EP 27 - Straight Up. ๐ธ Extra Dirty: Cocktails, Chaos and Poor Choices
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
๐ธ Things started with a cocktail recipe.
That's about the only thing that stayed on track.
This week, L.A. and Mikey G mix up a peanut butter whiskey cocktail and somehow end up discussing celebrity hall passes, dating preferences, hairdresser horror stories, concert experiences, Madonna, Morgan Wallen, and a few topics that probably should have stayed off the microphone.
Along the way, L.A. shares some behind-the-scenes stories from life behind the salon chair, the duo debates confidence versus age when it comes to style, and they reveal which celebrities they'd invite for a drink if they had the chance.
It's funny, completely unfiltered, occasionally inappropriate, and exactly the kind of conversation you'd expect from Straight Up. Extra Dirty.
โ ๏ธ Warning: Contains peanut butter whiskey, celebrity crushes, questionable advice, and absolutely zero self-control.
Cheers. ๐ป

Oh my gosh, like if it's time to whip out the cocktails then.
SPEAKER_00What time is it?
SPEAKER_02It's cocktail time.
SPEAKER_00Does it really matter?
SPEAKER_02Does it? There's no there is no cocktail time. That's 24 hours a day. Any time is good for a good cocktail.
SPEAKER_00We're talking about drinks, not your sex.
SPEAKER_02Okay, I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_00All right, so last night I saw you for my hair. Yes. And we were talking about banana ball sacks or something like that. And you said you have this great freaking fabulous drink. So it's Sunday. What is this drink you're going to make us?
SPEAKER_02Well, today we're gonna make a peanut butter d.
SPEAKER_00A peanut butter what?
SPEAKER_02Peanut butter d goes great with balls. Yeah. Alright, so basically it's it's tell me how you make a little peanut butter d and I'll show you how I make the balls. We just I just need a little ice.
SPEAKER_00Okay, I got the ice. I'll be your soup.
SPEAKER_02Soup.
SPEAKER_00I will get you your ice. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I need two cans of ginger beer.
SPEAKER_00Ginger beer, would you like me to open them for you? Oh, I got it. Okay. So two cans of ginger beer. So where did you come up with this? Where did you come up with this recipe?
SPEAKER_02Well, you know, I was just screwing around in the kitchen one day.
SPEAKER_00Like literally, or just figuring out?
SPEAKER_02Literally, figure, literally on the counter.
SPEAKER_00My god.
SPEAKER_02I didn't get a peanut butter, just so you know. What is that? It's peanut butter whiskey.
SPEAKER_00Wait, let me smell that. It smells like peanut butter. It tastes like peanut butter.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it smells like peanut butter.
SPEAKER_00Tastes like peanut butter, too.
SPEAKER_02Have you ever had this?
SPEAKER_00I did, but not that. It was called screwball. Is that the same thing?
SPEAKER_02It's similar, yes.
SPEAKER_00It's a whiskey with peanut butter flavor.
SPEAKER_02But it's a peanut butter flavor. Like they also have fireball, like which is a cinnamon, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh yeah, that's good.
SPEAKER_02I like spicy.
SPEAKER_00You know, I like spicy.
SPEAKER_02Spicy glitch shot.
SPEAKER_00I don't want the spicy glitch out. You don't want to see this spicy clit shot. Minus another 20 years, maybe you would have.
SPEAKER_02Alright, now we're adding a splash of banana liqueur because we're not the d. There's no banana.
SPEAKER_00Why do you put the banana on like where does the banana come from? Or you just like bananas?
SPEAKER_02Well, yeah. Who doesn't like a chocolate peanut a chocolate banana? I'm just saying.
SPEAKER_00Alright, okay.
SPEAKER_02Alright, anyway, shake it up.
SPEAKER_00So, what'd you do last night? What'd you do last night?
SPEAKER_02Well, we ended up going out for a drink. I don't really know how to do these things. So, like um, people make drinks for me.
SPEAKER_00I know. You are you are the favorite in the clubs, I heard. From your husband, he told me. Alright, one for you, one for me, you take the little dice. So cheers. Cheers. Am I gonna grow it or am I gonna enjoy it?
SPEAKER_02Well, hopefully you don't have a baby d.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so with that, that's good. Isn't that good? That is good. So speaking of d so what is it that you do like give me an idea of like if the guy doesn't have it all going on down there, but he's handsome as hell, six-pack uh abs. Like, are you still going for it? Or is it if he doesn't have the right? Yes, yes, so that trumps the so that trumps it. So we can get the peanut butter, so we can Okay, so we can get the peanut butter, we can do the peanut butter dust. You'll take the peanut butter d with the plane.
SPEAKER_02With the plane. Okay, so it doesn't only with the plane.
SPEAKER_00So let me ask you a question.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So with that being said, like, like, is there like a like being a gay man, clearly, you're gay. Did you ever like women? Did you ever like women? Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00No. Okay. All right. Moving on to the next question. So, in a relationship, like, if you're so we talked about the d because we're drinking peanut butter d right now, and I want to stay on the subject of penises, whatever you want to call it, balls. Like, do you so what about somebody that's not circumcised? That's a big question I get from women. So now you're a guy who sleeps with men, well, your husband, but what's the difference? Like, what's your thing of well, and others we could talk about?
SPEAKER_02That's a whole other topic. That's a whole swing of television.
SPEAKER_00That's when we're gonna bring your husband in on that conversation. And we're keeping mine out of it.
SPEAKER_02I don't know about another one.
SPEAKER_00So what like I think.
SPEAKER_02That's an Eiffel Tower right there. An Eiffel Tower?
SPEAKER_00What the hell's an Eiffel Tower?
SPEAKER_02You don't know what an Eiffel Tower is? No, what's an Eiffel Tower? Well, that's when you you when when you're with two guys and they're gonna be.
SPEAKER_00I'm trying to try to wait, let me try to figure this out. Oh, okay, go ahead. Sorry.
SPEAKER_02You're in the middle. You're in the middle, and there's one guy in the back and one guy on the other side, and they're high-fiving each other to say, like, we got this. Like, it's like they're giving each other down.
SPEAKER_00I don't even I can't even get a video. Like, what do you mean? That's an Eiffel Tower?
SPEAKER_02I mean, do you want me to get on all fours? Like, how much time do we have? We might need a third. Segments get.
SPEAKER_00Who would that third be?
SPEAKER_02Who would that third be?
SPEAKER_00If you were gonna do an Eiffel Tower, who would Alright, so Eiffel Tower is a sexual position. Okay. Clearly, I don't know anything. I'd love to know from our audience, like out there listening, who's ever heard of an Eiffel Tower? Because now I seem like I'm kind of like lost in the dark ages. So now you're telling me the Eiffel Tower is like this sexual position. Yeah. So when it takes three people.
SPEAKER_02It takes three people.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so who would be your fantasy three?
SPEAKER_02My fantasy three. In an Eiffel Tower. We have to put my husband in there. Of course. Yes, for sure.
SPEAKER_00Of course.
SPEAKER_02Maybe Aquaman? Aquaman? Who's Aquaman? Jason Lamola.
SPEAKER_00Oh, Jason Lamar. Oh, okay. Like, so that's your fantasy.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Like Aquaman's like, I mean, he's so you like.
SPEAKER_00So you like, so that's your type? Like you like these big.
SPEAKER_02Don't ask me who's going in the middle. I'm not gonna answer that one. Who's going in the middle? Aquaman. Totally.
SPEAKER_00So he's like your dream catch then. Alright, because women, for me, I still have like fantasies of like, you know, people that, you know, if I was gonna get a hall pass from, like I would ask. Oh yes, you know I love Brad Pitt. I knew it.
SPEAKER_02I clogged her for the break. Yeah, I do.
SPEAKER_00Because you know what? When I see him, I think of him back from Legends of the Falls. I do. I'm sorry. I love the guy. I think he aged great. I think he did some f shit in his life. But that man is freaking beautiful.
SPEAKER_02He's sexy, yeah. I mean I don't know, Fight Club is Fight Club, yeah.
SPEAKER_00You like Fight Club? Oh, I like him as well.
SPEAKER_02Who doesn't like to get hit here now and there?
SPEAKER_00A little slap around, you know, like um I'd rather pull on his long hair from Legends of the Falls. Man, that dude's he's just it's oh god, I guess.
SPEAKER_02Which way are you pulling on it from? Like the front or the back?
SPEAKER_00Maybe I'll put him in the Eiffel Tower.
SPEAKER_02He would be a good Eiffel Tower, yes.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god.
SPEAKER_02It depends on the character, though. That's true.
SPEAKER_00That is true.
SPEAKER_02Because you don't want them like somebody pegging you from the back when they're from Pike Club, like you know beat you to a pulp.
SPEAKER_00So relationship. So help me out. So what do you think the difference is between? Well, you're a you're a hairdresser, right? So what is it that you see from women that are coming in? Like, what is like, are you completely honest with them or do you tell them what they want to hear?
SPEAKER_02Oh. That's a very good question. So I'd have to say it depends on how much money they pay you. That was it depends on how much money they pay me. Uh it also depends on if I feel like the person is receptive to that.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I know I don't like to bully people. I'm not a bully.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00No. So, like, but so do they come in and they say we'd like this? Like, what happens with somebody who's like, do you believe in the hairstyle or length based on age? Because that is a big question.
SPEAKER_02I believe that how you wear it is how you own it. Like, that's just how it is. Like, if you're gonna be 90 and rock your hair long, you can make that look fashionable. I've seen some pretty sexy women like literally up there, you know, like walking through the street and owning their fashion with long silver hair. Like, I just like you know it's absolutely gorgeous. And and I don't think you always have to show face like that. It's nice to be like natural too.
SPEAKER_00Right. Who are some of like the people you see in on social media or celebrities that you think are on the older scale that can rock it? And tell me who you think shouldn't rock it.
SPEAKER_02Uh Juliana Moore. Like she would look fabulous if she let her gray hair. Actually, the Hunger Games kind of cheated us on that one because we got to see what it looked like with when she wore the silver wig.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_02She's absolutely stunning. Like she rocks it amazing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, she's beautiful.
SPEAKER_02You Nicole Kidman would look amazing, yeah, if she let her if she let her natural grow out. But the thing is, she would probably have to show face. Because she has like that those like very watt like very bland features, so she has to be careful. Like, if you What about her hair length?
SPEAKER_00Because I've seen her with short hair and I've seen her with long hair. Plus, she's married to that wonderful hot musician, Keith Urban. Like, like J Lo, for instance. Oh, she's too old to be wearing long hair like that, and this and that. I'm like, I I'm not bel I I think.
SPEAKER_02I feel like if you wear it, you can own it. It doesn't matter. Just confidence is key. Like, really.
SPEAKER_00Confidence is key.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I like that.
SPEAKER_02That's honestly why I love being in the business I'm in, because it gives people confidence to go into the everyday world and feel fabulous. Like you could be have no makeup on, you could feel like you could even be sick, which by the way, I don't like it when them in sick, but anyway, like you could come in sick and I could do your hair and you could leave and feel fabulous and look good.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And that's what I love about it.
SPEAKER_00That's awesome. How long have you been in business?
SPEAKER_02Uh well, um on my fourth year of business, um, which I just went on my own four years ago, and um prior to that I've been doing hair for 15 years on and off uh for other salons.
SPEAKER_00Who, without saying names, because I know you can't.
SPEAKER_02Definitely not.
SPEAKER_00Who would be your like give me uh an example of a difficult customer?
SPEAKER_02Difficult customer. I have a list of people that are 45 minutes late.
SPEAKER_00Oh I'm not one of them, am I?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Okay. I don't think so, because I'm always on time.
SPEAKER_02No, I always put a buffer in there because there's always like, you know, traffic light or whatever. But you know, you have your occasional one that's like, oh, I just got came from lunch, and or they try to tell you they're from somewhere else or they had to pick their kids up, or blah blah blah. And I'm like, oh, kids. Totally kidding. No, they'll just show up late just to show up late. You know, they they know that I accommodate them.
SPEAKER_00Give me one good tip that you would give anybody that wants to come in and change their look.
SPEAKER_02My tip would be no peanut butter on the d. Because this drink is awful.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. One of the things that we do when we when I sit down in your chair is we just talk about whatever the hell is going on. And like you instantly, you and your husband sang to me when Wicked came out, the entire, entire like show. Like you sang the whole show to me, Wicked. I went and downloaded the soundtrack. And I'm sure you could recite all the lines to it.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. I might stumble a little bit.
SPEAKER_00What was what was one of the songs?
SPEAKER_02Which one?
SPEAKER_00Which one? That's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_02Like, oh I'm not gonna sing.
unknownOkay.
SPEAKER_02Me, me, me, me, me, me, me. Hold on, I gotta clear my throat. So we've got Lady Gaga.
SPEAKER_00What other shows? Like, when I come into your salon, you got Lady Gaga playing. You you I downloaded her new album.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00Fabulous, by the way. Are you gonna go see her?
SPEAKER_02Uh, we are not gonna go see her.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02We'll be out of town.
SPEAKER_00Oh, okay. I have really, where are you going?
SPEAKER_02Somewhere good. Puerto Rico, I hope.
SPEAKER_00Is it is she coming here?
SPEAKER_02Is who coming here? Lady Gaga. She'll be in Miami at the Cassier Center.
SPEAKER_00Oh, I can't believe you're not going. My friends in San Francisco were all going. Dude, they sent me they sent me video. It's freaking awesome. You did go see Kylie Minogue.
SPEAKER_02I did see Kylie Minoke.
SPEAKER_00And I didn't realize she was this huge, like she's the Madonna of the of Australia.
SPEAKER_02Like, she's just amazing. She's changed the face of music in so many ways, yeah.
SPEAKER_00I listened to some of her new music too, which is pretty freaking awesome.
SPEAKER_02She's amazing.
SPEAKER_00I and like I guess the LGBTQ community has like adopted her, like they did with more so than ever, because I didn't even know that until you told me that.
SPEAKER_02And Laura Fabian. Sorry, Celine.
SPEAKER_00Oh, really? Okay.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. That whole thing. Have you ever heard Laura Fabian?
SPEAKER_00I don't think so.
SPEAKER_02Laura Fabian, she has a sound that sounds very similar to um Celine Dion, but she's like, she's kind of like um actually, you probably have heard one of her songs, which I don't remember the name of it right now off the top of my head.
SPEAKER_00But And if I try to ask Alexa, she's not gonna answer.
SPEAKER_02No, she's not gonna answer. And I'm not singing it, so that doesn't help either.
SPEAKER_00I'll play it, I'll I'll play it, I'll play it.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, so um, yeah, she's pretty awesome. Um, I would check her out. I would say that anybody should check out Laura Fabian if you haven't.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02And also Kylie Minoke.
SPEAKER_00Kylie Minok, yeah, I'm definitely gonna check her out. Would you go see Madonna?
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I I feel the same way.
SPEAKER_02You know, I don't know. My thing my my opinion on Madonna is that she I don't know, she kind of she's just mean to her fans.
SPEAKER_00Like what do you mean?
SPEAKER_02She's rude. She always shows up late. She's I mean, I know it's like a signature. And speaking of, she hates hydrangeas. There was a whole thing with the blue hydrangeas, yes.
SPEAKER_00That Madonna hates?
SPEAKER_02No joke, yes.
SPEAKER_00Really?
SPEAKER_02Well, she's you know what she stomped on them because somebody gave them to her and she had her mic on and she accidentally was like, oh my god, it was like a whole thing. Ever ever since then I lost so much respect because I was like, be gracious gracious, you know, like could it be a piece of paper? Maybe a little kid drew the stick figure or something like that. It still supports your bank account.
SPEAKER_00So the fact that Madonna treated the crowd like that, does that affect the way you feel about her as a musician and a performer? Like, is that gonna s prevent you or stop you from wanting to go to her concerts or download her music?
SPEAKER_02I feel like when you go to a concert to like to like meet people or to when you pay money to go see somebody, you're basically there, you know, to be uplifted, to feel good, to, you know, not to feel abused and unappreciated, and you know, I don't know, it's just a it's a it's a life. So you wouldn't go life anymore.
SPEAKER_00Like for that reason alone, you wouldn't go.
SPEAKER_02I wouldn't go.
SPEAKER_00Like Michael Jackson, like what he did, like there's all these thoughts that he did all this stuff to these kids. I I don't there was never any proof that came out of it, and that didn't stop me from going to see his uh the show that they did on Broadway.
SPEAKER_02Right. Well, and the thing is, and that was freaking fabulous. Madonna's the same thing, they both changed the face of music, it's never been the same since both of those those people like they changed the trajectory of of the way music is, you know. So do I appreciate them for that? Yes, but do I want to contribute further? No. Right. I contributed plenty to all of them mansions and all them places and all that she got. Like, you know, I'm like, all right. Like when she wears the M's, I'm like, that's for Mikey. Because I bought that mother over the course of years buying Madonna sh.
SPEAKER_00So if we could have anybody invited here and they come here to our podcast, who would that person be? Anybody it could be. Singer.
SPEAKER_01Neil Diamond.
SPEAKER_00Neil Diamond?
SPEAKER_01Really?
SPEAKER_00Why?
SPEAKER_01Because my husband loves him.
SPEAKER_00Oh, that's so sweet.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, well, you know. And he'd be fun to make a cocktail with, especially a peanut butter d.
SPEAKER_00I don't know. I I I mean, if I don't know, if I had my I would love to kick it back with Morgan Wallin. I just saw that guy in concert. He's a hell of a lot of fun. He's very cute, but he's young. Not too young, but he's young.
SPEAKER_02Hey, hey, hey. You know what I say about the youngness.
SPEAKER_00I would bring Morgan Wells.
SPEAKER_02Oh, younger men and then older women are more sexually compatible. Just so you know, statistically.
SPEAKER_00You know, he talks about whiskey. This is f โ ing dick right here.
SPEAKER_02Whiskey.
SPEAKER_00So, I mean, I don't know. I would love to sit down with him.
SPEAKER_02I've never had a problem with the whiskey, that's for sure.
SPEAKER_00There's so many people I'd love to sit back and have a cocktail with. So, how'd you make the drink? Tell us about it.
SPEAKER_02It was pretty easy if you remember, we just filled the thing with ice, we put a little bit of peanut butter whiskey, and we put two small cans of the ginger beer.
SPEAKER_00What's that banana thing?
SPEAKER_02Oh, and a splash of the banana liquor.
unknownAll right.
SPEAKER_00It was refreshing. It was good.
SPEAKER_02It was refreshing, yeah.
SPEAKER_00It was good. Thank you, Mikey G. Looking forward to the next cocktail.
SPEAKER_02Neil Diamond, if you're listening, join us to make a cocktail.
SPEAKER_00Morgan Wallen, where the hell are you? I need you to come here and have some whiskey with me, and I need you to sing the song that you wrote co-wrote for your mom because I went to your concert and you didn't sing the song. All that money I spent. I brought myself to the concert, and all I want to do is dance to him, to you singing that song, and Miranda Lambert sang it. Beautifully, but I'd love to have you come and shoot some whiskey with me. Miranda Lambert shoots a fabulous. But I'm waiting for your morning.
