1.248 Coming Together in Unity

1 Cor 1:9-10 is the text for today's discussion. Listen as Bro. Meador begins to bring out the necessity of the unity of the faith, and that means.

This is Brother Metter, and I greet you in the precious name of Jesus. Glad to see everyone with us today. Hoping this word's gonna be a wisdom, strength, knowledge, and understanding of what God is now doing in the earth. You know, when you look around at all the situations going on, there's a panic, there's a fear, there's an uncertainty. And it's like places in our nation and on the face of the earth are in chaos, they're in turmoil. And so much of it has to do with people not hearing the word of God and walking upright before him and walking under his divine protection. Now, I know there's people in this country that love God and people around the world that love the Lord, but when you look around at our nation, you cannot see the trouble and chaos and upsetness and fears and say we are a nation that's walking with God and God's blessings is upon us. It's you you can't do that because it doesn't ring true. So the Lord has begun this week through myself and my wife ministering to try to get people to understand what the problem is and where we are missing that working of the Spirit of God in the earth and and in our lives. So uh we'll put it out there, do the best we can, and you're the one that's gonna have to make the decision. But we were talking the other night, and we spent a lot of our time discussing scripture, talking about things in the earth, and seeking God for an answer. We need an answer, children. We need an answer to bring this nation through. We need an answer to bring this nation out of the calamity and chaos it's in and the confusion of face that's come upon it. We need an answer. And I keep putting it out there and putting it out there and trying to tell people the only answer is being still and seeking the face of God. We don't need to try to have revivals right now. We don't need to be gathering people together several nights in meetings. I don't care if it's under 10 in churches in Oldton Field. We, if you're gonna come together, come together and pray. Come together and seek the face of God for God to stand up in this nation, for God to stand up in the earth and give the ministers the boldness and the confidence to declare the word of the Lord and the fight for the faith that was once delivered to the saints. You know, the Lord spoken his word in Psalms 133, and I'm gonna go over there. But my wife and I were talking this week, and she said, I'm not understanding why it doesn't seem like there's been a word from the Lord since the days of the early church to really govern the church. It just, I know there's men that have popped up over the years, and there's been a uh a visitation of the Spirit of God here and there, but as far as a word from the Lord like came to the early church and shook the nations, you know, when that spirit fell on them and they come out uh and they began to go out through all the earth, it wasn't very long till they got in the cities and Paul began to go to heathen nations and began to declare the gospel of Jesus Christ to the heathen, people that had never heard about Jesus. They might have known about God, they might have known about a spirit being, but they didn't know about Jesus Christ and the gospel of the kingdom with power of healing and deliverance. They had no knowledge of this. And when Paul went to Corneas, Corneus in Acts chapter 10, he was a man that loved God. He fasted and prayed to God always. Uh, he had built tabernacles and helped them build synagogues so they could worship. He had been good to the Jews. He was a Roman, he was a Gentile, but he wasn't a heathen. He believed in God. He just didn't know about our God by his name Jesus. So when I'm sorry, when Peter went uh and ministered to him by the direction of the Holy Ghost, God opened his understanding to uh the gospel of Jesus Christ and this gospel of the kingdom. Well, when the gospel began to be ministered throughout Asia or Europe, all in the Middle East and all through that Mediterranean. If you look at the missionary maps, you can see that whole Greece, that whole Italy. All of that in there was ministered to. And the Bible said in one place, they said these men that have turned the world upside down have come to our city also. We need a move of God that's gonna turn cities upside down with the name of Jesus and power of deliverance, healing, and salvation. It's time to get back to the faith. It's time to get back to the foundation, the word of God. It's time to get back to what works and come together in unity. You know, and in Psalms 133, this is what the Lord said in verse 1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity. And there's got to be a unity come. There's got to be a unity. Paul talked about unity in the book of Ephesians, uh, the fourth chapter, two different times. I think it was in the third verse. He said, Endeavor to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace. And then he went on later in the fourth chapter, I think it's around the 13th verse, he said that we all might come into the unity of the faith. So Paul was promoting unity, and I am for unity. I am for the church coming together. It's got to, in one mind, in one accord. And you may say, well, Brother Metter, I'm all for unity. Okay, that's good. But what are you going to unify behind? What are you going to get behind? What are you going to unify behind that is going to bring a unity, going to bring a closeness, gonna bring a oneness. That word unity means oneness. What are you going to get behind? What do you believe that is going to bring the church together and bring the body of Christ together? Like Paul said in 1 Corinthians, the first chapter and the 10th verse, this is what, we'll go to the ninth verse. This is what Paul said. God is faithful, by whom you were called unto the fellowship of his son, Jesus Christ our Lord. Verse 10. Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing. Paul said, speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. So if you're going to get together behind something, what is it that you're going to get behind? What is it that's going to bring unity? Because without unity, this country is headed for great trouble. Without a unity in the church, without people coming together in prayer and knowing what to seek God for, without there being a clear word of direction and wisdom and understanding to lead God's people, and God's people are going to hearken to it and hear the voice of the Lord, hear the word of the Lord, and get behind what God's speaking, and nothing's going to happen. We're going to keep going on our different ways. We're going to keep going on in division, confusion, chaos, turmoil, and shamefaceness is what I believe it was what Ezra and Daniel said. They were shamefaced. Confusion of faith that's come on us. Said we're ashamed. So we need to be ashamed because we're the greatest nation on the face of the earth. We've been given the greatest prosperity, the greatest liberties, the greatest individual rights, freedom to worship God. And that's being challenged now. That's why we've got to come together in the same mind, the same judgment, speak the same thing, and there be no divisions. I pray this word gets down in your spirit. I pray you get in the word. Begin to study this out as this is presented to you. My wife is speaking on it. I'm speaking on it. I'm fixing to do our video Bible study on it. And I'm going to be putting out some longer words on it. But you hear what I'm telling you. There's got to be a coming together. And it's got to be by the Spirit of God in one mind, in one accord. There can be no division. We've got to have the same mind, the same judgment, and speak the same thing. And that's what's in this right here. It can't be what you want to believe. It can't be how you decide you want to believe. It can't be your interpretation of this. This has got to be given by the Spirit, and we got to follow this. We got to follow what was given to the early church. We've got to get back to the foundation, get back to the government, get back to the leadership. Because we don't, our nation is going to shipwreck. And children of God, you don't want to see the troubles in this nation. If any of y'all ever visited third world countries and you've seen the poverty, the sickness, the disease, the chaos, the government setting down on people and putting people in bondage under a dictatorship or a monarchy and people living hard lives, you don't want this nation to go there. So if you don't want to see this nation go through chaos and fears and persecution like she's never known, it's time to come together and fight for the faith that was once delivered to the saints.
