The Gospel is good news, but above all, it is a radical exchange.
Jesus took everything that was wrong with us and gave us everything that is right in Him. 💛

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”
 — 2 Corinthians 5:21

In this message, we learned:

✨ On the cross, Jesus took our sin, guilt, shame, and punishment.
✨ In Him, we receive forgiveness, righteousness, a new identity, and access to the Father.
✨ We are ambassadors of Christ called to share the Good News.
✨ We live the gospel through our lives, our actions, and our relationships.
✨ Our testimony is a powerful tool to lead others to Jesus.

Jesus gave us a mission:

“Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”
 — Mark 16:15

👉 This is not a fair exchange… it is grace.
Now it’s our turn to share it.

And then it was a beautiful time there of worship. As Nadia said, we're so excited for Easter. So take those cards and tell your friends, hey, like as Nadia said, what are you doing for Easter? Come to church with me. You can practice that. Say that to the person next to you. Come to church with me. And it is it's this is the time where people are the most open to go to church. Historically, it's like the highest attendance in the US. And for us, it's been like that too. Last Easter, we had a great attendance. So, you know, it's it's a great time to invite people. You also have the message guide today. You can fill it out. And I would like us to say the declaration we have for our church. Let's say it together. Jesus is first in my life, his word is my guide, and I am what he says I am. He called me to be salt and light on this earth. His mission and purpose will be fulfilled in me. Do you believe it today? Amen. And we're we're in this series, Radical Like Jesus, but last Sunday we had our my brother-in-law, Adrian. Didn't he do an amazing job? Yeah, so good. If you didn't get to hear the message, go to the podcast or to our YouTube. It was incredible. And uh last time I spoke about radical prayer, and today I want to speak about radical exchange. Radical exchange. So a few months ago we were having our staff meeting. Sometimes we have it online, sometimes we have it in person, but we were having it online, and we were just there saying how we were. My husband was right on his laptop, and all of a sudden he goes, Oh my goodness, what happened? He spilled coffee all over his laptop, and it just, he's like, Oh my gosh, I have to go. And he was so worried. Well, he he ended up going to the Apple store, he had some information there, and then he remembered, Oh, I have Apple Care, right? So it's good to have Apple Care or warranty, and then they said, Oh, don't worry, you're gonna lose all your information, praise be to God, which he did, but uh fortunately he was able to recover what he needed, but then they said, Oh, we're gonna give you, we're gonna fix your computer, and basically you're gonna have a brand new computer, praise God, because he had warranty. So it's the same thing with us, with Jesus, right? We go to him broken, we go to him filled with our sin, and then when you get to him, you know what the warranty is? The blood of Jesus, right? So he's like, Oh, don't worry, you have the blood of Jesus. I'm gonna make you a brand new person, and that's what the blood of Jesus does. Can you praise God for that today? So, no matter how broken you are, how much sin you have in your life, you always have the blood of Jesus. And you know, sometimes we can mess up, we can fall from grace, but we can always run back to God. And one of the things also my my kids love to say, I don't know if you have kids or nephews or nieces, but their favorite thing to say in the world is it's not fair. Amen. Especially when they have siblings, right? You gotta give them everything exactly the same. Oh, you especially if it's dessert or ice cream. They're like, You gave my brother a tiny bit more ice cream, and you're like, Thank you, Jesus, for this time. Or like we're in the when they're in the car, he's touching my space, and you're like, thank you. And they're always like, Mom, it's not fair, right? And sometimes I have to tell them, guess what? Life's not fair, right? Get used to it, life's not fair. But you know, the gospel is pretty unfair, too, because if you think about it, we go to him broken, we give him our worst, right? We give him our sins, we give him our guilt, we give him our shame. And Jesus doesn't deserve all of that, but in return, what does he give us? Everything that's good, right? And he changes us, he's give he gives us his love, he gives us his grace, he gives us his forgiveness. So it's not fair, right? But how many of you are thankful for the blood of Jesus? It's that's what a radical exchange is. So once you receive the radical exchange, which is what Jesus' disciples received, then you gotta go and show it to other people. When Jesus was on earth, he was walking here for uh approximately after he started his ministry, he started his ministry when he was about 30 years old. So approximately for three and a half years, he taught his disciples what it meant to love people, to heal people, to be there with other people. But then he was crucified, and then he resurrected, which we're gonna celebrate next Sunday. Amen. That's the main day or the most important day for us as Christians, Easter Sunday. So make sure you don't miss that. That's so important. We're celebrating his resurrection. So he he was resurrected, but then he gave the disciples a mission, which is called the Great Commission, and uh it's Mark 16, 15. It says, then and he told them, go into all the world and preach the good news to everyone. Can you say that with me? Preach the good news to everyone. What does everyone mean? Everyone. So everywhere we go, we need to tell the good news about Jesus at the grocery store, at a soccer game. Everywhere you are, we need to tell others about Jesus at a party. And also, as Jesus was calling them, he's like, Come follow me, as Jesus was calling his disciples. You know, most of them were fishermen. So he he looked at them and he said, Come and follow me, and I will teach you how to fish for people. That's in Matthew 4, 19. So Jesus basically during during those three and a half years, he was teaching them to fish for people, he was showing them how to do it because after he was gone, guess what? It was up to them to spread the gospel, and that's what they did. If if you look at it, they they spread the gospel in Europe, in Asia, and and all those regions, and you know, later on it got here as well. Look at what 2 Corinthians 5 20 says, we are therefore Christ's ambassadors, and then it says, God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. So, what is an ambassador? Is someone who represents their country, or someone who represents a king. You know, my mom, she got the opportunity to be an ambassador many years ago. I was really young, but he was he represented Colombia in Brazil. So she she and I I got the opportunity to go to some of the meetings, but she wasn't talking on her behalf, she was talking on the president's behalf, and I saw that and I was like, wow, how cool. But now we have the opportunity to be an ambassador, and who do we represent? Our King, right? Jesus Christ. So everywhere you go, you get to be an ambassador, and what are we representing? Jesus, it says he had no sin, but he became sin for us, and then that in him we might become the righteousness of God. So you know the word Christian means little Christ. That's what the word Christian, and that word got popular after people started to get to know or to hear about the good news. They were like, Oh, here there goes the little Christ. So that's who you are. Tell the person next to you, you're a little Christ. You're a little Christ. So everyone's watching, you're a little Christ. So my job in God's family is to invite others to join God's family. And I want to talk to you just about two things. Number one is understand the exchange of the cross. Second Corinthians 5 21 says, God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God. So we see Jesus, he was always showing love and compassion for others. I don't know if you've ever received like a great gift and you're like, I don't deserve this, or maybe you've given a great gift to someone and you feel like proud, like, oh, I gave this person something that was like way out of my reach, but I went above and beyond. And recently I I saw my my kids, they went into my closet, and you know, they're just laughing and running, and I was like, what are they up to? And later on, I go and I see I have this wallet that you know pretty much has no cash, right? Um and basically once a week they my kids get like an allowance, you know, but because uh of their if if they did their chores or because of their behavior and all these things, and they might get seven or ten dollars or less. So they don't make much money, right? But they do make some money. So then they're like, I see the wallet and it has like$50 that they put all filled with like one dollar bills, and I'm like, what's up? And they were like laughing, and they were like, Mom, we saw that you had no money. We wanted to give you some money. I'm like, oh, that's sweet. And I try to give it back. I'm like, no, it's okay, I don't need it. You guys keep it. No, please, we won't take it back. Please, it's yours. I'm like, okay. They feel good by giving, right? So I'm like, wow, that's so cool. Because if you think about it, for them that's a lot of money, right? That they're giving. So I'm like, oh, that's that's so sweet. So when and imagine that when you speak to others about Jesus, that's giving them a like a super amazing gift that is like, wow, you know, it's your testimony. Who in here has been saved by the blood of Jesus? Or you've been saved and you have like something to give. So I think one of the greatest feelings in the world is we can when you can share the gospel, right? And the person or the person comes to church and you see them doing the sinner's prayer, and you're like, Yes. So it's like you gave them the greatest gift ever. And and that's what the radical exchange is, because if you think about it, you Jesus never sinned, never failed, never rebelled, and he took our sin, our guilt, our shame, our punishment. And what do we for what do we receive in return? His forgiveness, his righteousness, his identity, his access to the Father. So that's the exchange of the cross. And I think the greatest gift anyone can have is having the revelation of the cross. And I remember when I had it, it was probably at a at a retreat we had at our church. I was about 12 years old. Even though I had always grown up in church, that was the time when I was like, I really gave my heart to Jesus. And then I I I understood, oh, Jesus died for my sins. It became personal. I was just there kneeling and giving my heart to the Lord. And I was like, wow, I am born again. Even though I had made the prayer many times, but it's like I had the revelation of the cross, and that's incredible. So if you've never had it, ask God to give you. It's a revelation. And and what does it mean? It means like you feel like you're the biggest sinner in the world. Because a lot of people they're like, oh, but I I'm not that bad, you know, I haven't killed anyone, but I don't do big things, like you're always comparing yourself. You're like, but I don't do drugs, or I don't do that, or I don't hurt anyone, you know. You we're always trying to be like, we're good. But you gotta feel like you're the worst in the world. It's like the apostle Paul said, Jesus came for the sinners, and I am the biggest sinner of them all. So that's what the revelation of the cross means. So really understand the exchange of the cross, and number two, live, you gotta live the exchange. And that's Matthew 5, 16. It says, in the same way, let your line shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. It says, Let your light shine before others. You know, we need to be an audio and visual believer. People are always watching. You need to walk the talk. If people like what they see, they're gonna listen to what you have to say. They're always checking the messenger first because before they believe the message. And people wanna really first get to know you many times. And it says in Romans 12, 13, it says, share with the Lord's people who are in need and practice hospitality. We need to become friendly, be friends with other people, welcome them into our home or or just be super friendly with them. And I remember that's how we started Mission Orlando Church, this church. We we moved here, we didn't know anyone, and we were like, God, we need friends, right? We need friends, we need to start telling others about Jesus, and then through referrals, we just started texting people. Hey, you want to go for coffee? Hey, you want to go have lunch? Hey, you wanna go have dinner? And sometimes we would be at a Starbucks so many hours, like 10 coffees, right? A day, lunch, dinners, go to people, go into people's houses, and you know, we just built a family out of nowhere. So, in the same way, you gotta do the same thing. You gotta listen to people, you gotta be where they are, and we still do that to this day. Me and my husband, we still have people over all the time. We still we're still getting to meet people, you know. Some of the people, like our friend Martha, who still comes to church, she's such a friendly girl. And then she would like, Pastor, come to my house. And then she would have like 20 of her family members right there. Now tell them about Jesus. And they were like, Okay. So it's it's great when you meet people like that. And and some of the things right there that you gotta realize, number one, is that everybody I meet has the same longings that I do. Everybody you meet has the same longings that you do. Because you didn't stop being becoming a human being because you came to Christ. And and people realize they can't fill their void with sex, status, and position. Everyone's looking for significance. The next thing is that everybody has the same questions. Everybody wants to know who am I? Where did I come from? What happens after life, and what is my significance? Everybody has those same questions. Next thing is anybody could be saved if you listen, if you listen to the key to their heart. Romans 3.23 says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. You know, everybody will have hurts, we'll have habits, because we live in a broken world. But if you can discern these things, how do you discern them? By listening to people. And then you can discover how you lead them to Jesus. And you need to ask questions. And more than telling them, because a lot of times we just want to, you know, just talk to them and preach to them. You need Jesus. But a lot of times listen. Everybody loves it when you listen to them. And then when you listen to them, and after you listen to them, they're telling you they're hurt or you're kind of discerning where it's going. You gotta practice something. It's tell me more. Say that. Tell me more. And you don't have to do all the talking, trust me. When you when you just listen to people, they're gonna get so excited and they're gonna say, Wow, I love that guy. Well, I love that girl. And then after you've listened to them, then you can say your story. Because a lot of people say, like, oh, but I I don't know the Bible that much. You don't need to know the Bible that much, but you can tell them what Jesus has done in your life, how you got saved, you know, you were broken, or maybe God healed you from a disease or from a sickness. Everybody has a story to tell. So tell them your story. And lastly, like you gotta bring them to church. Studies show that people come to come to Christ quicker in the context of a larger group. When you bring them to church and they see more believers, they see a lot of people worshiping God, they might see it, say, like, oh, I'm not the only crazy one, right? Everybody here is weird, right? You're not the only weird one. We're all weird. So welcome to the house of the weirdos. Amen. Um, and because what? Because God wants his house to be full. Look what Luke 14 23 it says, then the master told his servant, go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in so that my house will be full. So this there's a parable that Jesus was saying, like go speak to anyone, anyone who is willing to come, just tell them to come to the roads, same thing to groceries, to anywhere, because I want my house to be filled and imagine if you had a cure for cancer or AIDS. Imagine if you if if you were able to discover that cure, but you wouldn't want to share it to anyone. That would be a crime, right? Because you have this amazing cure. But imagine like the gospel is bigger than any cure for cancer or AIDS, because it's the salvation for their souls for eternity. So you have the biggest cure in the world, and a lot of times you just don't want to share it, but we want to keep it to themselves. And and I'm so blessed to hear what God's done in this church. Like recently, I heard this girl, she actually shared her testimony. When she first came to church, she had a lot of anxiety. I don't know who invited her. She had a lot of anxiety, she had panic attacks, and we always sit people from the front to the back, right? As they get in. So be early, everyone. And uh she's like, Oh, I don't want to sit in the front. Like, I get panic attacks, I get anxiety, uh, I want to sit in the very last row. So the people from the welcome team, they they're like, Okay, we we understand. So they actually, one of the girls sat with her for that first service, and she was calm the whole service. She kept coming back, and then she kept coming back. She was sitting more and more towards the front, and it was a process. The Lord started started healing her heart, she started being set free from all her anxiety, from all her panic attacks, and she now she sits in the front row, so it's amazing. And and not only that, but um in our last rally, she was here on the stage and she was giving her testimony. Imagine what the what the blood of Jesus can do, what the gospel can do, is a complete transformation. How many of you can praise the Lord for that? So that's that's what happens when you bring people to church. Everybody wants to belong to a family, and I'm so grateful because, as I said, now we have so many friends and some great family members, even our neighbors who've come to Christ, they're now family, and you can have that. You can have family, you you can belong here, but you're also called to share the gospel, which is the greatest and the most radical exchange you could ever experience. Can you say amen? Amen. Let's all stand and let's praise Jesus today and say thank you, Jesus, for the cross. Thank you, Jesus, because at the cross we find salvation, at the cross we find you, Jesus, and we can now live, Father, this radical exchange. And if perhaps you've come here with hurts, perhaps you've come here feeling sad, or you feel Like, oh, I have too much sin in my heart. I don't know if I can come to Christ. Maybe you've known Christ, you had a used to have a relationship with Him, but then you went away for a while, and you're returning to the Lord. And you can say, God, I thank you because I get to come back. And you receive me with open arms, Lord. Help me to experience the revelation of the cross. Help me to experience, Lord, your love, Jesus. We need you, Lord. And help us, Lord. To have for the compassion you had. Because the Bible says that Jesus saw the multitudes and he had compassion on them, Lord. We want to have that compassion. Say, Lord, I want to love people the way you love them, Jesus. I want to love them, Lord. I want to care for them, Lord. And ask Jesus maybe to show you one person that you could pray for this week. Say, Lord, get show me at least one friend that I could pray for and invite to church, Lord. If I can make a difference in one person, Lord, that person's gonna receive salvation. Salvation not just for the time on earth, but for eternity, Jesus. Because we're talking about souls, Lord. Thank you. Just lift up your hands and say, Jesus, give me your compassion, give me your love for this people, for this city, for people, Lord. Thank you, Lord, for as we're starting holy week this week, Jesus. And as we're starting holy week, Jesus, that during this whole week, we can be reminded of your time here, that you're that last week here on earth, Jesus. We're getting closer, Jesus, to celebrate Good Friday, Lord. That we can also remember that your sacrifice was not in vain, Jesus. Thank you for coming down on earth and saving us and restoring us, Jesus, forever, Lord. We declare that this is a week of salvation, a week where we get to tell others the good news, Lord. Show us, Lord, who to tell, who to invite to church, Lord. We pray for Easter Sunday, Lord, next Sunday, Lord. We pray that hundreds of people, thousands of people will get to know Jesus, Lord, in this church, Lord, and even in all the churches here in Orlando, in the United States, Jesus, because Jesus is the hope of the world, Lord. We need Jesus, Lord. We need Jesus, Lord, and we need people, Lord. We need people to become hungry for you, hungry for the gospel, Lord. Oh, how we need you, Lord. How we need you, Lord, and and say, Lord, I wanna I wanna be hungry for you this whole week. That we might be Father seeking you even more this whole week in prayer. Thank you, Lord. We get to to remember your sacrifice and not only remember it, but also live it. Because your sacrifice wasn't just for 2,000 years ago, it has the same power today that it did 2,000 years ago. It has the same power today, it has the power to save, it has the power to heal, it has the power, Father, to deliver, to set us free. And I feel the power of the Holy Spirit is in this place. The power of Jesus is in the put in this place, the power of the Holy Spirit is in this place, the power of his blood is here. Say, Lord, thank you for your blood. Thank you for your blood. Thank you for your blood, Jesus. That is setting us free, that is delivering us, Jesus.
