We hit 300,000 Instagram followers!!! So naturally, we celebrated the only logical way: with a cake, some life lessons, and a whole lot of chaos.

In this episode:

Why I wanted to celebrate 300K instead of waiting around for some “bigger” number

A real talk about celebrating the journey, not just the destination

Why rejection might actually be protection

A late-night conversation with Dr. Piano Man about space, Earth, and how wild it is that any of us are here at all

What it’s really been like growing from 3,000 followers before the pandemic to 300,000 now

My attempt to make a two-ingredient chocolate cake with soda… which got very questionable, very fast

Also included:

Advice on social media, business, comparison, and dating

Mama Schall calling in with producer shout-outs and motherly wisdom

The Mallorca countdown because we leave in 48 hours

This one is funny, messy, a little sentimental, and very much a celebration.

If you’ve been part of this journey in any way, thank you. This milestone means so much to me.

SPEAKER_02

Hi everyone, welcome to Show We Talk. We have a very special episode. This is our 300,000 Instagram follower celebration episode. Pooch. Can you make a sound effect there?

SPEAKER_00

Oh, I was gonna put like confetti blowing up right there.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, thank you. Should I do it again?

SPEAKER_00

It'll happen again. Actually, this time we'll have fireworks. Ready? No.

SPEAKER_02

Hi everyone. Welcome to Shaw We Talk. It's me, Robin Shawl. Today's episode is very special, as it's our 300,000 Instagram follower celebration extravaganza.

SPEAKER_00

There you go.

SPEAKER_02

All right, before we start, make sure if you're watching on YouTube, you like and subscribe. Leave a nice comment. If you're listening on any of the podcast apps, give a five-star and nice review. If you like some behind-the-scenes content or live streams, or become a producer on the podcast, you can head over to Patreon. The link is below. And this is the end of the calendar sale today. Yep. Last days today. Last days today. That was a nice little run. It was. That was a good calendar. It was. Let me tell you why we're celebrating this. Because I'm sure most comedians, actors, influencers, they really celebrate when you hit a million, right? Or they really hit maybe half a million. Not me. I have to celebrate every freaking milestone because life is about the journey. It is not about the destination. If you wait to celebrate the destination, you could be waiting for a very long time. Or you just hit it, celebrate, and it's over. No, we have to celebrate the journey. Especially because the journey is never easy. I don't care what it is, whether it's about followers, whether it's about your career, whether it's about starting a family, whatever it is. Life is hard. So as you're getting milestone to milestone, you have to celebrate, you have to acknowledge, and you have to say, hey, we're doing it. My dad told me success is being further along than you were six months ago, right? Success isn't a number in the bank account. Success isn't a number in friends. It's not, it's not a number. It's just being further along than you were six months ago. So if six months ago you were struggling to get out of bed and now you're getting out of bed, great. You're successful. So when you're like, Robin, I can't get out of bed. I'm like, oh, sorry. You're not successful. No, I'm kidding. All right. So anyway, this episode is a manifestation episode because my allergies are bugging me. So my ears are swollen. So I feel like I'm on a cloud. I feel like I'm high. I'm not high. I just feel like loopy and whoopy. So if this is a weird episode, it is. But it's our celebration episode. To celebrate 300,000 followers, we are going to be baking a cake today. It's actually a chocolate two ingredients surprise cake. The surprises soda. Now I did this once before and it was a disaster because I used like a wrong soda and it came out gross. So we did get the right soda, although I do think I got the wrong amount. But anyway, you'll see all that once we hit the kitchen. Spoiler alert, I filmed the baking the cake first, and you could tell because I have chocolate all over me. Um I think it came out really good. So we'll we'll see. But anyway, I want to talk to you a little about the journey of getting here because I felt like a little silly for a second celebrating 300,000 because I'm like, is that a weird number to be celebrating? Also, I don't know. I wish I was further along, blah, blah, blah. All these doubts started popping in my head. I feel like I so much of the time I'm thinking of what I don't have or what I still want, that it's really important to slow down and celebrate the wins we get. And so that's why I wanted to celebrate this with you guys. And I really think it's important for you guys to see what you have right now, what you're winning at, what's good, and make sure you're celebrating that and make sure you're soaking it in because you deserve it. You're wonderful, you're great, and you're doing a great job. I could not sleep last night. At three in the morning, I watched this TikTok and it was this woman, and she said, if you don't get something, you are not supposed to get it. Rejection is protection. And I don't know why that resonated with me so much. So much of the business I'm in is rejection. Like there's so much, and I think back to, you know, why, you know, I why I didn't get something. And I think about how happy I am in my life. And I think about, well, maybe if I got this, it wouldn't have panned out well, or this would have happened, or this would happen. So I'm really trying to stay present in the moment of like where I am is exactly where I'm supposed to be. I'm sharing all this because I'm hoping this will resonate with someone. If you're listening and you're like struggling in any sort of way, where you are is exactly where you're supposed to be. And anything you did not get, you were not supposed to get. And everything that's good and coming to you is going to come to you. We do not chase, we attract. All that is good for us will find us. Is this resonating with you, Security?

SPEAKER_00

Yes, a hundred percent. I agree with everything. I anything that has not happened for me, I always say, There's a reason. Yeah. I think I said that to you multiple times. There is a reason. Yeah. And I always say the universe is never wrong. There's a reason.

SPEAKER_02

And the universe doesn't want to hurt us. Oh, so I have anxiety, right? So at night, um, I'm always anxious, whatever. And shockingly, this is the conversation that calmed me and put me to sleep. So I said to Dr. Piannoman, this is while, you know, the astronauts were circling the moon, and I said, if they stepped out of their their cr their, what is it called? A cr uh module. Their module.

SPEAKER_00

Space module. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

If they step out of their thingy without the suits and they just step outside, what would kill them first? And then Dr. Piattleman said, Oh my gosh, like, I don't even know what would kill them first. I mean, there could be, and he said, you know, there's no whatever this, so your blood and fluids expand and you would just like burst. She said, or anything flying is going a gajillion miles and will put a hole, like, you know, or actually the rays of the sun would burn you to death. Like, you know, so he was like saying all these things, and then I was like starting to jerk to sleep. You know, I think it was because like he was just talking to me about science. But then as I was starting to go to sleep, he said, and you know what's so crazy is the miracle of planet Earth has all these things that lined up absolutely perfect to let life live. Like, here we he's like, here we are trying to go to space and try to take over this planet, take over the moon. He's like, but we were gifted this one planet that has all the protections for human life to exist. Like, he's like, this is the craziest thing that Earth exists, and yet here we are just like destroying the planet and killing each other when like we were given this huge, like one in a gajillion, bajillion, whatever number he said, that Earth had all these correct protections and correct elements for human life to sustain, and yet, like, we're killing each other, you know? But because I was thinking just like what America life is, and how crazy it is that we are all here. And so I'm really trying to do my best to enjoy everything, every second, every moment, every win, even if it's as silly as Instagram followers. I'm taking it in. And you know, there may be a time, you know, when I hit 10 million followers and 300,000 will seem small, but it's not small, it's 300,000 of you guys. People always think I have more followers than I do because when I said, oh, guys, we're about to hit 300,000, people like, oh, I thought you would have had more. But the thing is, I don't get quantity, I get quality. And this is always proven every time we do one of our fundraisers or we do Robin's Roses. Like, you guys are amazing. And the fact that I have 300,000 amazing people that I get to spend every day with is worth celebrating. So let's head into the kitchen, make a cake, and well, hope to make a cake. So, at the time of filming this, we are just over 500 followers away from 300,000. This is so exciting. So, we're gonna make the cake, we're gonna put candles in. Oh, let me show you the candles. Oh, you know what the hardest part about filming a cooking show is the mic doesn't move with me. Okay, so and I can't cook potato potato. All right. Oh, I saw a TikTok the other day. Is it potato tomato? Or is it potato potato? I saw someone say potato tomato. Anyway. Fascinating. So we have 300 for the candles, and so now we're gonna make a brownie cake surprise. What's the surprise? We're not using eggs or oil, but we are using soda. I saw this online. We tried this a little while ago, but I used my gosh, I said before I was saying probic, proadic, pro, whatever. Oh my gosh, I messed this up earlier today when I was trying to do an Insta story. But the probiotic, you know what I'm trying to say. I tried to use a soda that was a probiotic. Oh my god, I don't even know the word. Okay, but I uh used that, it was a disaster, it tastes disgusting. So we are gonna use regular Coke, which is what they suggest. The only problem is they suggested a can. I got this, which is a little bigger than a can. So I need to put a little less, but I'm not exactly sure how much. But that's the fun with cooking with Robin. You never know what you're gonna get. Not even me. Crash. What?

SPEAKER_00

You gotta tell the listeners that you said this. They don't know what this is.

SPEAKER_02

You know, Richard. Okay, sorry. So let's rewind, okay? We are making a brownie cake soda surprise. No, we're making a brownie cake surprise. What's the surprise? Instead of oil and eggs, we're using so soda. You guys can't see, I'm going down to the mic. Soda. Oh, you guys see it? So oh, you can't see the mic. No one could see the mic. All right, well, that was a fail. Anyway, we're using soda, but I don't have a can, I got a bottle. So that's it. Okay, if you're watching, sorry, you had to experience that twice. Anyway, I'm just really excited and I'm really grateful. I'm sure in the opening, once I hit 300,000, I'll explain this more. But I just feel so grateful. Before 2020, I had 3,000 followers. And then, you know, it went viral during the pandemic and it shot up to 120,000. And then from 2020 till 2026, it's it's it's taken these 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 2023. Six years? 2021 to 2022 to 2023 to 2024, 2025, 2026. Oh wait, is it five years? 20 to 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26! No, six security is in six years or five years?

SPEAKER_00

2021?

SPEAKER_02

2000 to 20 to 2021 to 2022, 2023, to 2024, to 2025, 2002. No, it's six. Zero to one, to two, to three, to four, to five, to six.

SPEAKER_00

But we're not in November yet.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, five and a half years.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, five and a half.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, anyway, anyway, thank you for sticking with us for five and a half years and the last three minutes of your life. Okay, this is a science channel and a cooking channel, not quite a math channel. Okay, anyway, we're sidetracking. My point being, over the last five and a half years, it's taken me to get, you know, from from 120,000, which is, you know, when I had the Big Bang, to now, it was definitely a quality over quantity. A lot of people, once they go viral, it's kind of like game over. You hit a million, two million, three million. Not for me. Not for me at all. Every step of the way I had to like keep proving myself and pumping out and giving it all I got and and wanting to stay true to myself and my morals and my ethics and what I believe is being funny and good. And you know, there were so many times I could have like sold out a little, you know, or I could have used like a little probably better of a social climber, but it's just not it's not who I am, you know. And you know, a lot of times drama will get you followers, and doing fundraisers makes you lose followers. But I am so passionate about living a life that makes me happy and makes me proud and makes me surrounded by people I want to be surrounded with. So when I say like I have 300,000 followers, it's not a number to me because I've met so many of you guys. So it's 300,000 amazing people. People that want to laugh with me, but who also want to try to make the world a little bit better and whatever way we can do it, if it is just making days lighter, or if it is raising money for animal rescues or on the sound house or whatever it is, and the goals list, like we've accomplished so much together, so it's not like 300,000 followers, it's 300,000 people who are with me every day laughing and trying to put some light into this sometimes very dark world. So that's why this is all so exciting for me. And I can't wait for us to keep growing, but I want to make sure we celebrate every milestone along the way, and this is a very big and exciting one, which is why we are making a cake, a chocolate brownie surprise. It's no longer a surprise because I told you it's soda. All right, so let's start with ingredient one. Ingredient one is just a cake mix. I'm using none of these are sponsored, by the way. If you'd like to sponsor me, please reach out. I'm not talking about you like a person. Like you, oh, actually, it's not true. You could join Patreon. Head over to or the link below and head over to Patreon if you'd like to sponsor me. No, but if you're like a cooking company and you want to sponsor me, also on the goals list we have uh food network. So if you're the food network, we are amazing chefs over here. Okay. Nice fact. I can't open this box. All right, so step one, there's only two steps. You can't really mess this up, famous last words, is put the mix in the bowl. All right, two, take the mix out of the bowl, open the bag, and then pour it in. Alright. Like, so it was really funny. I wanted to bake the other night, and Dr. Pielaman's like, can't I just go out and get you brownies, or can't I bake for you? I think he gets really nervous because let's be honest, the studio is my room, right? The bedroom is our room, but like my makeup table's in there, my bathroom's in there, the living room we share. The kitchen is his. Like this room, we are in Dr. Piano Man's room right now. Like, we keep let's uh Yeah? Oh, sorry. We learned the last time we did a cooking segment that because the mic is by all of the thingies, anytime I do anything, you hear right? Okay, so anyway, Dr. Piano Man lets us use his kitchen, which is very kind of of him. So we we try our best not to come in here because when we do come in here, but we have a great time. But things sometimes go awry. But not today, not for our 300,000 celebration. Okay, so the second step is pour soda. Now, again, you were supposed to use a can. I am using a bottle. I think it's a little more than half, but I'm not sure. Okay. And you're like, Robin, can't you just like read an ingredient and then check? But well, what are you gonna do? All right, how do you know what's half? They did say if I use the whole thing of this, then it's gonna be a soup. And we don't want soup. Okay. All right, I'm pouring in the soda into the bowl, and I'm trying to estimate what's half. I really don't know. Oh, you know what I should have done? Damn it. It's 200 F L O Z. Flows ounces. What's F L, I know O Z is probably ounces. What I should have done was measure out 10 ounces, but I don't even know how to do that. All right, we're gonna have to hope for the best. So now what we're going to do is mix. Now, one of you guys, so sweet. I get the most thoughtful gifts from you guys. Someone made, because you know, I do my ice cream in vodka and I always have like a spoon. One of them says Dr. Piano Man Tub Talk Spoon, the other one says Robin's Tub Talk Spoon, and on the handle it says Dr. and Mrs. Piano Man. I think these are so cute. So let's uh mix. So I am not gonna talk while I mix because again, for sound purposes, you hear d. So let me mix. Security, speed this up. I need a pause. I think I made brownie soup. I think I put too much soda in. Alright, continue speeding this up. Guys, it's soup. I I can already tell I put too much in because it said it was supposed to be a cake consistency and it's a liquid consistency. Alright, what are you gonna do, right? We're gonna hope for the best. Oh, I wonder if I put cocoa powder in, if that will make it more dense. Hold on, guys, we are going off script. We are going off script. Okay, so I have this Hershey's cocoa powder. If we make this more dense, we're only adding chocolate. I don't see why this wouldn't work. Oh, what just fell in there? Did you guys hear me? Oh my god! Oh my god! Oh wait. What is that? A spoon Oh, there was a spoon. Oh, that's a crazy place to keep a spoon! That's an insane place. That's not on me. That one's Dr. Piano Man. Who keeps a spoon in cocoa powder? Okay. Alright, let's see if that helps the consistency. Alright, hold on. Let me mix and let's speed this up. Oh, I'm wondering, should I be using a blender? Probably, right? Is that why this is liquid? Because it's not being blended? Alright, let me mix a little more, and then if it's still liquidy, we'll bring in the blender. Yeah, this is mush. Hold on. Alright, we gotta find a blender. Oh gosh! Oh no, man down. Okay. Sorry! Oh no. Alright. I don't know where the blender is. Okay. Alright. Okay. Alright. We are. Alright. We're gonna oh, oh no, wait, hold on. Every the thingy fell out into the mix. Hold on. Hold on. Everything's gonna ride. Jeez. Geez, Louise. Hold on. Alright. Poor listeners. People, you know, there's some podcasts people are like, you've gotta listen to this. This is one of the podcasts where it's like, maybe watch with the sound down. Okay, hold on. How do I get it so this stays? If you're listening, I'm trying the thing keeps coming out. Okay, let me blend. Please hold. I have an idea. While I blend with Oh oh, I just spit all in this. Okay, well it's just me and Dr. Piano Man eating it. So security, don't eat this because I just oh geez. Okay, while I on our on our website, h showetalk.com, there's a section for advice. I went through it and I tried to pick a few advice questions dealing with social media. So while I mix this, let's read one of the questions and then I'll come back and give some advice. Hi, Rob. I recently started my own jewelry business and I've set everything up. I have an Etsy shop, Instagram, TikTok, and even a website. The issue is I'm not really getting followers or any sales yet. I've watched how you built your journal business up, so I was hoping you might have some advice on where to focus and how to actually start getting traction. Alright, I think this actually did help. It does feel a little thicker. I think this is the best it's gonna be. So let's put it in the bowl. It is soupy. Uh whatever, it was the best it's gonna be. All right, I'm gonna put it in the bowl while I give some advice on this. Yes, I have a very successful journal biz. It's underground and illegal, but very successful. But here's the thing: it didn't start that way, right? So when I had like 3,000 followers, I had multiple businesses. I had a paint your own paint, I would paint light switches. I did a blog where I rated public toilets, I had a t-shirt biz. Like I had so many businesses that just didn't pop. When I started the journal biz, one, I already had a following, so that helped. Two, I didn't start big. I started small. Our very first launch, I only had made 50 journals. Like I and we sold it out like it very, very fast. We actually crashed the site because it wasn't enough, and everyone put it in their card at the same time. Actually, the first two weeks that happened, and then we like came up with a system. But it wasn't for about till our about our fourth or fifth drop, where I made sure I had like two or three hundred journals ready to sell. So the reason why I'm saying this is because I want to give you a realistic picture. If you're saying, like, but you had a successful journal biz, can I copy your format? But the thing is, I was already starting with a leg up because I already had a following when I started the journal biz. All of those other businesses, I couldn't get traction. So I just want to say make sure you're just keeping a realistic mind if comparing yourself to others, where they're starting it. I was starting at with already 200,000 followers when I started the journal biz. Okay. With that said, you're doing everything right. You're putting it on social media, you have the website, you're putting yourself out there. Keep pumping out the content of the jewelry. I know when I'm selling journals or when I'm selling the calendar, every time I showcase it, a sale will come in. Every Thursday for the last month, when the episode comes out and I show the calendar, more sales come in. Using social media and you, you are your best commercial, right? So other people, yes, you want other people to share, you want other people to talk about it. It's all so helpful. But if you aren't your number one commercial, then why is anyone gonna buy it? Like if you don't like get online and say, look how good this is, look how beautiful this. I just made this, I'm so excited. That's how you get people excited. So keep doing what you're doing, pump out that content. Don't compare yourself to others. Although I do love that you were like saying, like, what's your business style? Maybe because so that I can try to emulate that, which I think is really smart, but maybe also look at people currently with the same numbers as you, what they're doing, especially if they're starting to grow. And something to do when you're starting out also is collaborating with people in the same number game as you, right? So if you have, let's say, 500 followers, find another small business that has around 500 business, collaborate that way. Say, hey, I'll post yours if you post mine. Do you want to do a joint sale? Like, there's so many things you can do that way, but either way, keep going. You don't know the video, you don't know the piece of jewelry, you don't know the thing that's gonna pop. So just stay optimistic, believe in yourself and be your biggest advocate. Advocate? I don't know. All right, so now we are going to put the cake mix into on the pan, on the cake pan. The only problem is, guys, this is soup. Like, I don't know what to tell you, but okay. Not ideal. Actually, maybe it is ideal. I think we have enough for sorry, I just squealed. We may have enough for a second cake. Oh wait. Guys, this tastes so good. Hold on, I don't want to brag, but I may be amazing. Where's the pan? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Alright.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, guys, we just changed. We are now making a double layer cake, a two-layer cake. We are that fancy. You know why? Because any moment we're gonna hit 300,000 followers. Oh my gosh. Okay. Oh my god, I can't believe we're gonna have enough for a two-layer cake. Okay, we don't have enough for a two-layer cake. We have enough for one and a half layers. Okay, currently I'm scooping. I know that's probably annoying for you listeners. Okay. Alright, so I now have a full pan and a half empty pan. So I'm gonna take the pan that's very full and pour some of the batter into the second one so we'll have two same-size cakes. Okay, that looks good. Okay. Maybe. I don't know. All right, hold on. Oh, jeez. Oh, oh no. I tried to wipe the side, but now, okay, hold on. Wait, the cake batter is so good. Guys, I don't know about you, but I'm feeling optimistic for the first time in kitchen history. Well, Robin kitchen history. Oh my gosh. You know, my old apartment, I used to keep shoes in the oven because not the old one, but when I was in the studio, I used to keep shoes in the oven because the apartment was so small and I never used it. This cake's gonna be a little bigger than that one, but it's oh, we never preset the oven. Okay. So, guys, the next step is preheat the oven to please hold. What size pan do we think this is? I'm gonna go with a nine by nine. Let's do 350. So preheat. 350. Okay. Start. Is it okay to have things on the to on the oven? Yeah, I don't know. Alright, well, we'll see. Okay, while this is preheating, and then we're gonna have to do it for 33 minutes. While the oven is heating up, let's get hot in the kitchen. Let's get another advice question. Help. I have a love-hate relationship with social media. I'm a freelance photographer and singer, and most of my business for both photography and performing comes from social media. So I know how important it is. But at the same time, it's really affecting my mood. I'm constantly checking numbers and comparing myself to others. Do you have any advice on how to manage that? Okay. I'm glad you acknowledge that social media is a big part of your business and that there's no way around it. I'm in the exact same boat. There's no way around it for me, too. My income comes from Patreon, it comes from uh when I do ads on social media, and it comes from shows. And how do I sell tickets for shows? Through social media. So I get it. When you are so reliant on social media, it really is a double-edged sword because there's times like social media is not great for my mental health. Again, I'm in such a lucky boat. Like I have the greatest followers, and it really is a great space for me. But scrolling isn't like me comparing like to what you're saying, like comparing to others, poof, it is so, so hard. And a lot of people I'm happy for, you know, I'm happy for a lot of people's success. But I think it's two things can be true at the same time. You could be really happy for other people's success and then feel like you're not doing enough and you're not as far as you want to be, or your numbers aren't where they should be. And it does, it takes a toll on you, especially when when it's work-related. There's so many times like, ugh, it's it's really hard. So, okay, what's my advice? One, comparison is the thief of joy. Don't compare yourself to others. You have no clue what it's like on the other side. You don't know who they're comparing themselves to, and you are on a your own path, right? I saw the other day there was this comedian who just sold a TV show, and poof, I was struggling thinking, like, why can't I do this? Like, where when am I gonna get my shop? But that's not my path. That that's that's this comedian's path. And he's funny and he's great, and this show is the road that he's supposed to go down. For me, I I don't know what my road is yet. Plugging along, it's it's going pretty well, but I don't know the path. But comparing myself to him who has his path, it does nothing for me. What does it do? Or, you know, you compare yourself, take it away from work. But if you compare yourself on social media, oh, this person just got married and has a kid, I'm still, you know, can't find my person. That's fine. That's that person's path. And you don't know what's happening behind closed doors. You may be so much happier than that. Like you just don't know. Comparing on social media, can't compare to anyone is just like gonna steal joy from you. But also, especially on social media, you just don't know the real situation. Social media for a lot of people are a highlight reel. For some people, it's a straight out lie. But for some people, myself including, it's a highlight reel. I'm I show you guys the best of the best of my videos. I don't show you all the flops that I send to security or Belinda or my friend Adam, like, hey, is this funny? And they go, no, like, don't post it. You know, you see now my shows sell great ticket sales. You don't see the years of it not, you know, or like there's some shows even now. Let's say we do six to six cities and five sell out, and I go, guys, we sold out, we sold out, we sold out. And then there's that sixth city where we sold like 20 tickets. Yeah, well, I'm not posting that. I'm not talking about that. So just remember, you can't compare yourself on social media. Highlight reel of their lives. And for some, it's a complete lie. Do not compare. And you're building, you're growing it. Life is ups and downs. My mom always says, life is a roller coaster. You just don't know. And if you're at a low point, what's so great with a roller coaster when you're at the bottom, what's next is you head on up. And then it's curves and excitement and wild. And again, there's gonna be downs, and there will be slow parts, but then you're gonna have some fast and exciting parts too. So do not compare and keep going. Hi, Robin. I just want to say how much I love you and your videos and the podcast. Watching your relationship with Dr. Piattleman has given me hope that I'll find my person one day. I'm in my 50s and dating has been really discouraging at times. How did you stay open and stick with it? So I'm gonna say this. I think finding your person, your match, your partner is really a crapshoot. I don't think there's any advice I can give. I don't think there's any love advice, a love coach, like nothing that actually works except luck and timing. Like you being in the right place in your life, them being in the right place in their life, and then meeting at that right time. And that's so difficult because like who who knows when that's gonna happen. So my advice is like, yeah, like if you if meeting a partner is a priority to you, keep putting yourself out there, even if majority of dates stink. You gotta put yourself out there so that you can meet the right person. But in the meantime, just like live your best life. I mean, work on yourself, yes, like you know, go to therapy, just keep bettering yourself. So when you meet that person, you're in a great headspace. But yeah, it's just luck and timing. Like, there's no there's no uh good advice except put yourself out there, but in the meantime, just do the things that can make you happy. And I will say this something I have learned from this relationship. If it's not a hell yes, it's a hell no. Until you meet that person where it's like hell yes, this is it. I want to be with this person all the time. They make me so happy. Then just being in a relationship just is just a waste. It's not benefiting you. The best thing you could do till you meet that person is live your best life. Keep putting yourself out there, but live your best life. The oven is ready, so let's grab our little mittens. All right, and oh my gosh. All right, so let's put the cakes in. Oh my gosh. Ooh, this is hot. The oven's hot. I guess you guys know that, right? Alright.

SPEAKER_01

Oi, oi.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, now I'm gonna wait 30 to 33 minutes, and with camera magic, when I come back, the cakes will be ready. It has been about 33 minutes, so let's get the cakes out. Ooh, okay. Hot potato. Alright, I think this is good. Should we like do something to check? I'm gonna get this one out, too. Oh gosh. Okay. All right, the cakes are officially out. Now let's do a check to see if it's cooked. Hot, hot.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Alright, okay. So now what we're gonna do is we're gonna let this cool for like 20 minutes and then we will decorate. But let's do some camera magic to speed up time. And now the cakes are cool with our little camera magic. All right, I don't even know how that looked. Alright, so now that the two cakes are cool-ish, we are going to decorate. So, first we're gonna take a plate and we're going to turn the cake upside down and knock it out. Ta-da! Oh, we could do a taste test because a little piece fell out. All right, cheers! Okay, let me tell you why I'm conflicted. This is delicious. It's just the con the text the consistency. Like all right, let's be honest. It was too much soda, but it's delicious. I'm not fainting because it's a little mushy, but it's delicious and it's edible, and it's our 300,000 follower cake, so we're not complaining. Okay, so now I need to turn this cake back over. Is it a cake or a brownie? One, two, three, flip. Whoa. Oh, you know, okay, all right, get in the middle. Oh, jeez. All right, can we oh fuck. I broke it. Okay. Alright, I broke it. All right, all right, everyone calm down, okay? We're getting a little too excited over here. Alright, so now you're probably like, oh no, Robin, you broke it, but it doesn't matter, it's just the bottom layer. No one cares about the bottom layer. All right, so we're gonna take some icing, and we're going to Do I have chocolate all over my keith now? Probably. Alright, so now we're gonna take the icing. Security, can I keep talking or do you hear the fireman?

SPEAKER_00

I hear them, but it's not the end of the world.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so now we're just gonna take a little icing and put it on top of the cake. Oh, it's coming apart. Okay, so now I'm gonna take the top layer and put it on top of this layer of cake. And now we have a two-layer chocolate brownie surprise soda cake. So now let's put some icing on it. We will speed this up and go. Wait, this is coming out like so good. Guys, I want to say this may be our best work yet. Maybe, maybe we are too good for worst cooks in America TV show. Right? Like, look at this. Wait, does this cake not remind you of the Matilda cake scene? Wait, this looks so good. All right, guys, this is our 300,000 cake. I'm gonna wait to put the numbers in to make the video, but oh my gosh. I will now let you know that the cake was absolutely disgusting. So we filmed, you'll see it on Instagram. It's probably already up, but we filmed a like transition video, which was so fun. And then at the end of it, I ate the cake, as you saw, and it was gross. I think I put too much soda in. I think that's where the problem lies. All right, so uh we're gonna get Mama Shaw on the phone to do our producer shout-outs. If you'd like to become a producer on the Patreon or just get some behind the scenes or be part of the live streams, head over to Patreon. The link is below. All right, let's call Mama Shaw. Oh, not for the motherly advice yet, right? That's uh I I do that after, right? You just you say for motherly advice.

SPEAKER_00

Oh no, I do that after the call mom for our producer shout-outs and motherly advice.

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_00

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_01

SPEAKER_02

SPEAKER_01

Yes, like we just get welcome.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, it's been exciting. All right, so you want to do your producer shout-outs?

SPEAKER_01

We want to thank all the Patreons, and I want to give a shout-out to those in the producer team. We have Susan Santoro, Veronica and Deanna, Lamar Fix, and Dr. Piano Man. And I want to say thank you to all the Patreons for all their support and really a lot of support for Robin and Bion.

SPEAKER_02

All right, you're ready for your motherly advice.

SPEAKER_01

Yes. I was just thinking about, you know, we're gonna be celebrating a big milestone. And we cannot forget that we have to enjoy the journey that brought us to that milestone.

SPEAKER_02

Deborah. Sorry to interrupt. Do you know that was my entire opening segment? I was saying how you have to enjoy my whole thing was you have to enjoy the journey. You can't just enjoy like the you can't just get enjoy the destination. You have to enjoy the journey. Mother.

SPEAKER_01

I have more.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, continue. Doesn't care.

SPEAKER_01

It also is important to reflect back on that journey and look at all the different twists and turns and things that happened and how you got to that milestone. And remember the fact that the journey, even if sometimes you get a roadblock, you just keep on going, and you know what? You get to that milestone.

SPEAKER_02

Yes, mom. I have to tell you, I think I may be your child because literally my entire opening segment was about this.

SPEAKER_01

That's because I've said it enough times to go enough. Well, um, it's it's like what is it?

SPEAKER_02

See, I do listen to you. You think I never listen to you? I listen.

SPEAKER_01

That's right, because I hear it back. You say exactly what I said to you over the years. All my children do.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so all right, thanks, Mom. Happy 300,000.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm very happy at 300,000.

SPEAKER_02

You have 300,000 kids. How does that feel?

SPEAKER_01

I love it. I want another 300,000.

SPEAKER_02
