He said, you know, I've called you to preach. I got called to preach when I was just a young boy, you know, nine, ten years old, and I ran from it. Like I I was like, that's not me. You got the wrong guy. I'm never gonna preach. You pulled a jungle. Yeah, I'm never gonna preach. I went the opposite way. I said, I'm never gonna preach. I'm not, that's not it, me. I'm I'm shy. I don't like talking to people. People say I'm an introvert. I don't, you know, I I don't like that. I'm not, I don't never like the spotlight. I've never liked being the center of attention. If there's a crowd, I'm at the back of the crowd. I'm as far away from everything as can. So to me, you know, being a minister, you know, you see that minister in the spotlight. You know, you see that and you see them doing that, and I was like, no, that's not for me. But God said, I've called you to preach. And I've called you to do this. I know, I mean, he just like he spoke to me.
SPEAKER_01Welcome. This is the Testaments of Faith Podcast. I'm your host, Ray Bratshaw. I'm glad you've chosen to listen to the testimonies of our brothers and sisters in Christ. There's no better way to confess your love of Jesus than a testimony of what Christ has done in your life. Welcome to the Testaments of Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bratshaw. Today with me is my good friend and a pastor, John Paul Murphy from the Word of Faith Ministries. John Paul joins us today to give his testimony, and we're going to talk other biblical things and whatever else comes up in our lives because both of us love dogs. We love the bird hunt, so we're liable to carry on for a couple hours if need be. John Paul, welcome to the podcast, man. You are the first, first, first guest in the new podcast studio.
SPEAKER_00I'm glad to have you here. I'm glad to be here. To give part of my testimony is a long one, but how God has brought me from, you know, we didn't have hardly anything, you know, when me and my wife got together and he delivered me out of drugs and alcohol problems. In the earlier part before, you know, really got into with her, we had I had a real problem with drinking and drugs, and I remember hitting the rock bottom. And when I hit that bottom, you know, I just kept on sourcing trying to get a good feeling. You know, you when you get into drugs and alcohol, you're chasing a feeling. It's uh it's just a feeling of a high, it's a feeling of I want to feel good, and you know, the loneliness that that brings along with you. Because alcohol and drugs is nothing but eventually start making you feel lonely.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00And you keep on getting further and further behind. You know, the money, all the money you make's never enough. You keep on getting further and further behind, and you're really like the Bible says, living a life of destruction. You're sowing into that destruction. And, you know, it was ruining my life, and then I got uh caught. Um they charged me with several felonies. They didn't actually charge me, they they came to that point of placing the felonies on me and misdemeanors, and they they threw everything they could at me. Um maintaining a dwelling. They they just everything they could to get to get a point across. And I had a family to help get me out of the situation I was in with the law. And then I had to go through a lot of things in that, but I still didn't change at that point. You know, I was still just, you know, well, I got out of trouble, but it didn't really change. But I remember, you know, in a hotel, you know, on that floor when God spoke to me and said, you know, I've called you to preach. I got called to preach when I was just a young boy, you know, nine, ten years old, and I ran from it. Like I was like, that's not me. You got the wrong guy. I'm never gonna preach. You pulled a jumper. Yeah, I'm never gonna preach. I went the opposite way. I said, I'm never gonna preach. I'm not, that's not it, me. I'm I'm shy. I don't like talking to people. People say I'm an introvert. I don't, I, you know, I don't like that. I'm not, I don't never like the spotlight. I've never liked the center of attention. If there's a crowd, I'm at the back of the crowd. I'm as far away from everything as can. So to me, you know, being a minister, you know, you see that minister in the spotlight. You know, you see that and you see them doing that, and I was like, no, that's not for me. But God said, I've called you to preach, and I've called you to do this. I know, I mean, he just like he spoke to me. And um I laid on that floor and I cried, and I cried because he was calling me even though I was in a muck. I was in a sin, I was in the muck at the very bottom. And I said, Well, Lord, if you'll help me get rid of the things that I'm dealing with, help me get over my pride, help me get over caring what other people think about me. Help me get over these things that I cannot do on my own because I've been trying, I can't do it. I mean, I I have shyness. I can remember the first time that, you know, I made this change and I started getting a little bit more bolder in my faith, a little bit more, and started studying the Bible. They got me up there to, you know, to pray. And, you know, I stuttered uh uh uh uh and I just handed the microphone off because I couldn't do it.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00I couldn't. I was in church since I was a kid. I've always Sunday morning. If there was a perfect attendance badge at church, I would have it. I was always there. I never missed. Ran to sound booth, worked in the church, I played church. I was a good actor at playing church. I could remember coming in on Sunday mornings and, you know, still smelling like the night before. Because that was. I still showed up. I still participated, but I was in there just as lost as I could be. Even though my grandparents were ministers, you know, they taught the word. I knew it all, but I had never applied it to myself. You know, I never really figured out who I was in Christ. I didn't study the Bible. I had read the Bible the time I was 13 years old. I'd read the whole Bible through, knew the, just read it, but I didn't know it. And, you know, through all that, God saved me and took me off the drugs and alcohol. And when I talk about alcohol, I was drinking a bottle a night. It wasn't nothing to go to the liquor store every afternoon and get a bottle and drink it that night. I was drinking it. I enjoyed it and I didn't get off the highway. I was on the highway, I did all of it. That was me. When I go after something, I'm all in. So that was, and I'm not proud of it. I'm just telling my testimony tonight that, you know, God brought me out of all that, that I was so locked up in it. And through that, you know, I was able to, I've been now able to minister to people through that, that, you know, hey, I understand you can be in bondage in that stuff. I'm not saying you got to be in bondage to minister somebody about that, because that's not the case. You can minister to anybody, but he gave me a gift to speak to men and speak to people about that. And we've seen a lot of people get saved in their lives changed just because of a testimony saying, you know, like what you're doing. You're giving your testimony and letting other people hear this, and as it does, it builds their faith of, hey, you know, I can remember when I first gave my testimony to church, I was so nervous. Because my grandparents was there. They didn't know my life. I kept it hidden. Hidden from them. Yeah. And I gave my testimony. Lord, I got up there to preach, and you know, the Holy Spirit, you're supposed to be led by the Holy Spirit. I got up there and I was going to preach, and it kept on telling me, you got to give your testimony, you got to give your testimony. And I'm like, I'm gonna do it. And this man was in there, and he was dealing with drugs, dealing with it, and I got up there and I just gave my testimony, told it all out. That man that night met me at the front. He gave his life to the Lord. He came, we sit down in the kitchen, we talked for a few minutes, and he told me his story about how he had been dealing. Now, today, he's been a pastor for I think last like eight or nine years. That's awesome. Off of a testimony. So that's why I believe so much in what you know you're doing in helping people get their testimonies out because I've seen the effects of what it can do. Yeah. You know, where I was lost in that, you know, getting back into my testimony, you know, when me and my wife got together, we didn't have a lot. It's like in most families, you know, when you first get together, you don't have anything. Well, we were, we didn't have anything. We ate squirrel and rabbit a lot of times. And, you know, I can remember when I first got with her that we didn't have enough money to pit gas in the truck all the time. I would drive the foil around on the farm because it was better on fuel. Yeah. And drove things like that just because the money was so tight. And it didn't matter how much I made, we couldn't get ahead. And I would go weed-eat yards, I'd do anything I could. And that all began to start changing. How did that begin to change? You say, You work hard, no. I started getting into the word and I started studying the word, not just reading the word of God, but applying the word of God. And said, you know, realizing who I was in Christ, that once I got saved, I'm not some far-off distance somebody. I'm a child. And his word says he'll hold no good thing from me.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00So I just started believing that word, believing that he would give me the desires of my heart. And I, you know, I was like, I. And then I got on this other scripture that it said that a good man leaves inheritance for his children, his children's children. I was like, well, shoot, I don't want to be not a good man, because if a good man leaves inheritance, I didn't want to do that. And the way our life was headed at that moment, you know, I wasn't in drugs and alcohol, but we bought things. Much like you talked about a while ago. Before we started this. You know, you said you didn't get into the drugs and alcohol, but you bought let things affect you. Well, we did when we started buying things. It was what the new gadget, the new thing we could get. And, you know, we spent our money on things like that, and we chased everything else. But I got a desire in my heart that I was like, you know, I want to, I want to have more for my family. You know, this is before we had kids. I wanted more. I didn't want to live a basic life and have nothing. Because I was looking at my life, you know, I stayed up playing video games, just doing nothing, really, nothing productive with my life. Wasting time. And I got into reading the word and started studying it and started applying everything it said, which is, you know, God will prosper you, God will bless you, God will open up the windows of heaven and pour out such a blessing you can't even receive it all. I was like, dang, that sounds pretty good. So when I got into the Bible, I didn't decide I was just gonna get grab hold of one scripture and believe in it. I said, you know, I'm gonna grab this whole Bible and I'm gonna believe every single word it says and just stand on that word. And it doesn't matter what, and you're, you know, with for my case, I had a lot of people that looked at me like I was crazy. You know, when you really start applying the Bible to the way it says, you will friend, you will find out how few friends you have. I try to tell people that is the instruction book for life. Yeah, it is the instruction book for life, but you'll find out some people don't really agree with you and they'll think you're a nut. I mean, I've had a lot of people look at me like you're wild. And because I just believe it.
SPEAKER_01Well, and I I've learned the hard way, but I I do believe that that is the instruction book for life.
SPEAKER_00It is, it exactly is. It has anything you're going through. If you're dealing with you need financials, it's got it. That's right. If you need healing, it's got it. If you're dealing with depression, it's got an answer for it. There is no problem you can give me that I can't back it up in this word and show you exactly how to get out of it and show you what to do.
SPEAKER_01I've told that on my podcast, too, there's nothing that's happening in your life right now that you can't find in that Bible. That's right. That Bible.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's exactly right. Everything's in here already. He's already given it to you, and the only thing you gotta do is apply it. It's an applying process, though, in the Bible that you have to apply it. Because if you don't apply it, it's not gonna work because you just read it.
SPEAKER_01You know, that was my problem too, because I mean I grew up in the church. My grandparents grew up in the church in Addison Church. And I mean, I've read the Bible, but I didn't apply it. I didn't stick to it. But then after I had my wreck and laid in that hospital and seen what I'd done to my family by being greedy and selfish and just being the worldly things. Once I really started studying the Bible, then it hit me. Yeah. Like, man, I've been doing it wrong the whole time. Yeah. I've been a lot more I've been a lot happier. No matter the money I've made in my life, I'd been a lot happier if I'd stuck with that book. Yeah. It's hard for humans to turn over that trust and just turn it all over to Him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, that's all about what faith is, though. Faith is all about trusting God. Exactly. Faith is not seeing things, it's just saying, you know what? I've made a decision, I trust God. And as God answers one thing, your faith begins to grow. And you're like, well, he did that, he'll do this, and he'll do this. And then you just believe him for everything, and it becomes a way of life. For me, it's just a way of life. I don't worry about anything anymore. I have zero worries. I never get worked up. I don't get, you can ask her, especially unless I'm still growing in Christ every day.
SPEAKER_03That's right.
SPEAKER_00I mean, you never get out of this word, you never stop learning. I'm still learning. I pick up this word and I learn. But I used to get so angry and so worked up about things. And I found in this word where it tells me I shouldn't worry. I shouldn't be afraid. I shouldn't have any cares. Don't think about tomorrow, for tomorrow will take care of itself. Just really, and so I just take that all that itself and say, look, God, you'll take care of everything. And I, you know, I just believe in him. And I could say, not like, well, I don't have to do nothing. No, I have a job to do. I have faith to believe. I have to put faith in action, put some works behind it, do some stuff. But I just trust him. You know, I don't get in fear about, you know, starting up a business. You know, we we were so blessed that we were able to start a business. You know, during COVID, when everybody else was panicking about money, when everybody else was losing their jobs, when everybody else couldn't do anything, we had online business. We made more money then, you know, at that time than we had ever made in our lives. We made money. And, you know, we just got into the word and we were sitting there saying, God will bless us, God will bless us. And I got on them scriptures of reading how God will bless you. And Deuteronomy 28, I just got in that scripture and started reading Deuteronomy 28. He'll bless the works through your hands. He'll get called out as such a blessing that it'll overtake you. The blessings will overtake you. And I was like, you know, I don't never hear anybody talking like this. I don't hear preachers, you know, talking like this. They talk about how the devil's gonna get you this, that, and the other, and how bad it is, and that's hellfire and brimstone. Yeah, hellfire and brimstone, they just, you're gonna burn up. And I got into this other side of learning there's a blessing that follows in with salvation, that I'm a child of God. I'm not tied to that curse. That's right. I'm tied to the blessings. So I expect a blessing. Look at the lady that came to Jesus when she came expecting to be healed. She said, if I can just touch the Him and I'm gonna be made whole. That's right. She said, I I just expect it. I trust in the guy that's gonna heal me, which is Jesus. I trust in him. I've seen him heal other people, and I've got faith. So I got around other like-minded people that had the same kind of faith and just trusted that God was gonna do it. And so you get into that belief that God will bless you, and you know, people say, Well, I don't like hearing about preachers talk about prosperity, but there's a part that has to do with that when I talk about prosperity.
SPEAKER_01There's a difference in talking about prosperity from the Bible for yourself than prosperity preaching, where the preachers up there just always asking for money. Yeah, well, I don't ask for money. You can go to my own. Oh, I know. I mean, I I've been in your service and I know that, but I mean, you see a lot of these churches what they call the prosperity gospel. Yeah, they're just up there begging for money. Yeah, there's a difference. They leave out of there and get in a$150,000 car and go to their million-dollar mansion.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, I'm not after, you know, that's the difference. You know, never I'm believing for the people I'm believing. When at the time I was believing for myself. Now that I've got it for myself, now I try to show other people like, hey, this works.
SPEAKER_01It works.
SPEAKER_00If you ate at a good restaurant, you would tell other people, man, that's a good place to go eat. So I tell everybody, hey, I found something that works. I'm showing everybody else, this works. If you get with me, it works. I got the like the cheat code. This is it, this is it, it works. So you get into that, and God was able, into the testimony, God was able to get us, you know, through that. We were able to start into building a kennel. Um, we built a kennel, you know, we didn't never even plan on building it. We didn't, God just opened up doors to us where we started out with one or two, and then it was kindly just kept building and building and building, and then it turned into a very great business.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And um been very successful and been blessed in it. And God, I know, because if you'd asked me, you know, 10 or 15 years ago, are you gonna be a dog trainer? I'd be like, no, that's I'm probably not.
SPEAKER_01I don't have the patience for that.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's not me. But God gave me that opportunity and something that I enjoyed. You know, I always, when I was younger, wanted something to do in hunting. You know, I love to hunt.
SPEAKER_01I'm glad he gave you that opportunity. That's what brought us together.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's what brought us together. And she brought a lot of good people, friends to me around that because through hunting, and I'm like, God, you, you know, one year when I was hunting, this is part of testimony, one year when I was hunting, I deer hunted, I deer hunted every day, like religiously. I deer hunted every day. I didn't miss a day besides like Sunday. You could count on your hands how many days I missed in season. And I can remember God said, Do you love hunting or do you love me more? And I was like, oh man. And so I said, God, I love you more than anything. I quit hunting the rest of the season. I didn't even pick up my rifle. I wouldn't go hunting. I quit. I said, God, I'll prove to you that I love you more than hunting. And because I was willing to give that up, he gave me a business in the middle of hunting, in the middle of everything. When you give something up, when you I tell people, when sometimes you give a sacrifice and use something that means something to you and you give it up, God will always come back with a reward. He gave me a business in the middle of the things that I love to do. That I get paid to go enjoy hunting, get enjoy shooting quail, and doing all the things that I enjoy doing. That's been a blessing to me. So that was such a blessing. I enjoy working with dogs. It gave me a blessing to walk into that. And I started getting even more faith and you know, looking into, you know, real estate and getting into that, and then God gave us houses. We started you know redoing houses. Uh people said, you can't do it with that amount of much of money. You know, you're gonna have to have, you know, people when you start talking about houses, oh, you're gonna need a hundred thousand, two hundred thousand. We didn't walk in with that. We walked in with hardly anything, didn't hardly have any money, but we walked into it. We took faith. I remember the first house we went to. I walked up in the house. And God said, buy the house. I said, well, that settles that then. I turned around and I said, we'll bake the house. And through that, it was a blessing after blessing after blessing. And now, you know, getting into the ministry, you know, I've been ordained since 2015 and been doing the ministry and now more full-time, more doing stuff in the ministry. And God's, I use the same faith that started my businesses, the same faith that got me in houses, the same faith that's encouraged me to do all these other things. Now I just channel it to the ministry. I'm like, Lord, you said you give me the desires of my heart. I'm expecting big. I believe for big. I'm not I'm not going to settle here for with nothing. You know, you didn't call me to come here and preach the gospel for it to be just this one little thing. You've called me to do a lot. And so don't let me be the holdup on what you really want me to do. So I started believing bigger and really launched out in my faith even more in the past year or two of stretching out the ministry, doing more. And God rewards where you seek Him. He says He's a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. So if you get into diligently seeking, so I just started seeking to God. I said, Lord, I I want your church to be built. I want you to be. And I don't want one of my heart's desires for our ministry wasn't to get people from other churches. You got these people that swing from this church to this church, from this church. They get tired, mad at the pastor. I'm going to this church. I didn't want that. I wanted the sinners. I wanted the people that was lost. I wanted the people that was like me in drugs and alcohol. I wanted those people. I was like, Lord, send me those. Well, I don't think Jesus went to the synagogue looking for preachers. No. I was no. I wanted, I wanted the people that everybody else looked past. And that's what I tell people. I wanted that for our ministry. That was my big desire. And I'm seeing that. I'm seeing people come in. And we had, I was telling you this the other day, we've had people come in and get saved, and last, I mean, they're just a turn on as a revival's going across the land right now. We spoke at this as what I've been praying for for years up in the pulpit saying, Lord, revival across the land. I don't get up there now on Sunday, Lord, I we pray for revival. I say, Thank you, Lord, that we have the revival because it's already here now. It's coming across. There's a hunger for God in people's hearts. And if you're a minister and you're watching this today, then take this moment and run with all you got. I say I'll tell my wife, I'm pedal to the metal for God right now, and we're either gonna blow the top off of it and blow the engine up, or we're gonna win the race. That's the two things. We've been building this car for long enough. We're gonna race it now. We're gonna give it everything we got to make it to grow the ministry. And God's really been a blessing to that financially. Um healing through my body. You know, I had in the world, I had done things that, you know, hurt my back, messing it all up. I was constantly going to somewhere to get back work, and I received my healing in my back, and I haven't had any back problems in that at all. I was constantly going to the chiropractor and all these other people, you know, work like I work. I work in the different fields of getting hurt. I don't have any issues. God will heal you, God will keep you, God will do everything. He loves you. You've got to know that. You have to understand you're a child of God and that He loves you and He wants the very best for you. He's not, you're not someone left off. He wants the very best for you. And when you get that kind of idea and thinking, you come expecting from God. And anytime you come expecting, you're not gonna walk away empty-handed. Right. I don't come to God expecting something and leave out empty-handed. He always gives me what I'm expecting him to do. So I come in expecting big things. I have big plans. I just expect big things for from God.
SPEAKER_01That's why I like being around you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I like big things. I don't I think God, God's a big God. I mean, he created the whole world. That's right. I mean, he can thank big things. He created our thing. Yeah, that's right. He creates big things. And so if I'm a child, I expect big. I plan for big, you know, and just expect the biggest thing that he's gonna do and give me the rewards for it.
SPEAKER_03So yeah.
SPEAKER_01That's awesome. I mean, I I was the same way. I mean, the the past, well, since my wreck, I've been considering myself a new Christian. Yeah. I mean, I I was baptized at 14 years old. Yeah, me too. And always went to church, you know, we talked about earlier, but then once I got where I could do what I wanted to do, that's what I'd done. And I've always been about race up to that wreck. I mean, then just knowing that he saved my life. After everybody at that hospital was telling me I should have been a dead man. There weren't but one there was only one reason I was still there. Yeah. And that's because he saved my life. Because he knew you would be here. Right. And he knew that you would do He led me to do this. That's right. He told me, he said, you need to spread your testimony and help others, and that's what I'm trying to do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you know, I I get so tickled all the time when I think about you because I knew you before the wreck. Right. I knew you the whole time.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And you came, you know, started getting your dog trained, you started coming around, and I laugh. I get so tickled on the inside because you thought that you were doing all this filming, you were doing all this stuff for Ray. And I get tickled, I said, nah. God had a plan for him. He was getting prepared for what he was going to use him on the next part of his life. And I get so I just get a smile all over my face because I think it did.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I believe that too, but you know, four years ago I told you you were crazy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I know.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it was like that.
SPEAKER_00That's what gets me so tickled about it. I love the smile.
SPEAKER_01I talked about, you know, spreading the word. Yeah. And this is all the week we're all called to do it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But a lot of people, even when I was growing up, I mean, if I met you five years ago, you started talking about Jesus, I'd been like, even though I believed in him, yeah. I just didn't know how to talk about him and tell other people about him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. But that's changing. Yeah. Yeah. Because you get, the more you get into the word, the more bolder you get. God gives you boldness.
SPEAKER_01Well, see, that was it. You got to take that faith and turn it into courage. I had the faith, but I didn't have the courage because I was scared to take that first step.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And it's like you're talking about earlier. If you ask, you're going to get it. But you have to work for it. You just can't sit around and wait for it to fall in your lap. That's right. You've got to work for it.
SPEAKER_00That's right. You've got to step out in faith. Just like Noah, building an ark. He had to step out in faith. That's right. He had to get over the obstacle of thinking, you know, well, it's never rained. Everybody called him crazy until it started. Everybody caught him crazy. And you know, that's what I tell my wife all the time. I said, people are going to look at us like we're nuts and they're going to call us crazy. I said, but look through the Bible. People call David crazy. Yep. Everybody looked at him and said, you're going to go fight that giant. That giant's going to kill you. They called him crazy. But who won?
SPEAKER_01The shepherd boy.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Who won to fight that? That's what I'm saying. That's you're going to have people that's going to look at you a little bit different. But don't, here's the biggest thing. Don't worry about what other people think. That's right. I could care less now what other people think. If you like me, good. If you don't, I don't care. You know, I'm serving God. I'm doing what I've been called to do. And he'll bless me as long as I'm doing, if I mind his business, he says, if you'll build my house, I'll build your house. I'll take care of you. If you'll get busy doing God's work, God will take care of everything you have and bless you so much. I tell people all the time there's a blessing when you get to working for God, you get to busy in his house, you get busy doing things for God, man, it'll just like it's easy. You don't even have to try.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00You don't even have to try to make the money. You don't, you can literally don't even try, and it'll come to you. Yeah, it'll come every time. Every time. It blows my mind. Like, still to this day, it'll blow my mind. I'll be like, huh, it just here it is. It'll show up. Because when you just get busy doing what God tells you to do and just be sensitive to the Holy Spirit, when you're feeling that that urge in there in your stomach, you feel that I say it's in my stomach, you know, that's me. But when you start feeling that urge that God's telling you to do something, don't pass that by. Listen. Listen. Listen. I use this illustration because I train dogs. I don't want to be the puppy dog that he's having to snatch by the least. I want to walk right beside him. I want to listen. He's going to snatch me one time. Yeah, yeah. If you say, I'm like, uh-huh, yeah, I've got you got my attention. You don't have to keep on pulling on me. So be sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Listen to what he's saying. If he's guiding you somewhere, just listen to it. Say, I'll do the first step. And God never gives you the full out-out plan. He sometimes shows you the mountaintop or sometimes he shows you the first step. Have faith to take that first step and see where it goes. What is there to lose? What how much time have you wasted in this world already?
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00How much time has people wasted? You know, going and doing other things. If you'll just take the step, stay out in faith that God's going to do it. I don't care what other people think. I don't care what my family, I don't care what anybody else thinks, I'm taking that step out and I'm going to do it.
SPEAKER_01That's what I'd done on the first, the first little video I done sitting on our back deck back there after I got out of the hospital. Yeah. That was me. I just woke up one morning and God said, You need to put your testimony up here. And I got, you know, so and I was one of them that was like, and I post stuff on Facebook mess, but I didn't. Oh no. It weren't nothing personal. Yeah. Other than just family pictures. But I put dogs. I put airplanes. I put that person right there. He's like, you know what? I don't care what anybody thinks. Yeah. I'm doing to do it and I'm doing it. Yeah. He gave you boldness to be able to do it. And it's led to this. We built this with no debt.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, and here we are.
SPEAKER_00And that's well, when he calls you, when God calls you to do something, he'll equip you to be able to do it.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00So you think about it like David, when God called David to do it at a time, he was just a shepherd boy. But God equipped him to be able to do everything he called him to do, to be the king. He'll give you the equipment, he'll give you the things to be able to do what he's leading you into. Yeah, the courage, the boldness. You know, I look at it like David. He went out there, he had the boldness to go up against a giant. You know, like I don't care. When you don't ever. No, they've been sitting there mocking him for 30 days, like sitting there mocking on and he was just like, no, I'm not dealing with this. I'm gonna go out there. Because why was that? Because David knew who he was. He had a relationship with God. Yeah. He knew who he was. He had that faith. Yeah, he knew he was anointed. He knew he had been anointed by Samuel. He knew who he was. He's like, you know what? I know what I'm decent to do. And he went out there and done it. So that's where I have tried to base my life off of is just have faith. Trust God. It doesn't matter what it looks like at a time. I don't care what it looks like. I just trust God. And through that, we've been blessed. We've been blessed through out of through our ministry. You know, as I've been telling you lately, you know, there's people, uh influence of people coming to church, influence of people being saved. There's a movement going on in the whole in the God that I've been praying for. I'm just celebrating right now. I'm so happy I'm just celebrating that, you know, the things I've been praying for is coming to pass, and I'm being to be a part of it. And that's a wonderful feeling. And so, you know.
SPEAKER_01I know it's awesome. Sunday I saw that lady go up there and I told my wife, I was like, that woman's giving her heart Jesus. Yeah. And the night before that, that young girl did it, and I told her the same thing. We're sitting there watching, and I said, That girl's gonna turn her heart over Jesus. Yeah. Because you can, I could feel it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, you can. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And there's And I weren't even there. I was 50 miles away and I could feel it. Just watching it on the on my phone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And that's what's happening. You know, there's people having a heart transfer over to God, and it's and it's a wonderful thing. I'm so privileged to be a part of it. I'm just like so happy to be a part of what God's doing. You know, seeing all the prophecies that He's given me, you know, He told me back when we didn't have nothing that He was going to give me money. And he told me a lot. And I was like, well, there ain't no way. We ain't got there's there's no way we don't have enough. I don't see how that was. But I've just decided, if God told me in my private time of prayer, that He was gonna do it. I wrote it in my Bible, it's in the front of the Bible. I wrote it down. And he did it. He told me he would give me things and everything God has told me he's done for me. So I have faith to believe God for anything. You know, our daughter in a testimony, she had UTIs after UTIs for two years straight. It hurt her growth. It hurt a lot of things because she wouldn't eat and all these things. They said surgery, I said no. They said this, I said no. Because I trust in God. Not because I'm all holy. You well, you should go get that little girl surgery. No, I when God says no to something, I say no. And I said, no, we're not gonna do it. We're gonna trust to God. And one day, one of my ministry friends, um, Jim Jarmy, came out to hunt. I meet so many good people through hunting. That's what I said. It's a blessing. I get to meet some wonderful people through hunting. And he actually used to attend our church was when my grandparents were pastoring. And then he showed back up, you know, to come hunt with us. And then we kindled up and we had a great connection together. And uh he I asked him, I told him, you know, in my spirit, I felt asking to pray for your daughter. I was like, no, no, I'm not gonna ask him to do that. I got faith to believe for anything. You know how you just sometimes you're like, no, I'm not gonna do that. I got faith to believe for anything. And the Lord said again to me, he was getting ready to leave. Ask him to pray for your daughter. I said, All right. You ain't gotta tell me, but if you give me twice, I give the Lord, if you tell me twice, sometimes I think it's just me, and then I hear it again, Lord, yes, I got you. I ask him, and uh I said, well, you pray for my daughter. She's had your negative track infection after your negative track infection. I said, I'm just believing that God's gonna heal her. You know, I've been praying, we've been believing. We haven't seen the results yet, but we're praying and believing. Well, he spoke. He spoke to it. He spoke to her tubes in her body. He didn't, he just spoke to her, he said, I command this to be healed. He commanded these things, he started listing them out. She didn't have any more urinary tract infections, completely healed from where they said she was gonna have to have surgery. No more of that stuff. That's what that's two years ago, two years ago, that that happened. That just what the doctor said is gonna take surgery. If you can have faith in God to not worry about what it looks like, yeah, at the time she was still having urinary tract infections. In fact, that day she had had a bad one. And she we were having to go back and forth to the doctor. And I told my wife, I said, Well, I got Pastor Jen pray, she's healed. And uh sure enough, she's not had them things, she's not been attacked with them. And even when we go back to the doctor and we think she might have something, something else is not the urinary tract infection where she's been battling and battling and battling them. You know, they all cleared up. So God is not only a God that provides for you, but he's a healer. You know, he'll restore things back and heal in there. That's part of what he paid for at the cross for us is to finish work at the cross. I'm not in there begging for God to do it. He's already finished and gave it to me, and all thing I've got to do is to ask it. It's just come through to the throne boldly. When I'm you realize that, just like you know, your kids, they're not gonna come in there meek and mild, and you know, uh, no, they're gonna come to you and say, Daddy, I want something. And then you're gonna do what you can to help make it happen for them. That's how I see God. I see God as a good God. It's gonna, I've been serving him. He's gonna do what. I mean, it's not like I've been a bad, a bad child, I've been a good one now.
SPEAKER_01Asking you, shall I receive?
SPEAKER_00Asking you, shall I receive. That's right. And and I receive it. So that's how I live.
SPEAKER_01I mean, I I I definitely believe in that power of prayer. You know where I was. Yeah, I do. I remember we were praying for you constantly. And when you come down here and pray no for me. Yeah, I was glad to see you. I'll get you a butt right now thinking about it.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, just quit now. I mean, I love it. And I love y'all. Yeah. Love it too. Appreciate everything y'all done for us and prayed for it and everything else. Well, you've been a blessing. Well, I try to be. I am now. I weren't three years ago. I was a selfish, no good for nothing.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, you weren't where you weren't where you needed to be at yet, but God had a way of getting you there. I've got there. Yeah, he got you there. I was getting there. Yeah, he's getting you there.
SPEAKER_01I had to go, I had to go through that stage. Yeah. Yeah. Sorry. I had somebody telling me not to do it, but I just I weren't going to listen to them even. Yeah. I don't have that. Well, I mean, you got anything else you want to daddy that? I got a couple questions I could ask. Uh let me see here. I got some written down. Where do you see your church in the next five to ten years? I mean, we talked about the revival going on down here, and you can see it all over the world.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. Um, I see multiple churches. I don't see just one. I don't see one building. Um God spoke to us at the beginning of the year. Uh, you know, we do 21 days of fasting, praying and fasting. At the beginning of the year, and you know, the Lord's been laying it on my heart that, you know, you're not called to just these limited doors. And we have a couple other churches already. There's managed churches, we have them underneath our belt. There, they've got two right now, and they're fixing to build yet a third one going. But I was content with our one little building. I was content with, you know, we got us a little good little crowd. I was happy with that. You know, could it grow? Yeah, that would be good. But, you know, it was just content. And what God set a fire on the inside of me that said, you know, hey, buddy, I've called you to do more than this. That's right. And I was like, all right. You got me to you want me to do more. All right. Well, I can do that. And so I just started believing big. So he told me, you know, we're not gonna be limited to these four walls. We're gonna go outside of these walls and create other churches. And, you know, you start talking about that to around people and they look, well, how are you gonna financially do that out of a small church? Man, it ain't me in the first place. It's God doing it. I did I don't worry about the finances. It always goes right back to the money, don't it? Yeah, that's that's what they do. In church. If you talk about, if you talk about getting something to church, that's gonna be some money. Who cares? God is got if look, if the world can have these things, if you go to Las Vegas, they can raise up big giant casinos, they can do all these things in the world. You you're here in Wilmington, you can see all these big constructions, they can raise up houses. If the world can do that, what can the kingdom of God do? Thank you. What can the kingdom of God do? We can do so much more. We're not serving the world, we're serving the Lord. And when you get to understanding I'm serving Jehovah Jirah, I'm serving the God that has more than enough. I'm not serving a God that's barely gets by. Yeah, he's got it. He's walking around on streets of gold. I'm thinking, you know, if I'm serving a God like that, I just got faith to believe it. That he would give it to us. So, you know, I see us walking into, you know, buildings that either God opens a door for us to go there and do it for next to nothing. That's what God showed me. To be honest with you, God showed me he says you're gonna walk into doors, and it's not gonna cost you next to nothing. And so I see us expensive. Expanding into other cities, not just into country, but coming to cities. There's because there's several ministers there, and it's going to be available to we can go minister at different places. It might be different times, but I see that happening. You know, God gave us a prophecy at the beginning of the year. We're going to double, and we have. I mean, I've already seen that come in the past. Um very short time. Because God moves fast. I mean, he does. You look at throughout Jesus' ministry. When people came to get healed, he didn't say, uh, come back next Tuesday. We'll see you next Tuesday about getting healed. Today's uh Thursday. We can't do that. No, when they came, they got it.
SPEAKER_01Right then.
SPEAKER_00Everything was right then. So God moves fast. No, God was doing it just like that. So that's the kind of thing I see God doing things. When he's doing it like that, I just get in the flow and roll with the flow of what he's doing. So it could be within the next year that we're walking into the new Philistine. We could be soon, and we're not going to shut down anything we're doing. We're just going to expand. I see us expanding a lot, you know, going, doing more of the online presency and reaching more people. That's what I see in the next five to ten years. Who knows what else we'll do? I mean, I my brain can't think as big as God can. His thoughts are better than our thoughts.
SPEAKER_01I appreciate the online stuff because, like, I mean, right now, it's still kind of hard for me to go stay all day somewhere and spend a lot of time there. But like I said, I appreciate the online stuff, but it's still not like being in church physically. Yeah. I mean, I listen to I even me. I know there's some people that just you they can't go.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And online's don't they're only option. Yeah. But if you can go, I feel like you really need to be in that congregation.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, absolutely. That's like me. I listen to preaching all the time. You know, I'm constantly filling myself up with the word of God, preaching somebody. But there's a difference when you get an opportunity to go sit there. That's right. So, you know, we'll drive four hours, four and a half hours to go listen to somebody preach that I enjoy. Yeah. Because it'll fill my soul up. And man, when you get in that presence, I can listen to it all day long on that phone, but when you get in there. Light that fire up. Buddy, man, when you get in there and you're just sitting in that room with anointing, you get it sitting in there. It'll hit you like a frying pan right across the face, like boom. It'll knock you back. And that's Let them tacos be just that's what'll do. So you get into that. You know, so people miss that because I'll say this, because people took COVID and they used that to get people out of church, and now they just think, well, I can just sit at home and I don't have to do anything. Well, you're missing out. You're really missing out. Because there's a blessing that comes with coming to the house of the Lord. There's a blessing that comes along with that. I can prove it to you throughout the word. There's a blessing that comes with coming to the house of the Lord. It's not just gathering together, there's a blessing that's tied on to coming in. I did a whole sermon on that just a couple weeks ago. There's a blessing that comes in just coming in and serving the Lord, just coming showing up to church. You'll see how God will bless you in everything you do, things that you've been believing for, when you start coming in, it'll start happening. Because you're seeking Him first.
SPEAKER_01Well, I mean, it's not only that, too, but you got to think. If your desire is to find the Lord and accept Him, you want to be around like-minded people. I imagine alcoholics go to bars, drug addicts go to the drug house.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, you know, they they hang around people they want to be like. So when you decide that you're through with it, you're gonna hang around somebody you want to be like.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you know, you get around people, and the people you're around, you know, they're gonna start affecting you. Show me your three friends and I'll show you what you're gonna be like. That's right. That's right. I mean, it's seriously. If you show me your three friends and what they look like, I'm gonna I'll I'll show it to you. So, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Who you're gonna be. Let's see, you answered two questions for one, that was good. So your church has no boundaries, and I appreciate that. No, uh limitless. Let me ask you one more, and then we'll we'll move on and wrap this up because I've really enjoyed it. I can sit there and talk all night with you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Um, how do you prepare for sermons? I mean, that's something that I've been, you know, because I I try to share a word every other day or so on these podcast little podcasts I do. Yeah, but I want to start stretching them out, making them a little bit longer. I mean, how do you prepare for that? I mean, you just so whatever the Lord lays on your heart, or do you just pick something you're gonna study it?
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I mean, you'll be living through some things, and then the Lord will lay it on your heart what you need to minister on sometimes. You know, sometimes I've been all the way up to Saturday night before Sunday morning before I didn't even know what I was gonna preach. And now I stay up half night getting it, like downloading it. It's like coming into me as fast as I can. I I'm trying to write it down and trying to keep up with what God's telling me. But there's so much studying out there that you can do now that when I first started in the ministry wasn't available. Um, when I first started in the ministry, you know, we had these little things that you could type on and you could search the Bible with a little handheld unit. Well, now you have cell phones. Well, people, I don't like cell phones, but you can search up so much stuff and learn stuff, and then here's the thing. Well, what if I use ChatGBT a lot? I help it helps me get things together. Um, people might down it, but if you're using it for the right things, it's a very beneficial. Here's the thing. You say, well, I don't believe everything ChatGBT says. You got a Bible, dummy. You got a Bible. I really want to look at it and say, You got a Bible, dummy. Pick up the Bible. If you don't believe what it's saying, check it.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00Check it, and then read the whole chapter with it. So, what I do a lot of times is I'll get me a list of scriptures concerning um, if we're wanting to talk about um healing. Start talking. Give me a list of scriptures. You know, go into there and ask, say, give me a list of scriptures on this. What does the Bible say about healing? Give me a list of scriptures.
SPEAKER_01Don't hold back, give me them all. I'd probably say 95% of the stuff that I've talked about so far since I've started doing this podcast is stuff I found in that Bible that has to do with my own personal testimony. Yeah. I mean everything.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Well, the whole Bible, and then so if you start studying, so that just opens the door. So I'm not saying chat GBT is gonna do all the work for you, but it opens the door. So the first thing you gotta do is, like me, I know there's a lot what the Bible says a lot. Sometimes I'm not always know exactly where it's located at. So I use that to help me find something, like it comes to my mind a scripture, I'll use that to help me locate where it's at. Um, and then once I locate it, I read the scripture. I read the whole entire text before it, after it, to figure out what context it's talking about. Because a lot of people take things out of context. So you have to look at it and study it and try to figure out what it's saying. You've got to read the verses before it and after. Yeah, before and after. It's a good thing to do and understand the scripture. Um, but that's how I study. Uh, you can ask, you know, talk to as talking to my wife, and and that's I spend a lot of time studying. I read the Bible, I'll go out to the building, I'll sit in a room, I'll read the Bible for hours of trying to study back and forth, picking up, and I'll have a notepad here, Bible here, Bible here. And I'm I'm taking things from different places and put it together to get a sermon ready for the people, and then it don't do no good. Sometimes on Sunday morning, you get up there and God calls an audible, like a football audible, like changing the whole lineup, and you're like, Well, I had all this wonderful scripture planned out, and then God said we're going a different path. And so, but it was good because you know, I've noticed when you follow the Holy Spirit, there's somebody there that needed to hear it. And just like Sunday morning, you know, I got up there and it was a completely different message than what I had. I had studied for this other message, I was well prepared for it. I had I had already gave the media team the notes, was ready to go. I was like, here's my notes, here's all my scripture. And then God's like, no, that's not what I'm gonna talk about. And, you know, the lady got saved Sunday morning. She came up, gave her life to the Lord, said, hey, she was bawling in serious, like, you know, you talking about me. And I was like, you know, well, I didn't know it. I was just doing what the Lord said. And a lot of times, if you watch, you know, you watch Sunday morning, I had to keep on calling back because I knew what I knew the scripture where it was at, but I couldn't quote it for a word, so I had to get them on the screen. And uh, you know, but just be led by the Holy Spirit, especially in your studying. You know, start saying, Lord, let your Holy Spirit use me, let it flow through me. Show me what you want with me. Yeah, show me. I I'm willing. I'm the willing vessel. Be that vessel that's willing to be used. That's all you gotta lose say, I'm willing. If there was some plan that you had in America that you had planned, God, use me. You know, if he has a plan, you know, I believe there were many ministers that came before me, that's died out, that they didn't get to fulfill all that they had planned on doing. Right. And they had prayed them prayers for it to happen. So I'm like, God, if you have all that planned, then use me. I'll be the one to do it. I'll be it. I'm I'm not I'm willing to do it. Whatever it is, whatever the length is, whatever it takes, I'm willing to do it. I'll go do it. And when you get led by the Holy Spirit, he'll open up and show you things in the spirit that you can't understand. But it it really does.
SPEAKER_01I can't think of anything I'd rather be doing right now than what we're doing. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. After waking up in the hospital and realizing what I'd put my family through and he saved me and the way I acted, I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing. Yeah, and you're doing it. Yeah, because he asked me to do it. Yeah. Doing a fine job at it, too. Well, I appreciate that. Well, we'll wrap this one up. Unless you got something else. Nah, not yet.
SPEAKER_00You might read a scripture and it fires me up again.
SPEAKER_01Well, it might, because I got two that I want to read actually. All right. I hope they ain't the closing ones because I might fire up after you read. I like I like doing this at the well, like I said, until the batteries die, we can alright, it don't matter to me. Yeah. First one, first reason I'm gonna read is 1 Timothy chapter 4. Gotcha. Verses 1 through 5. Let me get my papers on so I can see. Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies and hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hard iron, forbidden to marry and commanding to abstain from foods which God created to be received with thanksgiving by those who believe and know the truth. For every creature of God is good, and nothing is to be refused if it is received with thanksgiving, for it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. And I can I read when I read that, I think about watching the news now and what's going on, especially in our country, and even across the world, how people are acting. That's what I'm saying. It's all right here in this book. It's playing out to a T. And people don't realize it. And that's why I tell everybody on my podcast all the time to get this book and read it. Don't be a closet, a closet Christian. Get in this book, tell everybody you if if you introduce yourself to somebody, you ought to ask them if they know Jesus. That's the way I feel right now in my life. Because the way this world's going, and I know we're we're having a good revival here in the United States right now. A lot of young people are coming to the church and coming to Jesus. But we still have a lot that are just out there and don't care. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Well, the good news is as the world gets darker, the church is going to get brighter and brighter. That's right. Because you cannot put out light. It doesn't matter how much darkness you bring.
SPEAKER_01That's right.
SPEAKER_00You can bring all the darkness you want to, but you can never cut out a light. If it's on, like these lights on in here, you can bear it's dark outside. But that darkness cannot outpower these lights. And we are the light of the world. And you will never put us out. The Christian will never be put out. We're just like food. As long as there's people always gonna need food, they're always gonna need the church.
SPEAKER_01They're always gonna have to have it. What's the first thing God does?
SPEAKER_00He said, Let there be light.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. And we're the light of the world. Before he made the sun and the moon, he said, let there be light. And we're the light of the world.
SPEAKER_00And we're gonna shine brighter and brighter.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what we're gonna do. The second one I'm gonna read is 2 Timothy chapter 4, verses 1 through 5. I charge you therefore before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead, at his appearing in his kingdom. Preach the word, be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and teaching. For a time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up themselves teachers, and they will turn their ears away from the truth and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, and fulfill your ministry. Absolutely. Man. Yeah. That gives me chill buttons. I mean, think about what's going on today. Yeah. Everybody wants to hear what they want to hear. They don't want to hear the truth. Yeah. They want to make up something to make their selves feel happy. Yeah. And we can't do that. We got to turn away from that.
SPEAKER_00But there, but the Bible, when you get into it, it's full of good things. It is. Especially for a believer. Especially for somebody that's trusted in God. There is such good things for them. You know, there it's full of good things. You know, if you honor and obey the Lord your God, he'll bless you. You know, I'm not out in sin. I'm not in that, but I'm in a blessing. You know, Numbers 6, the Lord will bless you and keep you. He will make your His face shine upon you and be gracious to you and lift you up in your countenance and give you peace.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00I mean, that's plain. Several people say, well, how are you gonna say God's gonna bless you? Have you not read your Bible in it? Because it talks about blessed is in Jeremiah 17 to 7. Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and his hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters. That means even when the darkest times come in this earth, think about it like this. Even when everything else is going on, you're gonna be like a tree planted by the water. Everything else might be drying up, but you'll never dry up. You'll have long roots that sink down into the water, and you'll be blessed. And there is good fruit. That's what I'm dealing with, good fruit.
SPEAKER_01So, you know that goes back to what we were talking about a while ago about the preachers that just preach hell-frying brimstone. And a lot of that, I know my generation growing up watching television, evangelists, and stuff, that's all they preached. That's all you think about when you thought about church and the Bible was hell-fire and brimstone. But if you get in this book and read it and study it, you'll see that there's a lot more good than there is bad. And all the bad come from the people not listening to God to start with.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I'm and that's what I try to say. When some I go in there and hear somebody else preaching, and they sit there and well, you're going to hell, and you didn't. I can't stand up, not me, buddy. I'm not going. Not me. I made a decision, buddy. Shut up. You ain't talking to me. I can't stand that because you're beating somebody down. Let me tell you something. If you go out and beat sheep with a rod every day, it ain't gonna take many days for them sheep to come. They see you coming, buddy, they're gonna be hauling butt across that field to get away from you because they don't want nothing to do. That's what's happened in churches. You've had ministers come up and they have beat the tar out of the sheep, and now the sheep don't want to come, and I'm not preaching to feel good gospel. I'm just preaching what the Bible says. It talks about being blessed. And why would it? I'm not, if you scare somebody into salvation, it's not gonna stick. Right. You're called to be a good shepherd.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, a good shepherd. Not to beat the mess out of people and beat them up.
SPEAKER_00Well, they take that rod that they have in the shepherd's rod and just beat them, and that's not the way it is.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's not supposed to be that way.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and Psalms 111 verses through three. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, but delights in the law of the Lord. He shall be like a tree planted by the waters. Again, it's showing you two times, two different places in Jeremiah and in Psalms, that you'll be blessed. And you'll be like a tree. Doesn't matter, it doesn't say, well, there's gonna be dark times and there. No, you I'm I'm a tree. I'm planted in water. I'm gonna get water from straight from the river. He's the source, he is the source of my stuff. He is the river flowing into me, filling my bellies full of living water. I'm not gonna dry up. I'm not gonna live in that kind of stuff.
SPEAKER_01You've got to be that mustard seed. Yeah, absolutely. You gotta take that tiny seed and grow it into a tree. So it's faith.
SPEAKER_00And then Ephesians 1:3. Blessed be the God of our Father, of Lord Jesus Christ, who has, this word passed in, has blessed us with every spiritual blessing and heavenly places in Christ Jesus. When you get to understanding that he already has done it. Everything you need, he already has done it. It's already there, it's waiting on you. You're not waiting on God. People say, I'm waiting on God. I'm waiting on God. God's already done it. The finished work at the cross. Jesus is not coming back to finish up some things he's not done. He's coming back to take us home. That's right. He's not coming back to work on some things for a few weeks before he comes and gets.
SPEAKER_01He's coming to suck us up. I read something on that today talking about Jesus, the finished work at the cross, and he was. And therefore, we no longer have to ask for forgiveness. Because Jesus handled that on the cross.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, we we asked and praying to forgive us of our sins. Yeah. Because we're gonna sin all the time anyway. We're all sinners. We were born sinners. But you do not have to re ask all the time because Jesus took care of that.
SPEAKER_00He sinned and he could talk about he covers in our present sins, our past sins, and sins and sins to come. Yeah, he's covered all that. And so, you know, but in my looking at it, you know, now that I'm saved, I'm a new creation. Old things has passed away. I used to be a sinner, but now I'm I'm not a sinner today. I I went and ate tacos with you. Yeah, and when I leave here, I'm going to the house. I don't plan on stopping and getting a six-pack and being drunk. I plan on going to bed tonight and I'm gonna get up tomorrow and train dogs. I have no intentions on sending the bar. I don't have no intentions on getting in adultery. I have no intentions on you know busting. I don't have no intentions on doing anything, any kind of sinful nature.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00I have none.
SPEAKER_01I don't, it was not hard to go eat tacos and not drink margaritas for it. I mean, you don't have you don't have to drink margaritas because you eat tacos. Yeah. You can have an Arnold Palmer like me or water like you didn't. You know, going back to I think the one you just said about in Ephesians, though, talking about, you know, he has blessed us when I was laid in that hospital for four months. When you're doing that, you have a lot of time reflecting on life. And I look back at all the blessings he has actually given me, and I took it for granted. You are. I was just taking it all for granted.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, my wife, she stuck with me for 33 years, no matter what I'd done.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, my kids, my jobs, I've always had good jobs. Yeah. I mean, he's always blessed me, but I did not honor him and give him that honor and thank and be thankful enough for him and until I saw that light that day and they said, No, we're not. Through with you.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I woke up in that hospital.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And now I knew. The Bible, but also the Bible tells us he'll redeemed the time for us. So even though you lost that time, you think you lost it, he's giving it all back to you. He's giving it all back to you. So you don't have to worry about that. He's giving all the time back to you to be able to do stuff. And even though you see, you know, it took some time, but he's using your ministry. He's using what God's doing to turn things around. You know, you were in the hospital and that might have been your wake up. I don't believe God lets anything bad thing happen to you. I mean, I'm not saying that. It just, you know, but it during that sea, that time that you were in, it really got you to wake up. It really got you to say, you know, I want to do more for God. And, you know, the best part about that is you answered the call. When he called you.
SPEAKER_01Before that, Rick, and you can ask her. I mean, every day I had off, I was always looking for something else to do. Yeah, that's true. I gotta get away from him. Yeah. I mean, I've always wanted to do something else, or you know, go hang out with my buddies or go hunting or do something like that. And and because of that, and what he's done, I'm able to stay here every day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01I'm hungry every day.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you're happy doing it. Yeah, I'm happy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Gotta make you happy.
SPEAKER_01Happier than I've ever been.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, peace.
SPEAKER_01Because when you get in this word, you know. I don't worry about anything. I'm not worried about paying the bills. I'm not worried about anything. I turned it in the hospital, I turned it, I give it all to him. That's a good point. Oh.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And I mean it it it I don't know, man. I I wish people could get that feeling that I got it. I remember when I first gave my life to Jesus, how that felt. And then getting baptized. Yeah. But when when I when I give it all to him in that hospital, it was totally different. Man, it's just like I was like, man, I can breathe. Yeah, I know. I had that moment on that hotel floor. I know. No matter what surgeries I was going in, and they were sitting there, well, you know, there's a chance you might not wake up. I'm like, it's in his hands, not yours. I'm coming out of this. If it's his will, I'm coming out of this.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And the bet, you know, this is a scripture you can stand on. God said, But long life I'll satisfy you with. Yeah. That's a promise guaranteed. If you're in covenant with God, which I know you are because you've asked him to come in your life, then why not stand on that covenant word? He said, I'll give you long life, I'll satisfy you. So I stand on that. People, you know, the people, ministers get up in church, you could die any day, you could die on the way home. Not me, sucker. I'm not dying because, you know, God says he'll give me long life. I don't, I choose, you will have what you say. The Bible tells me three or four different places, you have exactly what you say. Yeah. Life and death. Speak into existence. Is in the power of the tongue. You will have the fruits that you speak out of your mouth.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00So you get somebody up there, you can die any day, and then you'll have 45 people. That's right, Pastor. Not me, buddy. I'm not dying. I'm gonna have long life. Because I have people look at me kind of strange, but that's what the Bible tells me to do. So I believe the whole Bible. If the Bible tells me life and death is in the power of tongue, I'm not talking about dying. You know, I work on houses and we work on some sketchy stuff, some sketchy roofs and some sketchy places. We're around guns all the time. Yeah, sketchy things. You know, and and I have some workers. You could fall off the roof. I look at them and say, I'm not coming off this roof until I walk down that ladder. You can fall off if you want to, but I'm not. I will not fall off this roof. So you have that authority. You get realizing that Christ not only just a good friend that hangs out, he lives in you.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00And if he lives in you, you have the authority to speak in Christ. So what you're gonna have, you're gonna have exactly what you say. If you say, I'm not gonna have anything, well then don't be surprised when you don't have anything. But if you get into this thing that says, you know, I'm gonna have what the Bible says, every bit of it, I'm gonna claim it, and I'm gonna live and walk in it. Doesn't matter what other people think. Um, one of the scriptures that really laid heart to me was Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Galatians 3, 13 and 14. Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law that the blessings of Abraham might come upon the Gentiles in Jesus Christ. So I started studying Abraham. What all did Abraham have? Abraham, that suckle. He was rich, he was blessed, he was lived a good life. I mean, the blessings of God came on him. God gave Abraham one idea that set him far above everybody else. All the Philistines were jealous of him and wanted to be like him because he was the first one to ever dig a well. And he didn't stop. He dug one well, they took it, he dug another well, they took it, he dug another well, and God blessed it. And so you get into that Abraham kind of faith that you know, God said he was gonna give his son up. He didn't question it. He said, Look, if if I give my only son up, God will give me another one. That's right. He just had that faith. So when you get into that, that's what pleases God when you have that kind of faith. I just trust you.
SPEAKER_01I mean, like Job. I mean, look, Job had everything. Yeah. God took it away from him, and Job never lost his faith. No, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, he had the things took away from him. The devil came and tormented him, bit bulls on him, did all these things. But and people like to talk about, well, you know, preachers don't like to talk about Job and how he had everything. But look at the end. Yeah, look at the end. Look at the end. If you go through something, guess what? God's gonna give it all back to you. So I just get a smile on my face. If something gets gone, I just say, Well, you're fixing the paid double sucker.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00You know, you you come against the wrong one. You don't know who I am, you don't know who my daddy is, you don't know who my father is, who has paid for this for me. So I'm gonna receive the blessings of God, and there's nothing the devil can do about it. And I don't serve a big bad devil, I serve a big God.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00That's who I serve, and I serve a God that defeated the devil. I mean, he crushed his head, went down to hell, took the keys, and then he brought the keys back up and said, I behold, I hold the keys. And then he says, Now I give the keys to you. If you if you own something, you know, he owns, so God's everybody says God owns everything and has the world. No, he gave it to us to rule. That's right. He says, Whatever you bind on this earth, I'll bind it from heaven. Whatever you loose, he's speaking to you. You gotta do some work. You loose it, I'll loose it from heaven. Whatever you sign to it, I'm backing you. As long as it's in the word of God, the only thing you gotta do is just get in that word and start committing that. So that and he'll bless you in that. You know, in Deuteronomy 30, verses 16, I have commanded you to this day to love the Lord your God and walk in his ways and keep his commands and his statutes and his judgments, that you may live and multiply. God will call you into multiplication, and then the Lord God will bless you in the land which you go and possess. I mean, that's pretty good. God will bless you. That's it. Over and over again, people say, Well, how can you always talk about a blessing? God will bless you.
SPEAKER_01That's right. If you give it to you, well, Jesus tells us in Matthew 7, starting with verse 7, ask and it will be given to you. Seek and you will find, knock, and it will be opened for you to you. For everyone who asks, receive, and who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. Or what man is there among you who and his son asks for bread, will give him a stone. Yeah. Just like you're going to be a while ago. If one of my kids come and ask me something, I'm gonna do what I can to give it to him.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. And you gotta understand God's same principles for us. That's right. He's gonna give us good things. God's not a big mad God that's gonna smite you down and do ugly things. That's the devil. It says the devil comes to do what? Steal, kill, and destroy. But he says, I can't. Jesus said, I come. That you may have life and have an abundant life. Not just barely get by street, but have abundant life in it. So he gives this to you. And you know, he supplies everything that you need and he causes you to increase and to multiply. If you're sitting still as a Christian, oh, I'm fixing to go deep. Bring it in, bring it. If you're sitting still, not doing nothing as a Christian, you're not producing much fruit. That's right. What did Jesus say he would do to those, to the vines that's not producing fruit? He cuts them down. Cut them out. And then burn them in the fire. There's a job for you. You know, it's not just come to church. Just like cursing the fig tree. Yeah, it's not just coming to church. It's not just doing, oh, I'm a part. No, he's called you to bear some fruit.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00He's called you to get out and do something. What's the one thing Jesus asked us to do? He asks us to go and make other disciples. He asked us to get out and do the commission. He asked us the one thing he can't do now, that he left this world so we could be his feet and his hands and his mouth and go and do that.
SPEAKER_01The last two testimonies I give, and I've said that because I've seen it my whole life going to church. We go to church on Sundays, and Monday morning you start right back in your old ways. And I I don't know personally that anybody I know. Well, I I can say Marie's mother, she was real good about it. But I didn't. When I left on when I went to work Monday morning, I didn't talk to nobody about Jesus. And that's our job. And I've said it in my past two testimonies I've given. I've told these people, I said, it's just not the preacher's job to get up here on Sunday mornings and spread the word of Jesus. It's every one of our jobs. Absolutely. When you leave I this church on a Sunday afternoon, you need to be taking what that preacher just told you and telling everybody else.
SPEAKER_00The Bible tells us that hearing the word equips us, it gives us the equipment to go and be the witnesses that God's called us to be. So going to church is not so I can have a social status that I showed up to church and I came and I read the Bible. No, if you just read it and you never do anything with it, pretty much useless. I mean, you never did anything with it.
SPEAKER_01I've been guilty of it. I'll be the first one who tell you. And I ain't trying to preach Hell Fry and Bramston, but there's a lot of people that go to church every Sunday. They'll never see the gates of heaven. Yeah, there's some lot of people.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, that's it.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's truth too.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, there's a lot of people that don't know what God can do, and they just they live a life and keep on doing it, and they think everything's okay and it's not. But one second, God can turn that around if they'll let him. You've got to be sensitive to hear from him.
SPEAKER_01You gotta hoop them up, ask for discernment, yeah.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, and he will live it. Yeah, he will, he'll do it. I mean, it don't take but a second to make that decision. Don't ever think that you're too bad, you're too far gone, that God can't use you. God will use you. I mean, look at Paul. Yeah, Paul was persecuting Christians. Yep. I mean, if you think you're bad, have you gone out and killed any of them lately? And that's what Paul was doing on the regular. Yeah, I mean, he made a regular business of going out and killing Christians. He was hunting them down. Yeah, he was hunting them down, killing them.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00Holding the coats, letting them kill them. I mean, he was part of that. So don't tell me, and then he wrote a good portion of the New Testament. Yeah, he wrote more books than anybody.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's what I'm saying. His books were out and written before he uh Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John were.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, I was saying he wrote a bunch, and God used it mightily. That's right. And then they say, well, Paul, even Paul, you know, people love to use Paul as like he had a thorn in the flesh. Well, do you know what Paul's thorn in the flesh was to really the thorn in the flesh he had? Was people persecuting him? Yeah. Do you think it wanted you think it was a thorn in the flesh to be constantly stoned and constantly dealing with people that didn't believe anything? You know, it doesn't talk about him having sickness, it talks about how much, if you read that scripture, you read the scriptures prior to it, read them. The one thing he dealt with a lot was people coming against him.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_00But he kept on doing what God had called him. And then they said, Well, Paul was in prison. Paul was in prison not very long. No, he was in prison, he praised God, he got out. Then he was in, they said, Well, then he got shipwrecked. Well, look, it won't but a few hours once he got shipwrecked, he was sitting there with the lead tribe leader, yeah, praying for his dad, and then he got his own place there, and then they gave him everything he needed to get out of there. I mean, you see what I'm saying? God's rewarded. I mean, God just, I'm showing you in Paul's life. Look, got out of prison, went and got on a boat, got shipwrecked. He's like, oh, well, then he led a whole entire island, island of Malta, to the Lord. The island's still mostly Christian to this day. Led them all to the Lord. Then they sent him on his way. He went on to Rome. He was going to preach, and they gave him his own house that he could receive guests. Does that sound like prison? They're not gonna let you just stand in the house. They didn't go in and out as he wanted to, and people could come and see. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. God will bless you where you're at if you'll make a decision to serve him. It's not a bad thing when you come in to serve God. It's a blessing, it's a good thing. God comes around you. I'm living proof of it. I could not get here, Ray, on my own. To where I have accomplished in my life and what has happened, I just see the blessings of the Lord all through it all. Like you were saying earlier, you didn't realize all the blessings that was coming along was coming from the Lord. Every good thing comes from God. You have to understand that every good thing comes from God. So when you get that understanding, every good thing comes from God, and the devil's already been defeated, and I'm not gonna be worried about what the devil's doing. I'm more worried about what God's gonna do next. Like, yeah, God's gonna do some things. We've had a whole several years of the nonsense, the LGBT, the things that's come down, they're killing babies left and right. They've shut down so many abortion clinics just this year. Yeah, I think 600 and something abortion clinics, I think that was just in California. And then now you you can't go to any hospital and do trans trans surgery now. They've shut that down. That's right. Um you know, you see the shift in America that's happening. And if you can't see that, you're blind and you need your blinders removed because there it's a shift happening. Not only is God got to the people that have, you know, was doing all these things, he's took them out, he's replaced it, and now we've got leadership that's leading us down a better path. And things is turning up and it's going good. And you see these giant baptisms at Pittsburgh this past week. They had, I don't know, like 3,000 people there. Then they had one down in Miami. Instead of them out drinking and partying, they had them on the beach, and they were baptizing them on the beach, and then you've seen it was maybe a two months ago at the beginning of the year in California, they had 3,000, the largest baptism there ever. You know, people has counted that California is just going to hell. But there's a revival going on there that people don't know nothing about because Fox News and everybody else is just telling you bad.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00But if you'll start studying like I do, I don't focus on the bad, I focus on the good, and I start believing God for more of that and getting faith about it, and I don't look at all the negative. I say, well, God's a good God. And if he did, look, I look at it like this in the book of Exodus, you look at God's people were locked up in bondage, and they had stood in there for 400 years, and in one night, he brought them out. They were out from under a leadership that they had been bonded, they were out from in there, and not only were they out, he brought them out with silver and gold. He could they got to go plunder all the Egyptians' houses, take all their stuff, and it said, not one feeble was amongst them. Not meaning, not one sick person. Right. So what I'm saying is, if God can do that just like that, he can do the same thing for America just like that. He will. He's doing it. I mean, I'm seeing it, I'm bear witness, and I'm seeing it going across right now. And so I see as now, right now, is one of the greatest awakenings that America has ever got to see in a long time, since Azuzu Street, since the 1950s and the 60s, and Billy Graham. I mean, you're seeing one of the greatest movements. You're getting to be a part of the greatest movement that we have been a part of in American history. That's right. You look at Canada, they're going down. They've they've lost their rights to pray, they're losing their rights to things because there's not been anybody to stand up. But I thank God there's some men and women here that will stand up. We just seen it on the news the other day. Uh, the man preaching, what was it in Alabama? Don't hold me to it. Alabama, he was preaching, and the Supreme Court just voted on that you cannot tell somebody where they can and cannot preach the gospel at. That's our Supreme Court. If you don't see that we've got a nation that's turning toward God more now than ever before, it's not turning away, it's turning towards. And so I'm thankful for the shift. So I just get in and say, yes, yes, yes. We can preach where we want to, we can have revivals where we want to. They're dropping code and ordinances where ministers couldn't just used to go out and have events. That's be doors are being open for ministers. So if you're a minister and the only thing you talk about is how bad it is, look at what is actually happening, how God is opening up a door for you to be a minister and get out there and get to work and do what God has called you to do. Don't grow comfortable in the house of the Lord where you can't be used. Say, God, I want more. I know God poured out more throughout the Bible, and I want more, and I'm gonna go do everything I can to have make it happen. Amen. So that's you've got to have that fire on the inside of you. If you've lost your fire that's on the inside of you, just say, Lord, I thank you for filling me with a fresh fire. Lord, you said it would never run out and it would never, you would pour out living water inside of me. So get fired up on it. Get ready to do something for God.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00And and watch it just happen. You won't even have it says Ephesians 3, it says, uh you accomplish not through our power, not through our might, but by the spirit that lives in you. So when you get to doing this stuff, it's not gonna be by minding your mind. It's not by our power, it's through the spirit that lives in us. So just let it rip. Get out there and just let it happen. That's all you gotta do. Amen, brother. If you're worried about what's gonna happen, I'm not worried about what's gonna happen. If I'm preaching the gospel, I know it's just gonna go out and it's gonna bring back plenty. It's like we're doing this tonight. It's gonna go out and it's gonna bring back a big old harvest, and we're gonna be able to clean fish for a long time. That's what's gonna happen. Amen, brother. Yeah, that's what's happening. Every time we go out fishing, we're gonna catch fish.
SPEAKER_01And I I started this as just to plant that one seed. Yeah. So that one seed. Yeah. You bring one person to Christ. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00But when you think about it like this, dude, right. Me and you don't go out to fish and think we're gonna catch one fish. No, I'm going out with a net. We're gonna go catch a bunch of them, aren't we? Me and you, if we went fishing this weekend, you would carry a bunch of rails.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_00You would carry a bunch of different baits.
SPEAKER_02Yep.
SPEAKER_00You would be prepared to bring in a bunch of fish. A bunch of fish. And look, with a big cooler. Yeah, with a big cooler. You come expecting, right? That's right. So the same thing I'd have in this ministry that you're doing, I just expect you're gonna catch a bunch of fish. Because God'll say, cast the net on the other side. You might not have caught them last night, but today's the new day. He said, throw it out there and see what happens. And you step down in faith just like the disciples do. Yeah. There's always the other side of the booth. Yeah, just throw it out there and see what happens. And then he'll bring them in. And he'll bring in so many through this ministry that you're gonna be like, wow, I was a part of that. That's what God will do in your ministry. He'll just do it. Yeah, absolutely. I knew you would get me fired up when you read the word. That's what always happened. And I we were trying to close, but when you get rebled, it gets me fired up.
SPEAKER_01I know because I just noticed our mics are cut, these little portable mics are they've cut off.
SPEAKER_00They chose young people say they're cooked.
SPEAKER_01That's exactly why I record on like three different things in case something goes over. I'll have something to next. I don't even know how long we've been talking. I don't either. I don't care, but I told you we can get there all night. Yeah, we'll go to the order batteries and go dead. Yeah. Well, brother man, I appreciate you being on. Absolutely. I love you. I'm thankful for your ministry and everything you've done. Absolutely. I mean, I I do. I love you and your whole family. I love y'all. Y'all being good to me. Absolutely. I appreciate it. Thank you. Well, that being said, we're going to end this podcast. Yep. Um, would you like to close it with a word of prayer?
SPEAKER_00Sure, absolutely. All right, let's do that. Father God, we thank you tonight as this word goes out. Lord, it ministers to everybody's spirit. Lord, let it catch a flame and a fire and let it go build into others. Let this word go out and reach a multitude of people. Lord, we thank you tonight for Ray and his family. Lord, we thank you for the blessings upon their life and let this word sink into us and grow us closer to you in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
