Eve | Ep. 4 | The Covering
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode of Stories of Faith, we return to the garden again. To the moment when Eve is no longer running or reaching. She is standing. Exposed. Aware. Tender in a way she has never understood before.
In her hands are fig leaves. Thin. Brittle. Barely enough. A covering she made with what was nearby. With what made sense. With what she could manage on her own.
This episode explores the fragile coverings we reach for after innocence is lost. Busyness. Strength. Control. Explanation. Coping that looks sufficient on the outside but feels exhausting to maintain on the inside.
And then God moves closer.
Not with disappointment.
Not with frustration.
But with care.
Scripture tells us that God made garments of skin and clothed them. He did not tell Eve to try harder. He did not leave her in what she made to survive. He replaced her fragile covering with His own.
The first shedding of blood in scripture happens here. Not in punishment, but in mercy. Even in this moment, God is already pointing toward redemption. The covering was temporary. The promise is eternal.
If you are standing in the aftermath of something broken, holding together what you can, this episode is for you.
God does not ask you to come healed. He asks you to come honest.
He does not shame your survival. He replaces it with grace.
You are still His. Covered. Loved.
