You are listening to the Rockstar Mom, a podcast for high achievers who are ready to get off of autopilot and live a life with more intention, peace of mind, and happiness. This is a space to expand, dig deep, get clear, and take action towards living your most authentic, aligned life. I'm Megan Caldwell. As a mom of three, two-time burnout survivor and empowerment coach and speaker, I've cracked the code on what it actually takes to thrive at work and home, ditch perfectionism and people pleasing, get your schedule under control, and live with more ease. So you've got more time and energy to do the things you love without the mom guilt. It's time to get out of your head and into action. Now is the time to live your most rock star life. Let's go. Welcome back, my friend. Oh my goodness. The day that this episode releases is the day that season two of the Rockstar Mom virtual event officially kicks off. We release our first interviews today, and I am just so excited for this phenomenal event. I am gonna take a little bit of time during today's episode to share a little bit more about that. But first, I was just reflecting back on a conversation that I had with a really good friend this weekend. And we were talking about real life stuff, as I often do with some of those closest people in my life. The good, the successes, the wins, the progress forward, but also the really hard when it comes to business or relationship or home or aging, all of the real thing. And the whole theme of our conversation together was this whole concept of complacency versus vibrancy. At what point in our lives do we choose to just settle and be complacent and just say this is how things are? For the majority of people in my circles, this is very rare. It's far and few between because we are achievers, we are go-getters, we are those with growth mindset, we are those that say, What could this look like? I want more. And we get curious. And so that's what I invite you to really jump into today is how do we get out of the space of complacency and almost like victim mentality in terms of like, well, I guess this is just what life dealt to me, and really step into a place of empowerment and into a space where we are living our most vibrant, our most rock star lives. And that starts with just making a choice to change. But before we can actually choose, we have to bring awareness to it and we have to be aware of is the life that I am living right now the one that I truly desire? That is one of my favorite questions to ask women is what is it that you truly want? What is it that you, yes, you truly desire? Not your kids or your spouse or the expectations you've placed on yourself or the expectations others have placed on you. But what is it and what does a vibrant, wholesome rock star life truly look like for you? Now, my guess is if you are listening to this podcast, listening to this episode, you don't want complacency. You want more. You want to feel freaking awesome. You don't want to just go through the motions. You don't want to be caught in autopilot. You don't want to be feeling overwhelmed and burnt out and exhausted all the time. You really want to step into a place of just freaking feeling awesome. And again, with our world at large, with life circumstances, with the aging process, this can sometimes be hard. And so if you're in that space, know that you're in the right place here. As that is one of our biggest goals here is to help you move into a space of living a life that you truly, truly love. That's what we're about here. You know, I was thinking back to a conversation, another conversation I had earlier this week with a client. And I was helping this particular client through in a private coaching call through a situation that's coming up for her where she's getting ready to travel with her two younger kids, both with special needs, with her mom and her aunt, and just really wanting to step into a place where, like, yes, I have two young kids, and yes, we're going to Disney World. And I also want to have a good time here. I want this trip to be for me as well. And let me tell you, thinking back to this client's progress, this is huge progress and growth for Ford, as this client has really struggled with people pleasing, putting everyone else's needs first, just really putting her own needs on the back burner. And so, as we were talking through this situation of how she can kind of set some boundaries, how she can ask for what she needs, how she can lean in, how she can think to again that bigger question of in this trip, what does she actually want? She had some big unlocks and she's like, oh, it actually doesn't need to be that hard. Here's what I need to do. And everything's gonna keep going, the world is gonna keep spinning, and I can still enjoy and have some fun with this too. Versus again, other mindset, other perspective could be, man, I'm going to Disney with my two young kids, and this is just gonna be crazy and kick, right? So much of our experience stems from how we choose to look at it, our perspective as we go into the new situation. And so as we had worked through this, this situation and some of these hard feelings she was having about this upcoming experience and the anxiety that was caused, and I could see just like this weight lift off of her. And I said, you know, my friend, like now that we've talked through some of this, how do you feel? And she giggled for a hot second and she said, Megan, I feel like a rock star. And anytime my clients say words like that or something like that, it's like I can see the dial has been shifted. I can see that they are truly stepping into that life they desire. I can see that they are taking back their power to say, I can still show up and care for my kids and do my work and keep the home and be in partnership. And I can also freaking feel good doing it. And so that's what this is about. Again, as this client learned her own boundaries, articulate them, honor her own needs, learn to release the guilt associated with taking time for herself and leaning into things that really bring her joy, she was able to step into the space where she said it aloud. And I don't think she said it just to please me, but she really felt like a rock star, like she was ready to just take on whatever came her way. And that is so amazing. So when I think of what it means to live your most rock star life, to be a rock star mom, um, I've really honed in on what are the qualities and what are the values that so many women are seeking for? And what does it actually mean to live like a rock star, to feel like a rock star? And here are some of those values that I've come up with. And you might agree with them, you might resonate with them, you might also layer in one or two of your own. And that is okay because this is your own journey. But I want to quickly just break down these values very, very quickly, because these values and this whole concept of living your best most rock star life is what leads me into the speakers that I bring on for the Rockstar Mom virtual events, which I'll get to in just a little bit. So the first thing that I think most rock stars have, again, think of your favorite rock star or even pop star or even artist, is energy. All right, oftentimes we are so consumed tending to other everybody that needs, burning the candle at both ends, not thinking of ourselves that we lack energy. We're exhausted all the time. True rock stars find ways to take care of their mind and body so they have the most energy to then give to others to show up on stage, whatever the stage is that they present on that day as mom or as wife or as boss owner or whatever it might be. The second one, which I hear women desire so, so, so often in my world, is authenticity. Think about your favorite rock star. Hopefully, at this point you know that my favorite is pink. Is what does it look like for a rock star to show up as their authentic self? They don't hold back their words, they show up with style, right? And that authenticity really brings a sense of confidence. So as they step on stage, and again, you and your rock star life, as you step into your life in this rock star way, you have this sense of confidence to say, I know what I want, and I'm okay to ask for it and to go after it. Just like I was sharing about my my client. As she has worked on some of this deep personal development, she has gained the confidence to ask for what some of her needs are. Another key value of rock stars is groundedness, okay? Is how do you feel most grounded in your body? Again, we live in a world with so much stimulation, which is pretty chaotic right now, both in the greater world as well as oftentimes in our own home environment, is rock stars know how to ground themselves before they get on stage, right? It's mindfulness practices, it's really being in tune with your body, is being able to be up there and just again feel that sense of grounding, feel that sense of calm. I think confidence ties into there as well. Confidence kind of goes across the different spaces. The next one I think of when somebody says, I feel like a freaking rock star, or you witness a rock star, is this whole concept of self-expression. And I think as we get to know ourselves best and we are able to show up as our most authentic selves, we are able to express ourselves more fully. Whether that being, those that know me know that I wear tinsel in my hair all the time. I would never have thought of doing this years ago. I would have been way too concerned about what are people gonna think about the shiny stuff in my hair. Does Megan think that she's like a preteen? No, I freaking love it. I think it's fun, and so I do it. Is how do we have the confidence to express ourselves in a way that feels true to us? And this could be in the way that we dress, it could be in the way that we carry ourselves, it could be in the way that we go into conversations or stand up for what's right. It could also be when I think of self-expression, is in what ways are we being creative? In what ways are we finding joy? In what ways are we having some freaking fun? And the last one I want to share today, in terms of as I think about rock stars, is despite the energy that they portray on stage, and again, the self-expression and the confidence, they also have to have an internal sense of peace, right? Where they are able to feel that calm space on the inside because that then allows us, it allows them to share their gifts even more fully and more wide. So, as I share with you a little about the Rockstar Mom virtual event, I want you to keep kind of these values and these pieces of rock stardom, if you will, just at the forefront, because that's what guides and has led me to create the Rockstar Mom Virtual Event. Now, as you probably heard me say, I am so freaking excited for season two of the Rockstar Mom Virtual Event. And now, if you are catching this in the future, not in November 2025, know you can either access this event through a VIP pass, or maybe we're in season three or seven or 10 at this point. Okay, but I want to share just a little bit about what it is and why it might be something that you, our podcast listener, is interested in. So the Rockster Mom Virtual Event, it is it is a free online virtual summit. And I have brought together over 25 experts, experts who are just as passionate as I am about helping you live your best life where you feel good, where what you portray on the outside and all of your success and your accolades on the outside match how you truly feel and want to feel on the inside. As I shared, I have carefully vetted the speakers for this event. And we've got doctors in this group, we've got people working towards their PhDs, we've got multiple best-selling authors, we've got coaches, we've got business owners, many of them are moms, but not all. And we just have an amazing, amazing lineup of speakers who are able to speak on a variety of topics. And I'm gonna share a little bit about those topics in just a moment. But we also really cut through the BS in this event. And with our goal being, and I say this when I vet every single speaker, is I want you to provide so much value to our audience that they are able to listen to our conversation, take something away from it, and start to take action that day. Not just present like big picture thinking or things that just kind of get you thinking, but it's how do we get out of thinking mode and into doing mode? So many people in my spheres, we are high achievers, we are lifelong learners, we are good at reading the books and listening to the podcasts and having the conversations with friends, but sometimes it's harder to actually get into action. So that is the main focus of this event is to help you not just be consumers of really good conversation, but what's going to be your next step? I can almost guarantee that listening to some of these episodes, there will be at least one speaker that changes your life in some way. Again, I can't make promises, but I can almost guarantee because that is just the value and the depth of these conversations. So much was brought to the table. Another cool thing about this event is all of these episodes have been pre-recorded. So you can listen to them at your own pace, earbud in as you're driving, as you're doing dishes. We we give extended exposure time. So you've got a full seven days to listen to each episode. And there is an option for a VIP upgrade where you can have lifetime access. And so it really is, I like you to think of it almost like a buffet. And as you'll as I go through these topics here in a second and share with you some of our speakers, you'll see why. Is we have a variety of topics. And depending on your current needs, the season of life that you're in, I want you to think of it like a buffet. Pick and choose. You feel like fruit today, or you feel like bacon and eggs. All right. And so you don't have to listen to them all. In fact, that's one way to really help yourself move away from that perfectionist tendency or all or nothing mindset, is really just to focus on the conversations that strike a chord for you, that get you curious. And I know that there will be some in this lineup for you. And the last really cool thing about this event, different than just consuming, say, my podcast episodes over and over again, is I have asked every single speaker to provide some type of high-value free gift. And so every single speaker is providing some type of free gift, combining the values of this gifts, it's over$1,000, probably over$2,000, truthfully. And these are anything from chapters of their best-selling books to courses that they usually charge$297 for, to audio sessions, to free calls. There's lots of different things. And so, really, again, this is for you, my friends. This is for you, my listeners, as we want you to help get help get you into action. So I just want to give you a glimpse of who's gonna be at this event. So I love, love, love the intimacy and the deepness of some of the relationships that I've had. Dr. Steph Lopez, she is a former NASA psychologist, put that together. We get really, really deep on what it looks like to love yourself and to be more connected with yourself. If you're interested in internal family systems, Reyna Garner is our expert there. Really fascinating conversation with her about learning about the different pieces of you and why we operate and how we heal. I loved my conversation with Marielle Melling. She has a five-step system for how we can deal better with conflict and really communicate better. And I know from my own personal development journey as well as all of the women that I've worked with, is we all desire deeper connection with those around us. And so this first group of speakers I'm sharing with you really helps us get to that. Julie Schaefer also talks about this whole concept of a sort of communication. She shares a three-step process, which is amazing. And Kyle Benson, one of my favorite conversations, is really we went deep on how do we deepen our connection with our partners? How do we deepen our connection with our partners? He shares so many golden nuggets and tidbits. I've also interviewed many experts who speak directly to our physical health, several that go specific into the nervous system regulation and resiliency space, which many of you know is part of the system that I teach in the Rockstar framework. But these people are like true experts in it. Dr. Julia Kogan shares her entire framework with us, and she walks people through not just picking and choosing different things that might work, but how do you really get to the root of bringing your nervous system down from a 10 down to an eight or a six or a five? Caitlin Perkins is back from season one to join us again on season two. Um, she walks us through a couple specific techniques, including EFP and the time technique. Stephanie High, Rebecca Brandt, and also go into this whole concept of nervous system. And one thing I love about this and having several experts in this space is each one has their own unique approach. And that's what I love about collaborative events such as this is we are all here to serve you, but we all do it in a slightly different way. So you will resonate with somebody in this group. I also have Ashley Schwartz, and she is here as kind of our fitness expert, our metabolism expert, our how do we actually take care of those physical bodies from a holistic standpoint so we can have longevity, so we can ditch kind of those yo-yo diets and ditch the quick fixes and really get into sustainable change. I've got a handsful of handful of speakers who are speaking to psycho health and hormonal health, including Bria Gadd, Renee Fick, Alex Koblefix, Becca Chilzenkowski, Kelly Murray is our sleep expert this season. And she, after years helping parents with their kids' sleep, a pediatric speak sleep, the last couple years, she has really focused on women who are kind of in their midlife, where there's the hormonal shifts and waking up in the middle of the night. And how do we really prioritize our sleep and actually make sleep happen? Because we know that that's so important to both our physical and our mental health. We've got a couple conversations that are relating specific to burnout. Lesha Holzefel has a really unique approach to burnout, as does Shabade Jagal Ramnath, who really works with burnout in terms of entrepreneurs, and she talks all about stress and help increase our stress. A couple of my favorite conversations, let's be real, all of these conversations truly were favorites because they were all just so good, but were around body image, where again, this comes back to the pillar of kind of confidence and self-expression. Dr. Whitney Casaris is back from season one as well to join us again. And this time she really focuses on how we view our bodies and body image, which she actually calls body confidence, as well as how we can help instill this in our kids. And she just released a brand new book, which I have read with my nine-year-old, and it is phenomenal. I also absolutely love my conversation with Judith Gatton. Judith is an attorney by trade and by her schooling, but has started her own business to help women with their own personal style and body confidence, where she shares with us why style is actually an inside job and how can we feel comfortable in the choices that we're making so we can show up most confidently, authentically, and fully as ourselves. I've been on my own journey when it comes to kind of this personal style space and really being able to step into again, truly who you are and how you feel best, which is oftentimes pushing against the norms of what we've been told. A handful of our speakers were specifically in the career entrepreneur space. Sarah Jansen, she talks all about the big leap and she really specializes in helping women move from corporate into entrepreneurship. So if you are looking to make that leap, you're gonna want to catch our conversation. Dana Malstaff is the CEO and founder of Boss Mom. And similarly, she helps moms really build their businesses in a way that works for them, where they can still get to pickup at 2 p.m. And she shares some of her best tips. Felicia Etienne is a leadership coach and again, another repeat from season one, just a phenomenal woman, lots of good tidbits. And she really focuses this time on how we can save up to 40% of our time each week. So if you're struggling with time, check in there. Chelsea Joe Moore is all about systems, both systems when it comes to your business for those business owners out there, but also systems with our home. And her whole approach shows us how we, when we operate in systems in both areas of our life, how much more easeful it can be, how much more impactful it can be. Rachel Coons is our money expert when it comes to systems at home. She is notorious and a really big name in the social space in terms of how we can take ownership and take power back when it comes to money as women. And she really helps women start in one of the quote, easiest spaces, which is with our groceries and putting our grocery bills and really getting to know that space. Kelly Hubble is also all about systems. And in her business, she has helped women really learn how to delegate and offload really, really fascinating conversation. I don't want to give too much away, but she's got an amazing business that helps women really do that so they can put their time and energy into the things that matter most. And lastly in the space is she is the founder of ShellPul, which is an AI app, which helps us with accountability and stick to some of the things that we want. So again, just phenomenal lineup here. We also have Kate House, Julia Sewell of the Self-Made Mom, Lori Oberbrookling. I loved our conversation on energy bleeds, blocks, and boosts. I'm just telling you, my friends, if you cannot hear the energy and excitement in my voice, I'm telling you it's there. This is real. I learned so much in each one of these conversations. As again, I am continuously on my own personal development and wellness journey. And I really, really truly hope that you will tune in for this fantastic free event. Again, the event is titled The Rockstar Mom Virtual Event. You guys know that that's my vibe. I want you to find those ways to really thrive at work and home. Really uncover why balance is BS and it's not what you need or want, how you can get your schedule under control, better time and energy management. This event helps you really learn about ditching perfectionism and exhaustion and breaking that cycle of overwhelm and really reconnecting as to what's most important to you. So even if you're thinking that, wow, this sounds great, but I've got too much on my plate. Well, let's be real. If you are a podcast listener, you're gonna actually love the event because that's what this is. These are real, authentic, raw conversations, minimal editing, because that's like what I like to bring to the world. I've actually shared a couple episodes from season one, if you want to go back and take a listen. And I can't wait to share more of these later. But for now, go grab yourself a free ticket to the Rockstar Mom virtual event. We start today, the day that this episode is released. And I hope, hope, hope to see you there. In the meantime, I bring you back to the very start of our conversation today, which again is you have a choice, my friend.
