The strength you always wished you had is what keeps you upright and moving forward when the world is a battering ram on your senses. The confidence you always wished you had is the ready smile to a stranger, the nod of a head, and the way you always give compliments when you like someone's outfit or the way they wear their hair. You don't see how strong you are, because you're struggling to get through each day. But when you get through this and look back, you'll see that many would have given up long before. You don't see how confident you are. Because confidence is not about putting that bikini on and walking around like you are in the world. It's putting that bikini on in the first place. That courage you always wished you had is the reason this poem exists. You don't see how brave you are because you're just too busy getting on with it. You do what has to be done, whatever it takes, because that's who you are. You stood up in a room full of people and spoke with passion about something you hold dear. Nobody saw how scared you were because you paused, you took a breath, and you owned it. If you could see what I see, you'd never doubt yourself. If you could see what I see, you'd rule the world. These days of doubt seemed long and drawn, but they were over in a flash. It's time now. You're ready to be seen. You are the brightest star in the sky. You are the moon in all her glory. You hold the goddess within you. Shine, my precious love.
