Understanding 24-Hour Movement Behaviours: Insights from Dr Louisa Herring
In this episode, we’re joined by Dr Louisa Herring, Physical Activity Research & Implementation Lead at the Leicester Diabetes Centre, to discuss her expertise in 24-hour physical activity behaviours and their impact on health.
We explore how looking at all forms of movement across the day, rather than exercise alone, gives a more complete picture of physical activity.
Dr Herring also introduces the ‘5 S’s’ of physical activity: sleep, sitting, stepping, sweating, and strengthening, and explains how small changes in each can make a significant difference to long-term health.
