SPEAKER_00

Most people ask us, are you guys identical twins? I mean constantly. So yeah, so we don't have the same mother, but we are identical twins.

SPEAKER_03

We are. We share the same DNA too.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_00

So, welcome to Comedyville Horror Podcast. Yeah, I'm we are your host. I'm Russ. I'm Tosh, he's head Red Bull. Yeah. This episode we're talking about evil twins. We've seen evil twins in movies.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so many.

SPEAKER_00

Uh that seems like a pretty common I guess like horror movie trope is like scary twins.

SPEAKER_03

I would say that, but also like how often do you watch like a suspense movie where like the twist at the end is that there was a twin, right? Like you know, I'm like, oh okay, let's keep it real original.

SPEAKER_00

Or uh I was thinking uh like Mary Kate and Ashley. So like they played one character.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, one character, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Like that that was a common thing I think in the most late 90s.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, because there was that kid that was in um oh the one with Adam Sandler, he was a twin as well. The blonde haired kid. I wiped my own ass. That kid?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't think that I'm pretty sure he was a twin. I don't think he was a twin.

SPEAKER_03

I'm pretty sure I'm correct on this one because he was also in Disney movies or Disney um, like, you know, like the Disney sitcoms.

SPEAKER_00

Was he on the the cruise, the Zach or whatever? Yep. Oh, that was that kid?

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. And he was a twin.

SPEAKER_01

Hmm.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But Mary Kate and Ashley, those girls got so skinny. Do you remember that?

SPEAKER_00

Oh man, speaking of skinny, have you seen uh Kelly Osborne lately?

SPEAKER_03

What is wrong with her?

SPEAKER_00

Like she is turning into a mummy.

SPEAKER_03

It's kind of scary, yeah.

SPEAKER_00

And I hate because she's always like defending it, like my dad just died. And it's like, stop fucking blaming that like fucking eat a sandwich.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and yeah, there's all these new fads and drugs out there that you just I know. Well, I get it.

SPEAKER_00

She lives in Iowa now. Well, I get it. Like you're trying to kill yourself. I mean, well, yeah, that's you know I would too if I lived in Iowa.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, but like she has like livestock. Just kill a chicken or like your cow.

SPEAKER_00

It's not like they're hurting for money, right?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I don't know. I mean, that's how you don't get rich by eating, I guess.

SPEAKER_00

So well, then I'll never be rich.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, right. Uh yeah, so evil twins.

SPEAKER_00

Um, obviously, we just did the shining, and actually you and your wife dressed up as the shining me and my wife dressed up as the the shining twins.

SPEAKER_03

The girls.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So Russ was in a girl outfit. Yeah, it's great.

SPEAKER_00

I had a dress on and stockings. Stockings, and the finding shoes in like man sizes was difficult.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm. I remember you were bitching about how bad those shoes hurt your feet.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They fucking they sucked. Yeah anyways.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Good good stuff though. One of my favorites.

SPEAKER_00

But uh, so here I have some uh stories of evil twins. Not not necessarily all of them um were like where both of them are evil. It's mostly one of them. Well, they got like the bad bad egg.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like they missed like a chromosome or something, you know. So I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Let's get into this first story. Eddie and Peggy. So in nineteen ninety-eight, an ophthalmologist, Jack Wilson, which I don't know what an ophthalmologist they're an eye doctor.

SPEAKER_03

I thought that was optamologist?

SPEAKER_00

Like oh no, opt.

SPEAKER_03

What is it? Opda?

SPEAKER_00

Ophtha. Ophthalmologist?

SPEAKER_03

Hmm. I don't know. We'll have to research that one.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know. That there's no way that we could ever find out what it is.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, okay, I'll figure that out.

SPEAKER_00

We don't have to now. We've come way too far to figure that out.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, you just go right ahead.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so ophthalmologist, so doctor of some sort, uh, Jack Wilson walked into his home in Alabama and found an intruder in his house. The intruder attacked him with an aluminum baseball bat and then stabbed him.

SPEAKER_03

Oh god.

SPEAKER_00

So Jack died.

SPEAKER_03

I was right, it's an eye doctor.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, so he didn't have that much money.

SPEAKER_03

No, I mean apparently.

SPEAKER_00

Not in the fucking late 90s.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so he died from this robbery, I guess. Uh, because that the Huntsville police thought it was a robbery that had gone slowly.

SPEAKER_03

Like South, yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um since he was a 55-year-old, well respected in the community. He was the eye doctor in Huntsville, you know. But a week after, James White, a 41-year-old carpenter, who lived 150 miles away, was arrested and charged with the murder.

SPEAKER_03

Why would he drive 150 miles to go kill this person?

SPEAKER_00

So it turns out that uh Betty Wilson, Jack Wilson's wife, uh, and her twin sister Peggy Lowe were arrested for the murder. And uh, so James, James White, the the guy, the carpenter that was arrested in his confession, he said that Peggy, the twin sister, was having an affair.

SPEAKER_03

There's always like a love triangle.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she she was having an affair, and she was planning on leaving her husband uh but hoped that something would just happen to him.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So White said that he could take care of the problem, and Peggy didn't take him up on the offer, but her twin sister Betty was in the similar situation and wanted something to happen to her husband.

SPEAKER_03

Which was the guy that died.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh. So they both want to kill their exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so this James White agreed to kill Betty Wilson's husband for$2,500.

SPEAKER_01

Well, I said steal.

SPEAKER_00

Plus uh$300 in expenses.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Like, that's the thing. Like, if you're paying for murder, fucking pay top dollar.

SPEAKER_03

Well, right. Like, don't just And then you like, you're like, oh, also here's a receipt for all my supplies.

SPEAKER_00

Like uh this can you have to be a tax write-off. So they both both twins uh were convicted of the murder and given life sentences. But Peggy was acquitted.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, okay, but she never offed her husband?

SPEAKER_00

Well, she was in she was in on the whole thing.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. Right.

SPEAKER_00

So she uh she said that she knew White but denied the affair. Uh and she also said that White was mentally ill after serving in Vietnam and uh just randomly killed somebody. Had nothing to do with being paid for it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Um So that that's all I got for that one.

SPEAKER_03

What I just feel like they were both bad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, exactly. Right? Like they were both evil.

SPEAKER_03

Both of them had some sort of ulterior motive.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They uh and they they were doing the same thing. Because you see that a lot, like identical twins, even though like when they don't know each other the exact same show.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, oh yeah. Well, you know, I mean our sister has twins, and even watching them grow up, like there was always that thing where it's like they had the same like their special language kind of thing, like their own secret language.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, we'll get into that.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, it was when they were really little, it was crazy. And when they were baby babies, she had them in the same crib, and she would put them like, you know, one on one side, one on the other, right? And they would end up they would always end up together. Like always. It was just crazy. They would also poop at the same time. So when I was watching them, it was like, oh, everybody's pooping. Like you're pooping, you're pooping, you're pooping. And then I would have to like quick change one diaper and then have to change the other.

SPEAKER_00

And that's a lot of like why it was exhausting to watch my sister.

SPEAKER_03

Like it I'm gonna be like, Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Like why uh twins are more likely to become fucking psychopaths because they were brought into an environment where the parents were not ready for two tiny babies.

SPEAKER_03

Ever. Like ever. I mean, it was even like going out to like we go out to lunch or something, and she would have to go to the bathroom, but then both babies would be dirty.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I just remember I think I was paying the bill, and I walked in, and she's got one, so she's on the toilet, like the handicap stall. It's wide open for anybody to walk in, and she's got one baby in the stroller doing this, like with her foot while the other one's on the like changing table, and she's just like holding it. I'm like, what is happening? Yeah, it was. I was like, oh no. Yeah, can you imagine like the octimom? She had eight.

SPEAKER_00

I'm surprised that she didn't eat her children.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, or like just and uh maybe she did go off the deep end. I think she did, right? Maybe not.

SPEAKER_00

She did porn, I believe. Well, I think crazy, like pumping out fucking eight kids.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, well, you oh, oh god. Uh like throwing a hot dog down a hallway.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. That's fucked up.

SPEAKER_03

What is wrong with people?

SPEAKER_00

Have you lived in this country?

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Like, I'm fucking I'm ready to just deport me, please. Well, like fucking send me somewhere else. I don't know. I mean I don't even give a fuck anymore.

SPEAKER_03

Well, now it's like, what are we gonna what kind of war are we gonna be in? It's scary, I'll insane. I know. Um yeah, well, I think both petty petty and peggy. Yeah, I can't say it. We'll just call them petty. Yeah, because they were being very petty and wanted to kill both of their spouses, maybe to have lovers.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Is what I'm guessing.

SPEAKER_00

Like they they had to have been fairly older. In their at least 40s, 50s.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right. I'm guessing late.

SPEAKER_00

It's like just fucking get a divorce then.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, like come on.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So uh the next one in 1990, uh 85-year-old Walter Gibbs was found dead in his home in South Dakota. Originally, the death was ruled natural because fuck, he's 85. They're gonna die pretty soon. When you hit 80s, it's literally any day. But a year later, police were told that Darlene Phillips, a 46-year-old woman in prison, was bragging about murdering Gibbs. Darlene had married and divorced Gibbs twice.

SPEAKER_03

Uh wait, I'm sorry, she was 46?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yuck. Yeah, exactly.

SPEAKER_00

Freaking uh so she had already married and divorced Gibbs twice, and she was serving a 50-year sentence for trying to kill Gibbs.

SPEAKER_03

And then he died? Wait, but he died while she while she was in prison?

SPEAKER_00

Um, so she went to jail just months before he died.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so she paid somebody. Um which I don't understand that. How do you have money when you're locked up?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, I right?

SPEAKER_03

Like, oh, I know you hear about this stuff all the time. Yeah, right? Like this this whatever inmate paid Joe Schmo to kill whatever. And I'm like, how? What are you putting them in cigarettes and like surprise? Something all the unwanted sex that they're like, hey, when you get caught and you get here, I'll make sure you're taken well care of. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, tongue the bung. So the police after hearing uh this darling fucking whack job, they're like, all right, we'll just fucking dig up his body.

SPEAKER_03

Always like a wacky, like every Darlene I've ever known is just fucking mess.

SPEAKER_00

I yeah, I know.

SPEAKER_03

Like serious, right?

SPEAKER_00

Uh so they dig up his body and then they're like, oh fuck, he was murdered.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so they automatically assume that it was Darlene's uh like current or whatever, like her new husband.

unknown

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Jerome.

SPEAKER_03

Um yeah. Jerome's a real idiot if he's getting married while she's incarcerated.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so Jerome confessed that he smothered Gibbs with a pillow uh while Darlene held his legs down. Jerome also said that Darlene's twin sister Dolores uh sat in the other room while the deed was being done. Uh it turns out that Dolores had also married uh the 85-year-old twice.

SPEAKER_03

This is disgusting and sounds like dad's ex.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So Dolores first married him when she was 18.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. And he was what 60? I'm just kidding.

SPEAKER_00

No one's like, No, there was what 45 years difference, or no, 40 years difference. So yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So he was like 56?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, 58, where yeah, fucking math. Um, so they were married for 10 years, and then Darlene married Gibbs uh after they divorced. Uh he went through another round of each of them.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, where exactly in South Dakota was this? Because I'm guessing it was in the boonies and there was not a whole lot to pick from.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, probably. It's uh yeah, probably a tiny town. Right.

SPEAKER_03

Like they're like, oh, there's two men here.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's he he literally ran through all the talent at the local watering hole. Yeah, he did. Yeah. Twice.

SPEAKER_03

Or he didn't know which one was which. Were they identical? Because you know.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, maybe he thought it was the same one. He's like, oh, well, he married the same one four times. Probably. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

With 86, he was probably had some serious dementia.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. So turns out that they both wanted Gibbs dead because Dolores was the beneficiary of his will.

SPEAKER_03

Oh God, these women telling you.

SPEAKER_00

Yep. So Dolores, Darlene, and Phillips were all arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit murder. Uh Darlene was convicted and was given a life sentence, but Dolores was acquitted. Seems like I've noticed that in uh a lot of these is that why would one get away with it? One, yeah, one always gets away with it.

SPEAKER_01

Huh.

SPEAKER_00

And I don't know if in court maybe they're playing that like, well, this is the evil twin sort of shit. I'm the good one. I was just along for the ride.

SPEAKER_03

Because we are twins and we like, yeah. Yeah. Attorneys are like we'll get one of you off.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You pick which one. They're like, we have to make the other one look insane.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Even though they're the same fucking person.

SPEAKER_03

So terrible.

SPEAKER_00

Um, so next story. Uh this one's fairly more recent, but in 2010.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

And this is uh 16-year-old twin sisters. Uh Tasmaya and Jazmaya. Whitehead.

SPEAKER_03

Wait, Tasmaya and Jazmaya. Oh, this parent just needs to be murdered.

SPEAKER_00

I hate when it's like identical twins and they name them like the same name as well.

SPEAKER_03

It's like damn it, give them a fucking switch one letter.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Fucking give them their own identity.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, so silly.

SPEAKER_00

So these two teenage twins uh started arguing with their mother in Georgia because they woke up late for school. They mean so uh according to the twins, their mother started threatening them with a pot. And then uh then a fight broke out.

unknown

See?

SPEAKER_03

She should have never had twins.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. The twins broke a vase over their mother's head and strangled her with a ribbon from a childhood medallion. I'm guessing like a fucking like a track and field, like. Yeah. Uh then they took turns stabbing her uh with a kitchen knife. That's terrible. For 16-year-olds. Um, then after the fight, they dragged their mother into the bathtub and watched her die. They said that uh their mother's last words were that she hated them. I would too.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, like I birthed you.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. And that's uh one of the guys on the local radio here. He always says, Don't ever get your kids' names tattooed on you because they might kill you. I mean uh Reiner.

SPEAKER_03

Who are you talking about?

SPEAKER_00

Rob Reiner, the director.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah. Did he get tattooed?

SPEAKER_00

No, but I'm saying like his son murdered him and his wife.

SPEAKER_01

That's awful.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like so. Don't ever like get I know get your kids' names tattooed because they very well could murder you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Well, they always say, like, if if someone kills you, it's going to be like your loved ones, right? Like your kids. Real close to you.

SPEAKER_00

It's way less likely that it's a random thing.

SPEAKER_03

Stranger or like your neighbor. So you might watch your neighbors.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Have you ever seen that show?

SPEAKER_03

Neighborhood watch. What?

SPEAKER_00

Uh God, what is it?

SPEAKER_03

Fear thy neighbor?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

It's insane. And they're like, your dog just kept barking.

SPEAKER_00

And so then we shoot them. They're just like they fight for years and years and years. And then one day one of them is just like, I fucking hate this guy, and then murders.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Like it's awful. They act like children the whole time. Like leading up to it.

SPEAKER_00

Like they're like, your fence is on my side of the property. It's it's like, fuck off.

SPEAKER_03

Like he's mowing the lawn with a gun. Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Uh so, anyways, after the murder, the twins started to clean up the scene. Uh, and then decided, fuck, I'm 16. I don't want to clean. I don't have time to go. So then they went to school. Uh, they had expected the police to be there uh and that their mother's body would be gone when they got home. Uh instead, they flagged down a passing police car. Uh, the first officer at the house said that the crime scene was gone. Gory.

SPEAKER_03

This I mean these are Yeah, they s stabbed her like a million times with a kitchen knife.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Uh so when when they were arrested, they told the officers that they'd come home and found their mom dead.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Lies. Um let me guess. They had a ring camera.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, and it Well, not in 2010.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know when those came out.

SPEAKER_00

Fairly recently.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, all right, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Um so it was four months later that they confessed to killing her. And they both received 30 years in prison.

SPEAKER_03

At the age of 16? Well.

SPEAKER_00

But I mean, they've both fucking murdered someone out of rage.

SPEAKER_03

Right, but they're like but they're still juveniles.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

So if they weren't tried as an adult, right?

SPEAKER_00

Well, and that's that's kind of the whole thing. Like, can can a mentally I don't want to say disabled, but like definitely something's wrong with them mentally where they're murdering people.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, at such a young age.

SPEAKER_00

A young age that like, can they be rehabilitated? I don't think so.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think so.

SPEAKER_00

You know, like and it's always like they when they're in jail, like they find God. It's like God doesn't fucking help. If anything, that makes you worse of a person because now you're just annoying about it.

SPEAKER_03

Where they just want to preach. It's just like when they like get overly God.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, they're like super into God.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and you're like, oh.

SPEAKER_00

And it's like, well, you just fucking shut up and I'm gonna murder you.

SPEAKER_03

Right. I mean well, that's terrible.

SPEAKER_00

So uh so far we've had uh quite a few stories in the United States.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Um so I'm guessing like a lot of these uh are uh not Asian people. So this one it does happen in the United States, but the twins were born in South Korea.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um which so Asian, super fucking smart. So they uh they were co-valedictorian in their California high school. Oh so I'm sure it was co because they were both it was the two of them. Yeah, so they they had to split it. Sonny and Gina Han.

SPEAKER_03

Is it two a boy and a girl?

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_03

Sonny and Gina?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know, Sonny could be a boy?

SPEAKER_00

Sonny S-U-N-N-Y.

SPEAKER_03

Oh well.

SPEAKER_00

Sonny, the boy version, I think, is O.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Um, so they were super smart, but start having some money troubles.

SPEAKER_01

Huh?

SPEAKER_00

And uh getting in trouble with the law. Uh Sonny was jailed for taking a friend's credit card and going on a shopping spree.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, shoot.

SPEAKER_00

And Gina reportedly stole about forty thousand dollars from family and friends.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god. Uh so like nobody put a kibosh to that, like the first grand that she stole, do you know?

SPEAKER_00

Well, so and Sonny uh pressed charges against Gina for a burglary and grand theft in 1996.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Uh they were 22 years old at the time. Gina hatched what prosecutors alleged was a plot to kill Sonny.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. So this is a kill a twin killing a twin.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so this is where they're not working together.

SPEAKER_03

Ooh, and they're working against each other.

SPEAKER_00

So the attack during which Sonny was tied up and forced to sit in a bathtub in their California apartment, made headlines all over the world. A 911 call uh brought police to the scene, and they arrested Gina, who the day before had purchased garbage bags and pine salt.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my gosh, she's got a lot of cleaning to do.

SPEAKER_00

Her conspirators, two unrelated teenage boys, one of who one of whom brandished a loaded gun during the attack. Uh in 1998, Gina was dubbed the evil twin, was sentenced to 26 years to life in prison. So what is it, 26 to life for plotting the fucking the the other 30 years. Yeah, they got 30 years for actually murdering their mom. And this one just wanted to.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, she never died.

SPEAKER_00

No.

SPEAKER_03

They've oh, they found out about it before. I just thought she was like dead in the bathtub.

SPEAKER_00

No, I uh I think it was they yeah, they uh like kidnapped her and well sort of thing, or tied her up or whatever and somehow somehow she got away or something. Yeah. Uh so it says that uh Gina she sobbed in court and apologized for her actions saying that Sonny is my flesh and blood.

SPEAKER_03

Right. You probably shouldn't have wanted to kill her then.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Right?

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

These people are nuts. But don't you think so? If you look at like the like how right, like how twins like come about, right? There's fraternal and there's identical. Fraternal, they have separate sacks, right? So no, well, yeah, I mean I would hope so.

SPEAKER_00

Then they'd be conjoined twins, and that would be funny, like conjoined twins that are attached at the nut sack.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

They share one nut sack on the volume. I'm sure they would just cut it like right then and there. I mean, probably you would or like at the finger, like they have like a a main artery like going through their finger for some reason, and they have to be like just that attached like yeah, like at fingertips. That'd be funny.

SPEAKER_03

That'd be gross. Really gross. But right, like and then identical twins share the same sack, right?

SPEAKER_00

It's the same it's the same egg that splits.

SPEAKER_03

For identical twins? I thought they share the same. Fraternal are two separate eggs?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, two separate fertilized eggs. But I know more about women's anatomy than women.

SPEAKER_03

It's because you are like anything.

SPEAKER_00

I'm just kidding. I know nothing.

SPEAKER_03

What did you say? You're like an old single white woman. Yeah. Oh, whatever.

SPEAKER_00

Um It wasn't until recently that I found out that women have a pee hole. Fucking crazy.

SPEAKER_03

Did you just think everything was out of one hole? Oh boy.

SPEAKER_00

Like a bird. Oh my god You know the birds can't pee?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they like shit and piss together.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It's disgusting.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's fucking gross.

SPEAKER_03

Yuck. Okay, but Yeah, where were we?

SPEAKER_00

Where were we talking about that?

SPEAKER_03

Like, there's something that happens when because you hear like crazy twin shit, right? Like, whatever. That maybe when that egg splits, that there's some actual connection. Yeah, but also like a chemical imbalance that happens.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, yeah. Maybe. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or like one of them, right? They always say, like, oh, baby A and baby B. Well, baby A is bigger because it's taking all of the nutrients from baby B. So maybe now baby B becomes the fucking evil twin because guess what? You didn't feed me, little brother or sister.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it was the runt and the litter.

SPEAKER_03

Fucking assholes. And so then they have to like they spend their whole life like some sort of conspiracy of how they're gonna get back to either either they just have all this anger when they're born.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Because they didn't get enough food or something. I don't know. Maybe.

SPEAKER_00

Right?

unknown

Could be.

SPEAKER_00

Because I feel like uh because there there could be like an attention thing, but I feel like with twins, that's real hard because they're like literally the same thing. You know what I mean? Like I feel like they're both getting the exact same amount of attention. It'd be different.

SPEAKER_03

Not if one's sick. Like uh what if one needs to get fed more because now it didn't get all the nutrients?

SPEAKER_00

Like a fucking uh what's her stupid name? Uh Gypsy Rose.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, did she have twins?

SPEAKER_00

No. But I mean, I'm just saying, like, where the mom like made her sick.

SPEAKER_03

Even though she wasn't right, Munchausen syndrome by proxy. Right. But I also felt like there was a whole nother side to that. Like where Gypsy like eventually knew that that was happening.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, she continued to like I think she figured it out. That's why she fucking tried her well, she her mom was murdered.

SPEAKER_03

Right. But then she like I feel like knew it before and then just like kind of went along with it. But then maybe wanted like all the other things.

SPEAKER_00

Does she celebrate that?

SPEAKER_03

Probably not. But like that's a thing. And you know, you think too, because didn't she have a baby? Didn't she like get married and have a kid?

SPEAKER_00

I think she, yeah, just recently. I don't I haven't watched the show because I think she I hate when people are they're turned into celebrities for very bad things.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, absolutely that's what I was saying. Is like now she's gotten all this limelight and all this attention.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Now she is a baby. What if I mean it there's a thing about cycles, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You either break the cycle as a baby.

SPEAKER_03

No. That gypsy rose then starts doing the same thing, Munchausen syndrome by proxy, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. And then she gets murdered. I mean, it could be just a never-ending cycle until some of them somebody breaks one of them finally has an abortion.

SPEAKER_03

Or something.

SPEAKER_00

That's oh fuck. I was in Walmart.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe some therapy.

SPEAKER_00

I was in Walmart yesterday.

SPEAKER_03

Oh God. Don't ever Can I just say this to Don't ever go to Walmart on a weekend. I did I made the mistake of that last weekend and wanted to murder myself.

SPEAKER_00

Well, it's no matter what side of the aisle you're on, fuck. Abortions should be mandatory for certain people. They're they should stop reproducing. Fuck.

SPEAKER_03

Well, when I went, it was um handicap day.

SPEAKER_00

And um the short bus outside, but it must have been parked around the side.

SPEAKER_03

Well, here's my thing. They need to figure out a different day when they get everybody else's groceries for pickup because those effing carts that are in my way and it's always right where I need to be. So there's that. Oh, I know. There's the uh person in the motorized scooter with a dog. Like, I thought that, like, and I'm like, that is not a service animal. It is a poodle, but it's gonna do nothing for you.

SPEAKER_00

But you can't say anything either.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So it's like this lady in a scooter. I'm trying to get my cart through. All I need are like some black beans or whatever I was looking at. I'm like, just everybody get out of my way. I was I was so angry. I was like jolly before I walked in there.

SPEAKER_00

And by the time I got in my car, you never leave Walmart like feeling jolly.

SPEAKER_03

I was so angry. And then I always get the person, the checkout person, if I don't do it myself, right? But I was like, you know what? No, hey, this person's right here and it's wide open. I'm gonna go. That wants to talk about a my items that I'm purchasing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Or B about my day. I, you know what my day is?

SPEAKER_00

I wonder if they're told to out of here. Because do you remember back in the day it was like fast, fast, fast. You had to get people through fast. And now I feel like they don't. Like, I I think they're told to like make a connection uh because they're slow as fuck.

SPEAKER_03

And why are they all wearing like rubber gloves?

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like, well, I didn't get a pair of rubber gloves when I walked in the store and touched all of the goods.

SPEAKER_00

I always wipe down the card with those things.

SPEAKER_03

I'm like, I'll stand in the way and just do that because everybody's gonna be my way when I get to the aisles, so why not?

SPEAKER_01

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, oh man, I was just so I was so angry. But like then there was like I pulled in to my parking spot, and there was an open parking spot in front of me, and there's just a pair of old muddy boots that somebody clearly went into Walmart, got a new pair of shoes, and just left their boots.

SPEAKER_00

Well, yeah, they had probably a job interview.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god, it was so bad.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Um, so let's do uh let's do I have just a few more. What do I got? Three more stories. Oh, great. Um although identical twins, uh Steven and Robert Splaski.

SPEAKER_03

Sounds good.

SPEAKER_00

Um were both killers. They each acted alone and were totally unaware of the other's homicidal tendencies.

SPEAKER_01

Oh.

SPEAKER_00

Uh one of them said, I thought I was the only murderer in the family.

SPEAKER_03

Huh. Just kidding. It's like Dexter.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

In uh New York, the uh corrections officer gave Steven a newspaper article about his brother confessing to four slangs.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Stephen was the first to kill someone. He stabbed a man, but Robert killed a lot more people. Uh a prostitute that he strangled with an electrical cord.

SPEAKER_03

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Um, his girlfriend, he choked to death. Uh but his his brother Steven fetish uh was a teenager when he stabbed the guy.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Why'd you stab him?

SPEAKER_00

Um, a robbery. Well, and it it sounded like he was in and out of jail already for robberies, kidnapping, violation, you know.

SPEAKER_03

All the things.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

He was a bad boy.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Um, so and this is kind of uh this was a big thing that started a a big debate on nurture versus nature sort of thing. Okay. Where they they didn't know of each other's uh what they were doing.

SPEAKER_03

Killing yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But they were still doing the same thing and which that is the nature part of it. But it's kind of like, well, maybe if they were in a fucking a better situation, you know what I mean? Like then maybe the nurture would have prevented both of them.

SPEAKER_03

Well, maybe, but I even know like my nephews like they would be totally, you know, separate getting dressed or whatever, or one would be like spending the night at a friend's house and you know, then coming home and changing, and then they would both come out at the same time and they would be wearing almost like the exact same thing all the time.

SPEAKER_00

Like they're the connection that they have uh is really I blame that on the parents. Don't fucking buy them the exact same thing, like identical twins.

SPEAKER_03

And I don't think she did a whole lot, or like it would be like the same shirt, but like always different colors, you know what I mean? Yeah, but they wouldn't, they would. I mean, it was just crazy. I think when they were little, right?

SPEAKER_00

Then like say I hated them. Where you'd see, yeah, like twin babies would have the exact same outfit on.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I would tell my sister if I'm babysitting, like you can't, I I don't know, I can't tell them apart.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Like I could not tell them apart.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I can't to this day. Other than that's because I met them a few years ago. Well, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like I did not grow up with them, so like But like one of them has a freckle right on the forehead, and the other one doesn't.

SPEAKER_03

And then one of them has like the our like whatever, our genetic face, and the other one has the skinnier face.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. You know, is that like you just you call their call one of them's name and see like which one like uh sometimes. I found out. Did you know that George Foreman has like fucking twelve kids and most of them are named George Foreman?

SPEAKER_03

I think I did know that.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, like all of them are named George Foreman, which is stupid. Yeah. Fucking ridiculous. Like he literally ran out of ideas, like immediately.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I don't know if he got punched in the head a little too much. Probably. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, those grills, like did you have the the Foreman grill back in the day?

SPEAKER_00

My grandma did, and she fucking loved that thing.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I loved it, except like the it was always supposed to have like a meat, like I think like a meat jute. Maybe he figured it out at the time.

SPEAKER_00

Because it was they were all on an angle so that the grease would drip off of them. That was their whole shtip. Yeah, but then it's healthier for you.

SPEAKER_03

But then it didn't have like a well, mine never did. I probably got it at like Goodwill. But it never had like the tray. Yeah, I remember my So you just have to like shove like paper towels underneath and just get paper towels.

SPEAKER_00

My grandma put like a little saucer plate.

SPEAKER_03

Smarter.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe I did paper plates. I don't know. That was when I was in college. I was poor.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Uh so uh so okay, so this is an older one, and this is about like the communication. Uh so these twins were dubbed the silent twins.

SPEAKER_03

Uh because you never trust a person that doesn't talk.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They only communicated with their immediate family. Uh June and Jennifer Gibbons were born in Wales in 1963. Uh they grew up as uh social pariahs. I don't know what the fuck that means.

SPEAKER_03

Like they were like fancy, like special, right?

SPEAKER_00

Well, but they they were frequently bullied.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Okay, well I'm thinking of something else.

SPEAKER_00

So they had a speech impediment.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Um well that's why they were quiet.

SPEAKER_00

Well, and as well, and they were bullied.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, well, that's what I mean. How terrible. Kids are dicks.

SPEAKER_00

As the years went by, uh, their secret like twin language became more and more unique. Uh almost completely nobody could understand it. That wasn't them.

SPEAKER_01

So weird.

SPEAKER_00

But the sisters both committed several crimes, including arson, petty theft. Uh and this was the good old days.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe it was to the people that bullied them. So you go girls. This is the good old days.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, the good old days. Um, so yeah, they were committed and lived there for 11 years after they were diagnosed with schizophrenia.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's because they didn't know what else to call it, right? Like back then.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_03

I mean.

unknown

I know.

SPEAKER_00

The good old days when you just be like, this bitch is crazy, and then they just fucking kept her. I mean you could go on about your life, you know, without a worry.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, right. That's why it was all the ladies trying to murder their men.

SPEAKER_00

So uh but so they uh they were both writers, actually. But each one published a novel. Um June's book was called The Pepsi Cola Addict. And it was about a high school hero seduced by his teacher and sent to a cruel reformery.

SPEAKER_03

All right, so something happened there.

SPEAKER_00

Um and then Jennifer's book, Disco Mania, was about a local disco that incites patrons to acts of insane violence.

SPEAKER_03

Oh. Wow. So we're gonna buy these, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we probably should.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, that's wild. Um I mean, even like the names just sound like jacked up. Like getting into the mind of like a crazy person.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. And like uh twins, like where like they're both uh not right.

SPEAKER_03

How do they get published though?

SPEAKER_00

Like I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Right? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So it and it it says that they they both had like a love-hate relationship with each other. Um but while they were in uh this hospital or insane asylum or whatever, they made a pact that one had to die so that the other one could live a normal life.

SPEAKER_03

What the frick? So who died?

SPEAKER_00

Uh so Jennifer uh admitted to Wallace. Who was Wallace? The local Oh no, I think he was a reporter.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um, that did a story on him. Uh so she admitted to somebody that I'm going to die, I've decided. And in 1993, hours after their release, uh Jennifer at the age of 29 died on her sister's shoulder from a sudden inflammation of the heart muscle.

SPEAKER_01

What? No, she took a pill.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, she had to have taken something or something like that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's called cyanide.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Well, no, cyanide, you can tell.

SPEAKER_03

Well, yeah, because they're like foaming or something, right?

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. She took something.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Had to have.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

But it's still a mystery.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Hmm. Like no autopsy was performed.

SPEAKER_00

Like Yeah, I feel like they should have. Right? Like, I don't know.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe a toxicology. Like, I don't know, like, yeah, well, they just got released. It's fine.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. They're like, this is not our problem. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

This is uh maybe yesterday's problem.

SPEAKER_00

Like, fuck these girls. So uh my last one. Um, this is during a jewelry heist at a Berlin department store in 2009, three masked men stole six point five million dollars worth of merchandise.

SPEAKER_01

Wow.

SPEAKER_00

But left behind a sweaty rubber glove.

SPEAKER_01

Oh god.

SPEAKER_00

Uh police trace the DNA to uh Hassan and Abbas O.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_00

Um, they're 27-year-old twins at the time whose full names by German law cannot be disclosed. Oh, that's why it's just called O.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, gotcha.

SPEAKER_00

Um, the brothers uh who have records of theft and fraud um came up in the government criminal database when they did the DNA. But since they're identical twins and they share 99.99999% of the genetic information.

SPEAKER_03

Right, like us.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. There's no way for investigators to determine which sibling did it.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, so what do they do? Can they they can't charge either one?

SPEAKER_00

So after five weeks of searching for any more information on this robbery, they had to fucking let both of them go.

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Um, yeah, it says uh from the evidence we have, we cannot deduce that at least one of the brothers took part in the crime.

SPEAKER_03

Hmm. So yeah, they're just some they're off scot-free.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Six and a half million dollars worth of like I feel like that much. Okay, but that would have been. Weird how uh they both have Lamborghinis.

SPEAKER_03

But don't you feel like but it was in merchandise.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Don't you think that that was like confiscated and then they did the trial, and they're like, okay, you're gonna give us back all the shit, but guess what? You're neither one are gonna be charged.

SPEAKER_00

Mm-hmm. Speaking of jewelry heist, did you hear that story of that guy that uh swallowed like a fucking like a four million dollar piece of jewelry?

SPEAKER_01

No.

SPEAKER_00

And uh they retrieved it. Oh so someone somebody at the jail was sifting through his poop.

SPEAKER_03

Sick. Why wouldn't they just have him like have surgery performed?

SPEAKER_00

The uh they that would be fucking tax dollars.

SPEAKER_03

Well, that's that would be like a fucking and then well, and then the risk behind it, right? So they're like, just we're gonna wait for you to shit it out.

SPEAKER_00

So that's gotta be heavily discounted, right?

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I wouldn't think so.

SPEAKER_00

Because it was like it was like a a a really expensive Tiffany, like one item thing.

SPEAKER_03

Like it who is gonna buy that?

SPEAKER_00

I don't know somebody that fucking uh loves poop, I guess. I don't know. Like, because even if you put it. Like crazy. Uh you still know like this went through somebody.

SPEAKER_03

That's right. That's disgusting. But also to be the guard that has to sift through the shit.

SPEAKER_00

Uh you could not pay me enough.

SPEAKER_03

No. No.

SPEAKER_00

To sift through someone else's shit. I mean, don't get me wrong, I sift through mine all the time just to be like, hey.

SPEAKER_03

Stop it. How's it going? That's disgusting. I have a card. Someone else's having to bag it like my dog shit and take it in for a fecal sample because I now know that there's a bag of shit sitting in my car.

SPEAKER_00

Like, oh God. Yeah, don't do that during the summer. Oh fuck.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, well, I mean, sometimes I don't have a choice.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, gross. Wait, how often are you taking fucking tupwear turds to well, this hot mess when he was little, I had to take it in all the time. I kept eating rabbit shit and what else? Well, who knows what else? I was like, oh my god. It would just not be solid.

SPEAKER_00

It was really gross. Yeah. So that that's all the stories of the twins. The twins that I have. And I think we solved it.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I think that yeah, there is normally an evil twin.

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't know if normally there's an evil one, but I would say if one is gonna be bad, most likely both will be bad.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

You know, I think that was from most of the stories, it seemed like that was the conclusion.

SPEAKER_03

At least like the twins in our family are they're good. They're good twins.

SPEAKER_00

We don't know that.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I guess we don't know what happens behind closed doors. Did you also know, um, on on a nice ending note, did you know that it goes back like oh goodness, probably a hundred years or something, maybe more now, that it skips every other generation in well, I guess it would be mom's side of the family.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And that there were great uncles that were born without eyes. They were twins, and they had no eyes.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Jesus.

SPEAKER_03

Did they just uh just didn't have eyes?

SPEAKER_00

Give them like a postpartum abortion or something? No.

SPEAKER_03

I mean, you I don't think they didn't have to be.

SPEAKER_00

Well, but back then there's no it's not like now where we have like means of like a normal life.

SPEAKER_03

Well, they're not just gonna put like glass eyes in there and be like, oh good luck. At least now they look kind of normal.

SPEAKER_00

But it was just like just being blind.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know. Again, this was like mom story, and so this could be real, but I don't know.

SPEAKER_00

Helen Keller shit.

SPEAKER_03

It could have been like something that she like wanted to scare me, and now I was having night terrors of like people without eyes just like attacking me. Again, the trauma. Yeah, the trauma, but yeah, so okay. I think we solved it.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, we Scooby-dooed the hell out of this and yeah, we did, figured it out.

unknown

All right.

SPEAKER_00

We'll see you guys in the next one. We love all of you, and please pretend to be kind to each other, even your twin. Yeah, especially your twin because they might kill you. They could be the evil one.

SPEAKER_03

That's right.

SPEAKER_00

All right, we love you, we love ya.
