Let Me Know Your Thoughts and Question.

Avoiding the topic of human trafficking because it is uncomfortable doesn’t make it go away—it allows it to continue in silence. Trafficking thrives in the shadows, and when people refuse to acknowledge it, victims remain unseen, and offenders go unchecked.

Hello, my name is David J. Story, and I'm the host of The Secret World of Human Trafficking. I want to address something that happened to me. I was at a book signing for my Omega book series, and a lady approached me and asked what my books were about. I told her they were about human trafficking. She turned away and said that she did not like the topic and didn't want to hear anything about it. Turning away from the subject of human trafficking because it is uncomfortable or disturbing does not make the problem disappear. It allows it to thrive in silence. Human trafficking exists precisely because it is hidden, ignored, and too often dismissed as too horrible to confront. That discomfort is not a reason to look away. It is a reason to pay closer attention. Refusing to engage with the reality of trafficking creates space for traffickers to operate unchecked and for victims to remain unseen and unheard. Awareness is one of the most powerful tools we have to prevent exportation, support survivors, and hold perpetrators accountable. When people choose not to listen, learn, or acknowledge the issue, they unintentionally contribute to the culture where exportation can continue in the shadows. Addressing human trafficking is not about dwelling on darkness. It is about bringing truth to the light. It is about education, prevention, and ultimately protection. Difficult conversations are often the ones that matter most because they challenge us to act, care, and make a difference. Silence and avoidance are not neutral. They are part of the problem. Awareness and action are part of the solution. Follow the secret world of human trafficking where I bring in experts and news about the world of human trafficking in hopes of bringing light into the darkness. You can follow me at David Jstory. Thank you for listening and hope to see you soon.
