Welcome to the Good Neighbor Podcast. Now, if you're looking for a one-stop shop for all your cleaning services, whether it's for a residential property or a commercial property, well, that resource is closer than you think. Today I have the pleasure of introducing your good neighbor, Darien Johnson, with Janitors OC. Darien, how is it going? Hi, Rachel. It's going great. Well, wonderful. Well, we're really, really excited to learn about your business. So tell us all about your company.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, so here in Janitors OC, we're a one-stop shop cleaning service, and that's what sets us apart from the other local cleaning companies. So what that means is we do window cleaning, janitorial services, post-construction cleanup, and even power wash services for homes. And as far as the commercial properties, we do maintenance. So we'll maintain the properties, parking lots, um, trash cans, exterior windows as well, and whatever's need to maintain the property for that curb appeal.

SPEAKER_01:

Wonderful, wonderful. Well, how did you get into this business, Darien?

SPEAKER_02:

So I started in 2017. Um, funny, we started with auto detailing, and when we started with auto detailing, we decided we really wanted to be a one-stop shop, not just only cars. So we invested into a window cleaning system, a DI water tucker system to do window cleaning. And then from there, we just grew our business since so many clients really like the idea that they can call one person for cleaning services.

That's wonderful.

SPEAKER_02:

Now, what do you think are maybe some myths or misconceptions in your industry? Well, being that we started with auto detailing, it may scare some folks sometimes and they may not realize that we're experienced in other areas and they may think that only we know about cars. However, we've taken courses and done lots of training with all of the services we offer. So I do like to emphasize that we do more than just auto detailing, we're more so now a commercial and residential cleaning service.

SPEAKER_01:

Okay. Well, we know marketing is the heart of every business. So how are you finding your customers?

SPEAKER_02:

Well, um, Google's been great. Uh, we have five-star reviews on Google, so a lot of word of mouth um with our contractors. A lot of the clients that they pass us along to, they end up using us and keeping us on board. And they've been telling their friends and family. And with our SEO on Google, the word has just been spreading since we have those five stars.

SPEAKER_01:

Wonderful. Now, have you ever thought about doing your own podcast?

SPEAKER_02:

I haven't, but I I see it's getting really popular nowadays, and I actually watch some podcasts on YouTube here and there, so I I think it's a great idea. Wonderful. Now, outside of work, what do you like to do for fun? For fun, um, I like to go to the beach, stay in a point harbor with my family. I have a my wife, my beautiful wife, and I have a one-year-old and a four-year-old, two boys. Wonderful.
