Beats by Producer Seivwright. Welcome back to another episode. Today's episode is titled Embracing Your Desires: The Power of Permission. We will explore the journey of self-discovery, empowerment, and the importance of honoring our true wants and needs. I'm your host, Producer Seivwright, and now we're diving deep into a powerful quote. You are not picky. You just finally believed you were allowed to want what you actually want. Let's unpack this quote. At first glance, it might seem simple, but it carries profound implications. Many of us have been conditioned to suppress our desires, often labeling ourselves as picky or difficult. But what if that's not the case? What if we've just been waiting for permission to embrace our true wants? Think about a time when you hesitated to express what you truly wanted. Was it in a relationship, a career choice, or even something as simple as ordering food? This hesitation often stems from societal expectations, fear of judgment, or past experiences that made us doubt our worthiness. To understand why we suppress our desires, we need to look at our upbringing and societal influences. Many of us were taught to prioritize others' needs over our own. This can lead to a pattern of self-neglect and a belief that our wants are unimportant. For example, I remember the time before I pursued a career in the culinary industry. Despite my passion, I felt pressured to choose a more conventional path. As some of my teachers at the end of my secondary education were saying I could be more than just a chef because I am so smart. They said I should take a more conventional path like becoming a doctor, lawyer, or anything else that society sees as successful. However, it only took a couple weeks for me to realize that my desires were valid and worthy of pursuit. I encourage you to reflect on your own experiences. What desires have you suppressed? What beliefs have held you back from pursuing what you truly want? Now that we've identified the roots of our suppressed desires, let's talk about the journey to self-acceptance. This journey often involves several key steps. Awareness, recognizing the desires you've pushed aside. Reflection, understanding why you felt unworthy of those desires. Permission. Giving yourself the green light to want what you want. It's essential to acknowledge that this process takes time. It's not about making drastic changes overnight, but rather about small, intentional steps toward honoring your true self. As we wrap up today's episode, I want to leave you with this thought. You are not picky. You are worthy of your desires. It's time to give yourself permission to want what you truly want. I encourage you to take one small step this week toward embracing your desires. Whether it's speaking up about what you want or simply acknowledging your feelings, every step counts.
