Good morning and welcome. I'm Father Tom Roy, the vicar of the Daily Office Network. The Daily Office Network is a community of Christians who gather together on a daily basis to pray morning prayer from the Episcopal Church's Book of Common Prayer. We mix in artwork. We have a news story. We come from several different faith traditions in several different countries, and all are welcome here where we do our best to exercise tolerance and decency with one another. Now let's settle in and begin morning prayer. It is Wednesday today, the middle of the month. It is the 15th of July, 2026. In the life of the church, it is a Wednesday in proper 10, meaning we have no saint that we recognize today. Daily Office Network is podcasting. The Lord said to Joshua, This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, so that they may know that I will be with you as I was with Moses. And that's the governor of Minnesota holding up a proclamation. Minnesota returns 3,400 acres of land to an indigenous nation. The state of Minnesota has returned 3,400 acres of land to the Fond du Lac band of Lake Superior Chippewa. To the band, the land represents far more than a piece of property. Tribal leaders describe the forest as part of their ancestral homeland and a place connected to their cultural traditions, responsibilities, and relationships with nature. The University of Minnesota, which has operated the Forestry Center on the Land for decades, will continue its research activities while both sides develop long-term agreements focused on education, conservation, and forest management. The partnership is expected to expand collaboration rather than end the scientific work. Future efforts will include forestry research, wildlife management, youth education, natural resource stewardship, forest health, and climate resilance. This was a really good news story to see. Amen. Thank you, Joe and Martha. That was a great reading. Icon of Saint Joshua, son of nun. Scroll says, Be strong and courageous. Do not be cowardly or fearful, for the Lord is with you, all is with you in all things wherever you go. Our reading is from Joshua chapter three, verses one through thirteen. Chad, would you lead this one?

Early in the morning Joshua rose and set out from Shetim with all the Israelites, and they came to the Jordan. They camped there before crossing over. And at the end of three days the officers went through the camp and commanded the people. Follow it, so that you may know the way that you should go. For you have not passed this way before. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, a distance of about two thousand cubits. Do not come any nearer to it. Then Joshua said to the people, Sanctify yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you. To the priests, Joshua said, Take up the Ark of the Covenant and pass on in front of the people. So they took the Ark of the Covenant and went in front of the people. The Lord said to Joshua, This day I will begin to exalt you in the sight of all Israel, so that they may know that I will be with you as I was with Moses. Joshua then said to the Israelites, Draw near and hear the words of the Lord your God. Joshua said, By this you shall know that among you is the living God, who with the mouth flail will remember the mouth from before you, the Canaanites, Hittamites, Hivemites, Perizamites, Gergeshemites, Amorites, and Jebusites. The ark of the covenant of the Lord of all the earth is going to pass before you into the Jordan. So now select twelve men from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe, and when the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, the Lord of all the earth, rest in the waters of the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan flowing from above will be cut off, and they shall stand in a single heat. A hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in, and so all Israel will be saved, as it is written, out of Zion will come the deliverer, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob, and this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins. As regards the gospel, they are enemies of God for your sake, but as regards election, they are beloved for the sake of their ancestors, for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable, just as you were once disobedient to God, but have now received mercy because of their disobedience, so they have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you, they too may know receive mercy. For God has imprisoned all in disobedience, so that he may be merciful to all. Sure. Jesus said, When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on the throne of his glory. All nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and he will put the sheep at his right hand and the goats at the left. Then the king will say to those at his right hand, Come, you that are blessed by my father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food. I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger and you welcomed me. I was naked and you gave me clothing. Thank you, Marcia. We have no saint of the day today, otherwise their picture would be here, and we'd have a little uh ditty about them and tell you more about the saint of the day, but we have a program here I'm going to tell you about. Today is National Give Something Away Day. It's an annual U.S. observance and it's held on July the 15th. It encourages people to give away possessions, time, skills, and acts of kindness without expecting anything in return. It was created in 2015. It's become a grassroots reminder to practice generosity, reduce waste, and strengthen communities through simple acts of giving. Like many awareness and appreciation days, it's community-driven rather than government designated, with participation encouraged by charities, nonprofits, community organizations, and individuals who wish to promote giving and kindness. National Give Something Away Day Today. And now four prayers, the collect of the day for proper ten, a collect on racism and injustice, a collect for grace, and a collect for joy in God's creation. Deacon Diana, would you lead us in these four prayers?

O Lord, mercifully receive the prayers of your people who call upon you, and grant that we may know and understand what things they ought to do, and may also have grace and power faithfully to accomplish them. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit one God now and forever. Amen. O God, call us into a deep relationship to be your church for the sake of the world. Help us to see with new eyes the injustices within church and society. Call us to have a loving heart that respects and uplifts the humanity and dignity of every person. We pray for the essential workers in our world, without whose sacrifice and toil many things would not get accomplished. We're grateful for all they do. Pray for our founding vicar, Josh Thomas, in a skilled nursing facility after a stroke. He was scheduled for his surgery yesterday to remove a kidney stone, a rather large kidney stone. Maybe we'll get a follow-up on that in today or tomorrow. Healing for Deacon Leilani and her many health challenges. She is at her property in Hawaii, and she goes for dialysis just about once or twice a week. I used to get updates when she would send something and let me know, but she's uh not giving those updates as well lately. Prayers for Beth and Jim. Jim is losing his eyesight. Pray for Addie and her husband Anthony for their continued health and well-being. Terry, Stephen, Paul, Danielle, Peter, Jerry G, Robbie, Zachary. They all have cancer. Pray for everyone who has cancer. Such a horrible disease. I'm sure you know many people that have it as well. Pray for Don and Cheryl Lee. They both are diagnosed with dementia. Pray for Patricia for continued strength and wellness. Prayers for Andrea, who has now been moved to hospice care. Pray for all of those in hospice or comfort care. Andrea had a a brain aneurysm or a brain tumor that they were trying to shrink the size of, and now she's been moved to hospice. On Wednesday, we also pray for the caregivers, and I know there are many, but there are some here that we list by name: Jan, Marianne, Cheryl, Beth, Judith, Tina, Morgan, Pam, and Mark. We'll continue with the colic for the mission of the church. Patricia, would you lead us in the colic for the mission of the church, and then I'll bless the Lord and bless us.
