Good Neighbor Podcast: Orange County

Inside Lizzie Noble’s Creative Approach To Authentic, Budget-Savvy Events

Rachel Fyffe & Lizzie Noble

Planning a wedding shouldn’t feel like auditioning for social media. We sit down with planner Lizzie Noble—who went from orchestrating political fundraisers for governors, senators, and a presidential campaign to crafting unforgettable, joy-first weddings—to unpack how creativity, logistics, and empathy turn big days into authentic celebrations. Lizzie shares why the internet’s “standard” wedding is both unrealistic and unnecessary, and how a good planner becomes your advocate, not your expense driver.

We trace her journey from Charleston’s hospitality roots to high-pressure DC events, then into a California chapter where venues invite natural light, coastal textures, and flexible design. Lizzie explains how to align vision with budget using must-have lists, transparent line items, and timeline buffers that prevent rush fees. She breaks down high-impact choices—like lighting, sound, and guest flow—that guests actually feel, and shows how scaling back low-impact decor can make space for personal details that tell your story.

You’ll also hear how she attracts clients through Instagram and TikTok, why behind-the-scenes clips build trust faster than glossy galleries, and what it means to be a planner who grows with clients through milestones. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by vendor quotes, pressured by trends, or unsure where the money should go, this is a practical, encouraging guide to planning with calm and intention. Press play to learn how to protect your budget, design with purpose, and keep the fun front and center—and if this conversation helps, subscribe, leave a review, and share it with a friend who’s planning next.

SPEAKER_02:

Morning.

SPEAKER_00:

This is the Good Neighbor Podcast, a place where local businesses and neighbors come together. Here's your host, Rachel Fife.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Now, if you are looking to plan a special event or a wedding and wanting to partner with someone who brings fearless creativity and meticulous planning to craft an event that is uniquely you, well, that that person is closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Lizzie Noble, with Lizzie Noble Events. Lizzie, how's it going?

SPEAKER_01:

Hi, Rachel. How are you? Thanks so much for having me on.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, we're really excited to learn about your business. So tell us about Lizzie Noble Events.

SPEAKER_01:

Absolutely. Um, yeah, so I am a wedding planner. I do all kinds of events, but primarily focus on weddings. Um I really just love to, you know, bond with my clients and build that relationship up. And I always love clients that want something a little different or interesting. And and I love to just bring their vision to life.

SPEAKER_02:

Wonderful. Well, now how did you get into this business?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, it's kind of like a long and winding road. So buckle up. Um, but I'm originally from Charleston, South Carolina. So I always kind of felt like hospitality and hosting was really something that, you know, my family always did and all my friends did, and everything was like themed, even just with a two or three-person dinner. So I feel like I always really enjoyed that aspect of entertainment. Um, and then I actually got started in events by way of politics. So um I was doing political fundraising and events for governors and senators and things like that in South Carolina. And then actually I jumped on the presidentials. So um I worked for Kamala Harris and Joe Biden and Pete Budajudge when they ran for president, and I was doing events for them. Um, and then that kind of got my next move going into DC. And so I moved up to DC to kind of continue this work. And I worked in the White House and at the vice president's residence, um, doing that kind of stuff. And it was fabulous. I loved it. Um, I definitely felt like I wanted to be a little bit more creatively fulfilled. So um after a little bit of doing political events, I kind of segued out and started my business. And I wanted to just, you know, be more creative and do the fun stuff, be a little less buttoned up, a little less stuffy. So I started Lizzie Noble Events and um grew it in DC. And then my husband had been bicoastal for a bit with his company. So I'd been starting to be bicoastal. Um, and then several months ago, he was like, let's get out of here, let's go to California. What are we doing in DC now? Um, now that I wasn't in political events anymore, there was not really anything tying us there. So um we moved in May. We made the full, full move. So I was doing events kind of coast to coast, and then I fully planted roots here and just finished up DC events pretty recently, and I'm fully in California doing California events, which is so exciting.

SPEAKER_02:

Wonderful. Well, now what do you think are some miss or misconceptions in your industry?

SPEAKER_01:

You know, I feel like there's this kind of overarching idea that like weddings are so expensive, everything's over the top, it's so unnecessary, you don't even need a planner, you know, like that there's the wedding industry is just all a money grab, kind of just like so overblown and ridiculous. And I've definitely heard people, whether they're planning a wedding or their daughter's planning a wedding, say these kinds of things and just feel like so frustrated and and gutted that, you know, oh my God, we can't afford this. And I'm seeing this on Instagram and you know, feeling this pressure. And I think a lot of it, like I say, is the social media, and you think that it's kind of this expectation that that's the standard. And it kind of it really breaks my heart when people say that because I just think you don't have someone that's on your side, you know, you don't have someone that's in your corner holding your hand saying, Girl, I got you. Like, let's talk about your specific vision, your budget. You know, how can we make something that's totally authentic to your relationship and your personality and feels good for you, you know? And we're not breaking the bank, we're not in huge debt, we're not getting stressed out all the time. And I think to me, it's just really indicative that you either don't have a planner at all or you don't have a good planner if you have one, you know. I think this is a fun time and it's exciting. And let's have fun. Let's we're planning a party, guys. Like it's not that that serious, you know?

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, yeah. Wonderful. Now, now we know marketing is really the heart of every business. So, how are you finding your clients?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, um, really, social media has been a lot. Um, Instagram is is my main way, TikTok as well. Um, so I've really been finding a lot of clients that way. Um, I'm at a lot of venues constantly, so I'm on their preferred vendor list quite a bit, but really mostly it's through social media and my website.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Now, have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?

SPEAKER_01:

You know, I haven't. People have told me that before because I can't stop talking ever. Um, so people have have told me about that. So I'm I'm trying to get more into the podcast. And um, you know, I've been my work has been featured in several publications and um magazines. So that's been really helpful for my marketing as well. But I need a podcast. I'm I'm feeling that right now. I feel like I should sign up for one.

SPEAKER_02:

Right. Well, now, outside of work, what do you like to do for fun?

SPEAKER_01:

You know, it sounds so cheesy, like kind of Indiana Jones vibes, but I just love to explore. I love, love, love like trying new restaurants. I'm such a net new person um that I hate like going back and doing the same thing over and over again. So I love going to new boutiques, checking out, you know, different areas, new restaurants, new bars, different beaches. Um, so I really love just like exploring and traveling, checking things out. I just got back from a three-week trip to Italy two three weeks ago, two, three weeks ago. So love to travel and just have a good time. Check things out.

SPEAKER_02:

I love it. Well, Lizzie, um, please tell our listeners one thing they should remember about Lizzie Noble events.

SPEAKER_01:

Absolutely. You know, I I really I think we kind of touched on it a little bit, but I really just want this to be a fun experience. I want my clients to know I've got their back that this is going to be fun, fabulous, and stress-free. And if you need events, whether it's weddings or birthday parties or, you know, job promotions, graduations, whatever, I do it all. So I really pride myself in being the type of person where we'll start with your wedding, then we'll do the baby's first birthday, then we'll do your birthday, you know, and and I'm someone that kind of grows with you through all your different stages of life. I'm I'm there for every celebration.

SPEAKER_02:

I love that. Now, how can our listeners uh learn more about Lizzie Noble Events?

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, definitely my Instagram, I would say, is how you can see just most of my work very quickly. Um, so that's at Lizzie Noble Events. And then um my website's really helpful.
