God is looking for a generation that seeks Him with all their heart. 

In this message from Psalm 24, we discovered that God desires to dwell in clean hearts and is raising a generation marked by integrity, purity, and a genuine pursuit of His presence.  

“Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His holy place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart…”
— Psalm 24:3–4

In this message we learned:

 God requires clean hands and a pure heart.
 Integrity is built through the small decisions we make every day.
 Purity is a decision made before temptation comes.
 God is not looking for a perfect generation, but for a generation that seeks His face.

“Come near to God and He will come near to you.”
— James 4:8

 Seeking God’s hand is asking for His blessings.
 Seeking God’s face is desiring Him above everything else.
 The greatest reward isn’t a blessing. It’s a deeper relationship with God.

Today uh I want to speak about the generation God is looking for. The generation that God is looking for. And during the this month, we've been studying the book of Psalms. All of these Psalms are songs. So today we're gonna be studying Psalm 24. It's a great psalm. I love it. So the generation God is looking for. So uh a few weeks ago we had the opportunity to go to Colombia, and we were by the beach, we were there like just having fun as a family, and one day we had a great idea. We said, why don't we go have breakfast uh at a place? So we were walking around the area, we saw a place. It was it didn't look very nice, very pretty. It looked like okay, pretty okay. But you know, with Latin food, sometimes the place is not nice, but the food's great, right? Sometimes. So we thought, okay, maybe this is a good time. This could happen today. So we went in and the place wasn't nice. We said, okay, let's try the food. So we ordered like the typical things like arepa, you know, arepita. We had like eggs and more things. But since we got there, my kids were like, No, mommy, we don't like it. We wanna we wanna leave. And I'm like, no, don't complain, be grateful. You know, it's gonna be great. So yeah, and um, then we started seeing some flies right like coming to our tables, and the food hadn't even come, or praise the Lord. So then the food came and we started seeing more and more flies, like a lot. And my husband was like the whole time just shooing away the flies, and the kids were like, ooh, mommy. Well, the food came and the food wasn't even good either. So nothing was going good at all. The whole time we were shooing away flies. We're just let's let's just get this over with. My mother-in-law was with us, and she's so funny. She she told the waitress, oh, maybe you should clean this place. There's a lot of flies, you know. So we were the waitress was like, Okay. So we we got out of there, and my little boy, he's seven years old, he's like, Mommy, could we never come back here again, please? I'm like, Yeah, don't worry. But those that's how human beings are, like, we don't like going to dirty places, amen. You don't like going to places where there's flesh, you know? And the Holy Spirit says, and the Bible says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So the same, the same thing happens to us. Like, God doesn't want to dwell in a place that is dirty. God doesn't want to dwell in a place that that has impurity. So this this psalm speaks about having a pure heart, and that's that's the generation God is looking for. Look at what Psalm 24, verse 3 says Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord, who may stand in his holy place, the one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false God. Say with me, clean hands and say pure heart. Say it again, clean hands, pure heart. And it's it's asking a question: Who may ascend to the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in his holy place? When we speak about the mountain of the Lord, we speak about Zion. The word of God speaks a lot about Zion or the presence of God. And a lot of people think that just anyone can go into the presence of God, but the the word of God is very clear, and it says that only those with what? Clean hands and pure hearts may go into his presence. Hebrews 12, 11 says, make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy. Without holiness, no one will see the Lord. So that's your number one pursuit. You want to say, Lord, I want to live a life of holiness. I want to have a pure heart. Isaiah 6, 5 says, Woe to me, I cried, I am ruined, for I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the king, the Lord Almighty. So Isaiah said this when he had an encounter with Jesus. The closer he got to his presence, the more he said, Woe of me, I am a man of unclean lips. And that's what happens to us as Christians. The more you get closer to God, the more you feel you're unworthy. A lot of people who don't have an encounter with the Lord, sometimes they feel that they're very holy. And I I know a lot of people who don't really know the Lord, they're like, Oh, but I I don't kill anyone, I don't murder, I haven't robbed anyone, so I'm good. I'm gonna go into God's presence. But these people, like the Apostle Paul, he's like, I am the biggest sinner of them all. So he felt like he was unworthy, and he felt like he really needed the purity, he really needed the blood of Jesus to cleanse him. And that's the price that a lot of people don't want to talk about. A lot of people want to enjoy the presence, but they don't want to pay the price. A.W. Tozer says, we want to be saved, but we insist that Christ do all the dying, no cross for us, no dethronment, no dying. So we just want that. We just say, oh, Jesus paid the price, and he did, and we we get salvation by grace. But how many of you know that there's a little price that we gotta make, right? We we gotta we gotta make a prize, and we see it in in Moses. Moses spent 40 years in the process in the desert before he actually saw the burning bush. David, he spent many years in the caves before he actually got to the palace. Joseph spent many years in prison before he got into the palace. So that's what we we we gotta pursue it. We gotta say, Lord, we wanna have clean hands and pure heart. So when he speaks about clean hands, it's a life of integrity. So do you really do what you say you're gonna do, right? A lot of times we say, Oh, it happens to me. I'm gonna be praying for you. Oh, I'm gonna pray for you. But do you actually pray for that person? Or oh, I'll call you back. Do you actually call them back? So now I gotta think like, am I just saying it to say it, or am I really gonna do it? So honor your word. That's what clean hands mean, like honoring your word, living it in integrity, being on time, amen. Latinos being on time. So honor your word. If you say you're gonna get somewhere, get that, get there at the time you say you're gonna be, because you're honoring your other people's time as well. Don't overcommit. You know, when you when you're like invited to a birthday party, but at the same time you have another commitment, and you're like, yes, I'll be there, or you don't even tell them anything. Maybe you could just say, like, oh, thank you for inviting me. I would love to be there, but I have another commitment. So don't overcommit, and so people then are gonna say, like, I'm not even gonna tell them because they don't show up and they don't they don't tell me the truth. So, like, really, really honor your word. And also in the little things, uh, I love listening to Joyce Meyer, and I remember she saying, like she was saying, like, how at a store when she grabs something, like an item, and then she's like, No, I'm not gonna take it. The Holy Spirit convicts her and is like, put the item back in its place, like all the way back. She's like, Really, Lord? So she goes. So every time that happens to me, I just think of Joyce Meyer, amen. And say, Okay, I might have to go all the way back and put it in. And it's the little things, you know. If God loves to dwell in clean places, and we gotta be some we gotta be people who have clean spaces as well. How's your car? Is your car clean? How's your closet? Is it clean? Uh when I tell my kids, oh, make your bed, clean your closet, mom. No one's gonna come today to visit. I'm like, so what? You we are people of order, we're organized, we gotta live in places that are clean. Proverbs 10 9 says, Whoever work walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out. So let's be people of integrity. And Diya Muri said, character is what you are in the dark when no one's watching. How are you behaving? And then so it the the Psalm keeps saying, and a pure heart. And the pure heart is winning the bottle before it starts. Matthew 5 8 says, Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. So the first thing is that we what we were been saying, God requires clean hands and a pure heart. Can you say clean hands and pure heart? And I love Matthew 5 8. It says, Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. In order to see God, in order to experience his presence, we gotta have a pure heart. I know a lot of people say, like, oh, it's been such a long time since I haven't felt the presence of the Lord. And maybe it's because they're living a life of sin. Maybe it's because they haven't repented, maybe it's because they haven't asked the Holy Spirit, convict me. And this is something that you gotta do daily. It's not like a one-time thing. Every day I go on my knees and I say, God, search my heart, see if there's impure thoughts, see if there's anything that I'm lacking, and make me more like you and show me. And the Lord will show me, stop talking to that person. It's not good for you. And then maybe the Lord will show him, show me, ask for forgiveness to that person. Something, the things that I absolutely don't want to do. Amen. Your flesh says, keep doing it. But the Lord shows you and you take action. So that's what pure in heart is is making a this a decision and say, Lord, you know my weaknesses, so search me. Search me. Maybe the Lord's gonna put in your heart, stop following these people on social media, or maybe he might even tell you, quit social media. Whatever the Lord tells you, entertainment, you know, say, Lord, would you watch these kinds of movies? Would you watch these kinds of shows? And the Holy Spirit's gonna convict you. We we were in Colombia, as I told you, and we were going through a store, my kids wanted to buy a toy, so we gave them money for the whole trip and said, You guys can spend it the way you want it, right? So one of my daughters went into a store without us being there, and then she came out with this toy. And then me and my husband, we were like, Oh, we don't really like that toy. And she was like, No, but it's nice. I'm like, and we were like, for some reason, we don't feel peace about it. Like, I don't like the face, I don't, I don't know, it's not giving us peace. And we just gotta pray before we make any kind of purchase. And she didn't really get it at first, but we're like, do the right thing, you know, return this toy and and buy something that gives us as the parents, we still have authority over our child. And and she did. And you know, at first she didn't really want to, but then she understood. So even little things like that, like buying a toy, pray about those things. And if if it doesn't really give you peace, just go ahead and make that change. Proverbs 4.23 says, Above all things, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it. Guard your heart. Tell the person next to you, guard your heart. And then 1 Corinthians 6.18 says, flee from sexual immorality. Can you say flee? So fleeing is going away, running away, like Joseph. When when Potiphar's wife kept pursuing him and going after him, he had to fly. That's what you need to do. And temptation is right there in your phone, it's one click away. So you gotta fly from those things. And the same thing, maybe the Holy Spirit is convicting you to make some serious changes in your life. It says, All the other sins a person commit are outside the body, but whoever sins sexually sins against their own body. And as I said, your body is the is the temple of the Holy Spirit. So if you any any sexual sin, you're committing a sin against the Holy Spirit. It says, Do you know not? Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have received from God? So that's the number thing. Number one thing. God requires what? Say clean hands, pure heart. Show your hands to the person next to you. Are they clean? Amen. And number two, if you want to write it there in your guide, it's God promises a deeper relationship with Him. Once you fulfill these requirements of having clean hands and a pure heart, then what do you get? A deeper relationship with Him. It keeps saying, Psalm 24, verse 5, it says, They will receive the Lord's blessing and have a right relationship with God, their Savior. So that's the blessing of the Lord, that you're gonna have a close relationship with God. And it says, verse 6, Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek your face, God of Jacob. So that is the generation God is looking for. God is looking for a generation of clean hands and pure heart. And if you if you do that, you're gonna receive the Holy Spirit. You're gonna have a closer relationship with God. That is the reward. The reward is not a blessing, but it's God Himself. Imagine that you're able to speak to God every day. Imagine that you are able to call God your friend, your companion. You're gonna be calling him, God, you are my friend. Because you don't want to have a relationship that's far away from God. You want to have a relationship as a friend. And how do you get to know God as a friend? When you start spending time with him, when you start spending time in the word, that's how you get closer to God. So when you seek his hand, you're seeking provision, you're seeking healing, you're seeking answers, and he wants to give you all of that because he's a God of miracles. But when you seek his face, you're desiring him above everything else. You're saying, God, I can't live without you. You're saying, like Isaiah, woe of me. I am a man of unclean lips, and yet I am here in his presence. That's how you're gonna feel, and that's the promise for you. It says, You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. How do you have to seek the Lord? Say with me, with all my heart. That's how you have to seek the Lord. Don't just seek him just a little bit, or just to maybe you're telling God, I'm just gonna give you a 40% of my life, 50% of my life. God wants you to give him your 100%. That is the generation God is looking for. And you know what? It keeps saying, verse 7, lift up your heads, you gates, be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the king of glory may come in. Who is this king of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle, he is the king of glory. When you seek him, you're gonna find the king, the king of glory. And who is this king of glory? He's strong and mighty. You know, a lot of people think of God as Santa Claus, he's just there in the sky, in the heavens, waiting for your requests and just coming down and giving you everything you need. But the Bible says that God is a God of war, he's a warrior. It says he's strong and mighty. If you read the Old Testament, you're gonna find that God is a God of war, and Israel was continuously in battles, and God was there fighting for them. So he's a God of war, he's a mighty warrior. So, as Christians, we gotta understand as well spiritual warfare because God is fighting for you. It says that he's mighty in battle, and he's gonna fight for those who seek his face. So the more you seek his face, the more you're in his presence, the more he's gonna fight for you. He is the King of glory, he is the sovereign Lord of all. And when you seek him, you're gonna start saying, Lord, you are my everything. You are the God of heavens, of earth, and everything belongs to you. That's how you should start your prayers every time you pray. Just speaking of the goodness of God, just declaring He's mighty, He's awesome, He's incredible. There's no one like the Lord. And Isaiah 40, 28 says, Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired of weary or weary. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. This is a word for you. Do you feel weak today? The Lord is your warrior, the Lord is fighting for you. He is the one who goes before you as the one who's gonna have the victory. Can you say amen? Because you have overcome by the power of the blood, he is fighting for you. Can you praise Jesus today? Amen, if you believe it, and and you know, seeking him is seeking him in prayer with all your heart. And and something that that me and my husband wrote when we started this church, we said, God, we want to be uh a church of prayer. So I encourage you to start every day at least five, ten minutes, fifteen minutes, reading the word of God and and just going into prayer. If you can join us Wednesdays at 6 a.m., we have an online prayer as well, it's very powerful, but it be more than that, it's like your everyday prayer with the Lord. That's how you get to know him, that's how you get to to hear his voice because we we live in a world that doesn't stop, right? And there's so much noise. So if you can get away from your phone and just get into the presence of the Lord and say, Lord, I want to seek you, I want to seek your face. And I was reading about the Welsh revival in 1904, and it started like that. A simple man called Evan Roberts with a few friends, they just started praying, and they just said, Lord, I just uh a lady said, I just really love the Lord. That's all she said. I just really love the Lord, and then they started having these meetings of prayer, they were simple meetings, just seeking God's face, seeking his presence, and then Evan started just speaking and preaching about how to get to know the Lord. Now with these few friends, over a year, a hundred thousand people gave their lives to the Lord. That's what prayer does, and not only that, it says that crime rates went down so much because when you live a God, a life for Christ, He convicts people of sin and they stopped murdering, they stopped committing all these kinds of sins, and they just want to seek the Lord. And God can do amazing things, He can do supernatural things, He can change people's lives. So let's seek the Lord, and you know, Psalm 24, it was a song that was most likely sung when the Ark of the Covenant was returned to Jerusalem. So the the gates were commanded to open. And and when they opened the gates and they took the Ark of the Covenant, the presence of the Lord was there. So God doesn't force his way into people's lives, his presence is not forced into people's lives. People have to open the gates. That's what the word says. You gotta open your the door of your heart and welcome him in. So think about this. Do you have clean hands? Is there integrity in your life? Do you have a pure heart? Can you say, Lord, wash me with your blood? Sanctify me today. And can you seek his face? And and today, as we as we worship, I just want to encourage you to ask the Holy Spirit for that. God, show me, show me your ways. Show me, Father, if there are things in my heart that I need to change. It's just the Holy Spirit who's gonna start convicting you. It's not your wife, it's not your parents, it's not your friends, it's just the Holy Spirit talking to you. Can you say amen? Amen. Let's let's stand and lift up your hands and say, Lord, I I just want you, I just want your presence, Lord. I just want to come into your presence, Lord. Who can come into the presence of the Lord? Who can come into his holy place? Only those who have clean hands and a pure heart. That is what I want to have, Lord. Show me, Lord. Show me if there are things in my heart that I need to change, Lord. Only you can show me, Lord. Convict me. Am I living a life of integrity, Lord? Am I living a life that Jesus is willing to dwell in, Lord? Is my life pure? Purify me. Just ask the Holy Spirit to purify me. Say, I pray today that the blood of Jesus will purify me, will sanctify me, sanctify me, Lord, because I want to live a life of holiness. I just don't want to come to church or read my Bible, but not really show you, show Christ in my life, Jesus. I really want you, Lord. And with your own words, just start declaring and asking God, I just want you. Nothing else, Lord. And as you hear this song, if you want to get on your knees or just lift up your hands or just seek Him the way you want, as you hear this song, just ask God, I want to have an encounter with you. Because that is the generation you're looking for. A generation that seeks your face, Lord. We want to have a revival in our hearts, Lord. Nothing else, Lord. Nothing else. As you hear this song, nothing else.
