The weather in SF has been perfect so @NicoleSHsing
(summer is literally in her name) and I set up on a park bench directly in the wind and talked about different side quests in SF and goth ABGs. Everything from robot fighting to drone slaying. This is super serious media.

Everything has a corporate sponsor

SPEAKER_04

Like everything right now is just like everything has a corporate sponsor, right? Like absolutely absolutely everything. And so, you know, I mean like maybe all my dates are just gonna be sponsored by like sponsored by blackbox.ai, right? And I've got to look do do do ad reads for like like during dates or something. I mean there's probably a lot of. Attention is everything, right?

SPEAKER_02

I I would be down and get a tattoo of a sponsor and just just like flaunt it around like fuck it.

SPEAKER_04

Sure. But you can do that, you can do that with your company, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yeah, exactly. Start get start paying people to get Ray tattoos.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That would honestly be pretty sick.

SPEAKER_04

I mean everybody's everybody's just like everybody's just like trying to get screen time now. Yeah. You know, like like it's like I think everybody kind of like just jumping the gun when it comes to attention is everything that you need. Yeah. This is like, you know, I'm I'm like, I'm totally tangenting uh from the actual topic, but like there's just there's just something I feel like people are just going, they're going too early at this whole attention thing. It's like like software's still kind of hard to build, even with Claude Code.

SPEAKER_02

I mean, you know, this is the problem where like people are marketing before they even have before Claude Code even has finished the product. And then it's like, what people will try it and then it's freaking broken. I mean, I don't want to add anyone, but it's been, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no, you don't, you don't have to do that. We're all we're all we're all friends here. I mean, like, I think uh, yeah, I mean it kind of like it kind of it kind of comes to the topic though of just like like doing it doing a bunch of side quests, right? That's what it's what it what it what it feels like a lot of this uh you know sort of like attention is all that you need, like this sort of vibe. Um it is all just uh everybody's just like side questing, right? Everybody's just trying to everybody's just trying to like spin up different ways in which they can I mean I'm doing this, yeah, you know, like like the performative ad reads at Thanksgiving or like you know like performative ad reads at the gym or something. Yeah like this is this is totally something that I've been trying to do. But it's also my fake job to do that, right? Yes, yes. There's there's something to that.

SPEAKER_02

It goes hand in hand.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, of course. But I mean like uh there's like there's a there's a few there's a few of these uh like side quests, right? get up to in SF. Um actually no, let let's let's first address the the elephant in the room.

SPEAKER_02

We don't even talk about the goth ABGs.

SPEAKER_04

That's what you're leading now, yes.

SPEAKER_02

I am now the leader of the goth ABGs, and we are creating a house. We're creating a goth ABG house. A tech goth ABG house.

SPEAKER_04

Wait, so so like like this is just like a like a like a hacker house, but except it's just a little goth AB house.

SPEAKER_02

No, we're we're not claiming the hacker house name. We are just making a goth tech ABG house where we all work in either we're either founders, uh engineers, or designer artists, and we are just creating this container for specifically Asian ABG tech people. Goth and goth. And goth is key.

SPEAKER_04

Okay, yeah, you gotta you need need to need to add this, right? Yeah, yeah. Because like I think like uh, I mean, like I was tweeting about this a bunch, right? So, like obviously, my tweet, I mean, if you can even see it, it's a beautiful sunny day out here in Theatre Park.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. This is the one I retweeted.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, so there was so so I've done this format a couple of times. This is actually back in December.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, this isn't the one I retweeted.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, you retweeted a different one that went that went similarly viral. But this one was like I said, um back in December 18, 2025. I was like, men used to go to war. Uh I was like, I don't like war. I like jazz music, goth ABGs, the gym, goth ABGs, AI assisted coding, sugar-free Red Bull, goth ABGs, and Japanese food. Um so obviously, you know, I think like the the the etymology of like the goth ABG meme actually comes from Instagram reels. And it's like the idea that Is it does it really?

SPEAKER_02

I had no idea.

SPEAKER_04

It's basically like an XD, it's like an angsty gym bro meme.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

It's like like the idea that like, oh, you know, need me like a uh like need me a goth A B like B P D, Goth A B G girlfriend to destroy me so I can then go back to the gym and like grow my arms. Uh and so like a lot of mindsets of humour comfortable.

SPEAKER_02

I thought you just made it up.

SPEAKER_04

No, I wish I did. I mean I mean I think uh it it does, it definitely does fit my character. Yeah. Like the Yangsty gym bro, like not felt the touch of a woman in like nine years, sort of deal.

SPEAKER_02

Uh but like I do find it funny that's part of your brand. Like, did you make that or like did Yes? Okay, you you purposely made it. Okay, got it.

SPEAKER_04

Like, plausible deniability. Uh I'll I'll let I'll let people read into it what they wish. Okay. Um but then there was another one. So this was, I think this was, if I remember correctly, right? Because uh oh yes, so you posted you this is where you quo tweeted me, you quote tweeted a different one of me. And I was like, Jobs left in the singularity, and I said ABG, ABG, UGC creator, goth ABG, goth ABG leader, etc. And then you were like, I've been summoned to lead the goth ABGs. Yeah. There's pictures of you, and then you're doing like a kick.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Muay Thai kick. Yes. Okay. Makes sense that you're the leader to this. Um, you know, do I consider this to be like a classic uh uh San Francisco side quest? Probably not, but it's you know, this is the sort of thing that you can organize, like get a bunch of goth ABGs into a group house and then start doing like creative cool shit.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, that is exactly what we're doing. Our goal is to bring back femininity to San Francisco and create just a community of women because I feel like for some reason all the women in SF I feel like are all like separated, and I'm like, no, we're gonna all band together under the goth ABG house. Because why not? I was like, okay, what archetype, what stereotype do I fit in right now in tech Twitter? It's the goth ABG one, so okay, I'll just spawn the house. True. Sure.

SPEAKER_04

Well, I mean, like you you DJ as well, right? So you're kind of like playing into the idea that they just like go to raves a bunch.

SPEAKER_02

Um yeah, and it will go viral. It's it's it's perfect. Perfect marketing for everyone's whatever they're doing. You always gotta be thinking about distribution now.

SPEAKER_04

Of course, of course. Like I said, attention is all that anybody needs, apparently. Apparently. Again.

SPEAKER_02

Allegedly, allegedly.

Drone Slaying @PabloPeniche

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Well, while they like Claude Claude Code and uh, you know, forget that Claude Code hasn't actually finished yet. Go ahead and release anyway. I digress. Uh so another one. One that did you were you ever familiar with um Pablo's drone slang? I'm kind of like just I'm writing off like SF side. I wanna I wanna So I'm uh as far as I know, he doesn't actually do this anymore, or at least he's on hiatus for a little bit. Um but this was back in 2024. So again the brightness is like I think. No no, I can see it.

SPEAKER_02

Is he like fighting drones? Oh my god, I want to fight.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, they had a drone slang league. So this is like this is just like like like everybody's so sick. All the way back at the beginning of the.

SPEAKER_02

Can we bring this back? I'll bring this back. I will bring it back.

SPEAKER_04

I figured you would.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know whose drones were this is an expensive one though, because if you like once you destroy the drone, it's like minus a couple hundred dollars.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, if you like like what if you're using like uh like proper like DJI drones. I mean, you know, that that could be some like like interesting signaling of like US versus China, like we're just gonna like order order a bunch of DJI drones and then just destroy them with a spear?

SPEAKER_02

Is that what's going on?

SPEAKER_04

It could be could be uh could be a good chance to get a corporate sponsor.

SPEAKER_02

You could that's true.

SPEAKER_04

Who wants to spend on drones?

SPEAKER_02

Um, that's a good idea. Yeah, put the sponsors on the drones and then also put the temporary tattoos on the human. Just really go all out.

SPEAKER_04

I like to say that at my wedding, I'm probably gonna have like, you know, like on my suit, I'm just gonna have a bunch of corporate logos because that's where we're going now.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, instead of vows you're gonna say con those ads.

SPEAKER_04

Yes, that's how that's that's how it's all going. It's bleak. It's bleak, but you know, um, like I said, attention is all you need. I think I'm just gonna keep saying that throughout this entire time. Um so there's drone slang. Uh-huh. Um, a another one here getting eaten by a fly. Uh let me just also close some windows. This is this is this is how we this is how we do these things, it's just absolute chaos. I love it.

SPEAKER_03

I absolutely love it.

SPEAKER_04

I also should mention that like I haven't even done a uh corporate sponsor ad read yet, but this segment's sponsored by Moorefeller Lamb uh models that uh improve coding agents. There you go. Morefellerlam.com. You can go ahead and check them out. Tajis uh we'll sort you out because he's building little sub-agents for the coding agents because coding agents spend most of their time searching for code. So he builds the agent that searches for them. There you go. There you go. Might actually be useful for you. Um we shall see. I'll check it out. Not me, not me selling software to my co-host.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Interesting.

SPEAKER_02

Just get get the co-host to uh to be the customer you're talking to.

Robot Fighting + Taser Knife Fighting

SPEAKER_04

Okay, so next one I have on the list um is robot fighting. Now, there's a couple like like robot fighting leagues have spun up or like our mutual friend Verder. Early pioneer in this.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Early pioneer in the space.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

I think that was, and we'll get to it in a second, but the taser knife fighting, she was also doing robot fighting that night, is that correct?

SPEAKER_02

Yes. That was uh So it was a it was a marriage of human combat and robot combat.

SPEAKER_04

Yes.

SPEAKER_02

In that one event.

SPEAKER_04

Pretty nice, you know, because I remember I I was either sick that weekend or I missed it for some particular reason. Uh-huh. Um, but I do remember all of the images coming out from that and like that vibe looked amazing. Like there were people like in like multiple floors and people looking down, and it was like very, very it was it was it was intimate that was, but there was also still like the the whole place was packed.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. And those people love love um the robot boxing taser game fighting for sure. Especially actually a lot of people like fighting, which I was really surprised about. I thought I was like a crazy person. No, we're all fucking crazy here. Just like like a 500 people want to like tase people. I'm like, okay, we're all just insane up here.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, no, totally, totally. I think this is right. I mean, um I had a couple of posts here. I think, I mean, I think it's pretty self-explanatory. I wanted to, you know what? I actually wanted to get to the taser one because this was also you.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

This was also you. So if I actually bring up this post here, um, I think this was actually a video, if I remember correctly. Yes. Yes. It was a video of you fighting. And you're like two fights, two opponents, two wins. Did you end up winning this evening?

SPEAKER_02

I did. I won both my fights. This was the first time we did it. The second time we did it, I think I won one and then lost one. That was my first L.

SPEAKER_04

Do you know Verta asked me to do that too? I wasn't around that weekend.

SPEAKER_02

Damn.

SPEAKER_04

You would have gone up against me.

SPEAKER_02

No, that oh, we can still do that. We can do it on the pod. I should have brought them. I would have totally done it today. Um Verda has them.

SPEAKER_04

No, SFP Day will be um out together in just a second here. Uh is is how it is, it's fine. Um, so like so you can actually see the robots in the shot as well. Yeah, yeah. Which is kind of which is kind of cool. I think that's like that's the format. Obviously, I know that uh there's like a and there's also like a bunch of like robot fighting leagues that have popped up right now.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, UFB.

SPEAKER_04

UFB uh Rec.

SPEAKER_01

Rect. Rect.

SPEAKER_04

So Rec Rec is uh their office is actually across the road from me. Okay, wow. And so I have I have seen their their bad boys and have also participated in uh in their last fight.

SPEAKER_02

Oh really?

SPEAKER_04

Which I got beat by a 13-year-old.

SPEAKER_02

Wait, that's the the VR one, right?

SPEAKER_04

It's the VR one.

SPEAKER_02

Damn. How how like how easy was it to control?

SPEAKER_04

I must say. I must say, I barely practiced. So I went I went and visited them, I practiced for like five minutes. I was like, well, you know, I'm a working, half un half-employed professional. Uh I don't really have the time to put into this. I'll go in and I'll do my best and I'll be a good sport. Yeah um, but on the night, I started s I I sweated. I was like, I was like, wait, I got the hang of this. 13-year-old has like had a bunch of practice.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Um and we went down to the wire. And look, I don't wanna I don't wanna lay out any allegations.

SPEAKER_02

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_04

But I do find it funny how my robot just collapsed. And so it was two ore, the final round was the weird.

SPEAKER_02

Well, it j oh it didn't even get punched, it just like fell. And just collapsed. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Little bit, little bit, little bit suspicious, don't want to lay the allegations out. Um, but you know, interesting. I'd also made a poly market, so even though I lost, I made a bunch of money.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just kidding, I didn't actually do that. That would have been a good idea. Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Also, I think it's also probably illegal, but it's it's fine. Like I said, it's already on the way. Um but yeah, so so so there's robot fighting. Um and oh little doggo's a little bit mad. Uh he's fine.

unknown

I thought so.

SPEAKER_04

It's absolutely chaos. We're probably probably even got the mics in it as well. Shh.

SPEAKER_02

We should find actually next time the most chaotic location possible and do the podcast.

SPEAKER_04

Japan Town Mall, already done. Like I was telling like I was telling you, there's this was this guy doing, he was like walking, uh, yeah, he was like just walking around with this giant ladder. And I was just asking ladder? Yeah, like what is he building? You know? Like what what could what could this guy possibly be building?

SPEAKER_02

Huh.

SPEAKER_04

Anyway, he's uh he's not getting automated by AGI. Um he's actually gonna be fine.

SPEAKER_02

He will be uh surviving. He'll be the one survivor.

SPEAKER_04

Speaking of automating AGI, these are all my like segues. Speaking of speaking of, uh my beloved uh black box AI, so they're building the best autonomous coding agent. A bit of a theme with those who sponsor me, they're all building agents.

SPEAKER_02

Why is that? Why is that?

SPEAKER_04

It seems to be a big deal. AI.

SPEAKER_02

I I I mean, no hate, but like how is it different than Claude Code?

SPEAKER_04

So it's kind of like you know, like you think of like Factory, you think of Cognition, basically these guys allow you to spin up multiple of these agents in one place using different models. Right. So they they they they recently released a uh a feature called Claudex, right? And so like you're able to actually, you know, basically maybe you wanted to use Claude Code to actually write write code for you.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but in that same action, in that same workflow, perhaps you think Codex is a better reviewer, or vice versa, right? Or you know, you can add different steps, that sort of thing. Again, I'm just like selling your software, it's actually kind of kind of weird.

SPEAKER_02

I'm like I might go home and try all of these, honestly. I'm I'm a Claude Code lover.

SPEAKER_04

It's actually kind of rude uh that I'm that I'm doing this, is like bring you out to a park and just start reading.

SPEAKER_02

Have you tried all these other like AI agents in your workflows?

SPEAKER_04

It's crazy, it's in it's insanity. Um Blackbox love it. You know, they actually um they got Navy SEALs on their team, Jocka Willis and Investor. Kind of cool. They can do more push-ups than me. Uh that's impressive. That's kind of kind of saying something, because I have no life. I'm not felt in touch with all of it. So it's like that. So if they do more push-ups than me, what am I actually worth? Um basically, you know, scale to more than 30 million plus users and they're growing, adding three million users every single month. Kind of under the radar, actually. Uh they're just kind of just being quietly building and not uh not doing the attention is everything. But now they are because they sponsor me.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

Djing + Raves

SPEAKER_04

So black box AI, you can actually check that out. Interesting. We can also check out uh I think I had another one. Oh, so basically, like DJing and raves. You also you also DJ. I do DJing. You're doing a you just got like the side quest queen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I do everything. You asked me to do something, I'm like, sure. I'm here to learn, here to do it all.

SPEAKER_04

What got you into DJing?

SPEAKER_02

Dave Fontenau Fontenou Fontenau told me to DJ on his rooftop for his grandma's birthday. And I was like, okay, that's how I got into DJing.

SPEAKER_04

My grandma's birthday? Yeah. In San Francisco.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And I he was I was like I well first he was like, do you DJ? I was like, I can. I was like, yeah, I can. He's like, okay, great. Like, grab a USB. No, I was like, I was like, you mean like with an actual deck? And he was like, yeah, and I'm like, okay, sure, I'll learn right now, in an hour. Done. Went up there, like someone taught me in like 10 minutes. I was like, okay.

SPEAKER_04

Perfect. And then And now you just do it, like Yeah, now I just do it for whoever asks, honestly.

SPEAKER_02

So like I did it for Verta's rave, and then I did it for another event. Uh that was this one this event was at a club. I was like, sure, you want me to DJ at a club? Screw it. But if you need a DJ, I do it for free. And my uh specialty is techno K-pop. I am a techno K-pop.

SPEAKER_04

But you really ugly like leaning into this golf ABG.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. I'm really into this golf. I'm also becoming a pop star.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. What are you like writing your own music? Or are you just like you're just like, okay, the DJ thing and then because I mean again, like, like these these these side quests are getting sort of outside of the realm. I mean it's like it's like a very I feel like it's like a very um, you know, stereo technology, stereotypical like technology brother thing to be like, okay, well, um, I'm gonna like build the technology, but then I'm also gonna rock climb, but then I'm also gonna uh play pickleball or some shit and make electronic music. And it's like the the holy trip.

SPEAKER_02

That's like the stereotype.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Well I'm saying fuck the stereotype. I'm gonna become a Muay Thai fighting pop star and make my spiritual woo app. And fuck it. That's that's what I like doing. That's what I'm gonna do.

SPEAKER_04

Spiritual woo app.

SPEAKER_02

So oh you guess I'm for the record, Arc Ray is not an astrology app. I do have to clear that.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

But contrary to popular belief on Twitter, it's not astrology. It's like gamified journaling.

SPEAKER_04

Oh. Yeah. That's actually kind of the gamified journaling. Wait, what does that actually what does that actually mean?

SPEAKER_02

So, like, you know how it's like the galaxy and all this stuff? It's basically taking the concept of journaling it in like talk therapy and making it a video game.

SPEAKER_00

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

And the video game is you explore different facets of yourself in this world, in this galaxy.

SPEAKER_04

Also, I notice you got your hand, you're my sunglasses. So I'm good, I'm good. You're totally sure. You can my sunglasses are pretty good.

SPEAKER_02

I'm sure. Okay. I like having I like people seeing my eyes, even though I'm like squinting.

Getting jacked

SPEAKER_04

That's actually that's actually very polite of you. Like, like again, I'm just being rude to another. You've like got sunglasses on the entire time. So, okay, so you mentioned uh so you mentioned like Muay Thai. That actually brings that actually brings me to the final uh side quest that I actually wanted to bring up. That is just like um that is just generally just getting jacked. Um just like talk my own book. Uh don't mind if I do.

SPEAKER_02

You're like you should have just like flexed. Don't mind if I do.

SPEAKER_04

No, it's um, you know, I think I think it's one of those things in which uh once my engagement craters, that's when I'll start doing that. Okay. So it's like so so as long as I have sort of like like bullets in the chamber, we might call it. So that so a few of my bullets in the chamber will be just like uh flexing on the mop spot. Uh another one would just simply be taking my shirt off. I don't think yet yet to do that just yet.

SPEAKER_02

Um so you so if So these are like the like everything goes to shit. Like this these are the virality like absolutes.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, that's what I'll be doing. Exactly. So, you know, we can we can keep those bullets in the chamber just in case.

SPEAKER_02

Go, go.

SPEAKER_04

Um, but basically, yeah, it does, you know, I've spoken to like Miranda about this, spoken to Mel Tina about this. It's like like there is whether it's uh I don't know, whether it's this like anxiety of like people wanting to uh you know have capital to escape permanent underclass or some bullshit, or or like maybe the idea that uh the capital actually won't matter and that the only thing that's gonna matter is just gonna be like social capital and being jacked. Yeah. Um it does it does feel like there is there is a little bit of a trend here. I don't I probably don't see it as as much as I thought I would, given how anxious people are in SF right now.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

It's like if you're anxious, like go to the gym. Like if nothing's gonna matter in 12 months, like why don't you just go to the gym? I know any thoughts? I I feel like why I mean you have delts, like you got better delts than me.

SPEAKER_02

I don't I don't I f I forget what what is what, but all I know is why why would you not get jacked? Like I feel like getting jacked solves all your problems. Like you feel insecure, okay. Make your just get bigger. Like it's like seriously, like it's coming from a woman.

SPEAKER_04

I've actually never I've never heard that come from a woman. Really? It's actually very um, it's actually very inspiring. It's inspiring for me to hear. Like, I mean, you know, you didn't realize how much that's gonna go to my head. Like, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well there you go. There you go. Next time you're like, maybe I should do a cut, just be like, Nicole told me to get bigger.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, I'm gonna I'm gonna go home, like I mean, I was I was I was messaging you before, be like, hang on a second, I'm just slamming eggs, I'll be like five minutes late. Um I will go and make more. I don't just do that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh my god, when I when I was doing like really into weightlifting, I would eat like 99% um what 99% turkey, like ground turkey, and I just like slam that.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, just slam it. Yeah, I get the 96.4 ground beef.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, I think.

SPEAKER_04

Like religiously. In fact, I'm actually gonna meal prep after this. So I started meal prepping again.

SPEAKER_02

I started meal prepping. I'm trying to fight in July.

SPEAKER_04

Probably fine.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_04

Okay. Well, I mean coming soon. Side side quest maxing. Um, so so so there's that. I wanted to I wanted to put an ode to getting jacked. I mean, there's like, I mean, like a ton of my friends. I mean, you even think of like technology leaders, Brian Chesky, all these.

SPEAKER_02

I was that he literally popped into my head.

SPEAKER_04

Of course, of course. In fact, I actually think I um Do you have a pitch?

SPEAKER_02

Did you pull up a picture of me?

@tbpn chesky reaction

SPEAKER_04

I pulled up a tweet. So this was this was a um this was a T BPN clip. Okay. Um and they were they were quote tweeting me because naturally, uh, every time they have Chesky on, I tweet out like, please ask him for like one of his max lifts. Yeah, so um, so for this T BPN clip, Chesky was like, genetically, I have better arms than shoulders or chests, but I actually don't have an arm day. It was like Chesky shares his secret to getting jacked arms. He typically does two exercises of biceps, two exercises of triceps, compound free weight movement. A machine movement, maybe a dumbbell call followed by a hammer strength cable with a rope or a V-bar, and then triceps. Always doing a pushdown with a cable and then maybe a French press or skull crusher. And then he was like, generally, if you're under 40, you should be doing most entirely compound movements, free weights, dumbbells, and barbells. I'm 44, so I think transitioning to some more machines is good because of the tax it puts on your joints, but I still try to put in free weights. He's just pioneering. I actually don't completely agree with him when it comes to the training philosophy, but it's neither here nor there. Um I will do a separate episode on like training philosophy. I have a lot of that. But yeah, uh, like he's he's the pioneer.

SPEAKER_02

Um he is the he's like the I feel like he was the first jacked like tech bro.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, bitch. He was a bodybuilder in college.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, I actually had no idea.

SPEAKER_04

I'll overlay that. Um I won't find it right now, but I will eventually overlay that.

SPEAKER_02

Damn.

SPEAKER_04

Let's see what else, dude. Like what what other what other tweets do I have here? I put together, like, you know, just a bunch of tweets that we end up reacting to.

SPEAKER_02

I'm re I'm ready to react to any.

SPEAKER_04

It's another one. Basically, I said uh this was back in September, I was like going non-verbal, getting jacked, and not feeling the touch of a bad for eight years as a joke. Um so yeah, naturally it's just a joke in the way that I looked at it. Just a joke, for sure. Um, so I think that's kind of relevant. Uh what else do we have? Uh tweet from Paula. You know, I prepped all of this last night, I don't even remember what I prepped.

SPEAKER_00

Um that's perfect.

SPEAKER_04

Oh, so getting back to the side questing.

@paularambles reaction

SPEAKER_00

So Paula was like, Oh my god, that is actually so accurate. That is insanely accurate.

SPEAKER_04

In December, Paula was like, the SF holiday party circuit is wild because it's like rodeo at 7 pm, black tie gala at 9pm, Chinese peptide rave at 11 pm, and no time for an outfit check.

SPEAKER_02

That is actually so insanely accurate. I feel like every weekend, even if like you don't do even if you don't seek out these side quests, SF will just find you and throw you the craziest like events possibly. Did you go to an event?

SPEAKER_04

Did you go to the peptide one?

SPEAKER_02

I don't know, I don't think I did. I think I was in Thailand.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah, you might have already been away.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but this is so accurate. Like, like, if you don't have like six events in like one day, you're not in teapot and you should try harder. To be completely honest.

SPEAKER_04

First time anybody said uh try harder to be in teapot. Usually people are trying to escape that.

SPEAKER_02

I well, I haven't been in teapot for like a hot second, so I'm I'm I'm going back in. I'm sure in a week I'm gonna be like, fuck this place.

SPEAKER_04

She's making a return.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm ready to come back. I'm so ready.

@sporadica reaction

SPEAKER_04

She's making a return. Okay, uh, last one here. Uh there was a post from Spor. Oh, he's talking a little bit about SF party culture. Um, but basically, the reason why I wanted to bring this up, so I'll read it first. So he was like, real though, core issue with SF party culture is that most of the people throwing them have never experienced a good party. As a result, they resort to throwing weird versions of the only kind of events they do slash no, and that is networking events. I mean, the good thing about having side quests is that you can actually avoid the networking events. That's why I wanted to bring this one up.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

Uh very important. Very important.

SPEAKER_02

I will say I don't go to like any I don't go to like any company sponsored events, unfortunately.

SPEAKER_04

Except for mods.

SPEAKER_02

Except for, yes, if you have any events, I will gladly go. Oh, actually your Valentine's party was sponsored.

MOTS + @zocomputer valentines day

SPEAKER_04

Kind of fun. I actually had no idea.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, yeah, those those are good. Yeah, yeah. Your events are amazing. I'm talking about like the networking, like you're in like a VC office, and I'm just like, why?

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, it is. It it's it's been I mean like the the new trend right now is like corporate sponsored dinners, right?

SPEAKER_02

Which they just put together a bunch of like those are actually nice.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, I mean free dinner. Yeah, free dinner. Don't mind if I do.

SPEAKER_00

Exactly.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, Zoe Valentine's Day was was awesome, awesome.

SPEAKER_00

That was like fun, fun.

SPEAKER_04

You know, and I think like like Zoe, they were they were such good sports because it was basically like, you know, it could have gone like one of one of two ways, right? Like could have gone like super corporate, be you know, done the whole sort of like, you know, gather people's emails and like cool, we're gonna have like a panel or some shit. And honestly, like if people if people want to do that and they just like double down, it's like cool, we're very, very deliberately doing this, it's like very deliberately corporate. Yeah. That's like like I'm cool with that. Yeah, yeah. Like because it's like it's like it's honest and it's it's still like it's like okay, that's the purpose. Yes, and everybody goes into it knowing exactly what they're gonna get. Yeah, exactly. Very networky or good. There's a there's a time and a place. Yeah. Um, but they were down to do basically the Valentine's Day rager.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, which was it was incredible.

SPEAKER_04

Super fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I would say like as long as it's like clear what is what, you'll get the right people for the for the event.

SPEAKER_04

Totally.

SPEAKER_02

I just don't like the networking things personally. I like stabbing people with knives and like beating things up. That's that's my kind of event.

SPEAKER_04

Get her boys.

SPEAKER_02

One time I'm gonna be. One time I went to like a networking event and I had the intrusive thought of just like, what if I just like you know? I sometimes I think I'm like, don't don't come for me, don't call the cops on me, please. I'm normal.

SPEAKER_04

So yeah, for for uh for for legal reasons, actually, everything she just said is a joke.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, for legal reasons, it's all fantasy, it's all fluff. It's like I I can't fight anyone, I don't know anything.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, sometimes when I'm at networking events, I have the urge to just stab people. It's like okay.

SPEAKER_02

Safely with like a taser knife, not an actual knife.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, yeah. So what so what people need to understand is, you know, because we we kind of we actually did gloss over that part a little bit about the taser knife fighting, is it's not it's not like a real, it is like a real taser, but not a real knife.

SPEAKER_02

It's not a real knife. It's a it's a rubber knife.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And the taser doesn't hurt.

SPEAKER_04

Yes. It's just like a little zap.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, yeah.

SPEAKER_04

You're going for, you're essentially going for points. A bit like fencing. It is like fencing.

SPEAKER_02

It is exactly like fencing.

SPEAKER_04

So that's that's that's a part that I put up that I should have um.

SPEAKER_02

Just to clarify, I don't want to stab people with real knives. I just I just am a really active person. I like moving around. I can't do the whole networking city thing.

Playing musical instruments

SPEAKER_04

No, totally, totally. I think um, I think a good place to wrap, because we were talking about Zoe Computer, I should give a little quick ode to them. Basically, you know, it's like, you know, they they they were they were building open claw before it was cool. Um that's that's sort of like how how I would put it, right? Like it's like open claw works out of the box, hosted in the cloud, no setup required, and you can build your little personal apps and personal automations that way. Um also Ben is a fellow musician who's a piano player. Like you're a harpist. I'm a saturated. Oh, we should clarify.

SPEAKER_02

We should make a tech orchestra. I feel like that would be so funny. It's so lit.

SPEAKER_04

Probably works on yeah, yeah. I mean, maybe maybe we have uh maybe we have the bandwidth. Uh we'll like like and and that's you know, like I I said that actually very very deliberately, but um that was cringe as fuck. But like like band and width anyway.

SPEAKER_02

I know, I I heard, I heard. Yeah, that's I I'm pretend I'm ignoring it.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. Uh I mean, where's the SFPD? Like, I mean I'll I'll I'll term term myself in.

SPEAKER_02

The SFPD is coming for both of us right now.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah. I mean, so so but yeah, basically like and they they they throw really, really cool vents uh like Valentine's Day. With me. Yes. With yours truly. So definitely had to throw uh an ode to them in their um Yeah, I think we basically covered all the side quests. Every single one, there's no more. No, there's definitely far more, but those are the cool ones, those are the main ones, and those are the ones that you see on Twitter, which is uh basically what Mots is for. Mots is just all Twitter. Yeah, just I agree.

SPEAKER_02

Everything in Teapot you'll find on this pod, and you should watch Moths 100%. Now I'm shilling Moth. I'm doing the ad read back for your own podcast on your podcast. I mean better.

SPEAKER_04

Yeah, we'll we'll take this. Um yeah, I think that's a good place to wrap. I think sweet. You know, we'll we'll go we'll go get some more sun. Um I'm gonna probably be a little sunburned. That is that is my remote as an Australian. But uh yeah, we'll go ahead and see you on the timeline again real soon.

SPEAKER_01

Peace.
