Dominion is more than a word; it’s a profound concept rooted in Scripture. In Genesis 1:28, God commands humanity to be fruitful, multiply, and have dominion over the earth. But what does this dominion entail? It’s about ruling with authority and managing the resources God has entrusted to us. The Hebrew word for dominion, "Rada," signifies a delegated power. This means that, as believers, we are called to exercise authority in our lives, just as a king does.

 You have been given power from the very beginning, but understanding and utilizing that power is crucial for living out your faith.

Welcome to the Testament Faith Podcast. I'm Ray Bradshaw. Joining me today. Again is John Paul Murphy and John Quinn with the Word of Faith Ministers out of Kingsville, North Carolina. And the subject on this podcast is going to be called to have dominion. And I'm going to start off Genesis 1, verse 28. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on this earth.

Mm-hmm. Now if you back up back to verse about 26, and God said, Let us make man in our image after our likeness. That means we're made in the likeness and an image of God. God spoke everything into existence that we see. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all of the earth, and over everything that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his likeness and in his image, and the image of God created he him. Male and female created he them. Then it goes into what you were talking about there. But it even a little bit for the back, that's what I was talking about. Even for the back, God said have dominion.

I mean from the time he put Adam in the Gordon and told him to take care of it.

Dominion actually there's a Hebrew word uh for dominion. It's Rada. It means to rule, to reign, to govern, to exercise authority, to have to manage under delegated authority. It's a delegated authority. You're supposed to walk in a delegated authority. Just like a a king, and we'll get into that a little bit further as we go in. But people walk around like the devil has all of this power when from the very get-go, the power has been until Adam turned it over. The power God gave the power to mankind. That's right.

But you also have new why do people walk around like they've been have no kit together? You gotta notice what did the devil come to do? Steal.

He came to know in the very beginning in the garden. He took their dominion. He stole their dominion. Yeah. And you've got people still living under that same strategy that has been stolen dominion. That's why he attacked him in the garden. And the I I said this means deny. The devil doesn't change trickeries. He uses the same strategy book that he always has. He's gonna play the same game every time. If you can play a strategy game, then you can figure out the devil. He's gonna come with the same tricks all throughout the Bible, the same games. He don't have nothing. Same thing. So what he does is he gets people to think that they don't have anything, that he come to tack their dominion and to give them to live in defeat, bondage, oppression, fear. But you gotta understand God came back to give you that dominion. In second uh 1 Corinthians 15 verses uh first 1 Corinthians 15 verses 45. The first man Adam became a living being, and the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. Jesus came as the last Adam. The first Adam lost authority, and then the last Adam, which is Jesus, came to restore authority. Colossians 2, 14 and 15. Having disarmed the principalities and power, making a public spectre of them, triumphing over them, Jesus didn't uh come and negotiate with hell. He came and took dominion, and now that same authority lives in you and dwells in you that you have that. Yeah, it said I needed to mash that button.

Yeah. So that's why Satan attacked Adam in the very garden was to deceive as many people as he could, and to deceive Adam that he lost control. But you gotta realize God's plan was, like these guys just said, was to have dominion from the very beginning. Yep. And that has been the plan of the enemy was to take that dominion away from them. But you gotta realize when he came and gave the dominion back, that's yours. Go ahead.

You know, right there at the beginning of that first scripture, there was actually five commands. One was first off, God blessed them. But then he said, Be fruitful, multiply, replenish, subdue, have dominion. I mean, that that that's what we were called to do. It'll get much easier than that, dude. No. Um man was created to rule. I mean, that that's that's what we were created to do. Uh Psalms uh eight, four, and six, what is man that thou art mindful of him? Or the son of man that thou visitest him, for thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honor. Thou madeest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands. That thou hast put all things under his feet. I mean, that's David. Yeah. So then you know, you've made us a little lower than the angels, and you've put all things under our feet.

Yeah. Then if you look into, say if you don't believe that you have dominion, look at 10 Luke 10 to 10 19. Behold I, Jesus speaking, give you authority over all the power of the enemy, and nothing. Nothing. I don't know why people don't understand about that word nothing.

I mean, well, you know the devil could do something. Nope. No, well, didn't you why have you why do you not read scripture? Nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Right.

Not some power, all power. The devil has been took and out at that point. Not some high lifted up thing, you have dominion. You have the dominion to take over authority and use that authority that's been given to you in Christ Jesus. Yep. Christ lives in you. Take dominion over your family, take dominion over when the devil comes to attack your family, attack your house. Why don't you get a little bit of you just go ahead and get angry and start yelling at the devil? See, people want small prayers.

Well, people, the devil can only do to you what you let him do.

Yeah. But if you people do like little pros tiny prayers. Let me let me explain this to you. Lord help us in this time. And you don't you don't ever get never mad at the enemy that's coming to attack you.

You ought to have something on the inside. Do you think Jesus loves the devil coming attacking his people? You ought to have some anger, letting that devil know who you are in Christ Jesus. What's the scripture says? Peter, uh Paul, I know.

Jesus, I know, and Paul I know, but who are you? But who are you? And he'd strip the devils and the man, stripped them down naked and beat the fool.

Well, don't why don't devil the hell know your name? Right. Hell should know your name.

If somebody broke into your house, would you say, Well, would you please leave? No, you would scream, get out of my house. And then they would hear a gun.

Yeah. Do you get out? Go ahead and let the uh the devil know who's in charge. He should know who you are. He should know you have authority in Christ Jesus. He should know who you are. See, people don't really get serious about it and actually believe this whole entire word that it has in here that tells you you have dominion. It starts in your mind. 2 Corinthians 10 verses 3 and 5, casting down argument and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. You must take territory with your mind. You have to take the territory of your mind first. You have to, because the devil plays in the battlefield of your mind. That's where every idea comes at. He comes in the battlefield of your mind. Fear, lust, unbelief, shame, hopelessness, all this stuff comes in your mind. If you can do what it says in here in 2 Corinthians 10, verses 3 through 5, casting down all argument and everything that exalts itself against the knowledge of God. Well, when you're thinking of hopelessness, that's a high thing that it accepts itself above the knowledge of God. The same thing with condemnation, the same thing with shame, the same thing with unbelief, that lust, fear, all these things are in your mind that the devil loves to come by and throw little things in your he throws thoughts in your head. But you got to cast them out. You gotta let him know, hey, I'm not thinking on that thing. Right. You got to avoid the temptation. Yeah. Don't think about the things in your head that comes up. There's little ideas that he tries to throw in your ideas. The devil loves to get in your mind to try to come up with things that you have, but you gotta realize you have dominion over your thoughts. You have dominion over your life. You have dominion. You're called to live in that dominion that Jesus says.

That's why I said, I mean, the devil can only do what you let him do. Absolutely. When he gets in your head, you gotta get him out. Yeah, you have to. You have to take dominion. I had uh Hebrews 2 8, John already covered one of my other ones. Oh, I'm sorry. That's all right. You have put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him. He left nothing that is not under him, but now we do not yet see all things put under him. Right back to Genesis where he just gives us control of everything.

And what we do with it is up to us. Well, since I gave I took one of yours, you can have one of mine. Matthew 18, 18. Or do you have that one? No, you didn't say nothing.

Surely I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be abound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Sounds like dominion right there, don't we? That's right. That's right. You have control.

That's that's right. Listen to this. Um, Philippians 2, 9, 11. God also has highly exalted him who has given him the name which is above every name. That name. People want to know how you carry that authority, how do you use that authority? It's in the name of Jesus. Use the name of Jesus. Use the name of Jesus. Demons have to bow to it. Fear has to run from it. Everything has to recognize that name that you use name of Jesus. That's right. So you say, well, the hell don't know my name, but it knows the name of Jesus that you carry the authority of. Because Christ lives inside of you. If you're a born-again believer, you need to know one thing that Christ live, if he lives inside of you, you have that right to use that name and to carry that name out with authority. Because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world. Use the authority. Use authority. Um, you can't live. Here's the thing though. Some people want authority, but they don't want to do it without surrendering. Right. Spiritual dominion flows from submission to God. Submit, James 4 7. Submit yourself to God. Resist the devil. What's the very first part of that? Submit yourself.

Everybody wants that last part of that verse.

This is how they quote it in the in churches. Resist the devil and he'll flee from you. That's how they say it in church. In church.

But they missed the big part, which is just surrender. I mean surrender.

Yeah. They missed that part. Submit yourself to God. If you don't do the first part, don't expect the last part.

I'm sorry. I mean they didn't tell you. That's how it works.

Yeah, that's your truth.

SPEAKER_01 12:18

It's the truth, and it hurts people's feelings. But look, you need to live a submitted life unto God. You want this dominion that we're talking about here. You have to give your life to God and say, God, I give everything I have. I get up every morning and I say, Lord, pour me out and fill me afresh with you. That's right. I want you to empty me out because I know there's junk in me. And as you get if you get that on the inside of you and realize that I'm submitted unto God, that's how you walk in this dominion. It's not because I'm puffed up some great big, big shot. It's because Christ has already paid for it for me. And when you figure that out, you realize, hey, I can walk in dominion, not because of what I've done, because of what he's done. And now I'm just walking in what he's done and I'm living in it. That's how you walk in it because you submit yourself to God. Submit yourself to God, resist the devil, and then what does it say? He will flee from you. You know, if you resist the devil, here's the next thing. You got to resist that sucker. He's gonna come at you with your temptation that you like the most. Sometimes we assist him instead of resisting. Yeah, but here's the thing: he don't come up to you with something that doesn't bother you. He comes with what is a temptation to you.

The same temptation to me might not bother Ray. Right. And what bother Ray don't bother me nothing. He's not gonna use the same thing. He uses it, but if you get to figure it out, like I said, you figure out what he uses. But he don't have no new tricks. He has the same thing he uses to tempt people in it. Yep. A lot of times it's you know, the one thing is we've talked about on this podcast a lot is money. He tries to get people in temptation to get their eyes off God for money. He uses uh people like a woman or a man to get their eyes off God and show you stories after stories of that one. He uses these trickeries to get people off and not just that. Um pride boasted up. He gets people to feel like they're somebody, he uses all different kinds of tactics. But if you ever get like Saul, he started seeing himself more of himself than who God had called him to be. So you can you can pretty well plan out what this sucker's gonna do. I I played checkers and chess a lot, and it's all the thing is a strategy game, monopoly, it's all a strategy game. You figure out what how he's gonna attack the board, and then you can just play like, hey buddy, I know what you're gonna do next.

Yeah, like I know. So some people they don't know how to resist the devil. He's gonna do the same thing. He's gonna bring, you know, if you you're into drugs or alcohol, he's gonna use that drugs or alcohol to try to tempt you. That's right. You ought to know it. Then he's if that don't work, he's gonna send a woman down or a man down the way to come after you. That's right. He'll send some money along the way to see what you're gonna do with that. He'll find some way to get to you. But here's the thing you need to know. I have dominion. When you start getting in Christ Jesus, accept him in the Lord of your life, you're not gonna be a weak or beat-up fool because now you're no longer slave to that stuff. You've been set free from all sin. You've been set free from all that. So the sun sets free is free indeed.

Yeah. So in uh Ephesians uh 1, 20, verses 3, he said he said Jesus is sitted far above the principalities, far above powers, far above might, far above dominion. You gotta realize he is set far above all the things that is coming against you. Jesus has already paid for you to be far above. You're not here to just be a punching bag for the devil. And I see a lot of people in, you know, Christians that just take it as a punching bag. Well, the devil's been beating me up all week long.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa is me. And they look at herself as play the victim. Yeah. Why are you looking at yourself as the victim when you got Jesus Christ living inside of it? I mean, either you do or you don't. I mean, you either do or you don't. Because I mean, you don't here's the problem, because people's not been educated in this topic.

And they don't read the Bible, they'd rather watch nine hours of soap operas or whatever's on TV, garbage. And you can get in this Bible and find out what the Bible says. And when you get this spiritual authority that you have in dominion, buddy, you turn it around from being a punch of bag to the devil to you start wearing his head out, like letting him know, hey buddy, you can't do this to me. You ain't gonna do that to me, brother.

No, that's like Ephesians 2, 6, and he has raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. I mean, you're seated in a place he can't even stand.

Yeah, far above. Far above. Far above.

Yeah, I mean, seated in a position of authority.

Yeah, seated far above in a position of authority.

Kings sit on the throne. Kings don't ask whether they have authority. Did you ever see in the Bible where King David said, Well, if I've got the authority today, I'll do so and so. No, he said, sure as the Lord God lives today, you'll die. He said that several times in the Bible. I mean David was David didn't doubt who he was. Jesus didn't doubt who he was. So as a Christian, you need to quit doubting who you are. You need to find out who you are to start with. And that comes through what we're talking about getting in the word.

Practical areas where believers must take dominion as one is over fear. Um a lot of people operate in fear and in in nervous wrecks. Oh my God. I mean, I you wouldn't believe the people that I see that are dealing with um anxiety and depression and all these things, and I'm like And then you hear the pastor over there that says we're all in this together, everybody has mental issues.

I don't. Yeah, I don't. I don't suffer from depression, I don't suffer from anxiety. I don't have any mental issues. How can somebody make that kind of statement? I mean, I I'm speak for yourself. I mean, that that's the thing. You know, Jesus paid for our our mental mental stability. He paid for our you know, for us to be free from depression and anxiety.

If you want to fight him, you got the tools to do it. Yeah. You just got to choose to do it.

I mean, this is like waking up every morning inside, and if you want to be happy or you want to be mad.

That's a choice you make. Yeah. Just like being woe is woe is me, it's the devil eating at you. Yeah. Just like it used to be with me, I was all about the money and wanting things. I mean, that was him working.

That was that temptation. I couldn't resist the temptation because I weren't getting in his word and doing what's going on.

But the more you get in his word, Ray, you can you can kind of spot what he's coming at you. And you you're you're kind of getting spiritual sense of seeing what's going on. And that's what you know we're trying to expose to our viewers is you know, you they can see things once you get in the Bible law.

And the more you start doing that, the more you'll start you'll realize it because it's just like driving through town and you start getting angry at traffic. You start praying. Yeah. You start asking the Lord to help you get over that and get that devil out of you. Yeah. Because you have the power in your tongue to rebuke the devil out of your life. You do. And everything else.

Yeah. And you know, where people need to take dominion is over the fear, for God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of love, peace, and a sound mind. You know, you have to quote these scriptures to fight out. This is exactly how Jesus took on the devil when he was on a fast. He took him on with scriptures. Take his sucker and have dominion. Get up and instead of getting up, I don't feel good today. And get up and start quoting scriptures one behind another and letting the devil know, hey buddy, you might have attacked me. You might have tried to come up here and do something, but greater is he that's in me than he's in the world. And I'm back's gonna wreck your head off. Let him know who you are in Christ because you have that authority.

Has anybody read Genesis 9, 2 yet? Y'all got that one? Go ahead, read it to us. And the fear, I repeat, and the fear of you and the dread of you shall be on every beast of the earth, every bird of the air, and all that move on the earth, all the fish of the sea, they are given into your hand.

Well, even the wildlife.

That sounds like a little bit like dominion, doesn't it?

Sounds like dominion to me. Sounds like everything. Even wildlife knows that man has dominion. Because wildlife you walk out in the field where a deer is. Gone.

You walk out in your front yard and there's a rabbit eating on you, say you watch it do.

Right. Gone. That's that's that's what I'm saying. Knows dominion. God gave dominion. Animals know that you animals are smarter than a lot of people. Oh, yeah. Because they understand dominion. They know, hey, that's right. This guy can take me out. Well, the devil ain't figured it out. He knows it, but he's just he's doing the same thing. He's deceiving people.

I think he knows, but he's he's a deceiver. So like he did at uh he knows what he's doing, that's for sure.

Yeah. But the thing is, if he can trick you into believing you don't have it.

Right. I mean that's easy to do for some people too. I mean, it was for me, he tricked me all the time.

Yeah, yeah.

But if he can convince you you don't have the mean, and as a man thinks in his heart, so is he. And if you watch Hollywood's representation of Jesus. versus the devil. Look at look at how they want to paint Jesus. You know, always it's always a Catholic church saint. Normally where you see Jesus and he's a weak eviscerated man on a still hanging on a cross. That's not the Jesus we serve. No, my Jesus is not on a cross. It says in Revelation John said that his what his eyes were like fire and his feet were like brass. And you know, but yet they want to they want to paint the devil as this real strong masculine being that's larger than life. Right. When the Bible plainly says that in that day we'll see him and we'll say is this the thing that did trible trouble the nation is it and make make the world feared? Is is this the thing?

Have y'all got Daniel 7 14? Then to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples, nations and languages should serve him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion which shall not pass away and his kingdom the one which shall not be destroyed. That tells us right there again everything on this earth is in our control. Your mind, everything around you, and we should not let the devil take control of it.

Yeah fight. Yeah well and talking about sin and dominion it says this in Romans 6 14 for sin shall not have dominion over you for you are not under the law but under grace. And they don't have dominion over you. When people struggle with this you know we were talking about a a man not too long ago he's like how do I get over this thing of of sin and how'd I get over it then you need to start quoting these scriptures letting say this thing don't have dominion over me. I have dominion over it. That's right in Jesus' name. Yeah to start always telling me I struggle yeah instead of saying I struggle with this why don't you say I've been delivered from this and I I have I have freedom from this I have freedom in it. Healing all dominion over demonic oppression that to Acts 10 38 healing all who were oppressed by the devil Jesus delivered them all.

He had dominion over the devil and that same dominion that Jesus carried around here on earth when he was here now lives and dwells in you that you've been able to uh heal that brings me to like Psalms 119 verse 133 direct my steps by your word and let no inequity have dominion over me.

That's right believer talks about we're supposed to take control of our thoughts I mean casting down every imagination and every high thing you already said that one I said a while ago that's where the devil works on us the most is in our thoughts.

Yeah that's where he starts at and that and that's why people start getting depressed angry having all this anxiety and fear to do anything in public or elsewhere I mean it's just it's a life destroyer.

Yeah you're never being called to retreat you're called to take dominion and push for it. When you have the armies of the Lord has never been called to retreat but a lot of times we see even in churches people like back down and they don't really push stack why don't you why don't they if they're in church why don't they read this and actually believe it Matthew 6 18 and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it when he's talking to Peter about the church being built. The gates hell shall not prevail against this church. And then you ought to realize that I got dominion over every power of the earth and I'm going to take dominion I'm going to take charge I'm going to push the FUD fight I'm going to go all the way I'm going to do everything for God and guess what? We're going to win we're not going to lose they always talk about we talked about a podcast earlier people talk about all the bad things that's going on in the earth you need to realize that even though the dark world might get dark you have the light of the world living on the inside of you.

You know that goes back to what we're talking about in the earlier podcast too about the churches not being alive and needing revival if it ain't it's not just up to the pastor to make that happen.

Because everybody out there in them pulpits have dominion over that church also like it's like looking at a therm is like looking at a thermometer versus a thermostat. That's right. A thermometer tells you what the temperature is if you don't like it what do you do? You change the thermostat and get it get it hotter or cooler get it if you don't like what's going on in the church be a thermostat be a thermostat and get up and do something about it.

Well you know the pastor doesn't do something well get up busy and start doing something it's not left up to one person.

I've known pastors that they they just totally refuse to go to the hospital and see people I'm not doing that. I'm not doing that.

Wow what I bet he didn't keep a job very long that uh you know have you ever thought about it and never looked at the uh armor of God there's there's your back is the one thing that there's not something to go on.

Right.

That means that the Christian is never supposed to back down. That's right you're not supposed to retreat. You're not supposed you're supposed to push forward like you were saying a while ago that was I that was something that popped in my head when you were talking about that was you know the fact that there there's not a a guard for your back because God's got you back. That's right. Yeah.

Never back down. Romans 16 verses 20 and God will the and the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. You know but the devil's not over your head or eye to eye or even waist devil he's underneath your feet.

Yeah it doesn't have dominion over you have been free by grace that's right you've got that's how you start how do you start maintaining a dominion life okay how can a believer start maintaining a dominion life Romans 10 17 so then faith what is dominion based off of trust in God faith comes by hearing and hearing the word of God if faith comes by hearing then faith can also leave by not hearing are you hearing what I'm saying? If you're not hearing it and you're listening to the world and everything else that's how people get out of dominion because they're not putting anything in. What is faith but trust? Yeah but if you stop feeding your spirit fear gets louder if you stop feeding your spirit the doubts get stronger. If you stop feeding your your your spirit temptations become heavier everything increases when you stop feeding faith. You know I see people all the time they start off real strong and then you kind of see them wading off and I can't I can tell you what's going on. You're not reading your Bible anymore. You're not getting in the word anymore you're coming to two church services a week and you're getting that little bit of word in you if that yeah if that and you're not getting anything and then you're wondering why you look like you're a weak shriveled up pruned it looks like you've been beat down and defeated you don't look like you got dominion because you don't have it because you haven't read nothing.

Anytime they wanted to get in the word is if they feel like they're getting ready to get in a bind or they just got in a wreck or they've lost a loved one and then they start getting in it and trying to read and do but then they just fizzle right on back out again.

Yeah. Some people feed all day long on nothing but social media fear politics negativity but they never feed their spirit. And they wonder why their spiritual is so defeated and so they don't have this dominion like we're talking about on this podcast. You can have this dominion that we're talking about. But you have to feed your spiritual to be strong because the devil's going to know who he's dealing with. If he's dealing with a little old weak somebody that hasn't hit the gym in two or three weeks you're not going to go out there and take on somebody that's been hitting the gym every week the devil knows scripture he knows everything he's going to be ready to attack you. But if you've been in there you've been lifting the weights in the faith you've been reading the word of God you've been getting strong you know everything you're going to take it to his head and just wear him out because you're going to be quoting scripture after scripture I'm buddy I I know all these scriptures and I know who I am.

Did you have uh 2 Corinthians 13 5 what does it say in IT should you not know that the Lord God of Israel gave the dominion over Israel to David forever to him and his sons by a covenant of salt. Yeah. And then you know that leads right on into us the Gentiles after the Lord Jesus. That's right. I mean that's you know people just need to wake up and realize and I'm gonna say this there's a lot of Christians out there too and you said it earlier they don't realize that we have the dominion and we have the power to rebuke the evil one out of our life and make and make the decision but you got to stay in this word and stay in prayer. I mean it's like it's like our podcast the other day it narrows the gate. It's not an easy road it's not an escalator.

You're gonna have to climb the stairs yeah he wants you the only thing he wants you to do is read the Bible and give him first that's right and I found out the more I follow after the more I follow him the radio the easier it gets yeah the more I follow him the easier it gets because then I'm not fighting all the time because at the beginning I was having to fight the devil like tooth and nail. But the longer I get with God the more strength I get the more stronger I get the the more I'm able to take him on because I I've learned about who I am I'm not like you know I'm not being the punching bag for the devil. You know I say this all the time I haven't been sick in a long time I've been completely healthy. I haven't got colds and all these things that I used to get because as I've been going closer and closer to the Lord I just get up and I say Lord I thank you if I get a little tickle in my throat I say no no no no no I'm not taking sickness you said you would take sickness away from this you know I'm not having it if a people could walk around a desert and there was no sickness among them then I'm part of that I've got a better covenant with God. So you have the minion and that's how you start taking it um so yeah that you know the devil will always whisper in your your head you can never change God's forgot you you always struggle nothing's happening you're defeated so you have to stop agreeing with hell stop agreeing with hell stop agreeing with his lies and start speaking the word of God that says you know this is why it says the same scripture we've covered several times bring every thought into captivates in the obedience of Christ you have to take them captives them thoughts captive start bringing them in by the word of God reading scriptures over your thoughts start putting that replacing that I can change I am changed it's not when the devil says you can never change say no I have changed. I'm a new creation that's right new creation when he starts telling you that you God has forgot you he said he'll never leave me nor forsake me lo I'm with you always even to the ends of the earth that's what he whispers in your ears you'll always struggle no if God be for me who can be against me see what I'm saying there's a scripture for everything that the devil whispers in your ears but if you don't ever if you don't ever know if you don't know him he'll just take a punch it back to you nothing's gonna happen you he'll get that into your head you're defeated no you can say I'm an overcomer in Christ Jesus you have something that'll you have something to say to everything the devil tries to whisper in your ears he loves to think these things in your ears but when you've got the word of God to come back we've said it on several podcasts the word of God will never return to him void. So when you put that word of God out you have a guarantee that when I put that word out the devil's gonna flee he's not gonna want to hang around after about the third scripture it didn't take Jesus but a couple of scriptures and that sucker was gone. Resist the devil and he'll flee from you how do you resist him any better than using scriptures one right behind another just throw them at him like huh buddy I'm not gonna word is life to those that find it in health all their flesh I mean how many times does Jesus say it is written I mean he would throw them scriptures at him yeah and see here's the thing the devil doesn't come in to take a lot of your dominion all at one time he comes in by a little bit of compromise a little bit of disobedience a little bit of bitterness a little bit of lust a little bit of prayerlessness a little bit at a time if you don't believe me look at Samson oh yeah Samson had dominion did he not would everybody agree on that one yeah he was a strong man he would take it to the enemies the Philistines and he would take it to them they feared him but he had a little bit of this a little bit more and a little bit more and he eventually lost his dominion through compromise see that's the same thing that people do they they lose it through compromise because little by little um so a lot of people want to they think oh well I'm not gonna lose it all at one time the devil doesn't come in to take everything at one time he does a little bit at a time he takes a little bit at a time and that you know you know everything that I've ever had bad happen to me I felt like it's uh once I think back on it can start seeing where it started going downhill.

How you think in your heart what you believe in your heart is how you are that's right it goes right back right back to what you say you read you know we're designed we were designed to rule and reign with Christ. Revelation one five and six talks about unto him that loved us and washed us from our sins in his own blood and hath made us kings and priests unto God. That goes back to what I was talking about a while ago you're a king a roy another scripture talked about you're a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people that should show forth the praises of God. If you're a king and a priest like I said kings don't have to wonder right about whether they have the authority or whether they have the dominion. They know they have it.

Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Right. I mean you Dominion comes if a king wants something done in his kingdom and he never says he wants it done then the put the people don't know what to do. You know you're supposed to speak to the mountains in your life I was gonna let you expand on that one I figured you'd be funny.

Yeah so if you don't realize that you're a king though and you don't realize that you have dominion the devil will punch you around all the time that's the greatest thing you know the greatest goal you know what the devil's greatest goal is not just to attack you but to wear you down. He loves to wear people down. Like I said it's not all at one time people think well it's gonna happen to me all at one time no he does a little bit because if he can silence your prayer life if he can get you out of the word of God if he can get you to be quiet when you worship he can get you to stop reading your Bible silence your faith eventually he can weaken you down to a place that he can really have it work on you. Because then you're no you're no threat. That's right. Because if a king gets weakened down little by little if you're willing to take over kingdom you're not just gonna run through the throne room and take him out with a a spear or a javelin you're gonna get killed on the way in you got to work your way up to it. You got to work your way up and that's what he's doing. He's slicing little bits of little bits off at a time but you've got to be aware of that. Be like look anybody you're not gonna come in here and take this gram off of me. You know you got to be very wise stay prayed stay prayed up that's important. Stay prayed up you know don't don't dismiss prayer time you know you can go and watch TV at night you can go if you cannot sit in a room and pray for an hour or so at a time and sit there and pray there's a problem with you I'm gonna I'm I'm honest right you need to have prayer time you need to have prayer time I know when when we leave here tonight I'll go to my building and I'll pray I pray a lot I read my Bible and I pray I read my Bible and I pray I read my Bible and pray because prayer time is so important. It's how you keep healthy on the inside because you're communicating to God talking to them about things you know you if well I I run out of things to say how do you run out of things to say you can requote scriptures that's right I read scriptures out Lord you said I love to remind God what he said I said Lord you said this you said this and then I'll read out about 10 or 15 scriptures Lord this is what you said you would do. Now I'm just holding you a man to your word and you have that kind of prayer time that's not just Lord I need you to help me with this I need you to know who it's I'm quoting scriptures and it's not for my personal gain. It's actually most time everything I'm praying for is the church.

I'm praying for the needs of the community I'm praying for things you can do that for your family and things like that. God'll move when you start having that one-on-one prayer time. Take it to the devil let the devil know you're not gonna take this ground when you start praying I you're not gonna take this ground from me and my house. Amen that's how you take dominion is in your prayer time. That's right. We don't fight flesh and blood we're going against the spirits and powers of the enemy and that's the one our warfare are not growing you just go in there. You go in there and you're praying you're thinking God you're quoting scriptures out you're letting who know who it is that's right you should have you some warrior scriptures just like I was giving you earlier scriptures after scriptures that I have I have them all on my phone. I can pull them up me and my son quote them at night together before he goes to bed. I'm teaching him scriptures of who you are you're strong in the Lord. I give him scriptures scriptures I'm reading them off to him. He's only six years old I read scriptures off to him every night we quote scriptures together that's what you do is taking dominion because you let the enemy know you're not gonna run over me and take over things. Yeah. You got to build it up you got to build those muscles yep every day building that strength up reading the Bible so that spirit spiritual health is just as important as physical health.

Your spiritual health can bring hell fat or skinny I mean your spiritual health can bring down your physical health I mean I've seen it happen many a time yeah so you know you need to realize that you're running the show you're running that on purpose you're you're running the show you have authority you know you need to go in and tell the devil that he's got to give back to you what he's taken from you.

Yeah well why don't instead of complaining about I see some people complaining about things that's been taken from them well so and so took money from us and this that another why don't you tell the thief to give it back I'm not talking about the person right but who does it say the author of stealing is the devil. Then why don't you come and tell him to bring it back to you if you've really got dominion Ray I mean I'm just using you for example if you really got dominion yeah and you've got fed you've got fed off these scriptures in the Bible why don't you speak to it? That's right. Like John's saying life and death is in the power of tongue what you speak to this mountain and say unto it, be moved and be cast in the sea and it has to obey you then why don't you tell to the money that's been stolen from you hey Money come back. Then get the money back.

You know, people people want to like it, I don't know, say John does something to you, and one of the first things you'll do, well, I'm gonna sue you, and you start quoting man-made law. Why don't people use God's law the same way against the devil? Yeah. I mean, he's given us that dominion, he's given us this instruction book of life, but so many people refuse to use it for their own good.

Yeah. Take it and instead go in there and start taking charge over the money that's been taken from you. Stolen, you've lost. Anything that's happened, you say, Well, what is it all about money? Well, let me tell you something. What's going on in this world requires some money, some finances, and I we we were up there in the church this week quoting it prosperity with purpose. You've got money for a purpose to be able to build God's kingdom. It's not so you get a fat cat and get rich and get off and go to the beach and do nothing with it. It's so you can expand the kingdom of God. So why don't you call that stuff back that the devils took from you and say, hey, you gotta bring it back, buddy?

Yeah, we talked about that on the one we talk about tithing too. I mean, you you're gonna reap what you sow. Yeah. I mean, if you give your first fruit, you're gonna get more back. Yeah. It's all apart to giving anyway.

Yeah, prosperity has a purpose. The Bible doesn't say the root of all evil is money, it's the love of money. Yeah. And what you're doing with it, that's why's evil.

You mean to tell me God's gonna give me gonna give me power to get something that's that's bad? No, he's not. No. The blessings of the Lord makes rich, it has no sorrow with it. I could go on on on and on and on that one all day. I I I really like it when people want to debate me on whether poverty is of God and prosperity is of God. No, that's me. Every time you look, I I told in church yesterday, look up the pro poverty scriptures, look up everything that has to do with prosperity and see which one God liked.

Yeah. So take dominion over your finances. That's where I'm headed to in this next segment. I'm saying take dominion over your finances. If you're checking accountant, and not everybody's where they need to be at. You know, at one point I didn't have very much finances. Right. But I took dominion. I realized, hey, Lord, you said if I'm faithful in the little things, you'll give me much. Right. And then when I get the much, I'll be faithful in it. And as I'll be able to do that, I'll be able to buy things for the church. I'll be able to give unto the church. I'll be able to help different ministries along the way. I'll be able to help uh missionaries, I'll be able to help evangelists, I'll be able to do things in that. And you say, well, they they shouldn't be all about money. Well, how else are you gonna be able to? I mean, it requires some things now to get from point A to bone lately. It requires some money to fly state in the hotel. It requires some money to to fix water for people that don't have water. It requires some money to pick clothes on the back of somebody that don't have any clothes. Well, you can get them from the Goodwill or somewhere. If I'm not gonna give my best, I'm gonna leave it at home. I'm sorry. You might you might get upset with me, but I when I give, I'm like David. I'm not gonna bring you something that didn't cost me something. That's right.

Yeah, they did you know that there's actually missionaries that they get used tea bags. They send them used tea bags. Like somebody you gives them and they use the teabag and then they package it up in a ziplop bag and send it to missionaries. Yeah.

I'm gonna give my very best, and that's because I have dominion. When you take dominion, a king doesn't give trash to another king. I serve King Jesus. Do you serve? He's giving me kingdom to rule over.

I mean, the just the Cedars of Lebanon, you know, the finest. They brought him the finest things. You know, that that's how you should be with God. Give him give him your very best. Yeah. And not just in your finances, people, right, but also in your worship, in your responsibility, your duties to the church.

Yeah. We should do that with your neighbor also, though. I mean, yeah. Every how you're gonna treat the Lord, that's how you need to treat your neighbor. Absolutely. I mean, if your neighbor comes to you for help, if you're gonna put a hundred dollars in an offering pre, hand your neighbor a hundred dollars. Yeah, give them some help. That's right.

You have to you need to realize if you're watching this tonight, that you have dominion over your finances, you have dominion over your brain, your mind, you have dominion over your body, you have dominion over everything, your family of your life, your family, you have dominion over every part of your life. So start acting like it and stop acting like a little weak victim. Victim. I am, I am, because here's the thing the time's coming closer and closer to the end. And God is looking for some leaders that's gonna run the race.

Right. I got two right here talking about what we go ahead. John 6, verse 35. And Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life. He who comes to me shall never hunger, and who who believes in me shall never thirst. And the second one I found on this topic is Psalms 36, verse 8. They are abundantly satisfied with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your pleasures. So if you're gonna do something, you should do the same thing for somebody else. Not do it on a lesser standard. Do the same for them as you would for yourself.

That's what I I like to look at when I'm giving, you know, when I'm giving even to ministers, you know, brothers and sisters in Christ, when I'm helping people out doing things, I give the very best because I live like I have dominion. I walk like I have dominion because I do. I have it, because Christ gave it to me. Um, you know, take dominion in your worship and your praise. I see people barely praising God, and I'm thinking, hasn't he done something good for you? And people see me, you know, they see me dancing and and getting a little bit wild, and they're like, Well, that's that's kind of crazy, and things like that. Well, let him praise his name with dance in Psalms 4149. You should get a little bit radical about who you are in Christ Jesus. I mean, there is a lot of that. I do. I thank God for everything he's done for me. And I tell people all the time, I said, You don't know what he's done for me. You don't know where he's brought me from. So take dominion in every part of your life and operate in it.
