How to Meditate in the Scriptures for Your Healing

Learn how to meditate on the Word of God and pray with authority as you seek the Lord for your healing.

Hi everybody, welcome to the Authentic Worshiper Podcast. If this is your first time here, my name is Ivy, and I know that some of you are dealing with infirmity, sickness, and disease. You're dealing with infirmity and you have been seeking the Lord. You have been praying, you have had others pray for you. And uh, and I believe the Lord's gonna set you free. So I would like to share uh the way the Lord has had me seek him for healing for myself. I had a friend over recently uh into my home and we were praying together, and I was praying the way that I'm gonna show I'm I'm gonna share with you today. She said, you know, you need to make a video about this. People don't have this approach, they need to know uh how to approach the Lord like this, how to seek the Lord in this way. So that is why I'm making this video, and I'm gonna call it How to Meditate on the Scriptures When You Need Healing. How to Meditate on the Scriptures When You Need Healing. Uh, some years ago, uh I heard a lady speak about something called a wrecking ball. You know what a wrecking ball is in uh demolition of buildings, right? You know what a wrecking ball is. Um they will try to demolish a building by putting this huge ball, this huge heavy ball on a crane, and then they will strike the building, strike the building repeatedly with this wrecking ball until it comes down. Now, at first, it doesn't seem like that wrecking ball is making any difference in the demolition of that building. They strike the the building with the wrecking ball, and seemingly nothing happens. But in actuality, there are fractures occurring within that structure. Some of those are hairline uh fractures that you can't see, but surely it's happening. And that's the same thing with the word of God. When we begin to strike the strongholds that have come against us with the word of God, it may seem initially like nothing is happening, but if you will continue, if you will meditate on the scriptures, you will gain authority in them. The Lord will breathe life into that into that scripture, and he will give you faith, and eventually you'll see that stronghold of infirmity come down, that stronghold of sickness and disease come down. Okay, so I have this journal I want to show you. Uh, I call it the wrecking ball. It's not beautiful. Some of you would be able to make it beautiful, but this is my workhorse currently. I've had several renditions of the wrecking ball, but this is what I'm using currently, and I'd like to show you how I use it to uh to pray through the scriptures. I'm gonna put, if you're watching this uh this podcast, I'm gonna put uh some pictures on the screen so you can actually see what I'm doing and how it looks as I read it. Now, what I do is to go to the scriptures uh as the Lord leads me. You know, you can find lists of scriptures online to read regarding healing, and they're helpful. You can find videos that will read the scriptures to you uh uh concerning healing, and those are all helpful. But I find that when the Lord directs me uh to go look for them myself, there's something special about that. Proverbs chapter 4, verse 22 says that the words of the Lord are life to them that find them, and health to all their flesh, life to them that find them. There's something about you yourself going to search the scriptures for for how the Lord will lead you to pray concerning healing. It's like you search the scriptures for ammunition and he will highlight something. Notice this, notice that, write this down, memorize that, do a deep dive study on this one, that kind of thing. And so I have in my wrecking ball, uh I've compiled the scriptures that he has led me to, and as he highlights them to me, I study them, I do a deep dive study. I will look at the definitions in various, you know, in the strong's and thayers and different places to get a sense of of every little nuance of meaning, as much as I can take away from that scripture, and as I do, it becomes so much more real to me. So I'm gonna put some of this on the screen and I'm gonna share and demonstrate how I pray through them. Okay. The first scripture I want to share is Acts 3.16. And it says, on the basis of faith in Jesus' name, his very name has made this man whom you see and know strong. The faith that comes through Jesus has given him this complete health in the presence of you all. Now, this is the man that Peter and John were ministering to at the gate, beautiful. He would ask for money and he needed healing. He he was a paralytic, he needed healing, and uh this is what uh the this is how Peter explained what happened to this man. He says, on the basis of faith in Jesus' name, his very name has made this man strong. Now let me read this to you with my additions, okay? And on the basis of faith in his name, his very name has made this man strong to solidify, to confirm, it is it has strengthened him, it has made him stable, it has made him solid, it has made him immovable. The faith that comes through Jesus has given him this complete health. That word, though that phrase, complete health, is only here in the scriptures and it means integrity, physical wholeness, an unimpaired condition of the body in which all its members are healthy and fit for use, the condition of wholeness where all the parts work together for unimpaired health. It means perfect health, complete wholeness, perfect soundness. And so I've added those definitions right into my uh copying of the scriptures. Okay, so how would I pray this? This is how I pray that it'll come across the way it happens in my private time, which has lately been very powerful. Okay. Um, Lord, I thank you, Father, that it is on the basis of faith in Jesus' name. It is not on the basis of my superior faith. It is faith in Jesus' name. His very name has made me strong. I thank you, Lord, that your name makes me strong. The name of Jesus makes me strong. It is not anything that I do, it is not my merits, but the name of Jesus makes me strong, it makes me stable, it makes me solid and immovable. I thank you, Lord, that the faith that comes through Jesus, the faith doesn't come through me, the faith doesn't come through me. David said, I don't trust in my sword, I don't trust in my bow, but it's faith that comes through you. You give every man the measure of faith. Lord, you have given every man the measure of faith. So give me the measure of faith, Lord. Increase my faith, Father. I thank you, Lord, that it is not of me. Ephesians 2.8 says, This faith is not of me. It is the gift of God. Faith for healing, faith for salvation, faith for deliverance. It is the gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast. I thank you, Lord God, that you give me faith. The faith that comes to Jesus has given him this complete health. So I thank you, Lord, that the faith gives me complete health. It's a gift. I don't earn it. It's not because I've been good lately that I receive anything from you. And it's not because I've been bad lately that I don't receive anything from you. Lord, the Lord anointed you, Lord, in Acts 10 38, Lord, with power, and you went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed to the devil. So I thank you. I'm a part of the all. I thank you, Lord God. I have an unimpaired condition of my body, in which all of the members of my body are healthy and fit for use. I have the condition of wholeness. All of the parts of my body work together for unimpaired health. I thank you, Lord. I speak these things over my body and I command it to be healed. Because you said, Lord, if I if I spoke to the mountain that it would be removed, that Lord, if I didn't doubt in my heart, but I believe that those things that I say will come to pass, then I will have whatever I say. So I thank you, Lord, that I will have perfect soundness in the presence of everyone. Okay, that took a minute, but that is the way I would pray through that scripture. And you see how the Holy Spirit will bring other scriptures to mind so that you will pray exactly as he desires you to pray. They will kind of dovetail together and you will pray exactly what the Lord wants you to pray. And as you continue to do this, you're gonna pray with more and more power. It's like when these revelations come through these, I guess I can call them scripture mashups, you know, you gain authority and you begin to feel, you know, something happen in that stronghold that needs to be demolished. Okay, I'm gonna share another one with you. This is Proverbs chapter 4 and verse 12. Okay, some of you are believing God for mobility, perhaps, some of you are believing God uh uh because you have feebleness of body in some way, feebleness of joints, feebleness, maybe arthritis, um, something like that. So this is Proverbs 4.12, and it says, without the additions, it says, when you walk, your steps will not be impeded, and when you run, you won't stumble. Okay. Now, when I studied it through, here's the way it reads, okay? When you walk your steps, your pace, your stride will not be impeded. They will not be narrowed, your pace, your stride, your steps will not be narrowed, they will not be in distress or bound or cramped or narrowed, they will not be scant, they will not be besieged, they will not be hampered or hindered. And when you run, you won't stumble, you won't totter or waver through weakness of the legs, especially the ankle. By implication, you won't falter, stumble, faint, or fall. Do you see how this deepens your understanding of the scripture and it gives revelation that helps you to pray with greater authority? So, okay, I'm going to demonstrate this one. Uh, Father, I thank you that when I walk my steps, my pace, my stride will not be hindered. I'll have full mobility. I thank you, Father. I'll have full nobility. Lord, you said in your word that I will walk at liberty, for I seek your precepts. Somewhere in Psalm 119, you said, I will walk at liberty, I will walk all around, I will tread all around, for I seek your precepts. And when I run, I won't stumble, I won't totter, I won't limp, I won't waver, I won't have weakness of my legs, I won't falter, I won't stumble, I won't faint or I won't fall. I thank you, Lord. Your word will not return void. It will accomplish that which you please. And this is your word. So I believe, Lord God, that there shall be a performance of those things that you told me. There shall be a performance of those things that were told me by the Lord. Father, you've given me all things that pertain to life and godliness. And I thank you, Lord God, that your word, Father God, will accomplish that which it pleases. That's that which you please. I thank you for it. So I speak to my body and I command it in Jesus' name to be perfectly whole. Father, there was not one feeble person among them when they came out of Egypt. So I pray, Lord God, to be perfectly whole in the name of Jesus. Amen. Okay. Do you understand what I'm doing? Do you see what I'm doing? It has helped me so much. It has helped me so much. That's just two scriptures. I think I'll do one more. This is 1 John. Uh let's see. 1 John 5, 18. Now, where is that? It says, We know that no one who has been born of God sins, does not continue to sin. But he who was born of God, that's Jesus, keeps him, and the evil one does not touch him. Now, when I studied it through, uh, the phrase, the evil one does not touch him, uh, gave me a lot of insight. Uh, touch means it's it's the Greek word, uh, I don't know how to pronounce it, haptomi. It means properly to attach, to fasten oneself to, to adhere to, to cling to, to assail. And so I pray this. I say, Father, Lord, no one who has been born of God continues to sin. I thank you, Lord God, that Lord, the Holy Spirit convicts me where I need convicting, and I change, Lord, I change when you convict me. I change, Lord, when you correct me. And I thank you that Jesus keeps me. He keeps me, Father. And the wicked one, the devil, cannot touch me. The devil touches me not. Everything the enemy has tried to do to attach himself to me, to fasten infirmity or sickness or disease to me, to adhere it to me, to cling to me, or to assail me, I cancel it in the mighty name of Jesus. Because you said, Lord, that the evil one cannot attach himself or fasten himself to me. So any sickness that or any disease, for whatever reason, has tried to attach itself to me. I thank you, Lord God, that you do, you are good, and you went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil. As many as touched you were made perfectly whole. So anything that has tried to attach itself to me, I command it to detach and be gone in the mighty name of Jesus. I command it to be gone in the mighty name of Jesus now, because now is the day of salvation. Now is the acceptable time. 1 Corinthians 6, 2 Corinthians 6, 2 says, Lord, you've heard me in a favorable time, in an acceptable time. And now is the day of salvation. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for. I don't have to see it. I believe it. I know that your word is true. I won't back down. I thank you for what you're doing, Lord God. I believe you in Jesus' name. So that's another example. And you see how the Holy Spirit will bring other scriptures to mind as you pray these. So I encourage you to spend time in the Word and compile your own list to make your wrecking ball. I'll give you a testimony that uh I've shared before, but uh some years ago I was dealing with harassment by a spirit of fear, and the doctor uh diagnosed it as generalized anxiety disorder. She said, You have a textbook case of generalized anxiety disorder. And so I came home and began to pray. The doctor suggested that I pray. It was just uh encouragement from the Lord that she would have that insight. But I went home and I began to pray. And I got in the word, uh, I'm in the word every day, but I got in the word with a new focus. I looked into the word for ammunition against that spirit of fear, and I began to put together a wrecking ball for that season. And as I began to pray, it only took about seven months. It was an intense period of great warfare. But over those months, as I meditated on the scripture and I prayed just the way I showed you just now, that stronghold began to lose its grip on me. And I got from the Lord authority over it. And eventually it had to leave. It had to leave without medications, without counseling, without, I mean, I got the counsel of godly friends and so forth, but without medication, and uh it was just the word of God, He's faithful that promised. So don't back down, continue in the word. The Lord is going to do what he said, be encouraged, okay? All right, I thank you for listening, and I'm gonna see you next time.
