discourse in the upper room, and all that Jesus has said to them, and all their confusion and all their excitement and all their wondering, they sit there before him. 00:06:00.319 --> 00:06:06.160 And only peace that we can truly have in this world, and it is found only in Christ, meaning this peace does not rest in our ability to hold to Christ, but in Christ's sovereign grace that he holds us, twofold effect. 00:13:04.720 --> 00:13:05.440 He's doing this. 00:13:05.600 --> 00:13:13.200 Jesus is teaching twofold effect in a way that they open up understanding and one that blocks 00:15:48.799 In their case, the God of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel, of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. But Jesus is preparing his disciples to understand that their peace does not rest upon their ability to stand for him perfectly. 00:29:31.759 --> 00:29:34.720 It's not that we can perfectly stand in
