are Muslim and are peaceful and loving and all the other things, but the the thought process and their actual beliefs, if you run it all the way down, do embrace the stuff that we're talking about. In the same way, it's like you know, we have people who they think all sorts of stuff in Christendom about the end times and they believe differently than we do from their perspective. Some of them there's like it's no hope we're all gonna be we're all have to go through severe suffering and everything's gonna be terrible. Some others believe in a rapture that's kind of pre-tribulation or pre those times that we would be more in alignment with that pre-trib, others are more mid-trib. Um, I think that it's hard because as we talk about, I think that's more of a global perspective that every Christian would be going through something in a difficulty that would be real tribulation. It's hard because you know, our brothers and sisters in Christ and other places across the world, they've been suffering for a long time and for generations, and even you know, we know whole things. That's the Fox's books of martyrs, all those people that went through that. Some people would be like, this is the time, this is when we're coming through tribulation, and still the grace of God, so others can embrace them. So it's a balance of both of those things. But it's interesting to hear these guys talking about it, specifically because John Brevere is such a you know, such a very um a deep thinker in Christendom, you know, you have bait of Satan, you have all these really good uh armor bearer, some other really deep concepts about what it is in our walk with Christ and our spirituality. And talking with Josh, who's a practitioner as a pastor and of a very large church and very much willing to talk about difficult subjects. It is very interesting to see it from that perspective at the end times, and they're talking about, you know, come Lord Jesus, uh, because these other guys are willing to put it all and nuke everybody so that they can have their agenda happen. So we're like asking the Lord for his peace and for cooler heads to prevail. Uh, you know, it's my heart, man. We've we've had a lot of friends who are Iranian. We ourselves even using an app from our Iranian Christian brothers and sisters and the idea of Saflar. Um but man, what a cool thing to have friends that are across the world in these other places. Obviously, they don't agree with their government, much like we don't agree with our government from time to time. And so they're we're praying with them for change in their culture and their society, that they would be liberated from those kind of things. One of the things that we also see in spirituality is this idea of DMT. DMT is a psychedelic that people take and they start to have these what they call journeys. And the commonality with those who've taken a lot of DMT, not microdosing or something like that, is that they have this kind of an epiphany, they have this realization that they actually go to a physical place, like spiritually speaking, outside of themselves, that they go to this place and they'll call they call it kind of collectively hyperspace. And in this hyperspace spiritual region or realm, they talk about meeting these beings. Almost everyone that's been in the same narrative describes the same beings and the same kind of situation. It's very psychedelic, it's very, you know, colorful and all these other things. It's how we would think from our Christian Christianity perspective, kind of of of what the spirit realm might look like. But in all these places, one of the things that recently was coming out on a podcast was the conversation that you can get kicked out of your DMT hyperspace and no longer allowed to go on the journey. I thought that was really strange.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Uh I've been trying to figure because I have never had experience with DMT or anything like that, but uh my understanding is it's like if we were all to go to sleep right now and have a dream, we would all meet in the dream space. Right. Uh and that's kind of what this hyperspace area is like. And so it would be like us going to sleep and meeting having the same dream about the same beings at the same time. Right. And that's kind of a crazy concept because that's not necessarily in the drug world and in all of that, people trip differently and you see different things and all of that. So it's really interesting that that's what uh people who've been to this space, they all describe the same thing or similar things, uh, but it's also just uh so I mean there there's gotta be something to it because they're they're all experiencing the same thing. Um and but then to be kicked out of that space and not be allowed and uh to have these entities and beings say you can no longer access this, you can't go any further. Uh that's that's wild. It's almost like Narnia. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You know, you're no longer allowed to come back.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you you've been here six times, seven times, and so you can't, you know, you've you've progressed as far as you can. It's it's bizarre, it's really weird uh for me to think. I'm I'm still trying to wrap my head around like what is that and what is it uh what does that implicate, you know?

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, it's very interesting because they said it didn't matter the amount you would take even after that. But if if these beings told you you can't come back, then you don't go back. Like you're just not able to go back to that thing. Javen, what's your take? What's your interest uh what's your perspective on this?

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, I mean that's kind of wild. Like I I know the fact that a lot of people essentially use the MT to like see God, or that's like something that they have an idea to do, or like see some spiritual realm beyond themselves. But I didn't know like what Angus was talking about, where if all three of us did it, that we would inevitably meet in the same space. I think or have a similar journey meeting the same person, but even within that, I think there's something to be said for the fact that it's almost like there really is an implication outside of oneself that you are doing something that is physically happening, it's not like a dream that we're having, but rather like a revelation of something. And it's interesting. I I'm not fully familiar with like the chemistry behind DMT or what it necessarily does to your brain, but the fact that you would like almost fine-tune yourself to be able to see everything like that is pretty, pretty bizarre. And the fact that there is like a spiritual implication to the fact that if they themselves who have power to tell you that you're not able to come back, tell you that, then you yourself are not able to come back, whether that be angels or demons or whatever the description of it might be. It is very interesting. And like other people responding in the comments of the same video being like, Yeah, I've had an experience where I I myself have like taken it and I'm in my room and I see like a figure that's walking, and then the figure looks back at me and he's like, You're not supposed to be able to see me. And then I just like wake back up out of the DMT. Yep, and then I try to go back and then can't do it. Can't go. It's pretty bizarre.

SPEAKER_06

It seems like the spirit realm to me, you know, especially in we've had a number of people. I personally haven't seen it from this direction, but have a number of people that have explained and and explained to us like how they've been able to see into the spirit realm. Man, it kind of gives me goosebumps thinking about it. Yeah, but how they've been able to see into the spirit realm and Lord is like open their eyes to see spiritual things that are going on, kind of fighting between good and negative spiritual beings, all sorts of things that are happening. And there was something to that that I'm like, wow, that's there's something real there. And we've seen many times and had to deal with it quite a bit, uh, especially um in years past, where people through a lot of drugs, especially psychedelic drugs, or or things that would really take them into like a comatose state, would open themselves up spiritually to negative uh spiritual beings and become demon-oppressed, but you know, become demon-possessed, and and then have to have liberation from that spiritually and praying for for them to be freed of that, much like we see in the scripture with Christ. And so we've we've lived that, we've experienced that, we've prayed for people, seen them be free. Um, and that's a r that's a can be a very frightening situation, especially as you're dealing with those things, because that is a very real thing. So, you know, also I haven't done DMT, and so I don't have any context to this, thanks be to God. But it is one of those things where uh because choices I made in my past and things that I have done, I can understand some of what they're talking about, and I'm like, man, that it would be real frightening to suddenly open your eyes and open open your your perspective to this thing. You think you're going on a journey, a trip, or whatever, and then the beings that are there are like, no, no, no, no, no. You know, which means that there's something to this, there's something that's serious about the spiritual realm and opening yourself up with these uh chemicals.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and I've seen some I I've listened to some podcasts of people who are in the Christian space that when they were searching for God, they, you know, um they would take some of these psychedelics and and those kinds of things. Ayahuasca and uh and Ibogay and you know all these other ones. Yeah. And um and they they thought it would help them, but what what they ultimately come to find out in this journey is that it's a counterfeit walk. You know, it's it's like taking a shortcut to God. And on that shortcut you can be hijacked. And so when you when you open yourself up, it's just like if you know if you were to open to move your house to the middle of downtown Phoenix and open up all the doors and then not, you know, you don't expect somebody to everybody to stay out. You know and so that's kind of what it is especially for us as Christians because we look different in the spirit realm. And so when we come into those spaces that we're not supposed to be, we have a an even bigger target. And so you know so people who uh are Christians they uh they see maybe some friends who are not believers who are doing this and they don't you know they have a good time and they don't see the consequences and all of that because um you know they're already headed in the direction that the enemy wants them to go. But when when a Christian comes into that space the enemy goes ah there's there's a one of the targets. Right. You know and so that's something that I think that is really important for us as believers to understand that as you hear some of these other things it I mean it sounds cool to be able to see these things and all that. You know and I I had experience with some psychedelics early on and uh it's one of those things that man I I'm glad that I made it through and uh and that that's not a part of my story anymore or part of my current story because um you know it it's one of those things that they may but you may not especially as a believer because you've got a much larger target on your back.

SPEAKER_06

That's true. You know I think about you know all the eras of people around that I knew were doing MDMA and Molly and you know there's there's I would say drops all all the serotonin into your body does all these things that really mean you you feel warm, you feel love you feel all the excitement of that stuff and then drops out of your body and you feel like you know like you're gonna go and and you you feel depressed. And so these people would go and do these things they would drop acid they would would go do you know you hear people talking about oh I did peyote I was I had a spiritual guide. There's your first red flag friend is that a Christ follower doesn't need a spirit guide into anything else because that's a spirit that's not of God. So if you're guiding someone towards these things that's part of the problem. Let me see that with our native friends talking about people in their community that would use peyote they would use these other things to have this experience very similar to what we're explaining with DMT very similar to what you hear with awaska or as you said other parts of these different things and to me it it's one of these things where I'm saying Lord you know help us to stay away from that stuff. We don't want to open up any door spiritually that would would have an effect on us and I understand the escapism I understand the the interest in in trying to find like a new space you know Jamin's kind of talking to it from that perspective saying like there's a lot of like intrigue especially as it's got popular on podcasts and some of these bigger names are like oh I tried it. You know it's like okay well great you know don't open up the whole world to the spirit realm in a negative way so you know the Lord help us to navigate these in the right way. One of the things we talk about is creativity in uh SpaceX just went through their IPO and became a publicly traded company it made uh because of the investment and people buying into the stock it made Elon Musk the first public trillionaire with a T which is a crazy number uh and it made even blue collar workers at SpaceX who had stock options made them millionaires. So you have welders and cleaners and security and cafeteria workers that are now millionaires because they worked at SpaceX cleaning the toilets.

SPEAKER_07

How do you think about that J it's great for anybody that essentially was bought in um if you're like a blue collar worker even somebody that was just like a a service worker or somebody over there it's it's great for you the fact that um kind of just your your service to something is paid off exponentially more so than it ever could for like a whole duration of decades of your life if you were doing the same job over and over you still wouldn't amass the same amount of money in that way. So it's great for them. I mean at the same time it also kind of makes us think like we we are celebrating the fact that we do have the world's first trillionaire but at the same time it's like the fact that he's so hyper focused on on like doing something outside of himself or like continuing to up the scale but doesn't really look towards anything else that's going on in the world and he's so so like in his own lane about everything is kind of concerning and the fact that like we're almost giving him authorization to do it by the fact that like our government doesn't really care as far as taxation for anything that he does and we're still not like taxing billionaires in the same way and we're just kind of letting them get off because of the way that their stock options look the way that their wage isn't technically paid as an actual wage but rather an assets and things like that. Sure. I mean it it does raise a lot of questions. At the end of the day he got there by making extremely smart investments and doing things the correct way as far as like risking correct way but he risk it. Yeah you get what I mean as far as like actually going out there putting idea and putting the work into doing something especially himself like he had a bunch of sleepless nights but I yeah I mean it does raise a lot of questions as far as like corporate America about what this is going to look like going forward if this is like more celebrated behavior by the masses than it is like questionable.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah it's interesting because I don't see it from the negative side on the tack on on how them making money and being a billionaire. Obviously he's not a liquid billionaire or liquid trillionaire in this way and I wouldn't say he's the first either I'd say he's the first public one meaning that we have a lot of families that out there have all sorts of wealth and all sorts of businesses and so you know there there are a lot of people I think that would be on that list that don't want anyone to know they're on that list that are trillionaires including royal families and all sorts of other people that uh have been had wealth for a very very long time. And so I think that that's part of it. One, two, that you know he can't touch the money that's in this IPO for a certain amount of time. So he can't sell stock he can't do those things and so it's tied directly to his ownership in these businesses. A lot of these these guys they operate you know out of debt. They don't they don't operate out of cash flow. So though they make tons of money they're not actually taking that money as a salary to themselves. They'll take it as a stock option they'll they'll take a loan against their stock options or against their stock and it'll be a thing where they operate you know and the things that they buy and all those stuff. But they're not paying any taxes because they didn't make any money, you know, air quotes make they made money into their business they didn't realize those those returns so therefore they can't be taxed. So it goes into it they take it against themselves and then they just roll that money forward. He did that even when they when he did sell something big like PayPal he made like a big big deal and so I got gauge is not able to come and be with us right. Um you know what but what he started they start to do is roll that forward. And so he took his money from that and actually invested it. I know whenever they did the split from some of the things he did whenever he got paid out of PayPal and some of those original you know X dot com and all the other things that he did before he renamed Twitter X and all that other stuff he took a big chunk of it with Tesla later invested you know in SpaceX later invested the boring company later invested in what he's doing with the mine stuff and in in all these different areas he's running 90 miles an hour to your point liter literally living at the at the places like living in his office on the ground you know like kind of stuff and so it's very interesting to see like the hard work side but at the same time it's a bit frightening because it's like you know yeah he's not focused on anything that's has to do with here he's he his he's convinced that it's all going to go down and that we need to get off this rock and make sure that we're somewhere else so it is very interesting um why he's so like obsessed and focused in this way but you know thanks be to God that you have some some people that are working and doing something that's you know some has some interest in that way.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah I think it's it's really easy to demonize those people who have just incomprehensible amount of money. Right. Um but what I I really think you know I mean there's a few thoughts that I have on this I think that uh first we should be praying for him that he gets a h you know that God gets a hold of his heart and then he then understand truly understands what it looks like to build the kingdom. Right. You know I mean I would love to see a tithe off of his uh of his IPO yeah you see a tithe off of his today would be a game changer absolutely you go you'd go and pay nine million dollars for a piece of property in Gilbert 100% you buy Gilbert old Gilbert but I mean also like for these uh for these people who are who've been working like Javen was saying in the service portion of of this industry you know it really just shows that um things that you don't expect can come from from serving and serving well yeah you know and so I pray for also all of these future millionaires and and billionaires that come from this and uh and I just I pray that the Lord would get a hold of them because you know ultimately we know that uh all this wealth it's it's vapor you know and it it'll only serve so much uh purpose in your own life um but just because you have all of this money does not mean you now have a full life and uh and that you've got a life worth uh worth fulfilling and living and and all of that stuff. And so I I really think that this is an opportunity. It's just one of those things that that we as the church should be praying for those who have means um as well as those who don't but um but in this case praying for those who have means so that they can come to an understanding and be able to help build the kingdom and and let those riches go towards something that is just that's outside of themselves that's outside of uh that's even further beyond just benevolence and um and philanthropy you know because we've got some philanthropist philanthropist billionaires that are doing some incredible harm to our to our earth and so so this money really needs Jesus is what I what I think it all boils down to is this money just needs Jesus and needs to be able to be pointed in the right direction.

SPEAKER_06

I love that I I agree I think that's the same heart that I have I pray often for uh world leaders for these people of means and for the you know these titans of industry because they can guide so many uh people in the right way or in the wrong way. You know I think about all the people that run social media platforms, their guidance and and what they do with how they push what narrative, who they you know who they um they put like a ghost ban on and or whatever's happening, they can really dictate what message goes through. So I think about them and I think about these guys that are building these technology for the future and it has everything to do with what they what their intent is. You know are they malcontent or are they you know in in what's their what's their uh perspective on it so the Lord help us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah and especially when you look specifically at the scripture where it says it's how hard it is for a rich man to get into heaven. Exactly you know and so like that's great that they've got all this money and and they have the potential for all this money but at the at at the stop of their heartbeat still need to say what is what does the rest of eternity look like for them. And so um now is the time to be praying for them uh and their their resources that they can be able to to use that and come into relationship with Christ um and and do something with it.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah amen uh one of the things that we see that's kind of a connection to the creativity that's out there is more of these drones that are being built up. We've talked about all sorts of uses for drones and how people have been using them uh here in what in Metro Phoenix we've had amazon drones for a long time we now have zipline drones that are running around and delivering food. I see people using them in different places and we've seen them uh different different uh uses for them I saw uh a a woman who she was talking about vlogged her day about how what she does as a drone pilot and how she goes from place to place and how she maps people out and she'll do videos or she'll do different things that she's doing very very interesting we've seen how it's been used in our in uh agriculture as well one of the things that we see coming out of China is this new swarms of drones that are AI drones so it's not it's not piloted by people it's piloted by AI but actually work as a swarm. That's a very interesting idea.

SPEAKER_07

Jamie would you think I mean that's that dude that's terrifying we're essentially making like autonomous little objects and if you weaponize those things whatsoever as far as like make them hunt down people or even give them like a a small laser small gun or something like that dude there is no limit to where people can find you as long as they have enough surveillance or enough control on you. So if they end up implementing implementing stuff like that in the US it would be it'd be terrifying like if they combine like that with someone like Flock or whatever they would literally just have tabs on you 247. Which to me if AI kind of goes towards that way this is so funny to me because it's like everybody's kind of embracing AI in this way or really against AI and this kind of affirms what we were talking about last week with um with Elon's warning against it. He's like if we fully embrace this by the time it's 2027 it's basically game over as far as trying to get it out of our lives. And yeah this is kind of further proof as far as like I mean we've known that we've been controlled essentially by technology as far as what the government has on us but now like literally there is no limit to what access to information they have anymore. So it's pretty pretty bizarre.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah it's interesting to see that they can create this and I do think it's really creative. I think it's pretty interesting to see how they can emulate nature. Angus you and I were talking about a little like swarms of locust swarms of birds and like the how I mean it's I mean it's beautiful to watch them move together. It's very surreal.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah it was really cool to see the video of it and I mean it it looks like something out of a movie to just see all of these these AI things. And so we were talking uh before just about like what does that AI look like and if it was modeled after what we see in nature because I had seen this uh this documentary on the it was kind of like the science of nature sort of thing or the math of nature. Right. And you know when you see those incredible swarms of birds that are flying all over it's not that each you know you don't see those birds running into each other and all of this but um but what they said is that one bird only has to pay attention to the seven birds around it in order to not uh hit it and that's why it looks the way it does is because they're just paying attention to the seven birds around them. So I'm curious what that looks like um but also all you have to do is I mean the the flock of birds they don't have a program that's telling them all where to go at one time. And you know you can't necessarily target a people group or anything like that. And so that's what I think is troublesome for something like this is um you know it's only as good as the program or the person who's behind it and as long as we stay in control of the AI because once it becomes uh once it decides it doesn't want to be shut down or that you know it it'll just go after the people who are running the switches. Yeah and then it gets to do whatever it wants and uh there's plenty of movies that that kind of talk about this subject.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah I would not be excited about like because the the swarms they're showing are are hundreds of drones if not thousands. And could you imagine a drone of tens of thousands of drones that's flying around and now it has no boss. So that's great. One of the things we'll be talking about with creativity is how we are slowly being replaced through AI, which is a little bit terrifying. We talked about this before especially with robotics about how these humanoid robots are being trained on this concept of having to learn from people who actually do it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_06

So there are Indian workers who have been seen actually wearing headsets that record everything they're doing. So not just the GoPros we talked about before but they're actually wearing a headset from a certain perspective that would mimic what the uh what the humanoid robots would actually wear and actually using kind of clamp style hands to do tasks to mirror what a robot would actually do.

SPEAKER_07

Do you guys get a chance to see this what do you think Javin honestly like this is I I have a feeling that the process for actually getting this to translate for the robots to be able to do it is going to be extremely short. I'd be extremely interested to see if they try to get like um Mexican construction workers to do something like this where they're so good at what they do naturally or like even other tradesmen that are like plumbers or electricians that are that will do things that like only a human mind could comprehensibly understand like the human intuition and do rather than it being like a system of numbers and like extreme precision that a robot would have. So I I'd be interested to see how long it would take before kind of like with what Gage is talking about how they they're supposed to have the software that goes in and like analyzes everything they need to put in right according to like what mathematically should be the best layout but it almost never works because of all like the flaws in terms of measurements and the the human error that goes into constructing something. So to me this is like it makes complete sense that they're doing this and I have a feeling like certain jobs that are extremely easy to do that don't really require a lot of like skill or training to do will quickly be replaced um as soon as people get the funding and like the ability to do this. Whereas kind of what we talked about before with gauges here like trades and things like that will be a lot harder to do just because of how many intangibles and things like that go into them.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah that's a good point. And it's very interesting to think about it from that perspective because of how hard it is to do some of that work. The ones it doing right now is a lot of household stuff because it makes sense. I mean we talked about this you know ourselves and not having gauge here you know gauge is is our is our sound advice of no no thank you is the sound advice of you know cassius in our head yeah telling him no thank you.

SPEAKER_01

Uh you know the other side of me I think it's because I'm I've always kind of been a tech head kind of a you know uh early adopter of a lot of these things man a piece of me is like that'd be sweet dude I mean I would go you know instead of buying a fancier car I'd go with like a a more normal car a more you know uh economical car in order to get a robot to do a bunch of tasks for me like that would free up way more hours of my life at the same time then you got a robot running around your spot yeah right well and and taking jobs and all of those things and but I think you know we may have the the first world countries that are more resistant to it because they see that but or or like Gage's position that uh you know that they'll never be able to be replaced. However if you have these uh these things are being learned in a place where you know these workers are being paid two dollars a day yeah so the the return on investment for these companies all you have to do is go to the right places to be able to train them you know and now there's with all of the advances that are even happening in the mechanics you know they I just recently saw the the AI muscle that they're making and so it's it's fibers that are controlled via um electricity and um and uh liquid you know various kind of solenoids that trigger it to make it flex and things so so they're making these robots eventually will look like mechanical humans is because of the uh because of the muscle structure and and everything that they have and they'll be able to do everything that we can. So the only thing that'll be missing is the real world application. And if you're paying uh you know two dollars a day for or two dollars an hour I think what it is I I can't remember what it is but um still you're right for around the world there are people making two dollars a day for sure they are and and so for them to be able to train and and do that stuff now they may not work at the same capacity or uh um or at the same level of of competency. I mean like you look at some other places of the world the electricity uh and the way they run wires and stuff is absolutely wouldn't fly here in America. For sure but at a certain point you know they once they have the knowledge they we've seen how much it it how quickly the um technology can advance and grow and all of that. So I don't see it being a real far uh step once once we've already trained them how to do and given them the the structures uh to be able to do it because now um this machinery is starting to look more like biological humans inside and um it's it's wild to see. Again, I would love to have a robot so I didn't have to sweep my house and do dishes and all of that. But at the same time then what are my kids going to do? You know and and then we end up like the humans in Wally where where we're just floating around on chairs because we don't have to do anything for ourselves. So there is a positive but there's also a very dark side to to all of that.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah that's an interesting trade-off. Jane what's another take on that as far as like are there things that you would say yeah I would be totally willing to have this kind of robot in my life or not?

SPEAKER_07

I mean like I think really the only thing that comes to mind like you guys are talking about with the household robot a lot of the issues that people have with them are like the compromisation of privacy and who really controls it. Who's seeing it yeah but I mean at the same time you know the Ray Ban. It's like ever since the first phone the household phone was inceptualized in America the government's been able to track you ever since then and it just keeps getting more advanced and just repackaged and given to you as something else that's like more convenient or the fact that you have internet access on your smart fridge or something like that. It's like yeah they're listening to you through that they're listening to you through your phone through the cameras in this room through your TV. This laptop that laptop sure yeah maybe even these lights if you're we have cameras in this room.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah so they mean other than just our filming cameras we have security cameras that are tied to the internet.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah exactly have all the different pieces I know so I think people uh as far as like giving away privacy don't really realize how much privacy is already given away and are kind of like overblowing the idea just because it's more blatant in your face this time. So to me like the actual utilitarian functions of something like that would be cool around the house. I think besides that I wouldn't really trust it to do a lot of things like when it would come to pretty much anything like a trade to be as far as like maybe like gardening with a bush just because it would geometrically be able to understand it. But I think like as far as plumbing or as far as like building a house for me if it was just like one robot I I wouldn't use it to do that. I wouldn't use it to do anything involving like um facial or like human interaction work. So like if I was like a restaurant employee I wouldn't employ it to be like a host or a server for me just because you miss that human element of what it means to like interact with another person. Even to be like a a like a librarian or something like that I feel like people kind of miss that human interaction that it comes from like seeing somebody at a desk that's able to like understand you and read you not like just be like hi what novel would you like to read and then like you know what I mean? It feels very dystopian. So I I I feel like that's really the only thing that you guys are talking about that I would kind of do is maybe that. But besides that I have a feeling a lot of people would be very apprehensive towards it.

SPEAKER_06

It's funny because like you know it's the job that you do as a as a as a host yeah exactly and they already have that replaced in other places. I mean we see that in in Asia where they're already I'm gonna send you guys a reel right now from You guys to check out while I'm talking about this. I sent this to Gage. I also was going to be here so we could talk through this, but I know he'll hear it later and uh we'll be able to revisit. But the there's a very interesting thing that they've used that is essentially itself uh it's tied technology to a welder.

unknown

Oh wow.

SPEAKER_06

So it's very much about the things that we were talking about about how hard it would be due to blue blue-collar jobs. What this does is it welds two pieces of pipe together, and it's essentially a clamp that you can obviously see it can be clamped down to different sizes, but is made specifically for probably this piece that they're doing. Yeah. And it actually has has the pieces that connect it directly back to the power source. So be that electricity or be that gas or whatever they're gonna tig weld or whatever they're doing there, but it's it clamps it around two pieces of pipe and it makes a perfect weld for the two pieces of pipe to come together. Yeah. And so while I agree, this is not the same thing of being in a space and have to go around and do other things. This is one of those things that you could have a robot do. They walk up, they pick up the welder, they put it on the two pieces of pipe, now it's welded. Yeah, 100%. And that's not that they are a welder, it's that they can hold the thing that welds.

SPEAKER_07

Yeah, or even just being like a factory construction assembly line. Like you just have a group of robots that like or robot arms that like push this thing into place, have it do that, and then you just take them back out.

SPEAKER_06

Absolutely. And so it makes it very interesting as far as how those things might work, because as you start to think about that process, it's meant if they can do that here, well, then they could do other things too.

SPEAKER_01

Well, and what's to say that a robot couldn't have that as an appendage or have that as uh, you know, instead of an arm, it's got one of those. And so if it already this is kind of proof of concept that it's possible. Yeah, and so now it uh if this is the first iteration, we know that it'll get smaller and more efficient.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_01

Right? And so once it is that, then how far is it that you can then attach it to a robot that has two arms? Because it nothing says or three arms. Yeah, exactly. Nothing says that these robots have to have one or two appendages. I mean, they can have as many as they want. They can start. That's exactly what I was gonna say. Looks just like General Grievous from Star Wars, and now you've got um get you have these things that can now weld actually better than a human. Yeah, and they can get into spaces that we don't have to consider the livelihood of the person. You know, we don't have to consider the working conditions, so we can send it into those places that humans couldn't even survive with the ability, you know, the arms and appendages to be able to complete the job. So uh I think when we look at it through the current lens, it's like ah no, it's not it's not possible. But I mean, just this is proof of concept that I think it is possible, you know, to be able to progress in that area.

SPEAKER_06

It's true, man. It's gonna be a very interesting thing as we're living this life. You know, it's been talked about as science fiction for the future for so long, and we didn't see those leaps in a major significant way. We did like in our telecommunications, our phones and things like that, screens, but not in the same way that we thought all this stuff would come online at the same time. So now that it is actually coming here, it is kind of daunting. Yeah. So the Lord help us, you know, that we value people as people, that we value who they are, not for just what they do. And I think this kind of drives it home with AI, is that you can have AI do all sorts of stuff, and later these autonomous roadmots that are gonna be ran by AI are doing it without you. And so it has to come back to the value of a person made in the image of Christ, value of who they are, their story, and all those things are some, there's something valuable that's there. It's beyond just their function as a worker, it's who they are. Exactly. Yeah, which ties right back to the narrative of Christ.

SPEAKER_01

I'm really hoping some of these trillionaires, millionaires will go back to back to the future and get me my hoverboard, the real kind of hoverboard. That's what I've been wanting since I was since the movie came out.

SPEAKER_06

I'm with you. I know we're always like, you know, poo-pooing and saying, Oh, it's gonna be like wall, you're gonna float around on the chair. I'm like, dope, I want a chair. Yeah, where's the floating chair? Oh, Lord Heaven help us. Yeah, that would be uh a crazy deal. Yeah, you know, you're sitting on a chair getting shot up with GLP one on a on a pin on your on your gut and then eating chips in the other hand. There you go. Being fed to you by the fifth appendage of a robot. Yeah. Praise the Lord. Hey, we want to shift gears a little bit, talk about community. We've been talking about being intentional with our life after Christ, and we do that through life groups here at the church. Uh, our focus is to connect, grow, and serve. So that's a part of our heart that we would be those that connect with others, that we would grow in our relationship with Christ and in in our community, and then also serve with those things. And and I want to say, man, how much I've appreciated uh a lot of our a lot of people who've been serving in this semester of life groups some really neat stories about what God is doing in a case-by-case basis. We had a story that came out this morning where we had a staff meeting, and so uh Barbara Sharing, she's a woman's director, she was sharing with us about something that happened to her life group where they're just sharing, man, I've never heard this before. I've been in church for years, I've never heard this. And it was about process, it was about healing, it was about wholeness. And man, what an encouragement to see people who said yes to God, who are going out of their way, giving up their time, you know, doing it with consistency so that other people can join with them, and then navigating that, preparing their hearts, preparing the content, and then leading the conversation and giving space for people to dialogue together so that she could have that breakthrough moment. And to me, there's so much intentionality in that that I respect it immensely. I'm like, man, I'm so thankful that people are doing that. You know, even even right now. You know, um Celeste will get here and she'll lead a group in prayer tonight. And a moment many times I'll jump in with that group, and it's like, man, one of the things that, you know, maybe it's not a ton of people, but the people that are there, they're really praying. They're really praying for others. And we'll pray over the seats, we'll pray over initiatives, we'll pray over the kids at camp, pray for the kids that go into youth camp, and just pray for these things, pray for marriages in our in our community. And I love that. I love that people are intentional this way. Our guys went and they were they got a chance to go out and and go on a fishing trip. Man, the first time that the three of us did not get to go, Gage got to go, but we were hosting, Javen was working, we were hosting an event, uh, and so we weren't able to go. We were hosting an event here with other churches that were represented over 20 churches. So we're thankful for that that we got to be a part of it. A little bit bummed they caught fish this year. Oh my gosh. Can you believe it?

SPEAKER_07

Well, I feel like I almost every time we've gone, you've caught fish, right? Yeah, I've yes. And I've caught like one or two fish. Uh yeah, but the size of our fish versus what they're catching are like our fish are like maybe that small. I say our fish, even though I haven't even caught any decent one last year. I got a decent one.

SPEAKER_06

Yeah, I got one decent one. But I mean, like our homies who would go with us, like Daniel, like who'd ride in our truck. Daniel got a limit, man, and like good sized fish. I was like, let's go, boy. Maybe I love that guy. Lesson impatience for all of us. We'll see. Maybe so. Maybe we just need to be tenacious. I know Javen, man, he comes from a long line. My dad is like a very good outdoors man. He's had less uh with his mobility in recent years, but previous to that, I mean, they they he hunted and fished all over the place, all sorts of stuff. And um, you know, we ate a lot of game. That's what we would go harvest. Game, deer, elk, whatever it be, you know, we go hunt quail or dubs or whatever. We'd harvest, clean that stuff. That's what we ate at my house. Like it was very normal to have, you know, deer tacos and deer steak and other things like that, and elk burgers, and you name it, we had it. That's how we how we lived. And so, you know, it's interesting because with us going overseas when you were young, we didn't have the same thing that I experienced, which is like from the time I was, you know, outside, we were running around, you know, learning to hunt, learning hunter safety, all the things that go on with that, how to do a fire, how to live outside, you know, how to do this stuff. But Javen didn't get that experience because he was living across the world. Yeah, and so he had a whole nother set of skills that I didn't have as a young man. But you know, every time we've tried to go fishing, we've tried a lot on the on the bank, at urban lakes, on the boats, at these campouts. It hasn't worked out yet, man. No, we're trying. Yeah, it's all good though.

SPEAKER_07

We haven't been in a long time, though. I want to say like two years, something like that.

SPEAKER_06

Well, we went last year, but you didn't really fish.

SPEAKER_07

No, I did not fish at all.

SPEAKER_06

I mainly sat in the hammock and took a nap.

SPEAKER_07

Well, I and jumped off a bunch of cliffs. That's true.

SPEAKER_06

You and you swam across the lake a bunch of times. Yeah, pretty much.

SPEAKER_07

That's literally all I did. I I felt like I wasted $25 on the game and fish license because I don't even think I cast a single rod into the water. It might have been like one for four minutes, and then I just went and took a nap in the hammock, and that was about it.

SPEAKER_06

So you can't walk around with a pole, man, if you don't have your license. So you kind of very true. Angus, you've done pretty well, man. All these years, even Gavin catching some fish.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it's it's super fun. I I grew up doing the the Boy Scout thing, yeah, fishing. I I never really got into the hunting. I would love to still get into that, but um, it's you know, there's something about catching a fish and and cleaning it and and cooking it up and all that. It's it's really cool.

SPEAKER_06

Huge fan. Yeah, absolutely. Huge fan, man. I love it. I think it's one of those things that you know it's it's um it's so funny because we do it for recreation where other people do it for a job.

SPEAKER_05

Yeah, so it's a very weird. Yeah, or to live.

SPEAKER_06

Or to live, yeah, or subsistence. So that's a good point. Yeah, but it's fun because I love the intentionality of of all that work. I mean, a shout out to Tyler and uh and is our man's director and all of his team. He's got a team of guys work with them. They do such a great job with that and and helping other guys get tied in, get in community, live that life, be encouraged. It's really hard to live for God, and so being encouraged to do so, I really I think it's amazing and being intentional in that way. So very, very thankful.

SPEAKER_01

You know, I think about uh the leaders who are intentional to be able to create that space, to create that opportunity for people because as we talk about AI and robots and all of this, life groups is really a great place where you can go and just be a human. Yeah, you know, because um, as a believer, you know, you read the word and uh and you see culture and you know you hear the what comes across on the sermons and stuff, but then you sometimes have a hard time putting that into practice and going, what does this look like for real? And that was the the struggle that I had early on in my walk because I saw these people and it looked like they because everybody puts on a good smile and and all of that, no matter what's going on in their their world when they come to church. But when you come to these life groups, people can be really human. And they because um because you do life and share life with them, the walls begin to come down, and you see that not everybody's life is perfect. And uh, and this is how they are navigating their struggles, and this is where they also, because of the the community that happens, you share those struggles. And um and and that's where you really get to hear other people's testimonies, and that's where you can uh allow the Lord to have taken your struggles and then turn them into your testimony, but be something that ministers to others. Yeah, that's great. And say, you know what, I I've been there too, and and that's a a place that you can be really vulnerable with people. You and it's a place without judgment, you know, that it's like, hey, this is but this is how you do it. Yeah. Um and so I I owe so much of my spiritual growth to two life groups because uh there were other brothers and sisters who are willing to share their struggles, who are willing to give me insight as to how to apply this this stuff. Uh, and so I'm I'm super grateful for those leaders who've been intentional to to open up their homes or take a time, you know, after getting off work, coming and you know, making sure that they've got a space to be able to allow others to come. And so um, you know, I want to just encourage anybody who's listening, especially who's a part of uh Cornerstone, consider becoming a leader. Get involved first so that you know what we're like, so you know what it's about. And then um, you know, there there could be an interest base that you have no idea that there's a whole group of people here at the church that are interested in the same thing, or that there's a whole group of people who are struggling with the same thing or want to study the same thing as you um because you could be a put you know a part of somebody else's incredible growth as a person and in their family and in their their world as they reach out to their own community. Absolutely.

SPEAKER_06

Such a great perspective, man. I really appreciate that. And I I agree. I think it's uh very transformative, like what it can be in your life if you commit to it. Amazing. And you know, it doesn't have to be just about studying the Bible, though that is a really great thing. We're thankful for that. We do book studies as well, as well as serving, but some of those are just connect groups or interest-based and building relationship. Man, I've seen people come to Jesus a lot out of connect groups. It could be shooting photography around the city somewhere. We've had shooting groups uh in the past where we go out into the range and go shoot guns. We've had mountain biking groups, and then people play pickleball, people have done all sorts of things that they're in they get interest in crafts and art and you name it. They've done it a round of collective idea, uh hiking in the mountains, um, doing that type of stuff. But there's a lot of different groups that can happen and be an encouragement to others. So get involved and let it be a blessing to you. One word to leave the podcast. Community and I'll say Thanks so much for being a part of the collective. We appreciate you much love for everybody wherever you are.
