Welcome To Rockstar Mom
SPEAKER_00You are listening to the Rockstar Mom, a podcast for high achievers who are ready to get off of autopilot and live a life with more intention, peace of mind, and happiness. This is a space to expand, dig deep, get clear, and take action towards living your most authentic, aligned life. I'm Megan Caldwell. As a mom of three, two-time burnout survivor, and empowerment coach and speaker, I've cracked the code on what it actually takes to thrive at work and home, ditch perfectionism and people pleasing, get your schedule under control, and live with more ease. So you've got more time and energy to do the things you love without the mom guilt. It's time to get out of your head and into action. Now is the time to live your most rock star life. Let's go. Hello, my friend, and welcome back to the Rockstar Mom. I am so excited that you are here with me today. This is going to be a pretty quick episode for you, as I'm just going to be sharing with you a handful of really powerful journaling questions, so guided journaling questions that are best used to start your day. Now, we know, and research also shows, that the way that we start our day will completely influence the way that our day goes. When we choose to start our day with intention and on our own terms, it allows us to bring just more of a positive light and energy, more resilience, more hope into our day. Now, if you enjoy today's episode, I also invite you to check out the link in our show notes, which is to download our free Rockstar Mom morning reset. This is a quick, I think, six or seven minute video, plus accompanying playbook if you want to do some kind of additional deeper thinking to help you really rediscover this powerful morning reset that you can do. You can actually use it throughout other points of the day as well. But check out the link in the show notes if you'd like to explore more. But for today, I want to share with you five really powerful journaling prompts that can, again, help you kind of just set your energy right for the day. And these are ones that you can couple all five of them together and get kind of more of a powerful experience. Or you could just take one or two of them. I always, always, always recommend putting pen to paper, even more so than putting hands to keyboard or hands to keys on your on your phone screen. And if you can't do anything more because maybe you're driving or maybe you're not in a space to actually write in journal, even just pausing throughout this episode to just give yourself a little bit of space, the power of pause here, to just think and reflect on these questions, whether you are listening to this here in the morning time or at some other point later in your day. So let's go ahead and get started here. The first journaling prompt, which is really meant to help release anything that's heavy. So whether you do these first things when you wake up or again at another point in your morning, is just identifying what's feeling heavy, what's pulling you down even as you start your day. So a great question to ask yourself and journal on is what feels heavy on my mind or heart this morning? And what am I ready to release, even if just for today? This question really helps clear your mental clutter and step out of that overwhelm before the day even begins. If we start our day by identifying that hidden shadow or that weight or that stress on our shoulders, bringing awareness to it, though it might feel or sound counterintuitive, actually allows you to then release it, let it go, take it on, acknowledge it. Again, awareness is always the first step of change. So if we're gonna call it out and say, you know what, today thinking about this project or this person just is is heavy on me today, I'm gonna make the intentional choice to let this go. This second question is really to help you kind of reconnect with yourself and get in tune with yourself to start your day. And it is, how do I want to feel today? And what would support me in feeling that way? Again, when we can tune into and be really intentional about how we want to feel. Again, this is very different than all of the things that we want to do, all right, but really tuning into the emotions and the feelings that we want to cultivate for the day and how we want to show up, we are more likely to step into that energy. This really anchors your intention versus just responding or reacting to how the day unfolds. And again, it's it's allowing you to start the day with intentionality. Maybe on a day that you've got your kids home because there's a day off school, how you want to feel is just patient. So you can then take that sense of patience throughout your day. Or maybe you've got some really big work projects or you've got a big work presentation. How do you want to feel? You want to feel confident. So setting your intention with how you want to feel can be really powerful in helping you reconnect to yourself and start the day on your terms. Number three really ties into helping create an identity shift, which is a big part of what we do in your rockstar life community and is a big part of the Rockstar Mom framework. It's not just about the doing or the thinking, but really how are we shifting and evolving as humans and stepping into our truest power as women? Because we have so much power within us, oftentimes we just have to pull it out. So the third question is if I showed up as my most grounded, energized rockst of myself today, what would that look like? What would it actually look like? So maybe you scan through what's on your calendar for today, and what would it look like to show up with groundedness, with ease, with energy, with joy? This helps move you into really embodying that person that you are wanting to become, not just sitting in very specific behavior changes or things you're focusing on. That's what this is really about is who are you wanting to become? Number four actually taps into two of our Rockstar mom practices, as I call them, which are of permission and priorities. And the question to journal on is what actually matters most today? And what can I give myself permission to let be, quote, just good enough. It is so powerful to take that moment to pause and tune in with what actually matters to you today. Because again, a day where you've got kids home from school versus a day where you've got a massive work presentation where you want to show up as your best, it allows you to put your focus and your energy and your intention in the space that you need it and want it to be. Where your focus goes, your energy flows. So if you make that conscious decision at the start of your day to identify what is most important, what matters most. And then also thinking through what other pieces might you have to either let go of or just be good enough because your energy is in a different direction for today. This question can really help us kind of combat perfectionism, combat overfunctioning, you know, feeling the need to have to do everything, quote, perfectly. Coach that I worked with years ago introduced me to this whole concept of Megan, what would it be like if you just did B minus work? Yes, all of you like high achievers, type A, recovering perfectionists who have strived for and gotten A's and A's pluses your whole life. This whole concept of good enough is really like, what can we do today that is just B minus work, maybe even C work?

SPEAKER_00It doesn't have to be perfect, but it'll it'll allow the wheels to keep spinning, but it'll also give me more capacity, energy, mental energy to focus on what matters most today. And then the last question for you here is really stepping into action. You may have heard me talk in the past about this whole concept of value-aligned action. Value-aligned action is when you have such a strong foundation, we call that the Rockstar Mom Essentials, when you are so clear on your priorities, your values, your vision that the actions that you take are in alignment with who you're wanting to become. So, micro-aligned action. Your question to think and journal on is what is one small supportive action I can take today that future me will thank me for? I know. Small and supportive, again, moving in the direction that you want to be going, so important. I often refer to this as our MVA, minimal viable action. What is the smallest action that you can take that's going to help move the dial, that one degree shift to help continue to get you towards some of your goals and towards some of your dreams? This also keeps it really realistic. Again, if we are taking a look at like big long-term change, that can feel overwhelming. What is the one small thing that you can do? As you take that one small step, you start to build momentum, you start to empower yourself, you start to really see that this is doable. So that's where we are at, my friend. There are five powerful, again, questions you can ask yourself, journal on either at the start of your day, recommended, or you can really come back to these at any point during your day. But the key point to this is making the time and space to slow down, to reflect a little bit. The fact that you are engaging in and listening to the Rockstar Mom podcast right now tells me that you've got it within you. You have that desire and that drive to want to make change, to move towards a life where you feel more ease and confidence and joy. And we're not where we're not constantly feeling completely overwhelmed or like we're spinning the wheels on both ends. My friend, you can do this. I'm cheering you on. And again, if you liked kind of these morning kind of reset questions, I also encourage you to check out our free Rockstar Mom morning reset. Again, it's a quick video as well as a quick playbook if you want to dive a little bit deeper into how do we reset when things are hard? How can we really truly best start our day on our terms? All right, my friends, you've got this. I am cheering you on from afar. Know that I am in your corner, and you've got this. Make it a great rest of your day. I'll see you soon.
