Welcome back. We're Nicole and Cherie, and your host of the Twin Cast, where we keep it real about faith, real estate, and leveling up. Nicole, let's go. All right, let's get into it. So, success leaves clues. What a powerful statement. I want to get into it because uh it it's if you really think about it, success leaves clues. I mean, we have a lot of people out here that are successful, but we also have people out here that play a part. So we wanted to talk a little bit about that situation and about success and how we how we look at it. I think the world looks at it, or most people look at it is fancy cars, um, the name brand shoes, purses, uh, designer clothing, things like that. And while si successful people do have those things, um, the people that are trying to get success, it doesn't start there. And that's at first, success is quiet. It's it's a slow uh process, and a lot of times people give up in the middle of trying to become successful because it is simply hard. It is, it's hard work. Um, and I I heard a statement here, you say, um, hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work. I mean, there are so many talented people out there, but if you think about it, how many talented talented people do you know that have the potential to do great things but don't want to put in the hard work? Um, I I would say in uh real estate in my industry, there's um some of the numbers are 87% of agents, um, real estate agents don't stay in the business even after they've been in the business for five years. That doesn't mean that's gonna be a career for them. That just 87% of them drop out of it. Um, so it's hard work, it's knocking on doors, it's getting no's and working for a yes. And um, and that's in any industry, any profession you're in, anything that you want, any goal that you're going to accomplish, you're gonna have to put in the hard work. Yeah, I mean, you think about that. How many doctors do we have out there? How many um, you know, millionaires do we have out there? Not that many because the hard work stops when you get rejected, the hard work stops when you have to say no to the parties, when you have to say no to you have to start sacrificing, you have to create disciplines in your life. Um, that's when we start weeding out people, is when the hard work gets going because it's easy to say I want to be a millionaire. It's easy to say I want six six pet pec abs, you know, like I want to have the skinny waistline. But then when we have to start doing the disciplines that it takes to have those things, that's when the hard work uh, you know, really shows. Are you gonna do it or aren't you? Um, and so the clues that we're referring to are those clues. Like when you see a successful person, I'm telling you the people that have made it to the top of whatever, you know, wherever you're trying to go, when you see those people, you're gonna find that they're leaving clues of hard work, of discipline, of consistency, of showing up when nobody else shows up, when people are saying, you know, you can't do it, they're you know, they're gonna keep doing when their motivation runs out, they're still there grinding. Yeah, I think the motivation part of it, um it is nice to have someone uh in your corner and talking about, you know, giving you having the hype team. Um but sometimes you have to be your own motivation. You have to, um, I was we were talking to a class um on Sunday, uh, it was a group of about 20 students. Something like that. Yeah. Um and and we were talking to them about uh motivation and having a hype team. And sometimes you just don't have that. You have to have your own wants, your own needs, your own reason why you're you're wanting to accomplish this goal. Um, because if you if you don't have anyone else, you have you all the time. Um and you got to be the one to say, hey, I I want this. It doesn't matter what what anyone else says, because that's sometimes how it is. You might be the only person believing in what you're doing. Yeah, sometimes you're gonna be the only person cheering yourself on. Um, but I would encourage, you know, those people, anybody to find your hype team, find somebody that's gonna believe in you and not the crowd that's gonna bring you to the party, it's gonna take you to uh outside of what you're supposed to be doing. They're gonna say, spend the money. You'll, you know, you only live once, you know. Yeah, you hear that all the time. And it's like those are the broke people, those are the people that aren't gonna get to where they're going because they don't have the disciplines. And uh, and I would, you know, try to encourage someone to find the group of people that are gonna cheer you on to your goals and tell you, hey, you can do it, you're almost there, you're gonna make it. Man, think of it like it takes 10,000 hours. I mean, that's the the average that it takes 10,000 hours to become successful at something. So you're a year in and you want to give up. You can't. Maybe you just started, you know, and and that's the truth. And you you'll look back later and think, man, if I had been successful successful in the first year, what did you know, what would that have looked at looked like? You can't. You have to learn what it takes to be successful. You have to have the nose, you have to have the learning opportunities. There's a reason why you're going that 10 years, there's a or that time, that time put in, the hour spent, there's a reason for it because you're learning, you're following forward. Um, that's what John Maxwell would say, falling forward. I think his is he just wrote a book um called that. So um it's a it's a true statement. Fall forward, learn from your mistake. If it's not a failure, if you if you don't learn from it, it's a failure. But if you learn from it, you're falling forward, it's taking you somewhere. Well, you have to have the um mindset too of hey, I'm not quitting, I'm gonna keep going, I'm gonna do it, I'm gonna keep doing it. Um, I recently know and feel like it's important. What what do you say? Uh read leaders or readers, right? Um, and so uh I usually listen to I love music, and uh, but here over I would say probably last six months or so, uh, during my runs and car rides and all those things, I've been listening to podcasts. I uh next to my bed, I have three or four books. Now, have I completed them? No, I like start starting them and then I'll jump to another one. And um I talked to a lot of uh my clients, and some of them are um older and things like that, and they have books everywhere. Um, and one of my clients was recently telling me, she was like, Um, I've read probably all these books halfway through. Um, and now I understand that because it's you you just get started in it, but reading, um, it you can change your perspective and mindset. There's uh you it's a good thing. Oh man, uh it's a game changer. It really is. If if you invest in yourself, um and that is reading and podcasts and all the personal development, you you don't know where you can go. Um, and the sky's the limit. And and you know, I feel like I started that a little bit later in life than what I wish I would have. Yeah, me too. But you know what? We're starting. That's the thing. You can start, you can start at any point of your life. I mean, as long as you're breathing. You're in your 40s, you're in your forties. What the hell? You're right over there in your 40s and you can start now. So it doesn't matter what age, but you know, we are really talking to those young adults because we want to tell them, hey, what we know now, we want to pass to them uh a lot of our clients too. They they say, Man, I wish I would have known what know what I know now, I wish I would have known then. And so we get the we're in the position where we're able to uh give this information to our uh students and tell them, hey, you know, our younger self wish we would have known this. And so, hey, pick up a book and read it. It doesn't matter if it's uh inspirational, uh motivational, uh spiritual, who cares? Just pick something up and read it. If you're just deciding to read, you know, pick anything. But yeah, intention, if you're intentional about it, I mean, it is that could be important as well. Um, and so I would say if you want to be a better speaker, get a book on being a better speaker. If you want to learn about leadership, get a book about learning about leadership. You can intentionally uh pick uh topics that will help you in whatever field that you're trying to grow in. If not, if you're just you know, all the things, get in there with all the things. Read any book. I mean, you nobody's ever said um you lost anything from reading. So I would definitely say that. But Tony Robbins, uh, you know, he he's not the person that uh success leaves clues. He's not the person, but he's gotten a lot of credit for it because uh he's known more uh to the younger generation, but the person before him, Jim Rome. Jim Rome. If you don't know who he is, he's you know phenomenal. Uh, he knows all the things. I mean, when you listen to him, um you're you know, you're you're just gonna love him. Yeah. So find someone, find something that you enjoy doing and think about success leaves clues because I know there's uh a million people out here that are leaving clues and think about any decision you're making, every every move you make, what clue are you leaving? Yeah, we want to leave good clues behind, success clues behind that you know, people after us can look back and say, you know, you they were successful because they did XYZ. They didn't stop when everybody said no, when the door got slammed in their face, when uh, you know, they didn't they didn't stop. They kept on and they kept on and they did it and they did it and they they really did it and uh they kept doing it. Yeah. I mean, also success is a lot of people think about cars and stuff like that, uh, money in the bank, but it doesn't start there. It starts with uh telling the truth. And we talk about that. Credit building. I mean, besides credit, credit, like you said, is just telling the truth. So the very basic principles of life, telling the truth, do unto others as you would like them to do unto you, the golden rule. Start there. I mean, those if you can keep growing on those, uh, that's uh that's success. That's success. There's a there's we could go on the uh uh you know for days about this, but we wanted to give you a few tidbits of what we've been uh working on and looking for those clues and uh showing other people, talking to the younger generation about those clues and what clues they're leaving. So if you like today's episode, like, share, and subscribe. And until next time, keep dreaming big, planning smart, and remember with the right team, you hold the keys. Bye-bye.
