The opening credits on this, it's like Marilyn Manson, like like peak Marilyn Manson style with like the stop motion stuff, like the creepy, where it's like you get a a vibe right away with this movie.

Yeah. Oh my god. It f I yeah. Apparently I didn't read the fucking credits. Um okay, so I love that it like pans to the well, the very modern house because it's house on Haunted Hill, but it was an old sanitarian.

Yeah, so they totally changed. They were like, this is gonna be an asylum. So it's kind of like the house on Haunted Hill doesn't really fucking make any sense.

Yeah, exactly. On the hill. Yeah, it's like they they kind of changed it a little too far. But like as far as the story, yeah, it's pretty fucking real fucking good. So we uh we see a caretaker, and you can tell it's like old timey.

Uh so you know, a little bit of foreshadowing where he uh he's bringing some brand new pencils. Oh, this is like I love those pencil sharpeners. Well, but I think this this movie had to have started my obsession with ASMR because like this intro where he's got the brand new pencils and he's sharpening them, you know, and it's pretty quiet, like you just hear it, and then he blows the shavings off.

Well, before that, it was like uh, so there's patients everywhere. Oh, yeah. And then the mustache doctor throws the switch and it locks the whole asylum down. Like uh fucking shit on the windows, like everything. Yeah, like totally fucking locked down. That yeah, and then uh then it it goes into like the news story of uh when this all happened. Yeah, almost like a like a horror podcast, like talking about shit. Oh my gosh, kind of. Yeah.

It was pretty cool. And then it shows the chick who's watching like the show, the crime show, about the whole surgeon gone mad.

Yeah, and this I can never remember her name.

I don't know, but she's in a bathtub drinking a Bloody Mary, like a bubble bath. That's my jam with like a whole thing of vodka next to her. I'm like, is she just continuing to take a few sips and then pour more vodka in?

Mm-hmm. So she's watching the this documentary or whatever, and we learned that that was from the 1930s when it went into lockdown and burned the fuck out of everybody.

So, and I think it did say that uh what was it, seven, six or no, five, five people lived.

So yeah, then then we meet Mr. Price uh at his amusement park giving an interview. And I love this so much where he's like, ours starts at the top, so then they take this elevator ride up to it. And then the fucking the elevator starts freaking out. He's like, he sells it too.

Oh yeah. You know, like he's like, Oh, this is a this is not supposed to happen.

He's like, we're all gonna die. Yeah, like, oh my god. It reminds me of the first time I went on the Hollywood Tower of Terror.

Have you ever been on that ride? Fuck. I think I had a seizure. I'm not kidding. Like when the doors open, you could see out over everything and then it drops.

It's so crazy that ride because so you're like, you feel like you're going sideways this whole time. And then all of a sudden the doors open and you're like, oh fuck, we're way the fuck up here. Like it shocks the hell out of you because you didn't know you were going up the whole time.

And every ride is different because it'll like drop you like two stories or something, be like, oh, something happened. And then it takes you like back up.

Because I went on it multiple times. I don't know why. Scared the shit out of me, but and then it took us back up and then dropped us like all the way down. Yeah. That was crazy.

So like I'm the my pictures, I'm holding my glasses the whole time.

I had like a bag and I had it around my ankle, and so in the picture, the bag is up like in the air. It's fucking crazy.

Uh let's see. Oh, so yeah, the elevator goes into like a free fall, and they're all like freaking out, like, we're gonna die, you know? And then like it cuts to like price amusement parks.

And then it opens up and they're at the top of the roller coaster, which is also crazy.

And then, like, that was great because uh he was like, it gets a whole lot scarier from here, or something like that. He said something like that, and then like the roller coaster right behind him. I know, like great timing. So he he talks uh to his wife. No stranged wife.

You gotta go back to the roller coaster when the part comes apart.

And then he had dummies in the other roller coaster.

Yeah, I think it doesn't really like portray it well in the movie, but I think it's you're behind it's like almost like a chase car.

So you're behind a different car. Yeah, one full of uh mannequins. Yeah. And so you see the other car go off the fucking tracks.

Yeah. And then uh she's like, honey, there's a list. Yeah, she emails him a list of or she puts it on his desk and then he shreds that fucker.

Yeah, just he's like, fuck your party. Yeah, seriously. I love that. But then then it shows uh the ghost getting into his computer and changing the guest list. But it's so funny because you can see the shadow on the screen. Like this was early laptop era, so like they couldn't figure out very much.

No, definitely not. So I love the right, then it's Marilyn Manson, and it's a hearse leading all the limos with the people on the guest list to the house.

And did you notice that the one chick has the flashlight on the whole time? Like, there's fucking spotlights. Like, what are you it was kind of dumb, but but yeah, it did give like it was kind of like that, but also like a little beetle juicy vibes, too.

Like real they did a really good job at like the creepy factor. I think this whole style, like the late 90s, early 2000s, like horror movies. I think we're really good at like doing dark, creepy. Because now it seems like I don't know, like that style went away.

It's like a weird stained glass. But it looked like faces and mouths and shit. It was kind of creepy.

Yeah, and uh Chris Catan, he explains that it was uh commissioned by the doctor, sort of like uh demons.

Yeah, like from the house when it was built. Um, and then Evelyn walks in, and it's funny because she immediately says, Who the fuck are all of you? Yeah. And then the foreshadowed stained glass fucking shatters.

And a guy like eating a sandwich.

Mm-hmm. Um then Chris Catan, he wants his fucking money, and he's like real annoying about this. He's like, I want my money, you know, and I know like the whole fucking time. He's like, I just want to get out of here. But before he gets his check, Price tells everyone uh why they're there. And it's that each one has a check for a million dollars to cash, and whoever stays the night gets that, gets the total. So it's five million dollars total that they could get, and that's because in the invitations, I think it said that. Like it was a real short shot of like the invitation, what it said.

And then he says, the house is alive. We're all going to die.

Mm-hmm. So then uh they decide to go to the basement or they all for some reason to try to get out.

Yeah. So then before they go down, they get party favors. And this is so fucking cool. It's like yeah, the little coffins floating in like smoky water. I was like, fuck, that's cool.
