There are moments when we feel stuck, without a way out, without hope… but today God reminds us of something powerful: stop crying, the Lion of the tribe of Judah has won. 🦁✨

“Stop weeping! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed…”
 — Revelation 5:5

Humanity was lost, marked by sin…
“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard.”
 — Romans 3:23

Jesus paid the price for our sin, yet many are still not walking in that victory. Today is an invitation to accept His sacrifice and begin a real relationship with God.

In this message we learned:
✨ Jesus already won, our story does not end in defeat
✨ Salvation is not earned, it is received
✨ There is a new opportunity to begin again
✨ In the middle of chaos, Jesus gives us true peace

“So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus.”
 — Romans 8:1

“This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person.”
 — 2 Corinthians 5:17

“I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me.”
 — John 16:33

👉 Don’t look at your circumstances, look at the Lion
👉 He fights for you, He already won for you

Today we celebrate the resurrection, the greatest news of all: Jesus is alive, and in Him there is salvation, hope, and peace.

And I want to start by repeating or doing the declaration we always do as a church. So if you know it, say it with me. If you don't, then it's on the screen. You can just follow along. Say with me, Jesus is first in my life, his word is my guide, and I am what he says I am. He called me to be salt and light on this earth. His mission and purpose will be fulfilled in me. Amen. Amen. Amen. So I found something funny, and uh please, today I really need your help. Please, please, please. Okay? Even if you don't find it funny, laugh. Even if you don't understand this first one, please help me out. It's Easter, so help me out. If some if somebody is full of insight, are they insightful? If they're full of beauty, are they beautiful? If they're full of wonder, are they wonderful? If they are full of awe. Okay. If you understood that, you're in the right place. So a guy calls 911 and the operator answers and says, What's your emergency? He says, A guy got hit by a car and we need an ambulance. She says, What's your location? He says, I'm on Eucalyptus Street. She says, Can you spell that for me? Long pause. Then he says, I'm gonna drag him over to Pine Street and I'll call you right back. He was probably Latino, okay? Alright, so today's message I have titled, I put it as a title, The Lion Has One. Can you say that with me? The Lion has one. Say that to the person next to you. Tell them the lion has one. If we read Matthew chapter 28, verse 6, it says, He's not here, and this is what today is all about. The disciples were confused, his uh master, his teacher was gone, and they go look for him, and they find themselves in a with a big surprise, and they say he's not here, Matthew 28, verse 6. He has risen just as he said, Come and see the place where he lay. And it is such a powerful declaration because on Friday, Friday night, the enemy thought he had one. The enemy thought he defeated God, and he thought he had power over humanity. But then Sunday came, and on Sunday we found that Jesus was risen, and it says, He's not here, he is alive. And if we read another passage, and this is the passage that I want to uh talk about today, it's Revelation 5.5. A few months ago, God gave me this verse, and as I was reading it, it really something came up, something came alive inside of my heart when I read this passage. I don't know if it has happened to you, but you're sometimes you're just reading the Bible and you find this verse that just jumps out of the Bible. As I was reading Revelation, this verse just popped up and it says, Then one of the elders said to me, Do not weep. See the lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed. He's able to open the scroll and its seven seals. Amen and amen. I want to use it as a declaration and as a prophecy for many of you today. It says, See the Lion of Judah. He is the root of David, he has triumphed, and he's able to open the scroll. And it says, Do not weep. Sometimes we are focusing on the wrong thing. But today, God is telling us, put your side, put your eyes on Jesus. And today, Easter Sunday, is the perfect day when we can just turn our eyes to Jesus. So tell to the person, say to the person next to you, say, turn your eyes to Jesus. Have you ever missed an important call? Like, you know that phone call that you that you couldn't miss and you you missed it? Or one time it happened to me that I received a letter and I didn't open it, I just left it in the kitchen counter. And then my wife found it, and she's like, Oh, what is this letter doing here? It's not nothing important. Let me just throw it away. And inside it was a check for three thousand dollars. Yes. I was shocked. I was like, where's that letter? And on her defense, she said, Well, it's been here for more than a week. I'm like, Yeah, you have 30 days. So I was eventually gonna do it. Thank God she went out, dig through the trash, and she found it. She's like, here's your letter. It was a little wet, but I was able to I was able to cash the check, deposit the check, and uh we're still married. So many people live their life with that letter in their kitchen counter, or maybe you have that letter in that table in that night nightstand right next to your bed. You have your Bible, but you have it closed. You haven't really opened God's gift to you, and and today it's all about finding God's gift that maybe it's been there all along, and we haven't taken the step to open it. So it says, Do not weep, see the Lion of Judah. The the prophet who wrote this, prophet John, he wrote this and and and it came through a vision that he had of the end of times. So he saw the past and he saw the end of the world. And in in that passage, he received this word that says, Do not weep, see the Lion of Judah, look at the Lion of Judah. And he was crying because he couldn't open the book, it was sealed with seven seals, and he couldn't find anyone to open those seals. I don't know if many of you, I don't know if if you have felt like life is sealed, like like you feel stuck. Have you ever tried to like advance in a career, maybe in your family? Many many of us have said, I will never be like my parents, I will never do what my dad did. A few years later, you find yourself doing the same thing, right? Has it happened to you? I remember you know, my dad, like sometimes he will get like aggravated because we were like, you know, he was a dad of three boys, and we were always fighting. Our favorite game was karate, like that's that was our favorite game, and we'll always you know fight in the car, and as my wife was saying, like, fighting for the space, like, oh, he's he's touching my space. So imagine living that with three boys, it's horrible. So he'll get mad, and then at the end of the day, a long day, he will yell, and he'll be like, please stop. And I remember back then saying, I'll never do that to my kids. Fast forward 2026. My kids are fighting for the space, but now they're not even fighting for the space in the seat, they're fighting for the like invisible space. Oh, he's on my space. Like, no, no, no, he's yeah, he's going over his hand in the air. This is my air bubble. Now they call it my personal space. And at the end of the day, I'm like, please stop. I'm like, oh, as soon as I said it, I'm like, oh, I said I was never gonna do that. And and you you get stuck. Maybe you say, like, oh, my family, we didn't have much money. Now it's gonna be different. And now you find yourself in the same cycle, in the same space. Many of our lives find that complication where we we we feel like we're not advancing. Maybe you said, Well, if I move to this place, everything will be different, and you moved and you find yourself in the same in the same spot. So if you find yourself in a situation that is sealed, you you need to look at the Lion of Judah. You need to put your eyes, not in this situation, but you need to put your eyes onto Jesus. If we read verse 1, John he wrote, Then I saw the right hand of him who sat on the throne, a scroll with the writing on both sides, and sealed with seven seals. So John was able to see God the Father. And he saw God the Father. Verse 3 and 4, it says, But no one in heaven or on earth or underneath the earth could open the scroll or even look inside it. I wept and wept because no one was found who was worthy to open the scroll or look inside. Without someone worth it, there is no justice, no redemption, and no no future. So he was able to see the father, but he wasn't able to get close to the father. Maybe we're able to see God, to know that God is real, that he exists, but there is no way to get to the Father if not by Jesus Christ. He is the Lion of Judah and He's able to open the scroll to open any situation. If you feel stuck in life, let me tell you, today God is telling you, look at the Lion of Judah. He is your savior, and he has defeated, he has conquered, he's worth it. And many of us we can ask our that question, why do we need a savior? God is a God of justice. Romans 3.23 it says, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. So the resurrection is not is not good news if you understand first that there is bad news. The bad news is that we have all sinned and we deserved death. That's the bad news, that's a reality. But now, because of that, we can understand that we have Jesus who came to the earth and died on the cross and rose on the third day so we can experience a new life. How many of you are grateful for his sacrifice for us? Amen. So the same one who can judge you is the only one who can save you. So God is a God of justice. God is a guy, a God who punishes sin, but God is the same God who can save us from sin. If we read not only verse 5, but if we go on to read verse 6, the the prophet hears that voice that says, Look at the Lion of Judah. Look at the Lion of Judah. He has defeated, he won the victory. But if we read verse 6, it says, Then I saw the lamb looking as if it had been slain, standing at the center of the throne. So we see the two sides. God is a God of justice, he's the lion of Judah, he will fight for you. But as soon as the prophet heard those words, look at the lion, he looked and he found a lamb. He found Jesus who was slain for our sins. So if we go to Romans verse 6, I mean chapter 6, verse 9, it says, For we know that since Christ was raised from the dead, he cannot die again, death no longer has mastery over him. So he didn't just make it possible, he did it, he overcame the devil, he overcame death, so you're no longer stuck. If you're stuck today, if you feel like something is blocking your growth, if you feel you've tried many times over, maybe you've said, Well, this is the last time I do this, this is the last time I drink, this is the last time I fall into this vice, I fall into this. And you just go back to it again. Let me tell you, God today is telling you, He has given you the victory. You are more than a conqueror because you have the Lion of Judah who will fight for you, he's been fighting for you and he will fight for you. Amen. So Jesus opened for us five things that I want to mention. Today I want to tell you that the Lion of Judah he conquered. It says that he gave us victory first, he gave us salvation. Romans 8 1, it says, Therefore, there is no condemnation for those who are in Jesus Christ. So there is no condemnation. Maybe the enemy has been telling you that's it, you're done. Maybe something bad, you're you're going through a difficult time, and the enemy is telling you that's because you sinned. Maybe you've been trying to pray for something, and as soon as you want to pray, the enemy tells you there is no reason for you to pray because look at what you did in the past. Let me tell you, God came, Jesus came to give you salvation. The second thing is hope for a new beginning. Today is a day of hope for new beginnings. Today is a day where you can say, I can start again my relationship with Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5 17, it says, Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come, the old has gone, the new is here. Can you say that with me? The new is here. Say it again, the new is here. We always say this church is a church of new beginnings, and today could be a new beginning for your life. The next thing is grace for difficult times. The prophet was experiencing a difficult time in his vision, he felt stuck, he was crying because he saw no hope, no response, no one worthy to open the book. But Hebrews 4:16, it says, Let us then approach God's throne of grace with confidence so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. If you're going through a difficult time, there is hope for you this morning. The next thing is peace. John 16 33 it says, I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble, but take heart. I have overcome the world. So we can have peace today. Today you can receive the peace that overpasses, that overcomes, that goes above all understanding. Maybe many people don't understand why you have peace. I remember back in the day, 30 years ago, my mom was driving, we were in the car, and we went into a we we we we had a car crash, a car accident, and it was horrible. Our car spun like many times. In those days, no seat belts were like common, especially in Colombia. Actually, I was sitting, I was a kid, and I was sitting in the front seat in the passenger seat. My brother was sitting next to me, so it was like two people in the front. I was like, we survived the 90s. You're a survivor. If you're from the 80s or 90s, you're a survivor. And no airbags, no nothing, and it was a very, very difficult accident. But throughout the whole thing, I could say we had God's peace. We receive the peace of Jesus. And my dad arrived to the scene, he saw the car wreck, he was amazed that we were alive. Next day he goes to his job and his boss asked him, Oh, so how's your family? And he says, Well, they're good, but thank God they're all fine. And we were able to preach to the lady who was driving the other car who was responsible for the accident. It was her fault. His boss couldn't believe it. He's like, I cannot understand why you have so much peace in the middle of such a difficult moment. That's the peace that only Jesus can bring. And because of that, he, his boss, my dad's boss, gave his life to Christ and he served the Lord until his last breath. Because that's the Jesus we serve. Come on, praise Jesus. He came to give you peace. He also came to give you victory. So that's why it says, look at the Lion of Judah. If you're going through a difficult time today, if you need hope, if you need peace, today God tells you, just look at the Lion of Judah because He will fight for you. He's fighting for you today, He will fight for you tomorrow, He will be with you all the days of your life. It says on 1 Corinthians chapter 15, verses 55 to 57 Where, O death, is your victory? Where O death is your sting? But thanks be to God, He gives us the victory through our Our Lord Jesus Christ. So He gave you victory. He gave you victory. He gave you victory over that situation. If you're waiting for an answer, He gave you victory already because you have Jesus on your side. Just remember, He will fight for you. Come on, praise Jesus if you believe it. I want to finish with this. What's a response? What should be a response? If you know that the Lion of Judah is on your side, if you know he's fighting for you, our response should only be one, and that response is worship. Revelation 5, verse 12, it says, in a loud voice, they were saying, Worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise. So our response should just be praise. If you're going through a difficult time, if you feel you've been stuck in your life, let me tell you, your response is praise. Worship Jesus, look at the Lamb, look at the Lion of Judah, He will fight for you. He's here today, he's here this morning. Come on, praise Jesus. Amen. I want to invite you to stand, and as we stand today, as the prophet heard those words, I want to tell you the same words. See, look at the Lion of Judah, he has defeated, he overcame, he gave you victory. So I don't know what you're going through, I don't know what the struggle has been. I don't know if today you need a new beginning. If you look at the Lion of Judah, you will know that He's fighting for you, He will fight for you, He's gonna be with you. Jesus overcame so you can have a new life. Romans 10 9 says, if you declare with your mouth, Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from death, you will be saved. So right there where you are, just raise your hands and let's pray for a moment. Lord, thank you because we know that you overcame death. Thank you, Lord, because today we know that you are here with us and we praise you with all of our hearts. We know that you're in this place. If you need a new beginning, right there where you are, place your hand over your heart. Maybe you've been stuck, maybe you've been in a cycle where you see that things maybe are not going the way you're you expected. Maybe you feel like the odds are against you. Maybe you've been feeling like you've been trying and trying and trying, and apparently nothing has been working. Today the Lord tells you, look, don't put your sight, your eyes on the situation, but put your eyes on the Lion of Judah. Put your eyes on Jesus, get to know Jesus, and you will know that He defeated the enemy, He defeated that situation, that you can find peace, you can find a new beginning, a new start. Because Jesus is on your side and he's fighting for you. Lord, today I pray for every person that has their hand over their heart. I declare new beginnings. I declare victory in the name of Jesus. We praise you, Jesus.
