Why Work With Me (and Broker Life Socials)

I’ve been in the Canadian mortgage space since 2005.

I started at Genworth Financial Canada, working inside the default insurer side of the industry for five years.
Then in August 2010, I became a licensed mortgage agent… and I’ve been in it ever since.

I’ve seen this business from every angle.
Underwriting. Broker side. Real client conversations. Real files.

And here’s why that matters

Marketing in this industry isn’t just about “posting consistently.”
 It’s about understanding:
 • how mortgage clients actually think
 • what they’re worried about (but not saying)
 • how to explain complex scenarios in a way that builds trust

That’s not something you can outsource to a generic marketing company.

Because if they’ve never:
 • structured a deal
 • explained a refinance
 • walked a client through a tough approval

…they don’t truly understand your client.

Inside Broker Life Socials, everything is written by someone who lives and breathes this industry.

So your content doesn’t just “look good”…
It actually connects, builds trust, and converts.

Work with Me

Inside Broker Life Socials, you can choose what fits your season of business:

• Done for you social media content
• Plug and play email marketing
Group coaching inside the Collective
1:1 custom content support

Simple. Consistent. Repeatable.

Welcome back to the podcast. I'm your host, Christina Crosby, and I'm so glad that you're tuning back in to the Mortgage Marketing Made Simple podcast. Today we're going to have a little chat, and I wanted to talk to you about something that hit me hard, really hard, during a course that I'm doing called Visibility School. Because the more I thought about it, the more I realized how many mortgage brokers, how many entrepreneurs, and just honestly, people in general are stuck because of this one thing. We think we need more information when what we what we really need is more repetition. So let me explain. Mortgage brokers are some of the smartest people that I know. We are constantly learning. We attend Zooms all the time with lenders, learning about new products, learning about our space. We have some really good trainings at our brokerages. You know, we listen to podcasts, we have really great mortgage Facebook groups, we join coaching programs, we attend conferences, you know, we read our lender emails, we learn new products, we learn new guidelines, things are always changing. You know, we learn new strategies, new technology, new AI tools, CRMs, we learn marketing systems, we learn, you know, sales techniques, we are constantly consuming information, and yet so many brokers are still frustrated with their results. Now, why is that? Because information is not usually the problem. Most brokers already know enough to be successful. They think, you know, they know they should be following up. They know they should be posting on their social media more, they know they should be emailing their database every single week. They know they should be building relationships, referral sources. You know, we know we should be asking for files, asking for referrals. All of these things, you know, we know we should also be staying visible. And the problem is that we don't know what to do. The problem is we're not doing the same things repeatedly long enough to make them work. Instead, we get bored, we don't see results immediately, and I think that's one of the biggest things I took away from this visibility school course that I'm doing. Most of us quit, most people quit because they're bored, not because the strategy stopped working. And I just want you to think about that for a second. Most people quit because they're bored, not because the strategy stopped working. Now, really think about that. They get, you know, bored talking about their one file type. For me, that's refinances. They get bored talking about first-time homebuyers, about debt consolidation, about self-employed borrowers. They kind of lose momentum and get bored posting on that one platform. For me, that's Facebook. Sending those emails, creating the videos, doing the things that will actually work, they get bored of. Meanwhile, their audience is hearing that message for the very first time. I think about this all the time when it comes to my own business. If you've followed me for any length of time, you've probably heard me talk about refinances. I talk about them all the time, multiple times a day on Facebook. Um, same with alternative lending, like the B side. I talk about refinances and alternative lending, bruise credit every single day, multiple times a day. You've also heard me talk about visibility. You've heard me talk about emailing your database every single week and how email marketing is not dead. You've heard me speak so many times about one platform, one file type, and one email to your database every single week. I talk about those things all of the time. Not because I don't have other things to talk about, not because I've run out of ideas, but because those are the things I believe in. Those are the file types I like working on, those are the clients I'm trying to attract, those are the things that have worked for me. They've helped my clients. And those are the things I want, I want to become known for in my space. And the funny thing is, sometimes people will say, Hey Christina, don't you get tired of talking about the same thing? Sometimes I do, but then I remind myself that what feels repetitive to me is brand new to someone else. What feels like the hundredth time I've said something, it may be the first time someone has heard it, that someone has absorbed it. That is one of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs, mortgage brokers make with their marketing. They assume everyone is paying attention, and I promise you they're not. Everyone who follows you does not see every single post. They assume you know everyone reads their emails, and they they don't, they won't. Um, not everyone listens to every single podcast. Most people are busy, and people are distracted. Most people are distracted. They're trying to survive their own lives, which means repetition is not a bad thing. Repetition is so required in marketing. Think about the brands you know best. Think about the people you follow on socials. Think about the coaches in our Canadian mortgage space that you learn from, because there are so many great people that put out a ton of free content. Think about the companies that you trust. They repeat their message consistently. They're not reinventing themselves every single week. They don't wake up every Monday looking for a completely different message. They know what they stand for and they repeat it over and over and over again. That is how they become known for something. I think a lot of us mortgage brokers are looking for that magic bullet, that magic pill. They're looking for that one post that goes viral, the one email that changes everything, the real that brings in a hundred leads, a hundred new followers, the strategy that suddenly fixes their business. But business usually doesn't work that way. Success is usually much more boring than boring. I can't say it boring than that. It's doing the right things over and over and over again, it's posting consistently, it's emailing consistently, it's following up all of the time, it's staying visible with your content consistently. And I learned about this in the visibility course that I'm taking, but nobody goes to the gym one time and expects to lose 50 pounds. You know, no one eats one healthy meal and expects to have abs. No one goes from walking and expecting, no one goes for one walk and expects to be in amazing shape. We all understand that fitness requires repetition. Yet when it comes to marketing, most of us expect one post to change our lives and change our business, one email to generate a pile of referrals, one video to make them famous. And when it doesn't happen that way, they quit. But marketing works exactly like fitness. Repetition creates results. The brokers who are winning right now aren't necessarily doing something completely new and unique, they're simply doing the basics longer than anyone else. They're emailing every single week, they're posting every single day, multiple times, depending on their platform. They're staying visible weekly. They show up while everybody else is chasing the next shiny thing. They're building trust. I think this is I think this is especially important right now because I do see so many brokers consistently looking for new information, a new course, a new coach, a new webinar webinar, new AI tool, lead sources, CRM, some sort of new platform strategy. And again, learning is important. I'm not saying not to learn or don't learn. I love learning, but at some point, you have to stop consuming and start repeating. You have to stop gathering information and start implementing. Because implementation is where the results happen. One thing that I've also noticed is that the most successful mortgage brokers I know aren't necessarily consuming more information than everyone else. They're simply executing it better. They're finding something that works and then they keep doing it. And they keep doing it long after everyone else has gotten bored and given up. That's the part that no one talks about. Success is often often found on the other side of boredom. Most people quit right before things start working. They quit because they're tired of talking about the same thing. They're tired of posting, they're tired of putting in the effort, and they quit. They got tired of emailing, and they quit because they don't see immediate results. Meanwhile, the people who keep going start building more momentum. Invisibility school, we talk about becoming a category of one. And when I think about becoming a category of one, I don't think it's about creating a new message every week. It's about repeating the same message until people associate that message with you. For me, I want people to think about refinances. I want people to think about the V space, alternative lending. I want people to think about visibility, email marketing. I want them to think about consistency. Not because those are the only things I do, but because those are the things I've chosen to become known for. And I think every mortgage broker should ask themselves that question. What do I want to become known for? Then once you've answered that question, repeat it. Repeat it in your posts, repeat it in your emails, in your videos, in your reels, in your conversations. Repeat it until people start associating your name with that topic. That's how authority is built. It's not built through information. Authority is built through repetition. Trust is not built through information. Trust is built through repetition. Visibility is not built through information. Visibility is built through repetition. Referrals are not built through information. Referrals are built through repetition. I think when I think about broker life socials, I could probably build my business for the next five years. You know, talking about refinances, debt consolidation, visibility, email marketing, the B space. Those topics alone could probably carry thousands of posts, hundreds of emails, and years of podcasts, hundreds of files, because there is always another angle, another story, another lesson, another example, another client situation, another question. The content is never the problem. The repetition is usually the problem. So the challenge I want to leave you with this week, I want you to think about something you've posted about fewer than 10 times. Because you think you've already talked about it too much, but you're just beginning, you're just starting. Maybe it's refinances like myself. Maybe you love working with first-time home buyers. Maybe it's self-employed borrowers. Debt consolidations on the B side, bruised credit. You know, it could be net high net worth programs or rental properties. Whatever it is, I want you to create 10 more posts about that topic. Five more emails about that topic, three more videos about that topic. Not because you're out of ideas, because you're finally giving that message enough repetition to actually work. Now remember, I post multiple times, at least two times a day on Facebook, about refinancing. And also remember, you don't need more information. You probably don't need another course. You don't need another strategy. You don't need another shining, shiny, distractive object. You need more repetition, more consistency, visibility, commitment to the things you already know, you've already learned. Because the people winning right now in this business, in our great Canadian mortgage industry, are not always the smartest people in the room. They're often the people willing to repeat the basic, the basics, sorry, longer than everyone else. I really appreciate you tuning in for this episode and thanks for listening. And if this resonated with you or you have any questions about the posts, videos, emails, please send me a message. Tell me what topic you're going to commit to repeating over and over for the next 90 days. And I'd love to hear what lane you've chosen and why. And what you're going to become known for. I'll see you in the next episode.
